Ease into the evening with a delicious Emirati dinner with shared starters and hearty mains. Indulge in aromatic shisha and be entertained with traditional performances like Yola and Drumming. The whole family can join in on the festivities as you get invited to partake in the drumming. Customize your tour by choosing how you want to explore the desert for your 60-minute safari. The Vintage Land Rover ensures a throwback to when the first vehicles were introduced to the UAE in the 1950s, feel the wind in your hair and take irreplaceable pictures in these classic cars. Feel like a true Bedouin from the past when choosing to traverse the desert on a camel safari. The so-called “ships of the desert” have been an integral part of the UAE’s heritage.  You also have the option to stay overnight in traditional stone-dwelling rooms equipped with comfortable bedding. Upgrade your desert experience with a breathtaking sunrise hot air balloon flight, before returning to the heritage camp for a delicious gourmet breakfast.

• Pick-up from Dubai hotels between 02:00 PM and 04:30 PM, depending on the season. We will inform you of the exact pick-up time around noon on the day of your desert safari.
• Arrive at the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve and receive your Headscarf and a Stainless Steel Water Bottle. These are included in each booking and are a gift for our guests to take home.
• Embark on a 60-minute nature safari (choose between a Vintage Land Rover or Camel Caravan when booking).
• Marvel at a spectacular sunset falcon show against an Arabian sunset backdrop.
• Arrive at an authentic torch-lit Bedouin Camp and receive a warm Arabic welcoming with coffee and dates.
• Enjoy live breadmaking, coffeemaking, camel rides and shisha.
• Indulge in a four-course traditional dinner.  View Menu.
• Watch and partake in interactive Emirati performances like drumming and Yola.
• Return to the hotel between 09:30 PM and 11:30 PM, depending on the season. Your total experience will last approximately seven hours.
• Extend your desert experience by staying overnight in a traditional Arabic stone dwelling room. You will be provided with all the amenities like a comfortable bed, pillows, sheets and a peaceful night's sleep. Awake to a gourmet breakfast.
• Enhance the experience even more with a spectacular sunrise hot air balloon flight the next morning. The overnight Bedouin camp is located only 15 minutes away from the hot air balloon take-off site. After the flight, you will return to the camp to enjoy a delicious breakfast before returning to the city.  

Finer details

• A portion of your desert safari fee is contributed towards local conservation in Dubai.
• Pick-up from Dubai hotels is included and will be in a shared, air-conditioned vehicle (unless booked otherwise). We can pick you up from the nearest hotel if you live in a private residence unless a private car is booked.
• As the desert can get quite warm during the day all year round, we suggest bringing a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and cool, comfortable clothes. For desert safaris in the winter (November to March), we recommend bringing something warm to wear for the evening.
• Bookings need to be made at least three hours in advance when booking online. For short-term bookings, don't hesitate to get in touch with our reservations team at +971 4 412 6333
• Children between the age of 5-11 years will be charged at a child’s rate.
• A private car booking is required if travelling with children under five years old.
• This safari includes a traditional dinner; however, please inform us of any dietary requirements or allergies when booking. We can accommodate vegetarian, vegan, kosher-style, gluten-free.
• Bathroom facilities are available at the camp.
• The nature drive is not recommended for guests more than six months pregnant.
• Some vehicles can accommodate up to ten guests.
• We restrict numbers to 75-100 guests in our very spacious camps for our guests' comfort.

Overnight Stay

• For room allocation requests, please reach out to our Experience Consultants as rooms have different capacities and will be assigned automatically for group bookings.
• Please take into account that we are an eco-friendly desert operator and this is an immersive nature experience. Although rare, there may be some harmless insects at our desert camps. Regular pest control are conducted at our premises, however, we strive to protect the desert ecosystem as much as possible.
• If you booked a shared vehicle, we can accommodate one overnight backpack or carry-on per guest (not exceeding 50cm in height). Please leave big luggage pieces at your hotel.
• For private vehicles with bigger pieces of luggage, please contact us at +971 4 440 9827 for more information. 
• Enjoy a restful sleep with no sounds or lights to interrupt as the camp's power gets switched off from 11:00 PM - 06:00 AM.
• Your room is equipped with a bed and comfortable bedding.
• Ensure to wear clothes appropriate for the weather as there are no air-conditioning or heaters in the overnight rooms.
• There are shared bathroom facilities, however no showers on-site.

Starting times vary from 8 am, 9 am or 10 am in the morning, and 3 pm in the afternoon which means that you will catch the sunset before you depart. Again, you will be collected from your hotel or desired location.

As with the first tour, this safari offers a couple of customization options. Those include upgrading from a shared tour to a private tour and adding quad biking if you wish.

However, there is no inclusion for food with this excursion so ensure that you eat well prior to leaving and pack some snacks to keep your energy levels up.

The most important thing to keep in mind when booking your hotel room is the location. Dubai is huge and spread out, so you want to make sure you’re staying in an area that’s close to the sights and attractions you want to see.

Generally speaking, here are the best areas to stay in Dubai:

Deira – If you’re looking for a more traditional Arabic experience, you can’t go wrong with Deira. It’s also one of the more affordable areas in Dubai.

Bur Dubai – This is a great option if you want to be close to the action. Bur Dubai is home to many of the city’s best hotels, restaurants, and nightlife venues.

Palm Jumeirah – If you’re looking for a luxurious and relaxing vacation, look no further than Palm Jumeirah. This artificial island is home to some of Dubai’s most exclusive hotels and resorts.

Downtown Dubai – This is the best area for those who want to be close to the city’s most popular attractions, like the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall.

How to get to Dubai

Being the biggest hub between Europe and Asia and one of the busiest airports in the world, Dubai International Airport (DXB) welcomes a huge number of airlines and connects the city with the rest of the world.

Located only 15 km (9.3 miles) from Downtown Dubai, flying to DXB is the most convenient way to get to the city. Once you land, there are several ways to get into the city center: you can take a taxi, the metro, or even the bus.

Although DXB is the biggest airport in Dubai, you can also choose to fly to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC). This airport is located in the Jebel Ali area, about 50 km (31 miles) from Downtown Dubai, and it mostly handles cargo flights and low-cost carriers.

How to get around in Dubai

Dubai is an enormous city and getting around can be a bit daunting, especially if you’re not used to such big metropolises. The good news is that there are plenty of options when it comes to transportation.

Public transportation – Dubai has both metro and public bus systems in place. Although the metro is the most efficient way to get around, it only covers certain areas of the city. The bus system, on the other hand, covers a larger area but it can be quite slow during rush hour. This is definitely the cheapest way to get around Dubai, however, it can be pretty time-consuming.

Taxis – Taxis are widely available in Dubai and they’re relatively affordable, especially if you’re splitting the fare with someone. Your best bet is downloading the Careem app, which is similar to Uber, and lets you order a traditional Dubai taxi or a private vehicle.

Car rental – If you want the freedom to explore Dubai at your own pace, then renting a car is the way to go. Just keep in mind that traffic can be pretty bad during rush hour, so you might want to avoid driving during those times.

Best time to visit Dubai

The best time to visit Dubai is between November and March when the weather is cooler and more bearable. This is also the peak tourist season, so you can expect higher prices and bigger crowds.

If you don’t mind the heat, then you can visit Dubai during the summer months (June to August), when temperatures can reach up to 40°C (104°F). Each and every place is air-conditioned in Dubai, so you can take refuge from the heat indoors.

Just keep in mind that outdoor attractions such as gardens and water parks will be much less enjoyable during this time and it’s practically impossible to swim in the ocean because of the high temperatures.

If you want to avoid the crowds and get cheaper rates, then April, May, September, and October are the best months to visit Dubai. Prices will be lower and the weather will still be relatively pleasant.

Another thing to keep in mind: Ramadan takes place during the ninth month of the Islamic calendar but the exact dates change every year (usually it falls between March and May).

During this time, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk and many restaurants and cafes will be closed during the day. Alcohol is also not served during Ramadan. However, nightlife carries on as usual and many hotels offer special rates during this period.

Dubai Safari Park will kick off its sixth season on October 1, the outdoor destination announced. According to the Dubai Municipality, the park has undergone significant upgrades during the summer off-season.

More details on the new experiences and attractions will be announced in the coming weeks, the municipality said.

Ahmad Al Zarouni, director of Public Parks and Recreational Facilities at the civic body, said: “Our new season opening will mark an exciting chapter in Dubai’s ongoing efforts to promote tourism by giving Dubai visitors the chance to experience wildlife in a way that is completely new for the region.”

Visitors of the outdoor destination can explore the park either on foot or via a shuttle train that connects six uniquely themed zones, the municipality said.

Each zone offers close-up encounters with a variety of wildlife and includes educational and immersive activities that highlight animal welfare and the park’s conservation efforts. Additionally, popular live presentations by expert zoologists will return, providing an engaging look at the wonders of the animal world.

“We pride ourselves on reimagining the way people experience wildlife in Dubai, enabling guests of all ages to connect with animals in a way that’s fun, educational, and respectful,” Al Zarouni added.

Dubai Safari Park is home to over 3,000 animals representing 78 mammal species, 50 varieties of reptiles, and 111 kinds of birds.

As the sixth season begins, visitors can look forward to exploring the park's expansive landscape and interacting with its diverse array of animals, all within environments thoughtfully designed to cater to the needs of each species.

Aside from Dubai Safari Park, another popular attraction in the emirate has also set the stage for its upcoming season. Global Village has announced that its 29th season is slated to begin on October 16 and will continue until May 11, 2025.

Global Village remains closed during the summer months , along with other popular destinations such as Al Wasl Plaza in Expo City Dubai and Dubai Miracle Garden.

Summer to end soon

As September ushers in the final stretch of summer, UAE residents can expect a gradual decrease in temperatures. The arrival of the autumn equinox on September 23 will mark this shift, as the Sun aligns directly with the equator, leading to nearly equal daylight and darkness across both hemispheres. This marks a refreshing transition to the cooler months ahead.

With summer drawing to a close, other popular destinations are also gearing up to open its gates to the public and welcome visitors once more.

Dune Bashing

He would take this vehicle across, against, and on the dune, sometimes driving at 900 against the dune. For dune bashing, the vehicle is specially prepared by deflating the tires so that they practically glide on them. The dune-bashing vehicles are modified to ensure the safety of passengers and the vehicle. The dune bashing also has a stopover, one of the highest dunes for sandboarding and selfies. The safari is set within the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, in a secluded camp. The camp is set across two characterful spaces with 8 canvas safari tents, each with a comfortable double bed, private decking area, and a rustic desert charm. Individual toiletry amenities and shared bathroom facilities are also provided on site.

The Overnight Desert Safari experience includes a complimentary parking space for your vehicle, a BBQ dinner and cooked breakfast, and a variety of unique activities that will contribute to making your overnight stay a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

Beginning at the DDCR entrance, the Arabian Adventures team will be on hand to greet you and transfer you to your overnight camp. Upon check out, you are welcome to take a short tour of the Reserve’s visitors centre at your convenience or begin the journey home with unforgettable memories.

Included as part of the Overnight Desert Safari experience are activities including a camel ride on an Arabian Camel, a walking night safari by torch light followed by fireside marshmallows, and endless wildlife spotting opportunities throughout your time on safari. • The Overnight Desert Safari operates a minimum age restriction of 5+. However, when the entire Overnight camp is reserved exclusively for private use, this minimum age restriction is lifted

Cancellation policy

• We understand that plans can change. If they do, please let us know at least 24 hours prior to your activity. We will not be able to process refunds for bookings cancelled less than 24 hours before your activity starts
• Full payment for your booking is required at least two days prior to your activity. If payment is not received before the expected date, we reserve the right to cancel your activity
• In exceptional circumstances, we may have to amend the Overnight Desert Safari schedule, or cancel the activity entirely. We reserve the right to amend and cancel activities in such circumstances, and will ensure we communicate any changes in advance where possible

Is the overnight desert safari suitable for solo travellers?

Absolutely! Both shared vehicle and private vehicle packages are available for solo guests, and accommodation can be reserved by solo travellers too.

How many people does each tent accommodate during the overnight stay?

The tent accommodation is designed to host a maximum of two adults and one child (aged 5-11).

Are special dietary requests accommodated during the stay?

We can accommodate special dietary requirements during your stay with us. All we ask is that you share these in advance, so we can prepare your request accordingly.

What is the entertainment schedule during the overnight desert safari?

A typical activity schedule for an Overnight Desert Safari includes

• Walking night safari
• Morning wildlife drive, including a sunrise stop

Between these, the main activities on your schedule are to enjoy the view and enjoy your overnight camp accommodation!

Is there a pickup option available from areas other than Dubai hotels/residences?

We review these requests on a case-by-case basis. Reach out to our team and we’ll try our best to accommodate.

Are there any restrictions on carrying electronic devices to the overnight campsite?

Electronic items such as mobile phones are allowed on the campsite. How else can you get those Insta-worthy shots, right? Your accommodation won’t have any charging points however, so we’d recommend bringing a portable charging pack with you.

We also ask for you to refrain from bringing any items which may be harmful to the wildlife and environment we are looking to protect, like e-cigarettes for example.

What to wear for the overnight desert camping in Dubai?

We suggest wearing leisurely clothes that are easy to move around in, as well as comfortable walking shoes. We also suggest bringing warm clothes as the desert gets cool after sundown!

Is the desert camping experience suitable for children?

Children are welcome to enjoy the desert camping experience with us, under the following circumstances:

• Children under the age of 5 can only be accommodated when the camp is privately booked on an exclusive basis.
• For children under the age of 5, a private vehicle should be reserved for the safari experience and their information shared with us at the time of booking.

Are there vegetarian or vegan meal options available?

We are able to accommodate vegetarian or vegan meal requests when they are shared with our team in advance.

What safety measures are in place at the campsite?

The safety and wellbeing of our overnight guests is a top priority, and we have taken a variety of steps to ensure the overnight experience is comfortable and safe.

A comprehensive risk assessment has been conducted for our campsite facilities and activities, to ensure that potential risks are identified and effectively managed. While you’re camel riding, relaxing by the campfire, and sleeping – know that we have taken precautions to ensure your safety.

Although an emergency of any kind is highly unlikely, we understand the importance of being prepared. We have emergency procedures in place and have trained all our Safari Guides accordingly to put these into practice. Our Guides are also certified in First Aid and have access to first aid kits and defibrillators.

We have also taken steps to ensure fire safety at all times. Our campfire is carefully managed by our Safari Guides, and we have multiple fire extinguishers conveniently located throughout the campsite and the Guides are trained in their use. If the need arises to evacuate, our campsite offers an open plan layout with plenty of safe egress options.

As a rule, we encourage all guests to act in a respectful and mindful way throughout their time with us. We discourage any behaviours which could disrupt any wildlife or compromise personal safety in any way. With this in mind, while we do not prohibit any specific items, we ask our guests to make reasoned judgements about what they bring into the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve.
