Royal Caribbean cruise ship cabin and suite guide: Everything you want to know
Picking a cabin on a Royal Caribbean ship can be a daunting task.
For starters, there is an eye-popping number of cabins available on many Royal Caribbean ships. The line is known for operating the world's biggest cruise vessels — ships so big that some have nearly 3,000 cabins each.
But it's not just the sheer volume of cabins that makes picking a room on a Royal Caribbean ship challenging. It's also the number of cabin categories.

On some Royal Caribbean ships, there are as many as 34 different types of cabins — each a little different than the last.
The backstory here is that Royal Caribbean ships are designed to appeal to a wide demographic, including travelers with varying budgets. That prompted Royal Caribbean to offer a wide mix of cabin types.
The line offers rooms that range from relatively low-cost, windowless "inside" cabins measuring just 149 square feet (perfect for the budget traveler) to massive, multi-room suites that can be more than 10 times that size.
A Royal Caribbean cabin primer
Like many other cruise ships, Royal Caribbean vessels offer cabins in four broad categories: windowless inside cabins, ocean-view cabins, balcony cabins and suites.
On the newer Royal Caribbean ships, the vast majority of the cabins are balcony cabins. Over the years, cruise lines have discovered that cruisers will pay a significant premium to have a balcony with their cabin, prompting a rush to add more balcony cabins to ships.
Related: The 5 best cabin locations on any cruise ship
For instance, on Royal Caribbean's four-year-old Symphony of the Seas , 65% of the 2,759 cabins are balcony cabins; the next-largest category of cabins are inside cabins followed by ocean-view cabins and suites. Here's the exact breakdown:
- Inside cabins: 599 (22%).
- Ocean-view cabins: 176 (6%).
- Balcony cabins: 1,796 (65%).
- Suites: 188 (7%).
There are far fewer balcony cabins on older Royal Caribbean ships (and all older cruise ships in general). Only 12% of the cabins on Royal Caribbean's oldest vessel, the 1996-built Grandeur of the Seas, are balcony cabins.
Inside cabins and ocean-view cabins make up the majority (78% in total) of cabins on Grandeur of the Seas. Suites account for 9% of the cabins on the ship. Here's the exact breakdown:
- Inside cabins: 399 (40%).
- Ocean-view cabins: 381 (38%).
- Balcony cabins: 122 (12%).
- Suites: 94 (9%).
The takeaway here is that you'll have a tougher time locking down a balcony cabin on an older Royal Caribbean ship than on a newer vessel. If you're planning a cruise on one of the line's older vessels and a balcony cabin is a must, you'll want to book early to ensure you get one.
You'll also want to book early if you're aiming for a suite. An old saw in the cruise industry is that "ships sell from the top and the bottom." That is, the first cabins on any vessel to sell out are the most-expensive cabins, which are the suites, and the least-expensive cabins, which typically are the inside cabins. The "middle" sells last.

You'll find multiple subcategories within each of the four broad categories of cabins on Royal Caribbean ships. Symphony of the Seas, for instance, has 15 different types of suites alone; suites range from a junior suite with a balcony (Category J3) that measures 287 square feet to a Royal Loft Suite (Category RL) that measures five times that amount.
If you count two types of Symphony of the Seas suites that come in two versions — a standard version and a slightly altered, "accessible" version — there are actually 17 different categories of suites on the vessel.
Royal Caribbean cabins generally have a modern look with clean lines and contemporary furniture, plus lots of storage cleverly worked into the design.
Inside cabins on Royal Caribbean ships
Inside cabins are designed for passengers on a tight budget. On Royal Caribbean ships, these rooms are almost always the least-expensive option when booking a cabin. You can often save considerable money by booking an inside cabin versus an ocean-view or higher-level cabin.
What you'll give up, of course, is that ocean view. Your room will have four walls and no windows offering a glimpse of the outside world (at least, not a traditional window — more on that in a moment).
You'll also be in a very small room. Inside cabins on Symphony of the Seas measure just 149 square feet, quite a bit less than the typical ocean-view cabin on the vessel (those range from 179 to 272 square feet). The typical balcony cabin on Symphony of the Seas is 182 square feet, not including a 50-square-foot balcony.
As I mentioned above, there is one way to get a glimpse of the outside world from an inside cabin on a Royal Caribbean ship. In one of the great cruising innovations, Royal Caribbean has created some inside cabins with a "virtual balcony" that offers a view of the outside.
Related: The upside of booking an inside cabin
The virtual balcony is a high-definition screen built into one end of the windowless room that projects a real-time view of the ocean outside. It's designed to make you think you're actually in a balcony cabin with a view, and it is quite realistic-looking.
Just don't try to walk through the faux balcony opening.
Ocean-view cabins on Royal Caribbean ships
With an ocean-view cabin, you get a window looking out to the sea but not an attached balcony where you can sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.
Royal Caribbean's newer ships have relatively few such cabins, as cabins that face outward are usually built with balconies now.
Related: The 6 classes of Royal Caribbean ships, explained
In general, ocean-view cabins on Royal Caribbean ships are bigger than inside cabins and around the same size as balcony cabins (when comparing their interior space). But you can sometimes find ocean-view cabins that are significantly bigger than a typical balcony cabin. This is sometimes the case for ocean-view cabins at the front or back of ships, where there can be relatively large but oddly shaped rooms with windows but no balconies.
Royal Caribbean has built ocean-view cabins at the front of some ships that incorporate the angled space in the front part of the superstructure. As a result, they have sloping windows, and a bit more floor space around these windows (see the image below).
Royal Caribbean's Radiance-class ships, notably, have a category called Ultra Spacious Ocean View; it includes cabins at the front and back of the ship that measure 319 square feet — nearly twice as much as the typical ocean-view cabin on the vessels (which measures 170 square feet). Each of these bigger ocean-view cabins has two twin beds that can convert into a royal king bed, one double sofa bed and either one Pullman bed and one twin bed or two Pullman beds.
These bigger cabins can hold up to six people, making them popular with families.
Balcony cabins on Royal Caribbean ships
Balcony cabins are what everyone wants these days, and Royal Caribbean is delivering, with huge numbers of balcony cabins on all its newest ships. On the line's five Oasis-class ships, which began debuting in 2009, around 65% of rooms are balcony cabins. On the line's even-newer Quantum-class ships, which began debuting in 2014, the percentage is even higher — around 69%.
The typical Royal Caribbean balcony cabin has a contemporary look, with clean lines and relatively minimalist furniture. It will typically offer twin beds that can be converted into a royal king bed, a desk and a sofa that often pulls out into an additional bed. It typically measures around 180 square feet, not including the balcony area.
A few Royal Caribbean ships have balcony cabins that face toward the vessel's center, not toward the outside. If this seems like a paradox, it is. It results from an unusual design feature of one series of Royal Caribbean ships, the Oasis class.
Related: 6 reasons to book a balcony cabin
The Oasis-class vessels are so wide that they have room for an interior, open-air "Boardwalk" amusement area at their backs lined with inward-facing cabins. On Oasis-class ships, you thus can get a balcony cabin facing the sea or a balcony cabin facing inward, toward the Boardwalk area.
Suites on Royal Caribbean ships
Royal Caribbean is known for having some of the cruise world's most spectacular suites, including (on some ships) suites that sprawl over two decks.
Royal Caribbean isn't a luxury cruise line. However, the top suites on its vessels offer an experience keeping with what you'll find on some of the world's top luxury ships. Depending on the ship, these suites can come with such perks as private butlers (called Royal Genies) who attend to your every need, access to a private restaurant, access to a private suite lounge and sun deck, reserved seating in entertainment venues and priority boarding and disembarkation.
Related: 7 reasons you should splurge on a suite on your next cruise
They also have a much higher price tag than the typical Royal Caribbean cabin. These rooms are aimed at well-heeled travelers who, for whatever reason, prefer the sort of mass-market, megaship cruise experience that Royal Caribbean offers over the more intimate, white-glove experience you'll find on the small ships that luxury lines operate.
As noted above, there is a wide range of suite categories on some Royal Caribbean ships. Among the line's most spectacular suites are the Royal Loft Suites on some of the newer Royal Caribbean vessels. Two decks high, they offer a soaring living room space framed by a glass wall that offers stunning views.
Related: The 5 most spectacular suites at sea
The Royal Loft Suites on Oasis-class ships measure nearly 1,800 square feet and feature two bedrooms, a large living room with a soaring ceiling and a dining area. The Royal Loft Suites on Quantum-class vessels are nearly 1,640 square feet and also sprawl over two decks.
Royal Caribbean is also famous for its Ultimate Family Suite : a two-deck-high suite complex designed for families with young kids. It offers a slide from a second-floor kids room to the main level and extras like a foosball table. Currently, there are only Ultimate Family Suites on three Royal Caribbean ships: Wonder of the Seas , Symphony of the Seas and Spectrum of the Seas.
Note that these family suites often carry an astronomical price, falling in the $20,000-a-week range.
Smaller suites on Royal Caribbean ships include Grand Loft Suites, which can measure around 700 to 850 square feet. That's much smaller than the Royal Loft Suites but about four times the size of a standard balcony cabin.
Bottom line
Royal Caribbean has something for everyone when it comes to cabins on its ships. You can book a small, inside cabin that will get you on board one of the line's vessels at a very reasonable cost, or a huge suite that will set you back many times more but come with all sorts of perks.

These 10 amenities make Royal Caribbean Group's new ultra-luxury cruise ship worth its $4,550-a-week price
I spent five nights on Silversea's new ultra-luxury cruise ship, Silver Ray .
Fares in 2024 start at $4,550 per person for a seven-day cruise.
My favorite amenities on Silver Ray included a sauna with ocean views and a fun cooking class.
The hardest part about your Silver Ray cruise could be deciding what you want to indulge in first.
Silversea, Royal Caribbean Group's most luxurious cruise line, recently welcomed its 12th ship, the 728-guest Silver Ray. But as with any new floating five-star hotel , the cost to sail won't be ultra-cheap, with weeklong cruises starting at a whopping $4,550 per person in 2024.
I might've scoffed at this cost before boarding Silversea's second Nova Class vessel . But after experiencing all it has to offer on a complimentary five-night test cruise in mid-June, the price tag now makes more sense — and might even be justifiable.
Take a look at my 10 favorite amenities on Silver Ray , all of which shed some light on its steep fare.
1. The butler-delivered caviar you can eat on your couch while wearing pajamas
Room service isn't always free on mass-market cruise ships .
On Silver Ray, not only are the hot dogs and hamburgers delivered to your suite complimentary — but caviar is, too.
Simply call the room service line or ask your butler for caviar, and before you know it, a tin of the expensive fish eggs will be presented at your door.
You don't want to know how pretentious and insufferable I felt as I shoveled the tiny pearly bites into my mouth while lounging on the couch.
It wasn't the best caviar I've ever had (it's one of Calvisius' cheapest options). But it definitely added the unnecessary, theatrical, and extravagant touch I had been seeking on a $650-a-day cruise.
2. The sushi lunch
Dinner at Silver Ray's Japanese restaurant, Kaiseki, costs $80 per person. But it's complimentary during lunch, making it a great place to gorge on free sushi, sashimi, beef-filled bao buns, and ramen.
Alcohol is complimentary on Silversea, too. So feel free to have a glass of sake and Japanese beer with your raw fish feast.
Like the caviar, the sushi quality wasn’t comparable to Michelin-rated omakase restaurants.
The scallop nigiri in my sushi and sashimi combo tasted more lightly poached than raw, the uni was served on unevenly cut cucumbers, and the octopus in the octopus roll was too chewy.
But complaints aside, the portions were gracious, the fish quality was acceptable, and the rolls were diverse. The spicy tuna roll had the perfect allium punch, while the vegetarian one stood its ground among the raw fish. It was far better than I expected for a cruise ship lunch.
Best of all, it was complimentary. And while it didn't change my life, it certainly satisfied my craving.
3. The upscale café without the upscale prices
Many popular cruise ships have an onboard Starbucks. Silver Ray goes one step further with a café comparable to your overpriced neighborhood coffee shop (and this one won't make you pay extra for oat milk).
At the centrally located Arts Cafe, guests can order latte art-topped espresso drinks and uncommon tea varieties — all served with Mepra spoons that cost $40 each.
If you're a fan of cucumber sandwiches and cakes, the Art Cafe is also a great place to grab a mid-day snack or host an impromptu afternoon tea.
4. The entertaining cooking class
Silversea's SALT — an acronym for "sea and land taste" — program weaves cuisines local to the ship's destination into the cruise.
At SALT Lab, this takes the form of a complimentary cooking class.
You might think, 'I'm on vacation — I don't want to cook!'
I hear you. But SALT Lab is nothing like cooking at home.
For starters, the instructor and their assistant do all the cleaning and prepare all your mise en place for you. And I guarantee they're funnier, wittier, and more lighthearted than your partner who yells at you for not following the recipe.
All you have to do is listen to their instructions, assemble, cook, and eat.
5. The restaurant showcasing dishes from the itinerary
SALT isn't just a cooking class. It's a lifestyle. (Just kidding — but not really.)
Silver Ray offers SALT cooking classes, SALT shore excursions, a $180 SALT Chef's Table dinner, a SALT Bar, and a SALT Kitchen.
If you hate repeating meals, the latter could be your savior. Half of its menu changes almost daily according to the ship's destination. So, if you didn't have time to explore a port's cuisine, you could go to SALT Kitchen instead.
When Silver Ray was docked in Lisbon, the restaurant had options like roasted pork loin with a Portuguese red bell pepper sauce, and travesseiros, a popular dessert from nearby Sintra, Portugal.
6. The half-restaurant, half-jazz bar
Silver Note is where you go to chow down on small plates of beef tenderloin and octopus tentacles while being serenaded by live jazz vocalists and pianists. If you can overlook the purple and red spotlights that give the venue a cheap dive bar feel, you'll be delighted by Silver Note's talented performers, tapas-style food, and fun plating.
The plates were pre-warmed, the lobster tail was perfectly cooked, and the musicians were world-class. I ate alone and stayed for about two hours, fully engaged by the impressive vocalist.
7. The spa’s view
Access to spa facilities like saunas is often complimentary on high-end cruises .
Silver Ray's was admittedly bare-boned, with only three rooms (a steam room, sauna, and thermal pool). But you'll quickly forget about the lack of options when you see the ocean views inside the pool and sauna.
The latter is a great place to balance your yin (peacefully staring at the passing waves) with your yang (feeling like you're about to have a heat stroke).
Unfortunately, the steam room doesn't have any views. However, it does offer complimentary scented scrubs that will leave you with baby-soft skin.
8. The pool
You're probably wondering how an amenity as commonplace as a pool could be so special.
There is, in fact, nothing spectacular about the pool itself. What is special, however, is its placement toward the starboard-side edge of the ship, giving swimmers a photogenic view of Silver Ray's surroundings instead of sunbathers' toes.
Don't worry, fellow loungers. We get a perk, too.
No need to walk to the pool bar to refill your piña colada. The waitstaff will do it for you.
9. The elevators
Before Silver Ray, I would've scoffed if you had told me one of my favorite amenities on a cruise ship would be the elevators. But alas, it seems not all of them are created equal.
On most cruise ships, the elevators are located at the center of the vessel and flanked by corridors on either side.
Like the pool, all six of Silver Ray's elevators are located by the edge of the ship — half port side, half starboard side — and lined with glass walls, giving riders sweeping views of the ship's surroundings.
Not to be dramatic, but I've never seen a more beautiful elevator.
Once inside, travelers can select their desired floor on the touchscreen.
The screen's floor descriptions are updated on port days to indicate where guests must disembark. It's a small but convenient touch I've yet to see on other cruises, saving travelers the panicked "where do I get off this ship?" question.
10. The tablet-phone-TV connectivity
The best part about my Deluxe Veranda suite wasn't the walk-in closet or balcony. It was the seamless connectivity between my phone, the in-room tablet, and the TV.
Silver Ray's cabins have portable touchscreen tablets that function as a vacation guidebook, daily scheduler, and suite control center.
The TV has the same functions, for when you're sitting on the couch and too lazy to retrieve the tablet. Or, if you're not in your cabin, your mobile Silversea profile has the same options.
As someone who religiously studies menus before going to a restaurant, I loved having every onboard restaurant's menu at my fingertips.
But the real winning feature was the "sleep" setting. No more hitting your knee on furniture as you navigate back to bed after turning the lights off. The sleep setting slowly dims the suite's light fixtures, giving guests plenty of time to saunter back to bed before everything goes dark.

Note: RCI drink prices are not inclusive of the 15% gratuity charge. Our latest update added here the new Royal Caribbean drink packages (their cost, and what is included) - listed at page bottom. For more info, you can also check RCI's menus (food and bar menus).
Royal Caribbean alcohol policy
According to the Royal Caribbean rules on drinking, the drinking age minimum for alcoholic beverages is 21 years of age on all cruises departing from North America. At the RCI's discretion, the drinking age limit can be lowered to 18 on cruises departing from ports in South America, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand) where the legal drinking age is 18. As on other cruise lines, RCI reserves the right to revoke/restrict the drinking privileges of any passenger (regardless of age). Also, RCI retains the right to raise the minimum drinking age (for alcohol consumption) on any cruise when local laws require such modification.
In June 2018, RCI ship bars started to serve cocktails with optional plastic straws (not by default) - a new policy aiming to reduce sea pollution. "Why no straws?" signs at onboard bars fleetwide now indicate that drink orders will not automatically receive a straw, but only upon request. Since 2022, all straws are recyclable.
To celebrate the company's 50th anniversary, in 2019 RCI installed fleetwide Coca-Cola Freestyle machines (1 per ship) that serve a selection of sodas including RCI's brand "Royal Berry Blast" (Sprite, Sprite Zero).
Bringing alcohol on RCI ships
The RCI policy rules for bringing alcohol on voyages state:
- bringing liquor/beer on Royal Caribbean on embarkation is strictly forbidden - not allowed. Ship security may inspect your luggage and liquid containers (soda and water bottles, mouthwash, etc). If found, the booze will be confiscated, stored and returned at the end of the voyage. Passengers under 21 wouldn't be getting any of their smuggled alcohol back. If a passenger violates the Royal Caribbean alcohol policy, the line's Guest Conduct Policy may be enforced, which also includes forcible disembarkation or not allowing boarding - at your own expense. The list of possible violations, besides any attempts to conceal alcohol at security/luggage checkpoints, also includes over-alcohol-consuming behavior, providing alcohol to minors (21- yo), demonstration of irresponsible behavior on board.
- bringing wine on Royal Caribbean (on embarkation day only). You are allowed to bring max 2 wine/Champagne bottles per cabin (bottle size 750ml or smaller). Remember - bottles must retain the original seal of the manufacturer and not to look tampered with.
- buying alcohol on Royal Caribbean. If you purchase alcohol in port or in the duty-free shop on board, they will hold it until the end (the last day) of the cruise.
Note: All passengers must comply with TSA (Transportation Security Administration) guidelines for liquids' transportation.
NEW "bring your own wine onboard" policy (cruise ship corkage fee)
By the RCI's new wine policy, If you want to drink your own wine and champagne (brought on board the ship) in public spaces (bars and restaurants), a USD 15 corkage fee per bottle will be applied to your bill.
- If a passenger received a bottle of wine/champagne purchased from Gift and Gear selection, a corkage fee will not be applied when that wine/champagne is consumed in public areas.
- Cruise passengers are allowed to bring personal wine/champagne on the ship on embarkation day only. The quantity is limited to two bottles per stateroom (2x 750 ml). These (2 per cabin) bottles can be consumed in the stateroom with no corkage fee applied.
- However, RCI's wine corkage fee rule is rarely enforced/ infrequently charged.
- Note: This policy was officially removed in 2014 Fall (back then, corkage fee was USD 25 per bottle), but reappeared in early June 2017. Unlike the old (pre-2014) onboard wine policy, currently, RCI doesn't apply corkage fees to wine/champagne purchased on the ship.
NEW non-alcoholic beverage policy
Since September 2018, RCI's updated beverage policy allows passengers to bring their own non-alcoholic drinks on the ship.
Non-alcoholic beverages must be in carry-on or hand luggage (not in checked bags). The new policy allows bringing only small quantities and only on embarkation day (at homeports). The max allowed amount is 12x (twelve) 17oz cans/bottles per cabin. Also permitted by the new policy are specialized beverages (distilled water and milk).
Which drinks are free on Royal Caribbean?

- Royal Caribbean drink packages are not shareable or transferable.
- When ordering a beverage package on the ship, guests must present their SeaPass card when showing the package sticker to waiters.
- Packages do not include in-room drink purchases, or mini-bar drinks, including bottled water, canned soft drinks, bottled juices, beers.
RCI drink packages - prices and inclusions
IMPORTANT: Prices shown below are per person, per day. These package deals are available on RCI cruises with duration 3 nights or longer.
In September 2015 RCI presented the company's new self-serve beer program on Freedom of the Seas . Holders of the RCI Ultimate, Premium and Select drink packages can already serve themselves Stella Artois beer. Ship's self-serve machines are located around the pool deck and in Windjammer buffet. All package-holders can make their purchases via a card that is swiped at the machines. The machines have built-in time limits to ensure no continuous pouring.
For beers different than Stella Artois or outside Windjammer Buffet and pool deck, package-holders have to see a bartender.
At the end of 2015, RCI started testing one-day beverage packages and a 10-drink punch card onboard its cruise ships. RCI vessels have been given the option to test various beverage package offerings. The decision of which program to feature, if any, is made by the ship. For example, a one-day beverage package on Enchantment of the Seas was offered for USD 65 per person and included unlimited cocktails, select glasses of wine, beer, as well as bottled water, specialty coffees, and juices. These offerings are tests and might/might not be rolled out in the near future.
"Sip Tour Brunch" combines a Chef-led Galley tour (ship's kitchen) with unlimited champagne. The 2,5-hours, adults-only activity also includes a Main Dining Room brunch with unlimited sparkling wine. Closed-toe shoes are required.
Bottled alcohol packages
In addition to the unlimited alcohol packages, RCI offers 2 packages available for in-cabin consumption. They can be purchased at the onboard Royal Gifts shop and each combines Coca-Cola products with a bottle of liquor.
- "Bacardi Gold plus Coca-Cola" package costs USD 40 and includes one bottle of Bacardi Gold (Puerto Rico manufactured rum, 375 ml) combined with four Coca-Cola cans.
- "Bombay Sapphire plus Tonic" package costs USD 43 and includes one bottle of Bombay Sapphire (Laverstoke Mill, Hampshire UK manufactured gin, 375 ml) combined with four Tonic water cans.
- The list of RCI ships currently selling these new bottled alcohol packages includes Explorer, Legend, Mariner, Ovation, Quantum, Radiance, Splendour, Vision and Voyager.

Drinks in the drink package

Heading on symphony next weekend and wanting to try some new drinks with the drink package! Outside of the usual Miami vice etc, what are some go to drinks? I'm wanting to try some scotch and others like that, but what's the best mixers to try? Jack and coke has been my go to. The drink menu at Boleros looks interesting.
Looking for lots of ideas!

Interested in this as well since the drink menus are very limited recently with mixed drinks compared to how they used to be. Gotta get some ideas that aren’t listed on there :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Package is great covers almost every drink other than really high end 15 year or older scotch , even includes 18 year old chevis regal. We pay extra for some of the better wines and once in a while 21 year old scotch like blue.

Since I'm not a scotch drinker (at least not yet lol) do you drink it just straight?

I normally drink it with a little ice, sometimes with club soda, but you can get high end Margherita or almost anything else with package , fun place to try new drinks because if you do not like it you can just order something else. Most bartenders can help you choose. You should just start with the list above that should be good for day one at least.
Broaden your horizons. Try a Negroni. 😄

Cool list. I would like to add to that a blue Hawaiian which is usually a frozen drink 🙂 , at least that’s been my experience on RCL. That’s my go to drink on cruises cause it’s so good. Happy Cruising.
thanks for sharing this great list. 🙂
My favorite pool drink is frozen mojito
Lavender martinis are really good too!
Loving this so far! What's a negroni?

If it's a Malt whisky then I will either drink it straight or with just a small splash of water, never any ice. Ice tends to constrict the aroma and taste were as water will enhance it a bit. For a blend then yes I will use a mixer either coke or lemonade.
Both DH and my dad are Scotch drinkers and when they have it with a mixer they get ginger ale.
So many options I never thought of! I can't remember, where's the best bar on symphony to see the ocean? I remember on allure there were a lot of bars that were interior

Same situation on Symphony. Very few public spaces with outside views, unless you have access to Viking Crown.
Is the viking lounge only open to suite guests and pinnacle now?
12 hours ago, Merion_Mom said: Broaden your horizons. Try a Negroni. 😄
That was my first thought too!
For those who are unfamiliar, essentially, it's one part Campari, one part sweet vermouth, one part gin, served with an orange slice. Campari is a bright-red liquor that is bitter/herbal/vaguely sweet. A negroni is a strong drink, so I often opt for a Campari and club soda, sometimes with a splash of sweet vermouth.
As for other drinks to try: I will say that their Ultimate Mai Tai is the best mai tai I've ever tasted.
Is the negroni available at any bar?
1 hour ago, colesc15 said: Is the negroni available at any bar?
As long as the bar has a bottle of Campari. The poolside bars might not be able to make you one, as it's much more of an evening cocktail than a poolside drink. But I've never had an issue with getting a drink with Campari in any of the inside bars.
19 hours ago, colesc15 said: Since I'm not a scotch drinker (at least not yet lol) do you drink it just straight?
For good Scotch, yes. NO ice. A bit of water will enhance the flavors and aromas.
For cheap Scotch, you will NEED to mix it. 😄
I have not seen anything on board that I would call a GOOD Scotch whisky. But I am pretty seriously into them.
Viking crown lounge.. Is that only for suites now?
vacationlover_mn
One sad thing I noticed on Symphony- the drinks seemed VERY light on the booze 😞
22 minutes ago, colesc15 said: Viking crown lounge.. Is that only for suites now?
Yes, on Oasis class, Grand Suites (or better) and Pinnacle. JS guests can also be up there for their Coastal Kitchen dinners. Other ships still have portions open for all cruisers.
