Explore the heart of Portugal's wine region

Your first day begins when you arrive in Lisbon. The hotel is located in the city centre, just 5 km from Lisbon airport. Our partner will welcome all participants in the afternoon for the first tour briefing and handover of your BMW Motorrad. In the evening, you can look forward to a welcome dinner with your tour guide and the other participants on the tour. On the second day, the round trip begins, you say goodbye to Lisbon and make your way to the Arrábida nature reserve. The roads here are packed with curves and offer spectacular views of the ocean. You cross the River Sado on a ferry before travelling on towards Évora. Évora is a charming city in the heart of Alentejo, and is famous for its rich cultural heritage.

On the third day, you will explore the Alentejo wine region, which is famous for producing magnificent wines. While you take a lunch break in the medieval village of Marvão, you have the opportunity to visit the well-preserved castle and admire the vast plains from the tower. The surrounding landscape is captivating, with perfect views of the white houses that are typical of the region. This day ends in a beautiful pousada located in the Serra da Estrela. On the fourth day, you cross the impressive mountain range of the Serra da Estrela, climb to the highest point and enjoy the breathtaking view of the surrounding landscape on your way into the beautiful Douro Valley.

See the beauty of Portugal along the breathtaking Atlantic coast

After spending the night in a charming hotel near the Douro River, the fifth day of your trip sees you travelling further into the heart of the Douro Valley – one of the oldest and most beautiful wine regions in the world. Marvel at the terraced landscape, which has been used to grow grapevines for more than 2,000 years. Visit the historic centre of Guimarães and the Sanctuary of Bom Jesus do Monte, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, before arriving in Porto. There you will be able to enjoy a relaxing rest day on the sixth day of the tour. You've got plenty of time to explore the city on your own.

On the seventh day, you will head to Aveiro, a city famous for its canals and its elaborate coastal culture. After lunch and a traditional Moliceiro boat tour on the canals, you will travel on to Coimbra, Portugal's oldest university city. Visit the medieval city centre before making your way to your hotel on the Mondego River.

From traditional to historical monuments

On your eighth day, you will visit the Convent of Christ and the Castle of Tomar, which served as the headquarters of the Knights Templar in the 12th century. Then, you will continue on to Nazaré, a small fishing village that has become a hotspot for surfers of late. Finally, the day ends in a very charming and modern hotel, built in the surroundings of a cloister perfectly integrated into the Alcobaça Monastery, one of the most important Cistercian monasteries in the world. 

On the ninth day, you will ride to the charming coastal village of Ericeira, which is known for its surfing beaches and hospitable locals. Your tour then takes you back to Lisbon along the coast and through the beautiful streets of Cape Roca and Cascais Bay, an elegant suburb of Lisbon known for its first-class restaurants and beaches.

On the tenth day, you are free to fly home. Perhaps you'll have time to explore more of Lisbon before your return flight. This will be the end of your unforgettable motorcycle tour through Portugal.

Carlos Azevedo é um viajante compulsivo. Durante os últimos 20 anos percorreu de moto mais de meio milhão de quilómetros, atravessando mais de 100 países e 4 continentes.

Entre 2004 e 2008 realizou a expedição "Até ao fim do mundo, uma aventura de pólo a pólo" que registou no seu blog pessoal: Vadios Ilimitada

É um dos sócios fundadores da MotoXplorers, instrutor de condução Off Road certificado pela BMW Motorrad e responsável pela exploração e desenvolvimento de novos destinos para Tours MotoXplorers.

Ricardo Azevedo tem uma paixão especial pelas motos. É daquelas pessoas que nasceu com o dom da improvisação. Com uma capacidade surpreendente para resolver qualquer problema mecânico em qualquer lugar.

É o fundador do CMX Overland Engineering, um atelier que ganhou fama pela preparação de motos para viagens ao redor do mundo e competições Rally Raid

Piloto talentoso e experiente trouxe um lugar no pódio no BMW GS Challenge Ibérico em 2012. Junta às funções de Tour Leader a gestão da frota de aluguer BMW da MotoXplorers e da nossa Adventure Store.

Enrique Díaz é um galego nascido em Vigo que cedo se cansou da vida académica como biólogo e se apaixonou pela vida na estrada. A sua boa disposição trouxe-o a Lisboa onde se juntou ao projecto MotoXplorers desde a sua génese.

Apaixonado por fotografia e viagens, percorreu ao longo de mais de seis meses todos os países da América do Norte e Central, do Canadá à Colômbia. Sónia Soares é formada em Sociologia e desde que ingressou na nossa equipa tem exercitado e muito a sua licenciatura em ciências sociais. Não é fácil aturar um grupo de viajantes inveterados que só pensa na próxima viagem.

Com mais de 10 anos de experiência em turismo, a Sónia tem-se revelado cada vez mais um elemento essencial para o sucesso dos nossos Tours. Gerir reservas e toda a logística associada a viagens que acontecem em quatro continentes, muitas vezes por regiões com poucas infra-estruturas não é uma tarefa simples, mas é uma tarefa que a Sónia domina como poucas pessoas.

Luís Lourenço já foi fotógrafo, assistente de jornalismo, depois passou para engenharia elétrica e informático na área dos mercados financeiros o tempo suficiente para dizer "basta" e abraçar a sua grande paixão: viajar de moto!

Percorreu quase todos os países da Europa e da América do Sul e é um grande conhecedor de África Ocidental, por onde viaja frequentemente em autonomia.

Participa com regularidade em Rally-Raids como a Baja de Portalegre, o Transportugal e o Raid de l'Amitié em Marrocos. É o principal dinamizador do projecto R3 Rumo Rali Raide  e o linesman português do Trans Euro Trail.

ANTÓNIO DUARTE

António Duarte é um dos motociclistas portugueses que melhor conhece os recantos do nosso país. Adepto do off road em motos Trail de grande cilindrada, organiza e participa regularmente em eventos e competições TT.

Em 2007 participou no Raid D'Amitié em Marrocos e conta no seu curriculum com milhares de quilómetros em Off Road pela Europa, Norte de África e Mauritânia,

Com um conhecimento mecânico extraordinário, muita experiência em viagens por locais remotos e uma boa disposição permanente, o "Zinga" é a mais recente aquisição para a equipe MotoXplorers.

É Tour Leader nos Tours da Europa e Marrocos

Leonard Mateko nasceu no Zimbabwe mas chama casa a todo o cone sul de África. Piloto e Mecânico qualificado, Leonard guia, há mais de 10 anos, expedições de 4x4 entre Cape Town e Nairóbi no Quénia.

Fluente em vários dialectos locais, é guia certificado pela Zimbabwe Tourism Authority e formado com distinção pela exigente South African Field Guides Association.

Leonard é ainda um excelente cozinheiro e um apaixonado pela vida selvagem.

As suas qualificações fazem com que seja recorrentemente requisitado por expedições aos mais variados locais de África.

Ricardo Monteiro   nasceu em Angola, o que lhe deve ter deixado a vontade irreprimível de voltar ao Continente Mãe pois com a Motoxplorers guia maioritariamente as viagens a Marrocos ou à África do Sul, Namibia, Botswana e Zimbabwe, destinos que conhece com grande detalhe. 

Há mais de uma década que se dedica profissionalmente a planear e guiar viagens, por vezes até em 4x4 mas sempre por destinos incríveis em todos os Continentes.

A sua moto pessoal é uma BMW F800GS muito bem preparada para grandes viagens em autonomia, que também já percorreu todos os cantinhos do nosso bonito país.

Nicolas Dedini nasceu no Brasil e é um explorador nato, é uma daquelas pessoas que não é capaz de ficar muito tempo parado no mesmo lugar. Apaixonado pela natureza, divide o seu tempo entre viagens de moto, de bicicleta e o fundo do oceano.

Durante os últimos anos cruzou a solo na sua moto, dezenas de países por toda a Europa, África e América do Sul, viagens que regista no seu blog pessoal:

Carlos Alberto Martins  é fotógrafo de formação e motociclista por vocação. Não se recorda exactamente quantas motos já rodou, mas correspondem a uma vida inteira. 

As motos do Carlos passam o contador das centenas de milhar de quilómetros como as restantes viram dezenas. Mas nem só de alcatrão o homem vive, e o Carlos é um grande conhecedor dos atractivos turísticos da Europa e de Marrocos.

É também fundador do BMW Club Motorrad Fans pois já há muitos anos que se recusa a rodar em outra marca de motos.

André Carvalho é desde sempre, um apaixonado pelo Rally Dakar. Hoje em dia, divide o seu tempo entre a preparação de motos big trail para aventura e expedição e, as viagens que guia tanto em moto como em BTT. Sempre que tem tempo livre adora fugir para Marrocos.

Licenciado em Animação e Produção de Eventos, é formador em diferentes áreas e inclusive, professor de História de Arte.

O André é Tour Leader na MotoXplorers desde 2016. Quando viajar com ele, estamos certos que será perceptível não só a sua paixão pelas motos, mas principalmente o gosto que tem em mostrar o que de melhor houver para conhecer.

João Matias é natural de Alcobaça. A Licenciatura em Turismo foi o motivo que o trouxe até Lisboa. Desde pequeno que a sua curiosidade o levou ao fascínio pelas motos, que hoje fazem activamente parte da sua vida. Entusiasta do todo-o-terreno e amante da natureza, são os seus retiros quando deixa para trás a correria da capital.

Um aventureiro nato, em 2017 embarcou numa viagem de mochila às costas e sem rumo definido. Durante 7 meses esteve envolvido em diferentes projectos de voluntariado em zonas rurais de 6 países europeus. Uma experiência onde não só, fez vários amigos, como teve também um contacto muito próximo com as tradições e culturas locais.

Corine Simão adora aventura, desporto e viagens. Se encontrar uma forma de ter estas 3 coisas juntas então sente-se em casa.

Para ir atrás dos seus sonhos e em busca de novos desafios, viveu em Espanha durante os últimos 7 anos. 5 dos quais, dedicada a tempo inteiro ao seu trabalho num dos maiores centros de Paraquedismo da Europa.

Recentemente, regressou a Portugal  e encontrou na Motoxplorers a oportunidade de continuar a trabalhar numa industria que se adequa completamente com os seus valores e paixões. Embarcou num novo desafio connosco e, actualmente, é responsável pela manutenção e escrita dos nossos conteúdos e pela gestão das nossas Plataformas Sociais.
