The Shaka Guides for Hawaii are wonderful! The history, culture, nuances, and so much more that are explored for every Hawaiian island tour are a treasure. I have listened to the tour before hitting the road, and then again at the end of the day in the hotel room, just to relive the moments! I’m SO glad I found this app! And the bonus info for eats, and beaches, and, and, and
 unbelievable value for my money!

We’ve done the road to Hana several times. A friend suggested this app and we have to say, it was well worth it. We stopped at so many cool places we wouldn’t have known about without the app.

We used the Shaka guides in Hawaii and found them to be such a great addition to our car rides. The guides directed us to the best spots to visit with lots of interesting stories and music along the way. Super app! Highly recommend it for touring the Hawaiian Islands.

This was so worth the 20 bucks. We had a great time. Left early. Saw everything we wanted to. Great narrator. History lessons. Sweet Hawaiian music. Loved it. Thank you!

We loved the tour of Yellowstone! We had used the app previously for the Road to Hana, and were just as happy with this experience. Interesting facts of the park, helpful tips, and it made our trip fun and easy. Highly recommend!!

Was looking into this for our first trip to Hawaii (multiple islands). I noticed each island had a package and was expecting to pay for each island. When I went to purchase I was wonderfully notified that I could get all 4 islands for less than what I was expecting to pay for three! The directions and narration is great and gives you tons of insight and history. There is so much available with each guide. We only wish we had more time to do it all! We will be back for more! On a side note the only recommendations I have is that the walking guides are not necessarily stroller friendly. While we may be a minority for the people that use the guides a brief "disclaimer" could help. By no means did this detract from the experience, but we just had to find an alternate route and rejoin the tour in progress. Also, although it was only a couple times, a little more notice on a couple of stops/highlights/locations could have been beneficial as the family couldn't decide in time and we ended up just passing them. It was only 2-3 that I remember and not anything major that we missed. Overall I was very pleased with this app and would recommend it to anyone! Also interested to see all the other national parks available as it looks like they are expanding with those!

5 Top Apps for Self-Guided Tours: Create Unique Experiences for every Guest

It's always a thrill to see visitors flock to your doors. Whether you're a museum operator, give guided tours of historic sites, or manage the entertainment at a ski resort, your ultimate goal is to give guests the experience of a lifetime. That's what all the planning, organizing, pomp, and circumstance is about, after all — enriching people's lives and leaving them fuller than when you met them.

When you make your visitors' experience and engagement a priority, your guests are more likely to share the love for your destination. Encouraging folks to explore independently is one of the ways to ensure they have a totally unique experience.

Now, how do you do that? Support your efforts with interactive experience and self-guided tour apps that allow your guests to learn, discover, and explore at their own pace. And what a difference that can make!

How a Self-Guided Tour Can Enhance Your Visitor Experience

An app is the simplest way to implement a self-guided tour for visitors. Their phones are already an extension of how they view and communicate with the world. Your visitors don't want to roam your premises with paper maps. Beyond the environmental implications (and mess for you 🗑), they'll spend so much time trying to follow directions that they won't have the opportunity to be present. Today, self-guided tour apps make it possible (even...easy?) to connect your guests to information without distracting from their environment and surroundings. And they'll stay engaged long after they’ve visited!

Self-guided tours give people the opportunity to explore at their own leisure. Apps provide the support your visitors need to get the most out of the experience. They can include interesting facts and trivia about your destination or exhibit, for example. They can gamify the tour by incorporating a scavenger hunt or a mystery for visitors to solve. Of course, apps are also there to provide the bare-bones support that every participant requires, including routes and maps.

5 Best Apps for Self-Guided tours

If you’re ready to elevate the experience for your visitors, these apps make an enormous difference. Here are five of the best apps for self-guided tours to consider:

Goosechase lets you create interactive experiences that coax curiosity and joy out of every guest. Founded over 10 years ago as a scavenger hunt app, Goosechase has evolved into an app you can build virtually any kind of interactive experience on. Trivia game with strangers? Photo tour of your sculpture garden? Scavenger hunt in a maze of local graffiti alleys? It's all possible.

Use the three Mission types (Photo/Video, Text, and GPS) to construct a checklist of fun things to do or discover at your destination. Used as an interactive tour guide, you can have your guests test their knowledge by answering trivia questions about your latest exhibit or hunting down easter eggs in your art work.

Drive friendly competition amongst guests and see who can do the most ski runs in a weekend by having riders post pics of themselves at the start of every trail. (Even better if they have to strike a pose that represents the trail name!) Inspire exploration at your park by having people GPS check-in at each interest point. The more involvement you ask of your visitors, the more fun they’ll have immersing themselves in your attraction — and walking out far richer in knowledge and enjoyment than they would have otherwise.

a guided tour app

Loquiz is a walking tour guide’s dream because it makes gamifying locations simple. The app includes a variety of built-in templates that are easy to apply to your business. Among the templates is one for tours that makes it simple to create fun and engaging routes for each stop on the tour. Whether your tours take place indoors or outdoors, you can use the app to create useful maps that help people feel more connected to the attraction they’re visiting.

PocketSights

Designed especially for universities, colleges, community organizations, and historic sites, this app allows administrators to create tour routes from scratch. This is especially useful for organizations that may have attractions in unusual locations, like fields or parking lots: your visitors can go anywhere you tell the app to guide them! Using GPS, the app makes it easy for your guests to navigate the tour on their own. Plus, it allows you to include valuable and engaging content about each of the stops, giving people extra incentive to stop and explore while on their tour.

If you’re all about scavenger hunts, Scavify is a great option that allows for a ton of customization. Guests respond to a variety of photo, video, GPS, QR code, and question prompts that get them to engage with your material. Maybe you’re highlighting a new attraction at your museum and want to call attention to its rich subject matter - guests can scan QR codes that reveal more information, or answer trivia questions directly in the app.

STQRY has a variety of platforms to support all types of programming - walking tours, group tours, and even kiosks. Whether you work at a department of tourism or run historic walks through heritage sites in your city, you can use their platforms to create audio experiences, self-guided tours, and even your own apps to introduce visitors to your premises.

14 Advantages of App-Led and Self-Guided Tours

Visiting a new city and want to see the sights solo? Curious about self-guided tours? This post as has all you need to know!

a guided tour app

Over the past decade, app-based and self-guided tours have become a more and more popular way to explore the world around us. They became especially popular during the COVID pandemic as they offered a safe way to see a city without having to worry about coming into contact with too many other people.

Below you can find several advantages to doing self-guided tours based on my experience as a full-time traveler. While I love a good guided tour, sometimes I feel like I am missing out on something and that I don’t have enough time to venture out on my own. I’ve found app-based tours to be a great alternative to a more traditional guided tour for the many reasons below.

Make every adventure unforgettable!

Let’s Roam offers more than 400 different activities in hundreds of locations around the world. We have everything from fun-filled scavenger hunts , boozy bar crawls , spooky ghost tours , classy art walks , and even date nights with a difference . So whatever you’re looking for we’re confident we have an adventure that’s perfect for you and your group! If you find a few that you love, you can even get a monthly membership which gives you access to all of our app-based activities at a lower price. Now that’s exciting!

1. It’s a great way to learn more about your destination.

First and foremost, app-led and self-guided walking tours can be a phenomenal way to learn more about a new destination. Rather than blindly following a tour guide, app-based tours give you the chance to immerse yourself in a destination since you’re the one that is navigating through the city. This is great for people who want to learn as much as possible about a destination but don’t want to be led around a city by a guide.

2. You can do it on your own schedule.

Sometimes there’s nothing worse than reading about a fantastic tour and then realizing that there’s no availability when you’re visiting a city. The great thing about doing a virtual tour is that you can do it whenever suits you best whether that means going out first thing in the morning for your very own sunrise tour or in the mid-afternoon as some post-lunch exercise. It also means that you can do it at your own pace, meaning you can stop to check out the interesting-looking museum that you passed, try a few balls of that delicious-looking gelato that is beckoning to you, or stop for a much-needed coffee after a long day of pounding the pavement.

3. It’s a great family activity.

We all know that traveling with kids can get pretty tricky and that planning a family vacay is hard work. While self-led tours are a great addition to any getaway, they are particularly useful if have kids in tow and you’re struggling to find ways to keep them entertained. There are many interesting kid-oriented app-based tours to choose from which give information in digestible chunks so that visitors young and old can learn more about a place.

App-based tours can often be a better solution than standard guided tours for families since they allow you to move at your own speed and stop for as many bathroom and snack breaks as necessary. Since you’ll likely be doing the tour with only your small group, it also means that you won’t have to worry about bothering other travelers which we all know can get very stressful very quickly!

4. You can tailor them to your own interests.

When you’re on a walking tour, you’re kind of at the mercy of the tour guide and need to stop at all the dedicated stops along the way. However, on a self-guided tour, you can skip places that you’re not interested in. This gives you the chance to spend more time at the places that are calling to you and less time at the places that you aren’t particularly interested in. This tailor-made tour helps you make the most of your limited vacation time and honestly, what is not to like about that?

5. There are tons of options to choose from.

Companies such as Let’s Roam have created a slew of app-led scavenger hunts and walking tours covering not only the highlights of a destination but also some of the lesser-known aspects of it. These “niche” tours are perfect for people who have a particular interest in a city and since there’s no minimum of people needed for the tour to run, you’re guaranteed to be able to go on the tour.

For example, you can spend the morning exploring the Murals of Manhattan and then the evening on a Greenwich Ghost Hunt. In between, you can take a long walk across the Brooklyn Bridge or the Hudson River, explore the Financial District, or even catch a Broadway matinee. Also, if you happen to be thinking about going to college in a new city, you can check the place out with a campus tour first. Or if you’re looking for somewhere new to explore in your city, you could take a tour in your local Chinatown-international district or similar.

6. You can save time.

Researching for and planning a big trip can be very time consuming and can easily begin to feel like a major hassle. App-based and self-guided tours can help you save a ton of time by allowing you to see many of the highlights of a destination. From there, you can decide where you want to return to. The time that you save hurriedly Googling the best things to do in a place can instead be used to enjoy your vacation.

7. You can save money.

Unless you’re an enormous travel budget, there’s a likelihood that you’re trying to save some money at some point during your trip. App-led tours are the perfect way to do just that! Self-guided tours are often considerably cheaper than having a guide present, especially if you’re traveling alone or with a small group. They can also give you the privacy of a private tour without the hefty price tag that usually comes with it, making it perfect for families, couples, and groups of friends who want to spend quality time together with no distractions. This is a great way to save money while traveling on a budget .

8. You know what you’re getting.

Hiring a tour guide can sometimes feel like a bit of a crapshoot. Often you booked up towards your company and you have no idea who the guide will be until the tour actually starts. The quality of the guide can make or break a tour and for people who love to plan everything to the very last detail, this can be a little stressful. With an app-based tour, you can usually read reviews of what past guests have experienced and decide for yourself whether or not you want to go on the tour.

9. You can interact more with locals.

Many travelers hate feeling like they are being herded from one place to another and some guided tours can make you feel like you’re a sheep in a big crowd. Worse, they can make you feel disconnected from the local community. A self-guided tour gives you the time that you need to connect with people rather than feeling like you’re being rushed from one place to another.

10. You don’t have to interact with anyone.

While app-based tours can give you more of an opportunity to interact with locals, they also let you be completely alone if you want to be! Traveling can be exhausting and sometimes, you simply want to walk around on your own and not talk to anyone else (trust me, I know how that is!). With a self-guided tour, you only need to worry about pleasing yourself. That means no small talk with other tour guests, no need to answer a guide when they ask questions, nothing. This can give you the time that you need to replenish your energy without losing valuable travel time.

11. It can help you feel a sense of accomplishment.

Finding your way around a new destination can feel empowering, especially if you don’t speak the local language. However, this feeling of accomplishment can sometimes be lost when you’re simply following a tour guide around. Meanwhile, venturing out completely on your own can feel a bit overwhelming and you may waste a lot of time trying to figure out the layout of a city and what exactly you want to do there.

However, an app-led, self-guided tour gives you the best of both worlds. You get the ease and security of having a “guide” while still feeling like you’re doing it on your own. Best of all, once you get your bearings a bit thanks to the self-guided tour, you’ll then feel even more confident venturing off the beaten track.

12. You can make new friends.

Imagine this
you’re sitting in a hostel in Nashville chatting with some of your fellow backpackers. Someone mentions that they have a fun, app-based scavenger hunt of Music Row on their phone that will take you to all the best places in the city and asks if anyone wants to come. A few hours and some great travel memories later, you’re sitting around a pub or cafe, drinking beer with your new friends! Better yet, you could be on an exciting Nashville Pub Crawl checking out some of the city’s best honky tonks!

App-based tours, scavenger hunts, and pub crawls can be the perfect icebreaker and are a great way to connect with other travelers, even the ones that you haven’t had the chance to meet yet! And since they are very economical, it won’t break the bank either!

13. It allows you to forge your own path.

When you’re on a guided tour, you normally have to stick to a predetermined route and are unable to veer off of that (unless you’re on an expensive guided tour that is!). However, a self-guided tour allows you to forge your own path, regardless of whether that means skipping a few spots on the tour route or even deviating a bit so you can get a closer look at that adorable little alleyway or fascinating church that you just walked past.

Having this kind of flexibility can help you feel like you have gotten the most out of your time in a destination. It also means that you don’t have to worry about spending a lot of time backtracking after a guided tour is over or, even worse, having to figure out where something was again. As you leave on your next flight, train, or bus, you can feel confident that you didn’t miss a thing!

14. You can go on the tour early in the morning.

While getting up super early in the morning during your vacation isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, dawn is one of the best times to take photographs. It’s also a time when most cities are still pretty sleepy and you have the chance to see some of their most popular attractions with no one around. App-based and self-guided tours let you pick your own starting time, allowing you to incorporate your photo session with a tour and effectively kill two birds with one stone.

I know, I know. Waking up early isn’t always fun but believe me, this can be really, really helpful in many European cities that tend to be thronged with tourists most of the year. Rather than fighting the crowds to try and get a good photo of Notre Dame or Florence’s famous Duomo, you can grab a cup of espresso (you may need it by early afternoon!) and relax as you watch the tour groups go by.

Ready to roam?

We hope that this list has given you enough reasons to consider doing an app-led tour on your next trip!

Best Examples & Practices of Guided Tours & Tutorials in Mobile Apps

  • Bartek Dziegiel

What is a guided tour in a mobile app?

Guided tours and tutorials are potent tools to help find themselves in the new app. It allows users to navigate complex interfaces, grasp core functionalities, and ultimately derive maximum value from their interactions with a product.

Guided tours are sometimes also called  walkthroughs  or  product tours . Designers can use guided tours of all types of digital products.

They serve as virtual mentors, accompanying users on their journey through digital experiences. Tutorials can use many different types of guidance, such as

  • providing step-by-step guidance and explanations,
  •  interactive demonstrations,
  •  contextual tips.

Dedicated UI elements provide the instructions. These features shorten the learning curve. Moreover, they empower users to quickly become proficient in using new platforms.

What are the types of guided tours?

There are two main approaches to guide users through a digital product.

One of them is  static onboarding screens.  Those screens appear when users open the app for the first time. They often appear as a slide show – a quick presentation teaching the users how to use the app’s primary functions.

The other is a  contextual instructions  approach in the form of tooltips and coach marks. They provide information relevant to the current layout of the app or website.

This article will discuss best practices from the most popular apps. We will take product tour examples from widely used and successfull apps.

Best examples of guided product tours

№1: take advantage of animated instructions like notion.

Onboarding screens appear right after opening the application for the very first time. They are a great way to welcome new users and show them the apps’ value proposition. For example, Slack, a widely used communication and collaboration platform, takes this approach. App walkthrough informs users, what the app does and what it is for.

4 walkthrough screns. First says "We call it Slack". Next says "It keeps things on topic by giving each project a space of its own." Next says "And brings your team together, so they're just a tap away". The last screen says "That you can get work done no matter where you are".

Alternatively, it is an opportunity to demonstrate the app’s main features. The Notion, productivity and note-taking web application, presents its functions through screens with animations. A short animation showing a screen of the application demonstrates how users can organize their notes.

Notion tutorial screen. The copy says: "Some essential tips: Touch and hold to record any content".

This method is handy when it describes actions that can be taken outside of the platform (like in the “Settings” of the device or actions done in a browser). For example, Evernote, a note-taking and task-management application, uses animation to explain how to save web content.

№2: Use tooltips to present relevant information like Otter

Many modern applications use contextual instruction to demonstrate their functions. Pieces of information nudge users into exploring various features of the app. Tooltips are located near the button that serves the function the tooltip describes.

For example Otter, a transcription software, guides users through the application and demonstrates how to use it using tooltips hovering over certain UI elements. Small arrows at one side of the tooltips draw the user’s attention to specific details. In some cases, Otter uses visual emphasis (like a darker background combined with a contrasting UI element) to further bring users’ attention to the element it describes.

Screens of Otters' guided tour with various tooltips.

№3: Use page indicator and navigation for multi-step instructions like Meetup

A guided tour takes the user through different screens of the app. Tutorials can be done via tooltips describing certain interface elements one after the other.

For its instructions, divided into separated stages, Evernote uses tooltips containing step indicators and buttons that lead from one step to another. They provide navigation through instructions and allow users to take an actual guided tour through the app.

Tooltips of Evernote's guided tour. Near the lower edge of the tooltip box there are for dots, one of them is darker than the others. The darker dot indicates on which step user currently is.

Meetup, a social media platform for hosting and organizing in-person and virtual activities, takes navigation through tutorials even further by allowing users to go back to the previous instruction.

Tooltips of the app Meetups' guided tour, with page indicators.

№4: Make instruction dismissable through skip and close button like Slack

Onboarding instructions appear when a user opens the app for the first time. However, not every person is a first-time user – some of them have previous experience with this interface and do not need this information.

Consequently, it is an excellent strategy to let users to skip or dismiss the tutorials. Lengthy, unskippable introductions can be frustrating for the users.

For example, welcome onboarding screens of Slack are easily skippable through the “Skip” button located at the top right corner. Users can just as easily dismiss the tooltips by using the close icon. Similarly, Otter’s tooltips always include close buttons that let users brush off instructions they are not interested in.

Screen of Slacks' walkthrough with "Skip intro" buttons, tooltips of Otter and Slack that have close icon in the right top corner.

№5: Let the user access instructions again like Evernote

However, allowing users to access instructions again could be beneficial.

Most apps allow users to go through their guided tutorial only once and never again. If users prematurely skip initial instructions, they are left to explore the app on their own.

Providing the option to access instructions multiple times can help to avoid that scenario. Moreover, thanks to that approach, users can reinforce their understanding of the app. They can retake a tour to clarify doubts and refresh their memory on specific tasks or features.

Take an example from Evernote and its approach to guided tours and tutorials. After opening the app for the first time, users’ attention is brought to the “Get Started” widget, which contains six tutorials explaining how to use the app’s different functions.

Users can tour the app, guided by helpful tooltips, as often as they like. Then, the user can remove the widget by customizing the app’s home screen. Through the same function, they can bring the widget back and reaccess the tutorials if some interface elements are unclear.

Screen on Evernotes' tutorial. The tooltip at the top of the screens says: "Learn at your own pace. Complete these 6 tutorials to see how Evernote can help accomplish your goals". Below there is a widget with oprions like "Capture it and forget it" or "Connect to your calendar".

Tour de France 2024 - stage-by-stage guide and results

The 111th edition of the Tour de France gets under way in Florence, Italy on Saturday, 29 June with the three-week race ending in Nice on Sunday, 21 July.

The riders will tackle seven mountain stages including trips to the Pyrenees and Alps during the 3,492km (2,170-mile) race.

There will also be two individual time trials, with La Grande Boucle concluding with a race against the clock for the first time since 1989 - when Greg LeMond famously pipped Laurent Fignon to the yellow jersey by eight seconds.

BBC Sport looks at each stage of the gruelling 21-stage event, analysing where it could be won and lost.

This page will be updated throughout the Tour with the winner and a brief report following each stage.

Saturday, 29 June - stage one: Florence - Rimini, 206km

The Grand Depart takes place in Italy for the first time as Florence plays host to the Tour.

The lumpy route travels east to Rimini on the Adriatic coast and is one of the toughest opening stages in recent memory with seven categorised ascents and 3,600m of climbing on the menu before what could be a fast final 25km to the line.

Sunday, 30 June - stage two: Cesenatico - Bologna , 199.2km

Stage two carries the race across the rolling hills of the Emilia-Romagna region of northern Italy to Bologna, via Imola's famous motor racing circuit, and over the roads that saw Julian Alaphilippe win the World Championships in 2020.

Two climbs up to the sanctuary of San Luca - 1.9km at a 10.6% gradient - in the finale should provide a perfect launchpad for the puncheurs in the peloton to seek stage glory.

Monday, 1 July - stage three: Plaisance - Turin, 230.8km

Three category four climbs do little to alter this from being a guaranteed stage for the sprinters and a first opportunity for Mark Cavendish to claim record 35th stage win.

Tuesday, 2 July - stage four: Pinerolo - Valloire, 139.6km

A taxing day in the saddle sees the race shift from Italy into France and head 2,000m above sea level with a passage through Sestrieres.

A long, sloping ascent straight up a mountain from the roll-out will hardly be relished by the sprinters - but will be welcomed by those aiming to form the breakaway.

A lengthy descent should provide some respite before the climb up the Col de Montgenevre and the mighty Col du Galibier, where there will be an opportunity for the general classification (GC) riders to lay down an early marker.

Wednesday, 3 July - stage five: Saint-Jean-de-Maurienne - Saint-Vulbas, 177.4km

After an arduous day in the Alps, the GC teams will be content to allow the sprint teams to take control.

Two relatively modest climbs offer little encouragement to any would-be escapees and promise a high-speed finish.

Thursday, 4 July - stage six: Macon - Dijon, 163.5km

For a second day on the trot the sprinters will have something to get excited about.

The flat route that winds through the vineyards of Burgundy should again discourage a breakaway and culminates in an 800m dash to the finishing line.

Friday, 5 July - stage seven: Nuits-Saint-Georges - Gevrey-Chambertin, 25.3km

The first of two individual time trials arrives a third of the way into the race.

With both Nuits-Saint-Georges and Gevrey-Chambertin famed for their wine-making, expect wonderful views as the GC action heats up on a short route that seems ideally suited to Remco Evenepoel.

Saturday, 6 July - stage eight: Semur-en-Auxois - Colombey-les-Deux-Eglises, 183.4km

While this stage contains several short and punchy climbs, none are lengthy or hard enough to affect the GC race.

However, if a strong enough breakaway group gets up the road they may be capable of depriving the sprinters of a victory.

Sunday, 7 July - stage nine: Troyes - Troyes, 199km

With 14 gravel sections totalling 32km heading in and out of Troyes, this is likely to be a tense and exciting stage with fights for position before each white section of road.

With punctures, mechanical issues and falls all likely to come into play, splits could well occur between the GC contenders - particularly if the elements turn nasty.

Tuesday, 9 July - stage 10: Orleans to Saint-Amand-Montrond, 187.3km

Unusually there is not a single categorised climb on this parcours, however Saint-Amand-Montrond's exposed roads are notorious for their echelon-marked finales.

If the wind picks up we could be in for an exciting 30km run into the finish line comparable to 2013, when the crosswinds helped scatter the peloton and GC contenders before Cavendish claimed victory.

Wednesday, 10 July - stage 11: Evaux-les-Bains to Le Lioran, 211km

The opening 150km sees the peloton cross the rolling terrain of the Massif Central before the difficulty level ramps up with four categorised climbs in the final 50km.

The Col de Neronne is up first before riders reach the narrow roads of the Puy Mary Pas de Peyrol and a 2km stretch with an average gradient pushing 12%.

The Col de Pertus and the Col de Font de Cere quickly follow before another ramp up to the ski resort of Le Lioran.

Thursday, 11 July - stage 12: Aurillac to Villeneuve-sur-Lot, 203.6km

While the road undulates constantly for the first 135km of the stage the course then flattens out significantly.

That should provide plenty of encouragement for the sprint-orientated teams albeit on the only other two occasions a stage has ended in Villeneuve-sur-Lot - in 1996 and 2000 - a rider from the breakaway has triumphed.

Friday, 12 July - stage 13: Agen to Pau, 165.3km

A transitional stage as the race rolls south towards the Pyrenees.

The GC contenders will look to keep themselves safely positioned near the front of the peloton before the sprint trains assemble for a frantic finish in Pau.

Saturday, 13 July - stage 14: Pau to Saint-Lary-Soulan Pla d'Adet, 151.9km

The riders head into the Pyrenees for the start of a brutal and crucial period in the general classification race.

The iconic Col du Tourmalet, the most-climbed mountain in Tour history, comes first before a modern-day regular, the Hourquette d'Ancizan - climbed six times since 2011 - precedes the summit finish and gradients of almost 12% on Pla d'Adet.

Sunday, 14 July - stage 15: Loudenveille to Plateau de Beille, 197.7km

About 4,500 metres of elevation gain across four category one climbs and a 15.8km slog up the hors categorie Plateau de Beille await on Bastille Day.

On a huge day at the Tour, only strong climbers have any hope of succeeding in a breakaway.

There will also likely be a strong home presence in any group heading up the road with the likes of David Gaudu and Romain Bardet aiming to become the first French stage winner on 14 July since Warren Barguil in 2017.

However, fireworks should also be expected in the yellow jersey group and Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard (if fully fit) could also come into the picture.

Tuesday, 16 July - stage 16: Gruissan to Nimes, 188.6km

The final week of cycling's greatest race gets under way with a predominantly flat run from Gruissan to Nimes straight after a rest day.

On a day tailor-made for sprinters, Cavendish will aim to turn back the clock and repeat his victory from his first Tour in 2008 - in what is expected to be his last.

Wednesday, 17 July - stage 17: Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux to Superdevoluy, 177.8km

Most of the elevation gain in this stage is packed within a demanding final 40km as the Tour travels back into the Alps.

The GC riders will likely eye the penultimate climb up the Col du Noyer to launch any attacks, although with a descent to follow they will need to construct a healthy advantage to make their move stick.

Thursday, 18 July - stage 18: Gap to Barcelonnette, 179.5km

The riders travel through the foothills of the Alps and will cross a number of the smaller peaks in readiness for the three pivotal days to follow.

With the GC riders almost certainly keen to save energy for bigger battles to come, this stage looks perfectly set up for the breakaway specialists to shine.

Friday, 19 July - stage 19: Embrun to Isola 2000, 144.6km

A steady opening 20km will do little to prepare the peloton for several hours of pain to follow.

An 18.8km slog up the Col de Vars is the precursor for the mythical climb up the Cime de la Bonette, evoking memories of the battle between Tony Rominger and five-time champion Miguel Indurain in the 1993 Tour.

At 2,802m it is the highest point in this year's race and is some 22.9km long with gradients kicking up into double digits in the final section.

The day's final climb to the ski resort of Isola 2000 is hardly any more enticing for the vast majority of the riders and will almost certainly ensure more fireworks between those fighting it out for the yellow jersey.

Saturday, 20 July - stage 20: Nice to Col de la Couillole, 132.8km

A short, punishing route with almost 4,800m of elevation that is even more demanding than the day before greets the riders on the penultimate stage of this year's race.

Given the pace at the front of the peloton is likely to be strong throughout the stage, the Col de la Couillole seems the obvious scene for any GC battle.

However, quite how things play out could be determined by existing time gaps and the need to conserve energy for the final individual time trial.

Sunday, 21 July - stage 21: Monaco to Nice, 33.7km

The Tour concludes outside of Paris for the first time since 1905 due to a clash with the Olympics.

It is also the first occasion since 1989 that the concluding leg of the Tour has not been a processional affair.

With an 8.1km ascent of La Turbie that averages 5.6% and a short, sharp climb of Col d'Eze hardly making things easy, riders and teams will have to contemplate tactics and possible bike switches.

Could there be a duel in the sun to decide the yellow jersey and podium places in the most dramatic fashion?

Chris Brown's Bulge Goes Viral After Fans Spot Huge Imprint at Concert

Chris Brown's Bulge Goes Viral After Fans Spot Huge Imprint at Concert

Chris brown bulge goes viral ... imprints seen in concert.

Chris Brown is bringing a lot to the table when it comes to his manhood -- at least that's what the internet thinks after seeing these clips of him onstage ... understandable, TBH.

CB has been on tour of late ... and during one of his recent concerts in Toronto, he was suspended in the air while singing -- with a harness hooked up around his waist/legs ... which pulled on his pants, creating an imprint near his crotch. And yes, everyone noticed.

This dancer got Chris Brown bricked up on stage 😭 I can’t date a celebrity my feelings would be hurt pic.twitter.com/FJrZ4cr06D — WRITE A RAP đŸŽ€ | FAN Account (@WriteARapSis) June 23, 2024 @WriteARapSis

Take a look ... Chris is up there being twirled around, but all anyone was able to focus on from down below was what was going on in his pelvic region -- namely, a massive bulge.

Another clip is going around -- which appeared to be from the same show -- and there too we see a glimpse of a mini mountain forming underneath Chris' pants. A dancer ended up twerking on top of his lap as another rubbed his neck, and CB's body seemed to respond.

Photos of Chris Brown with his fans at the meet & greet are going viral. His fans had to pay $1,111 for the experience, and it's currently sold out in 36 cities. pic.twitter.com/gLby7n0qwJ — My Mixtapez (@mymixtapez) June 7, 2024 @mymixtapez

In each instance ... social media is saying they're impressed by what they're seeing here.

Of course, Chris isn't all that bashful about these sorts of things -- in fact, he completely leans into it ... just take a look at his butt-grab meet and greets for proof. Dude charges girls $1,000 for him to pose in a handsy way around their ass ... and the line's been long!

Anyway, we'll see if the bulge footage causes last-minute ticket sales for his Boston show Wednesday. Like the saying goes ... there's no such thing as bad press!!!

Chris hasn't said anything about this himself just yet ... but the visual sorta speaks for itself!

How do I get around Switzerland?

There are many ways to get around Switzerland , the two main ways are using public transportation and renting a car. I’ll highlight the best way to get to each destination below. This Switzerland itinerary can easily be used with either a car or by train.

If you choose to get a rental car in Switzerland, I always recommend using this site to compare rates and cars.

If you choose to use public transportation in Switzerland, I recommend getting the Swiss Travel Pass to maximize your time and save you money. The Swiss Travel Pass offers unlimited train rides on most lines, free or discounted gondola rides, and discounts to many attractions though Switzerland.

I find that it’s especially worth buying the Swiss Travel Pass if you are planning to visit Zermatt because the expensive Gornergratt train is quite expensive, and it’s half off with the pass. If you’re comfortable riding trains and buses, I think it’s the best way to travel in Switzerland.

Where do I purchase my Swiss Travel Pass?

You can purchase your Swiss Travel Pass here . Just select the correct number of days for your Switzerland itinerary and check out. The pass begins on your selected date and runs continuously. The Swiss Travel Pass comes in. 3, 4, 6, 8, and 15 day increments.

Swiss Half Fare Card

If you’re unsure of your dates or the amount of time your Switzerland itinerary will be, it might be a good idea to purchase a Swiss Half Fare Card instead. This pass is good for one month and will offer 50% off most trains. There seems to be less of a discount on shorter journeys. I prefer to purchase the more expensive Swiss Travel Pass just for ease of use while I am in the country. But the Swiss Half Fare Card may be a better option if you are only planning on taking several long and expensive rail journeys. You can purchase the Swiss Half Fare Card here .

Renting a Car in Switzerland

If you want a little more freedom during your trip, you may want to consider renting a car in Switzerland . You’ll have the ability to reach some more off-the-beaten-path places that trains can’t reach. Driving in Switzerland is easy, especially if you’re from the US because they drive on the right side of the road.

Download the SBB App for Switzerland Transportation

SBB App – Public transportation in Switzerland is shockingly punctual, clean, fast, and efficient. The SBB app will tell you when and where to get your trains and buses to take you where you want to go. This is the most important app you’ll need in Switzerland if you’re only traveling by public transportation.

I hope this guide to Switzerland transportation will help you get around the country with ease. Be sure to check out the most beautiful places in Switzerland and our Switzerland Itinerary.

There are lots of pros and cons to renting a car in Switzerland and using public transportation. Here’s a good list

Here is a list of pros and cons for traveling Switzerland by train vs. by rental car:

Traveling by Train in Switzerland

  • More scenic views out the window
  • Can relax and enjoy the ride
  • No need to focus on driving/navigation
  • Environmentally friendly
  • Arrive directly in city centers
  • Less flexibility with schedule/stops
  • Can be more expensive
  • Limited luggage space
  • More flexibility with schedule and route
  • Can stop wherever you want
  • Usually cheaper than train
  • More privacy
  • Can carry more luggage
  • Less scenic views
  • Have to focus on driving
  • More planning required for navigation
  • Have to find and pay for parking
  • More environmental impact

I hope this helps you plan your trip to Switzerland!

Hike black bear wilderness in Seminole County

SANFORD, Fla. —  The Black Bear Wilderness area in northwest Seminole County features 1,600-acres of wetlands near the St. Johns River.

What You Need To Know

Venture outdoors guides take visitors to try to see florida black bears in the wild the tour is done in the black bear wilderness area of seminole county no guarantee you will see a bear but there are other animals to spot including owls, deer, alligators and snakes tour guide will teach guests about central florida wildlife and learn about plants and the uniqueness of the area.

The public lands are home to deer, wild pigs, alligators and bears.

For three years, tour guide Astrid Jackson has guided guests through this 1,600-acre wetlands, known as the Black Bear Wilderness area . It is a 7-mile trail loop, in the floodplain of the St. Johns River.

“This is probably one of the places where you have the chance of seeing wildlife on a hike,” said Jackson, taking a small group through the wilderness.

One of her favorite animals to spot is the Florida black bear.

She always reminds her guests that there is no guarantee you will see a bear on the tour, since the animals are always on the move.

“It’s best to try to find the black bears in the morning or the evening hours, but you never know,” said Jackson.

Steve Kozerski knows how these bears move in Seminole County. He spends his free time tracking the wild animals by setting up trail cameras in cooperation with the county, capturing creatures on video.

He even has a YouTube channel (Regular Guy) posting some of his favorite finds in the woods.

“I never see the same bears consistently. They are always changing, like they are on shifts,” he said.

The animal tracker believes this is one of the top public areas to see wildlife.

“There are coyotes out here. And owls, red-shouldered hawks, pigs, deer, bears, and a lot of bobcats. You know I want to catch the animals do what they do when people are not around,” said Kozerski.”

Jackson says she never knows what her guests will see on one of her tours. Sometimes it’s owls, centipedes or alligators.

“After they come on a tour with me usually, they realize that alligators are not to be feared. They are to be respected,” Jackson said.

The tour takes three to four hours, walking under a natural canopy of shade. The hike includes boardwalks but mainly dirt pathways.

The black bear discovery hike is $80 per person.

Reservations are made online with Venture Outdoors .
