Couple all this sheer natural beauty with an astonishing profusion of cultures and peoples, and you’ll be sure to fall in love with the great African continent. The cradle of humankind, as we know it, was home to some of the greatest civilisations of the ancient world, remnants of which are still seen across the continent in the form of monuments, artefacts and deep-rooted traditions. Travel to Sudan and discover the ancient Nubian pyramids that dot the Nile Valley. Marvel at the imposing obelisks in Ethiopia that tell tales of the Axum Kingdom. Why Travel To Kenya? Best Things About Kenya Safari

Kenya is home to some of Africa’s most iconic landscapes and wildlife. The Indian Ocean coastline stretches for hundreds of kilometers, with palm-fringed beaches and turquoise waters. Inland, the vast savannah is punctuated by acacia trees and is home to big cats, elephants, and buffalo. The Great Rift Valley is a dramatic landscape of escarpments, lakes, and volcanoes. And finally, Kenya’s 21 national parks protect a diversity of ecosystems, from arid deserts to montane forests. Private conservancies are also an important part of Kenya’s conservation effort and provide vital habitat for many endangered species. With so much to offer, it’s no wonder that Kenya is one of Africa’s top tourist destinations.

1. The Great Migration, one of nature’s most incredible wonders, sees around 1.5 million wildebeest make their annual journey between July and October.

2. The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi is an orphanage for baby elephants and rhinos, preparing them for their eventual return to the wild.

3. The Maasai people are one of Kenya’s most recognizable ethnic groups, known for their colorful traditional dress and beadwork.

4. Diani Beach, on the Indian Ocean coast near Mombasa, is a beautiful stretch of white sand ideal for relaxation and soaking up the sun.

5. Amboseli National Park, at the base of Kilimanjaro, is home to a large population of elephants and offers visitors an unforgettable experience.

Dates & Prices

If you want a few extra days to explore on your own, we may be able to arrange for you to stay later than the scheduled dates, including extra hotel nights and separate airport transfers, for an additional charge. Ask us about prices and availability when (or after) you book. More information Want to extend your trip?

Options & Fees

1. Your room will be booked to guarantee it is available if you arrive at the hotel before 3pm.

1. Operation subject to weather conditions.

1. All visitors to Kenya must obtain their own visa before departure. This price is approximate, based on a single-entry visa from Kenya’s Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system.

So that we can offer you the best deals, our packages are, like most hotels and cruises, priced based on double occupancy rooms or cabins. We charge solo travelers an extra fee to cover the extra costs of single occupancy rooms or cabins. (Consider: if you booked a $200/night hotel room solo, you would pay the $200 yourself; but if a couple booked the same room, each one would pay only $100.) But you only pay extra for the rooms or cabins, nothing else, including meals, sightseeing, tips, etc. Why are single rooms more?

Top 5 airlines serving from Dubai to Africa

Everything was good up until getting off the plane. Riyadh simply cannot handle an A380. Exiting the plane on a remote stand was extremely slow and frustrating, then waiting for buses for transport back to the terminal is another disaster. Give me the 777 any day.

Food was good, great communication by Pilot and Co Pilot, Crew very friendly. Slow beginning drink and meal service - over 2hrs into flight which disrupted overnight flight sleep. Entertainment systems was 3 Stars, my wife's was nonfunctional and had to call attendant 3 times to get it reset, mine the headphones and jack we're twitchy and keep going to muted volume.

Plane was old and seats uncomfortable but staff were friendly and helpful

I didn't travel from the start I changed my ticket long time ago

All was good. Emirates should restart allowing fast track immigration for business class at Manchester airport. Saves a bit of time

Always my favourite airline. On time, lovely staff, clean comfortable seats. Well done

First Class on A380 was an incredible experience with a group of very attentive crew. The only flaw of this flight was the boarding process at Concourse C of DXB where no one was managing the queue. I was at Zone A but arrived when they were already boarding Zone C & D. There was no separate gate for Zone A & B to go through.

I see I gave my review for this flight on my flight Zürich to Dubai rather than Dubai to Singapore.

very nice experience…….we had a comfortable fly with emirates…this is 6 th time flying with emirates….i recommend friends to fly with emirates…….

I am going to be just factual, not bad mouthing nor complaining, but this was my experience. With 3 pieces of luggage, I was told the flight from Mumbai to Dubai was cancelled due to flood. This was told not by the airport board which still showed the regular time of departure, but general stuff at the airport. No Emirates stuff around to direct the transfer passengers of the cancelled flights. By the departure counters with crowds of people, one by one, angry, frustrated, urgent conversations were going on. No announcement were made, no postings being seen, just private conversations. I still have 5+ hours of layover, so I let more urgent people settled first. However, the fact that no communication of when, what and where I should go was very unsettling. Basically no time limit waiting means, no meal, no sleep, no step away, no planning, no change plan, no telling of the family what to do. Nobody was able to tell you anything but asked you to wait, no chair, no space, no facility to freshen up. That went on for 10+ (from 5) hour without warnings and accurate communications. Email received from Emirates asked me not to go to Dubai at all, or boarding at the time that was passed. In other words, communication were very untimely, after the fact. That created more confusion instead. After changing several of boarding time, we were given the gate # and a boarding pass. However, the boarding pass still have the original time of boarding, so again, not knowing walking 30 min in the airport to the gate would make you late or not, therefore, still dare not to eat a meal. The flight arriving to Dubai was uneventful and I gave a 4/5 rating. I just thought the layover at Dubai would just cut short from 8+ hours to 2+ hours. At Dubai airport, I saw people sleeping on cardboard, knowing, these people got stranded but they dared to sleep because they know when to board and I didn't. Or these kind of delay are just so normal that people know what to do to pass time. Then the worst service and crazy thing happened. The boarding time on board for LA and at gate A9 was clearly 8:50AM. At 8:40, surprised by not having any boarding activities, then one single staff showed up and said to a few passengers that the boarding would be delayed without a time frame. Since only a few people know, I asked another Emirates staff at another counter, who simply said basically non of his business. I was shocked with that indifferent attitude. Yet every boards I saw show the same boarding time. What kind of system failure was that to prepare delay situation! How confusing and unnecessary chaos and anger that provoke. That poor staff had to repeat himself so many times, answered questions that he had no power nor information to provide nor solved. One an only one stuff to show up for 10 min, leaving the counter non-staff with board showing 8:50AM boarding. This was purely irresponsible from top to bottom of the entire airline operation staff. What kind of leader in a service industry would allow this to happen to their customers. Without explanation, after changing 3 times the boarding times, again, means you should not go to eat a full meal, because, when you found a mob at the gate. People who were stranded for 2 days were afraid of not getting a seat with a full plane. That would not be happening if the airline provide adequate guidance to each person, instead of just having 4 staff yelling at the gate at the same time to "control" the crowd, threatening no boarding and delay boarding. Finally, I was on board, hungry and tired, not sleep for 36 hours. I was denied with a snack of fruit. By the time meal was served, it was an hour later. Half way of the trip, I felt sleep in fetus position and did not want to move, happy I finally could have some shut eyes time. However, when I got up to the bathroom, I felt very light headed. Having sleep deprived, constipated for 3 days, dehydrated, I knew it could happen since my blood pressure usually was low closed to 90/60. Any lower then that, I could have syncope. Sure enough, I was on the floor just 10 feet from my seat and 5 feet to the bathroom. However, nobody called for help. I asked for warm water and juice to hydrate, came only with cold and icy drinks which I wouldn't take. I asked for blankets, one was given. Yet my shivering, needs to cover my head and multiple requests did not hasten to take the two blankets that are at my seat 10 feet away. I waited 10 min for that. While 2-3 staff surrounded me, nobody did the vitals until after 15 min, just the spirometer only of which did not work due to my cold fingers. The first reading was 86 and oxygen was suggested. But another supervising personnel came, fussed over another reading, ignoring my comfort and needs. Seemingly the reading of spirometer was the priority. By then, no oxygen needed. I had this fainting experience before, and I knew how to help myself. However, I was not being listened to but to be told this and that. Finally, I got better and returned to seat. One kind flight attendant said she would check back with me in 15 min. She did not come back. I felt asleep in that fetus position again and this time I woke up with a bad cramp at my left leg. Yet I needed to go to bathroom, the cramp was too bad to walk. So I stepped back to seat. When I tried again the second time, the other front leg got cramp. This time I dare not move but massaged myself. For all these 5-10 min, I called for attention. Attendants passed me by because they were carried with heavy load of blankets and stuff. Nobody answered the light. Then came landing and off board. I was asked by two attendants how I felt. I smiled and said "fine".

This booking was as a result of stolen identity and hacking my debit account. I reported it to my bank. The thief tried to book two flights, maybe more. Hopefully, Kayak will be able to block fraudulent bookings and charges better in the future.

Very friendly and efficient staff. Would definitely fly Saudia again.

Entertainment on all 4 business class seats were terrible audio and could barley hear. The 11 hour layover in Riyadh was a nightmare and no one told us that nightmare matter what we do or what we were willing to pay there were no places to rest or sleep and nine of the lounges allow you to enter them no matter what unless you are 4 hours or less from flight time. With a 78 yearold mother with me this is ridiculous. The employees of the airline in Riyadh and of the lounge treated us like servants or lower class people. Never again

I wonder why checking carry on bags while the checking process was done by Moroccan security. Is it question of trust or Morocco security system is not qualified enough?

Entertainment for non Arabic speakers is very limited. Seats were comfortable. Seat map while booking showed 2-2-2 config, but the flight had 1-2-1..

The seats’ reclined like premium economy seats, ie, not much.. but leg space was a lot l, so it did not feel cramped. Crew was very friendly and helpful.

It’s like two different companies managing fligh from DC and totally horrible company between Jeddah and Cairo

Route from DC was ok nothing special or bad From Jeddah to cairo horrible First flight got delayed by 3 hours no explanation so what ever Arrived in cairo to find lock on my bag Saudia crew in cairo didn’t know who did could not open had to break my bag zipper to open my luggage

Since it leaves at 2:00am you sleep through most of it.

I have been traveling for over 30 years, and this was THE worst experience ever. The guy that was checking in at Dubai, didn’t have any professionalism or curtesy. During the flight, You had to wait a while just to get something to drink. They didn’t transfer all my luggage, even after they made me pay $155 extra for one small gallon of Zamzam water, and that luggage is still missing after three days of my arrival. NEVER AGAIN..,

On time, smooth flight… very old and run down aircraft

Despite paying business class, the angle seat was uncomfortable. The crew was just ok. The baggage checkin was a mess at JNB.

I had 1:50 hrs to change planes in Cairo and my suitcase was delayed from Cairo to Casablanca. I was one of several passengers that faced this issue coming from various locations into Cairo and onwards to Casablanca, with a transit time of two hours or less. (I was told 16 suitcases were delayed). The transit time of 1:50 hrs is obviously not enough for EgyptAir to transfer baggage, why sell tickets with such short transfer time if they can't handle it? Moreover, they would not reimburse me for expenses I incurred because of delayed luggage. I will not be taking EgyptAir again.

Chaotic boarding began 5 minutes before departure without any announcements explaining the delay. Once on board, an outdated 737 greeted me, without of WiFi. The crew hastily placed trays in front of passengers without any interaction or smiles, only to swiftly retrieve them and vanish for the remainder of the flight. The food provided was inedible, but there were decent juice options like guava and strawberry. The only reason I chose this flight was because of its schedule; otherwise, I would have opted for a different airline.

The bathroms were disgusting by the end of the fight.

The crew in Business class for me departure and return were very pushy and rude. They would place the food in front of you and majority of the time remove your meal and toss it without asking if you were done. At one point on the return flight one of them crew members completely missed my sister and when I told another crew member who told that person in their language, she got an attitude and didn't offer her some of the other options they had like yogurt. They need to also take into account that not everyone can eat nuts and that shouldn't be on everyone's plate. Also the plane is dirty! I had to thoroughly wipe down every inch of my area and it was just nasty. The reclining seat struggled to fully extend. For the amount of money I paid for business class I expected better.

Greater clarity in organizing line-ups for the various boarding groups would have made it easier for all. Due to the many children, the announcements could not be heard clearly enough, so a simplicity in organization would have helped.

Like the staff. Food was ok. Entertainment was old and many monitors did not work.

Again, entertainment system didn't work. 50% of aircraft don't seem to have a functional entertainment system and the crew is absolutely uninterested in fixing. They just say Addis needs to fix it. Well, Addis had better get off it's butt and fix their aircraft.

Bathrooms were absolutely atrocious. Absolutely third world. Unusable. From non-flushing toilets to poor maintenance - missing toilet paper, dirty with mess, etc. Horrifying. Does Ethiopian Airways expect customers to clean the bathroom before use. For sure inconsiderate passengers don't do anything to clear/clean after use.

Boarding was mayhem. Entertainment system wasn't operational. Food was poor. It was like flying in the 1990's. For the price of the ticket, this was not value for money. It felt much more like an extreme discount airline.

My entertainment screen wasn't working and they couldn't fix it.

Choice of Vegetarian Food in Economy class needs overhaul improvement

The crew were extremely unfriendly. The plane was dirty and the entertainment system did not work, so they did not even give out earphones to anyone.

Seat in front of my wife was broken so it reclined further than normal and without having to push the recline button so my wife had absolutely no room the entire 17 hour flight. My seat was broken and wouldn't recline at all. Also.. my tray table was sticky and dirty right away before I even used it. Also...the floor in the back of the plane from our row of seats on back was totally soaked and both times we landed water came rushing out of the food/servant area like a flood onto the same already wet carpet. It got everything wet that was placed around our feet...including our shoes and socks.

Luggage delayed for one day. I called customer service, and they had no info and no empathy. Boarding was very disorganized and chaotic. We went nearly 7 hours with no food or snacks on the flight. This is not an airline that has respect for its passengers.

it was a nice tripe but they need to work on the serving of soda, they should be abled to serve cain soda not on cup.At least each passenger should be entitled to one cain of soda not serving on cup.thanks.

Same but worse than international. The inter African flights are worse.

Staff and service on board is always exemplary. Food however could be better.

The cabin crew were very good, respectful, and nice. However, the flight was delayed more than an hour. They could have managed the problem easily but they couldn't and that affected our travel. Thanks

Great staff. Horribly uncomfortable seating. The seats have been replaced 10 years ago. It was like sitting on an ironing board for 15 hours. This was true for both legs of the round trip flights. Would not take Kenya Airways between New York and Nairobi ever again.

The cabin is due for a refresh - the seats are very thin and not very comfortable. The AVOD system also did not work on one of the seats and the touch screen were very glitchy. The overall cleanliness of the aircraft could be improved

Food was great. They never to add more current entertainment like movies and shows

Paid an extra USD 100 for so-called Comfort seats. All of these (the bulkhead seats) had parents with babies and infants who were screaming much of the time. One mother even decided to change nappies on the seat. This was anything but comfort!

Good flight. Paid for seats sat the frront section of the economy. Better than rear cabin.

Apart from delay of 3 hrs in Nairobi for onward flight to Dar all fine. Looked like operational issues caused it.

I booked a round trip flight and boarded a Kenya Airways trip from New York (JFK) to Nairobi (JKIA). First flight from New York to Nairobi was uneventful with no issues. However, the return flight was beyond disappointing. To begin with I had paid an extra $60 each for premium seats (me and my wife) in economy aisle 15 (B & A). However, upon settling down in the middle seat, I noticed that the controller had been ripped off meaning I would not have access to some of the seat functionalities like the individual lighting etc. I proceeded to alert a flight attendant that the controller was missing and she politely responded to me by telling me if I need anything, to use my wife’s seat controller (on the window seat) to call for assistance and I would be assisted accordingly. I was surprised by the response that she gave as it felt like my comfort and request for a service that I paid for was undermined, but nonetheless I opted to play it nice and kept my calm. After this I engaged in a conversation with a passenger (Caucasian / White male) who sat next to me on the aisle seat. In the process of having this conversation I asked him if he had paid for his seat. He went ahead to politely tell me that he had been moved from a seat in the back by one of the flight attendants and had not paid any extra fees. During this conversation, he noticed that the charging docks were not working and he needed to charge his iPad to watch his Netflix show (it was on pause). Alarmed by this, he went ahead and flagged one of the flight attendants who without wasting any time acted astonished and as fast as lightning was able to find him a better seat a few rows in front. Please note, all the charging plugs were not working for the three seats. In summary, below are the reasons for the low rating: 1. Charging for a broken seat: Kenya Airways should not charge for a defective seat. If a seat is defective and is paid for, the airlines should work out a way to either refund the customer or move the customer to a better seat – regardless of skin color. 2. Below Par Customer Service: Do not debilitate a customer’s request especially when a paid for service is not delivered – regardless of skin color. Assuming that I am comfortable with having to either keep alerting the flight attendant or relying on my wife’s seat to perform some of the functionality I may need is ridiculous. 3. Biasness / Inequality / Prejudiced Behavior: The Caucasian/ White male was treated with more favor. Not only was he moved around to make sure he was comfortable (free of charge) but all his complaints were resolved immediately without any hesitance. On the contrary, I being a black man of African descent who had paid an additional premium for his seat, I was completely ignored and told to settle for what I got.

It has been 1 week since arriving at my destination and I still have not recieved my kite surfing bags. Office will not communicate properly on location or when my bags will arrive. No advice on what to do on luggage that has not arrived in over a week. Simply not happy with Kenya airways at the moment.

Kagiso Rabada embraces teammate Anrich Nortje after South Africa beat England. — AFP

Published: Sat 22 Jun 2024, 1:36 AM

South Africa captain Aiden Markram praised his bowlers after his team defended a modest total to beat England by seven runs in the Super Eights at the T20 World Cup pn Friday.

Quinton de Kock got a second straight fifty while Anrich Nortje bowled a tight final over to help their side edge England and move closer to a semifinal berth with back-to-back wins in the Super Eight stage.

The victory in Gros Islet moved South Africa to the top of the group with four points from two matches. England, second with two points, can still make it to the semis.

Put in to bat first, openers De Kock (65 off 38) and Reeza Hendricks (19) got South Africa off to a good start, scoring 63 runs in the powerplay as an in-form De Kock reached a half-century in just 22 balls, his second fifty in row.

"I've played a few (Caribbean Premier League) games here," player of the match De Kock said, crediting his league experience for his knowledge of the playing conditions at the Daren Sammy Cricket Ground.

But South Africa added only 29 runs in the next six overs with both openers falling to Moeen Ali (1-25) and Jofra Archer (3-40), while Adil Rashid (1-20) kept a tight lid on the scoreboard.

However, David Miller (43 off 28) stepped up under pressure to get the runs flowing again, helping South Africa get to a competitive 163-6.

As England began their chase, Kagiso Rabada (2-32) dismissed Phil Salt (11) early on before Keshav Maharaj (2-25) got the better of Jonny Bairstow (16) and Jos Buttler (17), leaving the champions looking shaky at 61-4 in the 11th over.

But Harry Brook (53 off 37) and Liam Livingstone (33 off 17) stabilised their innings, and with 77 needed from the last six overs, they went for the big hits, scoring 54 runs from the next three overs until Livingstone fell to Rabada.

England needed 14 from the last over, but Nortje (1-35) got Brook out on the first ball and allowed only six runs, restricting England to 156-6.

"Getting to those last three overs, the odds looked heavily against you," Markram said. "But the bowlers coming back it shows a lot of skill but it also shows the fight inside.

"As a whole, I'd say we're getting closer to that complete game of cricket."

Unbeaten in the tournament, South Africa play hosts West Indies in their last Super Eight match on Sunday, while England face the United States.

24 Best Things to Do in Dubai

From exploring traditional souks to skiing indoors, here's how to get to this know this dazzling city.

In Dubai , it's possible to chill on the beach, stroll in the desert, and have a cocktail at the top of skyscraper all in the same day. “Dubai’s got a glorious magnetism to it," says Nada Badran, a Dubai resident for more than 30 years and experience curator and tour guide with Wander With Nada . "There’s so much palpable energy in the air, and every day the city offers a new opportunity for creative fulfillment."

Despite the above, Dubai is sometimes shrouded by misconceptions, says Isabella Sullivan, founder and editor of Near+Far , a travel magazine for modern Middle East travelers. “The first misconception is that it’s all glossy, fake, and superficial, which couldn’t be further from the truth," she told Travel + Leisure . Another misconception is that it’s not a safe place to visit. On the contrary, Dean Hayter, travel product manager at Origin , says that “living in Dubai is the safest I have ever felt in any city."

So if any of the above has kept you from booking a trip to this vibrant city, you can set your mind at ease. And once you've arrived, here are the best things to do in Dubai.

Related : The Best Times To Visit Dubai for Beautiful Weather, Lower Prices, and Fewer Crowds

Learn about local coffee culture.

The Arab world is known for its coffee — from traditional Turkish coffee to modern delights like cereal lattes — and Dubai has myriad cafes in which to get your daily fix. “[There are] so many cool, unique, artsy, and design-led coffee shops," says Sullivan. "Some have beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces, while a new slew of them have moody interiors and unique, immersive themes." Sullivan’s favorites are The Grey , Nightjar Coffee and Tom&Serg .

Cruise Dubai Creek.

In the past, Dubai Creek was part of the trade route connecting ports in the Arabian Gulf. Today, it's a beautiful way to see the city , and one of Hayter's top suggestions in Dubai. “Go to Dubai Creek before sunset and hire an abra (traditional wooden boat) for a private cruise," Hayter says. "When you're in the middle of the creek and the sky turns pink and the call to prayer fills the sky, it is magical.”

Go stargazing in the desert.

Fascinated by the night sky? Book a night safari with ecotourism company Platinum Heritage , which includes guidance from an astronomer and use of a telescope. “The sky is so dark that you get to see the most incredible blanket of stars," says Hayter. "If you're with an astronomer who can explain everything you're looking at, it's an amazing experience."

Play a round of golf.

Golf may not come to mind immediately when planning a vacation to the Middle East, but Dubai has several recognizable courses, including The Emirates Golf Club – Majlis Course , which is considered one of the best in the destination. Kelvin Cheung, chef partner at Jun’s and a Dubai resident for two years, suggests checking to see if any of your credit cards include free rounds of golf as a perk. Note that the best time to golf here is between November and March, when the weather is more comfortable.

Relax at a Dubai beach.

“Dubai has some great and uncrowded public beaches, where you can just enjoy the warm Arabian sea and sunshine at no cost,” says Sullivan. Try Kite Beach, since it also offers fantastic showers and bathrooms, plus a handful of food stands and coffee shops. For an extra treat, rent a Careem bike and cruise along Kite Beach’s lengthy boardwalk.

Enjoy the diverse dining scene.

Between the innovative design of its restaurants and the exceptional diversity of its culinary offerings, Dubai is a fantastic place for foodies. When planning your meals, consider chic restaurants like Amazonico , which takes you on a sensory journey through the Amazon; SEVA , a laid back, plant-based cafe within a wellness center; and Jun’s , a fusion restaurant with the Burj Khalifa skyscraper as its backdrop and where the chef aims to introduce himself to each table. “The city offers a wide range of flavors and textures, and truly pushes boundaries," says chef Cheung of Jun's. "Because the Dubai food scene offers top-quality food and service in every corner of the city, my team and I stay motivated to deliver excellence with every experience. There are very few places in the world that cater to such a diverse set of people.”

Indulge in the facilities of a luxe hotel.

Visiting a world-class hotel in Dubai and enjoying its wellness offerings is a must. “Dubai has so many gorgeous hotels, and more often than not, you can purchase day passes to enjoy their facilities, including beaches, pools, and spas; some also have tennis and padel courts,” says Sullivan. "Apps like Privlee and Viya are great for tourists and residents; you pay a fee and have unlimited access to partner hotels, beach clubs, and gym facilities, so you can try somewhere new every day.”

Get lost in the streets of Old Dubai.

“I am probably at my happiest when wandering in Old Dubai’s streets, sikkas (alleys), and souks , which are swarming with activity," says Badran of Wander With Nada. "The labyrinthine souks are where everyone wants to sell you something; ‘Shakira’ and ‘professor’ are heard countless times, as vendors appear to have unanimously agreed it's the best way to capture customers’ attention. People duck into beckoning small shops where stools are commonplace, as is a cup of chai, and every transaction involves a lengthy bargaining debate. Sounds of carts mingle with scents of aromatic spices and musky perfume."

Explore Al Serkal Avenue.

Al Serkal Avenue is an industrial warehouse district that has been transformed into a creative hub. “It’s an oasis of art, community spaces, and all things quirky," says Badran. "To visit is to be transported to another world of art galleries, cozy cafes, boutique shops, and plenty more." The venue's galleries are open to the public at no cost, and it's fun to wander here even if you’re not an art buff.

Go on a desert adventure.

Tour through the desert in a 4x4, or go extreme off-roading in a dune buggy or on a quad bike with Expert Rangers . And if you want the full Arabian desert experience, book the package that includes sandboarding, camel riding, an Arab dinner, and entertainment.

Get the best view of Dubai.

If you're a thrill seeker, consider a dive with Skydive Dubai . Divers fall 13,000 feet through the sky over the Palm Jumeriah — what a memory to take home with you.

Book a traditional spa treatment.

A hammam is a traditional cleansing ritual that involves hot steam, a revitalizing scrub, rhassoul clay, and vitamin-E rich products — you are bound to exit this experience feeling the softest you’ve ever felt. We recommend booking a hammam treatment at the Guerlain Spa at the One&Only The Palm.

Head to Hatta.

Hatta is in the Hajar Mountains, about 60 miles outside of Dubai. This is the perfect place to appreciate nature — go for a hike with spectacular views, kayak in the reservoir, or mountain bike on designated trails. There's also a heritage village that’s home to restored traditional houses and a defense tower.

Scuba dive in a pool.

Deep Dive Dubai isn’t your typical swimming pool — it’s the deepest in the world at about 197 feet deep. Scuba, freediving, and snorkel courses are offered here, and if you're already certified, you're welcome to explore this underwater world designed to look like a sunken city.

Visit the Museum of the Future.

This building is an architectural wonder in shape and design. The exterior is wrapped in Arabic poetry, and the structure's circular shape represents humanity while the abyss in the middle signifies the indefinite future. Inside you will find immersive exhibitions that ask observers to reflect on the world, the future, and themselves. Purchase tickets in advance, as the museum is a popular attraction and day-of tickets aren't always available.

Visit Expo City Dubai.

This venue is a future-forward miniature city that maintains much of what was offered during the World Expo (Expo City was part of the exhibitions, which took place in 2022, delayed due to the pandemic). The sustainable city offers educational experiences and attractions that revolve around global topics, plus multiple playgrounds and parks .

Spend a day at Dubai’s newest resort.

Beyonce performed an exclusive show for the opening ceremony of Atlantis The Royal — what a way to get the world's attention. This ultra-luxurious resort is worth checking out, even if you aren’t staying the night. It’s home to eight restaurants helmed by celebrity chefs (including Nobu by the Beach), a sky-high infinity pool, a club with panoramic views of the skyline, and dozens of other experiences.

Book a tour with Wander with Nada.

Nada of Wander With Nada is a fun and peppy guide, sure, but she's also incredibly knowledgeable about Dubai, and therefore just the guide you want to get to know the destination. Choose from several tour options, including one that highlights Dubai landmarks and another that focuses on Old Dubai.

Party at a beach club.

Beach clubs in Dubai are worth the hype, with Twiggy by La Cantine and Nammos being two of our favorites. Rent a cabana or beach chair and spend the entire day (or just a few hours) soaking in the sun with a drink in hand, listening to vibey beats.

Shop in Dubai Gold Souk.

The streets may as well be paved with gold in Dubai's Gold Souk , a fascinating marketplace with nearly 400 vendors. You will see gold of all karats and styles, from simple to elaborate. Note that if you do plan to purchase something special, don’t be shy about negotiating for a better price, as that is custom here.

Shop in a Dubai mall.

Dubai has no shortage of malls, where you'll find just about every brand you can name. Visit Dubai Mall to see one of the largest malls in the world (it's also home to the Dubai Aquarium); the textile souk for traditional shopping; or the Dubai Design District (D3), which is home to pop-up fashion boutiques and rotating art installations.

Go skiing indoors.

If you can dream it, Dubai can execute it, and Ski Dubai is proof. Want to ski indoors then step outside into warm weather? This is the place. Maintaining freezing temperatures all year long, this ski resort provides guests with ski suits to keep them cozy. Lessons are available, and there's even a chair lift — and penguins — inside.

Order a tailor-made outfit.

If there’s one thing foreigners may not know about the Middle East, it’s that the tailors are amazing, and that most locals have everything from simple, everyday outfits to wedding gowns tailor-made for them. A trip to Dubai is therefore an opportunity to have your dream design brought to life. Visit the textile souk for fabric, get measured by a tailor, and voila, you’ll have a new outfit within days. Getting fit for traditional dishdasha (for men) or abaya (for women) is a nice way to bring a bit of Dubai home, too.

Ride the Dubai Metro.

The Dubai Metro is an extensive and well-maintained public transportation system that connects major locations in Dubai at an affordable price. Residents typically use these trains for their daily commute, so hop on a train to feel like a local.

LIV Golf, Louis Oosthuizen, Dean Burmester, PGA Tour, Olympics

This past Monday, the International Golf Federation released the golfers who will represent their home countries at the 2024 Olympics in Paris later this summer. That list includes seven LIV Golf players who will represent their nations.

Then, on Thursday, ahead of the LIV Golf Nashville event, Louis Oosthuizen , Branden Grace, and Dean Burmester —all South African players—detailed what it felt like not to make the South African Olympic team. PGA Tour players Erik van Rooyen and Christiaan Bezuidenhout will represent the country instead.

Grace felt strongly that the Olympic committee got it wrong.

“These are the two guys [Burmester and Oosthuizen] that should be representing South Africa this year,” Grace said ahead of the Nashville tournament.

“I think that’s maybe a good call for each country to pick or try to get their own solution on how they get the criteria right for guys to qualify. But the system at this stage is not very accurate. We all know that. We all talk about it, week in and week out, but these should be the two guys probably representing South Africa.”

Burmester won his first LIV Golf title in Miami earlier this year . Not to mention, he has three other top-10 finishes. The worst performance came at LIV Las Vegas, but for the most part, he has played well.

At the two major championships, Burmester tied for 12th at the PGA Championship . He then captured 69th place at the U.S. Open last week.

Oosthuizen, meanwhile, has two runner-up finishes this year at LIV Adelaide and LIV Jeddah. Two more top-10s followed suit at Mayakoba and Miami. While he has been successful, the Olympics are not high on his radar.

“I grew up with the four majors being your main events, and I don’t really see the fit of professional golfers playing golf in the Olympics,” Oosthuizen said.

“I had the opportunity to go to one of the Olympics and pulled out at the end. It was more getting scheduling-wise getting everything—I think it was close to a major, and that was my main focus always, majors, so the Olympics didn’t fit into my schedule that year.”

Oothusizen represented his country at the World Cup and in the Presidents Cup before, so missing the Olympics is not a big deal to him. Regardless of tour affiliation, he wished the two participants good luck.

“I hope the boys play well and that they perform well, and it’s still going to be a strong South African team playing,” Oosthuizen said.

Burmester followed suit, praising van Rooyen and Bezuidenhout for their performances. Van Rooyen has one runner-up finish, three top 10s, and seven top 25s. As for Bezuidenhout, he has second place at the American Express. He also has three top 10s and nine top 25s. Bezuidenhout was solo fourth at The Memorial in one of his most recent starts.

“Christiaan and Erik are going to do South Africa proud, and they’ve also played some great golf in their own right,” Burmester said.

“I think Louis and I look like Olympians, first of all,” Burmester said. “It would be an honor to go to the Olympics and represent your country. I think it’s the field we have, and those two guys are going to have that opportunity, so it’s super special, and we can only wish them well.”

Taking the high road and wishing two of their fellow South Africans luck in Paris is the proper way to handle it. While they did not get chosen to play in the Olympics, it seems they understand why.
