This Spring, we take a short trip to some of Yorkshire's most elegant destinations, including the traditional market town of Knaresborough, the fashionable spa town of Harrogate, cosmopolitan Leeds and Holmfirth, home to TV's Last of the Summer Wine. We also include the bonus of a visit to Castle Howard to explore the impressive Springtime gardens.

With a comfort stop enroute, we travel to Harrogate for an afternoon at leisure. Home to historic buildings and decorative gardens, Harrogate is one of Yorkshire's most elegant destinations. With our hotel just a short walk from the town's Victorian centre, why not visit the famous Betty's Tea Rooms or the Royal Pump Room Museum to explore life in a bygone era?

This morning, we visit the picturesque market town of Knaresborough. Discover old world charm, amazing views of the River Nidd below, and the imposing railway viaduct across the gorge the town sits on. Later, we travel the short distance to Castle Howard. Located in an Area of Natural Beauty, this majestic eighteenth-century stately home hosts stunning gardens, where you'll find a carpet of springtime bluebells in the enchanting Woodland Garden, an on-site garden centre and a Courtyard Cafe, which is perfect for a tasty, sweet treat.

After breakfast, we leave Harrogate and travel to Holmfirth, which sits in the heart of the breathtaking Holme Valley. We explore the familiar locations from the hit TV series Last of the Summer Wine, including Syd's Café and Nora Batty's Steps. From here, we continue back home in the mid-afternoon.

We travel across the Pennines into Yorkshire and on to the picturesque market town of Knaresborough. The town is a delight to explore with its majestic Victorian viaduct, cobbled alleys and riverside walks, independent shops and cafes, plus the medieval Castle. We then continue a short distance to Harrogate and check in to the centrally located Hilton Doubletree Hotel.

At leisure to discover Harrogate with its beautiful floral displays, atmospheric cafés and green open spaces. You might like to visit the Royal Pump Room Museum for a fascinating insight into Harrogate’s spa history, stroll through the Valley Gardens or watch the world go by in Betty's Tea Rooms. The stylish Montpellier Quarter is regarded as the 'Antiques and Art Centre of the North' and is home to an array of exclusive shops, bars and restaurants.

Today we discover the magnificent city of York where you may like to take a sightseeing tour, a walk on the city walls or perhaps a river cruise. See the mighty York Minster, explore the "Shambles" with its ancient buildings leaning in all directions and be sure to see the Jorvik Centre and the excellent Castle and Railway Museums.

Following breakfast we check out of the hotel and travel to the popular market town of Skipton with its canal boats and magnificent castle. Now over 900 years old Skipton Castle is one of the most complete and well preserved medieval castles in England with its twin towers and a beautiful early Tudor courtyard. Here we’ll have some time to explore and have lunch before we depart and commence our homeward journey.

If you have already experienced the flower shows at Chelsea, Hampton Court and Tatton Park? Then coach trips to the Harrogate Flower Show are the perfect alternative for you. Visit the Floral Art Marquee , the largest in Britain, where you'll find over 150 fabulous displays of flower arrangements that have been painstakingly put together by talented florists. Another must-see at the Harrogate Flower Show is the 'Have a Go' area where experts will be on hand to show you how to create an edible Herb Garden and to make a greenhouse from recycled plastic bottles among other demonstrations.

In addition to the fabulous show gardens , there will be plenty of plants on display from over 100 leading nurseries from across the UK. Some of these plant displays will be representing a theme of 'A Song of the 50s or 60s' . Would you like to be able to prepare something with the fruit or vegetables that you grow at home? If this is you, visit 'Kitchen Garden Live' , where experts will be on hand to show you exactly how to do it. You will also find the 'Plot to Pot Cookery Theatre' useful as the team will be producing a variety of dishes from items you can find in the garden at home. As you're wandering around the gardens and see something you like but don't want to carry your purchases with you? Help is at hand with the 'Plants and Products Secure Creche' , where your purchases will be kept safe until you wish to go home – just don't forget to collect your items before you leave the show!

How to get there: All coach packages will include transfers directly to the venue.If travelling by car the showground is fully signposted with free parking and courtesy buses to main entrance. The nearest train stations are Hornbeam Park (1 mile) or Harrogate station (2 miles) where you can walk or take the shuttle bus to the venue.
