Departure from the hotel by Jeep with destination collection point at CAMEL YARD in Port Ghalib. We will start with a QUAD ride on the beach (30 minutes) then a short "camel ride". We will continue our jeep road through the desert for about 20 km to the Bedouin village that we will visit and where we will admire the sunset while drinking tea.

We will then return to CAMEL YARD where we will serve you an open buffet barbecue dinner: grilled chicken, kofta, potatoes, pasta, rice, salads, bread, fruit and soft drinks (mineral water is always available during the trip). Finally, the traditional Bedouin festival. Return to the hotel.

Free Diving Courses

We offer a variety of AIDA International Courses in Marsa Shagra and Marsa Nakari with our certified on-site AIDA instructor. Courses are conducted at our house reef which is accessible directly from the shore, and has a protected bay with a variety of depths, with buoys and lines. Our preparation area is a large shaded area with individual lockers for storing equipment and kitting up. We also have safety equipment according to the AIDA standards and staff trained in First Aid response. The following courses are available as individual courses or with different packages. AIDA1 INTRODUCTION TO FREEDIVING

Prerequisites:.

• Be 18 years of age or older (16 or 17 years old with parent or guardian consent)
• Be able to swim at least 100m non-stop

This course offers a basic knowledge of freediving and introductory skills such as relaxation of body and mind, finning techniques, duck dives and equalisation.

AIDA2 FREEDIVER

• Can swim at least 200m non-stop without fins and at least 300m non-stop with mask, fins and snorkel
• Note: You do not have to have completed AIDA 1 in order to take AIDA 2

2 minutes STA; 40 meters DYN, 16 meters CWT, theoretical exam

The static and dynamic sessions in confined water are used to teach relaxation, breathing, finning and safety techniques. AIDA3 ADVANCED FREEDIVER

• Can swim at least 200m non-stop without fins and at least 300m non-stop with mask, fins and snorkel, 
• Have completed the AIDA2 course or have completed the AIDA2 Crossover Evaluation if crossing over from another freediving agency.

2:45 minutes STA; 55 meters DYN, 24 meters CWT, theoretical exam

The course is designed to further develop skills from previous levels, to acquire new skills and gain a higher knowledge of safety procedures and techniques. The new techniques that are introduced are free-fall, Frenzel Equalizing, the use of training tables, the risks of increasing and decreasing pressure and also how to minimize these risks. In addition to the above courses, our on-site free diving instructor is on hand to give private training sessions to individuals or groups who are already certified free divers (at least AIDA 1 or equivalent with another active free diving agency). Please see our price lists for a full list of the services we provide and their rates. Yoga is an excellent complimentary activity. Marsa Shagra has an on-site yoga instructor and Yoga Shala. The Shala is available outside of fixed class times for rental for groups and is the ideal setting for yoga, meditation and relaxation sessions.
