Slides and attractions

You can have a great day out at Aquashow. Below you can read a short description of the different attractions, so you know what’s coming.

Watercoaster (roller coaster)

This roller coaster takes you to a height of 23,5 metres during a 740 metre ride in and out of water. It is one of the largest roller coasters in Portugal . You ride in an open cart at 70 kilometres an hour, which is sure to make your heart pounding with joy!

You can see that the drop from the roller coaster is quite steep , which is a lot of fun!

There is a wave pool on-site, which generates big waves. It is like swimming in the sea on a day with a lot of waves.

If you like to test your limits and raise your adrenaline level to the maximum , you have to try the Free Fall . It consists of two slides which are 129 metres in length and 32 metres high. When this slide opened in 2015, it was inaugurated by the world famous surfer Garrett McNamara.

Twin Space Shuttle

The Twin Space Shuttle is an impressive double slide that is 17 metres high and 178 metres long. It features two giant capsules and the special effects inside make sure that you will feel the adrenaline rush from start to finish.

River Slide

This is a beautiful colourfoul area designed for the little ones . Aqualandia is full of mini slides , showers and fountains where water falls down on the kids. The water is shallow, so your children can have a safe and wonderful day out playing around.

The little ones love to be the passengers of the Mini Train . Hop on and let their imagination take them anywhere.

The Top Swing isn’t for the faint-hearted. You are seated in a ring which has a capacity of 30 people. At 12 metres high, you will rotate to an angle of 110 degrees . This is a favourite attraction for many and will let you scream at the top of your lungs.

Tropical Pool

The Tropical Pool is a big pool with a waterfall . Relax and swim like you are in a tropical paradise.

The Aquakids area is a wonderful area for small kids. Here they can enjoy mini slides and parts where water falls down like you are in a shower.

Shark Slide

Is fear not in your vocabulary? Then challenge the thrilling Shark Slide !

The world is better in pink. The Pink Slide is a slide where you only see pink . Float and get carried away on your ride full of twists and turns!

Daredevils, get ready for an adrealine boost in the Air Race . You sit in an open little airplane that has room for 4 passengers. The planes spin around a tower and the individual planes make summersaults as well.

Who can slide down the fastest? Test your speed and race down to the pool. In the Speed Race you use a mat where you lay flat down on your tummy for the descend. The slide is 100 metres in length. You can race with 5 people at the same time.

If you love to slide, then try out all the different tubes . You can set them apart by their colour: green, blue and red.

The White Fall is one cool slide where you slide down and go up again. An absolute favourite adrenaline kick for many visitors.

Take a moment to do absolutely nothing in this beautiful hot jacuzzi surrounded by rocks.

Swimming Pool

What would a water park be without a swimming pool ? Get your exercise and swim as many leaps as you can at the classic swimming pool of Aquashow.

Thunder Cruise

The Thunder Cruise consists of 6 big yellow and orange slides , where you slide down sitting in a rubber ring. You can slide alone or together with a friend on a double ring.

This awesomely designed slide in the shape of a snake is 16 metres high and will take you on a pitch black journey in the dark.

Another chilled out water ride is the Lazy River . Go on a rubber ring alone or with a friend and float on the river stream that is 250 metres in length.

Foam Tracks

The Foam Tracks are 5 white slides that are made for acceleration. Slide down as fast as you can without using rings or mats.

Tropical Paradise (Indoor water park coming end of 2019)

If you (or your kids) love animals , then you will be pleasantly surprised at Aquashow. You will have the chance to watch three different shows where you get to see and touch the animals.

Parrot show

Come watch the colourful and playful parrots . At the parrot show you can watch our little friends from up close. Part of the show is an educational talk about how we can protect our rainforests.

Birds of prey show

In this fantastic show you will see birds of prey in action. Let their agility and speed amaze you.

Reptile show

This is a fantastic reptile show where you can enjoy watching beautiful animals and interact with lizards and snakes.

Aquashow Park Hotel

A truly unique feature of Aquashow is that it has its own hotel : the Aquashow Park Hotel . General information & facilities

In the Aquashow family park you can find the following general facilities:

• Lockers . You can store your valuable belongings in the lockers. The locker measurements are 40 × 30 × 48 cm. The charge is € 5 for the entire day.
• Sunbeds . This paid service costs € 15 for 2 sunbeds, a straw umbrella and a small table.
• First-aid . Safety is a main priority in the park. There is a first-aid service on-site in case any incidents happen. The service is located near the wave pool.
• Bathrooms . There are changing rooms and shower facilities, both of which are quite large. There are also plenty of toilet facilities available on-site.
• Souvenir shop . There is a souvenir shop on the terrain where you can buy souvenirs, bathers, towels and practical amenities such as sun screen.

When you arrive, first thing you do is to pick a spot to put your towel and belongings. You can put your towel on the grass for free. In general, you are not allowed to use the water slides with any type of jewellery, so keep them in the lockers. By the way, it is allowed to bring a GoPro (or similar) camera to the slides.

Restaurants

Aquashow has several restaurants and  snack bars . Kids meals such as hamburgers and hotdogs with chips and a drink cost € 5 and adult meals cost around € 8. You can also get salads, sandwiches or a pizza. In addition, there are picnic areas with tables and seats where you can consume your own meals .

Opening hours

Aquashow is open in the high season from May 1st until September 30 . During those days, Aquashow is open almost every day from 10.00 in the morning until 17.00-18.30 in the afternoon , depending on the month:

• May: open until 17.00.
• June and September: open until 17.30.
• July: open until 18.00.
• August: open until 18.30.

Entrance to the park will cost you € 29 for adults and € 21 for children. Pregnant women get 50% discount on the ticket price. Children up to 5 years old can enter the park for free. It is best to buy your ticket online . This will save you time, since you don’t have to wait in line.

How to get there

The easiest way to move around in the Algarve is by car . If you don’t have one, make sure to rent a car . Aquashow is located in Quarteira, near the N396 and Vilamoura. The exact address is EN 396, Semino, 8125-303 Quarteira . It is easy to get there by car and parking is free . In addition, Aquashow offers transport services from all the large holiday destinations in the Algarve.

Aquashow Park is recognized for the constant innovations in its attractions.

This is the largest theme and water park in Portugal, and one of the largest in Europe.

Aquashow attractions for adventurers

Some of the most challenging slides in Europe are found in Quarteira, from slides for groups, as well as individual ones, which turn the head of those who venture into them.

For those who are afraid of heights, these are real obstacles, but for the bravest they are synonymous with total fun.

Mammothblast

The Mammothblast made its debut in 2021, it is a gigantic slide that takes up to 5 people on a buoy.

The route is made in a maddening descent over 250 meters, being the biggest slide in the park.

To use it, you must be at least 1.20 meters tall.

Twin Space Shuttle

The Twin Space Shuttle consists of two capsules, yellow or red, are two individual or double buoy slides.

They are over 17 meters high and have special effects inside the slides.

These are great for a race against a friend.

Freel Fall is the height of adrenaline.

These 2 Aquashow slides are the largest Free Fall in Europe and start at a height of 29 meters.

Of course, you need to take a deep breath before riding it, but the fun pays off.

White Fall takes you to high speeds quickly.

This slide has a V shape and it is necessary to use an individual buoy.

The adrenaline peak is reached right at the beginning and then we slowly go to the pool.

Aquashow attractions for groups

The water park is usually visited by groups and families. Thus, you have at your disposal several attractions to walk all together.

The level of adrenaline varies, but fun is guaranteed.

Watercoaster Aquashow

The Watercoster is an aquatic roller coaster style.

This is one of the largest in the world, and has a course of more than 700 meters.

Each carriage can carry up to 8 people and their moments are photographed.

The Top Swing is a pendulum that carries up to 30 people simultaneously.

It is 12 meters high and the sensation is that it is facing gravity.

The attraction makes an angle of 110º and can only be attended by people over 1.40 meters.

Aquashow’s blue and white slide does not have buoys.

A slide with a smaller dimension, but that promises to be the target of many races.

The descent seems light, but the final stretch is high speed.

We usually talk about slower slides, where you won’t have to climb as many stairs to go down.

River Slide

The River Slide , allows a fun descent in a buoy for 4 people.

Along the way, the vibrant colors of the interior liven up the atmosphere and the curves of the huge slide make it sway.

Wild Snake e Lazy River

Shaped like a snake, the Wild Snake is one of the oldest slides at Aquashow Park.

This is 16 meters high and can be walked individually or in pairs.

The trip provides a completely dark journey, which ends in the Lazy River, where it travels 250 meters relaxed, at the rhythm of the river current.

Slides 3 Aquashow

The Aquashow Tubes are 3 slides recognized by the colors green, blue and red.

These can also be called Wildness, Snail and Shell and they all start from the same point, making similar routes.

The descent in any of them is pleasant for anyone, regardless of age.

Shark Slide

The Shark Slide is an individual float slide.

The descent is suitable for any age and is characterized by the vibrant colors along its route. In the end, you will come out of a shark’s mouth as a winner.

The descent is done individually, in a fully closed tube.

Piscinas e Jacuzzis do Aquashow Park

Aquashow Park has 4 spaces exclusively for swimming pools and jacuzzis, without any associated slide or attraction.

Initially, the outdoor Jacuzzi is located near the Thunder Cruise and is excellent for relaxing, you need to be at least 16 years old to use it.

The Swimming Pool , located under the Tubes, is a classic pool. Here you can enjoy the sun loungers, sun, rest or even train.

The Tropical Swimming Pool , located between the Jacuzzi and the Thunder Cruise, is ideal for children and games, with water falling from the rocks.

Finally, the huge Wave Pool , holds more than 1150 people and has waves every 15 minutes.

Aquashow Park attractions for children

Shortly after adopting Bella, Nicole and Tom adopted Connor who, like his older sister, is creative and even tried his hand at acting, following in his parents' footsteps. In 2008, he gained a credit in the film Seven Pounds  and in 2012 he appeared in  Red Dawn.

However, in recent times, he's stepped away from the spotlight and launched his own business, Connor's Meat Shack. Though he does often make public appearances for example at Fashion Week earlier this year.

As the children grew up and after Tom and Nicole's divorce in 2001, there were reports that the children had, like their dad, joined the church of scientology. This then fuelled reports that Bella and Connor had a more strained and distant relationship with their mother, Nicole, who does not identify as a Scientologist.

However, in recent times, Nicole has emphasized her loyalty to her children and dispelled rumours of a falling out. 

In a candid interview with Who in 2018, Nicole expressed her philosophy of tolerance and open-heartedness: "I am an example of that tolerance and that’s what I believe – that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here."

She also told the Sun the following year: "Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love.

"They have made choices to be Scientologists. It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love."

Tom's relationship with his older children

Last month, fans got an insight into Tom's relationship with his two older children as he was pictured with Connor and Bella at a hockey game. In a rare outing together, the three were seen, among others, smiling for the camera after watching the game.

The photo was shared by former NFL star Derrick Brooks who wrote: "Wow, look who stopped by my office before our [Tampa Bay Lightning] game tonight! @tomcruise." Both Connor and Bella were pictured in the photo, proving they still enjoy quality time with their dad.

Suri Cruise is Tom's youngest and only child whom he shares with ex-wife Katie Holmes . The pair welcomed their daughter in June 2006 and, up until their divorce, were pictured multiple times as a family unit.

Tom and Katie split in 2012 with Katie filing the divorce papers, with reports at the time suggesting that Katie wanted to remove herself and Suri from the church of Scientology.

Since their split, Tom has had a reportedly estranged relationship with his daughter, Suri, now 18 , and the movie star was not present at her recent graduation ceremony in New York.

What's more, photos from inside the ceremony at her high school indicate that Suri had dropped her last name, instead being listed as Suri Noelle.
