Happiness Promise

There are hundreds of thousands of guides and tour operators around the world. Figuring out who to trust is stressful and hard.

That’s why we started 10Adventures Tours, we’re here to make it easy to find a great guide or tour operator. We handpick the best local guides and tour operators for 10Adventures, working to ensure you have great guides and a great trip.

We know it sucks to show up in a different country and find out the tents are junk, the guide incompetent or the route different from what we thought we were getting.

We want to give our users peace of mind that you’ll have a great trip and offer a guarantee that we will work with you to make it right.

How does this work? Well, if you feel that something about your trip didn’t’ meet your expectations, let us know. We will then work to gather the details and figure out where things went wrong. If something indeed wasn’t as described, or went wrong with your trip, and the problem was within the control of either oursleves, the guide or the tour company, we will then work out a refund with you that’s proportional to the scale of the problem.

Obviously the best way to make a great trip is to tell your local guide or tour operator and give them the chance to fix the solution while you are on your trip. Most things can be solved by telling your guide when the issue develops. If that doesn’t solve it, then email us right away. Please don’t wait to voice your concerns until the trip is over, as it’s much harder to solve issues after the fact.

We work hard to make sure you have a great trip. If something isn’t right, please email  [email protected]  and we will get to work right away.

As world travellers ourselves, we understand how important this is and that's why we've introduced our Lifetime Deposits program for most tours on 10Adventures.

  • A voucher in the amount of your deposit paid will be issued to you by email on cancellation of your tour booking.
  • Lifetime Deposits are transferable, so if you'd like to give your deposit to someone else to book a tour on 10Adventures, just let us know.

Having reached a major highlight for today’s hike, you’ll ascend Ramon’s Tooth to the Shen Ramon summit where you’ll find astonishing views of both the big and small Makhtesh and the surrounding Negev Desert.

After your descent, a short transfer will take you back to your accommodations in Mitzpe Ramon. Tonight there is a spectacular add-on (not included) opportunity to stargaze in the desert. This is an experience that comes highly recommended!

Descending into Nekarot Wadi, you’ll hike through a beautiful horseshoe-shaped canyon known for its unique colours and rare rock formations. The grand finale of the day is reaching the foot of Mount Ardon. The ascent is tough and steep, but worth every bit of effort! Finishing off this epic journey with views of the surrounding desert and craters, you’ll want to soak up these moments.

The Israeli desert with its breathtaking landscape and various attractions is offering the perfect place for a holiday. The Negev invites the visitors to an exciting journey that is rich in variety of opportunities.

Israel is a small country with 62% of the total area occupied by the Negev desert. The reddish gleaming desert terrain is characterized by many impressive geological rock formations. The visitors enjoy here a unique view of an untouched vastness - silent and majestic.

There are traces of past civilizations and their agriculture as well as archaeological sites. The Negev offers an unmistakable backdrop for encountering the Bedouin tribes - people of the desert.

israel negev tour

The Israeli desert is special for the following reasons:

  • The desert is very near:  just 4 hours of flying from Europe. Israel has two international airports - Ben Gurion and Ovda, which guarantee a short trip to the desert to all travellers (half an hour to an hour and a half). Starting from November, there will be direct flights from Europe and Russia to Ovda airport including Ryanair, Wizzair, and SAS.
  • Easy to Hike and Bike:  There are a lot of marked paths. Israel offers the most imposing hiking trails of the world and hundreds of safe paths lead through the Israeli desert.
  • Cordial local population:  The desert dwellers are friendly and hospitable and make the desert experience both pleasant and exciting for visitors.
  • Tourists Activities:  Along with the development of accommodation, the huge offer of tourist activities has converted the Negev in a popular, interesting, versatile and creative destination in recent years.
  • There are spectacular sand dunes in the north.
  • The Ramon Crater is present in the middle with its bold cliffs and seasonal water sources.
  • In the east, one experiences the African desert with wide savannas and acacia trees.
  • To the south, one finds red and black granite, contrasted by sandstone foothills having a powerfully pleasant colour.
  • The Negev is very safe to travel.  In case of emergency, the rescue units working in the area are some of the best trained in the world and are always close by. Should anyone require medical assistance, Israel offers high quality, first class advanced western medical services.

Over two thousand years ago a great nation of nomads, called the Nabateans, managed to find their way through the rough desert wilderness. The last part of their journey crossed the Israeli Negev Desert of today. While they develop incredible techniques for survival, among them – the digging of hundreds of cisterns, these people traveled over 1200 miles by foot with huge camel caravans. Where did they start the journey and where were they headed? What were they carrying that justified this unbelievable effort? Where are they today?? The Israel Guide

Explore israel with heiko sieger, your private tour guide, negev one day tour.

This one day tour will lead us through the Northern and Central Negev. There are two different routes, depending on where we start the tour (Jerusalem or Tel Aviv vicinity):

From Jerusalem

We head to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth, then south to the Makhtesh HaKatan (the small crater) to the “Devils Gate”. Like the other craters in the Negev, the Small Makhtesh is an erosion crater, one of only 7 worldwide, five of which are located here in Israel. Next stop is Mamshit, the antique Nabatean town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively we can visit the nearby Negev Camel Ranch for a one-hour camel ride. From there we drive through the Large Makhtesh via Yeroham to Sde Boker, where Ben Gurion spent his last years and where he and his wife Paula chose to have their last resting place. We visit his house and continue our way to Mitzpe Ramon for a spectacular view of the Ramon crater below, the largest of the Makhteshim. After lunch we descend by car into the crater and drive to the Saharonim Khan, the ruins of an ancient Nabatean caravansary on the frankincense route from Petra to Gaza.

Makhtesh Katan

Option 1: Friends of nature and hiking tours will enjoy the 3 hour hike (round trip) through the Nahal Nekarot gorge and Parsat Nekarot – but only in the autumn, winter, and spring when temperatures are moderate.

Option 2: We explore some dirt tracks in the crater, then we visit the Minsara or “carpentry” to see some rare forms of sandstone prisms.

If time permits, or as an alternative to the options above, we visit Avdat. The return route to Jerusalem is via Beersheba and Latrun.

From Tel Aviv

We drive to Beersheba and then to Sde Boker, where we visit Ben Gurions home in the desert. From there we continue to nearby Avdat, the antique Nabatean town, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Next stop is Mitzpe Ramon for a spectacular view of the Ramon crater below, the largest of the Makhteshim. After lunch we descend by car into the crater and drive to the Saharonim Khan, ruins of an ancient Nabatean caravansary on the frankincense route from Petra to Gaza.

We continue then with option 1 or 2 above.

If you chose option 2, and if it’s not too late in the afternoon, we can drive back via Yeroham and through the Large Makhtesh to the edge of the Small Makhtesh for a beautiful panorama view. From there we return via Dimona and Beersheba to Tel Aviv.

Note:  The tour itinerary above can be adopted to your preferences. Also note that parks like Mamshit and Avdat have different opening hours depending on summer and winter.
