7 Best Anfield Parking Tips | Visiting Liverpool 2024

Parking near Anfield Stadium

Looking for the best Anfield Parking Tips ? You’ve come to the right place. There’s nothing more stressful than arriving to a new city and not being able to find a parking space.

That’s why we’ve compiled a list of our Top Tips alongside the best places to park around Anfield Stadium when travelling my car.

Whether you’re a Liverpool Football club fan or you’re travelling from Bournemouth for an away day, we aim to make parking stress-free for home and away fans . So, before we get into it, familiarise yourself with the location of Anfield using the map below:

So, where are the best Anfield Parking Spots?

If you’re an avid traveller, you may of heard of JustPark . It’s an online car parking booking website, perfect for if you like to be organised before you take the trip to Anfield.

Using their website is simple, you enter where you are travelling to with the time&date and they show the prices of car parking spaces around the surrounding area. I personally love it and I have used it for many years, especially when parking near Anfield.

I’ve personally found that if you book in advance, you can usually find cheaper spots closer to the ground. The majority of the options are on-street spaces, so if you prefer something more secure read on.

📍 Distance to ground: Varies

💵 Average cost: £6.80

Goodison Car Park

If Everton (rivals of Liverpool FC) aren’t playing or are at an away fixture, Goodison Park offer parking for around £10. I’ve personally used this car park once on away day and found no problems with it.

My best piece of advice for this option is to arrive early. Even when I arrived 2-3hours prior to kick-off, the car park was filling up quickly. However, if you’re an organised person and don’t mind having a couple hours to kill at a local pub, then it’s only a 10 minute walk to the ground so it’s one of my favourite options.

NCP Car Park Near Anfield Stadium

If you don’t mind hopping on public transport, parking in Liverpool City Centre is a great option. There are a large variety of NCP car parks, such as Liverpool Smithfield, Liverpool Primrose Hill and Liverpool Moorfields.

Prices vary but you can expect to pay between £10-£15 for matchday. If you do park in the City Centre, there are express shuttle bus services located near Lime Street Station which will take you directly to Anfield.

I also personally love the city of Liverpool, so this is probably my recommended option as you get to check-out everything the city has to offer! Plus, there’s plenty of great pubs en-route to Anfield from the City Centre.

Anfield matchday parking

Priory Road

Located within Stanley Park, there is a large car park on Priory Road. Priced at £8 and a ten minute walk from the stadium, it’s one of the best places to park near Anfield. Once again, it does fill up pretty quickly on matchday so I’d advise you to arrive 2-3 hours before kick off.

Priory Road, L4 2SL

Paddington Village Car Park

This council operated multi-storey car park is located a couple miles away from the stadium. I’ve personally used this car park a couple times, and if you’re looking for somewhere secure, this is the one.

They have car park staff around 24/7 and security cameras. It also has electric charging spaces for those driving on battery! It’s only a few minute walk into the city centre, which you can then catch the express shuttle bus which was mentioned earlier.

You’ll be looking to pay between £6-£10 for matchday parking here.

Elm Grove, Smithdown Ln, Grove St, Liverpool L7 3FA

North Liverpool Academy

Located around a 15 minute walk from the stadium, North Liverpool Academy offers matchday parking for £10. I’ve managed to park here a few times and I’ve never had any problems.

However, it does fill up extremely fast on matchday. The car park opens up 3 hours before kick-off so I’d recommend getting down as early as possible. It also closes 1 hour after full-time.

Unfortunately, you can’t pre-book spaces here, so it really is first-come first-serve.

North Liverpool Academy, 120 Heyworth St, Everton, Liverpool L5 0SQ

Q Park Liverpool ONE

This option is slightly further away from our other parking spots, as it’s located in Liverpool City Centre. However, I still think it’s somewhere to consider, especially if you fancy checking out Liverpool as a city before you head to Anfield.

With over 1900 car parking spaces, this is a popular parking spot for away fans who park here, and then head to the ground by public transport. 4 Hours parking (which should last you for matchday) will set you back £12.50.

Overall, if you fancy a bite to eat before the game in Liverpool City Centre, then parking here is perfect.

Parking Tips for Anfield Stadium

Knowing the correct places to park is one thing, but having extra nuggets of information is the key to a successful and stress-free matchday.

I’ve visited Anfield numerous times over the years, and my best piece of advice is being organised.

Liverpool fans are known for their passion and loyalty to their team. With this comes tens of thousands of fans travelling to Anfield on matchday. So, how can you avoid all the chaotic traffic and secure your parking spot before anyone else?

Through organisation . Arrive to Liverpool early. Whether you head down the night before and stay in a hotel near Anfield or set off at the crack of dawn, arriving at least 2-3 hours before kickoff is essential!

Liverpool is one of my favourite cities, they have a great selection of restaurants and bars , and the buzz on match day is like no other.

The city is also well connected with public transport. So don’t be afraid to park in the City Centre and catch a bus. I’ve done this many times, especially if I’ve not managed to find a spot closer to the ground.

Goodluck with your Anfield Parking!

Unfortunately, due to the large following Liverpool have, Anfield Parking is not easy! But, I hope after reading this guide, you’ll find matchday parking that little bit less stressful so you can focus on the football!

* The number of wheelchair spaces can vary based on a number of factors including stadium requirements, governing bodies and visitors allocations.

Hospitality wheelchair spaces are located in the Main Stand and Sir Kenny Dalglish Stand.

Ambulant and easy access seating is available in several areas at ground level; however ambulant disabled supporters can also request to sit within other areas of the Stadium subject to availability. We ask that supporters consider their needs when purchasing tickets and discourage ambulant disabled supporters with limited mobility from purchasing tickets within the upper tiers at Anfield.

All fans must be able to exit the Stadium quickly in the event of an evacuation.

There is very little parking available near to the Stadium. We strongly advise where possible that attendees utilise public transport to travel to Anfield Stadium and use the bus services provided from Liverpool City Centre. There are a number of City Centre pay and display car parks that operate 24/7. Express shuttle bus services are available from Lime Street Station/St Georges Plateau to the Stadium. Anfield Stadium is approximately a 40-minute walk from the City Centre and routes are clearly signposted to direct attendees to the Stadium safely. You can find a link to car parks here . Please be aware that Anfield Stadium is located in a residential area with a residents parking scheme in operation. Please DO NOT park on residential streets as parking enforcement will be in operation during concerts and major events. Anyillegally parked cars will incur a fine. Accessible Parking
