Billie Eilish has doubled the concerts for the Australian leg of Happier Than Ever world tour after fans swamped the ticket pre-sale for her much-anticipated return in September next year.
The American pop superstar initially announced a FOMO-inducing four arena concerts.
But the fan frenzy which greeted the pre-sale on Monday immediately triggered additional shows.
At this stage, the tour run she will kick off the Australian leg of the tour at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on September 13 and 14, Brisbane Entertainment Centre, September 17 and 18, Melbourne’s Rod Laver Arena on September 22 and 23, and Perth’s RAC Arena on September 29 and 30.
Eilish has commanded world attention in recent weeks, starring as the belle of the Met Ball and shaking hands with the Royal Family at the premiere of the latest James Bond film No Time To Die as its theme song singer.
Eilish has continued to own the global charts since releasing her made-in-lockdown second album Happier Than Ever in July, with the record debuting at No. 1 everywhere.
She returned to the live stage in September with a series of big festival appearances and was also just announced as the youngest-ever headliner for the mammoth Glastonbury Festival in 2022.
The 19-year-old artist who has been hailed the sound of her generation has been using her stage to not only help fans shake off the lockdown blues but highlight social causes.
At this week’s performance at the Austin City Limits festival, she told Texan fans she almost didn’t want to play the gig because of the state’s recent controversial abortion laws.
More Coverage
On the Happier Than Ever tour she will focus on climate action with the Billie Eilish Action Village at each show.
She has worked with sustainability partner REVERB to reduce the tour’s environmental footprint and support projects which eliminate greenhouse gases.
For Australian fans, the Telstra pre-sale launches on Monday with general tickets available Ticketek on October 15.

Billie Eilish Just Announced A Huge Aussie Tour For 2022 And We’re Truly Happier Than Ever
Courtney Fry
Billie Eilish is set to hit Australia and New Zealand over September 2022, spending the most of the month touring her latest offering, Happier Than Ever . Honestly this news is making me happier than ever right now. An all ages arena tour ? After everything we’ve been through? A goddamn blessing.
View this post on Instagram A post shared by BILLIE EILISH (@billieeilish)
Kicking off on September 8th in Auckland, Billie is set to skip across the pond and return to Sydney (and its hit-inspiring traffic light sounds ) for the first time since her Groovin’ The Moo tour and sideshows back in 2019.
From there, she’s set to hit arenas in Brisbane and Melbourne, before winding things up at RAC Arena in Perth on September 29. Our deepest condolences to Adelaide this time around, but surely state borders will be open by September next year so you all can come join the rest of us at one of these monster gigs.
Tickets for the whole Billie Eilish tour go on sale from Friday, October 15 at different times thanks to daylight savings time, and there’s a cheeky presale happening from Monday, October 11. That’s literally next week, so make sure you’ve alerted your group chat with ample time to organise a plan of attack for nabbing tickets.
This is a tour that’s absolutely going to sell like hotcakes – and with her American, UK, and Europe shows selling out immediately, it’s high time you prepare your ticket-buying/mouse-clicking fingers ahead of time.
It’s been a while since we’ve had to use them, so get ready to move quick to score yourself a seat at one of these ‘yuge Billie Eilish gigs.
Check out the whole tour information below, and I can’t believe I’m FINALLY saying this but I’ll see ya front left.

Updated: Billie Eilish announces 2022 Australian tour
- X (formerly Twitter)
Book in an evening with Billie Eilish! She's back on Aussie shores in September, 2022.
The 19-year-old superstar and her brother/producer FINNEAS are making their fourth trip Down Under, headlining all ages arena shows around the country as part of a world tour behind her candid, complex second album Happier Than Ever.
Update: Additional tickets have become available for all shows, and Billie has added two very special guests: Dora Jar and Sampa The Great, sharing support duties across the tour (check the dates below).
Sampa will be showcasing the AfroFuturist material from As Above, So Below - the follow-up to the Zambian-born, Botswana-raised rapper's J Award and ARIA winning debut album The Return. We've already been vibing on pre-release singles like 'Bona' , the Denzel Curry-assisted 'Lane' and Zamrock-inspired 'Never Forget' .
Dora Jar is a 24-year-old Polish-American artist who's already opened for Billie Eilish on several international dates (check out her new single 'Bumblebee' ).
“It’s just gonna be crazy. It’s gonna be jumping and screaming and getting low,” Billie says of the upcoming shows. “It’s gonna be so much fun. I cannot wait.” Us either!

Watch Billie talk about how she prepares for a live show, what songs pop on stage, and that time she sampled an Australian pedestrian crossing for 'bad guy'.

Billie has renewed her partnership with sustainability org REVERB to make these Australian shows climate positive – “eliminating significantly more emissions than the tour creates.” Fans can also attend Billie Eilish Action Village stations at each date, focussing on climate action and climate justice opportunities.
Billie made a welcome return to the post-pandemic live stage last September, proving she's capable of carving intimate, ballad-y moments with enormous crowds as much as whipping them into a frenzy with her inventively dark bops.
She’s been performing at overseas festivals, including Coachella , Austin City Limits, Governors Ball, and Global Citizen, where she joined Coldplay for their performance of 'Fix You' . Having had a taste of the Happier Than Ever era, we’re keen to experience how Billie has levelled up her stage game since her last visit back in 2019, which the triple j live music team captured for a very loud Live At The Wireless.
It’s safe to say that Billie Eilish has already secured her spot as one of the most important artists of her generation - the kind of deeply influential pop culture icon who also happens to boast record-breaking stats.
She's got over 1.6 billion streams in Australia alone, and her blockbuster debut album WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO? made history in triple j’s Hottest 100 and at the Grammys .
Her latest milestone? Becoming the youngest ever solo artist to headline UK’s Glastonbury Festival .
It’s Billie’s world, we’re just living in it.

When Billie Eilish sings, “I’ll love you ’til the day that I die” on “Birds of a Feather,” that deadline also includes the afterlife.
In the Hit Me Hard and Soft single’s new Aidan Zamiri-directed music video that arrived Friday (Sept. 27), the 22-year-old pop star sits alone in an abandoned office building, smiling to herself as the invisible ghost of a loved one jerks her around, pulls on her chair and drags her across the floor. “I don’t know what I’m crying for/ I don’t think I could love you more,” she sings. “It might not be long, but baby, I/ I’ll love you ’til the day that I die.”
