This is a wonderful and diverse tour on partly hidden paths in the southeast of Thailand. We cross Khao Yai National Park in Thailand’s wine-growing region. We take the ferry to the island of Koh Chang. Then we ride along the Gulf Coast to Jomtien Beach

Day 1 | Arrival in Bangkok The participants occupy their rooms in the 4* Hotel on Sukhumvit Road, in the heart of Bangkok. In the evening we welcome you in this exquisite hotel. You will receive all the information regarding the tour, and learn some interesting details about your host country. Afterwards we will hand over the team jersey to all participants.

Day 2 | 1st Stage: Khao Yai – Vineyard – warm-up round 46 km | wavy | B/L included After enjoying a magnificent breakfast buffet, we leave Bangkok in a comfortable minibus in a north-eastern direction. After approximately 2 hours we will reach Pak Chong, the starting point of our first stage. Pak Chong is regarded as the gateway to the northeast of Thailand (Isaan) and is located at the border of the oldest Thai National Park, Khao Yai. After we have sorted and fitted our bikes, we tour the area on our bikes. We make a stop at a wine-growing estate in PB valley and enjoy the ambiance.

Day 3 | 2nd Stage: Pak Chong – Kabin Buri 102 km | one gradient then wavy | B/L included Today we cross the Khao Yai National Park, established in 1962. The 2,168 km2 park crosses into various provinces including Nakhon Nayok, Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, and Prachinburi. The evergreen foliage of the Park’s forest creates the natural border between the plains of central Thailand and the high plateau of the Isaan. The Khao Yai National Park has been awarded the UNESCO World Culture Heritage Status as a unique nature reserve.

Day 4 | 3rd Stage: Kabin Buri – Aranyaprathet 119 km |  flat | B/L included This morning we headed in the Eastern direction. After 30 km we turn left and follow a nice back road to our destination Aranyaprathet. The city is known for its cross-border trade between Cambodia and Thailand. The Rong Kluea or Salt Warehouse Market with its hundreds of stores is a must-see. We stay at a nice hotel very popular with cyclists especially.

Day 5 | 4th Stage: Aranyaprathet – Soi Dao Golf Course 116 km | wavy | B/L included We cycle along the Cambodian border towards the province of Chanthaburi in the direction of the Gulf of Thailand. This province is one of the most fertile regions of Thailand. Huge tapioca and sugarcane fields cover the landscape. Bizarre limestone formations stick out of the ground. We stay overnight at Soi Dao Highland Golf Club & Resort where you will enjoy a marvelous view of the beautiful mountains of the Kitchakut National Park.

Day 6 | 5th Stage: Soi Dao Golf Course – Koh Chang Island 137 km | wavy with short gradients | B/L included We ride along an impressive dam and then ride quite a distance enjoying the colorful flora and fauna of the region. Gradually, our noses catch the salty fragrance of the nearby Gulf of Thailand. At Laem Ngop we board the ferry to travel to Koh Chang or “elephant island”, named after its shape. Here, we spend the next two nights at a gorgeous beach resort.

Day 7 | Rest day on the dream island B included Spend the day enjoying the white sandy beach and swimming in the warm tropical seas. Koh Chang is Thailand’s 2nd biggest island right after Phuket island but has kept its natural beauty and simplicity. The majority of the island is covered by untouched rainforest.

Day 8 | 6th Stage: Koh Chang – Chanthaburi 105 km | wavy | B/L included We enjoy the fresh morning breeze on the ferry as we cross back to the mainland to start our journey to Chanthaburi, the city of gem dealers. This region is famous for its rich variety of fruits, delicious and sweet.

Day 9 | 7th Stage: Chanthaburi – Rim Pae / Rayong 106 km | flat to wavy | B/L included Today’s stage leads us along the coast through colorful fruit plantations to Rayong’s Novotel Rim Pae Resort. This outstanding Hotel, located directly on the beach fulfills all your dreams. We spend the evening enjoying the relaxed atmosphere by the sea.

Day 10 | 8th Stage: Rim Pae / Rayong – Jomtien Beach 107 km | flat  to wavy | B/L included We ride on the beautiful coastal road to Rayong, with the sea always in our view. We cross the industrial zone of Map Ta Phut, where the roads are in a surprisingly perfect condition for cyclists. Afterward, we ride through the Silverlake vineyard and then on to our 4* hotel at Jomtien Beach, where a refreshing welcome drink will be waiting for you. The resort boasts a huge pool with a private beach. We enjoy the last dinner together in this cozy atmosphere.

Travel Itinerary

Arrival – bangkok.

Guests are greeted by our staff upon arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport in Bangkok. The meeting point is located between exit number 3-4 .

It’s unnecessary to think about your flight delays, as we will always be monitoring your flight arrival time.

After that, it will be our driver’s job to make sure that you arrive safely at your hotel in Bangkok .

• Bangkok City Tour

Bangkok Join-in Excursions (English Speaking Tour Guide):

Our tour guide will pick you up from the lobby and take you to Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace .

Wat Phra Kaew , situated within the Grand Palace’s compound, was constructed in the reign of King Rama I in 1782, to enshrine the Emerald Buddha, a sacred Buddha image which would protect people and the country. The temple is thus known in English as the Emerald Buddha temple.

The Middle Court of the Grand Palace can be entered after visiting Wat Phra Kaew. Here we catch a glimpse of the official residence and a former workplace of the King of Thailand. The present king no longer stays here but still frequently visits the palace, in order to perform many state functions and royal ceremonies, which are held within this part of the Grand Palace.

After that, we will transfer you to a large jewelry store in Bangkok: the Gems Gallery . And you will arrive back at your hotel around noon.

• Ayutthaya Historical Park

In the early morning, our tour guide will transfer you from Bangkok to the former capital of Thailand in Ayutthaya .

Our first destination is the Bang Pa-in Summer Palace , an impressive royal palace with many styles of architecture. The palace was first constructed in the late Ayutthaya period in the 17th century, and has been used to welcome great well-known leaders, including Tsar Nicholas II of Russia, during their state visits.

Then we tour the old kingdom of Ayutthaya, which we will pay homage to the sandstone Buddha head entangled in tree roots at Wat Mahathat , catch a glimpse of a giant bronze Buddha image at Wihan Phramongkhon Bophit , as well as explore the royal temple ruins within the ancient palace compound at Wat Phra Sri Sanphet .

In the afternoon, we head to a local pier in Nonthaburi, and board a river cruise from here to Bangkok. Enjoy lunch onboard the river cruise with the magnificent view of the Chao Phraya River . Arrive at your hotel around 4:30 pm.

Fly from Bangkok to Chiang Mai

Spend the morning in Bangkok before we transfer you to airport for your domestic flight to Chiang Mai.

Since Chiang Mai was founded in the late 13th century by King Mangrai, the city has always been the center of Lanna culture. It represents a perfect blend of modern society and old charm.

When your flight arrives in Chiang Mai , our driver will transfer you to hotel in Chiang Mai. The afternoon period is free at leisure.

• Chiang Mai City Tour

Chiang Mai Join-in Tours (English Speaking Tour Guide):

Our tour guide will pick you up from the lobby in the morning for a visit to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep and Sankampaeng Handicraft Village .

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep , an old Buddhist temple built in the 14th century on top of Mount Suthep, is the most well known and important place in Chiang Mai. The temple is also situated right on the mountain cliff; thus it can be seen from almost anywhere, despite its 15 km distance from the city.

Sankampaeng Road is a home area to several Thai-Lanna handicraft communities . Our staff will introduce you the best-known products in this area, including Borsang’s traditional umbrellas, silverware, and high quality silk products.

After that, we will transfer you back to hotel.

Chiang Mai Cooking Class

Our staff will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. We will transfer you to a renowned cooking school in the city of Chiang Mai.

Apart from visiting a local fresh market in the morning to buy some food ingredients, we will also have an opportunity to learn about special recipes and how to cook Thai food from true local experts .

We will go through the cooking step by step, and learn the secret of how we can make the food tastes better. In the end, you will learn that cooking Thai food isn’t difficult for you at all.

Return to hotel in the late afternoon.

Spend your free time in Chiang Mai at leisure.

JOUR 1 : FRANCE - BANGKOK Envol à destination de Bangkok sur vol régulier. Repas et nuit à bord. JOUR 2 : BANGKOK Arrivée à l'aéroport de Bangkok, récupération de vos bagages et accueil par notre représentant (à la Porte 10). Transfert à votre hôtel et installation (votre chambre sera disponible entre 12 et 15 heures selon les normes internationales, vous pourrez remettre vos effets personnels à la bagagerie de l'hôtel). Repas libres. Nuit à l'hôtel. Bangkok est à la fois une province et la capitale du royaume de Thaïlande comptant 7 millions d'habitants intra-muros, alors que 14 millions de personnes habitent l'aire métropolitaine de la capitale. La ville compte 400 temples bouddhistes somptueux et fascinants, des palais magnifiques, de nombreux centres commerciaux et ravit les visiteurs par le raffinement de ses danses classiques et son mode de vie traditionnel. Rien ne vaut une promenade en bateau le long des canaux intemporels de « la Venise de l'Orient » et du fleuve Chao Phraya, « le Fleuve des Rois » qui traverse la ville, avant de s'aventurer dans les canaux adjacents et d'admirer les anciens quartiers de Bangkok. Le fleuve Chao Phraya divise la ville en deux parties : d'une part, le vieux Bangkok avec ses temples et le palais d'origine, les quartiers indiens et chinois et d'autre part, le Bangkok moderne abritant les quartiers d'affaires et résidentiels et les commerces. Bangkok est ainsi une ville moderne et dynamique, surplombée par de nombreux gratte-ciels mais qui cache une indéniable identité thaïlandaise ! La ville a connu une formidable croissance à partir des années 1960 et exerce aujourd'hui un impact significatif sur la vie politique, économique, culturelle, sur l'éducation et sur les médias thaïlandais. Peu de villes dans le monde enflamment l'imagination avec des images exotiques comme Bangkok. JOUR 3 : BANGKOK - DAMNOEN SADUAK - LE PALAIS ROYAL Petit-déjeuner. Départ très tôt le matin pour la visite du marché flottant de Damnoen Saduak, où vous découvrirez les canaux au milieu de barques aux activités multiples. Temps libre pour les achats. Continuation sur Nakhon Pathom et son chédi (127 mètres de haut). Retour à Bangkok. Déjeuner typique en ville. Visite du magnifique Palais Royal. Le Grand Palais Royal est un des monuments les plus beaux de la cour siamoise de l'Antiquité. Il a été la résidence de tous les Rois de Bangkok. Vous y verrez le Palais d'Obsèques, le Palais de Réception, le Hall du Trône, le Hall de Couronnement et la Maison d'Invité Royal et Wat Phra Keo qui abrite l'extraordinaire Bouddha d'émeraude. Dîner-spectacle de danses thaïlandaises. Savourez la spécialité de Bœuf Massaman, un plat traditionnel de bœuf au curry rouge. Ce curry du sud de la Thaïlande est l'un des plus doux et parfumé des currys thaïs, un vrai régal pour le palet ! Petit tour dans Bangkok « by night » pour découvrir le Quartier Chinois avec ses ruelles étroites et ses allées bordées de magasins aux enseignes lumineuses et lanternes en papier offrant un spectacle nocturne unique. Promenade dans plus grand Marché aux fleurs de Thaïlande où l'effervescence règne tous les soirs. N'hésitez pas, pour quelques centimes, à prendre un collier d'œillets jaunes pour faire une offrande au prochain temple ou acheter des graines que vous pourrez planter chez vous. Retour à votre hôtel. Nuit à l'hôtel. JOUR 4 : BANGKOK - AYUTTHAYA - PHITSANULOK Petit-déjeuner. Départ pour Ayutthaya, ancienne capitale du Royaume du Siam. La ville fut fondée en 1350 par Ramathibodi Ier et devint la capitale de son royaume. Ses ruines ont été constituées en parc historique et la ville nouvelle fut reconstruite quelques kilomètres plus loin vers l'Est. Ce parc archéologique, classé au Patrimoine de l'UNESCO, présente un ensemble de vestiges caractérisé par ses prangs (tours reliquaires) et ses monastères bouddhistes aux proportions gigantesques qui donnent une idée de la grandeur de l'ancienne capitale et de la splendeur de son architecture. Déjeuner de spécialités (Beignets de bananes ou de citrouilles) dans un très joli restaurant local agrémenté d'un bassin. Continuation par la route vers Phitsanuloke, en passant par Chainat. En cours de route et visite du Temple de Cristal, Wat Tha Sung. Ce petit temple, longtemps oublié sur les berges de Sakae Krang, a connu un véritable essor sous l'influence du moine Luang Pho Ruesi Ling Dam. Aujourd'hui, ce complexe à l'architecture unique compte de nombreux bâtiments dont un grand parc de méditation bordé d'un mur d'enceinte de centaines de statues de bouddhas, le Prasat Thong Kham surnommé « la pyramide doré » et sa célèbre chapelle de verre Viharn Kaeow. Dîner et nuit à Phitsanulok. JOUR 5 : PHITSANULOK - SUKHOTHAÏ - CHIANG RAI Petit-déjeuner. Départ par la route pour Sukhothaï, la première capitale du Siam fondée en 1238 et mettant fin au règne khmer d'Angkor Wat. Sukhothaï a été inscrite en 1991 au patrimoine mondial de l'humanité. Elle est plus célèbre pour son art que pour ses réalisations politiques. Visite du parc historique et de ses superbes temples. Déjeuner de spécialités de légumes frits thaïlandais. Départ pour Chiang Rai via Lampang. Arrêt et visite d'une plantation d'ananas (selon la saison et la récolte). Chiang Rai, « la Ville des Rois », est une petite ville qui abrite une population de 65 000 personnes. La ville fut fondée par le Roi Mengrai en 1262 et devint la première capitale du royaume de Lannathai, mais perdit peu après ce statut au profit de Chiang Mai. En 1432, le Bouddha d'Émeraude, la plus importante représentation de Bouddha vénérée en Thaïlande, fut découverte à Chiang Rai puis transportée à Bangkok dans le Palais Royal. Dîner et nuit à Chiang Rai à l'hôtel. JOUR 6 : CHIANG RAI – LE TRIANGLE D'OR - CHIANG MAI Petit-déjeuner. Visite de la célèbre région du Triangle d'Or mince langue de terre aux confins des trois frontières thaïlandaise, laotienne et birmane. Départ à la rencontre du « peuple des collines » vivant sur les hauteurs arborés du Nord de la Thaïlande. Le matin, profitez d'un moment d'échange et de partage avec les tribus Akha et Yao. Ces peuples représentent aujourd'hui des minorités ethniques qui vivent principalement de l'agriculture (pavot, riz mais aussi divers légumes comme le piment et le soja) et de l'artisanat (tissus, broderies). Déjeuner de spécialités de riz sauté aux ananas. Promenade en pirogue sur la rivière Mae Kok. Rencontre des tribus Karen. Ce peuple établi en Thaïlande depuis l'empire Mon-Khmer, représente aujourd'hui la plus grande tribu du nord. Les Karens ont su préserver leurs croyances et rites ancestraux et sont réputés pour leur attachement particulier à la préservation de leur environnement. Visite du temple de Wat Rong Khun, connu sous le nom de Temple Blanc. D'une blancheur extraordinaire pour symboliser la pureté du bouddhisme et incrusté de petits morceaux de miroir pour amener la réflexion de l'illumination, cet ensemble de neuf bâtiments est à la fois un temple et une véritable œuvre d'art. Départ pour Chiang Mai. Dîner et nuit à l'hôtel.
