The Grand Tour Hosts Are Racing Boats Through Cambodia and Vietnam in a New Special

This looks like one really watery adventure.

The Grand Tour , as we know it, is a car show. Its hosts, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May, do and talk about things that are usually, in one way or another, related to cars. The show's latest special takes things in a different direction.

The Grand Tour revealed its first trailer for a new one-off feature-length special coming this holiday season, and it's all about boats. Racing boats through Vietnam and Cambodia , to be specific.

That's right, this time around the British trio are challenging themselves to navigate Mekong Delta, a series of complex rivers, peninsulas, islands, and streams that snake throughout southern Vietnam, to see who can reach the other side the quickest.

The trailer gives us a good look at what sort of boat each of the hosts have chosen, and they're ask wacky as you'd expect. Clarkson shows up with a military-like service boat meant for police duty. May went for an older wooden boat that looks like it would be more suited to Lake Como than a Vietnam river. Hammond went for a full-on speed boat, complete with some extremely Nineties graphics.

As with any of The Grand Tour's specials, there are plenty of hilarious antics, close calls, and clever pranks in store. The full special will be available to Amazon Prime members on, December 13, 2019.

Vietnam Special

The eighth and final episode of the twelfth series of Top Gear aired on the 28th of December, 2008. The presenters traveled the length of Vietnam on three two-wheeled automobiles. Jeremy rode a scooter whilst Richard and James rode motorbikes. Along the way the presenters were given numerous challenges.

Synopsis [ ]

The trip started in Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon) in Southern Vietnam, where the presenters were given 15 million Vietnamese dong to buy a car. This made the presenters happy as they thought that this was a lot of money to buy a car. However, they soon discovered that the 15 million dong was only worth 1000 US dollars and not enough for a car, with Jeremy standing in the rain, desperately asking passers-by if he could buy their car for the money he had. Later at lunch, they decided to buy bikes with Jeremy reluctantly trying to refuse. An hour later, they met the American War Museum with their bikes. Richard purchased a Russian Minsk, James purchased an ancient Honda 50 Super Cub and Jeremy purchased a Vespa which has a stand, but is unable to get it out. A producer hands them a challenge, saying that they are told to drive themselves from Saigon to Ha Long City with an 8 day limit. A journey the Americans failed to complete in 10 years, but Jeremy dislikes it. Before they began their journey however, the presenters had to buy helmets. Richard was the only one who could fit a helmet and as such Jeremy and James went and had some made.

The next day they met up in a car park to start the journey, with James having a colander and wok as a helmet and Jeremy, a bucket, and Jeremy's Vespa had mirrors added to his Vespa as well. James and Richard set off straight away and left Jeremy behind when he failed to start his Vespa. Along the way, James had to ditch the wok and as they drive along the road, a car drives on the wrong side of the road and are amazed to see a dog on a motorbike. Eventually, and with the help of a tourist, Jeremy managed to start his scooter, buy a real helmet and begin the journey. While struggling to ride, he nearly crashes into a stalled motorbike and yells at a Vietnamese person driving the wrong side of the road. James and Richard later pulled over at a petrol station, and Jeremy caught up to them, crashing into Richard's Minsk. However, they later left him again as Jeremy had to repair his Vespa's drive shaft and front brakes. Later, James discovered his bike was relatively powerless and as such was incredibly slow up hills. Jeremy's Vespa meanwhile, had broken down again and had to ask locals for help. James' motorbike eventually stopped as the elevation of the hill was too much for it's powerless engine with Richard arriving at the restaurant whilst James was forced to push his bike the rest of the way. Jeremy later discovered his many mirrors were placed in the wrong position and as such illuminated his face as opposed to the road ahead.

At the restaurant, Jeremy knowingly knew Richard hasn't had much to eat except Rice Krispies, so he ordered set menu B which was various dishes that had snake in them. After drinking too much snake vodka, James and Jeremy took Richard's helmet and destroyed it by having a lorry run over it and brought him a new one, a pink helmet. Along the way in the rain, Jeremy curses his life and James mockingly sings Beach Boys’ 'Little Honda', but soon ran out of fuel and Richard's clutch cable snapped. James is soon provided gas by a polite man and after meeting up with the others, they were told by the frustrated producers that they can't just fix their bikes, they soon provided a back-up bike, a Honda Chaly mini-bike, painted and flanked in a livery (similar to the bike seen in the film  Easy Rider and fitted with an iPod audio system continuously playing "Born in the U.S.A." ("The Star-Spangled Banner" in the iTunes, Netflix, and Tubi releases, however references to Springsteen and the song remain in these versions.) Eventually, they manage to get their bikes working and drive all the way to Nha Trang, but along the way, Jeremy's headlight died and he taped a torch before they head into town where Jeremy buys a Galleon for Richard as part of a challenge to keep it secure on his bike since they didn't have cars. They rode along the roads for a day and a half, and went to Hoi An to buy new clothes as theirs got filthy. Since the clothes would take a whole day, they chose to go to the beach, but Jeremy gives up for some peace and Richard mistakenly rode his bike near the waves, damaging it, and the backup bike mocks him. As his bike was being mended, Richard was lectured by a deaf and mute army veteran about how he fought in the war while James and Jeremy watched an event in town. After getting their new clothes and Richard's bike having been mended, they took off and Jeremy asks who wrote 'Penis' on his helmet, which Richard replied that he did. Since James was too far back, the other two decided to buy him a statue which they christen as 'Darcey Bussell'. Along the way, Richard knocks some bins and a toll booth sign over with his galleon, ruining it. Atop a hill, to celebrate Jeremy's debut on a bike, Richard and James give him a painting. Later at the hotel, while Richard fixed the galleon as best he can, only to have a celling fan ruin it again while James and Jeremy persuade a few locals to spray paint Richard's Minsk pink as punishment for breaking the galleon in the first place, resulting in a local girl beginning to spray paint other bikes pink.

The following morning, Richard was mad at the two about the bike and didn't care if his galleon got hit by something again. They stop at a local Vietnamese driving school, where they discuss how Richard's bike now looks similar to the helmet before a producer hands James a letter, which Jeremy thinks will be the person with the pinkest bike wins, but it wasn't. They have to take a driving test in Vietnamese before they can continue. James got his answer wrong, Richard barely got his question correct when asked which way the car must give way, but answered in English and Jeremy answered the legal age to drive which is 18 in Vietnamese. Later, they do a small driving test with Richard and James passing with flying colours, but Jeremy fails multiple times due to the Vespa's multiple breakdowns, using his feet, going out of line and tried using James' bike, but failed again. Not wanting to waste time, they decide to resume their journey, but as he got off the bike, Jeremy knocks the bike on its side and unintentionally broke James' statue and buys him some flowers as an apology, with Richard breaking one of Jeremy’s mirrors with his galleon in the process.

After the visit to the Citadel and at lunch, Jeremy discovers that they are behind schedule due to them waiting for their suits to be made and Richard recommends that they cheat, and so they take a train. But before they got on the train, James and Richard scold Jeremy for ruining his painting since the spare wheel has come through it. They were placed in third class of the train and learn that would take 13 hours to get to Ha Long City. During the train ride, they each decide to fix each others’ presents to pass the time with Richard painting the ruined painting, getting paint on his shirt, Jeremy fixing Darcey, dropping hot glue on his suit, and James fixing the galleon. Once the train reached its destination they review the gifts to see that Jeremy had replaced the missing hand with a piece of the shoulder, Richard had painted a Land Rover and James had bought a fan and chopsticks to turn the galleon into a Chinese junk. But as they take their bikes out, Jeremy crashes into James’ bike, breaking Darcey again.

When they leave the station, they discover that they are in Hanoi, with the presenters blaming each other, such as Jeremy choosing the platform and James getting the tickets. They discover Hanoi’s traffic was worse and were unable to find any signs, ending up in the countryside as a result. But soon, they managed to rejoin the main road with Jeremy saying "I've always said that if my children buy a bike, I'll burn it. If they replace it with another one, I'll burn that one too. Now when they buy a bike, I will completely understand. And then I'll burn it". As he soon got crazy from the speed, Richard’s Minsk stalled again, the Honda once again mocking him, but he manages to get the bike running again with James’ help, only to unintentionally fall, headbutting James’ groin and breaking his galleon once more.

During all that, Jeremy ends up falling off his bike, scraping his right arm, cracking some ribs, breaking his right leg and tearing his suit pants. Richard and James then decide to buy each other gifts with Richard having a lawn chair while James had a vase. Once they reunited, Jeremy cursed at Richard for suggesting bikes in the first place.

Eventually, they reach Ha Long City, tooting their horns in victory. As they get off and James breaks his vase, a producer hands them an envelope, saying that they haven't finished. The actual finishing point is Ba Hang Bar in Ha Long Bay, which is only accessible by water. So, they eventually decided to turn their bikes into jetskis and spend the rest of the day modifying their bikes,

On the final day, they unveiled their creations. Jeremy had one similar to a paddle steamer, Richard had a swan as a figurehead, and James had completely disassembled his bike, turning it into jetski with a fibreglass hull, supported by some tied up logs. They soon go underway, with James starting Jeremy’s due to his cracked ribs, but in true tradition, James crashes into Jeremy and some netting before sinking. Choosing not to help, Jeremy and Richard move along the bay, with Richard helping restart Jeremy’s jetski, looking for the bar, even resorted to looking in caves.

Meanwhile, back on the beach, James had stolen some spare pontoons to replace the logs and had some fishermen tie them up as best as they could, and immediately went underway to try and catch up with the others, who were stuck in a cave with no reverse gear, singing Beach Boys’ 'Little Honda' again, but ends up losing one of his pontoons. Once they were out of the cave, Jeremy and Richard end up having some problems, with Jeremy almost getting electrocuted and Richard’s steering making him spin around, resulting in him giving off multiple cusses. Despite these faults, Jeremy manages to find the bar and gets their first, choosing not to help Richard as he showed up until he got onto the deck.

As they drink beer while waiting for James, with only a few hours to go, Jeremy tells Richard he found out that some of the people living at the bar are born there, they fish, and die, spending their whole lives floating. Once James came across the bar, he loses his other pontoon and his bike stalls, causing the two to laugh at him as he tried to start it up again, ending up falling into the bay, but arrives by swimming along with the pontoon, managing to arrive hours before sunset.

Motorcycles [ ]

• Based on the idea of this special, a luxury tour operator for Southeast Asia has come up with a tour ' Recreating Top Gear's glory days in Vietnam ' which gives the chance for everyone to go through and explore some of 'the best coast roads' in the world.
• At just 6.70 million viewers tuning in, this was the least viewed episode of Series 12. This was a common trend for Specials, however.
• This is often considered the greatest episode of Top Gear in the show's history, holding a 9.2 rating on IMDb.
• The trio would return 10 years later to record the Seamen special , for The Grand Tour , making Vietnam the first country to be revisited for a special episode.
• This is the last episode to not replace the Top Gear logo during the end card with the BBC Productions logo.

Around 08:00, our tour guide picks you up at your hotel lobby, then driving 90Km (2hrs) to Ben Tre. The boat will cruise along the Ham Luong river (a branch of the Mekong) and stop off at various local workplaces including a brick works, a coconut processing workshop and a mat weaving house. The boat will then stop at a quiet village where you can have a short walk to experience real Delta village life and take a bicycle ride through dense coconut plantations. Hanoi - drive to Mu Cang Chai (Breakfast, Lunch)

After breakfast at your hotel, Vivutravel's private tour guide and driver pick you up for a beautiful drive to Mu Cang Chai. If we have time, have a quick visit to Duong Lam ancient village in Son Tay. Several stops on the way for breaks and photos. It is a long journey (300km), but as you reach Mu Cang Chai, it is like a step to the paradise of rice terraces.

On arrival, we start walking from the small village of H’mong which is named Hang Co Vua, then we walk on small trail , follow the terraces fields and conquer the pine forest. You will enjoy the fresh air cool in the middle of nature and mountains. When you go on a small road in the forest, you will have the opportunity to look at the forest orchid flowers, hear the birds singing and the occasional squirrel in a tree.

After 2 hours walk you will encounter villages where people Hua Khat ethnic minority Hmong live, where you'll discover extremely simple lives and many wild character. Yet indigenous people could not communicate with us because of the language barrier, but they are very friendly and open welcome when we visit home. Leaving the village of the Hmong people you will be completely surprised to see the valley of terraced fields, which is the mark of human impact on nature in a harmonious way. Hanoi - Hoa Lu - Tam Coc - Ninh Binh (Breakfast, lunch)

After breakfast, we continue your grand Vietnam Toursby heading south for the two hour drive along Highway One. We spend one hour visiting the Dinh and Le sanctuaries. These are the two remaining temples of the ancient citadel of Hoa Lu. The first is dedicated to Dinh Tien Hoang (also known as Dinh Bo Linh), an Emperor from the Dinh Dynasty. The second commemorates the rulers of the Le Dynasty. Dinh Bo Linh successfully conquered Vietnam’s first independent rulers, the Ngo Dynasty. On his death in 980, General Le Hoan wisely married Dinh’s widow and established the Le Dynasty and enlarged the citadel.

We then move on to Tam Coc - Poetically penned ‘Halong Bay on the rice paddies’, the area around Tam Coc boasts stunning scenery. While Halong Bay has rugged rock formations jutting out of the sea, here they soar skywards from a sea of green. You can pay by credit cards (via onepay gateway, pay online), make wire transfer, western union. The deposit is used to pay the flight tickets, hotels, train tickets in advance.

Balance: You can pay the rest 2 weeks before your arrival, or you can pay us on your arrival in Vietnam by credit cards, cash (AUD, USD, EUROS, VND...)

* What is the latest time that I can make my reservation? We suggest you make reservations at least one month before the departure date. If you decide to travel to Vietnam in May, September or October which is peak season, we recommend you make the reservations two months (at least one) before your departure date. Late reservations can not be guaranteed for the availability of domestic flights, hotel rooms, etc.

However, we DO accept late reservations, things are possible at Vivutravel.

* What about Cancellation policy? In case of cancellation, we will not impose any charges if we are not being charged and possible to get refund from our suppliers but if our suppliers apply charges for cancellation, you will have to pay those charges that apply. Cancellation policies vary, depending upon the type of service, the time of year, and the reason for cancellation. We will pass on to you all details of any cancellation policy with our transparent reply upon demand.

* How do I get a visa? Vietnam Visa - For those who would like to avoid the perhaps lengthening visa procedures with their local Vietnam's Embassies, the service of Vietnam Visa On Arrival is available for help. It is legitimated and supported by the Vietnamese Immigration Department. We recommend that you choose visa upon arrival, as picking up visa at the Vietnam int'l airport/border is quite simple, easy, no additional charges and no fail.

Steps to obtain Visa on arrival a) Please provide the following information for us to apply for your visa.

1) Full name on passport 2) Passport number 3) Date of birth 4) Nationality 5) Date of arrival 6) Date of issue 7) Date of expire 8) Please make sure that your passport is still valid for 6 months

b) How long does it take? It will take 2-3 days (Normal process), 01 day (Urgent process) to get the “Visa Approval Letter” which we will send you via mail. What you need is to print it out and take it along to get the stamp at airports/borders

c) Get the stamp Upon arrival, you will need to fill in a certain form with your personal information, get the stamp and visa will be done. For this process, you will need to prepare 02 photos (4*6) and $25 USD each in cash which is stamping fee.

* Do our tour guides and drivers have meals with us? The guide and the driver in each destination will dine at the same restaurant as yours. But, they will not join you unless you invite them.

* Where can I exchange our money into Vietnam currency? We advise you to stop in any of a Vietnamese bank during the tour (Our tour guides will take you to the bank), you can also exchange money at your hotel, but the exchange rate is not really good.

* Can I use credit cards in Vietnam? Major credit cards such as Master Card, Visa, Diner's Card, American Express and JCB can be used to purchase goods in large shopping malls and stores in the big and medium cities, to pay for hotel rooms and for meals in some of the fancier restaurants, and to buy plane tickets with them.

Note: If you are to travel to those small cities or even remote rural areas, only cash in Dong can be used.

* Do I need to bring my medical record with me? Yes, we suggest you take your medical record with you in case that you need it in the event of an emergency, and please also take with you your doctor's name, address and phone number, emergency contact name and phone number, and your insurance company's name, address and phone number.

* When I finish my tour in Vietnam, if I still have some local money, what can I do? Upon leaving Vietnam, if you still have some local money, you can change them back to foreign currency with your passport and the exchange memos given by the banks or money exchange counters. So please keep those exchange memos well whenever you change money.

* Tipping Tipping is not compulsory, but expected by your tour guide and driver.  We advise you to tip as below:

Day 01: Hanoi

Greetings & transfer to the hotel. Ideally located at the heart of the beautiful and historic old quarter and Vietnam’s famous 36 streets.

Day 02: Tuyen Quang - Thac Cai temple - Ha Giang

We start our journey by exploring Ha Giang, the farthest province in the North of Vietnam. On the way, we stopped at Tuyen Quang, which has 300 historical cultural vestiges. Visit Den Cam (Forbidden Temple) and Den Mau Thuong- these are 2 most sacred temples in Tuyen Quang, with its magnificent nature and mountain landscape around, the tourists are dragged to come and visit it. After that, on our way to Ha Giang, visit Thac Cai temple, one of the most famous and sacred temples to the belief of the local people. (B/L/D)

Day 03: Ha Giang

Begin our day to explore the highlights in the deep of Ha Giang, start with driving to Yen Minh then continue our journey east into the Mien River valley. Observe the river banks flanked by bamboo forests and wooden houses. From Yen Minh to the town of Pho Bang, where the beautiful pass with a green valley is the highest point and most beautiful to see the panorama of Sung La. Visit H’mong King’s Palace – considered a gem of the northern mountainous province of Ha Giang & a popular tourist destination besides the Dong Van Stone Plateau. (B/L/D)

Day 04: Happiness Road

Morning drive through the famous Happiness Road. This road was built between 1959 and 1965 by 16 ethnic groups from 8 provinces of Northern Vietnam. Ma Pi Leng is probably the most epic mountain pass in Vietnam. No wonder why travelers consider it as one of the “Big Four Passes” in the mountains of northern Vietnam, besides Deo O Quy Ho (in Sapa), Khau Phạ Pass and Pha Din Pass. The most scenic part of the Happiness Road is the stretch from Dong Van to Meo Vac. Here, the pass is carved on the edge of the limestone mountain, hundreds of meters above the Nho Que river gorge, one of Vietnam’s most unique tectonic formations. (B/L/D)

Day 05: Ban Gioc Waterfalls

Take a scenic day trip north of Cao Bang to the beautiful Ban Gioc Waterfalls, one of Vietnam’s most impressive natural sights. Located in the northeastern province of Cao Bang, the falls are 30 meters high and 300 meters across, making Ban Gioc the widest (but not the highest) waterfall in the country. The falls occur on the Quay Son river, a beautiful jade-blue body of water through a pastoral landscape of rice fields and bamboo groves surrounded by limestone pinnacles. The unique landscape includes limestone karst formations soaring from the verdant rice paddies of Tay, H’Mong and Dzao ethnic minority groups. (B/L)

Day 06: Ba Be lake

Morning depart to visit Ba Be lake, Vietnam’s largest natural lake which is now the centerpiece of an extensive National Park. The park and the surrounding area is limestone country, so lakes, waterfalls, caves, and unusual rock formations abound. The whole area is richly forested, home to many ethnic minority communities. Board a private boat for a cruise on Ba Be lake to visit to the Puong Grotto and the Dau Dang waterfall. (B/L)

Day 07: Tam Chuc Pagoda - Thanh Hoa

Morning depart to visit Tam Chuc pagoda, situated in the North of Ha Nam province, is being built on the foundation of the former pagoda and is surrounded by newly built structures, a parking lot, an immense lake system, and lush forests. Tam Chuc pagoda enchants the eyes of visitors with its great combination of impressive architecture and spectacular landscapes. Continue to drive to Thanh Hoa with the famous Sam Son beach. (B/L/D)

Day 08: Quyet Mountain Complex - Thanh Chuong Tea Island

Visit Quyet mountain complex – Phuong Hoang Trung Do – a place that leaves bold historical imprints, is rich in epics, and is associated with a long history and events. Important history to commemorate the hero Quang Trung Nguyen Hue. Drive to Thanh Chuong tea island, and you admire the vast and clear lake, through the green tea hills. After freely taking souvenir photos, you can buy bunches of fresh green tea picked by local people on the hillside with a unique and unforgettable flavor. (B/L/D)

Day 09: Phong Nha – Ke Bang - Thien Duong (Paradise) Cave

Drive to the river where we take a boat trip to the park and famed caves at Phong Nha – Ke Bang, one of the newest UNESCO-designated World Heritage Sites in Vietnam. The park has some beautiful limestone formations, grottoes, caves, forests, rivers, and streams. The limestone mountain range contains the longest underground river on the planet, rich flora, and fauna. Continue to visit Thien Duong (Paradise) cave, which was discovered by a local man in 2005. This cave is 31 km long, longer than Phong Nha Cave which had been considered the longest cave in this national park. The limestone formation is also more spectacular than that of Phong Nha Cave. The British cave explorers were impressed by the beautiful and spectacular stalactites and stalagmites inside this cave. (B/L/D)

Day 10: Hue City

Depart to Hue city. On the way, stop by to visit the 17th parallel, Hien Luong Bridge, Ben Hai River and Kinh Hoang (consternated) Boulevard. Visit Our Lady Of Lavang Church.

Hue city, the ancient capital, is intimately connected to the imperial Nguyễn Dynasty. Boat cruise on Huong river to visit Linh Mu pagoda on the left bank of the Perfume river. It was built in 1601, and then Lord Nguyen Phuc Tan renovated it in 1665. In 1710 Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu had a great bell cast (2.5 m high, weighed 3,285 kg) and a stele (2.58 m high) erected on the back of a marble tortoise in 1715. Visit Khai Dinh Tomb was built between 1920 and 1931. It is located in a vast expanse of wilderness, and looks like a magnificent palace perched on the slope of a limestone mountain. It is accessible by climbing 109 stone steps. Unlike the construction materials used for the other tomb, Khai Dinh mausoleum was built with modern materials such as steel and reinforced concrete. The peculiar feature of the tomb is the magnificent porcelain decorations on the walls, columns, and ceilings. The Tu Duc tomb called the Tomb of Modesty, the necropolis complex is enclosed by a thick wall following the contour of the hill, among a pine tree forest. Tu Duc’s tomb is one of the most beautiful works of royal architecture of the Nguyen dynasty and a romantic picture of mounts and lakes. (B/L/D)

Boat cruise to visit Linh Mu pagoda on the left bank of the Perfume river. It was built in 1601, and then Lord Nguyen Phuc Tan renovated it in 1665. In 1710 Lord Nguyen Phuc Chu had a great bell cast and a stele erected on the back of a marble tortoise 1715. Visit Khai Dinh Tomb was built between 1920 and 1931. It is located in a vast expanse of wilderness and looks like a magnificent palace perched on the slope of a limestone mountain. It is accessible by climbing 109 stone steps. Day 12: Hoi An - Cam Thanh Water Coconut Village - Danang

Depart to visit Hoi An, an ancient city that has retained much of its original charm and culture. Your guide will lead you on a walking tour of this historic part of town and show you some of the centuries-old houses. Visit Phuoc Kien Temple, Tan Ky old house, which showcases many ceramic antiques. Explore the special architectural style of Bridge pagoda. Explore and take pictures of the Hoai river and the everyday life of people in central Vietnam. Make a short city tour and visit the Japanese Covered bridge, a Chinese Community hall, a former Merchandise house and the historical museum.

Visit Cam Thanh Water Coconut Village: Learn about the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families, and their community. Take a wooden boat transferring to Cam Thanh water coconut village. Learn about the daily life of Vietnamese fishermen, their families, and their community. Board on the boat and commence cruising on the Cua Dai River. Join local fishermen on the river and experience a round net or cast net. Learn how to paddle the Vietnamese unique bamboo basket boat. Explore the now tranquil coconut palm flanked waterways of a past war and hear of the extreme conditions endured by soldiers of both sides. Afternoon enjoy the city tour at Danang, Vietnam’s third largest city, which is slated to become the major economic center in central Vietnam. Going back in time, Danang was where the Sahuynh culture flourished during the Iron Age, over 3,000 years ago. The first inhabitants of the region were the ancestors of the Cham people. Day 13: Ba Na Hills

Spend the day on the beautiful Ba Na Hills. Marvel at the exquisite architecture of the Linh Ung Pagoda, stand before the vast 30-meter statue of Buddha and enjoy a traditional lunch after your visit to the Tinh Tam Garden.

Enjoy the cable car to Ba Na mountain to see a vast view of the sea, Danang city, and rice fields spreading to the horizon. Established in 1919, Bana hill inherited from the French, lush Ba Na has refreshingly cool weather and gorgeous countryside views. Stop at the station to visit Vong Nguyet hills, Linh Ung pagoda & The Old Villas of French. Perched 1500m up a mountain 48km west of Da Nang, Ba Na Hill Station provides a welcome change from the coast. The site was first developed by the French in the 1920s, who escaped the summer heat for its cool, mountain air. Given the weather, you may have to content yourself with a more atmospheric scene of mountains wreathed in mist, but while it’s raining on the lower slopes, the summit may be above the clouds, enjoying brilliant sunshine. Enjoy the sightseeing from the Golden bridge. Winding its way around a 150-meter course lined with flowers, a golden bridge shimmers against the Ba Na Hills, supported by a pair of giant hands. The bridge’s 150-meter length is divided into eight spans. Along each perimeter is a line of Lobelia Chrysanthemum flowers, adding a further layer of color to the gold balustrades. The giant pair of hands has been finished with a weathered effect, creating the illusion of age and antiquity. (B/L)

Day 14: Kontum

Your journey to visit the Kontum town, a mysterious region of Central Highlands where the majority inhabitants make up the Bahnar. Have a visit to the Wooden Cathedral that was built in 1913 by a French Catholic Missionary & has been restored. Close by is Vinh Son Orphanage where you can see a big charity center that brings up a total of 200 children most of whom are from the minority villages and have been rescued by local people and sisters from the church. Day 15: Pleiku

Pleiku is the capital of Gia Lai Province. City tour starts with a visit to Plei Phun village of Jarai – the largest ethnic group in Central Highlands, a good opportunity to explore the Jarai culture. Afternoon visit Bahnar minorities such as Dektu -Deron -Dedoa – Dekop where you have opportunities to discover their traditional custom and culture, especially the community building called “ Roong house “ which looks like an axe blade pointing in to the sky. You also enjoy the Gong performance, a kind of musical instrument that has been recognized as a Non-Physical Heritage of mankind by the world community awarded by UNESCO in 2005 followed a try of “ homebrew rice wine “ (B/L/D)

Day 16: Minh Thanh Pagoda - Akodhon Village

Morning visit Minh Thanh pagoda that is currently one of the biggest architectures and is also considered the most beautiful in Central Highlands. Continue to drive to Buon Me Thuot, the large city in a coffee plantation area and the provincial city of Daklak province, is the home to number of several different ethnic minorities such as Ede, Mnong, Jarai…Visit the Ethnological Museum where you can see many things come from the daily life of Ethnic minorities in Vietnam such as clothes, cultivated tools, musical instruments…Continue on to visit Akodhon village of Ede minority where you can stroll around the village to discover the architectures of the house-on-stilts. Day 17: Buon Me Thuot

Visit Draysap, waterfall that is Fall of Mist in the Ede language, is surrounded by rainforest and is considered one of the biggest and most beautiful waterfalls in Buon Me Thuot. Afternoon drive to the city to Buon Don, that was the Capital city of Daklak province during 19th century, the village of Mnong minority who traditionally specialised in hunting and domesticating the wild elephants. You also have opportunities to visit the Laos’ Ancient house-on-stilts that was built over 100 years ago, Bamboo suspension bridge crossing the Serepok river, the grave house of a well-known wild elephant hunting King. Day 18: Lak Lake

Visit Lak lake that is the biggest natural lake in the Central Highlands. This is really a splendid lake; a destination of Ecology – Culture unique attractions with a natural poetic beauty of the surrounding mountains and forests. By the side of Lak Lake is the size of the M’nong Rlam village of Jun with over 30 longhouses. Different from the M’nong Gar who live in on-ground houses, the M’nong Rlam live in longhouses which are built on stilts like the Edeh. Their method of building longhouses has remained simple and consists mainly of binding bamboo and thatch for the roof and walls and constructing support pillars and framing with wood using tenon-mortise technique. None of the metal nail is used and the houses are cool and well-ventilated, thanks to the building materials of thatch and bamboo. In the M’nong language, Jun means “jutting out.” Come to Lak Lake, you may ride elephants around the village, row dugout canoes on the lake or enjoy the Gong show and drink jar-wine with the villagers. Drive to Dalat, sometimes known as the “City of Eternal Spring”. The drive is long but the views are fantastic. Established at the beginning of 20th century. Dalat is reminiscent of an alpine town with its French chalets and pine forests. (B/L/D)

Day 19: Dalat

Enjoy the sightseeing in Dalat and take in the art deco former Summer Palace of Emperor Bao Dai, Xuan Huong lake, the Central Market, Love Valley, Domaine De Marie Church & Than Tho lakes. Enjoy the cable car to the beauty of Truc Lam Zen Institute, , produces his abstract paintings and writes poetry, produces his abstract paintings and writes poetry. Visit the primitive islands with colorful flowers and take the cable cabin to see Dalat town in sky. The lake has been surrounded by many stories and legends with sorrowful endings in which the heroine drowns in the lake to keep her true love forever. Visit the Data waterfalls. Visit Linh Phuoc Pagoda, also called Ve Chai Pagoda, the unique pagoda. It was decorated by fragments of ancient porcelain. Hundreds of Buddas are present in the main hall. In the afternoon, take a cable car running from Robin Hill to the Truc Lam Temple. The ride covers 2.3 kilometers with 50 brightly painted cabins spanning the distance. The panoramic views of Dalat are worth the effort. (B/D)

Day 20: Vung Tau

Drive to Vung Tau, preserves the feel of a harmonious community of religions, mountains, beaches and architecture, both old and new, was known as Cap Saint-Jacques under French occupation. Arriving in Vung Tau, you visit the White House Palace, offering a wonderful view of the beach and the city. (B/L)

Day 21: Nho Mount - Can Tho

Morning visit the spectacular Jesus Statue for a morning panoramic view of the city and shoreline. Built in 1972, this statue is standing in Nui Nho (Nho Mount) with 32 meters high and 18.3 meters long arms. Climbing to the top; we will enjoy a breathtaking view of Vung Tau city. Transfer to the next visit Nirvana Pagoda (Niet Ban Tinh Xa) is one of the biggest pagodas in the city. When you get here, you can try to drum the giant bronze bell in the upper level for fortune, good health, and success. Depart to Can Tho. Enjoy your time at Night Market (B/L)

Day 22: Cai Rang Floating Market - Binh Thuy Ancient House - Thien Vien Truc Lam Phuong Nam

Morning take the boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong river ( Bassac river ) . The boat trip later takes you to the Cai Rang Floating Market, which are the most original ones and bustling.

Visit Binh Thuy Ancient House – one of the most ancient houses and the main background in the film L’amant of French director J. Annaud, was built in 1870 with French style in architecture. Continue visit Thien Vien Truc Lam Phuong Nam: is new pagoda and largest one in the Mekong Delta. Inaugurated in May 2014. As you enter the compound, you will find yourself on the huge spuare, flanked with two lotus ponds and lined with expensive sculptures of the praying men. The red-brick pagoda has elegantly carved wooden and windows and the tiled roof has beautifull curves and dragons. A giant bell and a gong stand in front of the temple. (B/D)

Day 23: Soc Trang - Ca Mau

Depart to Soc Trang for visit Clay Pagoda & Khmer Nation Museum. Visit city Bac Lieu, to the homeland of Cao Van Lau, who composed the Da Co Hoai Lang article, the art form of singing, the forerunner of Don Ca Tai Tu – culture medium by UNESCO recognized as Intangible Heritage of Humanity. Stop to see the villa of Cong tu Bac Lieu – a legendary rich playboy who lived in the early 1900s, famous for his wealth and lavish spending, once burned money to boil bean. Continue to Ca Mau. Visit the “Tac Say Church” (Truong Buu Diep Sepulchre Franciscan Father) – the famous Sacred Catholic. (B/L/D)

Day 24: Mangrove Forest Base - Ca Mau Cape Rach Gia

Take a canoe to explore Khu Can Cu Rung Duoc (Mangrove Forest Base). The natural scenery full of mangrove forests of birds, wild animals, and fishes gives Ca Mau a very distinctive beauty. Continue to vung Dat Mui. Ca Mau cape is the Southernmost location with the last milestone of Vietnam mainland. After having photos taken, standing by milestone 0 you can contemplate the forest and sea swelling in the distance and feel the heat mixed with the salty air. Day 25: Ha Tien - Tam Bao Pagoda - Chau Doc

Depart to Ha Tien for visit Hon Chong with Cavern Pagoda. Visit Ha Tien Thap Canh: Tam Bao Pagoda (so-called Tieu Pagoda) – one of Ha Tien highlights and also where Mac Cuu’s mother practiced religion. then Mac Cuu Mausoleum: worship and burial place of Ha Tien Town’s founder. – Thach Dong (Stone Cave) – which associates with the image of Quynh Nga Princess in Thach Sanh – Ly Thong Legend and Pass U Minh Thuong National Park to feel the beauty of Vietnam Southern Land. Visit to Mac Cuu Tombs. Phu Dung Pagoda, Thach Dong Thon Van, Xa Xia border gate. Mui Nai beach. Continue to Chau Doc downtown, to visit the traditional Trading Market, and experience lots of interesting things! So, today, let’s check out the highlights of our Vietnam 2-week itinerary to find out why this tour can be so attractive to tourists like that!

Upon arrival, you will be met outside the baggage claim area by your friendly driver who will escort you to a waiting vehicle for your transfer to downtown with a brief introduction en route. 

Your guide will be holding a welcome signboard with the Sun Getaways Travel Logo & your name . We’ll get you to your hotel and see that you’re comfortable, plus we’ll give you an introduction to the city at the same time. Then the rest of the day is yours to settle in, relax, and explore the area.

Night 1: Overnight in hotel in Hanoi

After breakfast at your hotel, our driver and tour guide will come to pick you up at about 8:00 am for a city tour. You will visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex , which includes Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (viewed from outside; closed Mon and Fri and from Oct-Nov), – the final resting place of the beloved national hero, Uncle Ho – and President Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house where he lived off and on from 1958 to 1969. 

9.30: You’ll visit the One Pillar Pagoda, which is a group of structures that collectively make up a pagoda built over the water in the middle of a square lake. After that, you’ll have a chance to explore the Tran Quoc Pagoda on the shore of West Lake. From there, it’s onto the Temple of Literature, which was Vietnam’s first university and is dedicated to Confucius. 

12.30: You have lunch at the restaurant in the Old Quarter. Afterward, you’ll visit Hoan Kiem Lake – the heart and soul of Hanoi.

Option 1: Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday

You’ll stop in at MUSEUM OF ETHNOLOGY . This superb museum showcases the depth of Vietnamese cultural diversity with an astounding collection of 15,000 artifacts gathered from throughout Vietnam. Maps, displays and dioramas are labelled in Vietnamese, French and English .

Displays portray a typical village market, the making of comical hats and a Tay shamanic ceremony ; videos show the real thing. You can also check out a traditional Black Thai house reconstructed in the museum. There’s also a centre for research and conservation where scientists from all over the world study traditional Vietnamese cultures

Option 2: Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Depart for Bat Trang ceramic village which is about 20 km away from Ha Noi, this is a pottery village with a half-millenary historic development.

15.30 – 16.00: We will come back to your hotel. Free day for shopping or relaxing at your hotel. 

Night 2: Overnight in hotel in Hanoi

Breakfast take away prepared by hotel.

6.30 – 7.00: Pick up from your hotel/accommodation in Hanoi Old Quarter, get on big bus and depart for Sapa Town.

9.30: Follow the highway to Lao Cai city with the first comfort break

11.00: Second comfort break at Lao Cai city before approaching Sapa

13.00: Arrive Sapa Town with colorful traditional costumes of H’Mong, Dzao, Tay ethnic People. Meet our local English speaking guide.

Welcome drink and itinerary briefing, enjoy the lunch with local Vietnamese dishes

14.15: A short drive to Y Linh Ho then trek through the rice terraces and along Muong Hoa Stream to the Black Hmong village of Lao Chai to see the spectacular landscape of Hoang Lien Son Mountain. You approach Ta Van village where Dzay Ethnic People inhabits in late afternoon.

Trekking distance is about 9 kms and it lasts for 3.5 hours

17.45: Check in homestay; get to know the family of Dzay People. Spend time to enjoy the mountain life on Sunset. You may attend cooking local dishes with the family and enjoy dinner in peace.

In the evening, you can join the local bar nearby with music and socialize with other tourists then overnight at Homestay in Ta Van Village.

Night 3: Overnight in homestay in Ta Van village

8.00: Have breakfast prepared by the family and start a new day with more interesting trek.

8.45: Keep walking to the rice paddies where you have a nice photo session of the amazing surrounding landscapes; a trek through the bamboo forest; stop to have a panorama view of Giang Ta Chai village – home of red Dzao People.

11.00: Trek through the Giang Ta Chai Bridge to main road, bus picks you up to come back Sapa Town.

Trekking distance is about 4 kms and it lasts for 2 hours

12.00 – 14.00: Welcome drink at hotel, have lunch with delicious Vietnamese dishes and check in procedures.

Free time in afternoon in Sapa Town. Have dinner by your own and overnight in hotel with night activities.

Night 4: Overnight in hotel in Sapa

Have breakfast at hotel and free times to discover Sapa town by yourself.

12.00: Check out and clear all the bills.

14.30: Transfer to bus office for the bus back to Hanoi

20.30: We say goodbye to you at your hotel/stay.

Night 5: Overnight in hotel in Hanoi

Following breakfast at the hotel, Sun Getaways Travel team will come to pick you up around 08h00 am with our shuttle bus to start the 3-hour-and-a-half drive to Halong Bay

Arrive at Tuan Chau Island – Take a break and a Welcome drink at the Cruise Lounge.

Welcome drink – receive cruise briefing, safety instructions and check-in. Start cruising and explore Halong Bay – one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature. Enjoy a buffet lunch with Vietnamese dishes served while cruising through the bay, passing the most beautiful and quiet areas, such as Incense Burner, Dog Stone Islet, Fighting Cock, Soi Sim Beach, and Coconut Three Island.

Visiting the Tung Gau area is covered by leaping rocks and cultured pearl fishery. You can watch the process of the jewel, from culturing to harvesting and sculpting, Moreover, you have a chance to do kayaking based on your preference. Enjoy a busy space with a pearl maker, you can experience the completion of a pearl.

Visiting the beautiful Ti Top beach for swimming (if the weather permits), Ti Top Beach is especially famous for its fresh atmosphere, clean water, and smooth white sand that create a great ambiance for tourists to relax or passengers can take steps to reach on the top of  Ti Top beach to have a whole panorama view of Halong Bay. Back to the boat and free time while sailing to the Luon Bo area , and anchor overnight.

Attend the Cooking class on sundeck – How to make Vietnamese spring rolls – traditional Vietnamese food. Then enjoy Happy Hour (Buy one drink-get one free). It is time for relaxing. Watch the magnificent sunset over Halong Bay. 

Dinner – Deluxe Vietnamese BBQ Set Menu Dinner

Evening activities include Leisure time to enjoy a chat around the bar, watching movies and many sorts of Vietnam cultural films, relaxing and spending a romantic night on Pelican Halong Cruise’s music, playing cards, chess are available, reading magazines in the room and dining room. You may also try your luck at squid fishing & fishing from the boat. End of Program for Day One. 

Night 6: Overnight on Cruise

The day starts early onboard with a Tai Chi session on the sundeck. Tai chi also called Tai chi chuan, combines deep breathing and relaxation with slow and gentle movements. Coffee, tea and pastries for breakfast are served in the dining room with a morning view of the bay’s landscape.

Transfer by tender to Sung Sot Cave . Walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance. It takes approximately 45 minutes for cave visiting. Visit Sung Sot Cave , one of the most biggest cave in Halong Bay with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. Return to the boat by tender. Proper shoes are highly recommended .

Back to Cruise. Check out and h ave a buffet brunch while cruising back to the Tuan Chau Wharf. Relaxing on the sundeck or in the dining room enjoying the bay scenery while approaching the wharf.

Disembark to Tuan Chau Wharf. Say goodbye to the crew.

Return to Hanoi by minivan. Stop over the middle to visit a traditional workshop and refreshment about 30 minutes. A rrive in Hanoi. 

Our driver will pick you up and transfer you to the airport by private car for a short flight to Hue. Meet your guide upon arrival and heading to your hotel.

Night 7: Overnight at hotel in Hue

In the morning , arrive in Hue, the guide will pick you up and bring you breakfast , and then you’ll begin your day in Hue with a visit to the ruins of the Imperial Citadel , the capital of the Nguyen Dynasty from 1802 to 1945. 

Then take a bicycle trip through the Old City to Tinh Tam Lake , the ancient gardens of the emperors. In the afternoon you can head to the Mu Pagoda , overlooking the emerald Perfume River. 

Your last stop will be to explore Khai Dinh’s Tomb , a traditional Vietnamese temple with a European touch, making it a particularly unique tomb among the ancestral ruins of ancient Hue. Then Free time for visiting the city. 

Night 8: Overnight in Hue

Breakfast at your hotel. Pick you up and transfer to Hoian. You can stop to visit Lang Co Beach. 

Drive through the Pass of Ocean Clouds for a stunning panoramic view of the mountains and sea. Arrive in Hoian, check-in and free time. 

Night 9: Overnight in Hoi An

Your cooking class today will begin with a visit to a colorful local market, buying all the necessary ingredients and heading back to prepare. Your chef will demonstrate how to cook some typical Vietnam cuisine, you will then start cooking yourself and enjoy what you have cooked.

In the afternoon, explore the enchanting time-capsule town of Old Hoi An on a walking tour with your guide . Hoi An was a major seaport in Asia  and it resulted in a fusion of style and culture that has been perfectly preserved. Wander traditional Chinese shops, luxurious  French homes , and an ancient Japanese bridge. The town is home to silk markets, Vietnamese food stalls, and talented street performers– all of which are sure to charm you.

Option 2 – Vegetable village:

Breakfast at your hotel and then it’s time for a little bit of exercise and riding a bike to Tra Que Village and a visit to a local farm. This is a very special involvement in true Vietnamese rural life. You will learn about the history of the village and then be shown the daily practices of growing vegetables. You will learn how vegetables are used in traditional Vietnamese medicine.

You will join in the activities of the farmers – collecting seaweed fertilizer, sowing, raking, watering and picking. Your cultural immersion continues as you join the family to prepare and eat the lunch you have helped grow. You will also taste other local specialties such as Tam huu (spring roll) and Banh xeo (pancake).

Of course, you must also join in the after-lunch nap before returning to the field to learn how to harvest and wrap the produce. Mid-afternoon we wave goodbye to your new friends and go back to Hoian to visit  Hoian Old Quarter . Return to your hotel for relaxing

Option 3 – Countryside biking or motor riding:

Our guide will pick you up at the hotel by motorbike, ride to Tra Que village and then ride back to the river for aboard a local ferry to  Kim Bong Village. This village is not only famous for wood carving but weaving sleeping mats as well, so we will stop at a family to see how they weaved the mat for everyday use in the old times before having today’s popular mattresses.

Visit a local family making the famous local noodle – Mi Quang is another chance to learn the local life. You also have a chance to make and eat the perfect banh dap (rice cracker). Riding into a Cam Thanh village. Have lunch at Cam Thanh homestay. Back to town for a walking tour and free in the evening.

Night 10: Overnight in hotel in Hoi An

We’ll pick you up after breakfast and take you to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City . After you arrive we’ll get you to your hotel and then you can spend the evening exploring the bustling city of Ho Chi Minh.

Night 11: Overnight hotel in Ho Chi Minh

Breakfast at your hotel, transfer for visiting Cu Chi Tunnels . After lunch in Cu Chi, the driver back to Ho Chi Minh City. This afternoon, depending on your preference, visit either the War Remnants Museum or History Museum, and the former Presidential Palace . Finish the day with a stroll around the city’s colonial architecture, including the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall

Night 12: Overnight in hotel in Ho Chi Minh

Breakfast at your hotel. The guide will pick you up and transfer you to Ben Tre .  Arrive at Ham Luong dock, you will take a boat and then cruise along Ham Luong River , a tributary to the Mekong River. The cool breeze from the river and lush tropical islands along its banks will immediately get you excited to explore all the great things ahead.

The guide will pick you up and transfer you to Ben Tre.   Arrive at Ham Luong dock, you will take a boat and then cruise along Ham Luong River, a tributary to the Mekong River. Arrive and visit various local workplaces to find many wonderful examples of how local people use ageless techniques to create their crafts, including activated charcoal, dried coconut, handy coconut husk brooms, and many family businesses using coir, or coconut fiber, to create amazing art. Cruise around the village roads by “ Xe Lôi”, the local vehicle, which is a kind of motorized rickshaw. Kayak through the natural canals to get a unique experience of the peaceful beauty of the Mekong River as well as the rural life there. Having lunch at a local host house.

After lunch, you will have some time to relax. Then take a car back to Ho Chi Minh City

Welcome up on arrival by local tour guide and driver then we transfer to hotel. Relax for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Hanoi – Free Time – Walking Tour with Street Foods (B, D)

Around 6 pm, we will start walking around the Old Quarter along different streets, try to taste many kinds of local food such as  beef/chicken noodle soup, oil-fried pastry, tofu, rice pancake, pillow cake, sweet soup, stuff pancake with pork, draught beer … and one of our best surprised is a stop at Dong Xuan whole sales market where we know many kinds of ingredients being sold.

Last but not least is our happy ending at a hidden coffee in the Old Quarters enjoy its famous  ‘egg coffee’  in a pleasant surrounding overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake. It would be a great chance to immerse in the local life of the local at weekend here. After the tour, we return back to hotel in old quarter Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – City Group Tour (B, L)

Hanoi, located in the Red River Delta, in the center of North Vietnam, and is the capital of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam, the center of culture, politics, economy, and trade of the whole country. Throughout the thousand years of its eventful history, marked by destruction, wars, and natural calamities, Hà Nội still preserves many ancient architectural works including the Old Quarter and over 600 pagodas and temples. Famous sites include the One Pillar Pagoda (built in 1049), the Confucius Temple (built in 1070), Thang Long Citadel, Hà Nội Opera House, President Hồ Chí Minh’s Mausoleum, and so on…

Itinerary of Hanoi City Tour full day:

08h00-08h30:  We will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or Hanoi Opera House. In the morning, we will visit:

• Tran Quoc Pagoda  located on the east side isle of the West Lake (Tay Ho district), is considered the most ancient pagoda in Thang Long – Hanoi with its historical progression in 1500 years. It has a harmonious combination of the majesty, hoariness of architecture, and peaceful landscape of West Lake. From the Ly and Tran dynasties period, it had become the Buddhist center of Thang Long.
• Visit the complex of President  Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum  ( Mausoleum and Stilt House ) – Where the great leader lived and worked until the last years of his life. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about Uncle Ho’s simple life. In addition, you will stop by  One Pillar Pagoda  to admire one of the 4 symbols of Hanoi.

Note:  with departure days on Monday and Friday, the Mausoleum Management Board will carry out maintenance of the mausoleum, you will visit only outside of Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, stilt house, and One Pillar Pagoda.

• Vietnam Museum of Ethnology:  This is the most recent yet probably the largest and undoubtedly the most interesting museum in Hanoi and Vietnam. There are indoor and outdoor sections, and while the in-housed exhibition is particularly informative, the outdoor display and activities make the museum stand out. There are a number of houses modeled after the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities, especially those who live in Northern and Central highlands.

On Monday, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed, instead of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum. Noon: Return to the Old Quarter to have lunch at the restaurant. After lunch, you will see 36 streets from the car and listen to the guide tell stories about the streets of the ancient urban marketplace.

Afternoon:  We will visit:

• The Temple of Literature (The first university in Vietnam):  Being an ancient school of Thang Long and the first university in Vietnam, the Temple of Literature is acknowledged as an ancient historical-cultural heritage that gives tourists a deeper understanding of Hanoi’s years of culture and tradition.
• Hoa Lo Prison:  Built-in 1899. The French held mainly political prisoners here, along with those awaiting sentencing at the nearby Court of Justice, as well as American pilots who had been shot down and captured as prisoners of war. The pilots sarcastically called it the “Hanoi Hilton. John McCain was held here at various times during his five and a half years as a POW.

16h00:  End of Hanoi City Tour, the car will take you back to the hotel.

Overnight in Hanoi Meals:  Breakfast, Lunch

Day 4: Hanoi – Shared Limousine to Sapa – Village ½ Day Tour (B)

Around 6:30 a.m., the shared D-Car will pick you up and transfer you to Sapa in 6 hours. On your arrival, you will check-in and then have a short rest before starting a short drive south toward  Muong Hoa Valley  which is the largest rice paddy terraced in the Sapa area. The walk commences at a point near an ancient rock field that was uncovered by a French researcher in 1925. There are 159 carved rocks on an area of eight square kilometers in  Muong Hoa Valley in Hau Thao and Ta Van Communes . The shapes of the carved rocks have provoked the curiosity of both local and foreign researchers wishing to decode the mysterious messages for nearly a century. After a short time to discover the rock field, you follow a dirt trail going downhill to the rattan bridge, waterfall, and  Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao people . This portion of the trek offers a stunning view of Muong Hoa valleys as well as chances to understand the life of tribal peoples in remote land when paying a visit to a local house of Red Dao. The trek continues toward the  Su Pan Village of Black H’mong people  then up to the main road where your car is awaiting a transfer back to Sapa.

Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 1 hours driving/ 2,5 hours walking.

Day 5: Sapa – Village Tour (B, L)

After breakfast, we transfer to  Cat Cat Village . After a couple of minutes, you follow the steps going downhill to  Cat Cat village . You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a while before continuing the trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. You eventually arrive in  Y Linh Ho village of the Black Hmong minority , where you can take a rest while you are served lunch near the river.

After lunch, you head toward  Muong Hoa Valley . You will pass through the  Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong minority  and then the  Tavan village of the Giay minority  by following a very popular trekking route. You will return to Sapa from Tavan by car.

Approx:  0.5-hour driving / 5 hours walking / 1-hour lunch.

Day 6: Sapa – Bac Ha Sunday Market/ Can Cau Saturday Market – Overnight Train back to Hanoi (B, L, D)

Bac Ha market, located in the heart of Bac Ha small town is the largest one in the area. Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic minority come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family. They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas. The highlights of this trip is living yourself in Bac Ha colorful market which happens only on Sunday and also taking a wonderful boat trip upstream Chay River, to have some pleasant walks through Tay village.

Around 4 am, You will be met by a local guide and driver upon your arrival at the hotel in Sapa then transferred to a local restaurant for breakfast. Then start our drive to  Bac Ha town . The road is relatively flat from Lao Cai to  Bao Nhai Bridge . After crossing the bridge, we begin our journey up to Bac Ha. Bac Ha market, located in the heart of Bac Ha small town is the largest one in the area. Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic minorities come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family. They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay, or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas. Your lunch will be provided in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we drive downhill towards  Lao Cai  for about half an hour. We stop on the way (before reaching Lao Cai) to take a short walk to  Trung Do village  inhabited by Tay people. Tay villages are always set up at the foot of a mountain or along a stream and are named after a mountain, a field, or a river. Each village contains about 15-20 households. A large village is divided into many small hamlets. The houses are built on stilts or level with the ground. Stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before taking a boat cruise upstream the Chay River. The scenery is very beautiful on both sides of the river. The boat trip will end at Bao Nhai Bridge where your vehicle will be waiting for you for the journey back to Sapa.

After the tour, we will transfer to the Lao Cai Train Station and embark the night train back to Hanoi. *Surcharge for Can Cau Market:  $40 per person

Day 7: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Board (B, L, D)

This morning, the train will arrive at 5:30 am and our guide will pick you up at Hanoi Station and we all will transfer to eat Phở Chấm as a breakfast. After breakfast, we will take a cup of coffee at the Cà Bóp Cofee Shop while waiting for the shuttle bus to pick you up to start our journey.

Around  7:45 – 8:30  am by shuttle bus to start our journey. When we arrive at  Tuan Chau Marina , you will get checked in at La Regina Royal waiting lounge, and enjoy welcome drink and express check-in before boarding. Once arrive, you will be given a short briefing about your cruise itinerary and safety regulations while you enjoy some complimentary welcoming drinks. Shortly after, we start our vacation with a delicious lunch set menu in the restaurant. As the cruise departs towards  Halong Bay  – a natural wonder of the world, absorb yourself in the gorgeous scenery and famous sights of limestone.

Around  15:00 , your first excursion is a visit to  Luon Cave . This is considered as one of the most ideal places in Halong for kayaking or rowing boat. After that, you will visit Titov Island, where you can go swimming or hike to the top for another stunning, panoramic view of the Bay. Then, we return back to the cruise and enjoy the Bay sunset while enjoying the “Happy Hour” special. You may also join our chef in the kitchen to learn how to make traditional spring rolls. At 7 pm, we enjoy our special dinner in the restaurant or on the sundeck (if the weather is permit). After dinner, it’s your choice for a fun squid fishing, spa (surcharge) or relaxing before spending the rest of night on board

11:30  Arrive at  Le Regina Royal  waiting lounge in Halong International Harbour, enjoy welcome drink and express check-in before boarding. 12:30  Transferred to  La Regina Royal Cruise  by a tender boat, enjoy a Welcome Drink from crew member while manager introduce the safety briefing and clearing our the itinerary. 13:00  Let your vacation start with a delicious lunch set menu in the restaurant. As the cruise departs towards Halong Bay – a natural wonder of the world, absorb yourself in the gorgeous scenery and famous sights of limestone. 15:00  Your first excursion is a visit to  Luon Cave . This is considered as one of the most ideal places in Halong for kayaking or rowing boat. In the early morning, we greet the new day on the sundeck with a tachi session and enjoy the fresh air on the bay while you unwind with a cup of tea or coffee.  Following, we visit to the magnificent  Sung Sot Cave , where you can take in the panoramic views across Halong Bay. After time in here, we return back to  La Regina Royal Cruise  and spend time to check-out before having the Vietnamese cuisine buffet is served at the restaurant while the boat heads back to the harbor and get on the shuttle bus to return back to Hanoi in around 2.5 – 3 hours.

06:00  Greet the new day on the sundeck with Tai Chi Exercise. 06:30  Light breakfast is served at the restaurant. 07:30  After breakfast, Your next excursion is a visit to the magnificent  Sung Sot Cave , where you can take in the panoramic views across Halong Bay. 09:00  Come back to La Regina Royal Cruise. Check out of the cabin. 09:45  A Vietnamese cuisine buffet is served at the restaurant while the boat heads back to the harbor. 11:00  Disembark at the harbor. After returning back to Hanoi, we will transfer to Noi Bai Airport for the flight to Danang. On your arrival in Danang, our car and English-speaking tour guide will wait at Danang International airport to transfer you to Hoi An Ancient Town for accommodation.

Day 9: Hoi An – Farming & Fishing Eco Group Tour – Walking Tour Around The Ancient Town (B, L)

We have an early start this morning as we head off to our  Farming & Fishing Life Eco Tour.  Starting at  Tra Que Village , we will get a personal insight into the local farming communities. We set about joining the farmers in preparing their land for sowing, helping to fertilize the garden using seaweed from the local river and watering it in using huge tin cans strapped to our backs. Following this, we will begin our leisurely cycling tour through the countryside witnessing local Vietnamese rural life first hand. Late morning we will board our  Hoi An Eco-tour boat for a river cruise . Here we will meet and witness local fishermen working their craft, before enjoying a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. We then transfer to a  Vietnamese bamboo basket boat for a quick race and ride down a coconut palm lined waterway . Lunch today, is on board our boat, which is prepared using vegetables picked earlier at Tra Que Village.

After lunch, we have some free time to wander around Hoi An town centre before heading back to the hotel. Then, we will start our walking tour around the ancient town to visit the  Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky’s old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, and the temples, and pagodas of Chinese appearance . Then we are back to our hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Morning 07:00 am – 08:00 am : Our Minivan and a tour guide pick you up at the hotel lobby.  Reach Ba Na Hills via Cable Car. 9:30 am : Spend your time on the most modern Cable Car in Southeast Asia, then take The Climbing Train to visit the top of the mountain& further explore Le Jardin D’Amour (consists of 9 gardens), Debay Wine Cellar (old wineries) & Linh Ung Pagoda.  Continue the 2 nd  Cable Car  to visit the French Village (enjoy Street Music, watch Art’s statue), Campanile, Nine Floor Goddess Shrine, Tombstone Temple, Linh Phong Monastery, Linh Chua Linh Tu Temple & Tru Vu Tea Shop. Watch Carnival Performance Show, Square Du Dome … Challenge the most popular adventure ride – Slide of Tube Car (free ride),

Afternoon 11:00  Visit the  Golden Bridge . Located in the middle of the mountain, the bridge is designed to be soft, the entire bridge covered with a magnificent yellow. From the distance, the bridge is like a silk strip floating in white clouds. What makes the bridge more special is the huge supporting hand. Lunch at Restaurant (Buffet).

Day 12: Danang – fly to Nha Trang (B)

This morning we transferred back to Danang airport for a short flight to  Nha Trang . On arrival, we will be met and driven to our hotel, which is overlooking the Bay. The rest of the day free for strolling in the town, lazing on the beach, or whatever takes your fancy. We’ll spend the night in Nha Trang.

Day 13: Nha Trang – Free Time (B)

Today is a free day. Optional Program:  City Tour with Mud Bath (L) 9 AM:  We go to the harbor by car; visit  Vienam Oceanographic Institute . Get on the boat; photo stop at  Tri Nguyen aquarium (outside), Snorkel at Tam island; Enjoy local basket boat and explore the life of fishermen at Mieu fishing village. Then come to Bamboo resort for a special seafood lunch, Relax and swim at Bamboo Island  till the time you want to come back to the mainland. Then we go to the resort hot spa which is an ideal place for health recovery. Indulge yourself by soaking in the warm spring water and mineral mud and then you surely feel so… fresh as a daisy at the hotel.

Day 14: Nha Trang – Dalat – City Tour (B, L)

This morning, you will enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before departing to Dalat. Today we visit seven wanted places of Dalat city with the first destination of Robin Hill, 1,650m in height to get the panorama of the romantic city of Dalat. We will then visit Truc Lam Zen Monastery that is the largest Zen Monastery in Vietnam (Cable car upon request); Tuyen Lam Lake, considered the nicest lake in Dalat;  Bao Dai Summer Palace  where the last Emperor of Vietnam, Bao Dai King (1913 – 1997) stayed and ruled his Vietnam from 1949 to 1954.

After lunch, we keep on visiting the  Crazy House  a brightly painted concrete house that winds itself around trees, mimicking their shapes;  Dalat Railway station  which is remarkable with its architecture and its old steam locomotive;  Trai Matgo  through vegetable farms. Later in the day, we take a 7km train to this place (one-way train only),  Linh Phuoc pagoda , this pagoda is the most colorful and decorated one in Dalat, caved with tens of thousands of beer bottles and broken china ceramic,  Lat minority people’s village , where the people live in wooden, thatched huts.

Day 15: Dalat – Cau Dat Farm – Coffee & Wine (B, L)

Da Lat is well known for the best quality agricultural products of Vietnam such as vegetable, fruit and tea. Please join our new tour to discover the beautiful landscape and countryside of Da Lat.

  After your breakfast at hotel. Transfer with ESG on a scenic road from Da Lat to  Cau Dat townlet . Discover Dalat’s countryside on the way. Cau Dat farm is the favourite destination for those who love nature, breathing in fresh air and enjoy the peace and quietness of the countryside. On arrival, visit the oldest tea farm and tea factory of Vietnam which was built in 1927. Sip the hot tea in the cool air of the museum among hundred years old machines and learn the history of tea farming and producing. Then go by buggy to visit and harvest the organic vegetable and fruit at the farms nearby. Taste the cucumber, lettuce and strawberry ( seasonal dependant ) direct from the plants. Wow! What a sweet and fresh taste ! Take picture of the vast green tea platation hills. Then stop at a coffee shop on the hillside. Try some cake and taste the best cup of coffee in the best moutain view of Dalat. Lunch is taken at a local restaurant.

After lunch, drive to the  Lado wine factory . What a surprise that Vietnamese can make not only wine but the best wine. Visit the wine cellar and wine glass castle. Taste wine and learn Vietnam wine history, walk around the factory. On the way back to the city, visit one of  the biggest bell in Vietnam at Linh Phuoc pagoda. Take pictures of beautiful hill terrace there. Then back to the hotel

Day 16: Dalat – Lak Lake – Yan Tao Ethnic Village – Gong show (B, L, D)

From Dalat, we will transfer to Lak Lake in 4 hours. Welcome at Lak Lake boat pier; transfer guest to LAK Tented Camp by boat. Check in and relax. Have lunch at Y Lak Restaurant.

In the afternoon, LAK Tented Camp’s tour guide will assist guests explore cultural aspects & local life at  Yang Tao Ethnic Village , experience handmade pottery made by M‘Nong people, visit gardens of coffee, drink fermented cocoa. Back to LAK Tented Camp, enjoy Gong show, drink  Ruou Can  (Tube Wine). Have dinner at Y LAK Restaurant

Day 17: Lak Lake – Dray Nur Waterfall – Ban Don Suspension Bridge – Akothon Village – Buon Me Thuot (B, L, D)

After breakfast at the hotel, we leave for Buon Ma Thuot. Make some stops along the way to take beautiful photos of the scenery, including  Dray Nur Waterfall . Lunch in Ban Don at a small restaurant.

After lunch, you will visit the  Ban Don Suspension Bridge  and the ancient stilt house of the elephant-hunting king. Ban Don Suspension bridge is located on the banks of the Serepok River, made of bamboo, and rattan, and reinforced with iron cables. It is about 1 km long, with many segments connected in harmony with a system of rest floors. Then, move to  Akothon village  in the afternoon and have a cup of coffee at  Arul House .

Day 18: Buon Me Thuot – Pleiku – Bien Ho Lake – Minh Thanh Pagoda (B, L, D)

This morning, we will transfer to Pleiku. Arrive around midday, check in your motel, and take a short break. Following lunch, you’ll go to  Bien Ho Che ,  Lake Bien Ho,   Minh Thanh Pagoda , and  Central Market . Pleiku offers a free meal and overnight stay.

Day 19: Pleiku – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Today will be a free day before you take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, welcome upon arrival by a local tour guide and driver then we transfer to the hotel for check-in. After check-in, we will be free to wander around the hustle and bustle city

Day 20: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels Group Tour (B, L)

Group size:  4   – 1 2  people

At 7.30 am, we will pick you up at the hotel in HCMC. The first place of the morning trip is  Independence Palace,  also known as the Reunification palace, which was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace. The Independence palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu. We continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the  Notre Dame Cathedral,  and the historic  Central Post Office.  Followed by the remarkable site of the  War Remnants Museum  the museum has a vast display of both the Indochina wars. Lunch will be served in the local restaurant

Depart for Cu Chi tunnel, the trip will take approximately one and a half hours of bus driving. Upon arrival, before exploring the tunnels, you will have a short introduction followed by an introductory video about how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived in the harsh conditions of wartime. Then, you can spend your time exploring the remaining area and tunnel systems which included the specially constructed living areas with kitchens, and bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers helping whoever lives inside the tunnels meet their basic needs. Besides, there are also many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purposes during the war. Afterward, special tea and cassava (guerilla’s food during the war) will be served.

We have a break time for relaxation or time for those who want to try a real shooting gun. At 7 pm, we return to Ho Chi Minh City.

*The Notre Dame Cathedral has been restored, so the guests just visit outside. *Drop-off time is subject to traffic, weather…so the finished time could be later than expected.

Day 21: Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh Long – Can Tho – Group Tour (B, L, D)

Group size: 25 people

07:30:  Pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and start the trip to Cai Be. Upon arrival in  Cai Be,  have a boat ride to the remaining site of a renowned wholesale floating market on the Tien River many years ago. This site entitles you to learn something about the local trading habits that has changed due to the age of modern society when more terrestrial transportation and high techniques of agriculture have dominated everywhere. There, you can realize how diverse the area is and how rich orchard gardens are, which makes it the basket of fruit in the lower part of the Mekong River.

Ramble in small villages where you will uncover the beauty of an ancient house and learn about the indigenous culture. Make a short visit to a small family business where the locals make coconut fudges and crispy rice popcorn. Savor delicious fresh fruit and feel the slow rhythms of  Southern Vietnamese folk music  – a kind of music entwined with the life and culture of the Mekong Delta people. Paddle through small canals – an exciting experience since you can look around, unwind, and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of the Upper Mekong Delta. Additionally, after arrival on Tan Phong Island, immerse yourself in nature’s tranquility.

At lunch time, you not only enjoy luscious food but also get closer to the locals as it is a chance to learn how to prepare Vietnamese specialties. The meal is cooked on your own and served in the heart of the local garden. Cycle on the village path through orchards. Meet the local islanders to learn more about the local daily life in the Mekong Delta. Visit Ba Kiệt’s ancient house. Take a boat ride back to Cai Be and meet your bus for the trip to Can Tho City.

Day 22: Cai Rang – Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)

Have breakfast at the hotel. You can take a leisurely boat ride to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River), then visit  Cai Rang Floating Market , the most vibrant floating market in the area.

Walking tour of the local noodle factory. Visit  Munir Ansay Pagoda  – a Khmer temple, famous for its unique structure. Then, move by boat to the Con Son tourist area, visit the fruit plantation, and enjoy seasonal fruits. Have lunch and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 23: Ho Chi Minh City – Shared Limousine to Mui Ne (B)

Today, we take the limousine to Mui Ne.

After breakfast we start our tour of the capital from the  Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum , a symbolic building that preserves the remains of the famous Vietnamese President in the centre of Ba Dinh Square where the Declaration of Independence was read in 1945.

We move on to the  Presidential House , built in colonial style, and the  One Pillar Pagoda , the name refers to its special structure supported by a single pillar, a symbol of the purity of the lotus flower. It was built by Emperor Ly Thai Tong as a good omen for the birth of a male son who would inherit the throne.

We then travel to the  West Lake , the largest natural reservoir of 4 square kilometres in Hanoi, to  Tran Quoc Pagoda , the capital’s oldest Buddhist temple built in the 6th century, and to the  Temple of Literature , the nation’s first university and Imperial Academy built in 1070 in honour of Confucius.

In the afternoon, we visit the  Old Quarter , “ Old Hanoi “, aboard a traditional cyclò as we meander through the narrow streets that criss-cross the historic centre and take their name from the type of goods sold.

We stop at   Hoan Kiem Lake , also known as   the   Lake of the Restored Sword , and continue over the red wooden bridge   The Huc   that leads to the   Ngoc Son temple , or   temple of the Jade Mountain . We end the day with the world-famous   water puppet show .

03. NINH BINH, HOA LU AND TRANG AN

In the morning we drive to  Ninh Binh , about 100km south of Hanoi, in the southern part of the Red River Delta.

Famous for the hundreds of limestone cliffs that rise out of the ground in the vast rice fields, this region is aptly nicknamed “ Halong Bay on land ”. In addition to the incredible views, the visit is a great opportunity to experience Vietnam’s rural lifestyle.

We visit  Hoa Lu , the former capital until 1010 AD, a place with a remarkable past, witness to numerous events that changed the course of the nation’s history. Afterwards we continue with a visit to the  Bai Dinh  and  Le temples .

In the afternoon we visit  Trang An Complex , a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its system of caves, valleys and historical relics. We cruise down the river to relax while admiring the spectacular natural park.

Once finished, transfer to Hanoi train station in time for the overnight train to Lao Cai in North Vietnam.

04. LAO CAI - BAC HA MARKET

Arrival in  Lao Cai  very early in the morning, around 5.30 am. After breakfast in a local restaurant we continue to  Bac Ha , the small town in the Northeast of Vietnam particularly famous for its tribal market “ Bac Ha Sunday Market ” which only takes place on Sunday morning.

The bazaar is undoubtedly the most exciting visit of the trip as it enables us to dip into the colourful traditions of the Nung, Mong Flower and Black Dzao ethnic minorities, as they meet at the market to barter for goods.

In the afternoon, we enjoy a  boat trip on the scenic Chay River surrounded by sheer mountain scenery.

We continue with a short trek to   Ban Pho village   to admire the amazing rice terraces from above and to meet the friendly H’Mong tribe.

05. TREKKING LAO CHAI, TA VAN, SAPA

We spend the day exploring the surroundings of  SaPa  on foot, crossing rice fields and stopping at the most breath-taking lookout points.

After breakfast we continue through the  Muong Valley , the most scenic valley in the area, towards the Muong Hoà River. Along the small paths we stop at some local dwellings to watch the authentic daily lifestyle of the local tribes known for their great hospitality.

Passing by  Lao Chai , inhabited by the Black H’Mong tribe, we reach  Ta Van , the picturesque village of about 1000 inhabitants of different ethnic groups including Zday and Red Dao.

In the afternoon we return to   SaPa   and continue with the transfer to Hanoi.

06. HALONG CRUISE

Early morning transfer to Ha Long port (approx. 4h). Upon arrival board the junk for an unforgettable cruise in  Halong Bay , a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994 and considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World since 2008.

Stretching over an area of more than 1500 square kilometres, it is home to thousands of small monolithic limestone islands, fantastic caves and a marine biodiversity and biosystem with a wide variety of flora and fauna.

During the navigation in the  beautiful naturalistic scenery of the bay  you can practice some activities foreseen by the program established by the navigation company such as swimming, snorkelling, kayaking, visiting a limestone cave and a fishing village, or simply relax surrounded by the extraordinary landscape.

Both lunch and dinner are served on board and include a tasting of seafood. Overnight stay in an air-conditioned private cabin.

07. HALONG CRUISE - HUE

The cruise offers the privilege of watching the spectacular  sunrise over Halong Bay . If you wish, you can take part in a Tai Chi class on the deck of the junk at 6am.

On the way back to Ha Long port, lunch will be served on board to conclude this unique experience.

We spend the day visiting Hué , the former capital of South Vietnam in 1744 and from 1802 to 1945 during the reign of the Nguyen Dynasty.

It was founded in 1687, initially under the name Phu Xuan, along the banks of the Perfume River, which divides the city into two parts: on the left bank the Old City with the Citadel and the imperial residences , and on the right bank the New City, once inhabited by Europeans.

In 1802 it was renamed to its present name by Emperor Nguyen Anh. Hué is also known for its spectacular imperial tombs , ancient pagodas , temples and of course its fine cuisine.

We embark on a boat trip on the Huong River , better known as the Perfume River for the poetic view and fragrant aroma of the orchids that fall into the river in autumn. We visit the Thien Mu Pagoda , or “ Pagoda of the Celestial Lady “, a symbol of Hué, built in the 17th century during the Le Dynasty.

We then continue to the Imperial City , the fortified palace built inside the Citadel in 1623.

In the afternoon we visit the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang , the second of the Nguyen Dynasty, and the Tu Hieu Pagoda , considered to be one of the most fascinating places of worship.

After breakfast transfer to Hoi An , the ancient mercantile hub surrounded by a variety of spectacular landscapes, featuring a range of buildings built with Chinese and Japanese artistic influences, evidence of a vibrant commercial past in the 2nd century AD.

On the way we pass through Danang , Vietnam’s third largest city, Hai Van Pass , better known as the ” Ocean Cloud pass ” for its incredible view of the China Sea, Lang Co , a place of beautiful paddy fields and gorgeous beaches.

Further south we come across the ‘ Marble Mountains ‘, a cluster of five hills named after the five elements and where several Buddhist and Hindu sanctuaries can be found within the mountains.

In the afternoon we visit the ancient city of Hoi An , a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1999, with its buildings that still retain the classic style and characteristics of the merchant cities of the 15th-19th centuries with Chinese, Japanese and European architectural influences.

We visit the Japanese Bridge and the adjoining Cau Chua Pagoda built at the end of the 16th century by the Japanese community.

We continue to the old Phung Hung House built in 1780, one of the finest examples of architecture in Hoi An.

We conclude the day with a visit to the Fukien Temple built at the end of the 17th century by the Fujian Chinese congregation.

11. Flight TO SAIGON

12. VISIT CU CHI TUNNEL AND SAIGON

After breakfast transfer to Cu Chi , the most devastated district, bombed and poisoned by Napalm during the Vietnam War.

We visit Cu Chi tunnels , the famous underground network of tunnels that has played a crucial role in the survival of many people. The first works date back to the 1940s, when the Vietnamese began digging tunnels to escape compulsory conscription, French attacks and to keep in touch between villages. In the 1960s, the Viet Cong extended the tunnels to over 250km and since then they have become legendary during the Vietnam War.

In the afternoon we visit Saigon , the former Royal Prey Nokor capital at the time of the Khmer Kingdom, later capital of the French Colony, or Cochinchina, as well as of the Independent Republic of South Vietnam until 1976 when it was renamed Ho Chi Minh City by the homonymous leader.

Among the main highlights we visit the Post Office , built in the 19th century with Renaissance and Gothic influences, Notre Dame Cathedral built during the French colony, and the Thien Hau Pagoda , an excellent example of the Chinese architecture dedicated to the Goddess of the Sea.

We end the day with a visit to the War Museum , a permanent exhibition of the atrocities of the Vietnam War.

13. MEKONG DELTA - BEN TRE

Our journey moves on to Vietnam’s southern provinces to the  Mekong Delta . For thousands of years, it has played an important role, initially in trade due to its advantageous geographical position on the sea route between India and China, and today above all in the economic field, to the point that it has been named the “ rice bowl of Vietnam “.

Upon arrival in  Ben Tre , we visit the rural areas to learn about the daily activities that are still carried out following ancient traditions. Fishing and agriculture are without doubt the key sectors in this area. Along the way, we stop to observe some production processes that give us an insight into the lifestyle of the Mekong people.

We also stop to see a  kiln  used for traditional brick firing, a  workshop for processing coconut  and other derivative products and a  weaving house  where straw mats are still made by hand.

We board a sampan , the traditional wooden boat, through the narrow inlets of the Delta and dock in a village to visit a local house and taste the delicious South Vietnamese cuisine.

In the afternoon we continue cruising the canals for a special visit to the home of Mr. Khanh, a passionate collector of antiques and very special artefacts relating to the history of Vietnam, as well as original family photos from the French colonial period.

Afterwards transfer to Can Tho .

14. CAI RANG FLOATING MARKET - DEPARTURE

Early in the morning we visit the famous Cai Rang floating market , one of the most picturesque in the Mekong Delta. The local markets are traditionally held at dawn and are a must to admire in amazement the hard work of Vietnamese traders.

We embark at the Can Tho jetty and cruise through the crowded water bazaar , surrounded by boats of different sizes used by local traders.

Exotic fruits, vegetables and flowers in huge quantities contribute to enhance this vibrant colourful scenery. Afterwards we visit some local houses.

Following this, transfer to Saigon airport in time for your departure flight.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: ha noi arrival (-).

Welcome up on arrival by local tour guide and driver then we transfer to hotel. Relax for the rest of the day.

Day 2: Hanoi – Free Time – Walking Tour with Street Foods (B, D)

Around 6 pm, we will start walking around the Old Quarter along different streets, try to taste many kinds of local food such as  beef/chicken noodle soup, oil-fried pastry, tofu, rice pancake, pillow cake, sweet soup, stuff pancake with pork, draught beer … and one of our best surprised is a stop at Dong Xuan whole sales market where we know many kinds of ingredients being sold.

Last but not least is our happy ending at a hidden coffee in the Old Quarters enjoy its famous “ egg coffee” in a pleasant surrounding overlooking Hoan Kiem Lake. It would be a great chance to immerse in the local life of the local at weekend here. After the tour, we return back to hotel in old quarter Hanoi.

Day 3: Hanoi – City Group Tour (B, L)

Hanoi, located in the Red River Delta, in the center of North Vietnam, and is the capital of the Socialist Republic of Việt Nam, the center of culture, politics, economy, and trade of the whole country. Throughout the thousand years of its eventful history, marked by destruction, wars, and natural calamities, Hà Nội still preserves many ancient architectural works including the Old Quarter and over 600 pagodas and temples. Famous sites include the One Pillar Pagoda (built in 1049), the Confucius Temple (built in 1070), Thang Long Citadel, Hà Nội Opera House, President Hồ Chí Minh’s Mausoleum, and so on…

Itinerary of Hanoi City Tour full day:

08h00-08h30:  We will pick you up from your hotel in Hanoi Old Quarter or Hanoi Opera House. In the morning, we will visit:

• Tran Quoc Pagoda  located on the east side isle of the West Lake (Tay Ho district), is considered the most ancient pagoda in Thang Long – Hanoi with its historical progression in 1500 years. It has a harmonious combination of the majesty, hoariness of architecture, and peaceful landscape of West Lake. From the Ly and Tran dynasties period, it had become the Buddhist center of Thang Long.
• Visit the complex of President  Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum  ( Mausoleum and Stilt House ) – Where the great leader lived and worked until the last years of his life. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about Uncle Ho’s simple life. In addition, you will stop by  One Pillar Pagoda  to admire one of the 4 symbols of Hanoi.

Note:  with departure days on Monday and Friday, the Mausoleum Management Board will carry out maintenance of the mausoleum, you will visit only outside of Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, stilt house, and One Pillar Pagoda.

• Vietnam Museum of Ethnology:  This is the most recent yet probably the largest and undoubtedly the most interesting museum in Hanoi and Vietnam. There are indoor and outdoor sections, and while the in-housed exhibition is particularly informative, the outdoor display and activities make the museum stand out. There are a number of houses modeled after the traditional architecture of ethnic minorities, especially those who live in Northern and Central highlands.

On Monday, the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology is closed, instead of the Vietnamese Women’s Museum. Noon: Return to the Old Quarter to have lunch at the restaurant. After lunch, you will see 36 streets from the car and listen to the guide tell stories about the streets of the ancient urban marketplace.

Afternoon:  We will visit:

• The Temple of Literature (The first university in Vietnam):  Being an ancient school of Thang Long and the first university in Vietnam, the Temple of Literature is acknowledged as an ancient historical-cultural heritage that gives tourists a deeper understanding of Hanoi’s years of culture and tradition.
• Hoa Lo Prison:  Built-in 1899. The French held mainly political prisoners here, along with those awaiting sentencing at the nearby Court of Justice, as well as American pilots who had been shot down and captured as prisoners of war. The pilots sarcastically called it the “Hanoi Hilton. John McCain was held here at various times during his five and a half years as a POW.

16h00:  End of Hanoi City Tour, the car will take you back to the hotel.

Day 4: Hanoi – Shared Limousine to Sapa – Village ½ Day Tour (B)

Around 6:30 a.m., the shared D-Car will pick you up and transfer you to Sapa in 6 hours. On your arrival, you will check-in and then have a short rest before starting a short drive south toward  Muong Hoa Valley  which is the largest rice paddy terraced in the Sapa area. The walk commences at a point near an ancient rock field that was uncovered by a French researcher in 1925. There are 159 carved rocks on an area of eight square kilometers in  Muong Hoa Valley in Hau Thao and Ta Van Communes . The shapes of the carved rocks have provoked the curiosity of both local and foreign researchers wishing to decode the mysterious messages for nearly a century. After a short time to discover the rock field, you follow a dirt trail going downhill to the rattan bridge, waterfall, and  Giang Ta Chai village of Red Dao people . This portion of the trek offers a stunning view of Muong Hoa valleys as well as chances to understand the life of tribal peoples in remote land when paying a visit to a local house of Red Dao. The trek continues toward the  Su Pan Village of Black H’mong people  then up to the main road where your car is awaiting a transfer back to Sapa.

Approx: Grade 2 of 5/ 1 hours driving/ 2,5 hours walking.

Day 5: Sapa – Village Tour (B, L)

After breakfast, we transfer to  Cat Cat Village . After a couple of minutes, you follow the steps going downhill to  Cat Cat village . You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station for a while before continuing the trek on a dirt trail through rice paddy terraces. You also will enjoy spectacular scenery while walking along a narrow river. You eventually arrive in  Y Linh Ho village of the Black Hmong minority , where you can take a rest while you are served lunch near the river.

After lunch, you head toward  Muong Hoa Valley . You will pass through the  Lao Chai village of the Black Hmong minority  and then the  Tavan village of the Giay minority  by following a very popular trekking route. You will return to Sapa from Tavan by car.

Approx:  0.5-hour driving/ 5 hours walking/ 1-hour lunch.

Day 6: Sapa – Bac Ha Sunday Market/ Can Cau Saturday Market – Overnight Train back to Hanoi (B, L, D)

Bac Ha market, located in the heart of Bac Ha small town is the largest one in the area. Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic minority come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family. They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas. The highlights of this trip is living yourself in Bac Ha colorful market which happens only on Sunday and also taking a wonderful boat trip upstream Chay River, to have some pleasant walks through Tay village.

Around 4 am, You will be met by a local guide and driver upon your arrival at the hotel in Sapa then transferred to a local restaurant for breakfast. Then start our drive to  Bac Ha town . The road is relatively flat from Lao Cai to  Bao Nhai Bridge . After crossing the bridge, we begin our journey up to Bac Ha. Bac Ha market, located in the heart of Bac Ha small town is the largest one in the area. Every Sunday, the different and colorful ethnic minorities come all here to sell their homemade products or buy something for the family. They are Hmong, Phu La, Back Dzao, Tay, or Nung minorities. Some of these ethnic minorities can’t be met in any other areas. Your lunch will be provided in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we drive downhill towards  Lao Cai  for about half an hour. We stop on the way (before reaching Lao Cai) to take a short walk to  Trung Do village  inhabited by Tay people. Tay villages are always set up at the foot of a mountain or along a stream and are named after a mountain, a field, or a river. Each village contains about 15-20 households. A large village is divided into many small hamlets. The houses are built on stilts or level with the ground. Stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before taking a boat cruise upstream the Chay River. The scenery is very beautiful on both sides of the river. The boat trip will end at Bao Nhai Bridge where your vehicle will be waiting for you for the journey back to Sapa.

After the tour, we will transfer to the Lao Cai Train Station and embark the night train back to Hanoi. *Surcharge for Can Cau Market:  $40 per person

Day 7: Hanoi – Halong Bay – Overnight on Board (B, L, D)

This morning, the train will arrive at 5:30 am and our guide will pick you up at Hanoi Station and we all will transfer to eat Phở Chấm as a breakfast. After breakfast, we will take a cup of coffee at the Cà Bóp Cofee Shop while waiting for the shuttle bus to pick you up to start our journey.

Around  7:45 – 8:30  am by shuttle bus to start our journey. When we arrive at  Tuan Chau Marina , you will get checked in at La Regina Royal waiting lounge, and enjoy welcome drink and express check-in before boarding. Day 8: Halong Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Danang – Hoi An (B, Br)

In the early morning, we greet the new day on the sundeck with a tachi session and enjoy the fresh air on the bay while you unwind with a cup of tea or coffee.  Following, we visit to the magnificent  Sung Sot Cave , where you can take in the panoramic views across Halong Bay. After time in here, we return back to  La Regina Royal Cruise  and spend time to check-out before having the Vietnamese cuisine buffet is served at the restaurant while the boat heads back to the harbor and get on the shuttle bus to return back to Hanoi in around 2.5 – 3 hours.

06:00  Greet the new day on the sundeck with Tai Chi Exercise. 06:30  Light breakfast is served at the restaurant. 07:30  After breakfast, Your next excursion is a visit to the magnificent  Sung Sot Cave , where you can take in the panoramic views across Halong Bay. 09:00  Come back to La Regina Royal Cruise. Check out of the cabin. 09:45  A Vietnamese cuisine buffet is served at the restaurant while the boat heads back to the harbor. 11:00  Disembark at the harbor. After returning back to Hanoi, we will transfer to Noi Bai Airport for the flight to Danang. On your arrival in Danang, our car and English-speaking tour guide will wait at Danang International airport to transfer you to Hoi An Ancient Town for accommodation.

Day 9: Hoi An – Farming & Fishing Eco Group Tour – Walking Tour Around The Ancient Town (B, L)

We have an early start this morning as we head off to our  Farming & Fishing Life Eco Tour.  Starting at  Tra Que Village , we will get a personal insight into the local farming communities. We set about joining the farmers in preparing their land for sowing, helping to fertilize the garden using seaweed from the local river and watering it in using huge tin cans strapped to our backs. Following this, we will begin our leisurely cycling tour through the countryside witnessing local Vietnamese rural life first hand. Late morning we will board our  Hoi An Eco-tour boat for a river cruise . Here we will meet and witness local fishermen working their craft, before enjoying a hands-on experience of traditional net fishing. We then transfer to a  Vietnamese bamboo basket boat for a quick race and ride down a coconut palm lined waterway . Lunch today, is on board our boat, which is prepared using vegetables picked earlier at Tra Que Village.

After lunch, we have some free time to wander around Hoi An town centre before heading back to the hotel. Then, we will start our walking tour around the ancient town to visit the  Japanese Covered Bridge, the Pottery Museum, Tan Ky’s old house, the Cantonese congregation, the silk street of Hoi An, and the temples, and pagodas of Chinese appearance . Then we are back to our hotel and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

Morning 07:00 am – 08:00 am : Our Minivan and a tour guide pick you up at the hotel lobby.  Reach Ba Na Hills via Cable Car. 9:30 am : Spend your time on the most modern Cable Car in Southeast Asia, then take The Climbing Train to visit the top of the mountain& further explore Le Jardin D’Amour (consists of 9 gardens), Debay Wine Cellar (old wineries) & Linh Ung Pagoda.  Continue the 2 nd  Cable Car  to visit the French Village (enjoy Street Music, watch Art’s statue), Campanile, Nine Floor Goddess Shrine, Tombstone Temple, Linh Phong Monastery, Linh Chua Linh Tu Temple & Tru Vu Tea Shop. Afternoon 11:00  Visit the  Golden Bridge . Located in the middle of the mountain, the bridge is designed to be soft, the entire bridge covered with a magnificent yellow. From the distance, the bridge is like a silk strip floating in white clouds. What makes the bridge more special is the huge supporting hand. Lunch at Restaurant (Buffet).

Day 12: Danang – fly to Nha Trang (B)

This morning we transferred back to Danang airport for a short flight to  Nha Trang . On arrival, we will be met and driven to our hotel, which is overlooking the Bay. The rest of the day free for strolling in the town, lazing on the beach, or whatever takes your fancy. We’ll spend the night in Nha Trang.

Day 13: Nha Trang – Free Time (B)

Today is a free day. Optional Program:  City Tour with Mud Bath (L) 9 AM:  We go to the harbor by car; visit  Vienam Oceanographic Institute . Get on the boat; photo stop at  Tri Nguyen aquarium (outside), Snorkel at Tam island; Enjoy local basket boat and explore the life of fishermen at Mieu fishing village. Then come to Bamboo resort for a special seafood lunch, Relax and swim at Bamboo Island  till the time you want to come back to the mainland. Then we go to the resort hot spa which is an ideal place for health recovery. Indulge yourself by soaking in the warm spring water and mineral mud and then you surely feel so… fresh as a daisy at the hotel.

Day 14: Nha Trang – Dalat – City Tour (B, L)

This morning, you will enjoy an early breakfast at the hotel before departing to Dalat. Today we visit seven wanted places of Dalat city with the first destination of Robin Hill, 1,650m in height to get the panorama of the romantic city of Dalat. We will then visit Truc Lam Zen Monastery that is the largest Zen Monastery in Vietnam (Cable car upon request); Tuyen Lam Lake, considered the nicest lake in Dalat;  Bao Dai Summer Palace  where the last Emperor of Vietnam, Bao Dai King (1913 – 1997) stayed and ruled his Vietnam from 1949 to 1954.

After lunch, we keep on visiting the  Crazy House  a brightly painted concrete house that winds itself around trees, mimicking their shapes;  Dalat Railway station  which is remarkable with its architecture and its old steam locomotive;  Trai Matgo  through vegetable farms. Later in the day, we take a 7km train to this place (one-way train only),  Linh Phuoc pagoda , this pagoda is the most colorful and decorated one in Dalat, caved with tens of thousands of beer bottles and broken china ceramic,  Lat minority people’s village , where the people live in wooden, thatched huts.

Day 15: Dalat – Cau Dat Farm – Coffee & Wine (B, L)

Da Lat is well known for the best quality agricultural products of Vietnam such as vegetable, fruit and tea. Please join our new tour to discover the beautiful landscape and countryside of Da Lat.

  After your breakfast at hotel. Transfer with ESG on a scenic road from Da Lat to  Cau Dat townlet . Discover Dalat’s countryside on the way. Cau Dat farm is the favourite destination for those who love nature, breathing in fresh air and enjoy the peace and quietness of the countryside. On arrival, visit the oldest tea farm and tea factory of Vietnam which was built in 1927. Sip the hot tea in the cool air of the museum among hundred years old machines and learn the history of tea farming and producing. Then go by buggy to visit and harvest the organic vegetable and fruit at the farms nearby. Taste the cucumber, lettuce and strawberry ( seasonal dependant ) direct from the plants. Wow! What a sweet and fresh taste ! Take picture of the vast green tea platation hills. Then stop at a coffee shop on the hillside. Try some cake and taste the best cup of coffee in the best moutain view of Dalat. Lunch is taken at a local restaurant.

After lunch, drive to the  Lado wine factory . What a surprise that Vietnamese can make not only wine but the best wine. Visit the wine cellar and wine glass castle. Taste wine and learn Vietnam wine history, walk around the factory. On the way back to the city, visit one of  the biggest bell in Vietnam at Linh Phuoc pagoda. Take pictures of beautiful hill terrace there. Then back to the hotel

Day 16: Dalat – Lak Lake – Yan Tao Ethnic Village – Gong show (B, L, D)

From Dalat, we will transfer to Lak Lake in 4 hours. Welcome at Lak Lake boat pier; transfer guest to LAK Tented Camp by boat. Check in and relax. Have lunch at Y Lak Restaurant.

In the afternoon, LAK Tented Camp’s tour guide will assist guests explore cultural aspects & local life at  Yang Tao Ethnic Village , experience handmade pottery made by M‘Nong people, visit gardens of coffee, drink fermented cocoa. Back to LAK Tented Camp, enjoy Gong show, drink  Ruou Can  (Tube Wine). Have dinner at Y LAK Restaurant

Day 17: Lak Lake – Dray Nur Waterfall – Ban Don Suspension Bridge – Akothon Village – Buon Me Thuot (B, L, D)

After breakfast at the hotel, we leave for Buon Ma Thuot. Make some stops along the way to take beautiful photos of the scenery, including  Dray Nur Waterfall . Lunch in Ban Don at a small restaurant.

After lunch, you will visit the  Ban Don Suspension Bridge  and the ancient stilt house of the elephant-hunting king. Ban Don Suspension bridge is located on the banks of the Serepok River, made of bamboo, and rattan, and reinforced with iron cables. It is about 1 km long, with many segments connected in harmony with a system of rest floors. Then, move to  Akothon village  in the afternoon and have a cup of coffee at  Arul House .

Day 18: Buon Me Thuot – Pleiku – Bien Ho Lake – Minh Thanh Pagoda (B, L, D)

This morning, we will transfer to Pleiku. Arrive around midday, check in your motel, and take a short break. Following lunch, you’ll go to  Bien Ho Che ,  Lake Bien Ho,   Minh Thanh Pagoda , and  Central Market . Pleiku offers a free meal and overnight stay.

Day 19: Pleiku – Fly to Ho Chi Minh City (B)

Today will be a free day before you take a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. On arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport in Ho Chi Minh City, welcome upon arrival by a local tour guide and driver then we transfer to the hotel for check-in. After check-in, we will be free to wander around the hustle and bustle city

Day 20: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels Group Tour (B, L)

Group size:  4   – 1 2  people

At 7.30 am, we will pick you up at the hotel in HCMC. The first place of the morning trip is  Independence Palace,  also known as the Reunification palace, which was built on the sight of the former Norodom palace. The Independence palace is a widely known landmark of Ho Chi Minh City and was designed by the architect Ngo Viet Thu. We continue seeing the beautiful structures from the French Colonial times such as the  Notre Dame Cathedral,  and the historic  Central Post Office.  Followed by the remarkable site of the  War Remnants Museum  the museum has a vast display of both the Indochina wars. Lunch will be served in the local restaurant

Depart for Cu Chi tunnel, the trip will take approximately one and a half hours of bus driving. Upon arrival, before exploring the tunnels, you will have a short introduction followed by an introductory video about how the tunnels were constructed and how the people survived in the harsh conditions of wartime. Then, you can spend your time exploring the remaining area and tunnel systems which included the specially constructed living areas with kitchens, and bedrooms side by side with other martial facilities like storage, weapons factories, field hospitals, and command centers helping whoever lives inside the tunnels meet their basic needs. Besides, there are also many hidden trap doors and dangerous traps within the maze-like tunnels for security purposes during the war. Afterward, special tea and cassava (guerilla’s food during the war) will be served.

We have a break time for relaxation or time for those who want to try a real shooting gun. At 7 pm, we return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 21: Ho Chi Minh City – Vinh Long – Can Tho – Group Tour (B, L, D)

07:30:  Pick up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and start the trip to Cai Be. Upon arrival in  Cai Be, have a boat ride to Cai Be town. This site entitles you to learn something about the local trading habits that has changed due to the age of modern society when more terrestrial transportation and high techniques of agriculture have dominated everywhere. There, you can realize how diverse the area is and how rich orchard gardens are, which makes it the basket of fruit in the lower part of the Mekong River.

Ramble in small villages where you will uncover the beauty of an ancient house and learn about the indigenous culture. Make a short visit to a small family business where the locals make coconut fudges and crispy rice popcorn. Savor delicious fresh fruit and feel the slow rhythms of  Southern Vietnamese folk music  – a kind of music entwined with the life and culture of the Mekong Delta people. Paddle through small canals – an exciting experience since you can look around, unwind, and soak up the wonderful atmosphere of the Upper Mekong Delta. Additionally, after arrival on Tan Phong Island, immerse yourself in nature’s tranquility.

At lunch time, you not only enjoy luscious food but also get closer to the locals as it is a chance to learn how to prepare Vietnamese specialties. The meal is cooked on your own and served in the heart of the local garden. Cycle on the village path through orchards. Meet the local islanders to learn more about the local daily life in the Mekong Delta. Visit Ba Kiệt’s ancient house. Take a boat ride back to Cai Be and meet your bus for the trip to Can Tho City.

Day 22: Cai Rang – Floating Market – Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)

Have breakfast at the hotel. You can take a leisurely boat ride to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River (Bassac River), then visit  Cai Rang Floating Market , the most vibrant floating market in the area.

Walking tour of the local noodle factory. Visit  Munir Ansay Pagoda  – a Khmer temple, famous for its unique structure. Then, move by boat to the Con Son tourist area, visit the fruit plantation, and enjoy seasonal fruits. Have lunch and return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Be welcomed by our guide and driver at Noi Bai International Airport flight from … to Hanoi.

Our guide waits for you at the exit gate of the airport and transfers you to downtown Ha Noi city, a city of lakes, shaded boulevards, public parks, and the capital of Vietnam.

Ha Noi Capital City is a great place for street food, night life to experience. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Ha Noi City Tour & Duong Lam Ancient Village. O/n In Hanoi (B/L)

Morning activities:

Begins the morning City tour to the Westlake for a sightseeing and visit to the Quan Thanh Temple and Tran Quoc Buddhist Pagoda – two of the most ancient temples in Hanoi City.

Next continue to visit the Temple of Literature – Vietnam’s first National University where so many kings studied and the training of thousands of the best talented mandarin of the country.

And then leave Hanoi for Duong Lam Ancient village, 60 km from central Hanoi to the West. Duong Lam village is a purely agricultural village which still preserves and stands many hundred-year-old houses.

Once arriving at the village you will make your walking tour from the Main Entrance of the village, which gives you an amazing hamlet as original architecture still remains till today.

Visit Mong Phu communal house which is located in the very center of the Duong Lam village and is one of the beautiful artwork, typical of Northern Vietnam.

You have lunch at a local family to have a chance to interact with local villagers.

Afternoon activities:

Continue your walking through the narrow alleys of the village and have more chances for sightseeing and taking photos of the old laterite brick houses which make up the special feature and unique for the village.

Visit Mia Pagoda at another village since the 15th century with 287 statues of all sizes to get more knowledge of the history and its unique architecture.

And then return to Hanoi City and spend your balance time for more experience of its charms.

Day 3: Hanoi - Trang An Grotto - Mua Cave - Hanoi (B/L)

Leave your hotel in Hanoi at 8:00 am and transfer to Ninh Binh province (98 Kms). On arrival in Ninh Binh you start your visit day trip for Kong Skull Island 2017 Film.

First you start the route to visit Trang An Grottoes on a local rowing boat to see the beautiful scenery taken in this famous film. Visit Ethnic village in the film to get more experience.

And then visit one of the most beautiful caves in Trang An Grottoes complex by rowing boat to experience the amazing landscapes known as Halong on land. Free to have your lunch.

This afternoon you continue to visit Mua Cave and listen to its interesting stories from our guide. You will climb 500 stone steps to the top of the cave where you can view the majestic landscapes of Tam Coc cave. Especially Ngoa Long Mountain (Dragon Mountain) on the way to Mua cave will give you a great impression of beautiful landscapes. No better way to take photos of amazing scenery for mountains, countryside, wonderful Ngo Dong River, etc.

After that the driver and guide will transfer you back to Hanoi city.

Spend your balance dinner wandering around or you can join a water puppet show at a theater near Hoan Kiem Lake to learn more of an old art in Vietnam. Spend your night in Hanoi.

Day 4: Hanoi - Halong Bay - Bai Tu Long Bay. O/n On Dragon Pearl Junk (B/L/D)

Leave Hanoi city on a luxury van (optional can order a private car) to Halong Bay. You will have a stop at Yen Duc village to enjoy a water puppet show. Have lunch in Yen Duc village. At noon time you leave Yen Duc village and continue your trip to Halong bay.

Embark Hon Gai International harbor at 13:30 pm. Check in on board and enjoy welcome drinks and have a cruise briefing. Travel to Cap La where you enjoy paddling and kayaking in Tra San. After that you return junk for relaxing. Have dinner at a restaurant on board.

Evening is your time to relax in your cabin and enjoy your own time for the bay night. Overnight on board.

Day 5: Bai Tu Long Bay - Hanoi & Flight To Hue. O/n In Hue (B/L)

Enjoy the fresh air and gentle breeze of the bay in the morning. Have breakfast on board. Then cruise to Vung Vieng fishing village by a rustic row-boat, meet the local people and pass through the floating school and fish farms. You check out of the cabin at 10:00 am, start cruising towards the harbor. Have lunch on board.

Disembark at Hon Gai habor at noon time.

Our driver welcomes you at 13:15 pm in a luxury van to return to Hanoi city. You spend 3.5 hours to reach Ha Noi city.

Note : If traveling on shuttle bus will have a stopover at Yen Duc village to enjoy a water puppet show. In case you choose a private car there will be non-stop. And then the driver of a private car drops you off at Noi Bai airport to take a flight to Hue.

Reaching Phu Bai airport, you are welcomed and transferred to downtown in Hue city centre and checked in room.

Spend your first night in Hue city to wander around and get your own enjoyment. Overnight at your hotel in Hue.

Day 6: Hue Full Day Cycling To Countryside. O/n In Hue (B/L)

Start your cycling around Hue city today to Hue Imperial City to learn about the last Dynasty Palace in Vietnam. There are many constructions for you to visit right in The Forbidden Purple City

Next is cycling to Thien Mu pagoda and passing through tranquil villages and experiencing local life and its simple beauties. Travel along Perfume River to return to the city centre and free for your lunch time.

Continue your cycling this afternoon through the countryside road to visit Thanh Toan village. You have a chance to visit an ancient, roof-tiled bridge which was built back in the 18th century. This is also the chance to stroll around this lovely spot with a peaceful atmosphere, local market, and very interesting farming museum to help you understand more about local life. In April and May it is like gold silk when rice fields are in ripening time, it brings you a wonderful picture of the peaceful countryside.

Say goodbye to the peace village and bike back to your hotel.

Free in the evening and wander around the streets along Perfume River, Trang Tien Bridge, walking streets for more enjoyment of its charm. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 7: Hue - Da Nang - Hoian. O/n In Hoi An (B/L)

Leave Hue in the morning on National Highway No 1 to Hoi An and have stopover time and get more enjoyment at Lang Co Beach, Fishing village, Hai Van pass and conquer its beauties for the windy road pass.

Then travel ahead to Da Nang city known as the famous beach in Vietnam. You are driven through a beach road along the coastline to chill in its beauties.

Make a visit to Da Nang city at Cham Museum with the whole collections of Cham Pa Sculpture displayed here and then Marble Mountain known as Five Mountains, named after the five elements of the ancient oriental philosophy: metal, wood, water, fire and earth.

Travel ahead to Hoi An Town and make a check in room late afternoon.

Evening is the time for your own experience around streets of Hoi An ancient town, enjoy street foods, local life, etc. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 8: Cooking Class & Walking Tour In Hoi An. O/n In Hoi An (B/L)

In the morning, you walk with a Chef to the local market and buy the ingredients. The Chef will introduce you to the local market as well as the things they sell there. Here is also the chance to see the local people habitant of going to the local market every morning as an indispensable tradition.

Then from the market, head to the cooking class in a beautiful restaurant where the chef will teach the group to make the dishes. After the instruction you will cook by yourself.

After dishes have been done, relax and enjoy your lunch.

Continue the trip by walking time to discover the beauty of Hoi An ancient town.

The tour includes stops at several famous landmarks. The first is Chua Ong Pagoda, dating back to 1653 and built in honor of the Chinese general Quan Cong, who is worshiped by many as a symbol of loyalty and justice.

Next is Phuc Kien Assembly Hall, to see the Jinshang Temple which is dedicated to the goddess of the sea and the protector of sailors.

Then visit Tan Ky ancient house, a 200 year old ancestral house. Finally, stroll across the often photographed 17th century covered bridge built by Japanese craftsmen called Japanese Bridge. The beautifully built bridge doubles as a temple and is a major landmark of Hoi An. Free to have your own account for dinner.

Evening is the free time to experience Hoian ancient town with sparkling lantern light and enjoy street food for your own enjoyment. Hoian is more charming at night with different lanterns. Especially, if you are in full moon time, the whole town has no electric lights, just only lantern lights which give you more charm and are ancient.

Day 9: Hoian Free & Take Flight To Nha Trang. O/n In Nha Trang (B)

Have more free time on your own way in Hoian and then the driver transfers you to the airport for taking flight to Nha Trang. Spend your rest of time on the beach to get more leisure time on the nice sandy beach of Nha Trang Beach city in Vietnam. Overnight at your hotel in Nha Trang.

Day 10: Nha Trang Boat Trip & Mud Bathing. O/n In Nha Trang (B/L)

Leave your hotel in Nha Trang transfer to Cau Da port for your boat trip cruising on the Nha Trang Bay. You take a boat trip to visit Mun island, the exciting boat start, we spend 45’to get to Mun island. You have one and half hours at Mun Island to observe the structure of Stalagmite Island and enjoy snorkeling on the extraordinary coral reefs which are covered with the multicolored fishes.

Then leaving for Mot Island. Have lunch with many excellent dishes, enjoying the floating bar with lots of fun.

Getting to Tam island and taking a rest at Tam Resort. You can enjoy the fruit party and also some water sports. Back to Tri Nguyen Aquarium on Hon Mieu island. Visiting aquarium and seeing sea biology inside Neptune’s place with hundreds of fishes.

The boat lands at the harbor then transfers to Thap Ba Hot Spring for relaxing with mud bathing to get new energy.

Free in the evening to discover Nha Trang beauties at night, walk around the seashore street and enjoy seafood, etc. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 11: Nha Trang Free On Beach. O/n In Nha Trang (B)

Have a full day free on the beach of Nha Trang and swim on pure blue sea water. Nha Trang is a beach bay city of Vietnam where there is a nice sandy beach for swimming and sunbathing. Overnight at a hotel in Nha Trang.

Optional: You can take a full day trip city tour in Nha Trang or discover Monkey Island, Nha Phu Bay, ect. Nha Trang offers you many other interesting island for enjoyment and discover.

Take an afternoon flight from Nha Trang to Ho Chi Minh City and spend your rest of time in Ho Chi Minh. It will be your impression that this big city of Vietnam is the busiest all day without having night sleep.

Have a free time in the evening for shopping at Ben Thanh night market or take a drink at a pub & bar along District 1. Overnight at your hotel in HCM.

Day 14: Cu Chi Tunnels & City Tour. O/n In HCM (B/L)

What impressive for Vietnamese in war to fight against the enemy! Visit Cu Chi tunnels. It will give you the chance to learn lively Vietnamese history and people. Try yourself through narrow tunnels which are the home, work, school… in the past underground.

How exciting today is? Let’s take a full day to discover Mekong Delta – the land which is very famous for fruit tropical gardens and river life which give you the most impressive views in southwest Vietnam.

Leave your hotel in HCMC at 8.00 am and depart for My Tho. Take a boat ride along the river, view the stilt houses and the fruit plantation along the river bank.

Continuing the boat ride to Tortoise Island for lunch by your own account and enjoy more beauties in this island.

Have a boat ride to Tan An and enjoy cruising on a hand-rowed sampan under the shade of coconut trees along natural canals. You will enjoy seasonal fruit & honey tea to the sound of “Southern Vietnamese folk music”, performed by the local people. Here is the chance to visit a family business which epitomizes the idyllic rural lifestyle. Day 1 beijing.

Arrive at any time. Attend a welcome meeting in the evening followed by an orientation walk with your CEO in the area of Beijing near the joining hotel. There will be an optional group dinner afterwards at a local restaurant.

Day 4 Beijing/Xi’an

In the morning catch a bullet train from Beijing to vibrant Xi'an. After settling in at your hotel go on an orientation walk with your CEO and visit points of interest around the city like the bustling Muslim Quarter. Known as one of Xi'an's most fascinating areas, you will pass the lovely and unusual Great Mosque and wander by food stalls with some of the best street eats in China.

Day 5 Xi’an

Visit one of China’s greatest archaeological treasures—the Terracotta Warriors. This evening, opt for a dumpling banquet with your CEO and group.

Spend a free morning in Xi'An then board a bullet train in the afternoon to Chengdu. After getting settled at the hotel, join an orientation walk around the city. In the evening sit down for a Hotpot dinner with the group.

Day 7 Chengdu

Enjoy a morning visit to see pandas at the Giant Panda Breeding Research Base. Witness the conservation efforts being made to save this endearing species. Afterwards, take time for lunch on your own before your CEO will take the group to People's Park by metro for an orientation walk. End the walk in Tianfu Square, located in the city centre of Chengdu. Take the metro back to the hotel before an optional group dinner in the evening.

Day 8 Chengdu/Lijiang

Spend the morning free in the bustling city of Chengdu. Opt to visit the Wenshu Monastery or Kuanzhai Alley. Take an afternoon flight from Chengdu to Lijiang.

Day 9 Lijiang

After a morning orientation walk of Lijiang, visit the the Black dragon Pool and the spectacular views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain above the marble bridge. Upon finishing the tour, head to Lijiang Old town to and explore the must see spots like The Giant Water Wheel, Wangu Tower and Lion Hill. Then enjoy a free evening. Opt to visit the Mufu Museum or grab dinner with your group.

Day 10 Lijiang/Shaxi

Drive to Shaxi Old Town first thing this morning and head out for a walking tour of this ancient, medieval town full of Buddhist culture. Visit the iconic spots of the town like the Old Market Square, the Old Theater, and Yujin Bridge. This afternoon, enjoy free time in this beautiful town. Opt to visit the Xingjiao Temple or the Ouyang Courtyard.

Day 11 Shaxi/Dali

We head to the next town this morning, the thousand year old village of Xizhou Old Town. Explore the well preserved architecture with a tour led by your CEO. Then after a bit of free time in Xizhou, drive to Dali. Head out for an orientation walk and to Dali Old Town. Join your group and CEO for dinner together at a local restaurant. On the way back to the hotel, admire the lanterns that light up this beautiful town at night.

Day 12 Dali

This beautiful lakeside town is yours to do as you wish today! Opt to explore the Old Town, cycle around Dali town or Lake Erhai. Maybe visit the National Geological park of Cangshan Mountain on a hike or on the cable car. A local favorite is the Three Pagodas at Chongsheng Temple or you could learn the art of traditional Tie-Dying by the local Bai people. With so many options, the choice is yours!

Day 13 Dali/Kunming

Together we'll catch a morning train to Kunming, known as one of China's best natural phenomenons with all its waterfalls, lakes and karst formations. After an orientation walk of the town, opt to head to lunch to try the famous local rice noodle dish. This afternoon, visit the jaw dropping Kunming Flower Market, the largest flower market in all of Asia. Then head to the Green Lake (Cuihu) Park where not only will you see your first glimpse of this karst mountain, lake filled town, but you'll also witness locals dancing, singing and playing instruments during their leisure time.

Day 14 Kunming/Jianshui

China explorations await and its off to Jianshui. After an orientation walk, take an tour of the city. Visit the Xianghui Bridge, the Xianghui old train station, the Double Dragon Bridge, the Chaoyan Tower and the Zhu's Family Garden. Then enjoy a free evening.

Day 15 Jianshui/Yuanyang

Start the day with a tofu workshop and watch how the locals make this popular dish. Afterwards, drive toward Yuanyang to visit the impressive Yuanyang Rice Terraces, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and see the sunshine reflect off the carved out mountainside. We'll spend the day exploring this huge rice terrace from different viewpoints and do some gentle hiking through the greenery. This place is special to visit. In a country often associated with bustling, crowded and noisy cities, this picturesque and peaceful landscape will transport you to a whole new side of China.

Day 16 Yuanyang

Opt to rise early, and we recommend you do, to see the sun rise over the beautiful and peaceful Duoyishu Scenic Area. Take a short hike to the Pugao Old Village and see the local way of living. In the afternoon, we'll head to the main scenic area of the rice terrace with a chance to catch an epic sunset scene and meet some locals living in the field. Walk through Quan Fuzhuang to Bada platform and admire the incredible view.

Day 17 Yuanyang/Sa Pá

Say goodbye to China this morning and drive to Hekou Border to cross into Vietnam. Your Chinese CEO will help you get to immigration but will stay in China. You'll meet your new Vietnamese CEO once you cross through customs. After arrival into Vietnam drive to the beautiful mountain region of Sapa. The first stop is at the Muong Hoa Batik House for a painting experience with the local indigenous group, the Hmong people. Then we'll sit down together for an authentic and rustic hotpot dinner, a specialty of the Sapa regional cuisine.

Day 18 Sa Pá

With mountainside covered in lush green rice terraces, picturesque villages tucked away in the hills and a rich culture unique to this region, Sapa is a must visit, off the beaten path part of Vietnam. Today, spend the whole day trekking some of the best trails of the country. Hike through local villages, rice terraces and tea plantation. We'll stop part way on the trek to eat lunch at a local restaurant. After finishing the trek, head back to your hotel for the evening.

Day 19 Sa Pá/Hanoi

After breakfast at the hotel, we'll depart from Sapa this morning and drive to the bustling city of Hanoi. After a long drive, we'll leave our bags at the hotel. Then it's time to explore Hanoi and what better way than on the front of a cyclo. Have a seat as you zoom through Hanoi's lively Old Quarter. After the tour, enjoy free time in the city before meeting together to start the next portion of your trip.

Day 20 Hanoi/Ha Long

Enjoy a Ha Long Bay cruise on a junk boat with visits to a cave and an island lookout. Savour a seafood lunch and dinner.

Day 21 Ha Long/Huế

Enjoy breakfast and lunch on board before sailing back to the port and return to Hanoi. Enjoy some time in the city before an overnight train to Hue.

Guided tour of the Imperial Citadel, Royal Tomb and Tien Mu Pagoda.

Day 23 Huế/Hoi An

Drive the Hai Van pass. Take advantage of Hoi An's many options over the 2.5 days in town. Opt for a cooking class, riverboat trip, bike ride, beach time, tailor visit or My Son ruins.

Day 24 Hoi An

Explore all Hoi An has to offer. Dive into the culture, hang out on the beach or get clothes tailor-made in one of the many shops around town. Enjoy a noodle making demonstration and lunch at Oodles of Noodles, a G Adventures-supported project.

Day 25 Hoi An

Spend a free day exploring all Hoi An has to offer.

Day 26 Hoi An/Ho Chi Minh City

Fly from Hoi An to Ho Chi Minh City with free time to explore this hectic city.

Day 27 Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy a guided tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels and learn more about the Vietnam War. Use free time in the afternoon to explore sprawling Ho Chi Minh City.
