What do our customers say?

The reviews speak for themselves. See what Nordic Visitor travellers said about their experience with us.

Relaxing and fun journey

The Scandanavian winter tour package and it's connections made it very easy to see the 4 capital cities and Bergen. There were plenty of suggestions for things to see and do. There was a great mix of cruise and rail segments between cities giving us a chance to see other parts of each country. Staff reserved an extra rail and overnight for us as soon as we asked about it. All in all a very relaxing and fun journey.

Just what we wanted

The plan was just what we wanted and the actual trip delivered just that. Nice balance of scheduled events and free time in the cities visited. Hotel locations were excellent and our tour guide was always available and helpful for additional questions and suggestions.

First class

Communication was first class. Selection of accommodation was perfect. Great hotels in good locations.

Very easy process

We found the whole process very easy. The instructions and information provided was clear and made it easy to find hotels and transport links. The hotels were centrally located, close to transport links but were not noisy. Our personal travel consultant was very helpful and friendly. We liked the recommendations suggested in the daily itinerary.

Thoroughly recommend Nordic Visitor

We would recommend Nordic Visitor to anyone considering an introductory tour of Stockholm, Copenhagen and Oslo. Basics of logistics where well-stated. It was easy to commute from one capital to the next. Itineraries were clear yet flexible. We thought moving from one country to the next would be a challenge - it was not. Nordic Visitor arranged all that was needed, yet gave us the flexibility to do more or otherwise should we want. Again, we thoroughly recommend Nordic Visitor. We look forward to our next excursion in Scandinavia through Nordic Visitor.

Fantastic tour that included the highlights for each country we visited. I really feel like we have seen the best of the countries with the time we had. The activities were terrific. I felt supported by my tour planner, Irja, as we travelled.

Excellent vacation

We had an excellent vacation through Nordic Visitor. The expertise of our tour guide and small group size of 16 enhanced our experience. We had a good blend of free time and tour related programs. We did arrive 2 days early to Stockholm and stayed an additional 2 days in Bergen. We found this time beneficial to explore the areas more.

A pleasure to work with

Working with Nordic Visitor, and specifcally Irja, was a pleasure. She did an excellent job presenting the information. It was nice to see her enthusiasm as she discussed activites the staff liked in each city. She responded to our questions promptly and in detail. The paperwork, itinerary, written day-by-day descriptions, vouchers, and tour info was all very well-thought-out and presented.

I would definitely recommend Nordic Visitor!

I was so happy during this entire trip. I wanted to travel to Norway before but I didn't understand how Norway in a Nutshell worked so the itinerary prepared by Irja was just perfect. She was always available to answer all my questions and the hotels and activities planned were perfect and easy for me as a solo traveller. I just had to enjoy each city. I would definitely recommend Nordic Visitor!

Very well planned

The tour was great and very well planned. We had enough time to explore the cities and the Swedish countryside. It was fun to drive and take the ferries as well.

The best vacation we've ever had!

This was the best vacation we've ever had and I'm planning a Norway trip for August 2024 as we speak. Thanks for a phenomenal time!

An amazing trip

We had an amazing trip in Swedish Lapland and the Scandinavian cities. Nordic Visitor's assistance helped us to have scheduled activities, but also free time to pick and choose what we wanted to do. It was a great balance of planning, with the inclusion of spontaneity!

Flights to Scandinavia

There are a handful of direct flights from India to Scandinavia, more specifically to Stockholm (ARN) and Helsinki (HEL). You’ll also easily find connecting flights from several other major cities in Central Europe. Approximate direct flight times are 7 hours from New Delhi.

Below are airlines that offer flights to Scandinavia year-round:

Air India : from New Delhi Finnair : from Helsinki SAS : from Copenhagen and Oslo KLM : from Amsterdam Turkish Airlines : from Istanbul British Airways : from London Lufthansa : from Frankfurt Emirates : from Dubai Qatar Airways : from Doha

Guided Small Groups

Independent cruise, independent train, scandinavian triangle, ideas for holiday packages to scandinavia from bangalore.

Visiting Scandinavia is an enriching experience, with such fascinating cultures and jaw-dropping landscapes for you to discover. There are many reasons why Scandinavia is a great travel destination for visitors from Bangalore.

Firstly, if you are an English speaker, it’s good to know that most locals are fluent in the language. So whether you want to strike up a conversation or need help with directions, you won’t need to worry about any language barrier.

Another convenient thing about Scandinavia tour packages is that getting around is easy. This is thanks to the excellent transport connections and short distances between cities. That’s why we highly recommend the Scandinavian Triangle route – the capitals of Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

You can visit Stockholm, Oslo and Copenhagen in one incredible trip, travelling between each European city via train, plane and ferry. Or you might want to take a road trip instead. Spend your days exploring the cities on walking tours, admiring royal palaces, and savouring delicious Scandinavian meals.

What’s more, Sweden, Norway and Denmark are some of the safest countries in the world. You can expect clean cities, high standards of road safety, and low crime rates too.

But aside from these practical advantages, Scandinavia holidays are a dream because these European cities and rural settings are simply beautiful. Travel here and you’ll discover a land brimming with exquisite scenery, culture and traditions.

The best time to visit Scandinavia depends on what you want to do. Come in the summer to enjoy the midnight sun, wild swimming and al fresco dining. In the winter, expect a festive wonderland and smaller crowds at top attractions. You may even get a chance to spot the northern lights!

As a Northern European tour operator, Nordic Visitor specialises in organising vacation packages to this beautiful corner of the world. We have many more ideas and travel tips to help you explore Scandinavia your way!

  • First time in the Nordics? See our 7 amazing Scandinavia tours for first-time visitors

Here’s one of our suggestions for a Scandinavia travel package:

Day 1 - Arrive in Stockholm, Sweden Fly into Stockholm Arlanda Airport and head to your hotel in the city centre. Spend some time walking through Gamla Stan (the Old Town). Enjoy a fika (a Swedish coffee break) with a nice pastry at one of the local cafés in this medieval neighbourhood.

Day 2 - The highlights of Stockholm Spend a full day in the Swedish capital, discovering the top attractions and districts. You could join a city tour to see the best of Stockholm in a day, taking you to must-see spots like the City Hall, Royal Palace and trendy Södermalm quarter.

Or, a ferry ride will whisk you off to the island of Djurgården, home to the Nordic Museum and Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum. Meanwhile, a day trip to the Stockholm archipelago means you could swim in the Baltic Sea and hike through forests.

Day 3 - Fly to Copenhagen, Denmark Head to Stockholm Airport after breakfast and board a plane to Copenhagen. Once in Denmark’s capital, take a walk down the city’s popular Strøget street for a bite to eat, or go check out the fun and games at the old fashioned Tivoli Gardens amusement park.

Day 4 - Discover Copenhagen Soak up the charms of Copenhagen today, either on your own or as part of a guided tour. You might want to visit Rosenborg Castle, the Botanical Garden and Torvehallerne food market.

We also recommend hopping on a boat tour to see Christiansborg Palace, the Royal Danish Opera House and the colourful Christianshavn Canal from the water. You’ll also get to see the Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s famous fairy tale.

Day 5 - Overnight cruise to Oslo, Norway Ahead of your journey to Oslo, spend the day enjoying more of Copenhagen. Why not make like the bicycle-happy Danes and rent a bike?

You could check out the exquisite Amalienborg Palace, as well as the colourful Nyhavn harbour and the Little Mermaid statue. Later, head to the port for your cruise to Oslo.

Day 6 - Explore Norway’s capital city After your ship arrives early in the morning, the whole day is yours to roam Oslo. Take a walk to the bustling Aker Brygge waterfront area and visit the Akershus Fortress. Or, head to the Bygdøy peninsula to explore historic museums.

If you love art, make sure to take a walk through the delightful Vigeland Sculpture Park. Don’t miss a visit to Oslo City Hall if you want to see where the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony is held.

Day 7 - Scenic train journey to Flåm This morning, go to Oslo Central Station to begin your Norway in a Nutshell® experience – one of the most scenic rail journeys in the world. Look out the window to see picturesque landscapes and quaint villages like Gol and Geilo.

Change at Myrdal to board the Flåm Railway for one of the top highlights of the entire trip: a 900-metre (half-mile) descent to the picturesque village of Flåm, where you’ll stay for the night.

Day 8 - Norwegian fjord cruise Prepare to witness breathtaking Norwegian scenery today, as you hop on a cruise that takes you through the fjords. You’ll be able to admire the glittering waters, cascading falls and forested mountains of Sognefjord, passing through Aurlandsfjord and Nærøyfjord.

Afterwards, it’s an exciting coach and train ride to Bergen.

Day 9 - Discover Bergen Known as the gateway to the fjords , Bergen is Norway’s charming second city with plenty of its own attractions to uncover. You can visit the medieval houses of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Bryggen, and visit the Hanseatic Museum.

Or take the funicular up Mount Fløyen for panoramic views over the city and fjords from a height of 319 metres (1,047 feet) above sea level. There are also plenty of shops and restaurants to check out on your last full day in Scandinavia.

Day 10 - Depart from Bergen, Norway Fly back home from Bergen-Flesland Airport, having enjoyed 10 days in beautiful Scandinavia.

This is just one example of what your Scandinavia itinerary could look like. Our travel experts can tailor a package to suit you. Whether you’re interested in 9 days (8 nights) Scandinavia tours from Bangalore, or want to extend your trip to spend a couple of weeks in the region.

What other ideas are there for Scandinavia travel packages from Bangalore?

There are so many more places to see in this part of Northern Europe. For example, you could delve deeper into the Nordic region, which is made up of Finland , Iceland , Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Start your trip in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Try tasty Finnish cuisine at a local restaurant, and see some of the capital’s top sights such as Senate Square, Uspenski Cathedral, and the Presidential Palace.

You could choose to take a short ferry ride to Tallinn, Estonia’s capital. Then step aboard a cruise that whisks you to Stockholm. You’ll cross the Baltic Sea overnight to begin your exploration of the Scandinavian countries the following day.

Another alternative is to head deeper into rural Scandinavia. Discover natural gems like the breathtaking Norwegian fjords and mountains. You could journey even further up the west coast towards the Lofoten Islands on a Havila or Hurtigruten cruise , for an exciting Norway tour to the Arctic Circle.

Like the sound of an odyssey to the far north of Europe? Then we recommend visiting Lapland – a remote region covering parts of Sweden, Finland and Norway. Come in winter for the chance to see the aurora borealis, soak up snowy landscapes, stay in a real ice hotel and meet Santa Claus.

Or hop on a plane to combine Scandinavia and Iceland tours as part of your Nordic experience!

Good to know : Most of our Scandinavia holiday packages aren't set in stone, and there are many possibilities to tailor your plans.

We can modify your tour if you'd prefer to arrive in a different city, spend more free time in one destination than another, or add other towns to your trip. Just ask your Nordic Visitor travel agent for advice.

Sweden Travel Restrictions for Covid

International travel has changed quite a lot with the onset of Covid-19. RT PCR tests and quarantine are the usual norms for visiting most international locations.  From 9th February 2022 onwards, there is no entry ban from an EU/EEA country, but the entry ban from the rest of the world is in effect until 31st March 2022.

Entry from EU/EEA :  As per the official Swedish government website, the country has decided to return to the entry restrictions applicable before 28th December 2021. The requirement of the negative Covid-19 test performed within 48 hours before entry has been removed. The list of countries with approved vaccination certificates has also been expanded recently. The changes went into effect from 21st January 2022. Entry from countries outside the EU/EEA : Those travelling to Sweden from a country outside the EU/EEA must be covered by one of the exemptions from the travel ban. They must present a negative Covid-19 test performed within 72 hours of entering Sweden or be exempt from the testing requirement. For more details, refer our Sweden travel guidelines page.

Dos and Don’ts for travelling to Sweden

1) Give Swedes their personal space. Maintain an arm's length distance at most times and limit the amount of touching as they may view it as an invasion of their privacy and personal space.

2) Talk about nature. Swedes love their natural surroundings and enjoy their country’s natural beauty. Talk to them about it; they’ll love it!

3) Be punctual; Swedes like being on time. Be neither too late nor too early. If you have a meeting scheduled, make sure you reach on time.

4) Try to be a part of ‘fika’ ( coffee/tea with conversations). Swedes are very social and love to engage in ‘fika’ to bond over coffee.

5) Remain tidy. Swedes appreciate cleanliness and tidiness, whether it's their surroundings or home. Littering in parks or not removing shoes when visiting someone’s house is something one must avoid when in Sweden.

Don’ts

1) Do not boast about your achievements. Swedes appreciate modesty and humility.

2) Do not make jokes about different ethnicities, stereotypes, or cultures. You will be faced with disapproval.

3) Raising voices and exaggerated body language are usually not liked by Swedish people.

4) Be discreet when talking about migration and settlement of refugees or Australia’s migration. The other person’s knowledge level may differ and must not be presumed.

5) Do not make severe comparisons between Swedes and people from other Nordic regions.

About Sweden holidays

The Scandinavian nation of Sweden is a land of glaciers, mountains, boreal forests, and coastal islands. Sweden is lucky to experience four seasons - winter, spring, summer, and fall, each having its personality. People here love the outdoors, talking about nature and experiencing it.  The entire country can be divided into three main regions - Gotaland in the South, Svealand in the middle, and Norrland in the north. Swedish is the official language of people in Sweden. There are five minority languages - Finnish, Yiddish, Sami, Meänkieli, and Romani chib - used here. Holidaying in Sweden is all about nature, history, and culture. Before you pack your bags for the Sweden trip, check out these popular Sweden travel packages from Thomas Cook.

Best Time to Visit Sweden

Sweden is blessed with four seasons - Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. The Scandinavian peninsula is known for its natural beauty, and people enjoy visiting all the nations here as each one of them is incredibly beautiful with breathtaking natural beauty. Sweden is the biggest country in the peninsula and also the cleanest. The winters are extreme here, but all other seasons are pleasant and perfect for tourists to visit.

The spring and summer are perfect for travelling and experiencing a mild climate, but if you hope to see the Northern Lights, this isn't the best time. Northern Lights can only be seen during the winters when there isn’t any daylight. But, if being in Sweden during the midsummer solstice is your dream, then Summer(June) is the best time to visit Sweden .

Midsummer- Flowers, wreaths, and the sun that never sets is called midsummer in Sweden. This is when Sweden experiences 24x7 daylight. People are in a cheerful mood; they leave for the countryside to celebrate 5 weeks of holidays. It is usually celebrated on one of the Fridays between June 19-25th. If you get a chance to visit Sweden during this time, then you must!

Winters - Northern Lights - Winters in Sweden are harsh and cold throughout the year. In midwinter, there’s no daylight at all towards the north of the Arctic circle. If you are lucky, you might experience the sky lit up with northern lights. This is the time when families get ready for winter sports and Christmas break.

What to eat - 5 delicacies you must try when in Sweden!

1) Lingonberry Jam is widely used by Swedes, just like ketchup and mustard. It is a sweet jam usually eaten in a variety of dishes, including meatballs, pancakes, and porridge. Although it is sweet, it is rarely used in bread. People pick up lingonberries from nearby forests and make the jam at home. If you get to try this homemade jam, then you must try and savour it with meatballs and pancakes.

2) Crispbread - Swedes love their bread! Crispbread was once considered poor man’s food but is now widely eaten all over Sweden. It is eaten alongside the main meal. The crispbread comes in various shapes and sizes and can be stored for up to a year. So, you can eat it and carry it home for your family and friends.

3) Pea soups and pancakes - This is again a very popular dish in Sweden which people usually have on Thursdays as per old world war 2 traditions. Many traditional restaurants serve pea soup and pancakes along with pancakes and lingonberry jam.

4) Princess cake - You will find the green princess cake in most bakeries in Sweden. It is a green cake with a pink rose on the top. It is made of layers of yellow sponge cake and filled with vanilla custard and jam. It is sealed with green marzipan, hence the green colour. The third week of September is usually the princess cake week, but it is now widely eaten on many other days and is available in other colours as well.

5) Crayfish - Crayfish parties are popular in the Summers, in the month of August in Sweden. These are small red bite-sized red shellfishes feasted by Swedes all over Sweden in gardens and on balconies. Once eaten only by the royals and the upper-class citizens, the crayfish has now become popular everywhere with time.

Things to do in Sweden

There is a lot to do in Sweden, just like its neighbours, Norway and Finland.

Sweden is a paradise for those looking to spend some time in nature and explore Swedish culture and history. While Sweden has Lapland in the North, various castles and cities are to be explored in the South.

If you are short on time, here’s a list of 4 things you must do when in Sweden-

Spot wild moose and reindeer at Idre

One of the best things about Sweden is its wildlife. You can go reindeer spotting at Idre. You must experience a reindeer eating from your hand. You can also learn how reindeers have adapted to the northern hemisphere's climate. You can hike along with reindeers and learn about their herder's history. You can enjoy reindeer grazing and observe them as you hike along.

Experience genuine Sami culture and hospitality

While in Sweden, you have to visit the Swedish Lapland, which is the northernmost part of Sweden. The northernmost regions of Sweden, Norway , and Finland , also known as Sapmi, is the land of the indigenous population - the Sami people, who have been living here for thousands of years. The Samis have divided the year into eight seasons. They have named every valley and mountain peak here in Lapland. While in Lapland, you can immerse yourself in Sami culture via different experiences offered by various hotels and resorts here. One of the popular ones is Geunja Sami Eco Lodge which is located by a lake in Ammarnas. Here, you will learn about the Sami culture and traditions. You can enjoy nature as well as animals with which the Sami people are connected. Here, you can also go for short hiking trips, boat rides, and some fishing. You can sleep in a traditional goathie hut or a grass-roofed log cabin for the most authentic Sami experience.

Enjoy the most scenic hike of Sweden - The King’s trail

Hiking the King’s trail, Kungsleden takes you through four national parks, a world heritage site, and to the scenic mountains of the far north of Sweden. The hike is more than 400 km long but has multiple entries and exit points, so it can be enjoyed by anyone from anywhere. The entire trail would take about a month to cover, but since it's broken into different sections, you can pick and choose from the entire trail. You can hike the most popular section, which is from Abisko to Nikkaluokta, if you have 10-12 days. Here you will pass via the Abisko national park along with vast open areas, lakes, streams, and some of the highest mountains of Sweden.

The King’s trail is located above the Arctic circle, but it's fairly easy due to lower altitudes, levelled terrain, and well-maintained hiking trails. Even children can be a part of this adventure as trails aren’t that difficult. While you hike along the trail, you will find several Swedish mountain huts. You can stay in a different hut every day. The huts will provide you with basic amenities such as mattresses, pillows, blankets, and food.

Spot the magical Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights)

The Northern Lights can be spotted in Sweden between early September and late March.

During the beginning of September, you can find northern lights in and around Kiruna, in the far north of Sweden. When winter has set in completely, northern lights can be seen throughout the Swedish Lapland. The last sights of the coloured skies can be seen as late as the end of March or early April.

Many visitors come to Sweden on long winter nights to view the magnificent display of colours. On clear evenings, the best time to spot the lights is between 6 pm and 2 am. The most spectacular display is usually around 10 pm- 11 pm.

Lapland is a winter wonderland that offers various winter sports opportunities, the northern lights, and the authentic Sami culture experience. You must visit here to see the Northern Lights in action.

Life Stories by Veena Patil

‘Exchange a coin and you make no difference but exchange a thought and you can change the world.’ Hi! I’m Veena Patil... Fortunate enough to have answered my calling some 35 years ago and content enough to be in this business of delivering happiness almost all my life. Tourism indeed moulds you into a minimalist... Memories are probably our only possession. And memories are all about sharing experiences, ideas and thoughts. Life is simple, but it becomes easy when we share. Places and people are two things that interest me the most. While places have taken care of themselves, here’s my podcast, which I consider to be a great platform, through which I can share some interesting stories I live and love on a daily basis with all you wonderful people out there. I hope you enjoy the journey... Let’s go, celebrate life!

Domestic Tour Packages from Bangalore

1.    kashmir.

Kashmir is considered 'Paradise on Earth'. It is a fantastic vacation destination for any reason and at any time of year, as this land has inspired poets for centuries. Enchanting Chinar trees, enthralling thick deodar forests, lovely apple orchards, stunning saffron fields, majestic snow-clad mountains, adorable Shikaras, iconic Houseboats, vibrant Tulips in spring, spectacular snow-heaven Gulmarg, stunning Solang, and the list goes on. Explore the paradise's unique attractions and immerse yourself in its traditions and cultures!

2.    Himachal Pradesh

This mystical land is full of flawless natural treasures, and the region itself is teeming with picturesque, popular, and yet offbeat places. Solang Valley offers thrilling sports such as horseback riding, paragliding, mountain biking, and zorbing, as well as equally enchanting sightseeing opportunities in Shimla and Rohtang Pass. Our Himachal tour packages include the two most ancient temples in India, the Hidimba Devi Temple and the Vashisht Kund Temple, as well as the residence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, Dharamshala. Himachal Pradesh's atmosphere is welcoming, as are the state's friendly people.

3.    North-East

It's a wonderland where glacial rivers flow through plunging Himalayan gorges, faith moves mountains on perilous pilgrimages to Tawang, rhinos graze in the swampy grasslands of Kaziranga, and former head-hunters slowly embrace modernity in Nagaland. Discover breathtaking beauty by exploring this unexplored land with Veena World's North East holiday packages. The North East of India, known as the "Land of the Seven Sisters," is best described as a virgin, wild, and untouched. A trip to North East India will take your breath away!

4.    Rajasthan

Architectural marvels, exquisite handicrafts, vibrant culture, and delectable cuisine are just a few of this magnificent state's many highlights. Rajasthan, a magical land set amidst a vast desert, is synonymous with romance and chivalry. Veena World, as one of the best travel agencies in India, takes great pride in assisting you in experiencing royalty like never before. Travel back in time to the reign of the crown with our Rajasthan tour packages. Explore luxurious palaces, see vintage cars, go on camel safaris in golden sand dunes, go shopping in Jaipur Bazars, and go on a tiger safari in the state's wild forests.

5.    Gujarat

Gujarat, India's westernmost state, is a fascinating mix of architectural marvels, rich heritage, picturesque landscapes, extremely vibrant culture, and delectable cuisine. With all that Gujarat has to offer, it's easy to see why the state is also known as "The Land of Legends," as it offers a perfect blend of history, culture, music, and art. The allure of the scenic beauty that stretches from the Great Rann of Kutch to the Satpura hills is irresistible. A well-planned Gujarat tour will take you to some of the state's most incredible historic murals, ancient cave paintings, historic capitals, holy temples, beaches, wildlife sanctuaries, and fascinating handicrafts. Gujarat is also the only place in the world where pure Asiatic Lions can be found.

International Travel Destinations from Bangalore

1.    bhutan .

Bhutan has a special quality; the uncomplicated yet captivating country has the ability to touch your spirit and soothe it with tranquility. These words used to describe Bhutan's beauty are in their purest form, even if they may appear clichéd: a healthy climate, breathtaking views, and stately monasteries. Numerous tourists who desire to travel, discover, and experience Bhutan are attracted to the country nowadays.

2.    Nepal

Nepal, a landlocked nation in South Asia that borders Tibet to the north and India to the east, west, and south, is home to the Himalayas, the tallest mountain range in the world. The country's southern regions are home to tropical lowlands, while the northern portion is home to Mt. Everest, the tallest mountain in the world.
