List Of All U.S. Fights

Behind-the-scenes of fight events.

The preparation for a UFC event in Las Vegas begins months in advance, involving coordination among various stakeholders including fighters, coaches, event planners, venue staff, and city officials. Each fight night is the culmination of relentless planning, from securing the venue and ensuring compliance with athletic commissions to the detailed choreography of event programming.

Security is paramount, with extensive measures in place to ensure the safety of fighters and fans alike. Cutting-edge technology is employed to monitor venues, while trained personnel are stationed strategically throughout to manage any situation swiftly.

Another critical aspect is the production setup, which transforms venues like the T-Mobile Arena into gladiatorial arenas. State-of-the-art lighting, sound systems, and broadcasting equipment are meticulously arranged to enhance the viewing experience, both for live spectators and global audiences watching from home.

During an anticipated UFC fight night, in Las Vegas at the T-Mobile Arena a display of coordination, behind the scenes took place between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz. This event not only drew global attention but also showcased the seamless integration of planning, technology, and human effort that defines Las Vegas’s UFC events.

Weeks before the fighters stepped into the octagon, the event team faced a significant challenge. The original main event was jeopardized due to an injury, requiring a last-minute change in the fight card—an operational nightmare. The team in Las Vegas, however, managed this crisis with remarkable efficiency. Within days, a new headline fight was arranged, and the promotional materials were updated without missing a beat.

The night of the fight saw another layer of behind-the-scenes activity rarely seen by the public. The production team worked tirelessly, coordinating with broadcasting partners across different time zones to ensure the live feed was flawless. Meanwhile, the security team implemented a meticulously planned protocol to manage the influx of celebrities and VIP guests, ensuring that their presence did not disrupt the event flow.

Beyond the physical arrangements, the emotional and physical well-being of the fighters is a priority. Medical teams and UFC staff provide comprehensive support to the athletes throughout the event, from pre-fight medical checks to post-fight care, ensuring that the warriors who entertain millions are well cared for. This intricate behind-the-scenes orchestration makes each UFC event in Las Vegas not just a series of fights, but a meticulously crafted festival of martial arts, celebrated in a city that knows how to put on a show.

Comparison of Viewing Experiences: Live vs. Broadcast

Experiencing a UFC match is truly exciting whether you’re immersed in the atmosphere of the arena or relaxing at home. Being present, at an event, especially in a vibrant city such, as Las Vegas provides a special and memorable ambiance that simply can’t be matched by watching it on TV. Here’s a comparison of the viewing experiences, highlighting why seeing a fight live, particularly in Las Vegas, is a must-do for any UFC aficionado.

The Live Experience: Immersion and Excitement

When you go to a UFC event, in Las Vegas it’s more than witnessing a fight; it is being part of an experience. The atmosphere, inside the venue is tangible—the cheers of the audience the suspense hanging in the air, and the thrilling anticipation that grows with each match. From the moment you step into venues like the T-Mobile Arena, you are swept into an environment where every cheer and gasp of the crowd enhances the thrill of the fight.

Unmatched Atmosphere

The atmosphere at a live UFC event is something that television cannot capture. The collective anticipation of the crowd, the reactions to every powerful strike or takedown, and the shared highs and lows of the fight create a communal experience that binds everyone in the venue. It’s an emotional rollercoaster, where you ride every moment of triumph and setback right alongside the fighters and fans.

Sensory Experience

Live events also engage all your senses in a way that broadcasts can’t. The sound of the bell, the intensity of the fighters’ entrances, and even the surprising impact of seeing the actual size and speed of the athletes up close — all contribute to a deeper appreciation of the sport. Plus, there’s the opportunity to experience all the peripheral entertainment and interactions that happen around you, from live commentary to audience chants, adding layers to the event that home viewers miss out on.

The Broadcast Experience: Convenience and Coverage

Watching a UFC event on TV or via stream has its advantages, notably the convenience. You can enjoy multiple camera angles, instant replays, close-ups of the action, and commentary that explains each maneuver and strategy. Broadcasting can enhance understanding of the fight’s subtleties and allow you to catch details you might miss at the venue.

Technological Enhancements

Broadcasts leverage cutting-edge technology to enhance viewer experience. High-definition slow-motion replays, fighter stats displayed in real-time, and expert analysis add depth to the viewing experience. For fans new to UFC or those looking to understand the technical aspects of mixed martial arts, broadcasts can provide an educational layer that enriches their understanding of the sport.

Why Live Wins

Despite the advantages of broadcast technology, the live experience in Las Vegas stands out for its sheer unreplicability. Attending a brawl isn’t, about the matches; it’s also, about experiencing an occasion that transcends the impact of each punch. Las Vegas, the entertainment capital of the world, adds to this with its unparalleled ability to host and enhance such events, making every fight something of a festival.

In Las Vegas, UFC events are not just fights; they’re spectacles. The city offers world-class amenities, nightlife, and entertainment options that make the journey worthwhile. The thrill of being there, at the moment, where you can feel the crowd and share the excitement, makes live viewing an unmatched experience. For any true fan of UFC, the live experience in Las Vegas is not to be missed. It’s where memories are made and the spirit of MMA truly comes to life.

UFC books Las Vegas Sphere for Mexican Independence weekend

vegas ufc tour

The UFC held its first event celebrating Mexican Independence Day back in September. The sequel promises to be even bigger.

UFC CEO Dana White told reporters Saturday night that the promotion has booked the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas for Sept. 14, 2024, and will host a fight card honoring Mexican Independence weekend. The holiday falls on Sept. 16.

The Sphere, a $2.3 billion venue, opened Sept. 29 and can hold more than 18,000 people. There has not yet been a combat sports event in the building, though the production value of concerts -- with giant video walls stretching high above the stage -- has gone viral on social media. So has the exterior of the globe-like arena, which is a 16K, 160,000-square-foot LED screen.

"It's going to be a massive challenge, and I love every minute of it," White said Saturday following UFC 295. "I can't wait to dive into this thing."

Noche UFC, the promotion's Mexican Independence show held Sept. 16 at Las Vegas' T-Mobile Arena, was considered a major success internally. The attendance was 18,766 for a $2.26 million paid gate. Alexa Grasso , the UFC's first Mexican-born women's champion, defended the UFC women's flyweight title against Valentina Shevchenko in the headliner.

White promised the 2024 edition at the MSG Sphere will be "the greatest live combat sports show anybody has ever seen."

"Everybody keeps saying to me, 'I don't understand how you're going to put the Octagon in there, I don't understand how you're going to do this, I don't understand how you're going to do that,'" White said. "Remember that I said this to you tonight."

Share All sharing options for: UFC slashes ticket prices, reduces ‘Noche’ gate estimates after struggling to sell swanky ‘Sphere’ seats

What was supposed to be a love letter to Mexican fight fans has turned into a Dana White vanity project , with a production price tag north of $20 million.

UFC 306 at The Sphere , also known as Noche UFC during Riyadh Season on Sept. 14 in Las Vegas, is headlined by the bantamweight title fight between reigning 135-pound kingpin Sean O’Malley — now the biggest star in UFC — and No. 1-ranked division contender Merab Dvalishvili.

Ticket prices opened at a staggering $3,000 apiece for nosebleeds , with premium seats running as high as $12,000. With less than two weeks until showtime, and several thousand seats still available (including resales), the lowest priced ticket now sits below $800.

And that gets you a “very limited view of Sphere screen.”

vegas ufc tour

If the selling point is the Sphere screen and you can barely see it, then you’re paying premium prices for a regular UFC pay-per-view (PPV) event. It’s also worth noting that White recently reduced the gate estimate from $25-27 million to $21 million.

“Dana said today that there are about 1,700 tickets remaining for Noche UFC,” longtime reporter Kevin Iole wrote on Twitter . “Expects a sell-out and said the gate will be a UFC record $21 million. HUGE night for Nevada Athletic Commission with Canelo doing massive gate down the street.”

Boxing megastar Canelo Alvarez also competes on Sept. 14, throwing hands opposite Edgar Berlanga across town at MGM Grand . White insists he’s got no beef with Alvarez — who is no stranger to counter-programming UFC — but did have a bone to pick with the “douches” at MGM .

So is UFC 306 at The Sphere worth the price? Check out the finalized fight card RIGHT HERE and decide for yourself.

UFC 306 Fighters Talk About Fighting At Sphere

To call Riyadh Season Noche UFC   unique is an understatement.

As the first athletic event held at Sphere in Las Vegas, the one-of-a-kind venue combined with an epic night of fights celebrating Mexican Independence Day is sure to create an unforgettable occasion.

Order UFC 306: O'Malley vs Dvalishvili

In mid-July, UFC.com spoke with several of the athletes competing on September 14 and asked for their thoughts on what they think the experience might be like:

Sean O’Malley:

UFC bantamweight champion Sean O'Malley is seen on stage during the UFC 2024 seasonal press conference at MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 15, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Chris Unger/Zuffa LLC)

“It’s an honor to headline at Sphere. Conor (McGregor) wanted it. Ilia (Topuria) wanted it. I feel super privileged to be able to do that. I think my work over the last seven years I’ve been in the UFC has kind of led me to this, and I’m very, very excited to put Merab’s lights out.

“I have no idea what to expect. I really don’t. I talked to production a little bit. I talked to Dana (White) and Hunter (Campbell) a little bit, and they tell me how crazy it’s going to be, and you can let your imagination kind of go with what that is. It’s going to be different.”

UFC 306: Sean O'Malley Interview | Merab Dvalishvili Interview | O'Malley vs Vera Full Fight | Dvalishvili vs Cejudo Full Fight

Merab Dvalishvili:

“I’m sure the people that come are going to feel like they are fighting. It’s going to be a little bit different for us as the fighters, like when you are fighting with the screens and TVs, but I’m OK because it’s going to be the same thing for my opponent. For fans, it will be crazy. I was actually thinking — I wasn’t sure if I was getting to fight here or not — when they sell tickets, I was going to buy my own because I wanted to go to this event. Now, I’m fighting there. This is crazy. I’m the main event, but I want before, when I’m in the locker room, I want to watch somebody from the seats. Unfortunately, I will have to fight there. I won’t be able to see somebody or myself, but it’s blessed. Thank God for this. I think all the hard work I put in, now, it pays off. God has given me a big gift fighting at Sphere and on Mexican Independence Day.”

Alexa Grasso:

Alexa Grasso poses for a photo ahead of the UFC 306 event at Sphere in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Zuffa LLC)

“It’s huge. Mexico is growing so fast in MMA. We always shine in combat sports, and I think that’s something great. The UFC loves how we fight. We always go forward. This means a lot. It just keeps me thinking that I have to train harder. I feel proud and honored to be there.

“I think the experience is going to be huge because I’ve been there. I went to watch a show, and it’s amazing. It’s breathtaking. Now knowing there will be MMA fights in there with that experience, with those images, it’s huge. It gives me chills. It’s amazing.”

Valentina Shevchenko:

“For athletes to be in the first ever event in Sphere, it’s never happened before, it’s a huge event. It’s something with a very special meaning. It’s the same feeling when I fought in the first event after the pandemic in Jacksonville (at UFC 251), and the atmosphere in there, it was electrifying. So huge. And I expect something similar and even bigger to be in Sphere.

MORE UFC 306: Alexa Grasso Interview | Valentina Shevchenko Interview | Grasso vs Shevchenko 1 Full Fight | Grasso vs Shevchenko 2 Full Fight

“It’s very hard for me to imagine what it’s going to be and how it’s going to be because I know for sure, when I go into the fight, I have tunnel vision. I don’t see what’s happening around. I don’t see anyone’s face. I don’t see anything that’s happening. I barely hear people. So, it’s hard for me to imagine, but looking back, when you see how it was on tape, it’s going to show how big it was, and you understand how huge the event was.”

Brian Ortega:

“It’s one of the boxes you get to check off that you never even knew was a box. To fight at Sphere, first event, the craziness going on with the technology, it’s like a weird motivation. It’s a happy motivation to go in there. They gave us the VR goggles, and with those we got to see what it’s going to look like, how they’re going to show you (on the screen), so you almost feel like part of the company. Like, ‘All right, what is it going to look like? Where am I going to walk out from?’ To have that level of trust with the company, and to be able to do this was cool, and to see what they’re going to do with it, I have to just get excited the day of the fight and be like, ‘Hey, this is what we were talking about (earlier),’ and start looking at things they said are going to be there. It’s a beautiful event.”

Diego Lopes:

“It definitely is going to be something different. It’s never been done. I’ve never fought in a place like it. It’s definitely going to feel very different. I am aware that a lot of people also have a lot of expectations of this event. I do have expectations, as well, so it feels extra exciting because of that.”

Daniel Zellhuber:

“I don’t know what to expect because I still haven’t been inside Sphere, but I hear that it’s different because it’s not like the usual stadiums the UFC uses. It’s not like a regular venue. It’s way different. So, I don’t know what to expect. I know that it’s going to be awesome. It’s going to be different, especially with all the technology that is already in Sphere and all the stuff UFC is bringing to the table, I know it’s going to be a great event. I don’t know what to expect. Definitely, it’s going to be something crazy, but I don’t know what to expect.”

Ignacio Bahamondes:

“Wow. The pressure, everything, all the people — people are going to be super happy. The fights are awesome. The people are going to be really noisy. Fighters, we gotta be ready for that kind of stuff, and we gotta be mentally prepared. It’s going to be a great night. It’s going to be historic.”

Esteban Ribovics:

“I can picture the moment, but I know the moment is not going to be the same once it happens. I know it’s going to be unique. I have no idea what it’s going to be like, but I can picture it. I am just excited that it’s going to be different than all the rest of the events.”

Manuel Torres:

“I think it’s going to be crazy. I think the fans are going to go wild, but so will I. I’m very excited.”

Ode’ Osbourne:

“I think it’s going to be an experience like nobody has ever seen or felt. People keep asking me, ‘How do you think the fighters are going to react to walking out to the screens?’ I think for us, it’s going to be tunnel vision. We’re really not going to notice. I mean, I won’t. That’s how it is, but the experience is going to be incredible. It’s going to be a Coliseum-type feeling.”

Ronaldo Rodriguez:

“I’m really proud about it because it’s an event dedicated to us, the Mexicans. The ones who are willing to die on the line.”
