It truly is amazing how one opportunity can domino into another amazing opportunity. For Bobby Randall, Jim Scholten, Joe Smyth, Greg âHobieâ Hubbard and Mark Miller, the first opportunity was to play as the supporting band for country pop singer Don King; this lead to them forming their own band under the name Sawyer Brown that has continued to allow them to share their music with millions of people around the world. They have even collected a number of Country Music awards including CMT video group award and CMA vocal group of the year award.
Since their formation in the mid 90s, they have been traveling and performing their live shows for quite a long time. This means that they have acquired a lot of fans that flock to their shows and pack the venue. There is a lot of love, a lot of energy and a lot of passion that goes into the show. From the audience to the band itself, you can clearly see how much they love performing for their fans. Spread out across the stage, they even have a bit of banter between each other, giving everyone an inside look at how great a friendship they have.

Sawyer Brown never fails to put on great show and Logan's show was no exception! They were fabulous! The band's amazing energy is second only to their kick butt sound. I have followed Sawyer Brown since 1983 and they just get better and better. Shayne is second to none on the guitar. Mark's voice continues to wow. Put those 2 together for "All These Years" and while the song is about adultery, they are wonderful. They bring tears to my eyes Every time. "Traveling Band" is one of my new favorites. I love the sincerity. I love Hobie's solos! He is such an incredible talent! Shayne's covers were awesome! As long as this band travels I will drive to see them, it was terrific they were in Logan this year, last year I drove to Price. Thank Sawyer Brown;Mark, Hobie, Jim, Joe and Shayne for Blessing us with your God given talent!
Great concert! Can't wait to attend another Sawyer Brown high engery show! The meet and greet session before the concert was a life time experience. If you ever have a chance to attend a Sawyer Brown concert, I have just one word for you...GO! You'll be glad you did.
Sawyer Brown is always a treat to see in concert. Mark Miller and the boys have so much energy and love the songs too. They really interact well with the crowd of both young and old. The boys get along together well even after all these years.
They always give the BEST concerts!! Saw them on February 15, 2022 at the Grand Ole Opry; they came out smiling and Never stopped!!! Show was high energy as usual and just as spectacular as usual!! Canât wait for my next concert!!!
Awesome as usual. Still just as high energy as the first time I saw them. I really enjoyed the smaller more intimate setting. They played some of their older tracks, which was very enjoyable.

ABOUT SAWYER BROWN
Mark miller.
Mark Miller was born in Ohio, but moved to Florida when he was in eighth grade. Growing up, he played basketball, went to the beach, worked at Walt Disney World, and went to schoolâpretty much in that order. He was on the basketball team at the University of Central Florida when he started writing songs, finally deciding to move to Nashville to focus on singing and songwriting. The move worked out okay.
Mark has written many of Sawyer Brownâs hits, including âStep That Step,â âThe Walk,â âThank God for You,â âThe Boys and Me,â as well as the bandâs anthem: âSome Girls Do.â
Mark discovered the band Casting Crowns and has produced all of the bandâs CDs, winning a Grammy for his work with them along the way. In April 2013, âRing the Bell,â a movie that Mark wrote and produced, was releasedâand he has more movies in the pre-production stage. He doesnât sleep much. Mark and his wife Lisa have two childrenâMadison and Gunnar. They own their daddy.
Lead Vocals
Gregg Hubbard
Gregg âHobieâ Hubbard was born and raised in Apopka, FloridaâThe Indoor Foliage Capitol of the World. So there.
There was never a time Hobie can remember that he wasnât listening toâand by listening we mean obsessed withâmusic. He grew up attached to the radio and record playerâand is still rarely very far from either one todayâŚalthough the record player looks more like an ipod these days.
Hobie sang and played piano in church through his high school years and began writing songs when he was in college. He has co-written several of Sawyer Brownâs hits, including âThe Dirt Road,â âDrive Me Wild,â ââRound Here,â and âOutskirts of Town,â as well as several songs on the Sawyer Brown Christmas albums. In addition to Sawyer Brown, Hobie has sung background on recording sessions for a variety of artists.
Hobie gave up a promising career in the food services industry to join the band. He might or might not still have the smock.
Joe Smyth never met a percussive instrument he didnât likeâand he can play them all. The bandâs original bio stated that Joe played 300 percussive instrumentsâa number that Hobie made up, but still swears by.
Joe is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music and earned a Masterâs Degree in Music from the University of Miamiâbut he doesnât rub that in the other guysâ faces. That speaks volumes about him.
In addition to being a sought-after session drummer, Joe is accomplished symphonic musician, as well. He has played with the Nashville Symphony, including at their heralded appearance at Carnegie Hall.
Joe is also a respected percussion instructor, doing his part to nurture the next generation of drummers and percussionists.
Joe and his wife Dana are the proud parents of Tristan, Jenna, and Bryce.
Drums/Percussion
Lead Guitar
Shayne hill.
Shayne Hill is the not-so-new ânew guy.â Shayne joined the band in June of 2004âafter rehearsing with the band once. Once. Yesâhe was that good.
Shayne grew up on the road playing music. His family had a band and they toured all across the Western U.S.âwith Shayne playing even more instruments than he does today. But noâhe will not play fiddle for you. Weâve already asked him.
Once moving to Nashville, Shayne toured with Chely Wright, Avalon, and LeAnn Rimes, just to name a few. He is also an in-demand background singer and guitar player. And since he needs just a little bit more to do, he has his own recording studioâwhere he can be found whenever one of his kids isnât cryingâŚand sometimes even when they are.
Shayne and his wife Kristin have two children, Jesse and Harperâthey are cute like their mama.

In 1300, there was a village called Ugly on the the territory of the present city. Today, it is one of the districts of Stary Oskol. At that time, the village was part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and was a border crossing point on the border with the Golden Horde.
The settlement of Oskol was founded by Russian Tsar Fyodor Ioanovich’s order (Ivan’s the Terrible son) to protect the southern borders of the Russian kingdom in 1593. The bulk of the population were peasants and the military.
In 1617, the town was burned by the Poles. In 1625, 1642 and 1677, the Crimean Tatars approached Stary Oskol, but could not capture it. The town was renamed Stary Oskol (meaning Old Oskol) in 1655, when the town of Tsaryov-Alexeyev, located down the river, was renamed Novy Oskol (New Oskol). Fortifications of the town existed until the 18th century.

In the late 1960s - early 1970s, in connection with the active development of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly (the most powerful iron ore basin in the world), Stary Oskol became a major center of iron and steel industry.
Stary Oskol was declared a city of three top-priority Komsomol construction projects. The largest enterprises: Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Plant, Stoilensky Mining and Processing Plant, Oskolsky Electrometallurgical Plant became not only the city-forming enterprises, but also the largest industrial enterprises of the country.
