This year's Neuro Retreat will take place on June 7-9, 2024, at Manoir Saint-Sauveur  in the Laurentians. Ideally located only 45 minutes from Montreal and in the picturesque village of Saint-Sauveur.

The annual Neuro Retreat is always a fantastic opportunity to connect with colleagues, learn about exciting initiatives at The Neuro and to take advantage of the local surroundings. This year will be no different! 

The collegial and interactive environment characteristic of our retreats provides an ideal forum for fostering interactions among members of the Neuro community, as well as with colleagues from across the McGill campus. Together, we strive to build an even stronger and more integrated network that will work together to accelerate the pace of scientific discovery and treatment of neurological diseases and disorders.

This year’s program includes a combination of lectures and symposia. We will learn about the activities and key priorities of the Cognitive Neuroscience Unit and the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre (BIC), as well as other key research and clinical programs at The Neuro including a talk on the integration of Research and Clinic (by Jo Anne Stratton) and Building Next Gen Brain Imaging Tools for Population Neuroscience and Global Health (by Udunna Anazodo). The retreat will feature a spotlight on international collaborations, new recruits and on patients from a nurses perspective. 2024 will mark two important milestones - The Neuro’s 90th anniversary and the BIC’s 40th.

As in previous years, our program also includes team building integrated within the program, and extra-curricular activities aimed at further connecting our community and reinforcing our common goals.

Hiking on Mont Saint Saveur

The trails are accessible at walking distance from the hotel. A group guided hike departs at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, June 8. Moderate level hike, approximately 2 hours in length. Organized by The Neuro team.

Yoga for all levels. No experience needed. Sign up in advance (preferred) or with the Neuro Event team at the retreat. The classes will take place Saturday and Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. Bring your towel or yoga mat, comfortable clothing is recommended. Cost is $20 payable in advance. Organized by The Neuro Team.

Art Activity

Painting for all levels. Create an original artwork using paint. Materials supplied by The Neuro. Painting will take place Saturday between 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Organized by The Neuro Team.

Experience a 45-minute scenic run, tailored for intermediate to experienced runners. The run is scheduled on Saturday morning, commencing at 7:45 a.m. Organized by The Neuro Team.

Enjoy a variety of summer adventures, including hiking, swimming, ziplining, and biking. For those who prefer indoor pursuits, immerse yourself in wine tastings, explore art galleries, or unwind at local spas.
