K.I.Z. (formed in 2000) is a German alternative hip-hop group often described as horror rap, who have become well-known for their critical social commentary and high charting albums – hailing from Berlin, Germany.

Born out of the rich and vibrant Berlin rap scene, K.I.Z. is comprised of rappers Tarek Ébéne, Maxim Drüner, and Nicolas Seyfried, as well as DJ Craft. Born in Freiburg im Breisgau, Tarek moved to the Mediterranean coast of Spain with his family in his childhood years before moving back to Berlin where he met rapper Maxim. The group’s moniker, “K.I.Z”, has long provided ample amusement for the band’s members who have promoted various meaning for the acronym including “Cannibals in plain clothes”, “Crusaders in central asia”, and “Monastic novices in celibacy”.

The group released their debut, full-length album “Das Rap Deutschland Kettensägen Massaker” in 2005. A subsequent mixtape “Böhse Enkelz”, further raised the profile of the band, however It wasn’t until their sophomore release, “Hahnenkampt” (2007), that the group began to make inroads into the mainstream. Rising to No. 9 on the German Albums Chart, “Hehnenkampf” earned a string of positive reviews aided by the singles “Ellenbogengesellschaft”, “Geld essen (Ausgestopfte Rapper)”, and “Spasst”. In 2008 the band collaborated with Bela B. of Die Ärzte on the single “Hölle” before issuing their third studio album “Seximus gene Rechts”. Peaking at No. 7 on the German Albums Chart, the record was their most successful to date, led by the single “Das System (die kleinen Dinge)”.

Following the release of the No. 4 charting album “Urlaub fürs Gehirn” in 2011, K.I.Z. released the mixtape “Ganz Oben” in 2013, which peaked at No. 91 on the Albums chart. Two years later, proving their greatest success to date, the group released the studio album “Hurra die Welt geht unter”, which shot to No. 1 on the German Albums Chart. Also finding the top spot in Switzerland and charting at No. 4 in Austria, the album spawned the popular singles “Boom Boom Boom” and “Hurra die Welt get unter” featuring Henning May.

Live reviews

K.I.Z. is a German group that was formed in the year 2000 in Berlin, Germany. The founding members of the group are German rappers Tarek, Nico, and Maxim and DJ Craft. They have released four studio albums and counting since their creation.

I had the chance to watch them perform live at Splash! in the year 2011. They performed at an indoor venue but there was a lot of room for a very large audience and the audience still packed the building. That just shows the popularity of the band! They didn't use props. They did use a few visuals that consisted on light shining on the group as they performed and they also used a lot of smoke that was blowing up behind them.

The group seemed very passionate throughout their performance as they were constantly moving and dancing. This passion was passed to the crowd as the band began interacting with the audience throughout the performance. These interactions made for quite an amazing experience! The lyrics and beat by the rappers and DJ were just amazing.

I would recommend this group to anyone who just wants to dance! You will certainly have a fantastic time if you ever go to one of their performances!

Report as inappropriate

They delivered a fantastic show! A lot of epic moments, surprises and jokes. It was the best performance Iv'e seen so far and I would really recomend going. They always kept the fans hyped, so the audience participated in the show and made it even better. The band before K.I.Z. also delivered and got blood pumping for the great concert. 10/10 would go again!!

Weezer Concert Setlist Info

Celebrating three decades of the Blue Album , Weezer have been delivering setlists in 2024 that fans likely thought were only in dreams. The long-standing lineup of Rivers Cuomo, Pat Wilson, Brian Bell and Scott Shriner kicked off the year with a “ Blue Album in Full” performance in March, which gave a clear preview of what lies ahead on the Voyage To The Blue Planet Tour, aside from a slight tracklist mix-up that Cuomo credited to himself.

In April, the band played a small Los Angeles show filled with non- Blue rarities like “Dope Nose,” “The Angel and the One” and “Eulogy for a Rock Band.” The performance closed with a cover of Hole’s “Celebrity Skin,” which remained on the Weezer setlist through their early summer U.K. and Ireland tour with The Smashing Pumpkins . Elsewhere, the band shared the stage with outspoken Weezer fans Dominic Fike and Joyce Manor guitarist Barry Johnson.

Below, find an average 2024 Weezer setlist and check back for updates once the Voyage To The Blue Planet Tour blasts off in September.

Twenty One Pilots setlist 2024: Every Clancy Tour song they did in Phoenix

Portrait of Ed Masley

Twenty One Pilots  brought the Clancy World Tour to Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix on Friday, Aug. 30, treating fans to a set that found the alt-rock duo leaning heavily on songs from “Clancy,” their new album.

Clancy is a character they introduced on “Trench” in 2018. This is said to be the “final chapter” in a narrative they started on 2015’s “Blurryface,” the chart-topping breakthrough that sent two singles to the Top 5 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Stressed Out” and “Ride.”

Those crowd-pleasing classics were two of five songs in the set from “Blurryface.” And they played six songs from the album that preceded it, “Vessel" (or seven if you're counting bonus tracks).

“Clancy” got the most love with 11 songs, including all four singles, “Overcompensate,” “Next Semester,” “Backslide” and “The Craving.”

Twenty One Pilots Clancy Tour: Phoenix concert was as magical as ever

Portrait of Ed Masley

By the time they played their first arena show in Phoenix in support of “Blurryface,” their breakthrough album, Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun of Twenty One Pilots were already playing to the back rows of the biggest rooms they’d ever faced with awe-inspiring magic tricks and an intensely physical performance while leading their fans in one spirited singalong after another.

Eight years later, Twenty One Pilots remain one of the more compelling live acts you could ever hope to see.

And they’ve got three more albums' worth of singalongs to work into the setlist as they tour the world in support of “Clancy,” a seventh album said to be the “final chapter” in the narrative they launched on “Blurryface.”

Twenty One Pilots setlist 2024: Every Clancy Tour song they did in Phoenix

Part of the magic of Twenty One Pilots in concert is actual magic

The stage show, like the setlist, featured many of Twenty One Pilots' greatest hits.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

Dun stepped out from behind the drums to do a backflip off Joseph’s piano. Joseph later ran at that same upright, leaping in the air and springing, cat-like, off the top of it.

He also balanced on the outstretched hands of fans down front like Iggy Pop on “Holding on to You,” a trick Dun later topped by drumming on a tiny platform being held aloft by fans.

On “Car Radio,” Joseph appeared to be playing his upright while wearing his signature ski mask. Until a spotlight came to focus on a figure in the upper level, who removed his ski mask to reveal that he, in fact, was Joseph, a bit of magic that remains as magical as it felt in 2016, the first time I saw it.

Dun did his own magic trick during “Mulberry Street.” One second, he was onstage drumming in his ski mask. The next, he was holding a torch at the opposite end of the arena, removing his mask to show that it was really him.

That trick never gets old. And I would know. I've seen them do it several times.

Tyler Joseph had fun with a technical glitch and brought a kid up to sing

There was a funny unplanned moment midway through when they made their way to two much smaller satellite stages in the audience and Joseph’s stage began to rise on a hydraulic lift while Dun’s stage stayed where it was.

“So I just want to clarify something before I move forward,” a laughing Joseph told the crowd.

“I understand that I am the lead singer. But, as you have noticed, one of our stages is taller than the other. That was not my intention. Apparently, his lift isn’t working.”

As he was singing “Ride,” one of their biggest singles, Joseph told the crowd, “I’d like to invite one of the members of a newer generation of Twenty One Pilots fans to come on up.”

And with that, he brought a little kid name Liam up to join him on the chorus hook.

It was beyond adorable.

Twenty One Pilots ended with a bang on the spectacle of 'Trees'

The encore came to a spectacular conclusion with Joseph instructing fans to clear out a large circle in the middle of the pit, making room for two miniature stages, one holding Joseph’s piano and mic, the other holding Dun’s drums.

Once they’d taken their places on those stages, they allowed the fans to crowd around them as they brought the concert to a close with a truly transcendent rendition of “Trees” that ended in audience members holding floor toms in the air for them to pound on, which they did, but only after pouring water on the drum heads.

That way, the drum heads would splash when they hit them, which they did to brilliant effect as confetti rained down on the crowd.

It was a joy to witness, between the performance itself and the energy in the room.

There's more than showmanship to a Twenty One Pilots concert

That sense of showmanship has always served them well and elevated what they do.

But the intensity of the emotional connection they’ve established with their fans goes well beyond those entertaining moments.

It’s the power of the songs themselves that had those concertgoers belting out the lyrics from the time they hit the stage with “Overcompensate,” the hip-hop-flavored track that opens “Clancy,” to the chorus of “Stressed Out,” the breakthrough that remains their biggest hit.

"Wish we could turn back time to the good old days,” Joseph sang, “when our mama sang us to sleep / But now we're stressed out."

Even Dun joined in on that one. And how could anybody not?

Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun commanded the stage like naturals

Twenty One Pilots' music is a seamless blend of hip-hop, alt-rock, EDM and reggae with piano-driven pop.

Joseph is a natural entertainer, whether speed-rapping the words to “Heavydirtysoul” at full intensity or making the most of the bittersweet chorus of “Stressed Out” with the vulnerability he brought to the occasion.

He’s a multi-instrumentalist, playing all manner of keyboards, from synth to piano, even strapping on a keytar, when he wasn’t strumming on a ukulele or powering through a heavy bass riff.

Much of what we heard was being piped in to flesh out the sound of what Joseph and Dun, who also played keyboards when he wasn’t attacking his drums with a physicality that can’t be overstated, were doing on stage.

But you don’t need to see the music being made to feel it. And anyone who didn’t feel what they were doing wasn’t listening while also missing out on one of the 21st century's best arena shows.

History of taganrog.

In the 7th-6th centuries B.C., according to archaeological research, there was a Greek settlement on the territory of present Taganrog. Today, there are no remains of this settlement. It was founded in the second half of the 7th century B.C. and destroyed in the second half of the 6th century B.C., probably by nomadic Scythians.

Taganrog was first mentioned in written sources in 1698. It was founded after the capture of Azov by Peter’s I order as a fortress and harbor for the Russian Navy. Taganrog became the first Russian naval base and seaport on the open coast. It was also the first Russian town built on a regular plan.

The fortress was originally called Troyetsk, then Troitsk and finally Taganrog. Peter I even intended to transfer the capital of the country to Taganrog. But Russia lost the war against Turkey and it determined the fate of the town.

More Historical Facts…

Under the terms of the peace treaty, Russia was to destroy the harbor and the town itself. By February 1712, these works were completed. In 1769, during another Russian-Turkish war, the restoration of Taganrog began by Catherine’s the Great order.

Taganrog lost its military importance after the founding of Sevastopol in 1783. The town turned into the largest trade port in the Russian Empire.

In 1820, A.S.Pushkin stayed in Taganrog during his trip to the Caucasus. He spent the night in the house of P.A.Papkov, the mayor of the town. In 1825, the Emperor Alexander I died in this house (corner of Grecheskaya Street, 40 and Dvortsovy (Nekrasovsky) Avenue). Later, the memorial museum of the Emperor Alexander I was opened in the house.

In May 1855, during the Crimean War of 1853-1856, the English-French squadron entered the Sea of Azov, trying to deprive the Russian army in the Crimea its rear bases. The squadron bombarded Taganrog and tried to make a landing. The gunboat “Jasper” was destroyed by Cossacks during the landing operation near Taganrog. In August, the squadron stopped unsuccessful attempts and left the Sea of Azov.

Fertile agricultural regions located close to the town contributed to its development. Taganrog became an important center for the wheat and flax trade. In 1869, the railroad connected the town with Kharkov and Rostov-on-Don.

In the 19th century, Taganrog continued to be a major center of trade. Today, there are several houses of Italian and Greek merchants that retained since that time. At the end of the 19th century, the local industry began to develop quickly; metallurgical, boiler and machine-building plants were constructed. In 1908, the first power station was built.

In 1918-1920, during the Russian Civil War, the General Headquarters of Denikin (the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian South) was located in Taganrog. Since 1937, the city is part of the Rostov region. Taganrog was occupied by the Germans for almost two years during World War II. After the war, the local economy recovered rapidly.

Administrative and municipal status

Higher education, architecture, taganrog in literature, notable people, twin towns – sister cities, external links.

The history of the city goes back to the late Bronze Age –early Iron Age . Later, it became the earliest Greek settlement in the northwestern Black Sea region and was probably mentioned by the Greek historian Herodotus as emporion Kremnoi (Κρήμνοι, meaning cliffs). [16] It had contacts as well to the other Greek colonies around the Black Sea as well as to the indigenous communitys of the hinterland. [17]

In the 13th century, Pisan merchants founded a colony, Portus Pisanus, which was however short-lived. [18] Taganrog was founded by Peter the Great on 12 September 1698. [3] The first Russian Navy base, it hosted the Azov Flotilla of Catherine the Great (1770–1783), which subsequently became the Russian Black Sea Fleet . Taganrog was granted city status in 1775. [4]

By the end of the 18th century, Taganrog had lost its importance as a military base after Crimea and the entire Sea of Azov were absorbed into the Russian Empire . In 1802, Tsar Alexander   I granted the city special status , which lasted until 1887. In 1825, the Alexander I Palace in Taganrog was used as his summer residence, and he died there in November 1825. Also in Taganrog is the House of Teacher , a mansion where numerous artists have performed.

Although it had been bombarded and damaged by an Anglo-French fleet in 1855, [18] Taganrog became important as a commercial port, used for the import of grain by the end of the 19th century until the early 20th century. Industrialization increased in the city when Belgian and German investors founded a boiler factory, an iron and steel foundry , a leather factory, and an oil press factory. By 1911, fifteen foreign consulates had opened in the city. [19]

During World War I , Taganrog served as the temporary capital of the Ukrainian Soviet Republic in March-April 1918. [20] Afterwards it was occupied by the troops of the German Army from May to August 1918. In 1919, General Anton Denikin established his headquarters at the Avgerino mansion in the city while commanding White Russian troops fighting in South Russia during the Russian Civil War . When the White Russians were defeated and Bolshevik power was established in the city on 25 December 1919, Denikin's remaining troops and the British Consulate were evacuated by HMS Montrose . Full power was granted to the executive committee of The City Soviet Workers' council on 17 December 1920, and Taganrog joined the Ukrainian SSR as the administrative center of Taganrog Okrug. It was transferred to the Russian SFSR along with Shakhty Okrug on 1 October 1924.

During World War II , Taganrog was occupied by Nazi Germany from 1941 to 1943 during Operation Barbarossa , when two SS divisions entered the city on 17 October 1941, followed by the Wehrmacht . The city suffered extensive damage. Under German occupation the local government system was replaced by a German-style Bürgermeisteramt (Mayor's Office), which governed the city until it was liberated by the Red Army on 30 August 1943. [ citation needed ]

Within the framework of administrative divisions , it is incorporated as Taganrog Urban Okrug —an administrative unit with the status equal to that of the districts . [1] As a municipal division , this administrative unit also has urban okrug status. [10]

Taganrog is the leading industrial center of Rostov Oblast. Local industry is represented by aerospace, machine-building, automobile, military, iron and steel industry, engineering, metal traders and processors, timber, woodwork, pulp and paper, food, light, chemical and construction materials. The city is one of the major ports of the Sea of Azov .

The biggest company currently operating in Taganrog is Taganrog Iron & Steel Factory , (publicly traded company Tagmet), which manufactures steel, steel pipe, for oil and gas industry and consumer goods. The other major employer is Taganrog Auto Factory ( TagAZ Ltd. ), which originated from Taganrog Combine Harvester Factory. The plant manufactures automobiles licensed by Hyundai. The production line includes Hyundai Accent compact sedan, mid-size Hyundai Sonata, sport utility vehicle Santa Fe, and Hyundai Porter pickup truck. Taganrog is also home to the aircraft design bureau Beriev .

The area around Taganrog has a large industrial potential, a diversified agricultural industry, production plants, and a modern infrastructure. The location of Taganrog on the intersection of traffic routes and the seaport facilitate access to the emerging CIS markets.

Taganrog's main trading partners are the CIS countries, South Korea , Turkey , Italy , Greece , and Egypt .

Anton Chekhov featured the city and its people in many of his works, including Ionych , The House with an Attic , The Man in a Shell , Van'ka , Three Years , Mask , and My Life . It is believed that Taganrog may have been the Lukomorye (fairy tale land) in which Alexander Pushkin 's Ruslan and Lyudmila (1820) was set. [23] The city also appeared in the novels of Ivan Vasilenko and Konstantin Paustovsky and in the poems of Nikolay Sherbina and Valentin Parnakh .

The legend of "Elder Fyodor Kuzmich " is cited in the book Roza Mira by Russian mystic Daniil Andreyev . According to this legend, the Russian tsar Alexander I did not die in Taganrog, but instead left his crown and the status of monarch to continue his life as a traveling hermit. [24]

In foreign literature, the city was mentioned in the titles of Der Tote von Taganrog by Eberhard von Cranach-Sichart   [ de ] and Taganrog by Reinhold Schneider .

In 2004 Sabine Wichert published a collection of poems entitled Taganrog .

In Maria Kuncewiczowa 's 1945 novel The Stranger (New York, LB Fischer publisher), the city of Taganrog plays an essential role as a place of nostalgic happiness for the uprooted Polish musician and matriarch, Rose.
