Tourist visa

A tourist visa is for those who are not eligible for  visa on arrival  or a  visa-free entry  to the UAE. You can apply for a tourist visa through airlines, hotels and travel agents. Read about the eligibility criteria and the steps to apply.

Multiple entry 5-year tourist visa

Who is a tourist visa for, who can apply for your tourist visa, related eservices.

The multiple entry 5-year tourist visa enables tourists to enter the UAE multiple times on self-sponsorship and remain in the country for 90 days on each visit, and can be extended for further 90 days. This type of tourist visa can be issued for all nationalities.

To obtain this visa, the applicant must have:

• a bank balance of 4,000 USD or its equivalent in foreign currencies during the last six months
• a valid health insurance policy applicable in the UAE
• a ticket to and from the UAE

Documents required

To apply for the multiple entry tourist visa, the applicant must provide the following:

• a colored photo
• a copy of the passport
• medical Insurance
• bank statement for the last 6 months with a balance 4,000 USD or its equivalent in foreign currencies
• tour programme
• a ticket for onward journey.

Tourist visa is for those who are not eligible for  visa on arrival  or a  visa-free entry  to the UAE. Tourist visa can be obtained for eligible individual tourists from around the world. Tourist visas through agencies and hotels

Licensed travel agents and hotels in the UAE can arrange a tourist visa for you provided you purchase the ticket through them and maintain hotel reservation with the specific hotel.

You can also contact travel agencies in your country for any tourist packages available to the UAE in collaboration with a local tour operator.

It is important to check the authenticity of travel agents you are dealing with and refrain from paying or sending copies of your official documents until after you are 100 per cent sure the tour operator is genuine. You can seek the help of the  UAE embassy in your country  for verification.

Note: The UAE embassies do not issue tourist visas. In order to get a tourist visa to the UAE, you need to get in touch with one of the UAE-based airlines, a tour agency or a hotel (where you intend to stay) in the UAE who will apply for visa on your behalf to the official  visa-issuing authorities  in the UAE.

ICP’s new service can be completed online by the visa sponsor

Dubai: The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has launched a service that allows visit visa holders to extend the validity of their visas online.

Visit visas, which are a type of entry permit , are issued to foreign nationals, allowing them to enter the UAE for various reasons – whether for tourism, medical treatment or to study.

As per the ICP website, this new service allows for the extension of this visit visa. “The extension period depends on the type of entry permit issued in terms of duration and the number of times the extension request can be submitted,” the website stated.

What is visa validity?

According to Adnan Khan, operation manager at Siddique Haider Corporate Services Provider, the visa validity refers to the amount of time within which you can travel on a particular visa.

“After the visa is issued, you have 60 days to travel. After 60 days, the visa expires. Before the 60-day deadline, if you think you will not be able to travel on the visa, you can extend the validity of the visa through this service,” he told Gulf News.

“Sometimes people have their visas issued and they might not be able to leave the country, for whichever reason. They will just have to pay the fee to extend the visa validity, which would be better than having to apply for a new visa, which would cost them more,” he said.

For how many days can the validity be extended?

The service allows visit visa holders to extend the validity of their visit visa for up to 60 days and those on a visa issued to receive a medical treatment or to study can extend it for up to 90 days.

Who can apply for this service?

Sirajudeen Ummer, Business Development Manager at Supreme Business Services, reiterated that this new service from ICP can only be applied for when the visa holder is still outside the UAE.

“All tourist visas issued by ICP can be extended by 60 days through this one ICP service,” he said.

To apply for the service ‘extend entry permit’, the sponsor of the visa will have to approach ICP or its registered typing centre. However, you should ensure that if you are extending your visit visa, your passport is valid for at least six more months.

What is the cost of the service?

According to the ICP website, the cost of extending the visa validity depends on the type of visa you are trying to extend.

Tourist or visit visa, which can be extended for up to 60 days – Dh610 Visa for GCC residents, which can be extended for up to 60 days – Dh710 Visa for medical treatment, which can be extended for up to 90 days – Dh510 Visa to study, which can be extended for up to 90 days – Dh610

How long does it take to receive the extension?

The entry permit is issued within 48 hours, if the application meets all the requirements, and sent electronically to the email address registered with ICP.

Before October 03, 2022, all visitors coming to Dubai came by an  on-arrival visa  or pre-arranged  Dubai visit visa  for 1 month & 3 months. From October 03, all emirates issuing 60 days visa, including Dubai & 90 days, has been removed. Now visitors to Dubai can apply for a 60 days Dubai visa simply via a Tourism Company like Arabiers.

The 60 days Dubai visa is an entry permit that allows you to enter Dubai and stay for 2 months. The visa was introduced on October 03, 2022, and allows holidaymakers to have more time in Dubai, unlike before, which was only 1 and 3 months .

You can apply for the 60 days Dubai Visa if you meet the qualifications for the 30 days visa. You should note this is a prepaid visa; therefore, you apply before traveling to Dubai.

It is easy to apply for the 60 days Dubai visa through Arabiers. The whole process will be done online, where you will fill in the details. After that, you will be required to submit the following documents;

Once you land in Dubai, you will be issued a visa at the airport without any requirements and for free, valid for 30 days. However, if you would like to stay more days, you can choose to apply for a 60 days visa.

60 Days Visa for 90 Days on Arrival Nationals

If you have a passport or a nationality from the countries listed below, you qualify for a 90-day on-arrival visa and don't have to apply for the Dubai visa. Once you land at any airport in Dubai, you will be issued a visa valid for 90 days. The 60 days visa is not useful for you.

60 Days Visa for Prepaid Nationals

If you hold a passport from a country listed below, you are required to get a pre-arranged tourist visa before traveling to Dubai. You qualify to apply for the 30 or 60 days Dubai visa.

• Sierra Leone
• Trinidad and Tobago
• Turkmenistan

If you need to travel urgently to Dubai, whether you have an emergency or are required to attend an interview, you can opt for the Dubai express visa .  It takes around 4 hours to process.

There are several 60 days Dubai visa extension options available. You can extend your tourist visa or renewal without exiting the country.

Virtual work residency

If you qualify for the virtual work visa, you should choose it instead of the 60 days visa. The reason for saying so is that you also qualify for the virtual work residence permit, which allows you to stay in UAE for one year from the date of issuance. You will not need a guarantor to apply for the residence, and you can extend it for one year.

Requirements

• Passport valid for at least 6 months
• Attach proof of his work for an entity outside the country and that the work is done remotely
• Attach proof that he has earned a monthly income of at least 3,500 us dollars and the equivalent in foreign currencies
• Attach a valid health insurance policy within the country

Job seekers' visa

Before October 03, 2022, anyone traveling to Dubai to find a job had the option to get either an arrival visa or pre-arranged visit visa, allowing one to stay for up to 30 days.

The UAE government introduced the job seeker visa Dubai, allowing you to get a 60-days, 90-days, or 120-day job seeker permit.

Documents Required for Job Seekers' Visa

• Copy of the passport of the job seeker – 6 months valid (required)
• Qualification certificate (required)
• Place of residence (rent contract or hotel reservation)-mandatory for residents only
• Health insurance covers the period of stay (optional)
• Copy of the traveling return ticket (optional)
• Certified account statement (optional)
• Iraqi population card for the beneficiary (optional)
• The Iranian cense amah/ ID card for the beneficiary (optional)
• Pakistani ID card for the beneficiary (optional)

Dubai job seekers' visa rates

The cost for a Dubai job seeker visa differs according to how long you want to stay in Dubai, and Dh1, 025 refundable security deposit, and insurance fee. Hence, the cost for 60 days visa total is dh1, 495; 90 days dh1, 655 and 120 days dh1, 815, according to the ICP website.

The 6 months Dubai visa is reserved for the entrepreneur, investor, genius professional, or top-rated student. The visa cost is around 1150 AED if you are in that category.

You can apply for a  5-year tourist visa  to Dubai by visiting  icp Dubai.  Below are the documents you have to submit during the application.

• Medical insurance (required)

No, there is no 2 monthly work visa in Dubai. You can apply for a job seeker or freelancer visa, valid for 2 years. If a Dubai-based company employs you, you can apply for a residence visa valid for 2 years, and you must be in Dubai every 6 months for the visa to remain valid.

Tourists in the UAE on a 30 or 60 days visit visa can extend their stay within the country by another 30 days. The decision by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA) and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) grants visitors an additional 30 days to explore and enjoy the country’s diverse offerings.

The UAE has implemented several changes in its visa procedures since October last year, marking one of the largest residency and entry permit reforms by the ICP (Immigration and Citizenship Program). Since then, several developments have taken place in the visit visa system of the country.

As per the ICA website, individuals holding a visit visa of 30 or 60 days will now be eligible for an additional 30-day stay, and the maximum extension period for a visit visa holder is 120 days.

A call centre representative of Amer Centre said that a visit visa extension within the country is possible and “one must contact their visa issuing agent to for the extension."

Maximum extension

According to a call centre representative at ICP, it is possible to obtain a visa extension within the country for a period of 30 days. This extension applies to both long-term and short-term visit visas. However, it is important to note that the total duration of stay within a year should not exceed 120 days.

The call centre executive clarified, “If a visitor is on a 30 days visa, the extension can be possible up to 120 days (30 days on each extension),” added the executive.

Procedure for extension

"If a tourist or a visitor would like to extend their stay, they should contact the issuing travel agent or sponsor," said Firose Khan, operation manager at Arabian Business Centre.

"Your sponsor or travel agent who issued the visa can provide you with information on the extension process, required documentation, fees, and any other relevant details. It's important to initiate this process well before your current visa's expiration to allow sufficient time for the extension to be processed," added Khan.

Documentation required

The visitor’s passport is required to extend a visit visa. The issuing agent will provide more details on the required documents.

Time duration for extension

The process may take a few days from submitting the documents depending on your travel agent who applies for the service. However, on the ICP website, the “time to complete the service after its requirements are completed is 48 hours,”

Extension charges:

“The cost of extension for a month is Dh1,050,” said Khan.

The GDRFA elaborated the costs of extension and gave a breakdown of the rates on their website.

Visa extension fee: Dh600, in addition to the value-added tax (5%).

Additional fees (if the sponsored person is inside the country):

Knowledge dirham : Dh10

Innovation dirham : Dh10

Fee inside the country: Dh500

The website also mentioned, “The total amount of the visa may vary depending on the circumstances surrounding the sponsored person or for any other reasons that may require that,”

On ICP website, the cost vary.

Request fee: Dh100

Issuance fee: Dh500, and other related charges are applicable.

The website also mentions the application for an extension of entry permit for tourism is made through the tourism companies. Agents have urged the visitors to leave the country before the visa expiry or extend their visas to avoid attracting any penalties or difficulties while exiting.

This extension caters to various purposes, including tourism, family visits, business meetings, and other personal matters. "Visitors can utilise this extra time to explore the country's iconic landmarks, indulge in shopping, savour culinary delights, or simply relax in the UAE's world-class hospitality," said Khan.
