Dave East Confirms Debut Aussie Tour

Three shows this August!

MC and lyricist Dave East will tour Australia for the first time this year.

The Harlem native, who took a classic ‘90s New York sound and added his own unique style to it, will perform at Brisbane’s Princess Theatre on August 18, before stopping by Melbourne’s 170 Russell on August 19 and Sydney’s Metro Theatre on August 20.

East got his start in 2010, dropping a series of successful mixtapes before signing to rap legend NAS’ Mass Appeal, which put him on the world stage and led to collaborations with Mary J Blige, Fabulous, Pusha T, Jadakiss, 2 Chainz, Wiz Khalifa, T.I. and more.

He also recently featured in Hulu series Wu-Tang Clan: An American  Saga , portraying Methodman.

Speaking with Vibe back in January about what 2022 would bring, East revealed: " Me and Styles P, we’re about to let  Beloved 2  fly. I got an album I did with Araabmuzik. I got an album with Mike N Keyz and an album with Budda Da Future and Grandz, so I got like three or four different projects all produced by those producers like how I did with Harry Fraud… and then my next solo with Def Jam/Mass Appeal probably [dropping] first quarter. February or March."

Dave’s meteoric rise to the top has been characterised by a series of boundary-breaking moments; from Drake remixing early single ‘Wanna Know’ in 2016 to becoming the youngest recipient of an Ivor Novello Award for his 7-minute politically charged 2017 track ‘Question Time’, to his street anthem ‘Funky Friday’ debuting at No.1 on the Official Singles Chart – the only British artist to do so in 2018.

By continuing to boldly defy convention and refusing to compromise, Dave is constantly redefining the model of success within contemporary British music, and while the success of Psychodrama has firmly underlined this, it is just the beginning.

2019 sees Dave embark on a year long international ‘Psychodrama Tour’ , including three performances in Australia.

Harlem rapper Dave East has announced a massive U.S. tour later in 2022 promoting his debut album 'Survival' . His No Place Like Home Tour kicks off September 30th in Bangor and continues into November visiting major markets like Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Seattle, Philadelphia, Chicago and New York. The new outing follows up 2019's Survival Tour which was joined by special guests Cruch Calhoun, Millyz and Noochie .

East released his debut studio album 'Survival' on November 8th, 2019 via Def Jam Recordings, Mass Appeal Records and From the Dirt. The album reached #11 on the Billboard 200 and features guest appearances by Jacquees , DJ Premier , Nas , Teyana Taylor , Rick Ross , The-Dream , Fabolous , Gunna , Mozzy , E-40 , Lil Baby , DJ Clue and Ty Dolla Sign . Back in early 2019, the NYC-based rapper launched his Get It How I Live Tour across America which followed up 2018's Paranoia 2 Tour .

Dave East Announces 'Paranoia 2' Release Date and Tour

The long-awaited studio album should be arriving in January.

No, you’re not hearing voices. Dave East did in fact announce a release date and tour for Paranoia 2 . According to the artist’s Instagram, the album will drop on January 16th (you sure, Dave?) and tickets for the tour are available now.

The Harlem rapper has been taking his time with his first album. Almost a year after signing his first major record deal with Def Jam, he placated expectant fans with an EP entitled Paranoia: A True Story this summer. East previously described the 13-track EP as a “appetizer” to an upcoming full-fledged studio album. Since Paranoia , East released Karma , 16-track mixtape hosted by DJ Holiday, featuring Offset, Lil Durk, DonQ, and Chris Brown, with production by Mally Raw, 808 Mafia, and Black Metaphor.

As far as the long-awaited album is concerned, it’s all about timing, according to East. He previously told Billboard , “...I still want to run around a little more. I still ain’t tour yet, There’s a lot of things that I still want to do before I say, ‘Alright. Here’s my album.’” Well, it appears East is ready for both now. Paranoia 2 is said to include more stories about the rapper’s life from before he reached his celebrity status. The East Harlem native grew up with aspirations of becoming a basketball player, but things didn’t workout at the collegiate level, where his attitude alienated him from his coaches. East (David Brewster, Jr.) started selling drugs in Baltimore, earning him a 6-month prison-sentence where the former Catholic discovered Islam. He got into the rap game shortly after getting out, and as the story goes, Nas discovered the up-and-coming star on YouTube.

The 124th U.S. Open heads to Pinehurst, North Carolina, with historic Pinehurst No. 2 hosting for the fourth time. Wyndham Clark will go from coast-to-coast to try to successfully defend his win at Los Angeles Country Club from last year. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, coming off a win at the Memorial presented by Workplace, is looking for his second major triumph of the year after earning a second green jacket in April. Scheffler won THE PLAYERS earlier this year and has five TOUR titles so far this season.

The reigning FedExCup champion Viktor Hovland looks to claim his first major title after missing out to Xander Schauffele at the PGA Championship. Rory McIlroy is aiming for his third PGA Championship and fifth major.
