But not ours.

BELLA is a stylish and modern everyday Side Pannier made of water-resistant fabric. With a larger main compartment and two smaller internal pockets, it is easy to keep all your things neatly organized.

9 of our favorite golf travel bags to consider for your next golf trip

20200305 Travel Bags.jpg

The proper golf travel bag is necessary for anyone hitting the road. A travel bag needs to check all the boxes —durability, pocket space, padding and an internal strap to keep the bag snug and not moving around inside—the difference-maker is the much-appreciated ability to effortlessly move through the airport. Wheels to allow you to move through the airport with minimum effort is also key.

If you're reading this, it's not too late. You've likely done the hard part—booking your next golf trip. Now you need to figure out how to get your golf clubs safely to your destination. We're here to help, here are a few of our favorite travel bags that'll make things a little easier whenever you hit the road again. RELATED: The best travel cover for golfers

Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian

Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian

The Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian is large enough to hold anything from a standard carry bag to the largest of cart bags. There are enough pockets to store everything from a pair (or two) of golf shoes, raingear, a dozen balls and, on the way home, probably a bag of dirty laundry. At the airport, the pivoting wheels make maneuvering through check-in a breeze.

Caddymatic Hard Top Shell Padded Travel Cover with Wheels

A durable, polyester lower half folds up inside the hard top to make it easier for storage. The shell top of the bag helps protect clubs from damage in transit.

Sun Mountain Kube Travel Cover

This might be the most innovative option in this group. The Kube folds into a versatile little square, making it convenient for condensing in size when your bag's not in there (think in the trunk of your car on a golf trip, or in storage when you're not on a trip).

TourTrek TC PRO Travel Cover

Best Golf Travel Bags 2024 – Hard and Soft Cases

Last Updated on January 16, 2024 by Matt Greene *Read our  review guidelines .

What are the best golf travel bags for airlines? You want a strong bag to protect those valuable clubs because airlines do not like paying you for broken clubs.

I've traveled to 15 countries with my clubs and never had a single breakage. That's a combination of both the right golf club travel bag and expert packing.

I've been on some of the worst airlines you can imagine and never had a breakage. I'm confident that you'll make the right choice after reading this article. The best golf travel bag currently is the SKB Deluxe Hard Cover golf bag .

Best Golf Travel Bags for Airlines in 2023

  • SKB Deluxe ATA Hard Cover (best value with superior guarantee)
  • CaddyDaddy First Class Premium  (best for frequent travelers - airline guarantee)
  • Club Glove Last Bag Soft Cover (more spacious - used by Tour pros)
  • CaddyDaddy Enforce Hybrid Cover (lightweight soft-hard combo)
  • Sun Mountain Club Glider Meridian Soft Cover (easiest for check in)
  • GTB Caravan 3.0 Soft Cover (best cheap travel bag)

*All of these bags are compliant with airline policies. The only thing to remember is the weight restrictions and to double check the airline policies to ensure once the bag is packed, it doesn't exceed maximum weight - usually around 50 lbs.

SKB Deluxe ATA Golf Travel Bag

A Sherman tank with a million mile warranty

skb golf club travel case

The American-made SKB Deluxe is made of molded polyethylene which makes it not only dirt and moisture resistant but extremely strong. So strong in fact, that the manufacturer offers $1500 club coverage and a million mile guarantee on the case.

With that sturdiness and strength comes a bit of extra weight though and at 18 lbs, the SKB travel bag isn't light. With your bag loaded inside, you might have enough airline weight allowance for a pair of golf shoes.

You'll be able to put pretty much any bag in here but it works especially well for good 14 way stand bags and push cart bags . It's a tight fit for larger cart bags and staff bags but with a bit of effort, it'll hold it all. The inline skate wheels make wheeling this solid structure around very easy.

There are three locks on the bag and keys are included. A TSA lock is included which is fantastic because this bag is a magnet for TSA and will be checked. It's always best not to put too much loose stuff in the case because the ever reliable TSA will reliably lose it for you.

One of the other areas that could be improved actually, are the locks. They could be made of a material more in-line with the sturdiness of the case but are made of a hard plastic. They do however work very well.

This is easily the best hard case golf travel bag on the market.

  • Extremely strong - probably the last travel bag you'll buy
  • Fits even tour staff bags
  • Incredible $1500 club coverage and million mile warranty
  • Comes with TSA approved lock
  • Water and dust resistant
  • Heavy at 18 lbs

Caddy Daddy First Class Premium

Best bag for frequent travelers

first class caddy daddy

The First Class Travel Cover is uses the very best YKK zippers and has a wheelbase that let's the bag stand by itself. but the clincher for the CaddyDaddy is that CaddyDaddy covers any damage caused by airlines for 2 years on the the First Class model with no limitations.

Two layers of EVA foam protects your clubs and internal pockets can be stuffed with clothes and shoes to add extra protection. The First Class Travel golf bag has been made purposefully with the golf traveler in mind whether by air or road.

Material:  1000D Ballistic nylon Dimensions:  15 x 13 x 51 inches Weight:  10 pounds Wheels: 2

  • Durable construction with tough nylon fabric
  • Big pockets to store more items like balls and shoes and alcohol
  • Heavy duty wheels that won't break all the time
  • Two year replacement warranty even if the airlines damage your bag
  • No hard cover option in this bag

Club Glove Last Bag

Trusted by Tour pros and comes in 20 colors

club glove golf club travel bag

This travel golf bag from Club Glove is spacious and strong enough that it is the most trusted bag on the PGA Tour among the pros. It's water resistant and comes in 20 colors.

it can hold even a big Tour bag and two pairs of shoes. There's just so much space and with the light weight, you have 40 lbs to stuff everything you can into your golf bag. It's made in the USA and includes high quality YKK zippers and ITW Nexus buckles and if you know anything about zippers and clasps, these are the highest quality. Placing your clubs inside the bag is easy and once you zip it closed, you can then connect the buckles for a tight fit without any club rattle.

Materials: 1000 D nylon/cordura Dimension:  51 x 19 x 16 inches Weight: 10.6 pounds Wheels:  2

If you want to add another level of club safety in a soft cover bag, take a look at  the Stiff Arm  and for TSA approved locks, you can't go wrong with a cheap  Master lock .

  • Very roomy inside
  • Excellent zipper and clasp system to keep clubs from rattling around
  • Lifetime warranty - trusted by Justin Rose, DJ, Justin Thomas
  • Extra padding around where the club heads go
  • Very pricey

CaddyDaddy Enforcer travel bag

Lightweight budget option for stress-free packing

caddy daddy constrictor 2 golf bag

The CaddyDaddy Enforcer Hard top is a hybrid golf travel bag so it has a soft body but a top piece which is hard. There are two huge pockets on the side of the Enforcer which hold your shoes, jackets and some sneaky extra luggage.

When I store the Enforcer when I'm not traveling, the soft part of the bag folds into the top hard case. You zip it closed and it's a compact package to put inside a cupboard. Easy storage.

Materials:  1800D fabric Dimension: 51 x 13 x 15 inches Weight:  9 pounds Wheels:  2

  • Very well priced
  • Business card window on the fancy baggage tag means it's not getting stolen
  • Internal compression straps to stop bag movement
  • Loads of storage space internally and externally
  • Very easy to store when you're not using it
  • Cart bags or stand bags fit in here easily
  • Internal strap not the best for holding clubs in place
  • Reinforcement around your clubs is advised as there is not much padding

Sun Mountain Club Glider Meridian

Easiest to wheel through check-in lines

club glider golf bag

The Sun Mountain ClubGlider Meridian golf travel bag will glide with you at the airport on the four wheels with ease. This golf travel bag won the  Golf Digest Editors’ Choice award six years in a row.

There is a second set of wheels that retract along with the built-in inline skate wheels. You can pull your bag everywhere around the airport, never feeling the full weight of the bag. The ClubGlider takes all thr weight off your arm. The bag never topples over despite being top heavy with your irons.

The Sun Mountain has enough space for your golf bag with club, a small carry on and golf shoes. There's a one year warranty on the Club Glider Meridian travel bag itself but not on your clubs which the SKB does offer at a lower price point.

Overall, a nice bag that will need a bit more support around the club heads but there is no easier golf travel bag to wheel around.

Material: Ballistic nylon Dimensions:  52 x 14 x 14 inches Weight:  11 pounds Wheels:  4

  • Sole focus here is to wheel your bag around super easily
  • Four wheels turn the bag into a trolley on its own - easy for check in
  • Takes weight off your arm and with carabiners can be used to attach other bags like a train
  • Excellent color options
  • Main zipper isn't designed for a lock
  • External pockets extend inward not outward
  • Not much padding around clubs

Golf Travel Bags Caravan 3.0

Super value for money very under budget

golf caravan golf club travel bag

Excellent external pockets and riveted handles make the Caravan 3.0 extremely high value. There is little difference between this bag and the Constrictor 2. The weight is similar and the setup is almost identical.

There's plenty of space inside to pack everything you could need on your golf trip. The two pockets on the exterior easily fit one pair of golf shoes each. While this bag isn't going to last forever like an SKB or Club Glove, it's a great budget option if you don't travel extensively with your clubs.

Bag Boy Back Bone

This little stick will prevent the force from a golf bag being thrown around from impacting your club heads. It keeps the top of the bag firm and stops crushing forces pushing down on the driver and longer clubs. This will prevent snapped shafts in soft cover travel bags.

Bag Boy Backbone

Key features of a golf travel bag

Lightweight is best because of baggage weight restriction.

This is very important because some airlines restrict the weight of sports equipment. Do you travel low-cost or full-service most of the time? Check airline rules - generally 50 lbs total is about the norm for sports equipment.

Depending on how frequently you travel, it’s important to get one that is relatively easy to transport back and forth. If you’re older or have some back issues, I recommend getting a lighter, soft shell bag to ensure it’s easy to get them in and out of the trunk.

No need to suffer a pointless injury on the way to your golf vacation. Plus, weight is a big factor for how much it costs to shipping your golf gear as well. Depending on the airline, if you go over a certain limit you’ll have to pay even more money each way.

Also, it’s important to note unlike bags, these do not come with a shoulder strap and you’ll always have to push or pull it.

High quality wheels makes transport easy

The wheels make moving the bag around so much easier than carrying so I've featured only wheeled bags here.

I struggled for too long with a carry travel bag.

Some bags have spinner wheels to change direction easily but most will only have two and you have to hold the handle at the top of the bag as you wheels it around. This can be cumbersome to change direction but if the airports are not too crowed, you'll be okay.

Side pockets  can contain more gear

You need pockets for accessories, clothes and golf shoes. On the trips where weather may be variable and you need a lot of layers or jackets, it's always better to have too much storage than too little.

You want to know how much space is inside the bag as well.

Outside the bag, the soft cover cases are better as they have zippable pockets whereas the hard cover have none.

Hard shell or soft cover bags need different storage space

Hard cases will be heavier and more difficult to store in a small space when you're not using them.

A soft cover bag can be folded up and placed in a cupboard.

The hard case offers superior protection to your shafts and clubheads while the soft cover will need a stiffener like a bag boy stick or a lot of extra padding made up of golf shoes, towels, clothes and headcovers.

I use a hybrid bag which has a soft cover around the bottom of the golf bag but a hard cover on top just around the clubs.

Warranties are important for protection

Double check the warranties of the companies who make the bags. Some of them extend for a year or two and you might even find some that cover the damage to clubs, as well as even damage to clubs inflicted upon your bag by the airlines!

Approve locks and padlocks make TSA inspections easy

TSA will check certain bags and some do come with TSA locks otherwise purchase a TSA-approved lock from Master.

High price high quality

Like anything in golf, you get what you pay for.

When it comes to a golf travel bag, I like to get the best travel bag for my golf bag that I can.

I do not have much storage space at home so I prefer not to go with an entirely hard case. I like to fold it up and place it in the closet. That led me to the case which has a hard top and a soft bottom but with a lot of external storage because I go for longer trips and I like to squeeze in extra jackets and socks.

I got the most expensive one I could afford and I have not experienced a single breakage.

How I pack my golf clubs for travel safely

This is by no means pretty, but it is effective. If you don't want to buy a travel bag or you want a soft cover travel bag, you can do this.

  • Clip on your rain cover and unzip to let it hang loose. It's easier to do the final step if you put the cover on now.
  • Unscrew the driver head from the shaft and put the shaft into the bag with the clubs. If your driver doesn't unscrew, go to the next step.
  • Put your woods and hybrids upside down into the bag. Be sure to put some old socks on the heads to prevent scratches.
  • Bunch the shafts that are sticking out the top together and put your umbrella in the bag to act as a splint for more support.
  • Turn your irons in so the toes are all facing your woods' shafts and bunch them all together and wrap a towel (or two) around the whole set.
  • Once the towels are tightly wrapped around the club heads, zip up the club cover.
  • Put the driver head and wrench into a jacket and place it in a secure pocket.
  • Use cellophane wrap and masking tape to wrap it all up for a budget version of the airport service

The best travel bags are expensive and they're expensive because they last.

An SKB hard case will serve any golfer well and for the price, there is little reason to get a soft cover travel bag for airlines.

If a hard cover bag is not ideal and storage becomes a pain in the butt, the high-priced Club Glove is virtually indestructible and protects your golf clubs amazingly.

For those who don't like lugging a golf travel bag around by a flimsy handle, the Sun Mountain makes travel easy.

These three are the best golf travel bags for airlines hands down.

Travel Tips 2024

1. Pack smart and start with an empty bag. If you start packing with an empty bag, you are less likely to bring prohibited items to the checkpoint. Not sure what’s prohibited? Visit our “ What Can I Bring?” webpage.

Know the 3-1-1 liquids rule. Remember, if you can spill it, spray it, spread it, pump it or pour it, then it is a liquid and must be packed in your checked bag. Pack liquids, gels and aerosols larger than 3.4 ounces in a checked bag to avoid having the carry-on bag pulled aside, opened by a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), and then potentially having to voluntarily abandon the item because it is over 3.4 ounces. If you are traveling with an infant, most items in your diaper bag are exempt from TSA’s 3-1-1 rule. Breast milk, powdered formula, baby food, bottles and sippy cups are all allowed to fly in the passenger cabin of the aircraft. This also goes for liquid and cream medications. Please separate these items from your bag and place them into a different bin for X-ray screening. If your item alarms, additional screening may be required.

2. Arrive early. Travelers are taking to the skies in record numbers, so plan to arrive at least two hours prior to your flight’s scheduled boarding time to allow enough time to park, navigate to the terminal, check luggage with the airline if needed and go through security screening before arriving at your gate. Arrive at least three hours before international flights.

3. Bring an acceptable ID. Before heading to the airport, make sure you have acceptable identification and make it a REAL ID since you must have a REALID -compliant ID to fly by May 7, 2025.  Visit the TSA website to learn which IDs are accepted by TSA at the entrance to the security checkpoint. Identity verification is a critical step of the screening process.

4. Do you carry a firearm? Prepare, pack and declare . If you plan to travel with a firearm, you must properly pack the firearm in a hard-sided, locked case in your checked luggage and declare it with the airline while checking in at the airline ticket counter. Bringing a firearm in your carry-on bag to a TSA checkpoint, even accidentally, is expensive and will cause delays for you and others, even if you have a concealed carry permit or live in a constitutional carry jurisdiction. If you bring a firearm to the security checkpoint on your person or in carry-on bag, TSA will contact law enforcement, who may arrest or cite the passenger, depending on state law. TSA may impose a civil penalty up to almost $15,000 for the first offense, and those who bring a firearm to a security checkpoint will lose TSA PreCheck® eligibility for five years. Second violations will result in permanent disqualification from the program and additional civil penalties. When traveling, be sure to comply with the laws concerning possession of firearms as they vary by local, state and international laws.

5. Be aware of new checkpoint screening technology. TSA uses a variety of methods and technologies to enhance security effectiveness, efficiency and the passenger experience. Screening protocols vary from airport to airport, depending on available technology and the current threat environment. Some airports use the second generation of Credential Authentication Technology ( CAT ), called CAT-2 units. This technology confirms the authenticity of a passenger’s identification credentials with their acceptable photo identification  (ID) along with their flight details and pre-screening status, but with an added camera feature. The facial recognition technology TSA uses helps ensure the person standing at the checkpoint is the same person pictured on their ID. Photos are not stored or saved after a positive ID match has been made, except in a limited testing environment for evaluation of the effectiveness of the technology.

Passenger participation is voluntary. If a passenger chooses not to have their photo taken, they may have their identity checked manually without penalty or losing their place in line. Passengers who do not want their photo taken should alert the TSO, who will verify their ID using the CAT machine only. For more information on how TSA is using facial recognition technology, see TSA’s Privacy Impact Assessments , Fact Sheet and biometrics technology webpages.

Several airports have installed Computed Tomography (CT) units. This technology significantly improves scanning and threat detection capabilities for carry-on bags. CT units give TSOs the ability to review a 3D image of passengers’ bags and reduce the need to physically search the contents of the bag. In airports with these CT units in place, you do not need to remove your 3-1-1 liquids or laptops, but you must place every carry-on item, including bags, into a bin for screening. TSA reminds you that you may only bring at maximum one carry-on bag and one personal item through security screening

6. Travel with ease with TSA PreCheck. Join more than 20 million members benefiting from the TSA PreCheck Trusted Traveler program . TSA PreCheck passengers are low-risk travelers who do not need to remove shoes, belts, 3-1-1 liquids, food, laptops and light jackets at the security checkpoint. Wait time standards for TSA PreCheck lanes are under 10 minutes, whereas standard screening lanes are 30 minutes and under. Visit www.tsa.gov/precheck for more information on enrolling with one of TSA’s three enrollment providers. TSA PreCheck members are reminded to make sure their Known Traveler Number (KTN) is in their airline reservation, so it appears on their boarding pass.

7. Call ahead to request passenger support. If you or a family member require additional assistance through security screening, you may request a TSA Passenger Support Specialist (PSS). A PSS is a TSO who has received specialized training, including how to effectively assist and communicate with individuals with disabilities, medical conditions or those who need general additional screening assistance. Individuals should request passenger assistance at least 72 hours in advance by contacting our TSA Cares passenger support line at (855) 787-2227. TSA Cares live assistance is available weekdays, 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. ET, or weekends and holidays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET. An automated service is available 24/7.

8. Text or @AskTSA before heading to the airport. You can get real-time assistance by texting questions to 275-872 (“AskTSA”) or through @AskTSA on X or Facebook Messenger . An automated virtual assistant is available 24/7. You may also reach the TSA Contact Center at 866-289-9673. Visit our Contact Us page for more information.

9. Listen to and respect frontline employees. Pack an extra dose of patience, especially during these high travel volumes, and show gratitude to all those who are working to get everyone to their destinations safely including TSA and airport personnel, gate agents and flight attendants. Please follow instructions from the TSOs when going through security screening.  Violence and unruly behavior in the transportation systems are not acceptable and result in significant delays at traveler checkpoints. TSOs, along with all frontline airport and airline employees and local law enforcement, are working together to ensure safe and secure travel. Assaulting a TSA employee is a federal offense and will result in penalties and/or arrest.

10. Remain aware. Be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activities. Remember: If You See Something, Say Something™.

It was built from 1475–1479 by an Italian architect and has served as a wedding and coronation place for great princes, tsars, and emperors of Russia. Visiting the inside is like walking through a maze, there are even small signs all around the cathedral tracing where to walk, and pointing you in the right direction! The walls are meticulously decorated and painted with intricate floral designs and religious themes.

The Alexander Garden

Located in the upper garden, towards the main entrance to the park is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier with its eternal flame. This monument was created in 1967 and contains the body of a soldier who fell during the Great Patriotic War!

The park stretches along all the length of the western Kremlin wall for about half a mile. Due to its central location in the city, it’ll be easily accessible when you’re out exploring The Red Square.

Whether you’re spending one day in Moscow, or more, safety is an important thing to keep in mind when traveling to a big city! Overall, Moscow is a very safe place to visit. However, it is always recommended that tourists take certain precautions when traveling to a new destination!

The police in Moscow is extremely effective at making the city a safe place to visit and do their best to patrol all of the top Moscow, Russia tourist attractions. However, tourists can still be a target for pickpockets and scammers.

Moscow has a huge flow of tourists, therefore there is a risk for pickpocketing. Simple precautions will help eliminate your chances of being robbed. Stay vigilant, keep your items close to you at all times, and don’t flash your valuables!

If you’re planning a solo Moscow itinerary, you should have no need to worry, as the city is also considered safe for solo travelers, even women. Stay in the populated areas, try and not travel alone late at night, and never accept rides from strangers or taxis without a meter and correct signage.

The threat of natural disasters in Moscow is low, with the exception of severe winters when the temperature can dip below freezing! Bring a good, warm jacket if you visit in Winter.

However, please note that Russian views on homsexuality are far less accepting than those in Western Europe. Likewise, Non-Caucasian travellers may sadly encounter racism in Russia .

I’m an American Writer in Paris, and These Are 15 Fall French Travel Styles I'll Be Wearing — Up to 70% Off

After more than a decade in France, this writer knows the secret to scoring effortlessly fashionable, European-inspired finds.

travel top bag avs

Travel + Leisure / Reese Herrington

At the end of August, as Parisians start trickling back into the city, the energy changes along with the season. Fall in Paris unofficially kicks off with la rentrée (the return), when shops and restaurants reopen, children head back to school, and friends catch up for apéro (apéritif) and share stories from their summer holidays. After a busy month traveling throughout the South of France , staying with friends in Nice and Monaco, I can’t wait to trade out the contents of my carry-on bag and welcome in a new wardrobe (and cooler weather).

As seasons become more unpredictable around the world, the best way to prep for fall is with layers and a few standout accessories, like a patterned scarf or statement-making bag. The sales in France may have finished in July, but Labor Day is a great excuse for an expat like myself to score deals online and stock up on essentials that’ll have me feeling fresh and ready to herald in the new season. I’ve scoured the sales and narrowed down some of the best finds worth adding to your shopping cart. From comfy Reebok sneakers and high-waisted Everlane jeans to retro round sunnies and a sleek wide-brim fedora, here are 15 items that effortlessly capture the sought-after French girl cool aesthetic — starting at just $8.

J.Crew Denim Barn Jacket

On a recent trip to St. Moritz, I went hiking with a Parisian stylist and instantly fell in love with her laid-back style. Hair up in a messy (but, of course, effortlessly chic) bun with black leggings and an oversized denim jacket worn as a shirt, it was just practical enough for a cool morning in the Swiss Alps but still looked put together enough for a Champagne-filled lunch at slopeside hotspot Paradiso .

This majorly discounted denim barn jacket from J.Crew is similar in style and can be worn on its own over black leather leggings with Chelsea boots or loose over a white T-shirt or silky button-up top. “The weight is the perfect amount to wear over a chunky sweater so you don’t overheat,” said one J.Crew shopper, adding she loved the oversized patch pockets — a flattering design detail adding structure to the relaxed fit.

Madewell Denim Oversized Shirtdress

Madewell's Labor Day sale is one for the record books, and at the top of my wish list is this Denim Oversized Shirtdress that's been double discounted to $39 from $128. A breezy shirtdress is a great piece to transition into fall and show off your summer tan. Roll up the sleeves on warmer days and pair them with fisherman sandals or sneakers. Throw on a pair of thigh-high boots and chunky gold necklaces for a look that’ll really turn heads on a night out in Paris. Or, on cooler evenings, wear it over a pair of tights with ankle boots and an oversized, boxy wool coat and you’ll fit right in with the crowd attending Paris Fashion Week.

Everlane Way-high Jean

Finding a pair of jeans that can transition seamlessly with the seasons isn’t an easy task, especially in a city like Paris where denim is a cornerstone of your wardrobe. This style from Everlane checks all the boxes — the flattering high waist and straight fit from hip to ankle make anyone’s legs look supermodel-long, while the slight stretch in the organic cotton adds a layer of comfort making these an easy go-to when you don’t want to think too hard about what you’re going to wear for the day.

I’m not the only one who is a fan — nearly 1,000 shoppers have given them a perfect, five-star rating, raving in their reviews that the jeans “got comfortable within minutes” and “always get compliments.” One satisfied shopper adds: “First pair of Everlane jeans and let me just say, I love them. They are super flattering and comfortable and make my butt look great — what more could a person ask for?” I completely agree!

Reoria Butsmooth Sleeveless Racer Back Halter Bodysuit

A smooth, tucked-in look that’s sophisticated yet not too fussed up, a bodysuit is a fantastic basic to add to your suitcase. A great piece for layering (which is how the French approach styling), wear it with jeans or wide-leg trousers, with a pair of high-waisted shorts, or paired with a denim jacket and blazer. Dress it up for an evening of drinks and dancing somewhere like Le Carmen in Pigalle or keep it casual with denim and sneakers for a day of shopping and lunch in town.

Reebok Classic Leather Sneakers

Whether you plan to actually make it to the hotel gym or get your steps in strolling the banks of the Seine, this vintage-style pair of sneakers from Reebok doubles as day-to-day footwear and athleisure. The sleek silhouette with its low-cut design and lightweight cushioning make these both comfortable and fashionable, allowing you to pair them with everything from jeans or linen trousers to leather leggings or even a knit midi dress. As one of its five-star reviewers said : “They're super comfy and [you] can wear them with almost everything — [my] best footwear purchase in a long time.”

Tulucky Long-sleeve Striped Round Neck Top

There’s a reason why something becomes a cliché — while stripes are perhaps the style most synonymous with the French, it’s also a look that will never fade from fashion. Unlike berets, my French friends own more than a few striped tops similar to this boatneck, three-quarter sleeve style — which is a year-round wardrobe staple. One of the easiest pieces to pack for a trip to Paris, this top can't be styled wrong. wear it with a pair of dark denim or black jeans, ballet flats, or ankle boots, and a boyfriend-style blazer. Complete the look with cherry-red lipstick and a pair of large gold stud earrings and you’ll instantly blend in with the Parisians.

J.Crew Contrast-trim Cardigan Sweater

A play on the classic Chanel cardigan, this two-tone version from J.Crew is elegant without being too formal. Lighter and more playful than traditional styles, this all-cotton sweater has a youthful feel thanks to the three front pockets and tailored fit that falls just below the hip. Dress it down leaving a few bottom buttons undone and pair it with boyfriend-style light denim jeans and white leather sneakers, or dress it up for a day of cafe- and gallery-hopping around Paris with straight-leg black trousers and a pair of micro-kitten heels.

Kaliyadi Retro Round Sunglasses

It’s taken me a while, but I’ve finally gotten on board with the 1960s-inspired, round metal frame sunglass trend. During the summer, I prefer tortoiseshell cat-eyes or aviators, but for fall, this is a look designers are embracing — and you’ll notice everyone in Paris donning a similar style. If you’re not sold just yet, try out this pair that’s on sale for a mere $10, so you won’t feel too guilty if you lose them while traveling. Even better, despite the price, these shades are shatterproof and polarized, so you’ll look chic and your eyes will be protected from the sun.

Funyyzo High-waist Wide-leg Trousers

When I want to elevate a look, a pair of wide-leg trousers is the quickest way to make an ensemble look sophisticated and put together. On sale at Amazon for just $30, these khaki-colored, wide-leg pants are loose and breathable, but the pleated front adds enough structure so they appear much more expensive than they are. Tone down the look with a white ribbed cotton crop tank or dress it up with a button-up silk blouse and gold buckle-adorned leather belt. The best part is that you won’t have to worry about spending time ironing since the polyester-spandex blend won’t wrinkle — and they’re machine washable, so they’re easy to travel with.

Pro Celia Wide-brim Fedora

Another great way to make an outfit look instantly put together is a hat, and no, berets don’t count. A wide-brim fedora in light beige brightens up an ensemble and can make a simple jeans-and-tee combo really pop. If it’s rainy (which is often the case in Paris in the fall), a fedora offers an extra layer of protection (and you don’t have to stress about a bad hair day). Plus, it’s a stylish addition to a trench coat for a day of train travel. As one shopper raved : “I received many compliments on this hat and no one was more shocked to know it came from Amazon. I can’t wait to order a few more.”

Amazon Essentials Belice Ballet Flat

Fashion, as most of us know, is cyclical, and one trend I’m glad to see returning to Paris is classic ballet flats . A more feminine alternative to lug-sole loafers, these flattering, round-toe shoes are easy to pack in a tote and trade out for heels and can be worn with tights when the weather starts shifting. No need to spend $1,000 on a version from Chanel when this faux leather pair at Amazon is just as chic — and only $22. “These are the best little ballet flats I’ve ever owned,” exclaimed one shopper . “I have tried everything from cheap to designer and still got blisters on the back of my heels. These don’t dig and just get more comfortable every time you wear them.”

Available in regular and wide widths, the memory foam-padded flats have become so popular that they’ve received more than 48,400 five-star ratings from shoppers who love how comfortable and lightweight they are — the perfect flats for vacation.

Makkrom Double-breasted Windproof Trench

A trench coat is another wardrobe staple that defines French fashion, and this one at Amazon is both fashionable and functional. In a city that almost has its own microclimate, where the weather can shift multiple times in a day, a trench offers an extra layer of protection against the rain and wind. And when temperatures start to dip but it’s not cold enough yet for a fall coat, throw this trench on over a cashmere sweater with a silk scarf expertly tied around your neck and you’re ready to brave the elements in the most stylish way possible.

Fonyve Medium Square Satin Scarf

Hermès is to scarves as what Chanel is to purses, and while the gorgeous silk squares crafted at the brand’s atelier in Lyon are truly pieces of art, for most of us, they’re wildly out of budget. An option that is a lookalike of the designer version, this satin silk scarf at Amazon is on sale for $8 and can be tied French-style as a neckerchief or woven around a purse handle. “I purchased two of these for an upcoming trip to Paris, as everyone there wears a scarf in some manner as their go-to accessory,” said one shopper . “They take up absolutely no room in a suitcase and elevate an outfit — versatile and well worth the expense.”

Everlane Glove Mule in ReKnit

As someone who is on the shorter side, I like to sport shoes with a bit of height. Heels in Paris aren’t practical (sorry, Emily in Paris !), but a mule version like these from Everlane is the ideal compromise. Crafted from breathable ReKnit fabric that offers enough stretch while still keeping your feet perfectly in place, these squared-toe, walkable heels are designed to fit like a glove — and according to shoppers, they do. According to one Everlane shopper, “These are stylish, make me look taller and I don’t feel like I am wearing high heels."

The burgundy shade is also a nice touch and pairs perfectly with any neutral-colored ensemble, so they’re versatile enough to wear multiple times throughout a trip, whether with jeans going out to dinner in Paris or with a cinched-waist, A-line dress for date night.

Sézane Milo Vintage Bag

Okay, it's not on sale, but purses are my weakness. Something I quickly realized as a fashion intern years ago in New York is that the right bag and shoes can transform any outfit. While it’s rare that I splurge on a new purse, every so often I find the bag, one that I can’t picture my days in Paris without. Sézane is the epitome of French girl cool, and the Milo Vintage Bag exudes Jane Birkin elegance. I love the combination of suede-like leather and the simple brass buckle in the front. You can even personalize it with monogramming in gold on the back — très chic!

If you're not shopping with a Sézane budget, you can copy the look with these suede crossbody options from Amazon. This newly added burgundy-hued purse is an elegant pick for $20, as is this $40 retro-inspired shoulder bag with leather detailing. And if you love a sale, check out this suede camera bag that's 27 percent off.
