Camper vans are an attractive option given that they are compact, rugged, and can be as equipped as you need. You can go pretty much anywhere a car can go and get better gas mileage than bigger RVs.

They come in a variety of sizes and configurations depending on their purpose.

Some are designed for weekend travel, while others can accommodate simple full-time living. Some are for campgrounds, and others for boondocking. Some are cheap, and others are shockingly expensive!

How Do You Choose the Right Camper Van?

Like other RV classes, there are many options for camper vans on the market. Perhaps too many. That's why we're highlighting the best ones.

Choosing the best camper van for you depends on your travel plans, as well as the following considerations:

• Your Budget
• Size to accommodate your gear and passengers
• Drivetrain (2-wheel, 4-wheel, or all-wheel drive)
• Diesel vs. gasoline
• Service history and mileage (if buying used)
• Weekender vs. Fulltime

The following list of 2024 best camper vans gives you a range of the above features.

The Best Camper Vans 2024

Based on our experience, many visits to RV shows, and other campers, we’ve compiled a list of the best camper vans for you to check out this year.

You'll find camper vans that are tried-and-true, as well as new models that are catching the attention of RVers everywhere.

The following are listed in no particular order, as the “best” depends on your individual needs and wants. But this shortlist will help you determine which camper van is best for you.

1. Grech STRADA-ion

The STRADA-ion is Grech's flagship Sprinter Motorhome. It's a luxury Class B with an advanced lithium-ion battery energy storage system. It provides a total of 1,260Ah, which will run the AC for up to 12 hours on battery power alone.

It has a 280-amp alternator that charges the lithium-ion batteries from idle , meaning you don't have to drive to charge your batteries. The battery management software pairs with its Fire Fly control system, which you can operate from your phone.

The 2024 Grech RV Strada is built on the all-new 2023 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter AWD. with air suspension.

It's 24 feet long and sleeps 2. It comes in 2 floorplans, the Lounge Plan and Tour Plan. The biggest difference between the two is that the Lounge Plan seats up to 9, whereas the Tour Plan “only” seats 7. I put “only” in quotations because 7 is a lot of people!

And all seats have seat belts! Many campervans can “seat” several guests, but only provide seatbelts for 2-4. The Stradia provides a safer alternative for all of your travel companions.

MSRP starts at $259,900.

2. Embassy RV Dolphin SL

The Embassy Dolphin SL is known for its revolutionary floor plan that allows for two separate sleeping areas . That means a person can stay awake or wake up early and not disturb the person who's sleeping!

This separate sleeping arrangement also makes it popular among single parents, traveling friends, and traveling business partners. And, speaking of work, the rear bed platform converts into a table-height desk.

It's 22'2″ long and built on a Ford Transit Chassis. The kitchen and bathroom separate the front living/sleeping area from the rear bedroom. Your usable space can be extended with an optional rear porch with tent.

The Dolphin SL has a lithium-ion battery system. It doesn't come with solar, but the system can be fully charged by the engine. You can add a battery management system with Bluetooth™ connectivity as an option.

Unfortunately, Embassy doesn't list MSRP, but it likely starts in the $150,000 – $175,000 range. So, you have to call to get a quote for your desired floorplan and options.

The No Wood RV = Mold & Mildew Resistant (Video)

BUT! Perhaps the most NOTABLE FEATURE of the latest Dolphin SL RV Model is that it's a No Wood RV. It's made of composite material that makes it mold and mildew-resistant .

That's excellent news for RVers in wet or tropical climates. (Hear that Florida snowbirds?!)

3. Roadtrek Pivot

The Roadtrek Pivot is 20'9″ long and built on a RAM Promaster 3500 chassis. It comfortably seats 4 and sleeps 3 with an optional folding mattress.

It has two different bed setup options: two twin beds or one king bed. The optional single folding mattress can be laid across the front two captain seats.

A popular feature is its Duo Space bathroom , which comes standard. It has a pivoting wall that creates a separate showering area and keeps the other amenities dry. They market it as the “driest wet bath ever.”

It also has an outdoor shower and rear access doors. So, you can open the side sliding door and rear swing doors for an open indoor/outdoor setup.

It comes standard with a 13′ power awning, 600 AMP lithium battery system, generator, 300-watt solar panels, and 12/100 V power inverter.

MSRP starts at $183,386.

4. Roadtrek Chase

We've owned a couple Roadtreks, so it's no surprise another model makes it on the list. The Chase is one of the most affordable on the list with it's simple, efficient design.

The Chase is 20'9″ and built on the Ram ProMaster 3500 extended van chassis. It can seat 4 and sleep 3 with an optional folding mattress that lays over the cab seats.

It has a 300W solar panel and 600 amp lithium battery system. Some other nice standard features include a 13′ power awning, 11,000 BTU A/C, and heavy duty magnetic bug screens for rear and passenger sliding door.

MSRP is $176,386.

5. Coachmen Galleria Li3

The Coachmen Galleria is 24'3″ long and built on the award-winning 3500 Mercedes Sprinter extended platform. We toured it and took the above picture at the Florida RV SuperShow.

It has four floorplan options , including one option (24A) with a fixed bed and power incline storage underneath. Its kitchen is on the bigger side, including a 7.3 cu. ft. refrigerator with pull-out freezer in the 24A and 24FL floor plans.

Standard features include an Onan quiet generator, 330W solar, and a standard 330 Ah AGM battery with 2,000W Pure Sine Wave Inverter.

But you'll notice that we specifically listed the Galleria Li3 . This is an upgraded option for a 630 Ah Li3 lithium battery that we think makes it one of the best camper vans. (The model pictured above is an Li3).

Coachmen doesn't list the MSRP, but it likely starts around $250,000. You'd need to contact a local dealer to learn more.

6. Coachmen Beyond

Coachment earns another spot on the list with the Beyond. We toured it and took the above picture at the Florida RV SuperShow.

At 22'2 “, it's two feet shorter and gets 1 mpg better gas mileage than the Galleria. It's built on the Ford Transit AWD chassis with a 3.5L EcoBoost engine and 10-speed transmission.

The Beyond has three floorplan options , including the 22RB that has a rear wet bath with a flip-down sink and shower. This roomier bathroom makes it a popular choice.

Some standard features include a 2.8KW gasoline generator, 195W solar panel with dual charging capabilities, and a 2,000W Xantrex inverter with auto-gen start. Like the Galleria, you can opt for the Li3 Lithium Battery System, among other nice upgrade options.

Coachmen doesn't list the MSRP, but it likely starts around $200,000. You'd need to contact a local dealer to learn more.

7. Coachmen Nova

That's right, Coachmen has a third model that makes our list of the best camper vans. The Nova (as the name implies) is the newest member of the Coachmen Class B family.

The Nova is 20'11” and has three floorplans to choose from. Like the Beyond, it has a floorplan option with a rear bath (20RB).

It's built on the Ram Pro Master 3500 extended Chassis with a 3.6L V6 engine. It comes standard with 220W solar and 3 Group 31 115AH AGM Batteries.

Like the other two Coachmen on this list, you can opt for the Li3 Lithium Battery System. A unique option the Nova offers is a Pop Top with a 190W solar panel, skylight, and Thule awning.

Again, Coachmen doesn't list the MSRP, but it likely starts around $175,000. You'd need to contact a local dealer to learn more.

8. Thor Tellaro

The Tellaro from Thor is one of the most affordable camper vans on this list. It features many of the same functionalities as their Sequence model, except the Tellaro is available with a pop-top.

The Tellaro is 21′ long, and without the pop-top, sleeps two people. It's available in 4 floorplans, so you have lots of choices with this one. We particularly like the 20A floorplan that gives you a sky bunk option in addition to a rear bedroom.

Standard equipment includes a Thule bike rack, 190-watt solar panel, dual 100-Ah lithium house batteries, power awning, and a power-saver AC system. This model features the same generator you’ll find in the Solis, as well as a similar bathroom.

The Tellaro, however, does have a few advantages over the Winnebago Solis. For example, it has a bigger dining table and refrigerator, extended storage space, and a powered awning.

Tellaro MSRP starts at $140,560, depending on the floorplan you select. The 20A floorplan that we like starts at $144,760.

9. 4X4 Tiffin GH1

The GH1 is the new Tiffin 4×4 AWD vehicle, replacing the Tiffin Cahaba. It's a small but mighty camper van that seats 4 and sleeps 2.

The overall length is 19'6″ long and built on a Mercedes 2500 Sprinter chassis with a 3.0L turbo diesel engine.

It has on-board 200-watt solar panel, and a 540-Amp Hour Lithium-Ion Battery Kit with a 3,000-Watt Inverter. It's pre-wired for optional Starlink Pro and its 15,000-BTU A/C has soft-start and WirelessCapability.

The sleek design includes all-metal running boards, a fixed and side-mounted roof access ladder, and a powered awning. Another cool feature is its on-board air compressor.

Tiffin doesn't list the MSRP, but it likely starts around $180,000. Contact a local dealer to learn more.

10. Winnebago Travato

The Travato from Winnebago is one of the top-selling camper vans in North America. At 21’, it sleeps 2 and seats 4.

It has 2 floorplans, one with a single large Murphy+bed (59G) and the other with two single beds (59K). Both floor plans are available in either AGM batteries/generator or lithium with a second under-the-hood alternator (59GL and 59KL).

It's built on a Ram ProMaster chassis with a 3.6L V6 engine.

Roof and sidewall insulation, heated tanks and available dual-pane acrylic insulated windows extend the camping season. We love winter camping, and even wrote an ebook for those who want to give it a try.

The Travato features a Pure 3  Advanced Energy System that provides more than 9,000 useable watt-hours of power. You can boost that to over 12,000 with their optional 4-module energy pack.

The 4 floorplans range from $175,292 to $210,515.

Winnebago also offers a 4-sleeper floorplan with the Solix 59PX . It starts at $152,169.

11. Winnebago Revel

Winnebao earns another spot on the list with the Revel. It's now built on the AWD Mercedes-Benz® Sprinter chassis with a 4 cylinder turbo diesel engine.

The Revel is 19'7″, sleeps 2, and seats 4. It comes with one 320-amp hour LiFePO 4  battery you can monitor via Bluetooth. ®  Plus, a quiet, Hydronic Heating System.

The Revel's most notable feature that sets it apart from others is its power lift bed with large gear garage below. It gives you extra gear storage without sacrificing sleeping space. We also like the fold-down outside table.

MSRP is $223,495, which we think is reasonable for this compact RV that fits a lot of gear.

12. Pleasure-Way Plateau FL

The Plateau FL is 22'9″ long and built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 3500 van chassis. It has a 3.0L V6 BlueTEC diesel engine.

It has two separate living areas with an electric sofa that coverts to a queen bed in the back and a lounge area in the front. This setup allows two people to easily enjoy “Me Time” with separate TVs and sitting areas.

The front lounge also has a multifunctional workstation. And the gallery kitchen has more counterspace than you often see in camper vans.

The Plateau FL has Dual 100Ah lithium batteries, a 2000-watt pure-sine wave inverter, and an Onan generator.

MSRP is $204,750.

13. Airstream Rangeline

The Airstream Rangeline is 21′ long and is built on the RAM ProMaster 3500 chassis. It has a 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine.

It has a simple, efficient floorplan with a rear sleeping area for 2 and seat capacity for 4. You can expand the living and sleeping space with an optional pop-top.

It comes standard with a single 270Ah Deep Cycle Lithium Battle Born Battery (LiFePO4), 100 amp charger, a 2,000 watt power inverter, and a 200 watt solar panel.

It may not have as many bells and whistles as other camper vans, but it's very practical and comfortable. Plus, it's one of the most affordable options.

Pricing starts at $147,570.

14. Airstream Interstate

The Airstream Interstate comes in 6 models and two sizes: 19′ and 24′. You get lots of options, especially when it comes to how many people it can accommodate.

The 19-foot models sleep 2 and seat 4, but the 24-foot models can sleep two and seat up to 9 people! It's hard to go into detail about the features and floor plans, because you have so many options.

But Airstream lives up to its iconic name with all six models. So, they're worth checking out individually. The image above is the largest, most expensive of the bunch.

MSRP ranges from $178,640 to $246,351.

15. Entegra Coach Launch

The Entegra Coach Launch is 19'6″ long and is built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 4×4 van chassis. It has a 2.0L 4-cylinder diesel engine.

The interior includes a generous garage space in the rear with a drop-down bed. It can sleep 2 and seat 3 in a small yet functional living area.

On the exterior, it has a fold-down exterior table, a double roof rack, and a moveable roof ladder. New for 2024, is its integrated Starlink Satellite Internet System.

It comes standard with a 48V 210Ah smart lithium battery that provides 10KWh of power. It also has a 3,500W inverter and 200W solar panels.

The Entegra Coach website has a Build & Price feature, which shows the basic MSRP at $246,375.

16. Westfalia Wave

Twenty years after leaving the American market, the Italian RV company, Westfalia, returns to our shores. Westfalia campers are best known for their pop-up roofs, but they are also introducing a brand-new model called the Wave .

The Wave is 20′-9″ on a Dodge Promaster chassis. It has a complete bathroom, kitchen, and versatile sleeping options for up to 6 people. Yes, this campervan can sleep up to six people!

Their patented convertible passenger seating flips down over the driver's area to create a third bed. That's in addition to the pop-top bed that's perfect for kids and the larger bed options in the back. Of course, 6 adults would be pushing it, but it's a great option for families with small kids or teens.

Other notable features include:

• Modern natural tones
• Rear, under-bed trunk that can fit mountain bikes
• Pass-through storage that can fit long gear, like paddle boards
• Cassette toilet in wet bath (yes, it has a shower!)
• Propane cooktop, microwave oven, and Vitrifrigo Refrigerator
• 600-amp hours of lithium batteries & 3,000-watt inverter
• Firefly tablet-style multiplex system

We got to tour it at this year's RV SuperShow in Tampa, and were impressed. They list two Florida RV dealers on their American website and include MSRP, so it seems like they are officially available*!

The non-pop top Wave MSRP is $156,627. The Wave Pop Top MSRP is $167,616.

*It's rather common at RV shows for European models to be showcased and promoted as “coming to America” without any substance backing that up. They attract a lot of hype at RV shows , but then you never see these RVs actually make it onto American roads.

So, it's reassuring that Westfalia already has an established and growing dealership network. Pro Tip: Be sure to ask about FIRM delivery dates. If the best they can offer is “available soon,” consider holding off.

17. The Advanced RV Van

Rounding out our list of the best Cass B RVs for 2022 are the custom vans built by Advanced RV of Willoughby, Ohio.

They are not for everyone because of the cost. They even clearly state in their FAQs that “an ARV will cost 2-4 times more than a factory-built, class B motorhome purchased from a dealer.” They're very possibly the most expensive campervan on the market.

These vans – built on the Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis – are completely customized to the customer. Each one is built with features and a floor plan personally selected by the buyer after several days of planning with Advanced RV engineers and designers.

No two Advanced RV vans are alike, and each is named by the customer. From the time the order is submitted to the time it is delivered – usually a year-long process – it is referred to by that name and never a number. 

The vans typically have massive lithium battery power supplies, high-end, computer-controlled air suspension systems for smooth rides, handcrafted cabinetry, deluxe entertainment systems, and innovative components like recirculating water systems.

The vans start at about $340,000 and go up to around $500,000.

I told you these were not for everyone. But in a list of the best Class B RVs, Advanced RV has to be included. They truly are quality designs.

It is worth noting that they have Pre-Owned ARVs for sale on their website, as well. You don't get to fully customize it, but you do get a customized van at a better price.

These are all great but I am telling you I own a 1998 Chinook and it just blows all of these out of the water. Just a lot more room. 4 people can comfortably play cards around the resturant like booth and table. My advise is buy a mint one for 20k and spend 10k updating all the electronics. Only downside is I am 5-9 200lbs, not very big, but I have trouble wiping my butt in the little wet bath. Hey, I didn’t buy it for the pooper anyway but it is good enough. Just dont eat a lot of donuts.

Mike, I was surprised you did not have the Pleasureway Ontour 2.0 and 2.2 in your list. These are some of the most sought after vans in the country. I have an Ontour 2.2 and this coach is amazing. From the Ford eco boost engine to the large bathroom it is close to the perfect B. This doesn’t take into account the customer service Pleasureway is known for. I am 6ft 4in and about 280lbs and it is the only B van than is comfortable for someone my size.

Just an FYI: The Pleasure-Way Plateau is on a 3500 Mercedes Benz Sprinter van, not a 2500.

We own a 2018 Pleasure-Way XLTS, the larger B+ van, they currently don’t make them (too bad, it’s great!) and we love it! We looked at several others and felt the quality of Pleasure-Way was better than some on your list that you’ve rated higher, but that’s our opinion.

Great list! I recently did 2 road trips, 1 in a Winnebago Solis in the States and 1 in a brand new VW T6.1 California in Portugal. The ‘Winnie’ was pretty good but it’s a big sloppy thing, driving it just isn’t much fun and we had a bunch of issues with it form the start… Not Ideal…

The 2nd trip was much different. Portugal is incredible and I was blown away by the level of quality in the VW camper. The fit and finish was really nice and tight. If anyone is heading out that way check out the company, Siesta Campers, I think they’re really onto something special there. Enjoy the ride.

We have a 1990 Ford E-250 fully self-contained. Shower works but is not hooked up. Few minor dings and repairs. We bought this as a basket case and then had nearly everything repaired so it all works fine now, I think. Has new Michelin tires, new computer, many other things. Microwave, fridge, TV, 2-burner stove, Onan 2800 generator, Comfortably sleeps 3 adults or maybe two adults, two children. Respond with ph# or email and I can provide pics and other details. We don’t need to sell but will as both of us are facing health issues. ~est. $20,000 or so.

Forgot to mention this is a factory Ford 190 Falcon. Mileage is 99435. No leaks on vehicle or engine, trans, etc., all 3 new fuel pumps, both batteries replaced, tranny flushed, inverter plate replaced, full tune-up, manual awning works fine, AC/heater work good, plus several other minor things done and a few yet to be including a few cosmetic things. Currently winterized.

Force Motors unveils all-new 'Traveller' with BS 6 diesel and electric engines

Force Motors, the market leader in the inter-city commuter vans space, on Wednesday unveiled an all new premium model of its popular van Traveller with BS 6 diesel powertrain and electric engine options, developed over the past four years with a project investment of over ₹ 1,000 crore.

The yet-to-be named 18-seater van will begin commercial production towards the end of the year and will be showcased at the forthcoming Auto Expo in Delhi, the company said.

Presently christened T1N, the van will be export-focused and the Firodias, who were the pioneers of three-wheeler autorickshaws in the 1950s, will begin shipping the van, which boasts of 25 industry-first features, to the Gulf markets where it is already present, Prasan Firodia, managing director at Force Motors and the son of company chairman Abhay Firodia, told PTI.

The other focus market will be North Africa, South Africa, Asean, South America and the Saarc region, he said, adding from a regulatory compliance perspective it can be sold in Europe, the Far East and the US.

Firodia refused the reveal the price or the battery range saying the vehicle in not ready for commercial production. Its present 18-seater Traveller is priced at around ₹ 15 lakh.

Whether a higher pricing will be detrimental in a falling market like the present one, he said, "their primary focus will be exports as we want to use this van to be our springboard to become a global automotive company".

He also ruled out cannibalisation of the existing models saying there is market for every model as has been their experience with Trax and Traveller so far which offer 9-seaters to 26-seaters now.

The Pune-based company is the largest van maker in the country with 68 per cent market share and nets almost 50 per cent of its income from its engine supply business with Mercedes and BMW now.

In the quarter to September, Force Motors reported a 5.6 per cent drop on revenue at ₹ 818 crore while its net income plunged 84 per cent to ₹ 4.2 crore.

"The T1N was triggered about four years ago with the objective to develop a truly world-class shared mobility platform that would be ahead of current offerings and raise the bar in terms of passenger comfort, convenience and safety to international standards," the senior Firodia said while unveiling the project.

The junior Firodia said the company has invested more than ₹ 1,000 crore in developing the new van, which will be built at its Pithampur near Indore plant where it is building an entirely new body shop with robotic and laser welding facilities with an installed capacity of 35,000 units.

"We are the first domestic auto company to develop an all grounds-up next generation monocoque panel van platform, which will host many more models going ahead," the chairman said.

The managing director later told PTI that over the next two years, the new platform will come out with two new models in the shared mobility space and those will be unveiled at the forthcoming Auto Expo in Delhi.

On the capex plan, he said they have lined up around ₹ 600 crore for the next two years to develop these models.

The van is the first in this category offering crash and rollover compliance with air bags for driver and co-driver even though current laws does not mandate them. The van boasts of many more features developed in consultation with leading technology specialists and domain experts from Italy, Spain, Britain, Germany, Japan and the US.

PEUGEOT REVEALS NEW E-TRAVELLER

PEUGEOT has revealed the new E-TRAVELLER. Designed to be more efficient, more comfortable, safer and more elegant, the new PEUGEOT E-TRAVELLER meets the zero-emission mobility requirements of professional drivers.

The new PEUGEOT E-TRAVELLER is the ideal companion for all professional customers who are looking for a vehicle capable of comfortably transporting a large number of passengers and their luggage on long journeys in comfort.

The new E-TRAVELLER is available in two lengths, Standard (4.98 m) and Long (5.33 m). At just 1.90m wide, access to car parks is no challenge for the E-TRAVELLER.

PEUGEOT E-TRAVELLER: Adapted to fulfil every need.

Appealing to a wide range of business and fleet users including those that offer professional passenger transport operators (hotels, shuttles, taxis, etc.), the new E-TRAVELLER is available in a variety of configurations with between five and nine seats, depending on the version, with a premium level of comfort. The Allure trim level offers a lounge configuration with four independent seats facing each other, with a luxurious finish and high levels of equipment including tri-zone air conditioning, and a black-out glass roof.

The new E-TRAVELLER is adaptable and practical with sliding and removable seats, shelves in row two, integrated sun blinds, and more. It is also perfect for outdoor activities thanks to Advanced Grip Control® with Hill Assist Descent Control, and an adjustable traction control system for use on low-grip surfaces with modes for sand, mud, and snow.

The new E-TRAVELLER features generous interior space with no compromise thanks to the batteries being located under the floor. Depending on the configuration, the new E-TRAVELLER can carry up to nine people with a boot volume of 1,500 litres, or five people and 3,000 litres, or even offer up to 4,900 litres of load volume with two or three people on board.

Building on these strengths, the new E-TRAVELLER goes one step further to offer a higher level of user-friendliness, safety and efficiency.

ALLURE: Fresh elegance

More than ever, when it comes to carrying passengers, the new E-TRAVELLER is a guarantee of elegant and comfortable mobility.

The E-TRAVELLER adopts the new look of the PEUGEOT range, with a new grille design featuring the brand's new emblem at its centre, as well as new full LED headlights, the iconic PEUGEOT three-claw signature, and a bumper optimised for protection and efficiency.

The digital instrument cluster and the large central touchscreen aid safety and practicality in everyday driving. For optimised comfort, a new heated steering wheel can be fitted as an option. There are more and larger storage compartments, notably on the upper part of the dashboard and on the centre console, and the dashboard also comes with the new e-Toggle gearshift which is compact and practical.

The interior style is enhanced with a new fabric upholstery or perforated leather for the seats, depending on the version, and new Liquid Palladium coloured trim on the side panels.

EMOTION: Technological developments for greater comfort and safety

The new equipment on the PEUGEOT E-TRAVELLER improves everyday comfort and safety for the driver and passengers.

A new 10-inch digital colour instrument cluster is fitted as standard on all new E-TRAVELLERs. It provides an optimised and customisable display of the essential information, including that of the navigation system and information relating to energy flow and recharging.

The new E-TRAVELLER comes with a 10-inch HD central touchscreen as standard for controlling the multimedia system and connected navigation. For total comfort, the ‘OK PEUGEOT’ voice assistant allows drivers to control the main infotainment functions without taking their eyes off the road.

Driver fatigue warning, traffic sign recognition, lane keeping assist, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, and speed limiter are all available on the E-TRAVELLER. It also benefits from a wide range of driver assistance systems which have been further enhanced on this new model with adaptive cruise control.

EXCELLENCE: More efficient and connected than ever

The new E-TRAVELLER is powered by a new more efficient electric motor offering maximum power of 100 kW (136 bhp) and maximum torque of 260 Nm, guaranteeing optimum performance from start-up. Three driving modes are available: Eco, to maximise range, Power, for maximum performance, and Normal, for the best compromise of both.

The new E-TRAVELLER is fitted with a 68kWh useable battery(75kWh gross) that now offers a range of up to 217 miles (WLTP combined cycle currently being certified). q

To optimise range, the E-TRAVELLER features a new regenerative braking system with three different levels using paddles located behind the steering wheel.

The new E-TRAVELLER is fitted with a 7.4kW onboard charger (with an 11 kW three-phase charger available as an option) and can also be charged at up to 100kW on a DC rapid charger. Estimated charging times are as follows:

• 100kW DC charger: 45 minutes (recharge from 0 to 80%).
• 11kW AC charger : full recharge with the 11kW onboard charger in 7 hours 30 minutes.
• 7.4kW AC charger: full charge with the 7.4kW onboard charger in 11 hours 20 minutes.

The latest-generation connectivity

The PEUGEOT i-Connect® system offers comprehensive and highly responsive connectivity thanks to wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto. The technological experience is complete with PEUGEOT i-Connect® Advanced, which is also equipped with TomTom connected navigation. System updates are carried out "over the air".

A wireless smartphone charger is now located on the centre console at the front of the new E-TRAVELLER. The new E-TRAVELLER features two USB-C sockets on the dashboard, two USB-C sockets in the second-row seats and two 12V sockets.

Using the MYPEUGEOT ® smartphone app, users can benefit from additional features and connected services. This includes access to a virtual maintenance log and the ability to send destinations to the navigation system remotely. Drivers can now also manage the central locking and activate headlights and horns remotely.

To enhance the EV ownership experience, the MYPEUGEOT® app also allows drivers to initiate or schedule thermal pre-conditioning and view, schedule, start or defer charging remotely.

With Vice President Kamala Harris having replaced President Biden on the Democratic ticket, her stances on key issues will be scrutinized by both parties and the nation’s voters.

She has a long record in politics: as district attorney of San Francisco, as attorney general of California, as a senator, as a presidential candidate and as vice president.

Here is an overview of where she stands.

Ms. Harris supports legislation that would protect the right to abortion nationally, as Roe v. Wade did before it was overturned in 2022, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

After the Dobbs ruling, she became central to the Biden campaign’s efforts to keep the spotlight on abortion, given that Mr. Biden — with his personal discomfort with abortion and his support for restrictions earlier in his career — was a flawed messenger. In March, she made what was believed to be the first official visit to an abortion clinic by a president or vice president.

She consistently supported abortion rights during her time in the Senate, including cosponsoring legislation that would have banned common state-level restrictions, like requiring doctors to perform specific tests or have hospital admitting privileges in order to provide abortions.

As a presidential candidate in 2019, she argued that states with a history of restricting abortion rights in violation of Roe should be subject to what is known as pre-clearance for new abortion laws — those laws would have to be federally approved before they could take effect. That proposal is not viable now that the Supreme Court has overturned Roe.

Climate change

Ms. Harris has supported the Biden administration’s climate efforts , including legislation that provided hundreds of billions of dollars in tax credits and rebates for renewable energy and electric vehicles.

“It is clear the clock is not just ticking, it is banging,” she said in a speech last year , referring to increasingly severe and frequent disasters spurred by climate change. “And that is why, one year ago, President Biden and I made the largest climate investment in America’s history.”

During her 2020 presidential campaign, she emphasized the need for environmental justice , a framework that calls for policies to address the adverse effects that climate change has on poor communities and people of color. She has emphasized that as vice president as well.

In 2019, Ms. Harris, then a senator, and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Democrat of New York, introduced legislation that would have evaluated environmental rules and laws by how they affected low-income communities. It would have also established an independent Office of Climate and Environmental Justice Accountability and created a “senior adviser on climate justice” within several federal agencies. In 2020, Ms. Harris introduced a more sweeping version of the bill. None of the legislation was passed.

Ms. Harris was tasked with leading the Biden administration’s efforts to secure voting rights legislation, a job she asked for . The legislation — which went through several iterations but was ultimately blocked in the Senate — would have countered voting restrictions in Republican-led states, limited gerrymandering and regulated campaign finance more strictly.

This year, she met with voting rights advocates and described a strategy that included creating a task force on threats to election workers and challenging state voting restrictions in court.

She has condemned former President Donald J. Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. In a speech in 2022 marking the anniversary of the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol, she said that day had showed “what our nation would look like if the forces who seek to dismantle our democracy are successful.” She added, “What was at stake then, and now, is the right to have our future decided the way the Constitution prescribes it: by we the people, all the people.”

Economic policy

In campaign events this year, Ms. Harris has promoted the Biden administration’s economic policies, including the infrastructure bill that Mr. Biden signed, funding for small businesses, a provision in the Inflation Reduction Act that capped the cost of insulin for people on Medicare and student debt forgiveness.

She indicated at an event in May that the administration’s policies to combat climate change would also bring economic benefits by creating jobs in the renewable energy industry. At another event , she promoted more than $100 million in Energy Department grants for auto parts manufacturers to pivot to electric vehicles, which she said would “help to keep our auto supply chains here in America.”

As a senator, she introduced legislation that would have provided a tax credit of up to $6,000 for middle- and low-income families, a proposal she emphasized during her presidential campaign as a way to address income inequality.

Immigration

One of Ms. Harris’s mandates as vice president has been to address the root causes of migration from Latin America, like poverty and violence in migrants’ home countries. Last year, she announced $950 million in pledges from private companies to support Central American communities. Similar commitments made previously totaled about $3 billion.

In 2021, she visited the U.S.-Mexico border and said : “This issue cannot be reduced to a political issue. We’re talking about children, we’re talking about families, we are talking about suffering.”

More recently, she backed a bipartisan border security deal that Mr. Biden endorsed but Mr. Trump, by urging Republican lawmakers to kill it , effectively torpedoed. The legislation would have closed the border if crossings reached a set threshold, and it would have funded thousands of new border security agents and asylum officers. “We are very clear, and I think most Americans are clear, that we have a broken immigration system and we need to fix it,” Ms. Harris said in March .

Israel and Gaza

Ms. Harris called in March for an “immediate cease-fire” in Gaza and described the situation there as a “humanitarian catastrophe.” She said that “the threat Hamas poses to the people of Israel must be eliminated” but also that “too many innocent Palestinians have been killed.”

In an interview later that month , she emphasized her opposition to an Israeli invasion of Rafah, the city in southern Gaza to which more than a million people had fled. “I have studied the maps,” she said. “There’s nowhere for those folks to go, and we’re looking at about 1.5 million people in Rafah who are there because they were told to go there, most of them.”

She has said on multiple occasions that she supports a two-state solution.

Racial justice

Racial justice was a theme of Ms. Harris’s presidential campaign. In a memorable debate exchange in 2019 , she denounced Mr. Biden’s past work with segregationist senators and opposition to school busing mandates.

She has called for ending mandatory minimum sentences, cash bail and the death penalty, which disproportionately affect people of color.

Amid the protests that followed the police killing of George Floyd in 2020, she was one of the senators who introduced the Justice in Policing Act, which would have made it easier to prosecute police officers, created a national registry of police misconduct and required officers to complete training on racial profiling. It was not passed.

Her record as a prosecutor also came into play during her presidential campaign. Critics noted that as attorney general of California, she had generally avoided stepping in to investigate police killings.

I Test Blenders for a Living. Here's What I Think of Vitamix's New Line.

We put two blenders from the new Vitamix Ascent X Series to the test to see how they stack up to other Vitamix models.

What's unique about the Vitamix Ascent X Series?

How we tested, overall findings, how does the ascent x series compare to other vitamix blenders we've tested, the bottom line: is the vitamix ascent x series worth it, why trust us.

As an analyst in the Kitchen Appliances and Innovation Lab in the Good Housekeeping Institute , I've tested almost 50 full-sized blenders and personal blenders in the last three years , including almost 10 Vitamix blenders . So when Vitamix blenders recently announced that they would be "launching its most advanced product line ever, the new Ascent X Series," I was more than intrigued to get my hands on a model.

The new Vitamix Ascent X Series includes four blenders: X2, X3, X4 and X5. Over the last few weeks, our team tested out the X2 and X5 models in our Lab. We made strawberry kale smoothies, margaritas, broccoli-leek soup, vanilla milkshakes and peanut butter, and put the cleaning function to the test.

When testing this new line, we decided to focus on two models: the most affordable option, the Ascent X2, priced at $549.95, and the feature-rich Ascent X5, which retails for $749.95.

Vitamix Ascent X2

This blender, along with all of the other models in this line, features recipe programs, a self-cleaning program, a new 48-ounce container with soft-grip handle, built-in wireless connectivity, variable speed control, pulse and digital timer.

While all Vitamix blenders come with tampers (a long plastic tool that helps process thick and frozen ingredients by pushing them down into the blender blades), the Ascent X series comes with a tamper holder on the side of the blender base for easy storage. The user interface of this model is smooth with a dial in the center and two switches on either side.

You can clearly see the soup, frozen dessert, smoothie, cleaning programs and variable speed control on the interface without even having to turn on the blender. Once turned on, you can see the timer lit up boldly at the top of the interface.

Vitamix Ascent X5

Along with the Ascent X4 , this model includes technology that alerts you to use your tamper during thicker blends and when your blender is overheating; it alerts you with an icon that appears on the digital interface. There is also a +15 seconds button and an included recipe booklet.

This model in particular features smoothie, frozen dessert, soup, dips and spreads, frozen cocktail, smoothie bowl, frappé, nut butter, non-dairy milk, spice grinding and cleaning programs, offering a vast assortment of programs for a variety of beverages and dishes. It features a smooth user interface with a single dial in the center and once the blender is turned on you can rotate the dial to show you the various programs to choose from.

In the Good Housekeeping Institute Kitchen Appliances and Innovation Lab, we’ve tested more than 100 blenders over the past decade. When we test blenders in our Lab, we follow the same standardized recipes and testing procedures to see how they stand out among the rest. When it came to testing out the Vitamix Ascent series we followed suit.

• Ease of use and cleaning tests: When testing, we rated the helpfulness of the owner’s manual and evaluated how easy each model is to assemble, use and clean. We especially put the cleaning program to work when blending peanut butter and found it truly help a lot when removing stuck-on nut butter. We also considered how noisy each Vitamix was while operating it.

Both the Vitamix Ascent X2 and X5 received very similar testing scores, actually receiving almost the same score in performance, with the x5's score being very slightly higher. They both produced high scoring, silky smooth margaritas and creamy smoothies. The X5 performed slightly better on blending up soup and a milkshake, while the x2 performed slightly better on blending peanut butter.

We found both of the blenders' control panels easy to navigate and appreciated the preset programs. The X2 moved around the counter during tougher blends because it doesn't have suction cups on the bottom and we had to use the X5's manual to determine what each preset was (you are only shown images).

For both blenders, we appreciated the holder for the tamper, but found the soft-grip handle of each blender jar to fall off often while testing. We didn't find the new smaller size of blender jar to be too small, it was a good size for blending up everything from soup to smoothies and overall both blenders tested very well.

Currently, our top pick for the best overall blender is the Vitamix A3500 Ascent Series Smart Blender , which continues to impress us with its ability to break down even the toughest of ingredients in Lab testing. While these two new blenders from the Ascent X series are high performing blenders, we still think the Vitamix A3500 performs slightly better.

We do, however, think the X2 and X5 outperformed many other Vitamix blenders and competitor blenders we've tested, in both performance and ease of use. We were particularly impressed with the innovation and design of the Ascent Series, which includes features such as alerts for overheating or when the tamper is needed, and the helpful addition of tamper storage.

If you've been wanting to buy a Vitamix blender — or you're not thrilled with your current one and want an upgrade — we think the Ascent X Series blenders are definitely worth considering. But if you're already happy with your blender and how it works, there's no need to rush out and get a new one.

That said, if you do decide to go for an Ascent, you really can't go wrong with any of the models. The main reason to pick the X4 or X5 over the X2 or X3 is if you want extra presets or a bit more help navigating the blender. Otherwise, we found that both the budget-friendly and top-of-the-line models deliver solid performance.

Commuting nightmare in New Jersey following accidents, train problems

WEEHAWKEN, New Jersey (WABC) -- A commuting nightmare unfolded in New Jersey on Tuesday morning following multiple accidents on the roads and power problems on the rails.

It took nearly two hours for cars to get through the Lincoln Tunnel after a motorcycle accident at 4 a.m. A stalled bus blocked another tube and a third tube was closed for repairs. The backups stretched for miles in every direction. It was so bad, some riders actually gave up and fled their buses in disgust.

New Jersey Transit started diverting buses to Secaucus, so riders could board trains. And that's when an entirely unrelated power outage coincidentally shut down their rail lines into and out of Penn Station.

Shortly before 10 a.m., all rail service into Penn Station New York was suspended due to a "brief power outage" from its substation in the North Bergen area, according to Amtrak. Earlier reports blamed the outage on overhead wires in the tunnel, but that was not the case.

Power was restored about a half-hour later, but the delays just added to a morning of discontent for commuters.

It all unfolded after multiple accidents at the Lincoln Tunnel earlier in the morning triggered major delays on the highways leading into New York City.

Outside the tunnel, lanes were out in both directions of Route 3 in East Rutherford. A car overturned off the eastbound lanes, while westbound lanes were closed by an accident involving an ambulance.

At one point delays were estimated to be more than 120 minutes to get into New York City, but one driver said it took him four hours to get into the city from Wayne, New Jersey, when it usually only takes him 25 minutes.

Video showed commuters jumping out of buses and dangerously crossing a roadway in Secaucus as traffic heading into the tunnel built up.

NJ Transit cross-honored bus tickets as a result of traffic at the Lincoln Tunnel. Buses were rerouted to Secaucus Junction and Newark Penn Station.

Riders, forced to abandon their rush hour trains poured out onto the platforms then piled into the terminal. Thousands of rail commuters-and bus commuters-in one place, were left to find another way to Manhattan.

Some took trains headed to the PATH station in Hoboken. Others, who raced to the Hudson River ferry docks, had long waits.

But no matter how commuters tried to cross the Hudson River on Tuesday morning, it was wrong.

"It was very much standing room only and the whole train-everyone-was packed," one commuter said.

"I'm probably gonna turn around and go home, if I'm being honest. Because it's going on an hour and a half and there's eight billion people trying to get on this train," another commuter said.

Timeline of events

3:50 a.m., Motorcycle crash westbound inside Lincoln Tunnel center tube -- north tube was already closed for construction.

5:30 a.m. NYPD had a pursuit into the north tube of the Lincoln tunnel that briefly delayed reopening.

6:15 a.m., Port Authority concludes north tube construction early.

6:50 a.m. An NJ Transit bus traveling through the south tube became disabled but was quickly towed out of the tunnel in less than 10 minutes.

7 a.m., Accidents on Route 3 in eastbound and westbound lanes in East Rutherford also cause delays.

9 a.m. NJ Transit 30 minute rail delays due to congestion.

9:45 a.m. NJ Transit and Amtrak suspend trains into Penn Station New York due to unrelated power outage.

10:15 a.m. Amtrak restores power, NJ Transit and Amtrak trains resume rail service with 60 minute delays.

Western-themed buses will connect Fort Worth Stockyards to downtown

A new western-themed bus line will connect two of the most popular destinations in Fort Worth — the Stockyards and downtown.

Regional transit provider Trinity Metro will launch the Orange Line on Sunday. Buses will run every 15 minutes between downtown and the resurgent Stockyards , with stops at nearby train stations and the Historic Northside. Service will run daily between 5 a.m. and 1 a.m.

City leaders say the new buses could help strengthen the city’s tourism. In 2023, Fort Worth drew nearly 11 million visitors, with downtown and the Stockyards being two of the main attractions.

The exterior of the orange buses depict cowboys, country western dancers, cattle and horses, with the phrase “Let’s ride.” Inside, the buses have brown faux-leather and cowhide seats and vinyl ceilings with murals of cloud-filled skies. Texas artist Merri Ellen Kase created the artwork on the buses.

The buses will have an “enhanced onboard experience with features not typically seen on public transit,” according to a news release from Trinity Metro.

Rich Andreski, president and CEO of Trinity Metro, said in the release the Orange Line is more than a public transportation route, calling it a “bold step” for the city’s future.

“By linking the city’s world-class entertainment and business districts, we’re not only enhancing access for the millions of visitors who come here each year, but also creating a dynamic draw for our residents and businesses who call Fort Worth home,” Andreski said.

The Stockyards has undergone a transformation in recent years, with the opening of the trendy Mule Alley and cowboy-chic Hotel Drover, recognized this month by Michelin . Fort Worth is planning to pour in more than $600 million over the next several years to add more commercial space, hotel rooms, housing and additional parking.

Trinity Metro developed the Orange Line in partnership with Visit Fort Worth, Fort Worth Stockyards and downtown business leaders, according to the release.

Orange Line rides will be free through Oct. 31. After that, a one-way fare will be $2 or a day pass will be $4.
