Royal Blood Announce U.S. Headlining Tour + Support Dates for the Pixies

After a triumphant U.S. visit last month (watch the highlight video above) that included sold-out shows in New York and Los Angeles, their U.S. television debut on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' and meeting the legendary Jimmy Page, the U.K. duo  Royal Blood are returning to North America for more tour dates.

They kick of a headlining tour July 15 in Charlotte, N.C., and will also play Lollapalooza on Aug. 1. Royal Blood have support dates with Arctic Monkeys and Portugal, as well. Then beginning Sept. 27 in San Diego they embark on a North American tour with the Pixies.

In a recent interview with 'Loudwire Nights' host Full Metal Jackie, vocalist / bassist Mike Kerr discussed the most creatively satisfying part of playing as a duo.

I guess it would be the limitations, really," Kerr says. "The decisions can be made very quickly when writing music together, I find. When it’s two of you, it’s quicker and it’s simpler, particularly in our situation where it’s just one instrument and drums and a vocal. You find there’s a lot of freedom to go where you want without much talking. You can be free and just play music together."

Talk about working a crowd into a frenzy...Mike Kerr of Royal Blood did just that last night @ jannus live. Ben Thatcher was a crowd favorite...so much energy and skill on the skins and with the crowd, he rallied the troops throughout the entire show. Special thanks to TurboWolf for an excellent set to get the crowd into the onslaught of power rock by these two talented Brits. Very engaging with the crowd...Royal Blood has a true cult following in the Tampa Bay area....all ages...all persuasions were kicking up their heels for this show.

Although this was only my second rock concert, it's definitely going to outdo any show in my concert-going future. The energy from Mike and Ben radiated into the crowd, and being on the barrier was a dream come true. sure, my neck experienced *some* pain from excessive headbanging, but my mood was not phased one bit. Mike and Ben are truly a bloody insane duo, and they kept the energy all the way up to 11 the whole time. I've been obsessed with them for about a year, and they managed to sound even better live than in the studio. Absolutely no doubt that I'm DEFINITELY going to see them again when they come around next.

The concert was great. The band played all of their best songs and the solos were the highlights of the night. I really liked the intro too because it was in a Christmas mood. Carol of the bells is definitely my favorite Christmas song after this concert. I really liked how the singer sang everything through without skipping any parts in songs. The quality of the performance was on top and my friend and I had a very good time on the concert. I am very grateful that the band made it to Zurich after all. It was very cool and remarkable. Even the warm-up band before Royal Blood was very cool which I honestly didn't expect. All in all, I was very happy with the performance and how the band cheered up the audience. The atmosphere in the hall was crazy and very rock-n-roll. I really hope to see the band here again.

Royal Blood Announce 2023 North American Tour

The post Royal Blood Announce 2023 North American Tour appeared first on Consequence .

Royal Blood have announced an extensive two-leg 2023 North American Fall 2023 tour in support of their recently announced forthcoming album, Back to the Water Below .  The outing will feature support from Bad Nerves on the first leg and Hot Wax on the second leg.

The first leg of the UK duo’s stateside tour will kick off on September 16th at the Sea.Hear.Now festival in Asbury Park, New Jersey, and wrap up October 3rd in New York City. The second leg launches November 9th in Los Angeles and finishes November 27th in San Diego.

A Live Nation pre-sale begins Wednesday (May 31st) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster using the code ICONIC . General sales start Friday, June 2nd. Alternatively, fans can also check for deals or pick up tickets to sold-out shows via StubHub , where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.

As mentioned, Royal Blood are set to release the new album Back to the Water Below , which arrives on September 8th. Judging by the first single, “Mountains at Midnight,” the band appears to be returning to a more hard-rocking vibe after delving into dance and alternative sounds on their previous effort, 2021’s Typhoons .

Hopefully, Royal Blood get a better reception on the North American tour than they did this past Sunday during their gig at BBC Radio One’s Big Weekend in Dundee, Scotland. Frontman Mike Kerr was clearly unhappy with the crowd’s lack of enthusiasm, lambasting them from the stage and flipping them off as the band wrapped up the performance.

Preceding and in-between the North American legs, Royal Blood will be playing shows in Europe and the UK. See their complete itinerary below, and pick up tickets here.

Released in September 2023, Royal Blood's fourth album Back To The Water Below has incited widespread tastemaker applause. NME raved, “The duo's self-produced new album sees them tap back into the undeniable chemistry that they made their name on.” From lead singles “ Mountains At Midnight ” and “ Pull Me Through ” to bonus track “ Supermodel Avalanches ,” the album sees the band at the top of their game.

When Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher started work on Back To The Water Below, they cast aside any preconceptions of what their band could be. They allowed themselves the freedom to embrace other ideas, at times being guided by melodies rather than riffs and rhythms, and at others deploying whatever instrumentation they felt best complemented the songs.

Key to achieving their creative liberation was the decision to produce the record entirely independently for the first time — not to mention, having the freedom to stroll down to their studio space near their homes in Brighton whenever a moment of inspiration struck. While everything had changed for Royal Blood over the course of the previous decade, the reason for forming the band was completely unchanged: the simple joy of Mike plugging in, Ben picking up his sticks, and the pair making a racket for the sheer fun of it.

Royal Blood Announce North American Tour Dates

Royal Blood Tour Dates

Royal Blood have announced an extensive North American tour in support of their upcoming album, Back To The Water Below .  The tour news arrives on the heels of last week’s album announcement and new single, with general ticket on-sale arriving on Friday, June 2nd at 10:00AM local time.

As previously announced, Royal Blood’s fourth full-length studio album Back To The Water Below is set for release on September 8th via Warner Records and is their strongest, hardest-rockin’ body of work to date. The album’s lead single “ Mountains At Midnight ” is available now.

Back To The Water Below is now available to pre-order now. In addition to its digital release, physical formats include deluxe vinyl (packaged with a bonus 7” featuring two additional tracks) and two cassettes, all of which are available exclusively from Royal Blood’s official store. Amazon will stock an exclusive gold vinyl, while HMV (UK only) and select indie stores offer an exclusive clear vinyl. The range is completed by a CD and a regular black vinyl.

New single “Mountains At Midnight” provides a fresh take on the old school Royal Blood prototype – albeit with a supercharged rush. Mike Kerr inventively layers a heavyweight wall-of-sound solely with his bass, while Ben Thatcher’s rhythms simultaneously swing with a spacious groove while pummeling us into submission. Mike’s lyrics complement the song’s ominous, foreboding ambiance with vehement menace: “I’m a ticking timebomb hooligan come to light your fuse / 24-carat thug in a velvet glove.”

Royal Blood present plenty of surprises without ever compromising the essence of their identity. “Shiner In The Dark” sets a rock ‘n roll swagger to the tight, danceable rhythms that defined the 2021 album Typhoons. Devoid of distortion, “The Firing Line” represents a bigger departure, its ‘90s alt-rock tone and an underbelly of psychedelia later elevated by a chiming piano melody. “Pull Me Through” goes further still, uniting the plaintive piano that fans loved in the live favourite “All We Have Is Now” with a full-blooded denouement. They’re also songs which will not only provide a broader spectrum of moods for live shows, but that will offer the dynamic contrast to amplify the power of their most fiery moments.

Ahead of their new album ‘Typhoons’ being released next Friday, Royal Blood have today announced their biggest headline show to date at The O2 on Wednesday 30 March 2022.

They will be joined by special guests The Amazons in support.

From ‘Trouble’s Coming’ to ‘Boilermaker’ , Royal Blood’s recent releases are making a phenomenal impact. After three consecutive Hottest Records courtesy of Annie Mac at Radio 1, another 50 million streams and the biggest North American airplay of their career, next Friday’s release of their third album ‘Typhoons’ is set to make the duo bigger than ever before.

Royal Blood commented, “ Playing live is the DNA and sole purpose of our band. On stage with our fans is where we belong, and we cannot wait for this tour to be a reality!”

‘Typhoons’ heralds an exciting new era for Royal Blood, who are firmly established as one of rock’s biggest and most vital bands. Their previous two albums both went straight to #1 in the UK, in the process accumulating 2 million global sales. The duo have won the BRIT Award for Best British Group, two NME Awards and a Kerrang! Award. Their debut album was also nominated for the Mercury Prize.

Royal Blood at Manchester O2 Apollo — tickets, support acts, stage times and more

Big Weekend was a blip, let's get back to making a load of noise.

Danny Jones

Rock duo Royal Blood are back in Manchester this Friday after smashing the AO Arena in April last year and having not long dropped their new record, Back to the Water Below , on 1 September.

Mike Kerr and Ben Thatcher have made a very successful career out of making a racket with nothing more than a bass guitar and a drumkit between them, and even despite upsetting a few people with their Radio 1 Big Weekend drama earlier this year, they’re still one of the biggest bands in the UK.

In fact, with their fourth studio album now out and four consecutive number-ones to their name, not to mention charting extremely well in the US and beyond, Royal Blood remain at the forefront of modern rock music all over the world.

With that being said, regardless of what music lovers might have made of that admittedly very awkward with the crowd in Dundee, they’re rockstars at the end of the day and die-hard fans wouldn’t have cared for more than five minutes before grabbing a ticket. Speaking of which…

Are there tickets left for Royal Blood’s O2 Apollo gig?

If you were looking to hop on the gig at the last minute, you’re in luck: although the show is technically sold out, there are some standing tickets up for grabs in both the stalls and in the circle seated section of the O2 Apollo — however, they are resales.

The Brighton boys might be going for a bit of a smaller venue this time around but believe us, this place is already packed out and if you’ve ever been to a sold-out gig, you know it can be a proper cauldron.

You can secure a spot from £53.63 on Ticketmaster and, obviously, keep an eye on other reseller sites like Twickets and TicketSwap but, as always, we urge you to stay away from ticket touts — there’s no point in getting stung on a Friday night.

Who’s supporting Royal Blood in Manchester?

As for Royal Blood’s support acts for the Manchester gig , you’ve just got one this time which, in our opinion, often means two very good things: firstly, that the one act the artist has chosen gone is so good they don’t need another warm-up and secondly, the sets usually last longer. Only good news.

On this occasion, the standalone support comes from Hastings-based three-piece HotWax , who are already making a name for themselves as one of the most exciting new names in the genre that you should keep your eye on.

The trio have been around since 2020 and literally just released a brand-new EP entitled, Invite me, kindly . If you’ve never come across them before, we can promise you at three things: lots of raw rock riffs that will have no trouble filling the room, plenty of harmonised vocals and some funky basslines — no wonder Mike and Ben like them.

Stage times

Now, as for when you’ll be hearing these two brilliant bands, the Apollo’s doors open at 7pm on Friday, 21 October and the curfew is expected to be around 11pm as per usual.

The venue doesn’t usually announce the specific stage times until around 2pm the day of the event but we’ll update you as soon as we know more. That being said, you can probably expect Royal Blood to take the stage around 9pm.

It goes without saying that stage times are always subject to change, so make sure to keep an eye on both the band and the Apollo’s social media channels, as well as check the event page nearer to the time.

Having not long wrapped up their North American shows, Manchester has the honour of being the first proper date on the UK leg of their tour (because of course it does) after just playing a handful of more intimate album launch shows back at the start of last month.

With that being said, Royal Blood could have changed up things since then but if we’re going off their most recent shows over in the States, Setlist.fm has the running order looking something like this:

  • Mountains at Midnight
  • Boilermaker
  • Come on Over
  • Trouble’s Coming
  • Pull Me Through
  • Little Monster (followed by drum solo)
  • How Did We Get So Dark?
  • Tell Me When It’s Too Late
  • Loose Change
  • Out of the Black
  • Shiner in the Dark
  • Figure It Out

Travel and parking for the O2 Apollo

As for those of you who haven’t been to this legendary gig location before or might be travelling into town from elsewhere, it’s very straightforward to get there.

Your main train station is, of course, Manchester Piccadilly and the same goes for your nearest Metrolink tram stop. There are also plenty of buses from the city centre on the Bee Network, with 192, 201, 203, 204 and 205 all stopping right by the Apollo. You can check the TfGM website for more info and to plan your journey.

As for parking for those of you driving to the concert, there are two official car parks immediately adjacent to the building which will both cost £10.00 to stay there — strictly cash only and obviously on a first-come-first-serve basis.

  • Pop-punk royalty back at their best — Blink 182 smash second night at Manchester’s AO Arena
  • A musical version of Disney classic 101 Dalmatians is coming to Manchester next year
  • Liam Gallagher announces three massive Manc gigs on Definitely Maybe 30th-anniversary tour

With plenty of new tracks being played for the first time as well as the hits that put these two musicians on the map, this is sure to be an absolute rager of a gig in what remains one of our favourite venues.

We’ll tell you another thing, there’ll be nothing disappointing or “pathetic” about the crowd’s performance here in Manchester, lads — you just make sure you put on a good show and we’ll do all the rest, don’t worry.

See you there.

Chase and Status Manchester tickets UK tour 2025

Drum and bass giants Chase and Status are officially coming back to Manchester, announcing a massive gig at Co-op Live as part of their huge new tour.

Set to play a series of massive arena dates all over the UK, the kings of all things dance and electronic were only in Manchester this past March for a sell-out show at O2 Victoria Warehouse but they’re already confirmed they’ll be coming back next spring for more.

Not only will this be Chase and Status’ Co-op Live debut but they’ll be the first big act from within the EDM space to play the state-of-the-art arena which has already crossed some frankly gigantic names.

With recent releases like ‘Badadan’, the ‘Gunfinger (Salute)’ collab with IRAH and the latest single with Stormzy ‘BACKBONE’ – an unreal banger and return to their D’n’B roots – we’re more excited than ever to get our raving shoes on.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Chase & Status (@chaseandstatus)

The London-born and bred duo, real names Saul Milton and Will Kennard, are arguably one of the most influential electronic artists to come out of the UK in the past two decades.

Even in speaking with fellow industry veterans like DJ Fabio, he described them as a “staple” of the scene who have helped bring electronic dance music back to the forefront and get “drum and bass tracks back in the top 40.”

With that in mind, the UK’s largest music-first indoor entertainment arena frankly just isn’t ready for the calibre of live performance these lot are about to drop but we have pure blind faith that it’ll be one of the gigs of the entire year.

Kicking off the huge 2025 tour in Glasgow before coming to Co-op Live on 1 May, with other noteworthy shows including the O2 in London, as well as Birmingham and Cardiff’s Utilita Arenas, these tickets are going to absolutely fly.

  • Beloved Manchester club night Funkademia leaves Mint Lounge after 14 years

If any of you were at that Victoria Warehouse then you already know how much Chase and Status shows go off, so we won’t dilly-dally any longer.

Pre-sale for official Co-op Members goes live at 10am on Tuesday, 24 September, with general admission available from the same time the following Thursday (Thurs, 26 Sep).

You can be ready to grab yours HERE and if you don’t think we’re ready to fight you over them until we’re left ‘Blk & Blu’, then you’ve got another thing coming.
