England face stacked schedule as Future Tours Programme confirmed for 2023-2027

England's packed schedule includes a one-off Test against Ireland ahead of next summer's home Ashes series - which will run between mid-June and the end of July

englandftp17082201

The Future Tours Programme for 2023 to 2027 has been confirmed.

England's packed schedule includes a one-off Test against Ireland ahead of next summer's home Ashes series - which will run between mid-June and the end of July, a five-match series in India in early 2024, and visits from West Indies and Sri Lanka in the Test arena in the home summer of 2024.

The whole of August is kept free from England fixtures to accommodate The Hundred in each of 2023 and 2024, though there are games against Ireland and Pakistan which creep into the schedule in 2025 and 2026 respectively.

The next Ashes campaign down under will take place in 2025-26, while the red-ball side's 2026-27 winter will be spent in South Africa and Bangladesh.

The white-ball setup continues its global jetset. In 2023, that includes home series against New Zealand and Ireland in September, prior to three ODIs and five T20Is in the Caribbean in December 2023.

Five T20s against Pakistan kick off the 2024 summer, while Australia visit in September for five ODIs and three T20s.

Ireland, West Indies and South Africa make up the limited-overs opponents in the summer of 2025, and there is a white-ball trip to New Zealand before the Ashes series.

An ODI tri series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka is scheduled for October 2026.

England - future tour program.

Check out the Upcoming Cricket Matches of Team England, England's Next Match, and Team England's Future Tour Programs (FTP).

England Cricket National Team is one of the oldest cricket teams as the sport itself has its origin linked back to the country’s history. The first-ever Test match in 1877 was hosted by the National Team and they were also part of the first-ever ODI in 1971. Both the matches played by the English team were against Australian National Cricket Team. To date, the team has been involved in all the ICC tournaments.

As per records till November 2022, England National Cricket Team has played around 1055 Test matches in which they have won 384 matches, had a draw in 354 matches, and lost 317 matches. However, they have only won once in the Cricket World Cup tournament, securing the trophy in 2019. Speaking of the team’s rankings, they stand 2nd in T20I, 1st in ODIs, and 4th in Tests among all other national teams.

ICC reveal Women's Future Tours Program

The FTP outlines the international cricket calendar, including ICC events and bilateral international series.

WOMEN’S FTP FOR 2022-25

The women's FTP reveals the international obligations for all sides until the end of April in 2025, leading up to the ICC Women’s World Cup in India.

Some of the highlights of the inaugural women's FTP include:

  • Fixtures confirmed for 2022-25 ICC Women’s Championship
  • More Test match cricket between countries
  • A standalone women's only Ashes series between Australia and England in 2025

ICC launches the first-ever Women's FTP

ICC General Manager of Cricket, Wasim Khan, said the confirmation of the first ever women’s FTP was a watershed moment for women’s cricket.

“This is a huge moment for the women’s game,” Khan said. “This FTP not only lends certainty to future cricket tours but also sets the base for a structure that is sure to grow in the coming years.”

ICC Women's Championship fixtures

In total there will be over 300 international women's games played during the next period, which features a total of seven Test matches, 135 ODIs and 159 T20Is.

Teams will play three-match bilateral ODI series as part of the 2022-25 ICC Women's Championships, ahead of the next women’s 50-over World Cup in India in 2025.

Many of those three-game ODI series are accompanied by corresponding T20I series, with some teams opting to play five-game T20I series alongside the ICC Women's Championships fixtures.

All bilateral T20I matches count towards respective team rankings, which in turn serves as a primary mechanism for determining the teams that qualify for ICC global events.

One of the highlights of the women’s calendar is England's next trip to Australia for the multi-format Ashes series. It will be a standalone series at the start of 2025, with the corresponding men's series coming later that year.

Just last month the ICC confirmed the host country for every women's white-ball tournament to be played up until 2027, with the latest fixtures confirmed by the FTP all featuring around those major ICC events.

What is the ICC Women's Championship 2022-25?
