About Old Dominion

Old Dominion is an American five-member country music band formed in Nashville, Tennessee. The band consists of Matthew Ramsey (lead vocals), Trevor Rosen (guitar, keyboards), Whit Sellers (drums), Geoff Sprung (bass guitar), and Brad Tursi (guitar). Their music is contemporary country with rock instrumentation, and has pop and hip hop overtones. They released their first self-titled EP in 2014, followed by the 2015 album Meat and Candy on RCA Records Nashville, which includes the No. 1 single "Break Up with Him".

Catch this band on their way up, they are about to catch fire! Seeing Old Dominion on the small stage, just by themselves at the MN State Fair was a huge treat! The Leinie bandstand was packed for both shows. This was our 3rd Old Dominion show in MN this year, so it was nice to have this personal glimpse of the band. A new album by the band is pending, and so looking forward to their new music, which they played several during their concerts at the State Fair. Also they have written for so many other artists and they covered their own songs, which is fun to see. I am still waiting to hear them cover the song they wrote with Sam Hunt "Make You Miss Me". Old Dominion writes their own lyrics and music, and they are a full band with such great depth of talent, between Matthew, Trevor and Brad who are the writers, singers and guitarists, Brad leading the guitar talent, and Trevor also on the keyboard. Matthew, the lead has such a rich voice with a full range of emotion packed into it. Whit on the drums and Geoff on bass complete the band. The humor the band shows in many of their songs comes through when on stage. Go see them!

The show was phenomenal. Morgan Evans started the show and got everyone excited when he brought his wife, Kelsea Balarini, onstage to join him for a duet. Jordan Davis followed him with an awesome set. And then the stars came out. I don't remember what Old Dominion opened with but initially their harmony was a little off. However, by the second or third song, they were hitting on all cylinders as their vocals, harmonies and of course their music, was on point from then on. And while the lead singer was personable and offered up tidbits throughout the show, they sang all of their hits. So there was very little downtime and you got your money's worth. This was my third time seeing them and I will definitely see them again, as they are one of the few bands who sound just as good live or even better than they sound on their albums.

What an amazing show! I had VIP tickets and began first with private show and Old Dominion got personal and made their fans feel like we were part of their crew. The love and passion for their music was felt through voice when played their songs. When the concert started for everyone Old Dominion came out powerful. They create beautiful moments with their fans by their heart felt songs. During the songs they wanted their fans to be part of the show by singing their songs with them. Living in that moment and absorbing those good vibes is what it's about. Old Dominion is amazing group that everyone should go see. After the show you're on a spiritual high because that's what their music does.

Amazing Concert! I had a great time! The music from Brandon Lay and Michael Ray was great. Old Dominion was fantastic! Would tell anyone to go see them if they have the chance! Spent Valentine’s Day there with my sister, we had a blast!

The venue was different. Seats were a little cramped. Some security said there was not assigned seats, others said we had no access to the main floor without tickets, which was rather confusing.

Out of a 1-10, Old Dominion is a 500. I first seen them at CMA fest 2016 and was instantly hooked. The interaction and energy they brought to the stage was infectious. Their Brewhouse show in Rome, Ga (10/26) was over the top awesome and has made it concrete clear that I will be seeing them every time they have a show in town. Thanks for being such an awesome band -- keep making music great again!

I loved the show it was the 6 th time seeing them the sound the interaction with the crowd was great and it’s never the same show twice they are my number one group I will be seeing them again with Kenny Chesney for the 4 th time on Aug 8 I can’t wait and I love all the songs on the new album was happy they played so many at the concert

My daughter and I went to see them. Amazing! So good live, vocals spot on and the live music fantastic, what artists! 3rd time I've seen them. Didn't realise what successful song writers they are for other well known singers. Love them to bits, if I could ever afford to I'd take my daughter to Nashville to see them play.

I am a 75 year old music fan (country and other styles). I try and go to as many as I can afford but cannot stand. Therefore o2 Shepherds Bush is ideal for me. Old Dominion were fantastic . They have a style of their own They cannot be compared to anyone else. Would see them again

Multi-Platinum group Old Dominion will continue touring across North America further into 2023 to promote their most recent album 'Time, Tequila & Therapy' . Their No Bad Vibes Tour gets started again September 7th in Grand Rapids and stretches into December making additional stops in Detroit, Pittsburgh, Elmont, Charlotte, Atlanta, Seattle, Rosemont and Nashville. Joining the tour on select dates will be special guests Priscilla Block , Adam Doleac , Kylie Morgan , Jameson Rodgers , Niko Moon , Kassi Ashton , Tyler Hubbard , Chase Rice , Kip Moore , Frank Ray and Greylan James .

Old Dominion released their fourth studio album 'Time, Tequila & Therapy' on October 8th, 2021 via RCA Records Nashville. The new album reached #4 on Billboard's Country chart and features a guest appearance by Gladys Knight on the track 'Lonely Side of Town' . The same year, the band launched their Band Behind the Curtain Tour with support from Ryan Griffin . Back in 2020, their We Are Old Dominion Tour was joined by Mitchell Tenpenny and Meghan Patrick .

Chart Rewind: In 2002, Diamond Rio Turned a 'Beautiful Mess' Into a Hot Country Songs No. 1

From there, Hauter and OD members Rosen, Matthew Ramsey, Whit Sellers, Brad Tursi and Geoff Sprung began dreaming of creating a place outside of the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville’s bar scene, a place that more closely recalled a time when Music Row-area songwriters and musicians would regularly meet up a local bars, talk music and play songs.

“Midtown in Nashville has played such a role in the history of our band,” Ramsey told Billboard via a statement. “From chilling at the bar after writing, to playing weekly into the wee hours of the morning. Even recently playing Whiskey Jam to launch our tour. It’s an important neighborhood for not only upcoming artists and writers, but for local people or tourists who want a good place they know they can go and have a good time. Odie’s will be that neighborhood bar for us all.”

“We’ve obviously found success as a band, but we really got our start in the songwriting community. Odie’s will have touches of our band’s journey for sure, but at its heart it’ll just be a great place to hang in the heart of the midtown area where we spent so many years finding friends and collaborators and trying to our craft,” Rosen also told Billboard in a statement.

On Friday night (Dec. 15), Old Dominion will bring their headlining No Bad Vibes arena tour to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, performing not only several of their hits, but also album cuts from their latest project , Memory Lane .

Reigning ACM Group of the Year and CMA Vocal Group of the Year, Old Dominion, today announced a new leg to their renowned U.S. No Bad Vibes tour. Visiting 30+ additional arenas nationwide, Old Dominion will kick off this new round of dates on September 7 th at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, MI . The band is set to wrap their continental U.S. tour dates at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena in December. Tickets on sale this Friday, May 5 at 10AM local time @ http://Tour.weareolddominion.com .  American Express® Card Members can purchase tickets before the general public beginning Tuesday, May 2 at 10am local time through Thursday, May 4 at 10pm local time.

Old Dominion has been crisscrossing the country on their No Bad Vibes Tour since January, playing high-energy shows in sold-out arenas to thousands of excited fans since the start of 2023. After a recent stop in the desert for a performance at Stagecoach Festival this past weekend, the band’s tour will next stop at the Enmarket Arena in Savannah, GA on May 5 th .

The group’s tour announcement comes off the heels of the group’s recent ACM nomination for Group of the Year, making this the eighth consecutive year Old Dominion has been nominated in the category. They have taken home the title the last five years.

Old Dominion also recently debuted their critically acclaimed new single “I Should Have Married You” (Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville). Reigning ACM Group of the Year and CMA Vocal Group of the Year, Old Dominion, announced a new leg to their renowned U.S. No Bad Vibes tour. Visiting 30+ additional arenas nationwide, Old Dominion will stop in Boston at TD Garden on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Tickets on sale this Friday, May 5 at 10AM local time on Ticketmaster.com.

Old Dominion has been crisscrossing the country on their No Bad Vibes Tour since January, playing high-energy shows in sold-out arenas to thousands of excited fans since the start of 2023. After a recent stop in the desert for a performance at Stagecoach Festival this past weekend, the band’s tour will next stop at the Enmarket Arena in Savannah, GA on May 5th.

The group’s tour announcement comes off the heels of the group’s recent ACM nomination for Group of the Year, making this the eighth consecutive year Old Dominion has been nominated in the category. They have taken home the title the last five years.

Old Dominion also recently debuted their critically acclaimed new single “I Should Have Married You” (Columbia Nashville/Sony Music Nashville). The track was written and produced by Old Dominion’s Matthew Ramsey, Trevor Rosen, Whit Sellers, Geoff Sprung and Brad Tursi alongside award-winning songwriter Shane McAnally.

OMD Announce Fall 2024 North American Tour Dates

Over the past four decades — give or take a decade break — the illustrious and critically acclaimed Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (OMD) have sold over 40 million records worldwide, establishing them as electronic synthesiser pioneers and one of Britain's best-loved pop groups.

Their 13 long players include benchmark-raising classics Orchestral Manoeuvres In The Dark (1980), Organisation (1980), Architecture & Morality (1981), and Dazzle Ships (1983). OMD conquered the United States, and yielded the 1986 hit, " If You Leave " from the Pretty In Pink Soundtrack. They have also achieved 12 top 20 hits on the  UK Singles Chart , as well as three top 20 hits on the US  Billboard Hot 100 .  Following the recent celebration of their 40th anniversary, OMD returned last year with their first new studio album since 2017's highly praised The Punishment Of Luxury , a record entitled  Bauhaus Staircase  (released via White Noise through The Orchard). The record is regarded as OMD's most explicitly political record and the crowning achievement of their desire to be both Stockhausen and Abba - born from the impetus to kickstart new explorations during lockdown when, as Andy McCluskey admits: "I rediscovered the creative power of total boredom." Predominantly written, recorded, and mixed by both McCluskey and Paul Humphreys (who has recently become a second-time father), Bauhaus Staircase's other main external influence was David Watts, mainly known as a rock producer who helmed Sheffield band The Reytons' recent No 1 album and mixed two tracks on the new OMD record. With Bauhaus Staircase, OMD have created a landmark album worthy of their finest work, showing a duo who are still perfectly in sync 45 years after their first gig at legendary Liverpool club Eric's. 

"I'm very happy with what we've done on this record," McCluskey summarizes. "I'm comfortable if this is OMD's last statement." In celebration of their new LP, OMD have also returned to the stage, currently in the midst of 40 sold out shows across Europe, UK & Ireland, including their biggest ever London headline show at London's O2 Arena on March 24th. Earlier this year, OMD announced their return to the States as well, with two dates at The Greek in Los Angeles (September 19 and 20). Now, the band has finally announced a full series of fall 2024 North American tour dates — tickets are on sale this Friday, February 23. "We are so excited to be able to tour again with a brand new album to showcase,” says Andy McCluskey. “It's been six years since we learned new songs for live performances. The songs from Bauhaus Staircase will fit beautifully into our setlist - we just have to choose which five to play, as we have to treat people to the hits as well!" Walt Disco will be supporting OMD on all North American dates. "Joining OMD on this incredible tour of the US and Canada feels beyond our wildest dreams.", says the band. "The tour across Europe and the UK so far has been nothing short of magic. OMD have always been musical heroes for us, but the support, wisdom, and friendship they've afforded us during our time together has deepened our respect for them more than we could have imagined. For a band like us, being given this opportunity could mean having a career, and we can't wait to show OMD that their faith has been well placed."

People's Choice Country Awards 2024: Complete Winners List

It's time to say "howdy" to the newest winners of the 2024 People's Choice Country Awards .

The annual ceremony honoring country music's biggest stars and songs, hosted by Shania Twain , was definitely a night to remember as many iconic singers were awarded top trophies. ( See the full list of nominees here .)

During the Sept. 26 event, Miranda Lambert took the stage to receive this year's Country Icon Award recognizing her decades-long career and influence on the genre, as well as her work as a shelter animal advocate, restaurateur and New York Times best-selling author. And Kane Brown accepted the Country Champion Award for his groundbreaking contributions to the music industry.

As for who else won big?

The night's most nominated artists included Zach Bryan , Beyoncé , Kacey Musgraves , Shaboozey , Morgan Wallen and Luke Combs , who were all up for top awards across 18 categories including Male Artist of 2024, Female Artist of 2024, Album of 2024, Song of 2024 and Concert Tour of 2024.

Plus, fans got quite a show with performances from Keith Urban , Kelsea Ballerini , Lady A , Parker McCollum , The War & Treaty and Brad Paisley .

Oh, and Shania impressed us much with her emcee duties.

I visited a century-old New York mansion that was modeled after a medieval French castle. Take a closer look.

• Falaise is one of three 100-year-old mansions open to tour at Sands Point Preserve on Long Island.
• Falaise was built by Harry Guggenheim in 1923 and was modeled on a 13th-century French manor.
• Guggenheim lived there until his death in 1971, upon which the land was gifted to Nassau County.

Long Island's North Shore is famous for being the inspiration for F. Scott Fitzgerald's iconic novel " The Great Gatsby ," which took place in the fictional towns of West Egg and East Egg.

One hundred years later, some of the best-maintained examples of the mansions frequented by characters like Nick, Gatsby, Jordan, and Daisy are located in Sands Point Preserve , a 216-acre park that was once home to the Gould-Guggenheim Estate.

Inside Sands Point, there are four mansions. Three are open to the public: Falaise, Hempstead House , and Castle Gould. The remaining mansion, Mille Fleurs, is a private residence.

In September, I visited Sands Point to see Falaise, the most mysterious of the three — tours are only available on weekends and you can only get there via Sands Point's transportation.

I paid $30 to visit ($15 to park and $15 for a tour), and I learned about its former owner, Harry Guggenheim, his passion for aviation, and his interest in art.

While I couldn't take photographs inside the mansion — adding yet more mystery to the property — I was able to document its stunning exterior and European-inspired details.

Here's what it was like to visit Harry Guggenheim's summer home.

Sands Point Preserve is a county park that's located around 30 miles outside of New York City.

This land used to be an estate owned by the Guggenheim family, but it has since been given to Nassau County.

There are three mansions available for the public to visit at Sands Point. The oldest is Castle Gould.

The second is Hempstead House, a Tudor-style mansion completed in 1912. Daniel and Florence Guggenheim bought the property five years later.

The third is Falaise, which means "cliff" in French.

The preserve only gives tours of Falaise on weekends from May to October.

You have to take Sands Point transportation to get to Falaise. It was around an 8-minute drive from the meeting spot at Castle Gould.

Falaise was modeled after a French castle in Normandy. It was one of Harry Guggenheim's three homes — he also had a townhouse in Manhattan and a home in South Carolina.

That's why the home has European details, like this stone-covered courtyard. The tree planted here is over 100 years old.

When it was completed in 1924, it was not a modern home, as it was inspired by a 13th-century mansion.

To the right of the entryway, there was an exposed garage. In the 1200s, this area would've been used as stables.

At Falaise, the area is used for vehicles, like famed aviator Charles Lindbergh's car, which is still parked in the driveway.

To the left of the home was a set of stairs leading to the yard.

The ironwork throughout Falaise is exquisite.

The yard used to have a rose garden, but when Guggenheim's doctor told him he needed more exercise, he added a pool.

Our tour guide said we couldn't get close to the pool as there's no water in it — the preserve doesn't keep it filled.

But I was still able to get a good view of the pool, the back of the house, and the lush gardens from behind the gate.

We weren't allowed to take photos inside Falaise, but it was filled with hundreds of pieces of art that the Guggenheims collected on their travels throughout Europe.

Inside, the home is relatively modest and quite dark. Most of the windows are narrow and small — for medieval French castles, windows were seen as a weakness against potential invaders.

In addition to running his family's business, Guggenheim was the ambassador to Cuba, a horseman, a pilot, and a cofounder of the Long Island newspaper Newsday.

The main draw of taking a tour of Falaise, though, is seeing the view from its namesake cliffs. On a clear day like the one I visited, I could see across the Long Island Sound to Westchester.

From here, you can see the outside of the light-filled breakfast room, which has large windows and a view of Long Island Sound.

Falaise is different from the other mansions at Sands Point. Castle Gould took inspiration from an Irish castle, while Hempstead House is also gigantic home.

On the other hand, Falaise is a much smaller, more intimate space. Guggenheim didn't want anything too extravagant — by his standards.

Falaise, like the other mansions, is worth a visit for anyone interested in the turn of the century, especially if you're interested in aviation as well.

U23 Beach National Team to Compete at 2024 NORCECA Tour

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (Sept. 27, 2024) – USA Volleyball is proud to announce the two pairs and two reserve pairs who will represent the Beach U23 National Team at the 2024 NORCECA Continental Tour on Oct. 6-10 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.

The U.S. women opening in the main draw are Ella Connor (Cal Poly) and Isabella Martinez (Cal Poly). The U.S. men starting in the main draw are Carson Barnes (Webber) and Ayden Keeter (Webber). Connor is a previous winner of the event with partner Piper Ferch in 2022.

Reserves for the women’s team are Emma Donley (Cal) and Brooke Rockwell (Stanford). Reserves for the men’s team are Gage Basey (Colorado) and Thomas Hurst (UC Irvine). Basey and Hurst took gold at the event in 2022.

Pool play begins on Oct. 7 and the Round of 16 elimination phase begins on Oct. 8. The quarterfinals, semifinals and the medal matches will all happen on Oct. 9.

Supporting the athletes of the 2024 Beach U23 National Team are Men’s Head Coach Nicole Christner (Beach NTDP Coach), Women’s Head Coach Cesar Benatti (Loyola Marymount University, Assistant Coach), Athletic Trainer Emma Stratmoen (USA Volleyball, Athletic Trainer), and Team Leader Chelsea Tupuola (USA Volleyball, Beach NTDP Coordinator).

At the 2023 U23 NORCECA Continental Tour, the U.S. brought home two silver medals courtesy of men’s pair Tate Calles and Brendan Onishchenko and the women’s pair of Sierra Caffo and Ella Larkin. The U.S. pair of Xolani Hodel and Delaynie Maple also earned the U.S. a bronze medal in the women’s tournament.

Beach Update: U.S. Earns Five Medals Across Two NORCECA Events

In the final beach update of 2023, we take a look at the results of the two most recent NORCECA tournaments, both of which took place in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic. The U23 Continental Tour and the Beach Finals closed out the competition schedule until the new year, so we will look one more time at the rankings. The U.S. also did well at the King and Queen of the Court series.

U23 Beach National Team Ready for NORCECA Juan Dolio

The U.S. U23 Beach National Team is set to compete at the 2023 NORCECA U23 Beach Championship in Juan Dolio, Dominican Republic. The tournament runs from Dec. 11-15 and will feature four U.S. pairs for both the men's and women's tournaments.

A swarming Old Dominion women’s soccer defensive attack limited the visiting ULM Warhawks to four shots and only one on goal on the night as the Monarchs took a 1-0 victory in Sun Belt Conference action Thursday night.

NORFOLK, Va. – A swarming Old Dominion women’s soccer defensive attack limited the visiting ULM Warhawks to four shots and only one on goal on the night as the Monarchs took a 1-0 victory in Sun Belt Conference action Thursday night.

“I think this was a big win for us tonight as ULM is a team that I have a lot of respect for. They’re very well coached and getting really talented players and it was quite a tactical battle tonight. It was a great game to be a coach in because you had to figure a lot of things out quickly,” said ODU Head Coach Angie Hind .

After an even first half, ODU (6-3-1, 1-0-1) was the beneficiary of a fortuitous bounce nearly 18 minutes into the second half. Katie Lutz served one into the box, aiming for Yuliia Khrystiuk whose crossing attempt found the foot of a ULM defender before it landed in the back of the net at 62:49 for the 1-0 advantage.

The Monarchs came out to start the second half forcing tempo and controlled the first 10+ minutes. ULM (7-4-0, 1-1-0), who had come into the game leading the Sun Belt Conference in goals scored with 25, didn’t manage their first shot of the contest until 13 minutes into the second half.

“I thought we were good in the first half, they were good, it was quite even. Second half we changed a little bit and thought we had a good burst of energy and pushed hard and got the goal I thought we deserved. To continue the game and keep the clean sheet is something that we are really proud of as we were put under a lot of pressure at the end,” Hind said.

ODU ended the game outshooting ULM 10-4 and held a 3-1 advantage in shots on goal. Each team had a pair of corner kicks with ODU having two in the first half and ULM having theirs in the second.

The Monarchs now go on the road for their next two games starting Sunday night in Harrisonburg against James Madison at 6 p.m.
