Theme park reservations are no longer required for date-based tickets. For other admission types, theme park reservations may be required. These include student group tickets, sport and convention tickets, Florida Resident Disney Thrills tickets, Disney Military Salute Tickets, and Annual Passes. Check with Walt Disney World ahead of your visit for complete details.

How do Disney Genie Service and Lightning Lanes work?

Available for all Walt Disney World® Resort guests, the My Disney Experience app offers new features that let you create your best Disney day. These features include a personalized itinerary creator that effortlessly and smartly maps out an entire day inspired by the things guests tell Disney they love — helping you make the most of your park time so you can have more fun.

Through the My Disney Experience app, you can also purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass Entrance for more than 40 attractions across the four Walt Disney World theme parks, as well as Lightning Lane Single Pass Entrance for highly demanded attractions. When you purchase a multi pass, you can plan ahead and choose up to three multi pass experiences and arrival windows, and the option to make an additional selection after your first multi pass experience, plus photo perks. What is Disney Memory Maker?

Memory Maker is a great way to capture and relive your Walt Disney World Florida memories without having to reach for your camera. The whole family can pose for photos at any Disney PhotoPass location as well as select attractions and dining locations throughout Walt Disney World Resort. Ride photos are included too!

Photos and videos can then be downloaded to your Disney account on My Disney Experience. You do this by tapping your Disney Ticket, MagicBand or MagicMobile pass at the attractions.

What is Disney Genie Service and Lightning Lane?

Disney Genie is a complimentary service included in the cost of your Disney Magic Tickets! With just a bit of information about your interests and preferences, this tool in the My Disney Experience app will give you a personalised itinerary, including attractions, foodie experiences, and Characters you can meet! There’s also a virtual tip board with forecasted ride wait times for all the park's attractions, and advice for making dining reservations, mobile food ordering and more. I have a valid disney ticket, do i still need to book days at the disney parks.

As of 9 January 2024, no Disney theme park reservations are needed! Just a valid Disney ticket is all you need to enter Magic Kingdom Park, EPCOT, Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios and the Walt Disney World water parks.

How will I receive my Disney Magic Tickets?

When you purchase a Disney Magic Ticket you will receive a Disney Ticket confirmation in your  AttractionTickets.com Customer Account  as soon as you pay for your tickets in full (for those securing their Disney Magic Tickets with a deposit, your confirmation will only be made available once you have cleared your balance). Upon receipt of your Disney Ticket confirmation, create your gate-ready Disney MagicMobile passes in My Disney Experience - see our Disney MagicMobile  guide for more information on Disney MagicMobile passes, a new contactless way to enter the Disney Parks using your smartphone.

For those that would prefer to have physical tickets, simply take your Disney Ticket Confirmation to any ticket window located at the entrance of each Disney Park to redeem printed physical tickets.

When can I book my Disney Park days?

Disney Park Reservations are no longer required to visit the four Disney theme parks. Once you have booked your Disney tickets and paid in full, the tickets linked in your customer account are all you need to access Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach. 

I have received my Disney Ticket Confirmation, how do I create my Disney MagicMobile passes?

Once you receive your Disney Ticket Confirmation, create your Disney MagicMobile passes in a few easy steps:

1. On receipt of your Disney Ticket Confirmation, set up an account on the My Disney Experience website. 2. Link your Disney Ticket Confirmation to your My Disney Experience account. 3. After you have created your My Disney Experience account and linked your Disney Ticket Confirmation, download the My Disney Experience App 4. Set up a Disney MagicMobile pass for each linked ticket in the My Disney Experience AppS 5. Add your MagicMobile Pass to the Wallet app on iPhone or the digital wallet on other smart devices. 6. For added ease, you can store multiple passes on a single device, a great option for families!

Disney MagicMobile passes are gate-ready and give instant admission to Disney Theme parks.

For those that would prefer to have physical tickets, you can take your Disney Ticket numbers to any Will Call/Ticket window located at the entrance of each Disney Park to redeem your Disney Ticket IDs for printed physical tickets. Please ensure you have a valid ID.

I would like to get a physical Disney Magic Ticket posted to my home address - is that possible?

Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to post physical printed Disney Magic Tickets to your home address. Like most worldwide attractions, Walt Disney World has transitioned to digital tickets that can be downloaded to a smartphone and no longer issues printed tickets in advance.   Disney MagicMobile passes are gate-ready and give direct admission to the Disney Parks. Simply hold your iPhone, smartphone or Apple Watch near an access point when entering the Disney Parks just like you do with a physical ticket or MagicBand - See our Disney MagicMobile  guide for more information on how to create gate-ready Disney MagicMobile passes.

Is Memory Maker included with my Disney Tickets?

Can i pre-book lightning lane access to disney attractions in advance.

Yes! Once you’re in the US, Lightning Lanes can be purchased up to 7 days in advance for Disney Resort hotel guests and up to 3 days in advance for ticket-only guests. These must be purchased on a day-by-day basis, but you’ll be able to book for the full duration of your trip at the same time. 

If you purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass in advance, you can book a time slot for up to three attractions per day. Once you’ve redeemed your initial Lightning Lane selection on the day of your visit (or the arrival window has passed), you can make another Lightning Lane selection using the My Disney Experience app, and can keep making one selection at a time throughout the day.

You can also purchase a Lightning Lane Single Pass for up to two attractions per day (once per attraction). 

Both Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass can also be purchased on the day, subject to availability.

Do all Disney rides and attractions have Lightning Lane access?

Almost all of the rides and attractions throughout the 4 Walt Disney World Theme Parks have Lightning Lane access. While most of these are included (subject to availability) with the purchase of Lightning Lane Multi Pass, the following attractions require an individual purchase of Lightning Lane Single Pass: 

• Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (Magic Kingdom Park)
• TRON Lightcycle/Run (Magic Kingdom Park) 
• Guardians of the Galaxy : Cosmic Rewind (EPCOT)

The Complete Guide to Disney World Ticket Prices

When Walt Disney World first opened in 1971, it included the single theme park, the Magic Kingdom. Today, the Florida mega-resort, located near Orlando, offers four theme parks and two water parks (along with a slew of hotels; two shopping, dining, and entertainment districts; and many other diversions). Through the years, the prices of Disney’s park passes—along with the variety of ticket options to access the many parks—have grown exponentially.

The bad news is that the cost for a one-day, one-park ticket for ages 10 and older has skyrocketed to as high as $159. Fortunately, there are ways to bring the price of park passes down—substantially in some cases—which we will explore in our guide below. It’s important to understand how Disney World's ticket program works so that you can make informed purchasing decisions and get the best value for your ticket.

Note that Walt Disney World is open 365 days a year. All of the theme parks are open every day (although operating hours vary according to the season ), while the water parks typically take a winter break in the off-season.

How Much Are Tickets to Disney World?

The prices for Disney World theme park tickets used to be uniform. But starting in 2016, the resort adopted a variable pricing model. It’s similar to airlines and hotels, which charge more, based on demand, during peak seasons. The practice is also known as “surge pricing.” The prices listed in the chart above represent the lowest possible costs at the least busy times of the year.

Disney World offers two ticket categories according to age level: One is for ages 10 and older; the other is for ages 3 to 9. Admission is free for children under the age of 3. Read on to learn about the types of passes and what is/is not included.

1 Park Per Day

The standard, most basic ticket, 1 Park Per Day is self-explanatory. The ticket allows a user to visit one of Disney World’s four theme parks in a single day. They are available in denominations of one day up to 10 days. The four parks are Magic Kingdom , Epcot, Disney’s Hollywood Studios , and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

The more days you purchase, the lower the cost per day. Significant savings don’t kick in until five days or more. For example, the lowest price for a one-day ticket is $109. But the per-day price drops to $88 for a five-day ticket. The savings are even better for a 10-day ticket, with a per-day price of only $52.

Be aware that once you choose the first day of any multi-day ticket, you will have a limited amount of time to use or lose your tickets. You do not, however, have to visit the parks on consecutive days. For example, for a five-day pass, you have eight days from the first day of your ticket from which to choose the five days you will visit the parks. (Years ago, multi-day Disney World tickets did not expire.) Note also that passes are non-transferable, so be sure that each member of your party has his or her own ticket.

Water Park and Sports Option

For about $70 more, you could upgrade your 1 Park Per Day ticket and get a Water Park and Sports Option ticket. In addition to being able to visit one theme park per day, you could also visit Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park , Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, the NBA Experience at Disney Springs, ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, the 9-hole Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course (which also offers a FootGolf experience), and Disney’s two mini-golf courses. The number of visits to these additional attractions is based on the number of days purchased for the 1 Park Per Day ticket. For example, a four-day ticket includes four visits, while a six-day ticket would include six visits.

Park Hopper Option

With the Park Hopper Option, you could visit multiple parks each day. For instance, you could go to Disney's Animal Kingdom in the early morning (when more animals are likely to be visible), the Magic Kingdom in the middle of the day, and cap off the evening with Fantasmic! at  Disney's Hollywood Studios .

If you are planning to spend one or two days at Disney World, the Park Hopper Option would make sense. It would allow you to visit all four parks in two days for as low as $288, or $72 per park. If you started early in the morning and stayed until the last park closed each day, you'd be getting an okay deal (and tired feet).

Park Hopper Plus Option

Park Hopper Plus tickets are almost identical to Water Park and Sports Option tickets in that they include visits to the same water parks and sports attractions. The difference is that they also allow park hopping among the theme parks.

If you're only going to be here for one or two days, we do not recommend this option. Even the most proficient multitasker would find it challenging to visit multiple theme parks plus water parks or other attractions in such a short amount of time.

Discount Pricing

• Check out authorized third-party ticket sellers, such as Undercover Tourist , that offer Disney World tickets at modest discounts.
• Disney World offers discounted tickets for Florida residents, which are available on its website .
• While Disney never discounts its theme park tickets, it does offer limited-time package deals that bundle hotel accommodations and tickets. You can find these deals and other offers on the resort’s deals and discounts page .
• Disney World offers special discounts for military members and their families . It is worth checking these out as they can offer substantial savings.

Plan Your Visit

From when to visit to making ride reservations, here's how to plan your trip to Walt Disney World to save money and get the most out of your ticket.

Best Time to Visit

It goes without saying that the busier the parks, the longer the waits for rides and attractions. You may not be able to experience as much, but ironically, your passes will cost more during peak tourist season. One way to save on tickets would be to plan your visit during the less-trafficked times of year, such as late August or September. In addition to saving money, you'll enjoy less crowded parks and get considerably more value.

As a bonus, hotels, airfare, and other costs are likely to be lower than during peak-visitation times. The busiest time of year, with the highest ticket costs, is the week between Christmas and New Year’s.

Do the Math for Water Park and Sports Option and Park Hopper Plus Tickets

Make sure that you would visit enough of the water parks and sports attractions to justify the additional cost of a Water Park and Sports Option ticket. You would certainly get a great value if you went to the water parks or attractions every day of your visit—but if you're only planning to go to one water park, the extra cost would not be worth it. Instead, purchase an à la carte ticket to visit one of the water parks for $64 and be ahead of the game.

Meanwhile, the difference in cost between the Park Hopper and the Park Hopper Plus tickets is generally only about $20. That makes the Park Hopper Plus Option a good value for visitors planning to visit even one of the water parks.

Link Your Tickets

Regardless of the tickets you end up purchasing, you are going to want to link them to what the resort calls a “My Disney Experience” account so that you will be able to use Disney’s services and plan your trip. There is both an online website and a mobile phone app that you can use in advance of your visit and while you are at the resort. It can be confusing, but it's important to understand the different elements of Disney World's trip planning resources, including  Disney Genie, Lightning Lane, MagicBands, and My Disney Experience .

Buy Your Tickets in Advance

You should purchase your tickets online . That way you can do advance planning, save money, and save time at the parks. You’ll pay $20 less per ticket when you buy three-day or longer tickets online rather than at the parks’ ticket booths.

Walt Disney World offering Florida residents park tickets for just $59 a day

“florida resident discover disney tickets” are valid from april 2 to sept. 28, according to the website, by nbc6 • published march 13, 2024 • updated on march 13, 2024 at 5:57 pm.

Good news for all you Disney lovers living in Florida: you can now experience the magic of the Disney parks for a much lower price.

According to Disney’s website, they are now offering a 4-day “Discover Disney Ticket” for “just $59 per day, plus tax” and 3-day ticket for $73 per day.

These “Florida Resident Discover Disney Tickets” are valid from April 2 to September 28, 2024, according to the website.

It’s also specified online that the tickets can be used on consecutive or non-consecutive day “so you can spread out the fun!”

This deal is valid for one park per day, but there are some add-on options that can let you hop between parks by paying $40 more per ticket plus tax.

There is also an add-on option to include water parks and sports for $35 more per ticket, plus tax.

It is important to keep in mind that Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park is currently closed until March 17, 2024, and Disney’s Blizzard Beach is available through March 16, 2024, expecting to close for refurbishment beginning March 17. If selected, the add-on option is valid for entry to either park, whichever one is open at the time, according to the website.

How EXPENSIVE Will Your 2025 Disney World Trip Be?

It’s only September, yes, but do you know what that means? 2025 is only 3 WHOLE MONTHS away. The new year will be here before we know it!

We already know A LOT is on the way for Disney World in 2025 — we’ll be getting a new Villains show in Disney’s Hollywood Studios , construction will have begun on the new Tropical Americas section of Animal Kingdom (taking the place of DinoLand U.S.A.), and we know that we should be seeing progress on the Villains Land and Cars Land coming to Magic Kingdom in the coming years. If you’re planning to head to the parks to experience the magic in 2025, you need to know that unfortunately, it’ll cost you MORE than it did in 2024.

Before we begin, we want to remind you that using a Disney World travel agent is the way to go when you book your vacation, especially if you’re concerned about your budget! A travel agent’s services are free to you, and Disney is introducing new discounts all the time. Your agent will stay on top of those announcements, and be able to help you get any new promos that will reduce your cost between the time you book your trip and when you take it! We highly recommend using Mouse Fan Travel to book your trip — they’re true experts and won’t lead you astray!

For this exercise we’ll be using two different example families since no Disney World vacation group is the same. Your travel party may not fall exactly into one of these categories, but hopefully it can give you a better idea of what you should expect to pay. Disney World prices can fluctuate wildly though, so remember that this is just an estimate!

Our Sample Families!

Our first sample family has two adults and two kids (ages 11 and 16) . They’re planning a trip from June 21st to June 27th, 2025  (six nights) and are coming from  Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Our second sample family is made up of two adults with no kids . They’ll be traveling from New York City to stay for seven nights in Disney from September 13th to 20th, 2025.

Each of these families are planning vastly different trips, so let’s break it all down!

The Disney World Hotel

Our first sample family has decided to stay at  Pop Century Resort  — a popular value resort with access to the Disney World Skyliner. This will cost them  around $229.50 a night .

Our second sample family has decided to stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge — a deluxe resort within walking distance to Magic Kingdom with bus transportation to the other parks. This will cost them around $546.57 a night.

Disney does allow guests to book their hotel and park tickets together, which for the sake of this experiment, is what both families decided to go.

Park Tickets

By booking their tickets with their hotel room, both families have access to the parks each day of their trip , but they don’t have to use them if they’d rather spend a day lounging at the hotel! Since both families are traveling for an extended period of time, they decided to leave Park Hopping off of their tickets.

This means that for park tickets and their hotel stay,  Sample Family 1 will pay around $4,606.80 for their vacation package while Sample Family 2 will pay around $5,592.98 for their vacation package.

But we can’t forget about the dining!

The  Disney Dining Plan is a fantastic tool that can make planning meals easier, since you’re paying for them ahead of time! However, it’s not always worth the price for every single family.

Sample Family 1 has decided to book the Table Service Disney Dining Plan  with their vacation package, bringing their total for park tickets, hotel stay, and dining plan up to  $6,953.72.

Sample Family 2 however does not feel the dining plan will be beneficial to them, so they’ll pay for their meal out of pocket. In this example, they will pay $30 per day for breakfast, $45 per day for lunch , and  $50 per day for dinner . They’ve also opted for  2 table-service or character meals  at around  $215 . This brings our couple’s total to  $1,090  for dining.

But these families have to GET to Disney World too, and neither of them have chosen to drive!

Prices are all over the place when it comes to airline tickets, so keep in mind these are just estimates. Our family of four is flying in from Baton Rouge, LA, and they secured round-trip airfare for approximately  $1,412 . To get to Pop Century from Orlando International Airport, they’ll be taking  Mears Connect which will cost $121.80 total.

Sample Family 2 is flying in from New York City and snagged round-trip airfare for around  $494 . *It’s important to note that at the time of writing this, flight prices were not yet available for September 2025 flights, so this pricing is based off of September 2024 prices.*

They also used Mears Connect to get to and from Disney World and the airport for a total of  $67.20 .

Additional Optional Expenses

There are so many ways to upgrade your Disney World vacation! You can pay to skip the lines and save time waiting with Lightning Lane Multi Pass and/or Lightning Lane Single Pass , or get tickets to an after-hours event like  Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party  or  Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party  if you’re traveling at the right times.

Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass uses date-based pricing per park, per day , which makes it tricky to plan out how much you’ll be spending ahead of time. Since both families are staying on property though, they get to book 7 days in advance of their trip! For the sake of this exercise, we’ll use an average price of $24 per person per day for Lightning Lane Multi Pass , which includes the option to park hop each day. However, both Sample Families decided to get 2 Lightning Lane Single Pass reservations throughout the duration of their trip, which let’s say adds on an additional $40 per person . That means Sample Family 1 would pay $832 overall for Lightning Lane Multi Pass (spending , and Sample Family 2 would pay $464 . Again, this is to use Lightning Lane Multi Pass on EVERY day of their trip, plus those two Lightning Lane Single Passes.

Memory Maker  is another optional add-on, where you can pay one price to download all of the Disney PhotoPass photos from your vacation. Guests can pay a one-time fee of  $185 ahead of their trip and have access to all their photos taken by Disney PhotoPass Photographers, or pay $210 while they’re on vacation . However, neither of our families chose to get Memory Maker.

For Sample Family 1 , here is their cost breakdown:

• $4,606.80 for park tickets, hotel stay, and Disney Dining Plan
• $1,412 for plane tickets
• $121.80 for Mears Connect
• $832 for Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass

Their approximate total cost before spending/souvenir money = $6,972.60

For Sample Family 2 , here is their cost breakdown:

• $6,682.98 for park tickets, hotel stay, and dining
• $494 for plane tickets
• $67.20 for Mears Connect
• $464 for Lightning Lane Multi Pass/Single Pass

Their approximate total cost before spending/souvenir money = $7,708.18

If you book your vacation ahead of price hikes and changes, which often hits right around the start of the fiscal year (aka right around New Years), they won’t affect your trip. This means that the prices we’ve discussed above will likely increase beyond what they currently are after the start of the fiscal year, but if you were to book between now and the end of the year, you’d be looking at right around these prices.

Disney trips meant for homeless students went to NYC school employees' kids, officials say

NEW YORK — Six employees of New York City's public school system took their children or grandchildren on trips to Disney World, New Orleans and other locations using tickets that were meant for homeless students, investigators said in a newly released report.

The trips intended as enrichment for students living in shelters and other temporary housing also included excursions to Washington, D.C., Boston and Broadway shows, said Anastasia Coleman, the special commissioner of investigation for New York City schools.

According to the report released this month, Linda Wilson, the Queens regional manager for the office that supports students in temporary housing, took her own children on trips that were paid for through grants for homeless students and encouraged employees she supervised to do the same but to keep quiet about it.

Walt Disney World is adding a new villain-themed section

"What happens here stays with us," one staffer quoted Wilson as saying.

Contacted by the New York Post , Wilson denied bringing her two daughters on trips or encouraging staff members to bring their children. Wilson called the special commissioner's probe "a witch hunt."

The investigation began after a whistleblower brought a complaint in March 2019. The special commissioner's report, which concerned trips that took place between 2016 and 2019, was completed in January 2023 but only made public on Sept. 9.

The special commissioner's office did not explain the lag in releasing the report and did not respond to requests for clarification.

According to the report, Wilson forged permission slips to bring family members on trips and evaded city Department of Education oversight by using an outside agency to book travel arrangements.

Disney set to invest $17B in Florida parks, could build new theme park

Some of the trips were intended as college tours, but the students and chaperones never actually visited the campuses, witnesses told the investigators.

A group including Wilson and one of her daughters as well as other staff members and their children ate lunch at Syracuse University during a June 2018 trip but never toured the school, witnesses said. They left and went to Niagara Falls instead, according to the investigation.

The special commissioner's office recommended that Wilson and the other staff members faulted in the report be fired and that they be required to reimburse the school system for their family members' trips.

Wilson told the Post that she retired and was not fired.

Jenna Lyle, a spokesperson for the Department of Education, told the Post, “All staff identified in this report are no longer employed by New York City Public Schools."
