Has anyone used this agent before Audley Travel ( http://audleytravel.com )?

I recently signed up for a holiday to South America and was a last minute addition to the tour of 7 of us. I am only sharing a triple room and for a 10 day tour to Rio, Bueno Aires and Iguazu Falls it is costing me £2850.

To top it all off it is actually only 9 full days not 10 as one of those days is flying back to the UK,

I realise I had a choice as to whether or not I agreed to go but due to recent stresses in my life I needed to get away and it was just a phone call to the agent to get this sorted. I guess I signed up stupidly not realising what terrible value for money it was, which is unlike me.

I was curious if anyone else found the same with Audley Travel?

Next time for sure, I will be organising myself and will never use these services again.

If you type Audley Travel into the search box just above your question, and from the drop-down menu choose "All Forums" that search will yield many forum topics over the years.

Sounds like you booked quickly because of stresses in your life, wanting to escape for a while. That's understandable. Travel companies put together package trips that may not be the best value. They are obviously in business to make money, so are often more expensive than trips you independently researched and booked yourself. I think they rely on people assuming they couldn't organise it all themselves, so go for the convenient option of a package trip. But when they start looking into the components of the trip they see it's not top quality or good value.

You have booked it, and probably can't cancel or you would face stiff penalties. Maybe just try and enjoy the trip, relax and explore South America. Getting away might be just what you need. Then for future travel get a package trip quote, then use tripadvisor and other resources to see if you could do it better and cheaper yourself.

Safe travels.

Audley Travel have been around for quite a number of years, so imagine they are doing something right. If I was spending that amount of money on a holiday I would certainly have done plenty of research BEFORE I booked. Travel companies ar businesses that need to make money. You may possibly been able do have booked the same trip yourself at a much cheaper price.

I have spoken to the team you have been dealing with and would like to reassure you that we have double checked your booking, but due to the last minute nature of adding you on to the trip, the cost of the air fares are now very high compared to when your family booked in January.

The above to me sounds like a plausible and fairly logical explanation.

As for the £1000-1500 you're "probably going to spend", that is mere speculation and comes across to me as considerably high average daily spend on food for just 9 days. What you choose to or choose not to spend on food, is beyond the control of the travel agent. The final figure you've arrived at of £4000+, is *not* what the agent is charging.

It is unfortunate that you had stresses in your life, but nobody can reasonably expect agents to discount prices based on such circumstances.

And you have a number of flights and accommodations that this will apply to.

It is also normal on a tour to have to forgo days of exploration to travel between places. When you have time to plan you can take this into consideration and make an informed decision but I'm guessing that you just wanted to go.

It is actually not excessively steep for the destination and what you will see. It will refect the last minute nature of the trip.

Go and have a great time, unwind and enjoy the beauty of the place. Good memories are priceless and you will have them always.

I appreciate it is last minute, however my family booked a while ago and they are all paying £2500 each! I am paying an extra £400 for the last minute nature but even if I booked a while ago, it is still costing £2450 per person for 9 days in South America.

Seems very steep to me.

Yes I realise that I had a choice whether or not to book, as I stated in my initial post.

Did you complain to the rep/agent at the time, so they could have had the opportunity to solve the problem whilst you were there?

Our First Trip to Thailand

We use Audley for the tailored service and their attention to detail. This is our third trip with Audley and yes, they are more expensive than other travel agents, but the service justifies this. The agents on the ground are so helpful and knowledgeable (and funny) and always go the extra mile to deliver. It’s also reassuring to know that if there is a problem, they will get it sorted. Rob listened to what we hoped to get from our trip, the sort of hotels we favoured and the outings and put together a wonderful itinerary. It really was the best holiday ever. Despite making numerous changes to the itinerary Rob was very responsive and we never felt pressurised and his personal knowledge was brilliant. We have already booked our next holiday with them!

An Australian Adventure

We have just returned from an incredible 6 week adventure around Australia that had been expertly put together for us by Jindy. The difference between Audley Travel and other agents is that they are truly curious about you as a couple and take the time to really understand what's important to you when you visit a new part of the world. Jindy was completely open to feedback on her initial proposal and refined the trip until it was perfect, the out come being an experience that exceeded our expectations. As well as the tours that we booked, the level of supplementary information on each of our various destinations, provided in the trip folder and app, enabled us ensure that we maximised every opportunity to fully explore these cities and regions. South Africa

From making initial contact to chatting at the end of trip Robyn made the whole experience amazing and stress free. She listened to our thoughts and put together an itinerary that worked for us. The safari element was, for me, what I wanted to end the trip doing and my goodness Robyn did not disappoint with the location and accommodation. Theresa was absolutely incredible for…

Theresa was absolutely incredible for us. We came to her with an incredibly tight deadline and budget but throughout she did not make us feel like it would be a big ask and made us feel so calm about the process, that we could leave it all with her. A TRAVEL AGENCY THERE WHEN YOU NEED THEM

As a well traveled individual, I don't normally use a travel agency, but boy am I glad I used Audley. My travel companion and I booked a trip to Vietnam we decided to use an agency because of the language barrier. We were booked at a beautiful 5 star resort and our 1st day there my friend fell at the resort and fractured her hip. We knew we need to get her back to the states the problem was coordinating our health and travel insurance. Audley immediately had their people there and their duty officer in Boston working to facilitate her being evacuated to a level 4 hospital. Audley was beyond fantastic, they were in communication with the entire time. Luckily we were able to air ambulance her to Bangkok International Hospital within 72 hours of her hospitalization. Unfortunately they would not allow me on the ambulance and I was super concerned she would not have anyone with her in Bangkok. But Audley made sure one of their agents meet her at the hospital. We had a 10 person e-mail chain that continued until she made it home to Los Angeles. I have never seen a travel agency do as much as Audley. I will only be using them in the future. In fact I have already started the process to secure a trip to Thailand for November 2024 with Audley ( we are calling it our revenge tour, LOL).

Mexico trip

A wonderful trip to Mexico organised at short notice by Audley who managed to fit in all the sights we wanted to see in a tight schedule. Great choice of hotels and recommended restaurants as well. Expertly Organised Safari

Audley organised our family of 5 to go on safari to Kenya and beach in Zanzibar. The holiday itself was unbelievable, a true trip of a lifetime. The accommodations were expertly picked to suit all our needs, which included a 6yr old. We had a total of 6 flights which they ensured were comfortable by organising transfers and communicating everything expertly. The regular check-ins with our agent, Theresa, meant that all the pre-travel stress was supported, ensuring all the visa admin etc was in place. They talk you through correct currencies, local cultures, tipping expectations and much more. They even check in whilst you are away to ensure everything is running smoothly… we didn’t answer because we were having too much fun but it was nice knowing they were there. I can’t wait to use them again and we’ve recommended to all our friends and family.

We travelled to Belize having always…

We travelled to Belize having always wished to visit the country. The whole package organised by Audley was seamless, and trouble free. Collected from the airport, whisked to a small landing and taken up river to a remote lodge in the jungle. From here, jungle walks knowledgeable guides, Mayan temples and structures, birds, animals, and superb lodge cooking. Taken again to another location, all attended and guided, what more could you wish for. A proper in depth review is available on request

We recently returned from the holiday of a lifetime to New Zealand. The itinerary was put together by Becca Mason of Audley Travel and she aced it. We stayed in some amazing places in some B&Bs we could never have found on our own. It was so reassuring to have all our destinations and excursions sorted by an expert. Amazing experience with Audley

We worked with Laura C at Audley to plan our honeymoon and it turned out perfect! From the beginning of the process Laura helped us select the right country and cities for our dream safari and beach honeymoon. She took care of everything from hotels, car transfers and even made us a reservation at a local restaurant for our layover in Nairobi. Never disappoint!

I have used Audley for various holidays across the world several times now and they never disappoint. This time I wanted a safari followed by a beach break and Theresa Arachi put together a great itinerary for me, starting in Kenya in a superb camp in the Masai Mara, followed by a lovely hotel in Zanzibar. I am a solo traveller and Audley ensured I was safely looked after from arrival and then leaving after 18 days in total. Any little issues are dealt with promptly so you can get on with your holiday. (Issues with the hotel in Nairobi for 2 nights, hence not giving a 5 star review, although this wasn't down to Audley). The specialists know the countries/areas they cover well which is very helpful (Theresa had visited many of the hotels and camps herself so knew what would be more suitable for me), so I highly recommend using them wherever in the world you want to go, either as a group, pair or solo.

Exactly what we wanted!

My wife and I had the most amazing experience in Japan--and we couldn't have done it without Adam at Audley! When we began to plan a trip to Japan, we realized quickly that we needed help from an expert. We had never used a travel service before, but I am so glad that we reached out to Audley. Adam interviewed us and got a sense of the kind of experience that we wanted, then--with just our arrival and departure dates--he assembled an itinerary of cities, amazing lodging (including traditional ryokans), and really interesting activities with local guides that were tailored for us. He absolutely nailed what we wanted--not simply travel, but an experience that was more immersive, fun, and with the right mix of planned activities and unplanned time. His support was really helpful, including lots of time before departure to ensure that the plan fit our needs, as well as lots of advice and tips from his own time staying in Japan. The logistical support was really key to making our travel easy--including providing a mobile wifi hotspot to ensure we had internet access everywhere, supplying our JR vouchers and tickets on our first day on the ground, as well as the Audley mobile app and printed binders of our trip. Adam arranged private transfers to and from the airport, and local guides that taught us how to use transit, that gave *tons* of tips of what to see, and that were eager to share their culture with us... All of this really took all the stress out of planning and execution, and just made our trip *so* enjoyable. Thanks to Audley, and thanks to Adam for giving us memories that we will never forget!

My grandchildren and I spent 10…

My grandchildren and I spent 10 wonderful days in Southern Spain and Madrid. We visited 5 cities and two caves along the way. Eric Carnes, along with some suggestions from me, did an outstanding job in putting this trip together. The thought and enthusiasm he brought to the trip was contagious with all of us thrilled with the pacing, selections, and guides we met along the way. I would highly recommend him because his judgement was right on target when it came to the challenge of making it interesting for all of us while not compromising the "must see" highlights. Audley hires swindlers as tour guides who overcharge you for services others are providing and force you to go to stores and tell you to buy things and won't take no for an answer

We booked with Audley and they were fantastic until they had our money. However, one third of our trip was AWFUL and they literally had a tour guide for us for our four days in Hoi An who tried to (and succeeded) in ripping us off, upcharging us for services that he wasn't providing (merely translating), and essentially holding us captive and forcing us to go to a pottery village and wouldn't let us leave despite us saying we had no interest ...

We booked with Audley and they were fantastic until they had our money. However, one third of our trip was AWFUL and they literally had a tour guide for us for our four days in Hoi An who tried to (and succeeded) in ripping us off, upcharging us for services that he wasn't providing (merely translating), and essentially holding us captive and forcing us to go to a pottery village and wouldn't let us leave despite us saying we had no interest and didn't want to spend our money there. He forced us to go into at least six shops in that village alone telling us to buy something. Entirely unprofessional. We also almost missed our flight out of Hoi An because he insisted we didn't have to leave as early as everyone else said to leave (you could tell from his hungover face and Facebook pictures it was because he wanted to party the night before). Anyways, we didn't have our AIRLINE TICKETS until SIX minutes before boarding began and then he left us to fend for ourselves. We had to do our best to communicate with people in the security line to ask to go ahead of others so we wouldn't miss our flight. We raised these (among other) concerns with Audley Travel and were told that they would follow up and their local company would be reaching out. It's been three weeks, we have been back in the States for two weeks, and we have heard nothing. I suppose after getting $10k from you and us having no recourse they don't really care to follow-through or to ensure that we have a positive experience on our trip. I was in the early stages of planning a trip through Audley for my parents but notified them we will not be using them for that trip, and that we would be cautioning everyone else we know against using such an unprofessional company.

See the review above. With respect to Audley, I'm most disappointed in the lack of follow through in correcting or dealing with the unprofessional tour guide that we were stuck with for four days of our trip.

Beautiful holiday in Hawaii

Booked a 16-day trip to Hawaii covering three islands, self-drive. Included numerous tours, I.e. helicopter tour, snorkel and sail tour, etc.

Used Audley Travel for a two-week trip to Hawaii. The agent was very knowledgeable about the destination and booked us on some very unique experiences that I would not have found on my own. While there were some issues, everything was either rectified or we were compensated for them.

In the time of COVID, utilizing a reputable tour operator is crucial!

We were unable to proceed with our holiday due to COVID closures and canceled our trip.

When Sweden closed to Americans, Audley offered credit. After cajoling and complaining, they refunded our money in full, hence I am editing my previously negative comments here. Consumers should be aware that travel insurance will not refund your money in the event an airline or tour operator offers credit for flights, hotels, tour plans, etc. even due to COVID. Whether or not one can use that credit is irrelevant to the travel insurance company because from their perspective, if credit is offered then the consumer has not incurred a loss. It is, therefore, imperative that one deal with a highly reputable tour operator, and in the end, Audley was that kind of tour operator. As a result, I would consider using them again in the future.

South African Adventure

Simply Incredible! We had an amazing trip organized and executed by the Audley team through out South Africa. We started our adventure in Cape Town, then made our way through the wine country (Stellenbosch and Franschhoek), and on to Swellendam, Oudtshoorn, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay, and finished off the southern itinerary on safari in East Cape. They get a five for half right!

I returned last month from Japan and Vietnam. The Itinerary was Huge for twelve days. It was full of useless information, but lacking in facts that I needed. Japan was hit or miss, but Vietnam was great. In Japan, I was sent to a Ryokan in Hakone for fifteen hours. This was a three train, two bus trip each way. The place was Awful. This was two days wasted of a twelve day trip. I wrote them a three page letter that was never acknowledged. ...

I'm giving it average, because I enjoyed Vietnam. Japan was poorly organized. I have traveled most of the world in the last twenty years. There are much better people out there. I have also planned my own trips.

New Zealand and Australia with Audley Travel

My husband and I recently used Audley Travel for a trip to Australia and New Zealand. The destination is great.

Regarding Audley, the hotels and most excursions were fine. However, you choose a travel agency for help with the logistics--easy directions, smooth travel, etc. This is not the case in our experience with Audley. First, Audley did not have us fly in a day ahead so that if any of the 4 flights to our initial destination was delayed, then we had a cushion. In fact the first flight was delayed. Any company that has been in this business as long as Audley should not have made this logistical mistake. In addition, it is extremely difficult to follow the directions Audley includes in their travel packet: key information is buried in non-essential information about the area, you have to flip back and forth in their book to find where you are supposed to be when. Critical information about hotels or transportation for example was spread out over multiple documents. For their prices, there is no excuse for this. As a point of information, both my husband and I are PhDs and we are comfortable dealing with complex information. Audley's documents are really bad, and this is s systemic issue. In other words, it is not the fault of one bad travel agent at Audley. It is the fault of the Audley process as a whole. At one of the hotels Audley uses, the person at the desk who was helping me with a very confusing Audley-booked excursion mentioned that about half the Audley clients had problems. The word she used for that half was "a disaster." I would highly recommend going with someone else who can make the logistics clear and easy to use. No travel agency gets credit for a great destination (no travel agency created the beauty of New Zealand or Australia). A good agency at minimum handle logistics well. Audley does not in my experience.

First Class Holiday

We have just returned from a First Class holiday to Vietnam organised by Audley Travel. Hayley Ryan organised it for us and delivered what she said she would. She even arranged a local sim for our phone just in case we needed to contact our guides. Hotels and tours were all excellent and within walking distance of restaurants and shops. Thank You Hayley for an excellent trip, we will remember it for a long time to come.

We visited Bangkok, Chiang Mai and Phuket.

We hired Audley Travel to assist of with planning our trip to Thailand. The agent assigned to us for the most part put together a good itinerary with a few notable exceptions: 1) he failed to inform us that each of our planned excursions from the hotel averaged 11/2 travel hours or more in each direction 2) he didn’t make the effort to secure requested seating on flights and 3) made multitlple clearical mistakes in the intinerary. We requested the best hotels and they were all very good. However, for the fees paid the trip felt “packaged” and not custom.

Excellent so far

We looked at 3 other well known operators to the USA. All itineraries were similar as were the prices. Audley stood out in terms of the detail put into the itinerary and the impressive hard copy pack and on line information. We don't go on holiday until the end of the year so we haven't been able to test out the application of the holiday, we hope it ends as it has started!

First time I've booked a tailor-made trip. Excellent. Great to collaborate flexibly on designing your trip.

I started out with a draft itinerary composed of chosen bits from two of Audley's advertised tours. Clair speedily picked up what I wanted, advised, discouraged, responded, proposed and gently steered me to a cheaper package than my original plan. Together we arrived at a confirmed itinerary within a week which included New Year. That's going some.

Super friendly, professional and highly competent

Working with Audley thus far has made planning our South America trip/adventure a pleasure. We are very pleased with the itinerary and can't wait to get going. Throughout the planning process Tom King has been a pleasure to deal with and clearly knows his specialist area. Travel is never without risk but we feel that the thought put in to our planning reflects exactly what we want to do/see and so increases the chances of a very enjoyable experience.

The trip of a lifetime made easy.

We had been mulling over a month long trip to New England for a while. We had previously spend a month in California / Nevada with another company and although had loved the trip had found the planning and organizing of it quite stressful as we had had to make our own decisions of where to go, what to do, where to stay without advice from the company. All the company did was book it for us. As retired professionals this was within our capabilities but it took a great deal of time and the responsibility was onerous as I constantly worried we were doing the right thing and not making unsuitable choices. At Audley, Amanda listened to our ideas and then came up with an itinerary, hotels etc for us. All the planning was there for us to see clearly in the online or paper version. So easy, stress free and within our budget. I couldn't have asked for more.

Second holiday with Audley - booked as a result of immaculate service the first time (South Africa). Ensure that you have a clear picture of what are your needs/wants/likes and dislikes to ensure that Audley gets it right first time to ensure your peace of mind. Have just booked our fourth holiday with Audley.Have found them to be excellent in every department.Area specialists have excellent first hand knowledge and are in no way pushey in trying to get you to book.All travel arrangements were spot on and made in consultation with us.Accomodation was excellent and the fact that they use well established local tour agencies and guides esures that you get a real feel of the locality.Really appreciated the personal touch before and during three previous holidays.They are not cheap,BUT it is well worth paying the extra to get that peace of mind and security when travelling long haul?

Audley Travel are just brilliant

Several of our friends have used Audley in the past and had spoken very highly of them so, when we had a trip cancelled at the last moment, we approached them and I cannot recommend them highly enough. Our specialist (Conor) is wonderful and has 'made it his mission' to get us out to the Falklands to see our daughter. Occasionally, when Conor hasn't been there or has been on the phone, I have spoken to other members of the team and they, too, have been so friendly and helpful; always cheerful and a pleasure to speak to. The detailed itinerary which has come through is just brilliant and so helpful. Although we are still awaiting confirmation of flights Conor has kept us informed through each stage and really has been brilliant. Definitely so far so good!

I travel alone and I have been used to planning everything myself. However, I am extremely impressed with the service I have received from Audley so far. It's very personal and very professional. Knowledge which comes with responsiveness and thoughtful suggestions ...

... so, all this started off with a long telephone conversation setting out requirements and discussing options and ideas. After all, a problem defined is half-solved! There then followed some thorough research and an equally thorough plan which was very well presented in a printed document. And the plan looks excellent! We are looking forward to the trip to the Ruaha reserve and Bagamoyo on the coast in Tanzania.

150% Satisfaction

In the past, I never used a travel agent due to the time I had to plan my own trips and I never thought I could trust an agent to plan my perfect trip, spend my money responsibly, and frankly, I always had a fear of fraud. My job now prevents me from spending quality time planning my own trips and so I reluctantly decided to use a travel agent. Fortunately, I chose Audley and from the start, I was extremely satisfied with the speed that my itinerary was completed and then the trip itself. From the moment my vacation began, I was guided through my trip without having to think about traveling from point A to point B or scheduling or anything that would cause time wasted or stress. All I had to do was set my alarm (or not). I will use Audley for all future trips and hope that there isn't a destination that they can't plan.

Costa Rica joy

We had the most incredible honeymoon in Costa Rica and we will forever be grateful to Rebecca for this. She was outstanding at every stage of the process. The trip was seamlessly planned, with the ideal amount of time at each location, maximising experiences and also allowing time for relaxation. Rebecca clearly understood and balanced what we wanted from our trip – better than we knew ourselves. The accommodation was luxurious in ways we could have never imagined (even when labelled as basic!) We really valued her knowledge and joy of Costa Rica. She readily provided advice at every stage including when we were in country. Thanks to Rebecca a last minute zip-line experience was a highlight for someone who is afraid of heights!

First time ever using a travel agent, I'm sold!

We've always made our own travel arrangements, researching and booking everything. But recently, we took a trip to South Africa that involved a lot of moving parts, including travel to different parts of the country, then a cruise from Capetown up the west coast of Africa, ending in Barcelona, Spain, with finally travel back to the UK. On the recommendation of one hotel we were planning to stay at, Kruger Shalati, we contacted Audley to help us. I didn't know what to expect but I was blown away by the level of service they provided. From simple things that I've not thought of arranging before--like having an airport attendant in Johannesburg help us through immigration & customs, drivers at every stop who knew the local language--as well as arranging bespoke private tours that matched our interest, a whole new world of travel has opened up for us. I was also thoroughly impressed with how well our travel specialist, Louise Gibbs, prepared us for the trip with all our travel documents, arrangements, important numbers, etc. set up in a lovely little binder that was mailed to us. The binder also included EXTREMELY helpful info about expected weather conditions and local customs (especially regarding tipping for service) in the places we were visiting which we referenced often during our trip. After this experience, I'm sold on the value of working with a travel agent to take a lot of the headache and work of planning trips off my plate so I can enjoy more of my trip!

Great expectations were met.

Spent almost a year from the original rough plan to the actual trip. We couldn't find what we wanted on our own. Brittany listened and added ideas when needed. We were then able to look at revisions until we were comfortable. Good recommendations throughout, and we didn't have to find & book side trips. The ease of jumping from one location to the next was seamless with the plan. Loved our phone chats with Brittany and her knowledge of our sites. Turned out to be the most relaxing fun filled trip we have every taken.

Such an amazing surprise!

Such an amazing surprise and so unexpected! I was just unpacking the cases and sorting the laundry as we literally had just arrived home for a trip and the phone rang. A call from Candice Du preez from Audley advising I had won £1000 to spend on a holiday, in a competition! I was so delighted, the call came out of the blue and was perfectly timed. With their amazing ideas and tailored holidays, it's going to be tough picking where to spend the money as there is so much choice, but I know the planning and trip will be a truly memorable experience and I can't wait to tick another destination off my bucket list! Borneo Experience

My husband and I recently visited Borneo for a 60th birthday " Bucket List" trip. The experience was amazing, not least because of the meticulous planning by Audley. Our Japan trip was to be a trip of a lifetime

Our Japan trip was to be a trip of a lifetime. Once we paid our full trip cost we heard nothing though Asha From Audley said we would talk more about details of trip three weeks out. Three weeks came and we get an email Asha had a wedding to go to and then she will be in Korea. Long story short run from this agency. Asha built us an itinerary for a 30 year old we are in our late 60’s and 80’s. It’s sad when a trip of a lifetime is ruined by greed!

Bangkok and Singapore - Asian Treasures

Audley Travel did not miss a beat! Alix paid attention to every detail from departure to what to expect inflight and in country as well as while taking regional flights to transferring to an adjacent region or country. I can't say enough about Audley Travel. For anyone who is hesitant to using a travel company, please consider the convenience, peace of mind and details that they take care of so that you won't have to! The car transfers from the airport to picking out the best hotels and excursions. They will make you want to travel over and over again because you'll be well rested and happy that you didn't have to do all of the legwork. Classic Costa Rica

We had a great time in Costa Rica based on the Classic Costa Rica tour - communication at home was excellent and usually by phone which made things very personal. My only complaints are that we changed flights in Miami for which we needed an ESTA, which was mentioned in our written itinerary but not mentioned in communications, so we had a last minute panic getting this sorted. Also, our detailed itinerary was given to us by the ground agent in the taxi from the airport to our hotel when we arrived after a 22 hour door-to-door journey, which wasn’t ideal! This could have been done before we left the UK. Also, because we made a few changes/additions to the standard tour, some trips were not necessary. This could also have been addressed beforehand and given us a little more free time. Other than this the organisation, hotels and service were excellent.

Very poor customer service

Booked to go to Japan many months ahead and very excited. Unfortunately our specialist rep left and her replacement was not very efficient. She promised things, calls that never materialised. I booked with them because I suffer from anxiety and wanted all the stress taken away. Her inefficiency left me stressed before we left. We missed our flight connection due to late departure and we were abandoned. No help during a weekend. Lost paid for trips and tickets as no rep. would rearrange to meet us. Now trying to claim compensation and constant stalling. Yet again booked phone calls not received. Japan is wonderful by the way but not the experience I was expecting from Audley. Well this review certainly got their attention. To be fair it was very quick. Lots of apologies and a full refund on the trips we missed out on. We have now received the promised 'pack' and it's such a shame we didn't have it before we went. It is really lovely and lots of info which would have been really useful. Lots of phone calls to keep me updated on progress with compensation and a very nice little voucher for a weekend away. I think you can judge a company more by the way it handles complaints and they handled ours very well . Sad I had to complain though. On reflection I think I would book again with them

This was the third time that we had used Audley for a special holiday and once again we were very happy with the service that we received whilst booking the holiday and we had an amazing trip. Fantastic trip to Kerala in India

Fantastic trip to Kerala in India. Both main resorts I stayed in were amazing. Personal driver was friendly and knowledgeable. Upgraded myself to a Villa with a private pool at Marari Beach, which was worth doing. Altogether a relaxing holiday, rejuvenating my personal well-being with great food and lovely attentive resort service. Hannah who arranged my trip with Audley Travel was first class at her job, nothing was to much trouble.

Absolutely can't fault Audley (Cara) it…

Absolutely can't fault Audley (Cara) it was a holiday booked at short notice and was the holiday of a lifetime. Non stop, but the trips with EastWest were fantastic. They are small minibusses so not suitable for some but we went places where coaches can't go and the drivers were local and took us places only Icelanders go, hidden gems. And at the last minute we went to see the Northern lights, last minute decision and the gods rolled out the red carpet for us, clear sky moon under the horizon and the sky lit up like I'd never have believed, I won't forget it to my dying day. Anyway Audley booked us a wonderful trip. Everything went like clockwork, they send you a lovely keepsake book with itinerary everything you need to know. I am already planning next year with them.

Amazing Galapagos

This is my sixth trip with Audley and once again Audley have fulfilled every part of the journey. I have had an amazing two weeks in The Galapagos which was put together by Caroline Revnell. From our first conversation and facetime call to the phone call a couple of days before departure nothing was too much trouble. The hard copy of the itinerary was admired much by fellow passengers on the two weeks aboard Yolita 11 and Audley was the topic of several conversations. (Perhaps more business will come your way) This was truly a holiday of a lifetime and it may be hard to top!!!! Our travel expert Brittany was EXCELLENT

Our travel expert Brittany. We decided to see the tulips in the low country on short notice. Brittany was knowledgeable and saved us from making the mistake of renting a car...something we typically do in Europe. She was able to get us great guides and access to the sites we hoped to see. She never 'over sold' us on what could be accomplished on short noticed and we were thrilled with what she planned. This was our 6th trip with Audley and we could not be more pleased.

The Best trip to South Africa & Safari

What an amazing first class fabulous and fantastic trip to South Africa with our wonderful friends. Andy Freeman from Audley Travel organised an excellent trip starting in Cape Town for 5 days then driving down the Garden Route stopping in Swellendam, Plettenberg Bay, Wilderness, Oudtshoorn, Franschoek and finishing with the most wonderful Safari at Rock Fig which was excellent. There wasn't one thing we could fault about the whole 17 day trip (albeit we may have changed a couple of things) but it was outstanding. Thanks so much Andy and would 110% recommend it to anyone. South Africa was simply stunning and the people were fabulous. Love The Drewerys & Griffins xx

Galapagos and Ecuador

We had an amazing time in the Galapagos Islands and Ecuador in April. It was an unforgettable experience. Claudia from Audley Travel handled the initial booking and took the time to understand exactly what we liked and did not like before moving forward. The end result was the perfect holiday. Her suggestion of visiting the Mindo Cloud Forest was inspired and suited us perfectly. Bellavista Lodge was incredible and the Galapagos Endemic Cruise beyond words! Scott took over our booking when Claudia moved on and was extremely helpful with flight issues which were resolved. The itinerary detail both on paper and in the app were perfect and every transfer was on time and very well organised. All our drivers and guides were wonderful. This holiday exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be using Audley Travel again.

We wanted to travel to Borneo for my husband 70th birthday!

We wanted to travel to Borneo for my husband’s 70th birthday. It had been a long awaited trip to see Orangutans in the wild. We were not disappointed. Treasured memories

Just returned from an unforgettable 3 week trip to Peru, Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands. As usual, Audley Travel and our rep Caroline Revnell organized everything perfectly. Experiencing Japan

We have recently returned from a trip to Japan organised by Charlotte Smith. The trip exceeded expectations and we were truly inspired by the wonderful temples, gardens, sightings of Mount Fuji and excellent guides. The people we met were very friendly and helpful. We experienced staying at a riverside ryokan with thermal pools and on the 30th floor of Media Tower in Tokyo. A juxtaposition of the tranquil and frenetic. Borneo - trip of a lifetime

We have recently returned from our trip to Borneo with Audley Travel. Our representative, Charlotte Callin really understood what we wanted from this trip and the key “must haves” and key “must not haves” eg avoiding short transfer times between flights and put together a bespoke itinerary, covering all the places we wanted to visit and made suggestions for additional things that she thought might appeal eg a guided trip to a locals only street food venue. Her in-depth knowledge of Borneo and expertise made our trip really fantastic, one we will never forget. The holiday more than lived up to expectations, the local ground team and tour guides were just as fab. Really good service all round from Audley

Excellent service from start to finish

Excellent service from start to finish Had a last minute long delay meaning we missed connecting flight Hannah was brilliant sorted a hotel overnight for us. All transfers were well organised and on time we had a brilliant guide who stayed with us from pick up in Borneo to return to airport 5days later The hotel on Gaya island was lovely for a bit of relaxing Transfers back to the airport were perfect Our guide in Singapore was lovely gave us plenty of time to look round no rush what so ever and just us. The information we received in the book and email was really helpful and we could plan what we wanted to in advance in Singapore Would definitely recommend and we will use them again

Seychelles Holiday

We booked a holiday to the Seychelles through Audley Travel. it was a great trip very well organised, the hotels all met more than our expectations. We particularly liked Denis Private Island. We visited 3 islands in total where all the hotels were well appointed and gave us very good service. The travel arrangements were always on time. we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Audley Travel.

Having booked our very successful 2019 holiday to Canada through Audley Travel I was totally confident I would receive the same high level of service for my recent trip to Australia, and I was right. Our three week trip to Australia

Our three week trip to Australia was organised by Jindy. It was a complex visit with three city stays and numerous pick-ups, flights, tours and hotels. Remarkably, each and every arrangement went according to plan and totally met our expectations. The trip simply couldn’t have happened without Audley’s expertise and I would recommend them to anyone considering such a journey. Their backup and documentation was of the highest quality and although we never needed any assistance it was a comfort to know it was available. All in all, top class.

Peru, our best holiday so far!

We returned last week from our recent wonderful trip to Peru, the latest of several trips that we have made with Audley. Caroline Revnell was our specialist this time and after taking the time to get to know us and our expectations, she advised and planned the trip perfectly! Everything ran like clockwork; the hotels were all great, the local drivers and guides an absolute pleasure to spend time with, and all our excursions so enjoyable and with so many highlights. A honeymoon to remember in Borneo

Simply flawless

Simply flawless! I booked a holiday through Audley Travel for myself, both my parents and my partner. I wanted to give my family an experience they would never forget. It began before we stepped foot out of the house. The extra touches that Cassie provided were fantastic. Welcome pack, the phone call and email check-ins. The transitions between airports was an incredibly nice touch. It really put my parents mind at ease. And the South African Safari at Geiger camp was absolutely out of this world. We saw so many beautiful animals. Following this we went to Mauritius and the hotel was absolutely beaming. Organisation, nurture, advice, and delivery was absolutely on point. Very poor customer service

Spoke to 2 different consultants about awesome trip to Mexico. Both promised to provide quotes within a week. I never heard from either of them again. I've no idea why the didn't want me as a customer but whatever the reason their approach was highly unprofessional and very bad manners. If younhaventhe choice avoid them at all costs.
