Multi-platinum pop icons New Kids on the Block have announced THE MAGIC SUMMER 2024 TOUR . Reimagining the smash 1990 tour of the same name, Donnie, Joey, Jordan, Jonathan & Danny will bring back the magic for fans old and new, this time with very special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. As announced on GMA this morning, the tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on June 14 and hit over 40 cities including Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting with Fanclub and CITI presales beginning Wednesday, November 1. Additional presales will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, November 3 at 10 AM local time on LiveNation.com .

They have promised to be performing their greatest hits, unexpected fan favorites and magical surprises for their diehard fans all across the country. The 2024 Magic Summer Tour is where the magic happens! Fans should expect a summer of fun and nostalgia as the New Kids embark on their first mostly outdoor venue tour in 15 years. NKOTB will be visiting some of the most iconic venues on this tour for a night under the stars, including some of the very same venues that they performed at on the original 1990 Magic Summer Tour.

The sold-out 1990 Magic Summer Tour, sponsored by Coca-Cola & McDonalds, took place at the ultimate height of New Kids’ success, and included multi-night stops at the band’s hometown Foxboro Stadium, Dodgers Stadium, Giants Stadium and many others.  The band collaborated with Harry Blackstone Jr. to stage magic and illusions within their performance, impressing fans and the Magic community alike, and even went on to win a Magic award for their contributions to the medium throughout their tour.

New Kids on the Block is getting ready to party next summer, as the quintet will embark on Magic Summer Tour 2024, announced on Monday (Oct. 30).

New Kids on the Block Team Up With SEVENTEEN’s Joshua, DK & Dino for ‘Dirty Dancing…

The trek — which will feature guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff — serves as a reimagination of the group’s sold-out 1990 tour of the same name. The North American tour is slated to kick off next year on June 14, starting in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, at the town’s Blossom Music Center. It will make stops in Denver, Salt Lake City, Philadelphia, Toronto and more before concluding on Aug. 24 at the Ruoff Music Center in Noblesville, Ind.

As one of the earliest teen-pop boy bands to arrive on the scene, New Kids on the Block helped set the standard for the trend that dominated the '90s and '00s, influencing the likes of N Sync, Backstreet Boys and Westlife.

Masterminded by producer Maurice Starr, New Kids on the Block became a multi-Platinum selling hit, with their R&B-tinged urban pop that found legions of young female fans. The band came together in 1985, after Starr conducted a talent search in the city of Boston, US. Donnie Whalberg, Jordan Knight, Jon Knight, Danny Wood and Joe McIntyre fit the bill, with these young teenagers soon gaining a contract with Columbia Records, before they were barely 16 years old. Their self-titled debut was release in 1986, which failed to capture the nation's attention.

Yet with their second album, "Hangin' Tough," in 1988, the youthful act found an endless stream of hits, with their bubblegum-pop that was perfectly suited to the radio. Five songs broke into the Top Ten, with their Christmas album released the following year going on to sell double-Platinum. New Kids on the Block became household names and sales of their debut rose to multi-Platinum also.

The craze continued into the new decade, with the single "Step by Step" becoming a massive hit, with the album of the same name going on to sell three million copies in America alone. The band were also an international success, shifting 16 million copies globally. Extensive touring followed, which saw them play over 100 dates, whilst also unleashing a whole collection of merchandise that even included dolls. Proving that shrewd marketing pays off, in 1991, the band became the highest-grossing performers, beating the likes of Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Popularity for the group began to wane, with their fan base, and themselves beginning to grow up, finding different desires. In 1994, they attempted to offer a more mature image, going by simply NKOTB and releasing "Face The Music," a more legitimate urban R&B record that displayed their own songwriting talents. Unable to make the desired impact, the group decided to bring it to an end by the end of the year.

Following various solo careers and acting roles, New Kids on the Block decided to return in 2008, releasing "The Block," which despite its negative criticism, still managed to debut at number two in the Billboard charts. New Kids on the Block continued to tour, co-headlining with Backstreet Boys in 2011. Still on the road, new material surfaced in 2013, titled "10."

Last summer my bff and I saw NKOTB four times, and each show was better than the one before. It is high energy and interactive no matter where you sit.

The guys come into the crowd, everyone is on their feet through the whole show, and they have such a huge fan base that is almost like family. We aren't called "5 brothers and a million sisters" for nothing. It is like one huge block party for two solid hours.

Lights, confetti, stages that rise and turn, even the ballads are beyond amazing. They always sound phenomenal, and they make sure they tour in as many places as possible, big arenas and small, so everyone gets a chance to see them. I don't know of any other band that involves their fans as much as they do, and you can see the love for their fans and what they do every night they perform. From the first night of a tour to the last, there is always 200% effort to make sure we get our money's worth.

There are almost no words to describe the feeling you have after seeing them. Excitement because you saw them, but also the feeling of depression and withdrawal because you can't wait to see them again. I have seen so many artists in concert but I have never left an NKOTB show saying "Well that wasn't a great show", I've always said "That was the best show ever!!!" They are without a doubt, the best!

Recently reformed New Kids On The Block have been back on the road since 2008 delighting fans of their chart dominating pop sounds of the 80s along with the new crowds of adoring followers. Having enjoyed huge success in both the US and the UK during their heyday, it was no surprise that the majority of their comeback tour sold out instantly.

For many a teenage girl, New Kids On The Block soundtracked their young lives with classics such as 'I'll Be Loving You (Forever)' and 'Let's Try It Again'. However the crowd gathered in London for their comeback is varied yet they all cheer in unison at the appearance of the group. They are not quite as quick on their feet, yet still perform famed dance routine and know how to delight the crowds with their pop.

Playing a huge set made up of hits, there is mass sing-along for 'Cover Girl' and 'Baby, I Believe in You' while lead vocalists Jonathan and Jordan Knight evoke a sway-along for the dreamy 'Summertime'. By the final toe tapping beats of 'Hangin' Tough' the crowd has enjoyed a wonderful taste of nostalgia.

OMG.... absolutely amazing, it's like seeing them for the first time every single concert. I see them everyyyyytime they come and never feel like I've seen it before. They are dad's now still look hotttttt. I like how they do the change cam and show things from the city they're in I used to live in St Louis they show Cardinals and blue's last night in Indy it was pacers and luck. I love how they cater to their fans coming right out in audience all way around taking selfies touching hugging fans I've been to alot of concerts none of them do that. I loved how they show them young new kids and now new kids what a memory. Thank you for making us feel safe to new kids, with what happened at Arianna concert people could be scared never felt that well for one their hot bods kept my mind off it. Thank you for a great show, fun memories. This blockheads mom was very happy. See ya next tour.

my first concert was back in 1990 at flidders green my mom suprised me with tickets!! i was 15 back then and now 46 im still a big fan my room was covered in posters of all 5 guys and then some, i had the dolls, the bedding, all of there tapes now im showing my age lol...my favorite new kid is jon knight and still is i had a huge crush on him and still do, anyway i can relate to his mental illness which is anxiety i didnt get diagnosed when i was 33 i had a severe panic attack at my sons baseball game it was to many people around me so jon knight i know what your going thru but now i have more confidence in myself and now huge crowds dont bother me any more i think you are a amazing human being and dont forget that!!! to the rest of the 4 new kids i love you all hope to see you all 2023

Even after 30 years, New Kids On The Block (NKOTB) still has Its "pizzazz"! Their MIXED TAPE Tour is a musical stroke of genius and keeps the audience on its feet by switching artists/performers during the concert! SALT N' PEPA, TIFFANY, Debbie Gibson & NAUGHTY BY NATURE were all interspersed on two (2) stages to keep the crowd jamming while NKOTB "MCed" the entire affair. Finally, NKOTB, SALT N' PEPA, NAUGHTY BY NATURE, Debbie Gibson & TIFFANY took the main stage and performed "Push It" SALT N' PEPA's first (1st) hit song! THANK YOU for an enjoyable evening and for establishing a "better" style for a multi-group concert!

Such a fun, exciting concert! I have been an NKOTB fan since a teen, and this concert made me feel like a teen again. All the performers were incredible, and loved the addition of our Toronto Raptor's dancers and Mascot, and Snow. Thank you New Kids for making my teenaged dream come true!

I didn't get to go cause I didn't have a way there and I don't know how to drive and I really wanted to go but I have no way there that sucked I missed out going to see them and I was hoping that got to go to the one in Charlotte I didn't get that one either

One.of the best shows.ive seen so far in El Paso..loves the whole idea of mixtape..for a 3 hour show it didnt even seem like it.The mixture of music keep me alert and not at all bored at any moment..Great concert..just wish Tiffany had sang a little more.

Awesome show. I am 60 years old. Never followed the Kids when I was young. Never was at one of their concerts before. Throughly enjoyed it. Great audience participation. Great songs. I will go again next time they are in town.

Celebrating the 15th anniversary of their reunion album, “ The Block ” (2008), the New Kids On The Block are about to release “ The Block Revisited ” on November 3rd, 2023.

The first single of this new album, “ Dirty Dancing (Dem Jointz Remix) ” featuring Joshua, DK and Dino of “Seventeen” was released on September 1st, 2023.

After her first and only heading concert “Under My Spell” (1991-1992), Paula Abdul returned to the stage in 2016 joining NKOTB’s Mixtape Festival 2016. And in 2017, she returned to touring joining NKOTB’s “Total Package Tour,” which also featured Boyz II Men.

The next year, Paula began performing solo again, in what it was the second heading concert tour of her career. The solo national tour “Straight Up Paula!” (2018-2019) played 25 concerts throughout North America.

On August 13, 2019, Abdul kicked off a residency in Las Vegas. “Paula Abdul: Forever Your Girl.” These concerts at Flamingo Las Vegas coincided with the 30th anniversary of the release of the single “Forever Your Girl” (1/10/89)

Off stage, Paula Abdul has been acting, choreographing and performing. In 2022, she was casted for the second season of HBO’s “Made For Love.”

Also in 2022, Abdul made a cameo in the film “Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers”, alongside with her animated cat character MC Skat Kat (the character appeared for the first time with Paula in 1989, in the video for her song “Opposites Attract.”) Most recently, Paula guest starred in Disney’s comedy musical “The Muppets Mayhem” (2023)

NKOTB Announce Magic Summer 2024 Tour with Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff — See All the Dates!

The New Kids on the Block's new tour, a nostalgic nod to their 1990 stadium tour, will kick off in June 2024

The New Kids on the Block are bringing the magic back to their fans. 

On Monday, the band announced they are hitting the road for The Magic Summer 2024 Tour , a nostalgic nod to their record-breaking stadium tour in 1990 . They will be joined by DJ Jazzy Jeff and Paula Abdul — who previously performed with the New Kids on their Total Package Tour in 2017 — on a string of North American shows at mostly outdoor amphitheaters and venues.

With members Joey McIntyre , Donnie Wahlberg , Danny Wood and brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight , NKOTB will kick off the tour at the Blossom Music Center in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio on June 14. The group then takes their more than 40-date run around the country, with stops in Phoenix, Dallas and Philadelphia before wrapping up in Noblesville, Indiana on Aug. 25. 

Along with performing in some of the same venues as they did during New Kids mania in the early '90s, the band also says they'll incorporate some elements from the original tour into their new production.

“The true ‘magic’ of this tour is in the music, the moments and the memories that we get to create — and recreate — with our amazing fans each night," Wahlberg said in a release. “Feeling all the nostalgic feels of the original Magic Summer, with the bond that we’ve shared throughout the years, will make for a most magical time indeed.”

In the spirit of throwbacks and nostalgia, the New Kids followed up their announcement with a new promotional video featuring the five members coming to life as their once-popular line of dolls, which were sold during the height of the boyband's popularity. Along with showing the singers dressed in exact replicas of their dolls' clothing, the clip (see below) also includes a surprise cameo by Fuller House star Andrea Barber .

In addition to the new tour, the New Kids will release The Block Revisited , a special 15th-anniversary edition of their 2008 reunion album The Block , on Nov. 3. The deluxe collection features four previously unreleased songs, additional bonus material and a remix of their single “Dirty Dancing” featuring Joshua, DK and Dino from K-pop supergroup Seventeen .

When it was originally released in 2008, the comeback album featured the hits “Summertime,” “2 in the Morning” and “Single,” as well as collaborations with the Pussycat Dolls’ Nicole Scherzinger , NE-YO and then little-known singer Lady Gaga , who performed on the song “Big Girl Now” and opened for the group on their first reunion tour.  

Ticket sales for The Magic Summer 2024 Tour will begin with the fan club presale on Wednesday, Nov. 1. Presales will follow throughout the week, before the general public on-sale begins Friday, Nov. 3 at 10 a.m. See below for a full list of tour dates.

Reimagining the smash 1990 tour of the same name, Donnie, Joey, Jordan, Jonathan & Danny will bring back the magic for fans old and new, this time with very special guests Paula Abdul and DJ Jazzy Jeff. As announced on GMA this morning, the tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on June 14 and hit over 40 cities including Milwaukee on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater , Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

Are you ready to rock? Here are some big concerts coming to Columbus in 2024

A parade of popular performers is heading to Columbus in 2024, ranging from legends such as Branford Marsalis and Bruce Springsteen to new kid on the block Olivia Rodrigo and the actual New Kids on the Block , now known as NKOTB.

Leading the lineup will be Canadian rapper-singer Drake , set for two shows with fellow rapper-vocalist J. Cole at the Schottenstein Center, West Lane Avenue and Olentangy River Road. The 37-year-old, known for his sing-song delivery, will appear at 8 p.m. Feb. 20-21, after postponing shows in Columbus two times last year. Ticket prices start at $129.50 for the Feb. 20 concert and $100 for Feb. 21 at ticketmaster.com .

Tennessee football ticket price hike in 2025 to help pay players in revenue sharing era

The University of Tennessee will increase football ticket prices and the required donations that accompany them by an average of 14.5% in 2025 with most of the new cost going to a “talent fee” to pay players.

On Tuesday, UT informed season-ticket holders of the price hike via email, along with a video of athletics director Danny White explaining the purpose of the move.

Revenue sharing for athletes is coming to college sports as early as next year.

The richest schools will opt in by funding an estimated $22 million pool to pay athletes directly and about another $5-10 million to fund additional scholarships. The remaining schools could be left in the dust.

UT is opting in, and fans will pay a portion of that cost of competition.

“We’ve come a long way in the last few years. In this new era, it’s going to get a lot more expensive,” White told Knox News. “But there’s also going to be a closer relationship between resources and competition than there ever has been before. And our biggest asset is our fan base.”

Here’s the breakdown of the average 14.5% price increase of tickets at Neyland Stadium in 2025:

• Initial average increase of 4.5% per seat on single-game tickets and season tickets plus donations. Some will be higher, some lower. That increase accounts for UT’s rising costs for construction, food, travel and other athletic department expenses.
• An additional 10% increase per seat on all single-game tickets and season tickets plus donations as a “talent fee” to fund the revenue-sharing pool for athletes coming as early as 2025.

Season ticket renewals will begin Thursday, and the renewal deadline is Feb. 27, 2025. UT is offering a 10-month payment plan to help fans absorb the cost increase.

UT already doubled student ticket prices from $10 to $20 this season, and they’ll go up to $25 in 2025.

Paying Tennessee players, extra scholarships could cost $30 million

The details of revenue sharing aren’t known yet because they’re contingent on the settlement of the House v. NCAA federal antitrust case, which is still amid negotiations. Revenue sharing could go into effect as early as July 2025.

But generally, schools will have the option of funding up to 22% of their annual revenue, or about $22 million, to pay athletes. It could work sort of like a salary cap for college sports, but that structure is also murky.

All SEC and Big Ten schools are expected to opt in to the revenue-sharing model, and some schools from weaker conferences will attempt to keep pace.

Paying athletes for their name, image and likeness could still be a factor in landing and retaining top players. But NIL’s place in a revenue-sharing model is uncertain.

The cap on scholarships also will rise as early as July 2025. Football can go from 85 scholarships to 105. Baseball can go from 11.7 scholarships to 35, and so on.

Many schools won’t be able to fund those extra scholarships unless they drop some sports.

For schools like UT that are opting in, it will require about $30 million annually to both fund revenue sharing and additional scholarships. That’s where UT's ticket price hike comes in.

“It’s really a $30 million-plus math problem,” White said. “We’re not just offloading it to our fans. We are asking them to help us with a portion of it.”

How ticket price hike will fund portion of player pay

UT estimates the 10% ticket price increase for a “talent fee” will account for $7.5 million, or about one-third of the annual $22 million revenue-sharing pool to pay athletes.

The university is tapping other revenue streams to keep pace with the richest schools in this new pay-for-play era of college football.

The Tennessee Fund raised $139.7 million in 2023-24, the best year in UT athletics fundraising history. That mark has increased more than $100 million in the past four years since White was hired.

And UT has landed lucrative corporate sponsorships, such as the Pilot branding rights deal on Neyland Stadium . That has helped fund facility renovations and restock the athletic department coffers for this new arms race in college athletics.

Danny White believes resources produce winning

That revenue surge recently yielded White a contract extension and raise to become the highest paid AD at a public university in the country. His pay increased to at least $2.75 million with the same 5% annual increase from his original contract.

White believes resources produce winning, and his track record at UT reinforces that philosophy. So it's no surprise that he'll lead UT into the revenue-sharing era in college sports.

In 2023, UT athletics had its highest operating revenue in history at more than $200 million, exceeding the previous record by almost $50 million. And the Vols have won at a staggering level alongside those soaring revenues.

In 2023-24, UT finished  third in the Learfield Director’s Cup , the highest in school history, and captured its  third straight SEC All-Sport title . It was one of two schools in a power conference to have every sport reach the NCAA postseason or a bowl game.

In March, UT men’s basketball made the Elite Eight for the second time in program history. In June, Vols baseball won its first national championship at the College World Series, and Tony Vitello was rewarded with a new contract that made him the highest paid college baseball coach  in the nation.

And UT football is ranked in the top 10 for the second time in the past three seasons under coach Josh Heupel, whom White hired.

UT is among hottest tickets in college football

White said UT ticket prices are comparable to competitors in the SEC and nationally, and demand is high for the Vols.

UT sold out its 70,500 season tickets for the second straight season and the third time in the past 23 years. And there’s a waiting list of almost 15,000 fans showing interest in season tickets, White said.

The Vols have posted 15 consecutive sellouts. That’s especially notable considering Neyland Stadium's capacity of 101,915 makes it the sixth-largest college stadium in the country.

Last season, UT led the SEC in total home attendance (713,405) and average home attendance (101,915), ranking third and fourth, respectively, in the nation.

“We have a waiting list of 15,000. So if we were about cold-hearted business, we would probably be a lot more aggressive with our price points,” White said. “But this is college athletics, and we have a real passionate fan base.

“We don’t take these decisions lightly. We work hard to try to thread the needle between generating the revenue we need but also being fair and reasonable.”
