Palo Verde East Dorm Reviews at ASU

Unfortunately, I do not have a photo but, the bathrooms in the dorms were collecting mold on the ceilings, even after cleaning the carpet it was full of dust and dirt. My roommate and I had a mold test done along with many other students due to constantly being sick and feeling sick throughout the whole year. The elevators also broke almost once a week. The common areas were old and not enjoyable to use. This is one of the oldest dorm buildings on campus and should be torn down. A building that causes students to be sick all year should no longer be liveable.

Everyone was very friendly, dormmates and staff that worked there. Move-in was very fast, efficient, and easy due to the RAs coordinated efforts. The entire place was always super clean, and nothing ever broke while I was there.

The building is located in a good spot on campus, relatively close to the rest of campus plus two dining halls, the POD Market, and Starbucks and the UPS Store is in the building itself. If you have a room on University Dr expect lots of road noise but you get used to it. I had a few problems with bugs throughout the year (on the third floor even) but it wasn't too big a deal. Overall a nice place to experience college and meet new people.

The dorms were extremely dirty when I had arrived. The dorms were very expensive and ASU made us buy a meal plan for the dorms which were another couple thousand for the year. The bathrooms were really dirty when we first got in. They gave us a sheet of paper to write down all the issues with the room (holes in the walls, stains, etc.) Unfortunately, there were too many to write down so regardless of how well you kept the room if you had missed one stain or hole, you will get charged for the damages. Any maintenance issues that I had were almost never resolved. I would have preferred paying for a slightly more expensive apartment were I can have my own room and my deposit. I would not recommend to anyone who is thinking about it.

I thought the dorms were pretty nice. When I arrived the dorm and bathroom were very clean. The water pressure in the shower wasn't great, but other than that, I thought the bathroom was fine. The outside area can get a bit noisy, but ASU is a big campus and Pablo Verde East is located in one of the most populated areas of campus. I did enjoy my stay there.
