This is a very easy way, the road is an asphalt road and some small off roads for those who want to be adventurous (off road). It takes about 5km for you to come from our office after watching Xuan Huong Lake as well as ancient villas of Da Lat to Robin Hill (1690) where you can see the whole of Dalat from the hill. It is about 4km for you to get to the hard road where you will overcome yourself as well as want to conquer the path of "suffering". Truc Lam Monastery and Tuyen Lam lakes where you can relax and release the heat after a long journey and a picnic lunch will help you regain energy to prepare for the journey. the next.     You are a person who loves adventure and wants to challenge yourself ~ this is no doubt! Your legs will feel like burning after the trip to conquer the North of Dalat.

   Our trips will go through vegetable farms, flowers, forests, mountains. We will go along picturesque landscapes, beautiful scenery through farms, forest trails, where we will start the off-road journey,

    The road was firstly wide and invited everyone to join. Relax and peaceful. By then it would be a different path because of the narrow trail with tree roots and other interesting obstacles. Be ready to balance your bicycle and other equipment. We still have not had anyone ride the entire route without going on a Mountain Bike, although it can be done as one of our guides will assist you.

     We will continue to ride through the roads, hills, and slopes and you will have a good view of the vegetable and flower farms, the surrounding mountains along the way, including the highest mountain in the area, Lang Biang (2169 m) and finish the off-road in the famous Valley of Love.

       This trip will probably be introduced to you when you want to feel the mountain bike in Dalat. The total distance of the ride is about 30 km and it is considered the easiest of our terrain bike trips. Scenic hills, flower villages, vegetable gardens or Dankia Lake and picturesque small farms dot the valleys where you ride through the trails. This route will go around the back of Lang Biang Mountain and is an area recently merged into the newest National Park in Vietnam (Bidoup - Nuiba). The trail goes through one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Dalat, named 'Tham Tham' by local ethnic tribes. You can swim here to relieve heat from your body after a long journey before returning to Da Lat.

You are in hill country ~ there is no doubt about it! Your legs will feel the burn after this ride North of Dalat. Breathtaking views of fields, forests and mountains. Semi-technical and strenuous over dirt and paved roads.

Tour itinerary:

At 8.30am , meeting your tour guide at  hotel in Da Lat . We ride along picturesque scenic roads through farms to the forest paths where we start our off-road journey.

The first section of trail is over Victory Lake and into forest paths. The initial path is wide and inviting, very relaxing and quiet. But hold onto your helmets because the trail narrows, becomes somewhat technical with roots and other fun obstructions abounding.

Be ready to ride the roller coaster that is in front of you. It is fine to get off and walk your bike, most everyone does.

We have yet to have anyone ride the entire long North of Dalat  route without walking their bicycle through some part of it, though it can be done and has by one of our guides.

Minority farmers usually get a kick out of seeing you trying to navigate

Through the area ‘roads’. Get ready to wave as they smile and stare at you!

If you choose to make it a long ride, you will be treated to a picnic lunch of fresh veggies and fruits, baguettes with an assortment of toppings and a French-style pastry to satisfy your sweet tooth. 

Da Lat  is known as the vegetable garden of Vietnam and lunch offers you a chance to try some of Dalat’s tasty produce. Lunch is usually held around the V alley of Love , depending on your speed and appetite.

After lunch we continue to ride through paths, and you will have nice views of the surrounding mountains along the way, including the highest mountain in the area LangBiang and ends the off road section at the well-known Valley of Love.

The Da Lat - Nha Trang along Khanh Vinh Pass is probably familiar to those who travel. But travel by bike, Have you try it? Come to Nha Trang on our bike to have the experience without the usual means of travel.

To commence the journey down Nha Trang by bike, you will be transported by our car with a 25km long and take about 45 minutes north of Da Lat city, on the road. passing one of the natural national parks in Vietnam, that is Bidoup Nui Ba National Park. You will admire the magnificent scenery of the mountain bike path as well as move down 30km to the coast.

The first of bicycling road is passing through the vast forests and bending down the hill with beautiful views of the fields, the countryside, the villages of ethnic minorities and go Across Nui Ba. The last 3km crossing the highest peak before a few slopes are quite high. With a 30-kilometer mountain road, the downhill path will continue in succession, the beautiful scenery of waterfalls will appear on the road as well as the breathtaking scenery below.

After crossing the pass, you will have a picnic near a river. and then keep going un till 11.30 am. Our car will take you to a restaurant for lunch.The section of riding after lunch offers an amazing sampling of living rural countryside in Vietnam, passing some small farms and villages. This section of riding can be challenging as the hills bend left and right continuously going down from 2000 m above the sea level. an Average riding distance is approximately 65 kilometers with other options to ride more or less. The support vehicle follows you anytime by our riders and it is carrying luggage and provisions along the way.

Cycling Dalat - Central highlands - Ho Chi Minh Trails - Hoi An

Day 1 Dalat - Lak Lake

Be met Vietnam Cycling Tours's team at your hotel: at 7:00 am for a transfer to the northwest -rural village of Dalat. Begins the morning ride 17km downhill, rolling hills descending to Ta Nung, keep cycling towards Nam Banwhere we break to taste weasel coffee and crickets farms, before a 2 hours transfer to Deo Chuoi-Lieng So Rong Pass. Have lunch before riding downhill to the remote villages through jungle forests, farmlands, and sleepy valleys. Cross the river, look over floating villages and fish farmings. Then we speed up the Nam Kar Pass and undulate as rolling hills, passing small villages where locals raise cows, goats, and buffalos along the villages until we enjoy downhill the Lak Lake. Take canoe to the Lak Tented Camp resort.

Day 2 Lak Lake - Buon Me Thuot

Ban Me Thuot is well-known in coffee plantations and is Trung Nguyen's famous coffee bean. Trung Nguyen is a Vietnamese business group producing, processing, and distributing coffee. Trung Nguyen is the largest domestic coffee brand in Vietnam and exports its products to more than 60 countries, including major markets such as G7 countries. We have no excuse to taste coffee as much as possible here in Ban Me Thuot.

We will start today's ride a bit late and spend more time enjoying views of Lak Lake, walking along the Lake, and experiencing the life of a fisherman there. Enjoy breakfast and coffee at the Lake, take the canoe back to the dock, and get ready bike ride to Ban Me Thuot. We ride through Jun and Lieng villages and take a ferry to scenic farmland where Ethic M'Nong is cultivating and raising cows. It's an effortless ride, primarily flat with undulating countryside roads, passing lakes, tiny hamlets, and green pepper plantations to the outskirts of Ban Me Thuot. We get on vehicle support to the city center in 20 minutes. Check-in at the hotel and have dinner in town.

Day 3 Buon Me Thuot -Buon Ho - Pleiku

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and be ready to explore highland villagers' life and spectacular scenery on rewinding roads up and down the vast coffee, tea, and green chili pepper plantations along with Ethnic villages. There will be two sections for us to venture into the hamlets. 

Begin today's adventure with a vehicle transfer to Buon Ho's countryside, and we will get more dirt because many routes lead you on paths and trails to remote villages of Cu Pon and to Ea H’Leo. It's about 40km in the morning, with serious hills. Do not worry! The support vehicles will go on and support us on bike routes. The afternoon gives you 25 km of riding on the gentle and undulating track, rubber plantation, passing small local markets, and red soil farmland where avocados and bananas are well grown. Enjoy views of beautiful rural villages, and immerse yourself in highland villagers' culture.

Day 4 Pleiku - Sea Lake - Kon Klor, Ba Na village - Ngoc Hoi

From Pleiku to Ngoc Hoi is about 120km, and it divides the ride has two sections. In the morning, we visit the sea lake, and people live around. In the afternoon, ride to Kon K'tu village Village, a scenic suspension bridge, and a traditional wooden church. The rest of the day is to have to Ngoc Hoi town.

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and briefly transfer to a rural village where we ride 20 km to explore the sea lake and enjoy the scenery of the lake and lush hill farms of fruits, rice paddies, and tea plantations before we take 1-hour transfer to Kon Tum. We stop at Rong Kon Ro Wang House and visit it before we bike on the suspension bridge to visit Ba Na community at Kon Ko Tu village, Barna and Jarai Ethics. It is a great way to see local life, passing friendly villagers and farmland and riding along Dak Bia River to Kon Ko Tu's oldest villages. We will stop at Rong House, Kon Klor communal house built with local materials; timber, bamboo, and thatches. We continue cycling, cross another bridge to the city, and visit the massive traditional wooden church in central highland Vietnam. Break for lunch in town and prepare for the fantastic ride in the afternoon.

Following lunch, we'll transfer to the road DT675, quiet roads along the lake, small ethnic villages, amazing landscapes, and peaceful mountains. For the last parts of the day, we stay on smooth tracks that undulate through verdant vegetation, coffee plantations, rolling hills, and little villages, cross the river on a narrow suspension bridge, and end up the afternoon's ride at old Phuong Hoang Airport (Phoenix airport). Have a short transfer to Hoc Hoi township

Day 5 Ngoc Hoi - Phuoc Son

Today we ride almost on the road of Ho Chi Minh- the former Ho Chi Minh trails. The quiet Po Ko River road offers scenic views, lush green forest jungles, and little hamlets. We race on hilly roads, not flat all but gentle, passing many small towns, rolling little hills, and rustic rice paddies to Dak Giel. It's 40km in the morning.

Dak Giel was known as the Prison during Indochina War, and many Viet Minh were kept for many years. We break for lunch in town and hop on a support vehicle driving to the peak of Lo xo -Springs Pass. Avoid speeding up the serious hills and save time for the fabulous downhill ride to Phuoc Son in the afternoon. We ride down the Lo Xo Pass and enjoy breathtaking scenery and mountainous landscapes along the quiet road. We continue biking to Phuoc Son on the road more down than up.

Day 6 Phuoc Son - Hoi An

We'll choose the best route to Hoi An, where the scenery and landscapes are super. Have a leisurely breakfast, check out, and depart at 8:00 am, bike through the town, turn right, and keep biking to cross the calm river and follow road 14E to Hoi An Seaside Ancient town. The road along the lake, lush farmlands, sleepy villages, and jungles, then drops into lively villages along the rivers, dams, and hydropower stations, admire waterfalls along the way. We end up the ride here at Hiep Duc with a bit late lunch in town and rest on the support vehicle to Hoi An in the late afternoon.

Cycling & Mountain biking in Dalat – 5 best routes

Cycling & mountain biking in Dalat is one of the best ways to discover the stunning hills and forest areas. Despite the fact that you can find similar nature areas throughout the Central Highlands and you also have many mountains in the north of the country, Dalat is actually one of the only places where you can go mountain biking in Vietnam. This is because cycling, and especially mountain biking, is not (yet) very popular in Vietnam.

Dalat though, has grown as the adventure capital of the country, so everything is way more developed here in terms of outdoor activities than at many other destinations. In addition to beautiful bicycle and mountain bike routes, you can also go kayaking, whitewater rafting and even canyoning.

Check the weather before you go cycling or mountain biking in Dalat. Especially during the rainy season between April and October. The Dalat area consists of many hills and mountains. During the rainy season, biking trails can become slippery and even land slides can occur.

Choose the right trail

You can either go cycling or mountain biking in Dalat. There are also different levels. Do you wish for an adventurous day of mountain biking through the hills of Dalat, or rather enjoy a more peaceful route with sightseeing on the way.

What to bring

Tour guides will take care of the bikes and necessary (safety) equipment. It is recommended to bring a light backpack with you and include rain- and sun protection. Tours are including water and lunch, but it might me smart to take an extra snack for energy and drink with you.

Mountain biking routes in Dalat

The Crazy 8 trail is the best for mountain biking in Dalat. It has the most amazing trails. Lots of hills, great forest roads, amazing single track downhill riding and stunning views on the way, through pine forest and past farms and lakes. The complete distance of this mountain bike trail is 37. The route goes from wider dirt tracks to more technical single tracks.

Phoenix Hill

Phoenix Hill is less challenging compared with Crazy 8, but has everything you expect when you go mountain biking in Dalat. This includes nice forest trails and country roads. During the trail you will bike past a few lakes, farms, plantations and go trough countryside and forest. There is time to stop on the way at a local pagoda or to cool down with a swim in the lake. It is a great combination of sightseeing, enjoying nature and mountain biking in Dalat.

Cycling routes in Dalat

Dalat to nha trang.

The route from Dalat to Nha Trang is so beautiful that it is worth doing it by bike or (on the back of) the motorcycle. The complete distance between these two cities is 135 kilometers, of which a small part is covered by car. The best part, however, is that most of the route is downhill. So it is physically not the most difficult trip.

The route down is spectacular. You will start in the forests of Dalat and you will finish on the beautiful coast of Nha Trang. This transition from the cool forest to the hot coastal area is great to experience. Along the way you drive through a beautiful green area with small waterfalls.

During a tour there is a car available to guide you if it becomes too much and your luggage is also immediately taken, so that you can continue your tour through Vietnam from Nha Trang further up north.

Dalat to Mui Ne

A similar route is from Dalat to the coastal town of Mui Ne, which is further south. This can be a good option if you are traveling from Dalat to Ho Chi Minh City. The cycling route brings you through jungle forested valleys and small villages of minorities and end at the beautiful beaches below. There is more than 900 meter of descent and the complete route that you bike is just over 70 kilometer.

Countryside cycling

Vietnam – Getting to know Dalat

‘Le Petit Paris’, ‘City of Eternal Spring’, ‘the Jewel of the Central Highlands’… call it what you will, Dalat is very pleasant place to spend a few days cooling down and enjoying a very different side of Vietnam. The town and its surrounding highlands are famous throughout Vietnam for pine forests, waterfalls, flowers and vegetables, and Dalat itself is the honeymoon destination of choice for Vietnamese newlyweds.

Dalat was originally established at the end of the 19th century as a hill station for Ho Chi Minh City’s European population, thanks to a French doctor, Dr Alexandre Yersin, who suggested establishing a health resort here in 1893. The therapeutic properties of the region’s temperate climate, and surrounding countryside with its seemingly endless supply of tiger, elephant and deer, allowed heat-stricken Colonial visitors to escape the hot plains and indulge the then popular pasttime of big-game hunting.

What to do in Dalat

The game may now be long gone, but there is still plenty to see in the town. There’s an attractive collection of French Colonial architecture, including timber-framed farmhouses and villas, several restored Colonial-era hotels, a cathedral, and a fine Art Deco railway station.

In the surrounding central highlands, there are many minority hill-tribe groups. While they are perhaps not as colourful as those found in the northern mountains, they are diverse, and maintain a range of fascinating cultural traditions.

  this dalat biking tour takes you from the highland of dalat to the beautiful beaches of nha trang city just in one day. this is probably the best long biking trip we have in our tour programs.,  what are the grade and distance.

  The total distance from Dalat to Nha Trang is 130km, while the biking distance is 70km. 

  What's going on?

  Our support vehicle picks you up at your hotel around 7:30 am then transports you and the bicycle to Lac Duong town ( 50km from Dalat ).

  You will have two big uphill ( 4 - 5 km ) and one long downhill (32 km) from 1700m high to sea level. 

  The rest of the bike ride is small up, downhill, and 10km flat in the lowland.

 What will you see?

  Pine forest and the jungle, beautiful view of flower farm and coffee plantation, Nui Ba mountain, some minority villages, and the picturesque Khanh Vinh Pass with the view of some small waterfalls, mountains, and valley.

 What should you bring?

   All of your luggage because you won't stay in Dalat anymore.
