Went to the most fun pizza tour here! We were a group of 8 people who all loved pizza. Liv was the best tour guide. We went to 3 different pizza spots: Made in NYC, L'industrie, and Daddies. Made in NYC was the coolest pizza place with such an eccentric NYC vibe, the graffiti on the floor is not to miss. L'industrie has been on my bucket list forEVER! The lines are always miles long so it was such a nice perk to be able to skip the line. Daddies is great too, cool sit down Italian spot with an amazing Diablo pizza, spicy peppers with the chewiest crust! Highly recommend!!! I'm also on Instagram: alice.likes.food

Thanks so much for coming out - you are the winner for best dressed guest of 2023!!!
An NYC must-do - The group dynamic on this tour was as warm and inviting as a fresh slice straight out of the oven. Each stop brought not only a new flavor to savor but also sparked lively discussions and exchanges amongst us.

Thanks Arjun! Gotta get you out on all the tours :)
As an Italian, I have naturally high standards when it comes to pizza (yes, the stereotype holds true in my case). Throughout the tour, I thoroughly enjoyed trying the various pizza styles, and surprisingly, my favorite turned out to be the Chicago-style thin crust. Beyond the flavors, the tour was both enjoyable and informative, teaching me new things about pizza and NYC that I can proudly share at future trivia nights. Jack, our guide, was truly impressive - his passion and extensive knowledge about pizza were remarkable. Additionally, I appreciate how the tour emphasizes local pizza spots and smaller businesses. I'll definitely take the tour again, but I'll pass on using the pineapple-on-pizza sticker as it goes against my true Italian nature ;)

New York’s ‘Bob’s Pizza Tour’ Launches in Baltimore
Bob’s Pizza Tour, a pizza tour company that started in New York City in 2019, is now doing tours in Baltimore. Bob Hanlon, founder of Bob’s Pizza Tour, relocated to Baltimore last year and spent recent months getting more familiar with the pizza scene in Baltimore.
The pizza tours, during which attendees walk to different pizza venues within one neighborhood, take place on Saturdays or Sundays. Bob’s Pizza Tour is offering separate tours in Hampden, around Patterson Park, in South Baltimore, and around Harbor East. There will be one tour for each area a month as the company gets started in Baltimore.
The first tour in Baltimore was this past Saturday in Hampden and the Patterson Park tour is scheduled to follow on February 19th. The first South Baltimore tour will take place on Sunday, February 26th at 1pm.
Hanlon is looking to include pizzerias such as Pizza di Joey, Barfly’s, Hersh’s, and Diamondback Brewing Company on the South Baltimore tour.
The Hampden tour featured Paulie Gee’s Hampden and Arthouse for pizza, and Dangerously Delicious Pies for dessert pies. The Patterson Park tour will go to Matthew’s Pizza, Verde, and Johnny Rad’s Pizzeria Tavern. Hanlon hopes to inlcude places like Joe Benny’s and Harbor East Deli on the Harbor East tour.
Tours still take place in three locations in Manhattan, New York.
“As someone who relocated from New York City down to Hampden, they are definitely two different pizza cities. There are certainly not as many pizzerias in Baltimore as New York, but there is a lot to try,” said Hanlon. “It’s great that there’s history here. We have places like Matthew’s that have been around for many decades and generations and continue to make amazing pies that people love to go out and try.”
“Recently we got new places like Underground Pizza which opened up during the pandemic. It really exploded onto the scene and was able to quickly expand into Towson and Silver Spring. Then you have Paulie Gee’s in Hampden which has been around a few years and continues to bring new offerings including a slice offering to accommodate the lunch crowd in the neighborhood,” said Hanlon.
“Across the board there a lot of great places and different styles of pizza. New York-Style, Neapolitan, Detroit-style pizza, pan pies, anything and everything you can imagine in the pizza world, it’s happening in Baltimore,” he continued. “With the pizza tours, I’m really excited to be able to get people out of their house and their comfort zone, and take them to new places they haven’t been to before as they try new pizzas and really expand their palate.”
Tours cost $60 per person and cover the pizza. Guests can buy their own alcoholic beverages or soft drinks separately.
During the tours, Hanlon gives history and pizza baking details at all the places and asks guests to rank the pizzas.
The first rule of the tour is “phones eat first.” Hanlon encourages people to post their pictures to social media, which has led to a large Instagram following for Bob’s Pizza Tour of more than 38,000.
“It’s basically a bar crawl, but for pizza,” said Hanlon. “There’s no better way in my opinion to experience a city than by trying the food. And pizza, in my humble opinion, is the best food to eat.”
“I’m excited to continue to meet a lot of new Baltimore friends and take them out on a really awesome afternoon or evening in the city,” said Hanlon.

Take a tour for the Charm City's best slices of pizza
By Linh Bui
May 3, 2023 / 5:07 PM EDT / CBS Baltimore
BALTIMORE — Bob Hanlon started "Bob's Pizza Tour" in 2019 while living in New York City.
"I started the pizza tour on Airbnb experiences as a way to get myself out of the apartment on the weekends, meet some cool people, eat some pizza, and just walk around the neighborhood," Hanlon said.
Hanlon takes you on a walking tour of a Baltimore neighborhood, stopping at three different restaurants.
"I think Baltimore has a thriving restaurant scene that probably doesn't get as much credit as it should," he said. "So I'm excited via a slice of Baltimore to take people around to the best pizza shops all around the Charm City."
Paulie Gee's owner Kelly Beckham agrees Baltimore does not get enough recognition when it comes to east coast pizza cities.
"A lot of the places that he goes to are pizzerias I admire, that I like to visit," Beckham said. "So I think it's kind of fun to develop this interconnected spider web of pizzerias that he's taking his tour to. And hopefully some people that don't know about, not just myself but the colleagues I have in the industry that I like in the city, are exposed to them, and start going to local pizzerias more often. "
During a tour you discuss toppings, different types of pizza, and how to tell if a pizza is well cooked.
Hanlon hosts these tours in several neighborhoods, including Hampden, South Baltimore, Harbor East and Patterson Park.
"We don't really have anything like this in Baltimore," said Drew Trocchia. "And pizza is a social fun thing to do with friends and family. Really looking forward to doing some tours in the spring time when it gets nice, and exploring the city through pizza."
Hanlon's Instagram is filled with mouth-watering photos and videos, and it now has more than 40,000 followers.
His tours cost $60 per person. He also hosts private events for companies or birthday parties.
"There's a lot of different styles of pizza in Baltimore," Hanlon said. "And I'm very excited with the tours to take people to places they haven't been to yet. And to think about pizza in ways they might not have thought of before."

Neapolitan pizza and rustic italian cuisine, featuring local seasonal ingredients..
Maialina Pizzeria Napoletana opened in early 2013 born out of an obsession with wood-fired Naples style pizza and the beauty and art of handmade pasta. Italian food and wine is steeped in tradition and history and in the love of place. The centerpiece of our kitchen is our oven, imported from Italy made from refractory cotto brick which cooks pizzas at 900 degrees. We stretch our mozzarella by hand, obsess daily about our dough and make it with a starter we’ve had since we opened. We studied at one of three Vera Pizza Napoletana certified schools in the world to learn how to preserve the traditional Naples style techniques. During the summer our magical piazza-style patio overflows with growing basil, tomatoes, herbs, corkscrew willow trees planted in wine barrels, and the laughs of friends.
Our local farmers, ranchers, growers make what we do possible. We believe in the history and tradition of local agriculture and local, healthy food. Which is why our eggs, pork, beef, and many weekly hand truckloads of produce comes from straight from Moscow area family farms. We know our farmers. We’ve been to their farms. We love what they do for our community and we see it as a great honor to prepare and serve these lovely things to you, so we can all share in tradition and love of place.
CENTERED AROUND A WOOD-FIRED OVEN
Maialina features a menu of wood-fired pizzas, house-made pastas, and locally-sourced, farm-fresh fresh dishes — a celebration of rustic cuisine.
