Guns N' Roses and Kiss are expected to postpone their Australian tours due to the Covid-19 outbreak spreading through Sydney.

Promoters for the American rock icons are clambering to save the tours that were initially lined up for November, according to The Herald Sun .

The bands are currently scheduled to play throughout the U.S. this year before travelling Down Under - but the Delta strain outbreak will probably put a stop to this.

'I’m moving the Kiss tour dates. I have to,' said Kiss's longtime Australian promoter Andrew McManus. 'Within the current [Covid] guidelines the government is purporting, most shows and tours will move back to 2022.'

'There is no way you can run a tour properly at the moment,' he continued.

Guns N' Roses are also potentially looking at a 2022 tour, but promoter  Paul Dainty said no firm decision had been made at this stage.

Many promoters feel the Australian tour calendar for international artists has been intentionally paused and is outside their control this year.

Michael Chugg, a career promoter, clarified this this feeling by saying Australian authorities 'won't let international bands in until next year'.

'Every week we’re having to cancel and move tours, and it’s been going on for months. It’s a crazy mess,' he said.

There has also been frustration from promoters over sports games and other events going ahead, while live music misses out.

A tour plan was originally put in place for Kiss and Guns N' Roses, where the two megastar rock groups would have a tour bubble and spend 14 days in quarantine when they arrived in Australia.

Guns N’ Roses Reschedule Australian Stadium Tour to 2022

Originally set to be one of the first large-scale concerts of the covid era, guns n’ roses have moved their forthcoming australian visit to late 2022., tyler jenke, tyler jenke's most recent stories.

UPDATE 27/09/21: Over a month out from the original start date of their 2021 tour, Guns N’ Roses have announced their upcoming Australian visit will now take place in November and December of 2022. Full updated dates are available below.

“Australia, we can’t wait to see you bigger and better next Summer,” the group said in an accompanying announcement, which arrived just days after the release of their second single of 2021, “Hard Skool”.

“We worked for months with the various state governments trying to create a safe environment so that the Guns N’ Roses tour could proceed this year,” added Paul Dainty AM, President & CEO of TEG DAINTY. “Despite our best efforts it recently became clear that we could not proceed in 2021 and it has taken time to finalise a plan where we could be confident of completing a national tour of Australia next year.

“This will be the biggest stadium rock tour of Summer 2022 with hundreds of people on the road, a massive production and logistics involved.”

All previously-purchased tickets remain valid for the new dates, while new tickets are also on sale now.

More than eight months on from their last public concert, and almost four years since their last tour of the country, rock icons Guns N’ Roses have announced that they’ll be heading back to Australia next year.

One of the first major concert announcements during the COVID era, Guns N’ Roses have revealed they will be appearing at Australian stadiums in November of 2021, with large-scale shows taking place in the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth.

“Announcing an international tour of this magnitude as we come out of the most challenging year in the history of live entertainment is truly gratifying,” promoter Paul Dainty said in a statement.

“We’re all eager to return to business as usual and who better to lead the charge into international stadium touring than the mighty Guns N’ Roses! Witnessing the classic line-up of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, reunited, on Australian stages during this historic band’s previous ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour was an unforgettable experience for fans and the reviews were unanimously glowing.

“In 2021 Australians can look forward to the return of large-scale stadium events such as this and, let’s face it, Guns N’ Roses deliver every single time.”

Of course, the tour promoters do point out that the tour will be committed to providing a COVID Safe environment, and will be working with public health authorities to ensure the safety of patrons at these forthcoming shows.

Guns N’ Roses last performed in Australia for a series of shows back in early 2017 as part of their ‘Not in This Lifetime’ Tour. Named for the words reportedly spoken by Axl Rose in regards to whether the band’s  Use Your Illusion -era lineup would ever perform together again, the tour ended up becoming the second highest-grossing tour of all time, with over $584,200,000 USD being raised across 158 shows.

Selling over 350,000 tickets during their last local tour, guitarist Slash promised fans that Guns N’ Roses would return to Australia once again, though no details were specified at the time. Since the tour, the band have been rumoured to be recording a new album , with Slash confirming that new material was being written during a 2019 interview.

Guns N’ Roses have announced they’ll play eight shows in Australia and New Zealand next year.

Announcing the news on social media, the band proclaimed, “Stadium rock is back!”, before going on to list the shows, which kick off in Australia’s Gold Coast on November 6 before climaxing in Perth on November 24. A pair of New Zealand shows in Wellington and Dunedin have been squeezed into the schedule. Full dates below.

Currently it’s uncertain when either country will fully reopen its borders, but tour promotor Paul Dainty is positive.

“We’re not doing this lightly,” he says. “There was a lot of consideration before we pulled the trigger. I’ve been doing this a long time. We wouldn’t be proceeding if we weren’t 100 per cent confident. There’s a lot of good news around with the vaccine and the like and we wanted to be optimistic and on the front foot.”

“It sends a message globally that New Zealand and Australia have done an incredible job in managing the pandemic.”

Dainty added, “It’s great for the fans, great for the stadiums. [Lots of] companies feed off this industry. I think there’ll be a lot of excitement. Stadium rock is back.”

Guns N’ Roses cancelled their European tour in May – the dates are now scheduled for June 2021 – and rescheduled their 2020 North American tour dates until Summer next year.

Tickets for the Australian and NZ dates go on sale on November 23, with a pre-sale for Nightrain members starting November 23.

On Thursday (Nov. 19), Guns N’ Roses announced an eight-date tour of Australasia, kicking off Nov. 6 at Metricon Stadium on the Gold Coast.

Presented by TEG Dainty, a division of the TEG Group, the trek then moves on to Adelaide Oval, Melbourne Cricket Ground, Sydney’s ANZ Stadium and Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium.

The production then heads east for two dates in New Zealand, at Sky Stadium in Wellington, and Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin, then returns to Australia for a final, Nov. 24 concert at Perth’s Optus Stadium.

The stadium tour announcement is the first of its kind since the COVID-19 pandemic grounded flights and closed borders in March.

“Announcing an international tour of this magnitude as we come out of the most challenging year in the history of live entertainment is truly gratifying,” comments Paul Dainty, president & CEO of TEG Dainty.

“We’re all eager to return to business as usual,” he continues, “and who better to lead the charge into international stadium touring than the mighty Guns N’ Roses.”

The classic line-up of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will make the long haul, as they did for the Not In This Lifetime stadium tour of these parts in 2017.

General tickets are available from Thursday, Nov. 26 .

The GNR jaunt is organized by the team behind the Greatest Southern Nights shows, scheduled to take place later this month and early December at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena, and featuring an all-Australian lineup.

Speaking to Billboard ahead of the announcement, Geoff Jones, CEO of TEG, parent company of Ticketek, TEG Dainty and Qudos Bank Arena, says Australia, with its solid COVIDSafe protocols and low rates of confirmed infections, was in the box seat to restart the touring economy.

“Because of the way government and federal and state level have approached the pandemic, we should be in a position to lead the world,” Jones explains. The next step, is how to get international acts into the market. “We’ll certainly put a few international acts on sale in the next little while, for late next year,” he notes, with Guns N’ Roses the first major announcement. “We definitely need to be giving the indication that this industry is not lying down.”

Guns N’ Roses have announced that they’ll be returning to Australia to play six huge stadium shows in November 2021.

The rockers will kick off their tour on the Gold Coast before heading to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane then will wrap up in Perth.

It’s the first Australian stadium tour announcement since the coronavirus pandemic forced the cancellation of most concerts and major events.

“We’re all eager to return to business as usual and who better to lead the charge into international stadium touring than the mighty Guns N’ Roses,” tour promoter TEG Dainty said in a statement.

“Now that COVID-related restrictions are easing, Australians can look forward to the return of large-scale stadium events such as this and, let’s face it, Guns N’ Roses deliver every single time.”

Guns N' Roses are returning to Australia in 2021 for a huge string of stadium shows.

“GNR’s 2021 Australian tour is the light at the end of the bleak tunnel we’ve all negotiated this year.”

“All aboard the Nightrain to Paradise City for what promises to be a heaving celebration of the unbreakable human spirit.”

The classic line-up of founding members Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan will all be sharing the stage for the six Australians shows.

The promoter says the tour “will be held with a commitment to a COVID Safe environment” and will likely be at a reduced capacity.

“We will comply with all requirements of the public health authorities in respect of these shows.”

Guns N' Roses Have Announced a 2021 Stadium Tour of Australia and New Zealand

UPDATE Monday, September 27: Guns N' Roses Australian and New Zealand tour has been postponed to November and December 2022. You can find all the details at the Guns N' Roses website .

"Stadium rock is back!" pronounces the tour poster for the newly announced Guns N' Roses tour of Australia and New Zealand. The tour, scheduled for November 2021, is the first international stadium tour announcement since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The eight-stop tour will hit Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Adelaide and Perth, as well as Wellington and Dunedin, between Saturday, November 6, 2021 and Wednesday, November 24, 2021.

The idea of stadium shows doesn't feel too far fetched after the latest State of Origin match was played in front of a full crowd following the rolling back of event restrictions in Queensland . New Zealand stadiums are also back to full capacity and Sydney is hosting a pair COVID-safe stadium gigs on Saturday, November 28 and Saturday, December 5. The biggest challenge to the tour going ahead will be Australian borders, which remain shut with no clear indication of when they may reopen.

It's been a while between drinks for Guns N' Roses fans, with the rock band last touring Australia in 2017 on the Not in This Lifetime tour, the first tour to see founding members Axel Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan all take the stage together in over a decade. Following the tour, the band left fans hanging with Slash tweeting that the band would be back Down Under soon. Three years on and fans are waiting for a November Rain singalong in a packed stadium.

Guns N' Roses announce 2021 Australia and New Zealand tour dates

Guns N' Roses will head to Australia and New Zealand for eight shows next November

Guns N' Roses onstage

Guns N' Roses have announced they'll play eight shows in Australia and New Zealand next year.

Announcing the news on social media, the band proclaimed, "Stadium rock is back!", before going on to list the shows, which kick off in Australia's Gold Coast on November 6 before climaxing in Perth on November 24. A pair of New Zealand shows in Wellington and Dunedin have been squeezed into the schedule. Full dates below.

Currently it's uncertain when either country will fully reopen its borders, but tour promotor Paul Dainty is positive.

"We’re not doing this lightly,” he says. “There was a lot of consideration before we pulled the trigger. I’ve been doing this a long time. We wouldn’t be proceeding if we weren’t 100 per cent confident. There’s a lot of good news around with the vaccine and the like and we wanted to be optimistic and on the front foot."

"It sends a message globally that New Zealand and Australia have done an incredible job in managing the pandemic."

Dainty added, “It’s great for the fans, great for the stadiums. [Lots of] companies feed off this industry. I think there’ll be a lot of excitement. Stadium rock is back."

Guns N' Roses cancelled their European tour in May – the dates are now scheduled for June 2021 – and rescheduled their 2020 North American tour dates until Summer  next year.

Guns N’ Roses announce 2021 Australian Tour

guns and roses australian tour 2021 cancelled

Guns N’ Roses made our collective rock’n’roll dreams come true with 2017’s Not In This Lifetime tour, and Ticketek are excited to share that TEG DAINTY have announced one of the greatest bands of all time will return to Australia in NOVEMBER 2021.

Guns N’ Roses are the first to announce a stadium tour since the advent of COVID-19 hit and border closures paused the entertainment industry. It’s fair to say our appetite for live music is climbing, and in Guns N’ Roses we trust!

More than 75,000 fans rocked-out at the MCG during GNR’s blistering 2.5-hour set in 2017, with Triple M reporting, “The band was on fire, pumping on all cylinders.”

And the rave reviews kept pouring in, with News.com.au extolling, “Guns N’ Roses turned the dial up to 11 and jolted an exuberant crowd with a hard rock tour de force.”

Courier Mail were also suitably wowed: “This was an act at the top of its game: there was not a musical misfire to be heard and the tight, high-energy production would have been the envy of musicians half their age.”

Guns N’ Roses’s 2021 Australian tour is the light at the end of the bleak tunnel we’ve all negotiated this year. All aboard the Nightrain to Paradise City for what promises to be a heaving celebration of the unbreakable human spirit!

Here we go!!!!!

This is happening: Guns N’ Roses have announced a mammoth run of Australian stadium shows for November 2021.

Following the band’s blockbuster  Not In This Lifetime  tour of 2017, TEG Dainty are bringing the Lords of the Sunset Strip out of hibernation for a huge leg of shows, trekking to Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth for six massive events.

TEG Dainty CEO Paul Dainty reflected on today’s announcement in a statement, saying that, “Announcing an international tour of this magnitude as we come out of the most challenging year in the history of live entertainment is truly gratifying.

We’re all eager to return to business as usual and who better to lead the charge into international stadium touring than the mighty Guns N’ Roses! Witnessing the classic line-up of Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan, reunited, on Australian stages during this historic band’s previous Not In This Lifetime tour was an unforgettable experience for fans and the reviews were unanimously glowing.

In 2021 Australians can look forward to the return of large-scale stadium events such as this and, let’s face it, Guns N’ Roses deliver every single time.”

Fingers crossed we can keep those case numbers down. Check out all the dates and details below – tickets go on sale next Thursday November 26 at 9am.

Where the Grass Is Green & the Venues Are Open — Guns N’ Roses Plans a 2021 Tour In Reopened Australia & New Zealand

Guns N' Roses Australia

While lockdowns continue in Europe, America, and elsewhere, Guns N’ Roses has announced a 2021 tour in reopening Australia and New Zealand.

The group is heading down under for a massive international tour, hitting the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, and Perth. Promoter TEG Dainty, which organized the Guns N’ Roses Australia & New Zealand tour, says it’s ready to bring the group back to Oz. CEO Paul Dainty reflected on the announcement and the challenges the live entertainment company faces in planning such an event.

“We’re all eager to return to business as usual, and who better to lead the charge into international stadium touring than the mighty Guns N’ Roses! Witnessing the classic line-up of Axl Rose, Slash, and Duff McKagan reunited on Australian stages during the historic band’s previous Not In This Lifetime tour was an unforgettable experience for fans,” Dainty says.

“In 2021, Australians can look forward to the return of large-scale stadium events such as this. Let’s face it; Guns N’ Roses deliver every single time,” he adds. General tickets will be available for sale starting November 26th.

TEG says it is following COVID-safe protocols established by the Australian government. Organizers believe Australia may lead the world in reopening large-scale stadium events, with mega-events already taking place. A huge 52,000 in-person football game in  Queensland  over the weekend was the first reopening event.

But that only involved local Australians coming together to watch Australians play soccer. What about international acts like Guns N’ Roses? That remains a tricky question, though Guns N’ Roses will offer a critical test for future acts.

Meanwhile, the live music industry has struggled across the globe with the nagging pandemic. Recording artists in the UK, for example, are fighting for their survival while local venues are keeping the lights on with government support.

Recovery in the US has been marred by continued outbreaks and record-breaking new cases each day. Some of those early scheduled 2021 events may end up being canceled, too. It’s a wait-and-see approach, but so far, things aren’t looking good unless a vaccine arrives soonish.
