We strongly recommend not to use blog name generators for any purpose. There are a lot of downsides to using a name generator for the purpose of choosing a blog name.

Here are few reasons why we recommend you not to use a travel blog name generator:

  • Risk of being flagged as spam or duplicate website
  • It can limit your creativity

You’re probably reading this article because you decided to take the big step in learning how to start a travel blog — and that’s awesome! …But of course, you’re temporarily stumped because you seem to be in need of ideas for travel blog names.

In fact, you might be one of those people who have been keeping a certain name in mind… only to find out that someone else had already taken that same clever title for their blog!

Now don’t worry and don’t be discouraged . There are still a LOT of ways to come up with creative or kickass blog names that will resonate with you. And while we’re in that line of thought, it also helps to note that there are actually a lot of other factors that you have to keep in mind because this blog name will set the direction of your domain, your branding, your identity, and yes: your business.

Even if you can technically change your travel website’s name at a later time, it’s an action that you must avoid especially if you have already gained some traffic or authority, AND if you don’t want to waste time, effort, or money! In other words, you must be sure of your choice; BUT the good news is: your travel blog’s name doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be right for you.

…It’s turning into such a daunting task, isn’t it? But don’t fret because you’re not alone in this. I’m here to help. After all, I’ve gone through this same dilemma far too many times — not only when I was thinking of travel blog names for this site but also for the other number of websites and businesses that I have built — and boy, have I learned!

That being said, yes, I still feel a tinge of regret for naming my site as it is now; but I do have this *funny* lifelong goal of making ‘Aileen’ a well-known name worldwide that is NOT, in any way, related to the famous murderer, Aileen Wuornos. So far, I’m succeeding because I’m 2nd on the list of Google’s top results. Yay!

Without further ado, let me help guide you through this naming process so that you WON’T make the mistakes that I’ve made.

5 Steps for Choosing a Travel Blog Name

Step 1: find your target audience and specific niche.

Find Blog's Niche with Blue Ocean Strategy

No matter if you’ve already thought of this or not, it’s absolutely important to refine your travel blog’s niche in order to establish your unique branding. Truth be told, this is the very first step that you need to take when learning how to start a blog because it will naturally help narrow down your choice of words as you come up with ideas for travel blog names.

You might be thinking, “ well, isn’t the topic of travel already specific enough? ” Nope, not really . Travel is a broad industry and it has so many subtopics (that are even further broken down into more subtopics) , and it is important that you find that particular segment that will help set you apart from the crowd. Besides, you can’t just establish yourself as an authority for travel tips because people will trust bigger names more such as that of Lonely Planet. So yes, you really need to build yourself first from the ground up in a niche that plays to your favor so that you can gradually gain traction and make a name for yourself.

So in case you haven’t done this part yet (as per my beginner’s blogging guide ) , the first thing that you need to do is to adopt this new concept called the Blue Ocean Strategy . It is a definitive process that will help you be in a ‘blue ocean’ rather than a ‘red ocean’.

  • In an existing saturated niche with lots of competition
  • Exists in a broad spectrum
  • Slow growth and tries to capture existing demand

“A blog about traveling in a van”

  • In a new market with little to no competition
  • Exists in a specific spectrum
  • Stands out and captures new demand

“A blog about traveling in a van on a budget for families in the USA”

As you can see, if you’re in a ‘blue ocean’, there is a deeper potential for you to achieve rapid growth because you are targeting a distinct market space that is untainted by competition yet still filled with a lot of opportunities. To be able to arrive at your very own blue ocean, you can take out a pen and paper and start writing down some topics or styles of travel that you’re interested in — or are good at.

With all those ideas laid out before you, you can now follow these 3 steps to narrow down your blue ocean:

  • First, find a broad or common theme that you want to tackle or find a solution to in your travel blog ( a target market : e.g. people looking to travel in a van)
  • Find a subset of that theme or target market that you want to specialize in ( a niche : e.g. families in the USA looking to travel in a van on a budget)
  • This last step isn’t usually done by most but it helps to imagine the kind of ideal individual that you want to “serve” so that you have a clearer idea of the audience you want to target. To find this special profile, simply imagine an individual with clear characteristics that you want to cater to as dependent on the niche you picked from step #2 ( the ideal client/reader/audience : a parent in the USA looking to bring the whole family to travel or live in a van indefinitely yet sustainably on a budget in order to avoid high house rental or mortgage costs, and maybe even find a way to make a living while doing it such as through remote travel work) .

It might also help to ask yourself these additional questions in order to find the answer to the above steps:

  • What is a pressing need that travel readers often seek?
  • What top travel problem do I want to address?
  • What reader demographic will I resonate with the most?
  • How can my blog offer unique solutions to those problems?
  • What unique perspectives can I apply for my blog to separate myself from the rest in the same niche?
  • What is my vision or my end-goal that I hope to achieve with this travel blog? .

I hope it’s also apparent enough that these questions will help shape the overall branding of your website — which your travel blog name is a part of!

So now that we’ve found that sweet blue ocean that your blog will be positioned in, it will serve as a guiding light now as we proceed to step #2 that lists out the different ways that you can come up with your travel blog name.

STEP 2: Brainstorm travel blog names

Brainstorm Blog Name Ideas

Don’t fret if you aren’t creative enough with blog names because the truth is: you can be ! You just need a little push or inspiration and I’m sure that the pointers in this section will help you out. But before I start listing out some methods, let me take this moment to ask you this: what tone or voice would you like your blog to have? Do you want it to be fun, casual, and light? Or more mature, professional, and serious?

Once you get that sorted out, enjoy to your heart’s content the number of formulas, methods, tips, and tricks below that will aid you when thinking of potential travel blog names. Don’t hold yourself back — just list out every possible name you can think of (no matter how silly or plain it is) and we’ll do the last checks as we move forward to the next steps.

Descriptive

It doesn’t hurt to be simply straightforward with your travel blog name by describing what it is or what you want to do. As a guide, these two simple ‘formulas’ have been tried and tested to work:

Travel Blog Name = (your target audience / niche topic / keyword) + (your blog’s end goal / mission / vision) ~ Example: Working Holiday Experts = (young people seeking working holiday opportunities) + (to make readers as experts)

Travel Blog Name = (your target audience / niche topic / keyword ) + (the type of person that you are) ~ Example: Hiking Tyrant = (trails and hiking activities) + (undefined by rules and prefers to take charge and find something different)

Remember how this nifty book helped you with your college essays and assignments? Well, a thesaurus can help you come up with interesting travel blog names too! Some examples of words that you can use as dependent on the type of target market you want are as follows…

Adventure Travel = daredevil, epic, feat, legendary, unreal, vagabond, voyager

Budget Travel = bargain, cheap, frugal, on the rims, practical, prudent, thrifty

Couple Travel = duo, deuce, dyad, match, mated, twain, twosome, yoke

Family Travel = clan, dynasty, folk, forebears, kith and kin, progeny, tribe

Foodie Travel = bite, chow, cuisine, fare, grub, munch, nibble, slop, vittles

Luxury Travel = deluxe, frill, lavish, opulence, ritzy, splendor, sumptuous, upscale

Solo Travel = by oneself, lone, only, peerless, sole, solitary, stag, unaided

Sustainable Travel = bosky, clean, eco, green, meaningful, puerile, verdant

Volunteer Travel = bolster, enlist, proffer, relief, serve, support

Abbreviation or Acronym

This isn’t quite a popular way to come up with a travel blog name, but if you have the right combination of letters (that you can even partner with an extra word) , it can turn out to be a hit that’s short yet sweet!

Example: LDN Diaries (London Diaries)

Adapt a Popular Title or Quote

There are a lot of short and catchy sayings, quotes , idioms, or titles (of books, songs, movies, etc.) that you can try to make use of, especially since they already have strong ‘recall’ in everyone’s minds. To use this, simply swap one of the words with your own blog keyword!

Example: “Every Breath You Take” = Every Flight You Take

Alliteration

Alliteration is when words that start with the same letter or even the same sound are used repeatedly in a phrase or sentence (sometimes, they are even called tongue twisters). The beauty of this kind of style is the flowing rhythm or sound that they make for your brand name — and if I may add a tip, don’t use more than 3 words!

Examples: Everything Everywhere Johnny Jet Savouring Simplicity Thrifty Traveler

Do you happen to like a certain word in your native language or dialect? As long as it’s easy to pronounce and spell, don’t shy away from using it!

If you can only speak English, you can make use of Google Translate for ideas; after all, using a foreign word (and even mixing it with English or another foreign word, especially if they collectively sound good) can be a great way to brand your blog.

Need more inspiration for names?

Check out these top 50 foreign and unusual travel words !

If you want to apply a casual and warm tone to your travel blog, coming up with a fun travel blog name can do the trick! Some style examples that you can adopt are as follows:

  • Puns and Humor: Nomadasaurus, Will Fly for Food, Girl Eat World
  • Slang: Wanna Travel, Gimme Them Points
  • Drop a Vowel: Trip Hackr, Flight Hustlr
  • Made-Up Words: Brand names like Uber is a made-up word. Feel free to use Wordoid to come up with words like this; but do also check if the word might have some other meaning in other languages and you can use the site Word Safety for that.

Juxtaposition or Oxymoron

Oxymorons are a figure of speech wherein two opposite or contradictory words are joined together; whereas juxtapositions are similar but rather involves placing two or more words or things side by side to show contrast or to compare. What both of these concepts basically mean is that you could come up with a unique blog name if you put two seemingly unrelated words together.

Examples: Alone Together Working Vacation Flight Ninja

Name or Nickname

If you love your name as I do, why not use it as one of your ideas for travel blog names? Some people have gone as far as to use their whole name, while others have used a nickname or even a pseudonym. This works best for personal branding and it even gives you the flexibility to expand your blog’s scope or niche if you happen to desire a rebrand in the future. Nevertheless, just take note that if you want to sell your website or if you want to expand and take on additional writers, it might be hard to do so since the domain is associated with you as a sole personality.

Examples: I am Aileen Adventurous Kate Nomadic Matt Alex in Wanderland Gone with The Wynns

Portmanteau

A portmanteau is a blend of two or more words (or even part of words) that expresses the combined meaning of those words. A typical example is ‘brunch’ which is the combination of the words breakfast and lunch. If you want some added help or tools for this, try out websites like NameMesh or Word Combiner .

Examples: Listverse (list + universe) Flightary (flight + documentary)

Prefixes or Suffixes

Prefixes are groups of letters added to the start of a word to change their meaning or function (e.g. auto-, anti-, hyper-, mono-, sub-, trans-) — alternatively, suffixes are added to the end (e.g. -able , -eer, -ious , -ism, -ity, -ness) . There are a lot of examples for each of these two and a quick Google search will show you a complete list.

Examples: Autowander Travelette Wanderous

STEP 3: Screen brainstormed blog name ideas

Screen Travel Blog Names

At this point, you probably have several ideas for travel blog names that are written out — BUT , before we proceed, it is vital that you go through these last checks in order to filter out the travel blog names that won’t be making the cut, as well as to ensure that you are choosing only the appropriate ‘candidate’ names.

  • Is it related to travel? This is totally up to you as per the kind of tone or branding that you want your blog to have, but for as much as possible, try to incorporate a travel-related keyword into your title to give your readers an instant idea about the niche you’re in. Additionally, if you do this step, it will help you rank better on Google’s search algorithm given that it will be more SEO*-friendly; however, try to avoid words like adventurous, backpacker, global, journey, nomad or wander because they are already used a LOT by other travel bloggers especially big influencers like Adventurous Kate, Nomadic Matt, and Wandering Earl. I say this because you want people to recall YOU when they think of your travel blog name, so if you go for a name that goes like ‘ Nomadic YourName’ , you’ll make other people think of Nomadic Matt instead of your site and this will be detrimental to your branding since you are putting yourself in direct competition with these big authorities. .
* What is SEO ? It’s short for ‘Search Engine Optimization’ and it’s an important aspect that every website owner should know of when learning how to start a travel blog. After all, knowledge of SEO will help increase the number of visitors on your site, as well as its visibility on search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. . If you want to learn more about this, you can go to Moz or SearchEngineLand given that they offer great FREE courses for SEO beginners like you! For more comprehensive courses, check Udemy .
  • Avoid hyphens or numerical numbers because you risk people typing them out wrongly when they spread your blog’s name by word of mouth.
  • Homophones or words that sound the same but spelled differently (e.g. bytes = bites)
  • Homographs or words that have the same spelling but do not necessarily sound the same
  • Avoid words that are not easily recognized or spelled by others, even more so if you are going to use words that are not in English (unless of course, you want to focus on audiences in your home country) . To check this, you can do a phone test to check if your friend (or better yet, an elderly) can spell your travel blog name correctly after they hear it over the phone. If they’re having a hard time spelling out your blog’s title, you’ll know you’re picking the wrong name.
  • Ask a friend’s opinion. This doesn’t mean that you need their approval to use the name you thought of, but another person’s opinion (especially someone who knows you) can provide valuable insight about your choices.
  • Say the name out loud. If it ever makes you feel awkward, then there might be a reason why it made you feel that way. Remember that this is the name that you will be introducing to others in the future, so make sure it’s something you’re not embarrassed about. .
  • If you don’t intend to travel as a backpacker forever, don’t choose a name that will suggest that, or you’ll find it harder to score with bigger luxurious hotels in the future.
  • Using trendy words like yolo (you only live once) might be cool now, but will it feel tacky to you in years to come?
  • Don’t come up with something like ‘365 Days of Travel’ if you plan to keep your travel blog for more than a year
  • Don’t use ‘Teenage Traveler’ unless you want to perpetually target teenage travelers as a niche. After all, well… you are going to get old. Of course, it can still be charming down that road, but it’s up to you.
  • Consider that if you put ‘The Philippine Nomad’, readers might think that you’re just concentrated on the Philippines; unless that’s what your travel blog really is about. .
  • Is it a good domain URL? For example, if you pick a name like “ Speed of Art ” if it’s squished up as a website URL it will look like: www.speedo fart .com — now, you wouldn’t want that, would you? .
  • Is it already existing or trademarked? Try Googling your travel blog name ideas. Use quotation marks (“your blog name”) to see if this exact phrase has already been used on another site, or if it’s related to some shady website or branding. If you’re in the USA and you’re planning to register your blog as a business in the future, it’s a good idea to check if your name is trademarked. You can check this by going to USPTO .

STEP 4: Check domain URL availability

Domain Availability Checkter Tool

You now have a list of narrowed down travel blog names — and that’s great! Now, it’s time to check their availability as domains *.

What is a domain? A domain name is the unique ‘address’ of your blog on the internet. This is your URL. For instance, this blog’s domain name is iAmAileen.com and it will remain to be my unique identifier for as long as I continue to pay an annual fee. . Yes, a FEE . To be able to get these .com names, you would have to pay — rest assured, if you follow my how to start a travel blog guide, you’ll get your domain name for FREE!

To check if your travel blog name idea is still up for grabs as a domain, go to Bluehost to check.

…Chances are, most if not all of the names on your list are already taken; however, don’t give up just yet! Go back again to step #2 and brainstorm for more names. Rack your brain for other alternatives, variations, or ways to alter the name since they might be available as domains if you just change the order or spelling. Don’t hold back either in surveying your competition in order to get more ideas.

On the other hand, if one of your suggestions is available and it’s a name that you LOVE to have — hold your horses! Don’t get too excited just yet.

  • Is it a .com domain URL? A lot of newbie bloggers are tempted to buy domains that end with .photography, .life, .recipes or any other TLD (top-level domain or extensions). While it may seem attractive to buy a domain that represents what you want your blog to be, it is ALWAYS imperative that you pick a .com domain as your main URL. It’s a lot more authoritative and search engine-friendly; not to mention that a lot of people are just so used to typing .com. But okay, if you really want that .life domain, you can do that BUT as an additional domain that you would redirect to your .com so that it still remains to be the main domain of your travel blog.
  • TIP : If you have the extra money, try to purchase extra domains of your blog name under other popular TLD extensions like .co, .info, .net and .org. This is just an added safety measure that I’ve been doing ever since I heard about a story from a web developer friend that I had wherein her client wanted to buy her website’s .co and .net domain variant, but someone already bought them. In the end, they asked her for an exorbitant amount of money just to transfer the domains to her! This is definitely a special case, but it doesn’t hurt to be careful.
  • Is it available as a username on social media? Go to this website called as KnowEm and check if the name is available across all social media websites. For as much as possible, you should NOT be forced to use dots (.), hyphens (-) or extra words (‘the’, ‘we are’, etc.) to secure your name on those platforms, most especially if it’s a social media channel that you want to be most prominent in (e.g. Instagram) . Don’t be like me who is now forced to use @i_am_aileen on Instagram, just because someone beat me to the @iamaileen username — and I kid you not, it’s hard to type all those underscores and it even takes a while to dictate to others my username… However, if this is truly the name that you want and you don’t mind the extra special characters, then it’s totally fine to proceed to the last step below…

STEP 5: Buy the domain and park social media usernames

Buy Travel Blog Domain and Hosting with Bluehost

As I’ve mentioned in step #4, Bluehost can easily secure the domain name that you desire.

For a complete and comprehensive guide on how to proceed from this step up until the set up of your blog’s website, you should refer to my guide about how to build a blog .

Lastly, go to each social media channel that you want to target, sign up, and ‘park’ your username so that others won’t be able to grab it.

…and yes, that’s it! You have now secured your travel blog name!

FAQ on Travel Blog Names

Yes, definitely! If you follow my blogging guide and sign up with Bluehost , you can start building your website even if you don’t have a name yet.

I highly suggest that you go for a .com address because it’s a lot more authoritative and search engine-friendly — not to mention that a lot of people are just so used to typing .com.

If you really want that .life domain, you can go ahead and purchase it, BUT only as an additional domain. Meaning that you should redirect it to your .com domain address so that the .com still remains to be the main domain of your travel blog. (“Redirect” — did that sound complicated? Don’t worry! Just chat with Bluehost ‘s customer service team and they’ll be happy to do it for you.)

Some websites like Godaddy can act as ‘brokers’ wherein they will contact the owner of that domain that you like and then negotiate with them on your behalf (they will get a commission if the negotiation turns out to be successful). This is clearly a costly process but if you really want a certain name for your blog’s branding, it doesn’t hurt to give it a try. Just take note that in most cases, the original site owner might refuse to sell their domain, and the fees you paid with the broker are often non-refundable.

13 Tips: How to Come Up With a Good Travel Blog Name

Below you’ll find expert tips on creating a memorable travel blog name. Read some advice and some dos and don’ts to follow:

1. Don’t Use Hyphens, Numbers, Characters, or Wrong Spellings

Using characters, numbers, hyphens, or punctuations can give you a hard time remembering and searching for your travel website names. There are already too many blogs, businesses, and pages that your audience follows or sees in their feeds.

So why not give them something catchy yet easy to spell or write so they can remember you? Plus, simple names are good for branding. Ever seen a big brand with travel website names flowered with characters, hyphens, or numbers? No? That’s the reason.

2. Foresee Years Ahead

Keep in mind your personality, future plans, and goals when choosing travel website names. Why? Because here’s how these factors can affect your blog’s name: if you choose a name just because it’s catchy, but you don’t vibe with it, you’ll eventually tire yourself of creating content around it. Or, it won’t match with the type of person you’ll present yourself in the content.

Plus, when it comes to your goals, where are you traveling? Sticking to your hometown only or planning to roam around the world?

For example, if you choose ‘travel tales of los angeles’, the outside audience might be less excited about your blog’s name or simply won’t care. Also, it will be difficult for you to target global audiences.

So, be mindful of everything beforehand.

3. Brainstorming Helps

You’re aware already that you can brainstorm a name for your travel blog, then why is it in the top tips list? Well, because we tend to overlook it when thinking of travel name ideas.

Partly, because of being lazy. We google everything in a snap. But, hear this out; a lot of awesome travel name ideas come during brainstorming. That’s why businesses spend hours in brainstorming meetings, for example.

So, take your time, relax, and brainstorm ideas while on a morning walk in a nearby park. That time of the day is when the mind is fresh, distractions are less; who knows, you might click something epic. Another great way to get your creativity flowing is using an AI writing software to generate names.

4. Check Other Travel Bloggers

Take inspiration and see what’s already working by hovering over other successful travel bloggers. Rephrasing already used names can be a quick fix, too. For example, ‘*name* explores’. Visit feedspot to discover your competitors and gather more travel name ideas.

5. Find a Keyword Inspired Name

Finding a better keyword-inspired name, especially travel nicknames, can be a tricky business. But, if you become successful doing so, here’s how you’ll have an advantage: your audience will qualify you as a blog of their interest instantly.

Name can be keyword-inspired

Plus, search engines will easily qualify you as a travel blog and might even rank you higher in related search terms. Combine these two benefits: you’ve a better reach, faster.

6. Mix, Match, or Find Rhyming Words

Explore glossaries of travelling, discover new words in dictionaries and thesaurus, or put your middle name before or after a word.

When thinking about travel nicknames, mix, match, and crossbreed words. Generate something new. It doesn’t necessarily need to be meaningful: but it should be catchy, simple, and relevant.

Examples: Google, sony, and Kodiak are meaningless words, but behind these words, are amazing brands of all time. When searching for travel nicknames, visit thesaurus , wordhippo , and rhymer for this one.

7. Stay Away From Overused Names and Clichés

Overused names and clichés don’t create hype or interest. Your audience is probably used to them. There’s a chance they might even simply ignore after seeing your blog’s name. For instance, ‘travel blogger’ is a lot less exciting than ‘roaming in magic lands’. But catchy travel names can make a difference.

So, stay far away from clichés and generalities. Put some thoughts and research into catchy travel names, and create something specific that stands out.

8. Descriptive, Verb-Driven, or Statement-Driven Name Can Be Powerful

Names like ‘let’s do travelling’, ‘exploring asia’, or ‘tales of frozen lakes’ can be moving and powerful. These names drag the visitors in. Verb-driven names contain call to action, which feels inviting and powerful.

Plus, descriptive names paint a picture: see an example, tales of frozen lakes; this name presents the exact picture, gives something to imagine what the blog is about. Also, people who’re in love with frozen lakes will be instantly drawn towards your blog because of such catchy travel names.

So, try to put some interest through call to action or presenting a clear picture.

9. Go With Anything Unique, Easy to Read, and Pronounceable

This tip is also closely related to #1. Something that’s easy to pronounce and unique has also the tendency to be memorable. When considering luxury travel blog names, this aspect becomes even more vital. People from different areas of the world will see your blog’s name; after all, you’re a travel blogger.

Picture this: if someone non-English in another corner of the world asks about luxury travel blog names while travelling, you tell them, and what if it’s really hard to get on the tongue for them?

Think that deep and big already. Keep it short, less than 15 characters. Something that even a 7-year-old can read and pronounce. You’ll get a brandish name for your luxury travel blog.

10. Check the Availability on Social Channels Before Purchasing

Check if you’ve social media handles available for your blog’s name. You’ll not only write and publish for your web blog , but also you’ll be active on social networks.

Most of the travelling audience hangs out on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook. So you’ll need to create accounts there as well to attract visitors on your blog.

11. Expressing Your Personality Might Create Interest

Express your vibes. Are you adventurous? Are you a wanderer? Are you a thoughtful spiritual traveller? Are you a cool character taking amazing insta photos around the world?

Express your energy in your blog’s name. That fuses emotions. Emotions can lead to interest. And interest can lead to long-term followers.

12. Attach a Story/Outside Element

Don’t just limit ideas to typical travel page names. Include a strong specific and positive narrative, message, vision, you name it.

For example, when considering travel page names, think of concepts like “travelling to inspire people”, “go green traveller”, or “volunteer traveller”. These positive messages generate instant respect, credibility, and create impact.

People will be willing to follow your travel page everywhere just to support your narrative. But, be honest with it. Say what you truly stand for to achieve long-term success.

Don’t limit yourself

Next, you can also add a fun element. For example, “travelling with pets”, “travelling with radio”, or “travelling with fidget spinner”. These fun or outside elements give more to imagine. They’re like side characters around the protagonist.

Also, these can fuse curiosity and interest: “why is he travelling with a radio in 2021?”, “what’s it like to travel with pets?”, “is he really using a fidget spinner on the roads?”, “I need to see that”.

But, don’t just name it; present that element in your content, too.

13. Fact Check Your Blog’s Name

After you’re done deciding your name, do some final fact check, just like you’d do in a final draft of something. Here’s how:

  • Check if the name is already taken.
  • Check if you’ve any legal issues with the name.
  • Ask for feedback from your family members, friends, or work fellows. If they say it’s short, sweet, easy to read and spell, and relative, you’re good to go.

Ultra pro tip: never ask for feedback on the internet, you might get your idea stolen.

If you’ve chosen your desired name, register your name instantly before it might get taken:

Guide: How to Register Your Travel Blog Name via Bluehost

Why Bluehost? It’s one of the reputable hosting service providers with over 2 million users. They’ve been helping businesses and bloggers since 2003. During our research, we discovered immense positive reviews, especially on their customer support team.

Moreover, they’re more affordable than most web hosting companies. That’s best for a travel blogger like you to easily manage your hosting cost and travel budget at the same time.

If that’s not convincing enough, hear this out: you’ll get to register your domain name free of cost for a whole one year.

Here’s your guide:

  • Visit the main page; click where it says get started .
  • Here, choose your plan. For starters, ‘basic’ is good. You can always upgrade later.
  • Next, enter your domain name in the ‘create new domain’ box. Always shoot for .com domains.
  • Now, fill in the required information correctly. In the extras menu, we recommend getting ‘domain privacy + protection’ to protect your personal info. Uncheck other boxes in the extras, you can find free plugins for those or better service providers later.
  • Submit, and you’re ready to edit your website through WordPress, and create awesome content.

10 Philippine Travel Blogs You Should Read and Follow

10 Philippine Travel Blogs You Should Read and Follow

By continuing to read this article, you agree to double check with the authorities or other concerned entities for the latest updates.

It almost always happens. Whenever I finish giving a talk or lecture about travel blogging (and blogging in general), I am almost always asked which other travel blogs I read and recommend.

Travel blogs come in various forms, shapes, and colors and each has its own purpose. Some promote destinations by providing useful information (travel guides), some showcase incredible images (photo blogs), others chronicle their memorable trips (travelogues). Like most online users, I too am a fan of other travel blogs that help me plan my next trip or inspire me to travel more and write more, or both.

Here are ten of my absolute favorites in no particular order. (This list does not include blogs of friends who are very close to me.)

WHAT'S COVERED IN THIS GUIDE?

1. Eazy Traveler

eazy traveler

Edgar Alan Zeta-Yap is a wordsmith as well as a lensman. His photographs alone are enough to make me come back to his blog often (sometimes more often than he updates). But that’s not the only thing that makes Eazy Traveler the blogging gem that it is. Edgar has a way with words. He describes each place he visits with such clarity and precision that the place becomes a character, a driver, the type you are dying to know more about; and the writer becomes the vehicle. His articles are short but is never deprived of action — a brief encounter but always remarkable. In his posts, the place is alive and this life is what he brilliantly captures in his concise paragraphs and incredible photographs.

langyaw

Like most good things in this world, the articles on Langyaw.com are short and sweet. These bite-sized posts offer a glimpse to Estan Cabigas’s moments on the road. Estan prefers the road less traveled. His tone is always conversational and unpretentious, like a friend narrating in flurry a recent adventure or discovery. But this friend shares, not brags. And don’t get me started with his pictures.

3.  Two2Travel

nikka corsino owen ballesteros

Another power couple in the local travel blogging scene: Nikka Corsino and Owen Ballesteros. This duo will probably cringe at the sight of the phrase  power couple  in the same sentence with their names, or they will probably ask me to remove it (hope not!). Nikka and Owen are just two of the  humblest  human beings I have had the pleasure of meeting personally, a rarity in this world, considering that they are also also two of the most gifted.

You know those times when you’re down and you have to look at something uplifting? Some people stare at the stars, others at old pictures. I look at Two2Travel. It is a visual treat: neat, light, pretty. I could browse to no end (but alas, they have finite number of posts). Their captures are inspiring and almost always powerful enough remind us that this is indeed a beautiful world. The writing is just as light, always an easy read but never devoid of substance.

4. Flip ‘n Travels

If each travel blog were a movie, Two2Travel would be one of those colorful, Amelie-type, feel-good romantic blockbuster. But Flip N’ Travels? Ah, this one’s gangster! Bonnie and Clyde, anyone?

What happens when you put travel, wit, sarcasm, and great writing together in one corner of the web? Just add a sprinkle of intimacy (read: sex) and you’ll have the recipe for a lethal concoction called Flip n Travels. I have yet to meet in person Ron Cruz and Monette Fernandez, the writers behind this ridiculously addictive blog. Not that I need to. After all, the blog is so personal, the reader is treated not just to an exploration of a place but an adventure through their unambiguous and distinct points of view. A treat, yes, because what sets the blog apart is their unique perspectives, not very common these days.

fliptravels

The one thing that I adore most about FlipnTravels is that it shifts the focus from the place to their relationship with it. It refuses to be confined by the pressures of SEO and travel guides. The place is highlighted enough but it becomes a mere setting, albeit active and essential. The focus is the experience — the odd, the hilarious, the insightful — told through words carefully chosen from their bottomless box of humor and stash of witticisms.

Travel blogging can’t be any more entertaining (or sexier) than this. It’s highly addictive. And this serves as your warning.

5. The Transcendental Tourist

transcendental tourist

Speaking of substance… Another personal travel blog that I have fallen madly in love with is the Transcendental Tourist by AJ Poliquit. He masterfully fuses useful information and entertaining experiences in one article that can be taken by the reader without getting lost. His beautifully woven sentences not only grab the readers and teleport them to that place but also make them think, feel, and appreciate it both as a physical space and as an experience, transcendental or otherwise.

Still, AJ manages to keep his storytelling enjoyable by throwing quips and personal remarks about his encounters in the already potent mixture. Like FlipnTravels, the Transcendental Tourist adds humor and personal touch to his experiences to make a blog that boasts effective substance and excellent form more than anything.

6.  Yellow Adventures

yellow adventures hannah reyes

While the Transcendental Tourist takes the audience to his world through letters, Hannah Reyes of Yellow Adventures uses her lenses to do the same. Oh and she does it so well!

Hannah needs no words to tell a story.  Almost each shot and its elements are adeptly thought out, beautifully composed, and effectively motivated. Hannah magically loads pixels not just with light and color, but also meaning and emotions. Every single one of them talks. They whisper, they scream, they boast, they beg, they talk. Like all photos should.

It was Robbie of The Travelling Dork who introduced her blog to me, and it took only one slow scroll down the first page of her blog to captivate me. It was instant. If I ever doubted travel blogging as an art form, Hannah just schooled me right then.

7. Lakad Pilipinas

lakad pilipinas

One look at Lakad Pilipinas and you know the guy behind it is a talented son of a… Oops, that’s my envious alter-ego talking. But seriously, there’s just so much to envy about Christian Sangoyo and a big chunk of that is his impeccable photography. His unassuming blog is teeming with photos so hypnotic you’ll be tempted to pack your bags and plan a trip to that place right away. Or if you’re me, you’ll be left sulking, wondering why you didn’t have right DNA to produce pictures as captivating as his. His writing is just as excellent, putting the reader right with him when he was there, sharing how he sees the world. And it’s a beautiful world, indeed.

8. Ambot-ah

ambot

A bombardment of awe-inspiring photos awaits you when you visit Ambot-ah, the flagship travel blog of Marcos Caratao. He turned his back on his profession to pursue a “free-spirited journey of adventure and self-discovery.” This journey has led him to the many corners of the country and Southeast Asia and he chronicles these trips on this blog in great detail. Ambot-ah is a visual feast, serving captivating landscapes and gripping portraits. Heck, even his selfies look like they were taken by God (Lol). Aside from the shots, he is also a storyteller and a helpful one at that, posting his itineraries for those who wish to follow his tracks. And he’s a nice guy, too!

9. Travel Up

She’s a traveler, a geek, a gamer, a biker, a motorcycle enthusiast. In one word, Kara Santos is an “adventurer,” ready for any type of adventure be it virtual or real. And nothing else documents the exciting and adrenaline-driven life she leads than her blog — Travel Up! The name of her blog was inspired by the video gaming concept of leveling up, “gaining higher levels of completing tasks and challenges.”

Travel-Up

Kara’s writing style is simple, easy to digest, and very “relatable” — allergic to empty adjectives. Yet, she successfully takes the reader on a ride to the edge. Yes, that may be it! The subject, the experiences themselves, is edgy enough that there really is no need to embellish it with words that only impress and intimidate. With her adventures, Kara makes Travel Up a fun and engaging read, and she does it oh so effortlessly.

10. Lakwatsero

I have always been a big fan of Lakwatsero even before I became travel blogger myself. Lakwatsero is a great go-to blog for comprehensive travel guides to destinations in the Philippines, from crowd favorites like Boracay to best-kept secrets like Cuyo. Angel Juarez, Lakwatsero himself, seems to have a knack for many things thrilling. He runs, treks, and dives, allowing himself to witness and enjoy the wide array of “worlds” that travel has to offer. You could say Lakwatsero is the ultimate Pinoy Travel blog if you throw in high quality photos… Oh wait, he has those, too!

lakwatsero

A great deal of descriptive skill is required to properly narrate a spatial experience in a factual yet entertaining fashion. I may have been a personal blogger for almost eight years now but I am new in the travel scene and, like I always say, I still have so much to learn.  Travel blogging isn’t easy (or not as easy as others think). It’s a rough, bumpy ride, I tell you, but the eight blogs above surely make it look like they’re just gliding through. And that, my friends, is pure talent.

So the next time you need travel ideas or inspiration, give these sites a visit and you’ll find yourself delightfully drawn by their restless spirit into their wildly nomadic worlds. And there’s no turning back from there.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I come up with a creative name for my travel blog?

Start by brainstorming words related to your travel experiences, interests, or destinations. Mix and match these keywords to form unique and memorable blog name options.

Are there any naming conventions to avoid when selecting a travel blog name?

Avoid overly complex or lengthy names, as they might be hard to remember. Also, steer clear of names that could be confused with existing brands or websites.

What are some tips for crafting an engaging travel blog name?

Consider using puns, alliteration, or evocative phrases that evoke wanderlust. Make sure it's easy to spell, pronounce, and remember for your audience.

How long should a travel blog name be?

Ideally, a travel blog name should be concise and memorable, typically ranging from 2 to 4 words. Shorter names are easier for readers to recall and type into their browsers. However, if a slightly longer name captures the essence of your blog and resonates with your audience, it can still be effective. Aim for a name that's easy to spell, pronounce, and reflects the spirit of your travel experiences. Keep in mind that overly lengthy names might become cumbersome and harder for readers to remember.

What is the best top-level domain for travel blogs?

The ".com" domain is often considered the best choice for travel blogs. It's widely recognized, trusted, and familiar to users. However, if a ".com" domain isn't available for your desired travel blog name, you can also consider other top-level domains (TLDs) like ".travel" or ".blog" to add a unique and thematic touch to your blog's web address. Ultimately, the domain extension you choose should align with your branding and help convey the essence of your travel blog to your audience.

How to choose a travel blog name

Naming your travel blog involves considering several factors to ensure that your chosen name authentically represents your brand and resonates with your target audience.

01. Decide on your blog niche

Cement your blog's niche , focusing on the specific aspect of travel you'll be highlighting, whether it's luxury travel, budget backpacking or cultural exploration. This will have a great deal of influence on the type of blog name you choose.

02. Understand your target audience

Identify your target audience and tailor your blog name to resonate with their travel interests. Consider whether they are adventure seekers, luxury travelers or culture enthusiasts. This will help inspire your initial brainstorming and once you've chosen your name, it's a good idea to run it past family, friends or readers within your target audience to see if it resonates with them as it should.

03. Use a blog name generator

Using a blog name generator can help if you're stuck for inspiration with your name. It's also a fast and efficient way to come up with a variety of names to choose from.

04. Brainstorm, brainstorm, brainstorm

Take the time to brainstorming words, phrases, and concepts related to your travel blog's theme. Don't limit yourself as the goal is to generate a wide array of ideas. You can then work from a longer list as you narrow down to the right one. Do't be afraid to mix and match works, for unique combinations and pairings. These often make the most interesting and memorable travel blog names.

05. Don't forget your branding

Next you'll need to check that you chosen travel blog name is available across various social media platforms so that you can make sure you're consistent with your branding. Using the same name across all your social media handles and channels makes your brand more recognizable.

If your preferred name is unavailable you might want to consider variations of it, to keep the essence of your original choice.

06. Register your travel blog name

Once you've decided on the perfect name, register it to establish your online presence. Check domain availability and register your domain through a reputable domain registrar for when you start making a website for your blog.

If you create your blog with the Wix blog maker , you can secure a domain name, get hosting provided and start a blog for free.

It's more than just wearing swimsuit and getting tanned under the sun. I embarked on this solo backpacking trip that lasted longer than my usual not for the bragging rights or anything. I chose to travel alone as I see it rather as a journey to self-actualization. I need to experience the world totally for what it is and coexist with it, outside my comfort zone and get a sense of euphoria, joy and wonder; to realize who am I, what I want, what I need to be in this world's context in order to transcend. It's a process of 'becoming'; even a search for a profound meaning to life and being. The process I must say is crucial and painful. I had to delve into the unknown, defy my self and others' convention, lose people along the way, face my fears that almost threatened my security. Regardless, I yearn for growth. I yearn for the understanding and acceptance of my nature and complexities. Because it's in this state that I could only allow myself to be understood and let others love me unconditionally. *sobs A post shared by The Queen's Escape ?‍♀️ (@annegumiran) on Apr 19, 2019 at 11:31pm PDT

Marami kang matututunan sa paglalakbay. Marami kang makikilalang tao, maraming makikitang iba’t ibang kultura, at marami kang mararanasang sitwasyon.

  • …at marami pang iba!

Travel Blog Names: Our Step-by-Step Naming Formula (Featuring 100+ Examples)

This article may contain affiliate / compensated links. For full information, please see our  disclaimer  here.

travel blog names

Coming up with a killer travel blog name is the first step in starting a travel blog, and boy is it an important one. You want to choose a name that shows off your personality and style, and conveys what your blog is about to eager readers.

When Tom and I first started our travel blog Adventure In You five years ago, we had no idea what it would grow to, let alone what to name it. Fast forward to today and traveling is our entire life, supported only by our travel blog… Dreams really do come true, right?

Choosing the right travel blog name is so important because it will be your blog, your brand, and your personal portfolio. You want to make sure your name conveys what you want to with your travel blog. And choosing a name that you won’t get sick of seeing doesn’t hurt either.

If you’re here because you need help coming up with a travel blog name, you’re definitely in the right place! In this article, I lay out all my tips for choosing the perfect travel blog name, along with words to use and travel blog name ideas.

After this, you should be well on your way to the travel blog name of your dreams!

Include Your Name

Travel blog name suggestions, existing travel blog names, how to come up with the perfect travel blog name in 5 steps.

Coming up with the perfect travel blog name doesn’t have to be hard. Just keep these tips in mind and the process will be a breeze!

Now before I get to the nitty gritty of this article, I have to say that in our years of helping other people start their blogs and eventually profit from their passions, a good chunk of people get stuck on the name.

Remember, although finding the perfect name for your travel blog is important, a name is just a name until you make something out of it!

You have big brands like Google, Xerox, Nokia, etc. who have names that literally don’t mean anything until they built it from the ground up.

My pro tip is to read this article and follow the steps to help you find a name that you love but don’t spend ages on it either!

travel blog title ideas tagalog

Step 1: Think About Your Blog’s Blue Ocean

The first step to coming up with a travel blog name is to think back to your blog’s Blue Ocean. This is your super specific blogging niche that allows your unique blog to stand out in a sea of other related blogs.

The Blue Ocean theory is one of the first things we teach our Blogging Fast Lane students because it’s key to setting your blog apart from the rest of the noise online.

As such, choosing a name that relates to your blog’s Blue Ocean will allow readers to quickly understand what your blog is about and realize that you have the answers they’re searching for!

For example, if your Blue Ocean is luxury travel for parents, you may want to come up with a travel blog name that includes words like “luxury” and “parents”.

Including niche specific keywords in your blog’s name is great for your blog’s overall SEO but it isn’t completely necessary.

If you haven’t already defined your Blue Ocean, that’s okay! But it’s definitely a step you want to take before you come up with a travel blog name.

While it may be tempting to start a travel blog that covers all things travel, it’s going to be exceptionally difficult to set yourself apart online without a solid focus.

Check out our article The Ultimate Guide to Finding a Profitable Blogging Niche to get your Blue Ocean nailed down now.

For us, this is KEY to seeing success with blogging!

Step 2: Make It Memorable

More than anything, you want to be sure to come up with a travel blog name that’s memorable and sticks out in people’s minds.

You can do this with a few different methods.

Add Alliteration

Alliteration is a choice way to get your blog’s name to stand out in people’s minds, and it’s so simple, too! All you need to do is choose a blog name with words starting with the same letter.

It’s no wonder the names Dunkin’ Donuts, PayPal, and Coca-Cola are so easy to remember!

Alliteration is made use of by travel bloggers far and wide. Just take these travel blog names as an example:

  • Camels & Chocolate
  • Anxious & Abroad
  • Flashpacker Family
  • Monkeys & Mountains
  • Thrifty Traveler
  • Nerd Nomads
  • Globetrotter Girls
  • Happy Hotelier
  • Everything Everywhere

Use a Thesaurus

Another way to come up with a memorable travel blog name is to use a thesaurus to spruce up your word choice.

A thesaurus is so handy when it comes to naming a travel blog because it gives you tons of variations of basic words you may want to include. What this does is creates a more engaging, spicy travel blog name that’s bound to be more memorable than one filled with generic words.

Let’s take the word, “travel”, for example. “Travel” is a pretty ordinary word (especially for a travel blog name), but luckily, the thesaurus gives some awesome synonyms.

travel blog title ideas tagalog

Words like excursion, trek, expedition, voyage , and wayfaring are all more memorable words to include in your travel blog name than sticking with plain old “travel”.

Come up with some words related to travel and your niche, and then plug each of them into thesaurus. Who knows the possibilities you may find!

Funny, Punny or Rhymes

Give your readers a giggle with your travel blog name and they’re sure to remember you, even way down the road.

Bloggers do this by coming up with names that are funny, using puns or even choosing words that rhyme! This creates a much more memorable travel blog name that sticks in people’s minds.

Here are some fun travel blog names that are catchy and entertaining:

  • I Should Log Off
  • Leave Your Daily Hell
  • Mommy Poppins
  • Bacon is Magic
  • Nomadasaurus
  • Will Fly For Food
  • Around the World in 80 Jobs
  • Gone Sun Where
  • Hole in the Donut
  • Girl Eat World

Making your readers laugh (Bacon is Magic, Will Fly for Food)  or associating your travel blog with a common phrase or name (Marry Poppins, Around the World in 80 Jobs) are standout techniques to make your blog… well, stand out!

One last way to make your travel blog name easy to remember is to include your own name. Doing this adds a dash of instant personality and may make it easier for you to connect with your readers because they know who’s behind the screen.

Using your name is also a great way to turn your travel blog into a full-blown brand that amplifies everything you! Not to mention it already puts you on track to a stellar travel blog name.

Popular travel bloggers that use their own name include:

  • Nomadic Matt
  • I Am Aileen
  • Runaway Jane
  • Alex in Wanderland
  • Heather On Her Travels
  • Adventures With Ben
  • Adventurous Kate
  • Wandering Earl
  • Todd’s Wanderings
  • Jack and Jill Travel

The only downside to using your name is that if you wish to sell your travel blog down the road (yes, this is something that happens!), it may be a bit more challenging.

travel blog title ideas tagalog

Step 3: Choose a Travel Blog Name That Will Grow With You

When coming up with the perfect travel blog name, you want to choose something that will grow with you. Pick a name that will stand true to you and your brand even five or ten years down the road.

Avoid putting yourself in a box with a travel blog name by choosing words that only apply to you now.

Here’s an example.

While yes, you may be young, broke and backpacking at the moment, what happens when you grow older, make some money and travel with suitcases? You’ll still want to use your blog, but this name simply won’t fit any longer.

Plus, having a name that boxes you into the categories of young, broke and backpacking may affect potential partnership opportunities with companies who fall outside of these realms.

Come up with something timeless and true, something that you can build a brand around and that can stick with you forever!

Step 4: Keep It Short and Simple

The best travel blog names are short, simple, and to the point. Don’t come up with a travel blog name that drags on forever, because let’s be real… who remembers those names anyways?

Two to four words should be enough to make your point, but also be sure to choose words simple enough that readers won’t have to bumble around with complicated spelling when they try to find your blog.

When you’re choosing a travel blog name, be sure to do what I call the “mom test”.

The mom test is when you call up your mom and tell her your blog name. If she’s saying “what? What was that? Can you spell that for me?”, your blog name could probably use some simplifying.

Step 5: Include Keywords Related to Your Niche

One last tip for coming up with an awesome travel blog name is to use keywords directly related to your niche. Doing this will allow readers to know what your blog is about and also gives search engines the same information.

When you have keywords related to your niche in your travel blog name, you’re making it much easier for Google to understand that your blog is a travel blog related to a specific topic.

This results in more authority, higher rankings, and plenty of traffic!

Some blog names that include their niche are:

  • Adventure in You (that’s us!)
  • Backpacker Banter
  • Europe Up Close
  • Twenty-Something Travel
  • Notes From Spain
  • Traveling Mamas
  • Solo Friendly
  • Luxury Columnist
  • The Winged Fork

Here are some popular niches and words you can consider using in a travel blog name:

Adventure Travel: backpacking, mountains, ridge, experience, coast, oceans, epic, extreme, legendary, ultimate, route, joyride, wild

Luxury Travel: glamorous, glitz, grand, comfort, extravagant, opulent, delightful, splendor, treat, frill, fancy, posh, pamper, swanky

Budget Travel: cheap, sensible, smart, inexpensive, economical, low-cost, reasonable, bargain, efficient, practical

Mindful Travel: friendly, eco-, wellness, cautious, respectful, conscientious, thoughtful, green. clean

Family Travel: group, bunch, lineage, generations, siblings, kin, dynasty, gang, team, squad, posse

Food-Focused Travel: cuisine, snack, munch, feast, devour, enjoy, inhale, nibble, bite, chew, breakfast

Solo Travel: lone, individual, single, solitary, stag, unaccompanied, companionless, unescorted

Couple Travel: duo, pair, set, team, twosome, Mr and Mrs, partners, mate

Try pairing words from your niche with travel-related words to see what you can come up with!

11 Essential Pinoy Bloggers You Oughta Read

The great F. Sionil Jose once lamented, “ The Pinoy is shallow, mababaw ang kaligayahan .” The media, is to be blamed, he said, and writers for not being  critical enough. Some days I agree with the old guy, what with the number of mediocre blogs I have to come across with in my pursuit of read-worthy ones. With how commercialized blogging has become, poorly written blogs burgeon every day, and sadly, blogging has turned into a revenue generator more than it is a passion. …Which is why I tip my hat to these Pinoys who write insights and stories in an approach that defies the status quo.  At the end of the day, blogging is essentially still about writing, and writing well beyond proper grammar and spelling. In an age where shallowness can at times be the norm, these contemporary writers put the class and substance back to the craft.

1. Gay Mitra Emami of   Pinay Travel Junkie and The Hippie Mum

travel blog title ideas tagalog

2. Nina Fuentes of Just Wandering and Evil Martian

As a Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards honoree, a Lonely Planet featured blogger and a PHL360 crew, Nina has helped pivot the awakening of independent female traveling in the Philippines. Just Wandering chronicles her travel adventures through Southeast Asia and beyond from 2006 onwards – back when traveling was a concept that’s generally perceived as confined to the upper class.

But while she is best known for Just Wandering, her personal blog at evilmartian.org offers a refreshing respite from her travel-heavy posts and advertorials on JW, and lets us peek into the more intimate side of Nina outside traveling. I for one, find it to be very warm and engaging than JW in some instances, and a visit whenever I am in the mood for some soul-searching, never fails to stir up some sensibilities.

3. Dennis Villegas of dennisvillegas.blogspot.com

A professor by trade, Dennis’ exceptional storytelling skills is seen in his accurate reportage of the Filipino life. His fearless, in-depth interviews with intriguing characters including Kristong Hari and the faith healers of Siquijor allow us commoners to have a glimpse of their lives and thoughts, outside of what is portrayed by the media.

Dennis tells a story as it is, without any judgments, biases or personal innuendos – something that’s also characteristic of the articles he writes for the Philippine Online Chronicles. This objectivity and ability to present interesting stories without resorting to sensationalism is perhaps, his blog’s biggest draw – aside from the absence of ads, chicklet, chatboxes or social media badges on his site, which makes for a seamless reading experience.

4. Eliza Victoria of elizavictoria.com (formerly Sungazer)

A seasoned and published poet and novelist (four books and counting!), Eliza bagged her first Palanca at 22. In the past, she worked for the Philippine Daily Inquirer and has appeared in several publications including Philippines Graphic and Philippines Free Press.

Eliza’s personal blog offers us a glimpse of the other side of the writing life (i.e. Writers don’t wax poetic all the time!). Here she shares her biggest passions: eating out and traveling with boyfriend J and friends, makeup, literature and movies!

Of particular interest are her movie reviews, which are refreshing, succinct and perceptive it is easy to mistake her for a movie critic (I wonder why nobody in that department has picked her talents up yet. She would make a wonderful, well-loved critic.).

5. Loi Reyes Landicho of The Professional Heckler

Remember that Dan Brown letter to MMDA Chairman Tolentino who recently made the rounds in Facebook? This guy is the brains behind it. Written with wit and novelty, The Professional Heckler is a breather from the usual slapstick/ dumb comedy we Filipinos are so accustomed to. Loi’s satirical jokes have been included in many political humor books as well as national broadsheets, and often expose truths masked by reality. His blog has been awarded in the Best in Entertainment/Humor category in the Philippine Blog Awards for four consecutive years as well as the 2011 Globe Tattoo Awards. If you need a good laugh, the heckler is the way to go. Just remember, bawal ang pikon! 6. Allan Barredo of Lantaw

Allan is what I would describe as an over-the-top blessed earthling – something his photoblog, Lantaw, vividly encapsulates.  Not only does he take spellbinding, Nat Geo-calibre photos, he has excellent storytelling prowess too. He can make the grubbiest of places seem like paradise sans post-processing, and make you feel like you’re breathing the same space through words.

Lantaw easily transports one to a magical world that these days, only Pinterest can provide. His waterfalls and seascape shots in particular, are absolutely stunning.  They compel you to see what is out there.   Allan’s captures bear a certain humanity and untouched beauty that could make even the most cynical of cynics weep, and the soul, calm and renewed. If that’s not raw talent, heck, I don’t know what that is.

7. Lori Baltazar of Dessert Comes First

It was a search on Cyma that led me to DCF, and boy, what a cornucopia of gastronomic wonders that particular Googling sesh opened.

A fellow dessert lover, Lori considers dessert to be most interesting course in a meal. Unlike many self-professed foodies whose knowledge of food is oftentimes pedestrian, this girl knows how to talk the talk, and walks it – quite very well, in fact. Her skills go far beyond taking presentable photos of plated dishes. She writes with precision, vibrance and rhythm. Sensuality, even. Her great passion for food shines through each store she rummages through, every dish and story she shares. With the caliber she’s bringing to the table, I honestly think that her blog is one of the most low-key, most underrated food blogs out there.

8. Nerisa Guevara of  This Lady Is Cold

9. Tourism Philippines

travel blog title ideas tagalog

10. Tutubi of  Backpacking Philippines

One of the earliest purveyors of travel blogging in the country, Tutubi started Backpacking Philippines in 2006, and has since spawned a plethora of well-documented, accurate travel information (including one of the first posts on Calaguas in the blogosphere), itineraries, budgetary suggestions, off-the-beaten path spots, and detailed place-to-place directions – which is perhaps the best part of his blog. I always say that if it’s from Tutubi, you can be assured you won’t get lost.  Being an extensive backpacker and a GPS/ Google Maps enthusiast, the guy knows his coordinates and routes very well, be it via public commute or private vehicle. See, he even plotted the earliest coordinates handed by Taiwan re: the Taiwanese fishermen- Philippine coastguard dispute and came up with Batanes – well before news hit the big screen. Yep, kind of dorky, I know, but extremely cool too, wouldn’t you agree? You chiccas would be so lucky. If only he wasn’t anonymous. (Two hints: He works in RCBC Tower in Makati and hails from Paete, Laguna.)

But what sets Tutubi apart is his patriotism and political awareness that so clearly resonates with his blog posts and Facebook updates. In an age where many travel and eat for posterity and race toward stressful, tight itineraries, this guy brings the beauty back to journeys by promoting traveling with deeper purpose, not merely to finish a bucketlist well ahead of others.

11. Jenny Ong of Chronicles of a Nursing Mom

A staunch advocate of breastfeeding, Jenny’s Chronicles of a Nursing Mom outlines her breastfeeding journey and her fight against milk formula feeding. From proper latching to breastfeeding laws, Jenny’s blog is brimming with well-researched, factual information on breastfeeding (and most times inconvenient truths, too), all written unabashedly with heart.  Her relentless passion and dedication to inform and help moms and moms-to-be provide the best nutrition for their kids is simply admirable. If you are an expectant mom or a mom who’s intent on offering nothing but the boob, this is a highly recommended read. Much like Kellymom, Pinoy-style (You singletons are probably thinking, “What is she talking about?” You’ll have your turn, just you wait!). The site also showcases Jenny’s three other passions: babywearing, cloth diapering and attachment parenting, all parenting ideologies that have once taken a backseat but are now making a huge comeback.

June 5, 2013 at 11:53 pm

June 6, 2013 at 12:38 am

Thank you for including me in this list. I am honored and humbled at the same time.

June 6, 2013 at 1:06 am

Ay well-deserved, Dennis. Thank you also for being an inspiration. And for those wonderful pictures of Siquijor! Dream destination ko pa rin ito 🙂

June 6, 2013 at 1:08 am

Allan, you're actually waaay too humble for a man of such great talents!

June 6, 2013 at 2:05 am

*Wink*. I hope more blogs develop that sense of inspiration for all us readers.

June 6, 2013 at 2:52 am

You're right. IMO, there are a lot of blogs that are poorly written but already became famous or considered as top blogs here in PH. I'm not saying this because my blog is perfect, but I mean, I hope these guys spend a little effort in minding grammar, spelling and depth of every post.

June 6, 2013 at 3:00 am

Well I suppose it is true that their is oftentimes more weight in marketing than there is in content as far as blogging in the Philippines is concerned. Not being an elitist here, I sure have a few grammatical or punctuation slips here and there, but like you I hope digital writers develop a sense of conscientiousness whenever they publish a post. Readers would definitely appreciate that. Makes reading more seamless and pleasant, don't you think?

June 6, 2013 at 8:59 am

Thanks Gretchen 🙂

June 6, 2013 at 9:08 am

I haven't came across some of them and thank you for sharing. I will take time to visit their sites. I still have a lot to learn when it comes to this cyber world. I have to focus more on the content rather than wrong spelling and grammar according to my proofreader of a husband. Lol

June 7, 2013 at 1:16 am

No problem, Nina ^_^

June 7, 2013 at 1:20 am

Aaw…thank you, dear. Haha, proofreader talaga si husband? We all are a work in progress naman, kahit ako may certain aspects of blogging na hindi ko talaga masyado gamay, like social media marketing. Hindi ko talaga forte yun. But with a little practice, mahahasa rin tayo. There's hope for us! hehehe.

June 7, 2013 at 2:42 am

Haha! Oo! Ang dami side comments eh. Gusto niya ata editorial writing ang gawin ko lol. Nosebleed ako dun. I like the optimism! Aja!

June 7, 2013 at 1:13 pm

I think we follow different sets of bloggers as per our likes, will visit the sites you recommended.

June 8, 2013 at 2:42 pm

The Internet is a beautiful platform to share your unforgettable endeavors online. Many people are entertained reading such stories and eventually get inspired to reach for their aspirations. Blog writing allowed the digital world to share what they think, feel, and know.

This article will teach you the secrets of making  blog titles for travel . You will discover the simple steps in doing so. Also, you will read a few examples below.

Why are Blog Titles Important?

Good blog titles are crucial to the success of every blog. They serve as the first impression of your readers regarding your blog.

It intends to make them feel inclined to stick around or click on the link provided to find more information. If your blog title is not impressive, no one will click on it.

It will instead remain a statistic rather than a website engulfed in readership. Your blog titles should attract and entice readers to keep the journey going .

Blog descriptions and titles are the most crucial element in any online blog. With the advent of blog sites, blog managers must pay particular attention to the title.

This can benefit the reader, especially regarding their understanding of the text. Blog titles are essential because they can help the reader comprehend what your blog is about.

Understanding the strategies you can use for a compelling blog title is essential.

The 3 Things To Remember When Making The Best Blog Title for Travel

As established, blog titles are essential to attract more readers to read your blog. It is the front identity of your text that decides the fate of your content.

For topics like travel and adventure, it gets more serious.

A multitude of blog writers focuses on travel and adventure. That is why you need to gain the upper hand against them.

You should know the three things to remember when making the best blog title for travel. Check out the tips listed below!

1. Find a Trend in Your Niche

Find a trend in your niche and ask yourself, “what is the current market of this topic?” Would you like to sit on an island, trying to figure out what’s around them? Would you like to relax with a drink in a bikini on a beach?

The best blog titles will catch people’s attention, one way or the other. The reason is that the blog title is the first thing anyone will read when visiting your blog.

Learning what kind of titles will do best in your niche and what type of blog audience you’re targeting is essential. If you’re targeting a travel audience, they will have a specific trend they’re looking for.

So, you need to make sure the title is patterned accordingly. If you’re targeting a travel blog, your title should summarize the entire content.

2. Get Creative With Your Theme

Next, you need to get creative with your theme. Start by looking at your niche or the subject of your blog.

If you have a specific theme you have been exploring, use that theme as inspiration for your blog title. Also, if you’re going creative with a new idea, you can use the theme name as your title.

A great way to do this is to look up the word in a thesaurus or word search engine. Sometimes, looking at the first page of a thesaurus, you’ll find example titles for the word.

It doesn’t necessarily mean that if you don’t find what you’re looking for. Consider what they stand for or the critical difference between the competition.

Once you’ve done that, think about the image that comes to mind and what drives that image. You can use those ideas to develop a theme that is unique to the site.

3. Attract Attention

Lastly, ensure that your blog title attracts attention. It should draw people to your blog from Google when it’s the first result.

If it doesn’t get enough results, you need to find a way to make it more appealing. You might want to go back and look at the factors you’re looking for that would attract visitors.

Ensure your website and blog name are easy to find and have a catchy layout.

Is the keyword searchable? Is the title catchy? Are there multiple parts that can draw interest?

When brainstorming for a blog title, these are all questions you should ask yourself.

Examples of Travel Blog Titles

  • Top 10 Best Food Destinations in Southeast Asia
  • The Best Beach Ever!
  • Introducing, The Maldives!
  • Top 5 Best Historical Places
  • A Tourist’s Guide to The Philippines
  • The Dos and Don’ts When Travelling in Italy
  • A Travel Diary
  • Europe to Asia Field Trip

  • Everything You Need To Know About India: Tourist Edition

In conclusion, making a catchy blog title can be difficult. However, it is an essential step in blogging.

It not only attracts readers to your blog but also increases your chances for success . Making a blog title is an essential part of your writing journey.

It tells the reader what the blog is about and what they should expect.
