Due to overwhelming demand, global music icon and GRAMMY Award winner  Alicia Keys  announced 2023 Latin America dates to continue her  Alicia + Keys World Tour.  Produced by Live Nation, the Latin American leg will kick off on May 3 at Jeunesse Arena in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil making stops across Argentina, Chile, and Colombia before concluding with three nights in Mexico across Monterrey, Mexico City, and Guadalajara on May 14, 17 and 19.

The Latin American leg comes after a sold-out European arena tour and a widely successful North America run in 2022 which featured all-new custom designed staging, lighting, and costuming.

Alicia Keys Expands ‘Alicia + Keys World Tour’ Into Latin America

Alicia Keys is going back on the road again. The 15-time Grammy-winning singer, songwriter and producer has announced a Latin America leg of her massive Alicia + Keys World Tour .

The tour, produced by Live Nation, begins in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, on May 3 and hits venues in territories such as Sao Paulo and Mexico City before wrapping on May 19 in Guadalajara, Mexico.

In an Instagram post, Keys could hardly contain her excitement about coming to Latin America this spring.

“Latin America Fam!! This is finally happening,” Keys wrote, with three party face emojis to follow. “I’ve been dreaming about this and you’ve been asking about this!! We had to make it happen!!!”

Keys’ new leg of her Alicia + Keys World Tour follows its incredible 2022 run across North America and in the U.K. and European territories.

The tour then and now supports her 2020 album, ALICIA , and its 2021 sequel, KEYS , and 2022 deluxe edition, KEYS II , respectively.

ALICIA was featured on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2020 list .

Of the album, Rated R&B’s Antwane Folk said , “ ALICIA is an artistic breakthrough for Keys, creating a genre-bending world of pioneering R&B and alt-pop soul with clear imprints of trendy stylings.”

In a December 2021 interview with Rated R&B , Keys gave more insight into KEYS , part Originals and part Unlocked.

“It is an invitation for all of us to show up to ourselves and not hold back any part of ourselves. I think a lot of us oftentimes feel like we have to dim it down and small it down. No, I refuse it anymore. I invite us all to refuse it because there’s a power and a special energy that we all have,” Keys explained of the album concept.

KEYS II arrived in August 2022, just two months before Keys released her holiday-themed album, Santa Baby .

The album produced the No. 1 single “Trillions” featuring Brent Faiyaz, extending her lead with the most leaders (13) on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It also topped R&B radio .

“ Come For Me ,” the latest focus track from KEYS II , on which Khalid and Lucky Daye feature, is No. 18 on the Adult R&B Airplay list at the time of publication.

Keys posted a video of herself singing the Spanish version of “ If I Ain’t Got You ,” one of her most famous songs. “The countdown is on Latin America. I’m getting ready for you,” she captioned the post. Fans were quick to cheer her on in the comments, praising her voice and her excitement. “Even in another language I can’t understand you give me chills when you sing,” wrote a follower. “I love her more now!” wrote someone else.

Keys had previously shared the dates of her tour, which is has various stops in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Colombia and Chile. The Latin American leg of her tour kicks off in Rio de Janeiro, on May 3rd, and concludes on May 19th, in Mexico. “Latin America Fam!! This is finally happening!!!!!!!!!!” she captioned the post. “I’ve been dreaming about this and you’ve been asking me about this!! We had to make it happen!!! I can’t wait to see you and lose ourselves in the music!!”

Keys shared that tickets would go on sale starting March 22nd. Her world tour kicked off in the US in June of this year, with stops all over North America and Europe. “The KEYS TO THE SUMMER TOUR is going to be completely unforgettable and unmissable! I describe it as a celebration of freedom and self-liberation! It’s going to be colorful, magical and will light up your body, soul and all of your senses! This is my first time creating a 360 experience and we’ve made sure it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen! I’m so excited to see y’all this summer!” explained Keys of her show to LiveNation.

Alicia Keys decided to bring one of Música Mexicana’s prodigies onstage with her as she wraps her tour in Latin America.

During her performance at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional on Wednesday, Keys welcomed Ángela Aguilar and a mariachi to perform Aguilar’s “Qué Agonía” and her own Spanglish hit “Looking for Paradise.”

Videos from the concert captured the two hitting the duet’s high notes by each other’s side as they performed a new Spanglish rendition (with Keys singing the English lyrics) of “Qué Agonía” while backed by a complete mariachi band.

“We just had the most epic night,” said Keys on Aguilar’s Instagram story.

“It was so good,” added Aguilar.

“Thanks for such a beautiful night. I’m so grateful for everything I’ve lived thanks to music and thanks to you all. It’s beautiful to connect with people I admire, love and respect,” Aguilar wrote on Instagram. “I live in the clouds. Thank you for everything.”

Aguilar also joined Keys during her stop in Monterrey over the weekend, where they sang the Sanz collaboration. Keys has welcomed famed Latin stars to join her onstage as she tours Latin America. She welcomed Cazzu in Argentina and Karol G during a stop in Colombia to perform “No One.”

Alicia Keys Embraced Summery Style at Dior’s Mexico City Show

Alicia Keys’s trip to Mexico City last week was a whirlwind. Last Wednesday, the singer kicked off her eventful visit to Mexico’s capital with her final performance on her Latin American tour at the Auditorio Nacional. “I’ve been all over Latin America,” says Keys. “I just finished performing in Mexico City and Guadalajara.” To keep the excitement going, Keys attended Maria Grazia Chiuri’s resort 2024 collection for Dior. “To be here for Dior and Maria Grazia is really awesome,” says Keys. “It was the most beautiful way to end the most incredible tour.”

Both events were a special occasion for Keys, given it was her very first time in Mexico City. In addition to the amazing food and beautiful architecture, the star says she was instantly drawn to the city’s people. “I just really love the people, the energy, the love,” says Keys. “The art is incredible.” She was particularly struck by just how big the city is, too. “Culturally, it is so rich and it’s such a big city—so much bigger than you would maybe even think,” she says. “There’s the big city element, and then you can drive an hour away and go to the pyramids.”

For the Dior show, Keys selected an easy, summery look from the label that was all about the crop top—something she thinks reflects her own personal style. “I always like to look like myself,” says Keys. “I loved my look: It felt playful—casual, but fun. I love the crop top and the way that it tied in the back. I also loved the details of the beautiful elephants—the material of the piece.” She accessorized the look with a silver choker necklace and sleek sunglasses. “I loved the whole vibe,” says Keys.

She described the runway, which she watched from the front row, as an “emotional” experience. “The inspiration that was taken from Mexican culture that was honored, just really seeing that play out in the show was really beautiful—with all the hairstyles, the faces of the women and the diversity of the models,” Keys says. “I thought that was really powerful.” The star’s favorite part was the impactful statement made during the finale, when Chiuri showcased white dresses with red embroidery that called attention to missing or murdered Indigenous women. “The statement at the end of the show that Maria Grazia made with the women in white, I thought that was tremendous,” says Keys. “To learn and to discover more about how many Mexican women go missing. . . and to create a special moment in the show for that, was really powerful. It shows the way that we can combine art, fashion, and activism to open people’s minds to what’s happening.”

Now that her Mexico City jaunt is over, however, Keys will rest for a bit. But come June, she’ll be right back to work with her “Keys to the Summer” tour, which kicks off on June 28th in the U.S. “It’s going to be incredible,” says Keys. “It’s my first 360 [degrees] show ever! The stage is right in the middle of the entire arena. It’s going to be one of the most beautiful, special things I’ve ever done.” We can’t wait.

WATCH: Alicia Keys Performs with Mariachi Alongside Ángela Aguilar in Mexico City

Alicia Keys is currently on her Latin American tour. After inviting  Karol G to join her in Colombia , the American singer-songwriter called in Ángela Aguilar to share the stage in Mexico City. On May 17, the two singers sang a bilingual mariachi version of Aguilar’s “Qué Agonía” and Keys’ “Looking For Paradise” at the Auditorio Nacional in the Mexican capital.

“Thank you for such a beautiful evening. I feel very grateful for everything I have experienced thanks to music and thanks to you,” Aguilar  wrote on an Instagram story  after the surprising performance. “It’s so nice to connect with people I admire, love, and respect so much. I am living in clouds. Thank you for everything and for so much.” She also thanked her parents and her fanbase–which she calls Angelitxs–for their continuous support.

This isn’t the first time the Princess of Mexican Music  has graced the stage with Keys . Earlier this week, Aguilar joined Keys during her show in Monterrey, MX, on May 14. Aguilar performed the classic song “La Malagueña.” Together, they performed “Looking For Paradise.” However, this is the first time Keys performs with a mariachi band, giving a special traditional treat to her fans in Mexico City. 

Fans were excited to see Keys appreciating mariachi during her set. A Twitter user wrote: “Alicia Keys singing with mariachi… I love her more.” Another Twitter user echoed the same sentiment: “Alicia Keys singing ‘Que Agonía’ with Ángela Aguilar is really wonderful.”

It’s been an exciting tour run in Latin America for Keys, inviting Latine artists to perform with her throughout her stops. Besides Karol G in Colombia (May 11), she also shared the stage with Ana Tijoux in Chile (May 9) and Cazzu in Argentina (May 7). Her last Latin American date is Fri. (May 19) at the Auditorio Telmex in Guadalajara, MX. Will she invite a different Mexican artist to perform with her?

Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz Host an Elegant Opening-Night Gala for Their Art Exhibition in Atlanta

The attendees wore suits, gowns, sleeveless suit jackets, cocktail dresses, hoodies, Timbs - one person even sported a cape. It was "Come as you are, but be fly" on Friday night at Atlanta's High Museum of Art where the power couple of Alicia Keys and Swizz Beats unveiled their exhibit, "Giants: Art from the Dean Collection of Swizz Beatz and Alica Keys," which will have a five-month residency in the city. Rappers Lil Baby and Killer Mike, artist-songwriter-producers Jermaine Dupri, The-Dream, Sean Garrett and Mike Will Made It, DJ/former MTV VJ Ed Lover and Roc Nation Executive Lenny Santiago were among the attendees.

"This is a representation of breaking out of all boxes - busting through all ceilings," Keys said to the audience from the DJ booth. "Knowing we are completely unlimited, free to fly. Thank you to our ancestors for bringing us here today. We're standing on their shoulders. Without them we couldn't even be standing here." 

The Dean Collection tour features over 100 works from Swizz (born Kasseem Dean) and Alicia Keys' personal collection -15% of their total assemblage of more than 1,000 pieces, worth millions of dollars. The tour started on February 10 at the Brooklyn Museum in both artists' hometown, New York City, where it remained until July 7. This past Friday, September 13- Swizz's birthday - saw the launch of the second stop on the tour in his second hometown of Atlanta, where it can be seen at the High Museum until January 19, 2025. It will trek to various cities around the world through 2030.

"We collect from the heart," Swizz told Variety on Friday.  "We like collecting subjects that people can pull from, learn from and go deep. There's photography, sculptures, artifacts, many things."

Jermaine Dupri said, "There's a lot of inspiration in here - a lot of Black art. It makes me want to get this shit for my house!" Special drink mixes of Hennessy and salmon sliders were served. Swizz's DJ, DJ Runna, played throwback R&B classics such as Jaheim's "Just In Case" and Next's "Wifey." DJ Princess Cut also spun later in during the five-hour long event.

As one enters the exhibition, a synopsis on the wall reads, "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants," which is all about legacy and paying homage to those who paved the way. The term "giants" references the size of many of the works - which easily cover a museum wall - and gives props to the featured 37 artists of color, ranging from legends such as Gordon Parks and Jean-Michel Basquiat to modern icons like Kehinde Wiley and new visionaries.

"I think it's dope that that Swizz is introducing this to a younger generation," Dupri continued. "Not so young, but it's a younger generation of people in here from hip-hop that that'll get interested in art and also learn about its value. It's something it's something people of color should learn about. I love that they brought it here to Atlanta."

"Shout out to Swizz and Alicia," Mike Will Made It said. "They're pushing [culture] forward."

Although Swizz and Alicia collect art from all over the world, they wanted the traveling Dean Collection to spotlight Black and brown artists, especially living ones. Keys has said that the goal of collection is to "collect, protect and respect," nodding to her "brilliant" husband (who gifted her with a painting on their third date) for his taste and intuition for what's next in the art world.

For Swizz, the event was also a joyful return to the stomping grounds of his youth. Swizz grew up in the South Bronx during the ‘80s, where he says he fell in love with art and music around the same time. His grandfather was an amateur photographer and had a darkroom in their family home; Swizz was also fascinated by the graffiti murals on the subways as well as the hip-hop music that blared from speakers in the parks, from apartment windows and cars that drove through the neighborhood. Before he became the architect of the Ruff Ryders crew's sound, he was so rough around the edges he kept getting kicked out of high school in his early teenage years, hence his teenage relocation to Atlanta.

"It's like a homecoming," Swizz said on Friday, standing with his mother and some friends. "Atlanta actually saved me and gave me a reset of life. And to be able to bring the collection here to give back, to give life, it's amazing to see all of us in here. We got the museum looking the color it needs to be, Black and brown with these white walls. I'd like to thank the High Museum for having the courage to do such an exhibit and change the audience and add the education to it. Hopefully, we're opening up the gates for many more collectors and many more artists to be noticed and seen - this is a big, big blessing."

Keys also led the attendees in prayer, a toast and in wishing her husband a happy birthday. After the exhibit, The Dean Family turned a nearby warehouse into party venue where they celebrated Swizz's birthday along with family and friends such as 2 Chainz and Cordae.
