Daman Travel Health Insurance Plans and Coverage
When traveling, travel insurance is usually helpful. In particular, consider which things you consider important to insure. A lot is possible, but not everything is necessary. The main reason for taking out travel insurance is the help you get in an emergency. Think of an unplanned early return journey. Or a longer than planned stay including extra travel costs as a result of an accident, illness, or death. These types of events usually cost you a lot of money and time, when it is not covered anywhere else.
Roughly speaking, two types of travel insurance can be distinguished: continuous travel insurance and short-term travel insurance. Both travel insurance insures you and/or your belongings during your holiday or weekend away. The basic cover of travel insurance usually offers assistance and cover for extra costs that you have to incur as a result of, for example, illness, an accident, or death.
What is continuous travel insurance?
Do you go on holiday or a weekend away more than once a year? Then continuous travel insurance is in many cases the cheapest. With that of the ANWB you are assured of the trusted help of the Daman on your holiday (s), but also during weekends away.
What is short-term travel insurance?
If you go on holiday once a year, a short-term variant is usually the cheapest. Short-term travel insurance ends automatically after your holiday and you only pay a premium once.
What risks does travel insurance cover?
This differs per provider and per insurance. At Daman, you are insured with the basic travel insurance cover for unforeseen expenses that may occur during your trip. Think of repatriation from abroad, extra transport and accommodation costs, and replacement accommodation.
Moreover, with travel insurance from the Daman, you can consult for medical advice from a local doctor on a team of expert care providers, nurses, and doctors. That is great if you need medical help abroad. You can expand your travel insurance with additional cover. For example, the additional cover for medical costs. Because your health insurance often only reimburses the Dutch rates for medical treatments, while the costs for this can be higher abroad.

The UAE's leading health insurance company is warning tourists they will not be covered for emergency treatment after their visit visas expire. Daman, the national health insurance firm, has issued new guidelines to tie in with the overhaul of the visa system, which came into force last week. Visitors must now show proof of health insurance to obtain any of the 16 types of visas to gain entry into the UAE, including tourist visas.
Daman has introduced several insurance plans catering to those on 30-, 60- or 90-day visas, but is emphasising that all policies will expire when the visa does. The insurance packages cost Dh40, Dh70 and Dh90 respectively. "The new visitors' plan has been specifically designed to provide emergency in-patient healthcare insurance for any visitor, which facilitates the visa process as well as the visitor's stay in the UAE," said Dr Michael Bitzer, Daman's chief executive.
The insurance is available through travel agencies and includes 100 per cent coverage for a shared room as well as fees for consultants, surgeons and anaesthetists, pharmaceuticals during hospital stay and post-trauma dental treatment. Benefits such as inpatient emergency medical care up to Dh100,000 (US$27,224) are also available. The plan takes in a network of 33 hospitals and clinics. Exclusions to the policies include treatment sought outside the healthcare network for conditions including dental, maternal or optical work, mental health illnesses, patient treatment supplies and all pre-existing and chronic medical conditions.
Daman defines emergency as "the acute onset of a medical or surgical condition manifested by acute symptoms of sufficient severity, including pain, that the absence of immediate treatment... could reasonably be expected to result in placing the patient's health or bodily functions in serious jeopardy." @Email:[email protected]

Hydrogen: Market potential
Hydrogen has an estimated $11 trillion market potential, according to Bank of America Securities and is expected to generate $2.5tn in direct revenues and $11tn of indirect infrastructure by 2050 as its production increases six-fold.
"We believe we are reaching the point of harnessing the element that comprises 90 per cent of the universe, effectively and economically,” the bank said in a recent report.
Falling costs of renewable energy and electrolysers used in green hydrogen production is one of the main catalysts for the increasingly bullish sentiment over the element.
The cost of electrolysers used in green hydrogen production has halved over the last five years and will fall to 60 to 90 per cent by the end of the decade, acceding to Haim Israel, equity strategist at Merrill Lynch. A global focus on decarbonisation and sustainability is also a big driver in its development.

Daman Insurance For Visit Visa In Uae
Did you ever realise applying for an individual visitor visa to the UAE can be a long, frustrating and painful process? In this step-by-step guide, I’m going to tell you exactly how you get your Daman and all the forms you need to fill in. I’ll also look at what documents you will need to provide with your application and which ones you don’t need. Finally I’ll give some useful tips about how to make your application for a visit visa as straightforward and smooth as possible – giving it the best possible chance of success.
What is Dubai Visit Visa?A visit visa is issued for a period of 30 days, after arrival in UAE. This visa entitles the person to enter UAE only once and remain there for a period of 30 days from the date of arrival. Visitors from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states or their accompanying family members are exempted from the requirement to obtain a UAE visa for visits up to 90 days in aggregate within a calendar year.
UAE visit visa begins at 10,000/- INR and will be issued for one or multiple entries. The main factors which govern duration of visit visa is the purpose of stay in UAE, type of residence and how long you intend to stay in UAE.

Travel Medical Insurance for Dubai Travel medical insurance is mandatory for all UAE visa applicants
In this article
It is always advisable to purchase travel insurance when you travel to a foreign country, even if it’s not mandatory. Especially in a country such as the UAE, where the cost of healthcare can be high. Hospitals may sometimes refuse to offer medical treatment if you do not have health insurance or if you are not able to prove that you can afford the medical expenses.
Do I Need Dubai Travel Insurance?
Getting travel insurance for Dubai is mandatory only if you need a visa to enter the United Arab Emirates (of which Dubai is a part of). You won’t be able to apply for a visa unless you show proof of having obtained travel insurance. But if you don’t need a visa to enter the UAE – or if you can get a Visa on Arrival – then you are exempt from this requirement.
You can get a free quote and purchase a travel health insurance plan that meets the mandatory requirements for visitors to Dubai at Insubuy.
Where Can I Get Travel Health Insurance for Dubai (UAE)?
You can get travel health insurance for Dubai and the UAE via a travel insurance company in your country or through comparison marketplaces like Insubuy . At Insubuy you can also compare different insurance policies, and settle on one that suits your needs the best.
When buying a travel insurance policy, keep the following in mind:
- Buy it early. Travel insurance should be one of the first things you get once you book a trip. Especially if your deposits are non-refundable and you are traveling to a country such as the UAE, where accommodation can be quite costly. If you need to cancel, then you will receive some if not all your money back.
- Research and compare different policies online.
- Read the entire policy, including the fine print, very carefully. Although it can be tiresome and boring, knowing exactly how much coverage you have will save you from unexpected costs if you do need to make a claim.
What Should Travel Medical Insurance for Dubai Include?
When you buy travel medical insurance for Dubai, make sure you find a policy which covers at least these basics:
- Medical emergencies. Find a policy that offers cover for emergency medical care, such as the ambulance and ER, surgical procedures, doctor’s visit, hospitalization, and the cost of medicine.
- Trip disruption. Since a trip to the UAE is very likely expensive, then you should get coverage for any non-refundable reservations or deposits that you have made. If something does occur that can lead to cancellation, you want to make sure that at least part of your expenses can be recovered.
- Coverage for loss of personal belonging.
- Coverage for emergency evacuation or repatriation of mortal remains. In case you need to be evacuated to your home country.
Compare the available travel health insurance plans for Dubai here .
What Additional Coverage Should I Get?
In addition, you can choose to get additional coverage for things like:
- Expensive items/technology, which are usually not included in standard policies. Even if you have baggage insurance, most companies will exclude expensive items, such as laptops, cameras, jewellery, or designer clothes.
- If there is an event of terrorism during your trip, you can get cover for any medical expenses or other losses related to it.
- Personal/legal liability, in case any of your actions during the trip cause bodily injury to someone or damage someone’s property. The insurance policy will cover a portion of the medical bills.
- Adventurous activities or sports.
Will My UAE Travel Medical Insurance Cover All My Activities?
That depends on what you will be doing. Travel insurance, as a default, usually excludes activities that can be considered high-risk . And there are a lot of high-risk adventurous activities you can do in Dubai or elsewhere in the UAE that might not be covered. For example, a standard travel health insurance policy may not offer coverage for activities such as skydiving, dune bashing, scuba diving, car racing, (indoor) skiing, etc.
If you intend to engage in such activities, then you should ask your insurance providers whether it is possible to purchase additional coverage for them. A policy that offers coverage for high-risk activities will cost more, and there are still some activities that will not be covered.
Your UAE insurance will not cover you if you:
- Get into an accident/become injured while engaging in a high-risk activity that is not included in your policy
- Get into an accident/become injured while you are drunk
- Get into an accident/become injured due to your own recklessness
- Have a doctor’s check-up for pre-existing medical conditions.
- Lose or damage your belongings due to your own recklessness (e.g. if you leave them out of sight)
- Miss your flight or need to cancel for a reason that is not included in your policy.
Is Dubai Travel Insurance Expensive?
The cost of travel insurance for the UAE depends on a few factors:
- The duration of your trip.
- How much coverage you want.
- When you buy it.
- How many people are included in your plan.
Generally speaking, you can expect to pay somewhere between 4% to 10% of your trip for your travel insurance. Learn more about the prices of Dubai travel health insurance plans at Insubuy .
Is Healthcare Expensive in the UAE for Tourists?
The UAE is known for having a great healthcare system, so if you fall ill or get into an accident there, you will be well taken care of. However, except for UAE citizens, healthcare is not free. In fact, medical costs are quite high if you do not have some form of health insurance.
So, if you are debating whether to get travel health insurance, remember that the extra cost of the insurance policy is only a fraction of what you may have to pay in case you need medical assistance.
Are There Any Risks to Visiting Dubai?
Crime-wise, the UAE s a relatively safe place to visit. There are low crime rates and tourists are rarely affected by either violent or petty crime, such as pickpocketing.
What Laws Should I Be Aware of Before Visiting Dubai?
However, it is worth noting that the laws and social rules in the UAE are much stricter than in Western countries. Even if you do not have to be wary of crime, you must take care to not break the law and face trouble with authorities.
Things that people in Western cultures consider normal can be frowned upon in the UAE and even illegal. This includes dressing “immodestly”, swearing in public (even online) or making rude gestures, eating in public transport (or eating anywhere in public during Ramadan), public displays of affection (especially unmarried or same-sex couples), criticizing the government, fundraising, taking pictures of other people without their permission, or pictures of road accidents, military buildings, palaces, or courts, etc.
Breaking these laws can result in a hefty fine at best or even arrest and jail time. So, make sure you read up on the UAE laws before you travel and follow them.

Daman to use current premiums of health insurance in Abu Dhabi
Abu dhabi - the abu dhabi naturalisation and residency department (adnrd) officials on tuesday helped applicants complete the formalities of the new types of visit visas, and coordinated with the national health insurance company (daman) to use the current premiums until fixing the new charges., by ahmed abdul aziz.

Daman has not fixed the new premiums for the health insurance certificates for visitors yet.
The certificates have to be submitted to the ADNRD to issue the new visit visas that are in effect from yesterday.
"The current rates of the health insurance to be paid to cover the visit visas would be implemented until Daman officials decide the new charges", said Mohammad Bakhit, Head of Services at the office of the Director General of ADNRD.
Daman's current rates - which cover one month - are Dh140 for people above age 51, Dh80 for ages between 16-50, and Dh60 for people less than 16-years-old. However, the health insurance premium for mission visa (for termporary work) is currently Dh420 for ages above 51, and Dh240 for people between 16-50.
The cabinet decision No 322 for the year 2008 obligates the sponsors to provide health insurance to all visitors who will enter the country for tourism, visiting relatives, study and temporary work.
The ADNRD did not process many applications which did not include health insurance certificate.
Khaleej Times has learnt that some insurance companies will fix Dh500 as a charge for one month visit and tourism. It will also fix Dh1,000 premium for three-month visit visa (short-stay).
