Between hectic airport lines, crowded public transit and dreaded delays, traveling is already stressful enough. Drab, poorly made luggage should be the last of your concerns. Enter Béis, actress Shay Mitchell's travel brand touted as one of the Internet's favorite places to shop functional and stylish suitcases — at equally attractive prices.

For the uninitiated, Béis is a luggage brand that rolled onto the scene with hard-shell suitcase sets and weekender bags dressed in monochromatic schemes . The brand prides itself on incorporating thoughtful touches. Business travelers? A separate laptop-sized compartment. Overpackers? A handle that indicates the bag's weight.

There's no denying its stunning designs, but we had to see for ourselves just how practical their offerings were. So, I recruited the best-selling Front Pocket Carry-On Roller as my travel companion from Brooklyn, New York, to Boston, Massachusetts. I also compared notes with our Good Housekeeping Institute pros who regularly perform rigorous tests on suitcases to determine which ones best suit different needs. We tapped Senior Textiles Analyst Emma Seymour for her expertise on all things Béis, including the coveted Carry-On Roller .

The bottom line: Béis luggage is an excellent investment for style-conscious, casual travelers — but frequent flyers willing to splurge may want a more durable option.

Founded in 2018, Béis (pronounced "base") made waves for its color-coordinated luggage, including a creamy Beige that became the brand's signature and a bubblegum Atlas Pink that perpetually sells out. TikTok helped propel the brand to viral fame thanks to hearty endorsements of the Weekender Bag , while luggage tags , tote bags and toiletry cases accompany its popular luggage.

That lineup includes four styles: a Carry-On Roller and a Front Pocket Carry-On , plus a medium-sized 26-inch Check-In Roller and a large-sized 28-inch Check-In Roller . Each suitcase is outfitted with a hard polycarbonate shell and 360-degree spinner wheels. But unlike other brands, Béis incorporates smart details like a retractable bag strap, a built-in weight indicator and a padded trolley handle.

As a frequent traveler herself, Mitchell said she thought about features she wished her old suitcases had. "I wanted to add a feature to the luggage to make it easy and simple," she told Bustle about the weight limit indicator. "It goes to one of the biggest goals for all of our products: Trying to make travel easier for people so they do it more."

Like other GH Institute-tested luggage such as Monos and Away , Béis suitcases feature a hard polycarbonate shell. Tougher than plastic and lighter than aluminum, polycarbonate suitcases generally earn high marks in our Lab tests — and Béis's carry-ons are no exception.

When traveling with the front-pocketed iteration, all my belongings (including my laptop, glass perfume bottles and souvenirs) remained perfectly intact throughout a bumpy ride in the luggage section of a Peter Pan bus. The padded front pocket cushioned my 16-inch MacBook during subway and train rides. I noticed some minor scuffs forming on the exterior. However, the Béis carry-on endured the excursion with no bumps or dents.

Our Lab expert, Emma Seymour, also performed several tests on the Carry-On Roller (sans front pocket) to determine how it may hold up over years of traveling. She put weights in the suitcase and dropped it repeatedly at a three-foot height from different angles. Similar to my own experience, the Béis carry-on didn't dent during any of the drop tests, though we did notice a few scuffs developing .

Seymour tested the suitcase's scratch resistance in the Textiles Lab, and she found that it scratched and scuffed easily, especially around the edges by the zippers and handles. Fortunately, the textured matte finish wears the scratches and scuffs better than a shiny suitcase. We recommend buffing out scuffs with a sponge, like the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser .

Ease of Use

Whether you're traveling by subway, train or bus, the Béis Carry-On maneuvers like a dream. Its 360-degree spinner wheels glided smoothly across a variety of surfaces despite my heavy duffle strapped atop. Another one of my favorite features is the cushioned, telescoping handle. The squishy padding made rolling the suitcase through crowds far more comfortable, and it added a luxe touch compared to more expensive suitcases I've tried.

All Béis suitcases also come with a built-in scale, which Seymour appreciated when she had to check in her bag at the airport. Simply lift the suitcase by its side handle, and the discreet weight indicator window will turn red if your bag is over 50 pounds .

Béis makes light work out of packing. Using the carry-on with a front pocket, I had more than enough room to stash essentials for a long weekend — though, strategic packers (armed with handy packing cubes ) could probably fit a couple of weeks' worth of clothing. I fit everything from winter clothing and a pair of boots to a Béis toiletry bag and a full-sized hair dryer.

Compared to the Monos Carry-On Pro (39.9L) or the Away Carry-On (39.8l), Béis claims the Front Pocket Carry-On offers a 47L interior — all while staying within airline regulation-approved dimensions. Those who need a smidge more space can opt for the classic Béis Carry-On that expands from 49L to 66L of packing space, per the brand. However, it's important to note that this model exceeds some airline regulations, meaning you may be asked to check it on smaller planes.

Both carry-on styles open butterfly style, with a zippered compartment on one side and a main compartment on the other . Inside the zippered side, there are two additional pockets built in — one frosted and one opaque — for holding toiletries, undergarments, chargers and more. A fabric divider keeps items organized while the adjustable compression straps give optimal packing room and help prevent items from shifting.

Just be careful not to overstuff the zipper pockets; otherwise, it can be difficult to close the bag. An added perk I loved: All Béis suitcases come with drawstring bags for dirty laundry or shoes.

For casual travelers, yes! Stylish and affordable, Béis luggage best suits those who only travel a handful of times per year or those who don't mind treating their suitcases with a bit more TLC.

During both personal use and Lab drop testing, the carry-ons were easily scuffed. Frequent flyers who need a suitcase to last them through years of continuous use may want to invest extra money in workhorse suitcases like Samsonite or TravelPro . I also found the Béis slightly harder to zip up than other suitcases when fully packed.

What it lacks in durability, Béis makes up for with premium details: an ergonomic telescoping handle, a built-in weight indicator, a bag strap and a handy TSA lock system. Weighing in at 8.6 lbs, it's slightly heavier than Monos or Away, but as an overpacker, I find that added storage a fair trade-off.

Aesthetics aside — luggage is a big investment at the end of the day. We appreciate that Béis offers some of the most attractive luggage we've tried while ringing in slightly less expensive than its competitors at $218 to $248 for a carry-on.

Impressed by its airline-compatible dimensions and under-$100 price tag, we dubbed the Mini Weekender the most stylish weekender bag . The Béis Work Tote also earned nods from the GH Institute as the most fashionable work bag .

If you prefer a more classic style, the BÉISics Duffle is a great alternative. Similarly, it features a handy trolley strap that secures your bag on top of your suitcase — a lifesaver during long commutes. The Dopp Kit was larger than I expected, conveniently designed with two separate compartments for my makeup and skincare. I had a difficult time getting it to lay flat in my carry-on suitcase when packed to the brim, but it fit all the products I needed for my trip with room to spare. Plus, it's under $50.

The Beis Luggage Review You Need To Read Before You Buy: Worth The Money?

When I first started seeing Beis Travel ads in my Instagram feed, I immediately got the itch – that bag had to be my bag! The monochrome colors combined with the suite of features explained so clearly and quickly in the brand’s social media videos grabbed and kept my attention. I am a traveler that weighs aesthetic as much as durability and comfort, so I loved seeing a new brand trying to rise up to this challenge at a price point that was not astronomical in the luxury category. Now that I have used my suitcases for several long-haul flights and train rides, I wanted to provide insight in a full Beis luggage review on how good (or bad) they really are and, ultimately, if they are worth the money.

My Beis Luggage Experience/Intro

I received my Beis Travel luggage as a Christmas present – thanks Dad! – and have not been compensated in any way to write this review. I thought it was important to share my thoughts on such a hyped-up product for several reasons!

For one, the purpose of my blog is to help travelers, so it just makes sense to share my personal experience and insights on a product other travelers are considering to buy.

Secondly, I have always gone back and forth between suitcases mattering at an aesthetic and/or functional level. At the end of the day, suitcases get thrown around and beat up while traveling. I am one of those people that thinks – why would I invest so much in a suitcase? – but also one that loves having a cute suitcase to travel with . So I thought it was important to not only measure the Beis luggage durability but also share if its style met or exceeded the features it comes with to justify the investment.

On that note, traveling on a budget will always be part of who I am, since I started traveling while I was a student. So, when investing in travel products, I really take time and consideration to make the purchase. I hope that this Beis luggage review will help you have all your questions answered so you know if it is the right investment for you.

Beis Luggage Review: Carry-On Roller and Check-In Roller

Does Beis make quality luggage? Time to get to the nitty-gritty. I currently own two pieces of Beis Luggage: the carry-on roller and the 29″ check-in roller , both in Atlas Pink. These are both hard shell suitcases with wheels.

Size & Weight

I have found the Beis carry-on roller the perfect size for a carry-on if you are a heavy packer like me. I love to squeeze in as much as possible even in my carry-on bag and personal items! It is a larger and wider carry-on, so keep in mind it isn’t slim.

I have never had problems with the size of the carry-on with airlines. There was only one plane that the carry-on didn’t fit in the overhead bin vertically so I had to lay it horizontally.

The carry-on roller’s dimensions are W 15.7in x H 22.8in x D 9.8in and it weights 8.36 lbs. This is on the heavier side for a carry-on, but since the handles and finishes hold up so nicely, I never feel like it is weighty.

The check-in roller bag is huge and I love it. Again, it is a big bag, so if you prefer smaller suitcases, it probably isn’t the right option for you. But if you love a big bag with lots of space, it is perfect.

The 29″ check-in roller’s dimensions are W 16.5 in x H 29in x D 11in and it weighs 11.42lbs, which isn’t that bad for how spacious it is.

Fun fact: If you didn’t know already, although I am sure you do, Beis Travel is a brand created by actress Shay Mitchell, famous for Pretty Little Liars. I originally thought – here we go, another celebrity using their following to try and make more money with a brand that doesn’t live up to any of its hype. But you’ll see by the end what I really think!

Durability & Resistance

I am incredibly surprised by the durability and resistance of the bags. I have traveled multiple long-haul flights with fragile items inside (perfume bottles to be specific) and surely thought even with my best packing there was high risk of a mess on my hands when I landed.

However, I always find that the bags are super sturdy. I have not had any hardware issues (zippers breaking, handles coming loose, wheels coming loose) and I also have not had any damage to items inside.

One of the things I don’t love about the durability of the bags comes down to the exterior finish. I knew I would be risking it with a light-colored suitcase, but I didn’t think the scuffs would be so bad after every flight.

I always have to wash my suitcases if I don’t want scuffs to remain and, even after doing that, there are still some scuffs that are just too thick that I’ve got them there for the rest of my suitcase’s life.

Pro Tip : My secret to cleaning off scuffs is a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser pad . It literally works wonders and has saved me from walking around with my gorgeous pink suitcases covered in black scratches!

The quality of the Beis luggage that I love really comes from its construction, but the brand has thrown in some nice extras thought for travelers, which I also appreciate.

Both suitcases are expandable up to 2″ and come with TSA locks for extra protection. The handle is padded, which I am obsessed with: it is such a small yet luxurious ouch! The 360° wheels also make them super easy to navigate an airport with.

One of the cool things about the suitcases is the weight indicator on the side handle. The clear strip becomes red if the suitcase is overweight.

Now, it is a cool idea, but I have yet to see it work and I know I have overpacked my suitcase before! So this I would say is a bit of a disappointment.

On the front exterior of the suitcase there is also a retractable bag attach strap, which allows you to hang a bag up to 15 lbs on the suitcase without having to hold it. I don’t use this feature much, but it is a nice touch for travelers who want to go as hands-free as possible.

Packing/Accessories

I am a packing lover, which is why I gasped opening my Beis suitcases for the first time. The organization is real!

Both the carry-on roller and check-in roller have a zip-close panel on one side that has two external pockets, one with a more silky fabric and the other with a more plastic fabric for liquids. This zips shut to completely close off one side of the suitcase.

The other side of the suitcase has a detachable panel with buttons that is lined with a thin, huge mesh pocket on one side and a thin, huge regular pocket on the other. Over this panel, there are two thick straps you can buckle and tighten to secure extra stabilization of your belongings and prevent them from moving around.

The interior is also lined with a long side pocket below the bind of the suitcase.

These features, plus my trusted packing cubes and space-saving packing tips I live by, are a huge plus for me.

Something I did not expect but loved about my Beis suitcases was that they came with multiple travel organizers, including a dirty clothes bag, shoe bag, and general storage bag! I thought that was a great touch to sweeten the deal and feeling of value to the customer.

And, like the rest of the features, the accessories are real quality with thick drawstrings and made of a soft, almost silk-like fabric to be delicate on your items.

There is little for me to say here because I think it is obvious: I love the style of my Beis luggage.

The monochrome coloration makes them look so chic and high-end.

They are not too bulky but not too slim that you can’t fit anything.

The handle is super sturdy and well made. And the best part is that not only the exterior is aesthetically-pleasing – it carries on to the interior with the soft fabric lining, the delicate mesh, the sturdy button attachments and zippers.

This Beis luggage review gives style a 10 out of 10.

Beis luggage is, unfortunately, not a budget-friendly product. It is not as expensive as lots of other luxury suitcase brands, but that does not mean it is a product that fits in every traveler’s budget.

Here are the current prices of my two suitcases (2023):

• Carry-On Roller: $218
• Check-In Roller: $308

Something I cannot argue with about Beis luggage is that the quality really is there. If it wasn’t, I would absolutely tell you it is not worth the price tag. But, I think for what you get, it is.

This ins’t just some brand name, but rather, a well-thought out product that the market needed: a suitcase that was nicer-looking than ones in the classic shiny neon plastic or dust-friendly soft fabrics but not as luxury as the Rimowas or Louis Vuittons.

The good thing is, not being positioned in that exclusive, luxury market, the brand often offers sales during periods like Black Friday and coupon codes like when you sign up for emails!

Beis Large Work Tote Review

New to my collection, the Beis work tote is turning out to be one of my favorite bags for the same reasons as the luggage. The design is all about savvy, functional features without sacrificing style .

I opted for the large work tote, which is quite large at 16.75″W x 13.5″H x 7″D. I wanted it to be able to fit everything I would need for work – planner, water bottle, lunch, laptop, notebook, wallet, etc. – and it does!

The laptop sleeve generously fits my 14″ MacBook Pro. There is a detachable pouch for taking smaller things on the go and there are multiple pockets inside and outside of the bag.

For travel, I found this bag pretty convenient. I love that the back pocket unzips at the bottom to become a through-pass for your luggage handle, so you can rest the bag. It also fit under the flight seat, which I was worried about because I used it as a personal item! Just note that it does take up pretty much the entire under-seat area, so if you enjoy stretching your legs, you may not find it comfortable under the seat.

The zip-close top is ideal for preventing pickpocketing. Plus, there is a key ring on the inside to keep your keys together.

The only difficulty of this bag is because it is so big, it can get heavy if you really fill up all the space. Thankfully there is a bag strap to transform the tote style into a messenger bag, which helps to distribute the weight a little better!

Beis Cosmetic Case Review

My Beis Cosmetic Case is my shiny, new travel accessory! It is a hard exterior, rectangular case with a zip opening.

This case stood out to me for two reasons: the huge detachable mirror and the dedicated brushes pocket. I never had something small and functional to store my makeup brushes while traveling and this detachable piece is perfect in terms of space and protecting the brushes with a plastic overlay.

I am slightly worried that it can get dirtied very easily and am still unsure if the material will be easy to clean, so I will have to update you on this as I use it more.

It is one open container, so there are no dividers for organizing the makeup inside, but I do think this allows you to tote around more items.

Other Beis Travel Products

One of the things I really like about the Beis Travel brand is that they have really intelligently expanded their product line to cater to so many different travel needs and keeping alive the color families they have created.

I would love to own some of their other bags and accessories in Atlas Pink to complete a whole collection! Some of these include:

• The Weekender Bag – the item I have my eye on next. It is so hard to find duffle bags or weekender bags that are not only cute, but actually functional. Packing a duffle bag is not easy because of its bucket shape and style. I love how the Beis Weekender Bag has a lot of structure to it.

To wrap up this Beis luggage review, I have to be honest. I actually DO think that these suitcases are worth the money and I really do love them.

The only thing I don’t like about them is that they tend to scuff easily, but the quality from the handle to the wheel, the confidence the style gives me walking around the airport, the color that represents my personality, the packing features, the extra accessories – all these things make the Beis luggage worth it to me.

Next, I nipped over to a Beis Travel Bags review on a blog called Lakeshore Ladies . The author included the Weekender Bag and Beis Backpack in their 2020 review, The Best Weekender Bags with the Weekender placing #1 and the Backpack taking #4 .

The reviewer has already “used it on 3 trips” and loved the “bottom compartment” and “laptop sleeve.” And while she thinks it’s a great bag (clearly), she thought its only fault was it’s size. I’ll admit, it’s a pretty large bag, but I love how versatile it is and how much you can pack.

The blog Life In Wanderlust reviewed The Weekender, Work Totes, and Cosmetics Case . After trying the tote, the reviewer claimed:

“I was immediately impressed with the quality and the functionality, and suddenly I couldn’t wait to get my hands on other Beis products.” She went on to list that all the Beis products she tried had great features, thoughtful designs, and lived up to the hype .

After months of testing 21 pieces of Béis luggage and other accessories in both the Travel + Leisure lab and our real-world travels, we can confidently recommend these top 10 items for anyone looking to invest in Béis travel products. While we’re big fans of the brand's suitcases, we also love the weekender and duffel bags, cosmetic cases, and packing cubes for staying extra organized on the go.

It’s easy to pack thanks to all of the organizational features.

The handle can get stuck if the bag is dented a certain way. 

Both minimalist and maximalist packers alike will appreciate the simple and spacious design of the Béis Carry-on Roller. Whether packing for a weekend or week-long trip, the clamshell suitcase has a removable compression system with a mesh pocket on one side, while the other features two zippered pockets on the opening flap for storing undergarments or smaller pieces of clothing. The various pockets and separate compartments makes it intuitive and hassle-free to pack bulky and small items, and the suitcase isn’t so big that it’ll get too heavy to wheel or pick up.

After traveling with this bag over a six-month period, we love that it's remained incredibly durable. The wheels roll well on concrete, grass, and gravel and have held up well throughout our many travels. Other thoughtful features we love include the padded handle, expandable zippers , weight limit indicator, and retractable bag strap for attaching another suitcase or smaller bag. We recommend avoiding checking in this carry-on when possible since it scuffed and dented fairly easily during testing.

After six months of use, the lighter color does show some significant scuffing.

We’re big fans of the just-right size of the Béis 26-inch checked roller bag. It’s big enough to fit up to two weeks’ worth of clothing, but the medium size is better for maneuvering it on the go or storing it at home than even larger sizes. Throughout six months of testing, we loved the smooth wheels that make navigating through airports easy and seamless. The organizational features are similar to the brand’s carry-on suitcase, with a detachable compression flap and various zippered pockets for packing smaller items. If you need extra room for longer trips, the suitcase has expandable zippers that add an extra two inches of space. Worried about the weight of the suitcase? There is a helpful weight limit indicator on the side of the suitcase that will turn red when the bag is over 50 pounds so you’ll never run the risk of overweight baggage fees. During lab testing, the polycarbonate material scuffed and dented with rough handling, so if you want to avoid noticeable scratches, consider opting for one of the darker colors offered.

The bottom compartment offers even more space for items that you want to keep separate, like shoes.

It's difficult to fit under plane seats, so you'll have to place it in the overhead bin.

The Béis Weekender bag is one of the brand's best-selling items and we understand why after testing. It wowed us with a spacious interior that could fit more than enough for a weekend away, especially with the separate compartment on the bottom of the bag . The detachable compartment is perfect for bulky items like shoes and jackets, or you can remove it entirely to make the bag more compact. After using this weekender for six months, its durability has not changed, and we're calling this our "Mary Poppins bag" because it fits so many items.

Business travelers will appreciate that the bag comes with a vegan leather laptop case and designated laptop pocket to safely store technology while traveling. Similar to the Sport Duffel, this Béis bag comes with a removable strap so you can carry it as a tote or duffel bag for a convertible design. We also love that the weekender has a structured build to stand up on its own while packing it, and there are metal feet at the bottom to protect the bag from the floor (although we did notice the metal feet scratched a bit in testing).

The short, square shape is unique, compact, and surprisingly spacious.

There is a front laptop pocket, but it can’t hold anything larger than a 13-inch laptop.

We love when we get to test a unique suitcase shape, like this square mini roller. Though it looks compact, it’s actually pretty spacious, with a 41-liter capacity and a front pocket that can hold up to a 13-inch laptop or smaller devices like tablets. There are zippered dividers, waterproof pockets, and compression straps inside, and it comes with a removable laundry bag labeled “stink bag.”

Travel + Leisure / Jessica Juliao

The spinner wheels glided effortlessly through our obstacle course, and we think this would make a great option for kids or teens to carry as their own luggage, though it’s stylish enough for adults to use, too. “The double spinner wheels glided so well, and I was able to spin this bag more easily than a taller, standard-size carry-on,” says T+L associate editorial director Morgan Ashley Parker . “This is probably one of the best maneuvering bags I’ve ever spun, and it takes no effort to lift it as it’s small.”

It becomes heavy quickly since the bag itself weighs over 3 pounds.

This high-quality duffel is durable, comfortable to carry, and features more pockets than you'll know what to do with. It was made with so much obvious attention to detail that's perfect for any traveler from weekend adventurers to business travelers . The duffel is a lot more spacious than it first appears as it easily fit our four-day packing list thanks to the many compartments (six on the inside and four on the outside of the bag). Throughout our tests, we noticed that every pocket is multifunctional and purposeful — the side of the bag even features a pocket with a zippered bottom that you can open to double as a luggage sleeve. The duffel is also comfortable to carry and all of the zippers glide easily, making this one of our absolute favorite personal items, weekender bags, overnight bag, and more.

It has a modular design so you can carry it as a tote, duffel, or backpack.

We think the straps could be more size-inclusive. 

Versatility in a piece of luggage is important, so we love that the sport duffel has a convertible design to carry it in multiple ways. It has handles to carry it as a tote, and it comes with a removable crossbody strap to toss it over the shoulder like a traditional duffel. We love the discrete backpack straps that you can tuck away in a pocket on the bottom of the duffel to fully hide them when not in use. No matter which way we carried the duffel, it was comfortable and convenient with the weight distributed across all the straps. The only downside we ran into is the crossbody strap doesn’t adjust to a long length to accommodate all body types. Still, after six months of using this bag multiple times a week, we found this to be one of the most convenient, innovative, and intuitive bags we tested — and it still looks brand new. While the bag appears to be small, it can fit enough clothes for a weekend getaway and it has impressive organizational features for packing various items. It also comes with a drawstring bag for dirty clothes, which is a thoughtful feature for travelers and gym-goers alike.

Best Dopp Kit

Like Béis’ famous weekender, this Dopp kit has a separate compartment on the bottom of the bag.

This large Dopp kit may take up a lot of space in your bag.

We can’t recommend this Dopp kit enough as a spacious bag with two compartments to store your toiletries , which is so useful if you want to keep certain items separated, like your toothbrush, razor, or makeup brushes. It fits so many travel essentials — we used it to hold makeup, perfume, five makeup brushes, lotions, toothpaste, face wash, deodorant, and hair products, with even more room to spare and pockets inside for organization. Though it is spacious, it’s on the larger size and may be bulky in your bag because you can’t squish it flat. It’s similar in design to Béis’ popular weekender bag with the bottom section, though you have to completely tip over the top half to access the bottom. We especially loved that the bottom compartment is water-resistant in case you need to clean up any spills or loose powders.

A few more organizational features would be helpful for bottles or other fragile makeup. 

A reliable makeup case is a must-have for traveling, especially since beauty products can be costly and difficult to replace. We loved Béis' cosmetic case thanks to its sleek and structured design that safeguards toiletries whether packed in a carry-on or checked bag . It has room to fit all of the makeup essentials, including foundation bottles, eyeshadow palettes, mascara, and toiletries like mini shampoo and toothpaste. Arguably, the best part of this case is that it comes with a removable standing travel mirror to turn any small space into a vanity — however, those serious about their makeup application might also want to pack a lighted travel makeup mirror as well.

We love the removable brush holder with straps and a clear plastic window to hold down makeup brushes and protect the bristles from bending. While no makeup got damaged during testing, we think there could be a few more straps or dividers in the spacious main compartment to tie down bottles or palettes more securely. However, if there is some spillage while traveling, the interior is lined with a fully wipeable fabric for hassle-free clean-up.

It’s easy to see what is packed inside each cube since the opening flaps are made with mesh and have label holders. 

The cubes are better for organization than saving space. 

This packing cube set is the ultimate solution to staying organized while traveling since it comes with three cubes, two drawstring bags, and one zippered pouch. The small, medium, and large packing cubes make it a breeze to pack various pieces of clothing like jackets, pants, tops, and undergarments, and the range of cube sizes is helpful for mixing and matching depending on the suitcase size you’re using. Plus, the packing cubes have mesh opening flaps and label holders so you can seamlessly access the item you’re looking for without making a mess. And once your clothes are no longer clean, the zippered pouch makes an excellent dirty laundry hamper. To further separate clean items from dirty ones, you can also use the two drawstring pouches to keep shoes separated. If you’re looking to save space in a suitcase, you may want to opt for compression packing cubes , and we've tested and loved Béis' compression cubes as well, though they're often out of stock.

We wish the zipper opened up all the way for easier packing. 

This backpack is a game-changer for avoiding extra baggage fees if you buy too many souvenirs while traveling. With the ability to add an extra 2 inches in depth, the expandable gusset provides enough space to pack enough clothes for an overnight trip or short weekend getaway. However, if you’re looking to use the backpack as a personal item for flying , the backpack offers pockets for every carry-on essential you could ever need. It has a designated padded laptop pocket to store both 13- and 15-inch laptops that you can conveniently access from the separate pocket in the back. After carrying the backpack in an airport for several hours, we didn’t notice any pain or discomfort thanks to the adjustable padded straps and back panel that balance the weight for all-day comfort. And after six months of regular use, the bag still looks good as new.

We’ve tried nearly everything from Béis, but not everything could make our list of winners due to slight issues revealed in testing. 

Béis The Jewelry Case : The structured design is protective, but the button closure isn’t very secure, so it came undone and the jewelry fell out when we dropped it on the floor.

Béis The Convertible Weekender : We’re big fans of the separate bottom compartment that you can completely remove, but tricky zippers make it hard to get it back onto the bag. We prefer the regular Weekender above.

Béis The Backpack : This backpack lacked padding for protection and comfort, but we like the simplicity of the design and useful pockets for laptops, chargers, and wallets. 

Béis The Small Carry-on Roller : One of Béis’ newest launches, this is a smaller version of our favorite carry-on above in our main list. We loved the portable size and the ample organizational features inside, but the wheels didn’t glide so smoothly during testing, and every turn felt like it took more effort than it should.

Our T+L editors have tested hundreds of pieces of luggage and to try every item efficiently, we divide up the tests by category to evaluate in our labs and while traveling out in the world. We tested a total of 21 Béis travel products, including suitcases, backpacks, weekenders, and accessories like jewelry cases , packing cubes, toiletry kits, and sling bags.

To test suitcases, we first start in our lab utilizing our specially-designed airplane set complete with row of passenger seats and overhead storage bins to analyze the capacity, design, and maneuverability of each piece of luggage. We roll the suitcases through obstacle courses to see how well the wheels move and test the durability by taking a baseball bat to each bag and throwing it off a counter. Similarly for backpacks and weekenders, we pack the bags full of travel essentials to get a feel for the capacity, design, and portability. For bags that aren’t suitcases, we pay close attention to comfort and portability since those are two very important factors in buying a travel bag that gets schlepped around.

For accessories like jewelry cases, cosmetic bags, and packing cubes, we pack them with relevant travel items and test durability by dropping, tossing, and throwing the items (but to the dismay of our editors, no baseball bats are involved). All of the products we test in the lab are sent out for up to six months of further testing in real-world conditions. 

Tips for Buying Béis Travel Products

Know how much space you need.

While it depends on the product, Béis has luggage and accessories in all types of sizes to fit the needs of all travelers. When it comes to luggage, most of the carry-ons and checked bags have expandable zippers so you can add 2 inches of space when desired, but there are also more compact sizes if you're looking for something more portable for short trips.

The weekender bag is massive, so if you’re looking for something more compact, opt for the mini or convertible weekend or the duffel bags. The accessories are pretty straightforward with sizing since there is only one of each, except for the hanging cosmetic case, which is a bit bigger than the regular cosmetic bag, and the cosmetic bag set, which are the smallest sizes offered for storage pouches.

Evaluate organizational features

Throwing everything in one large bag or suitcase tends to result in, well, an organizational disaster once you get to your hotel room and need to find something. Instead look for organizational features that’ll best suit your needs. It functions like a mini carry-on suitcase you can wear on your back.

I appreciate that there are extra design elements that you don't typically find on backpacks, like two water bottle pockets instead of one — an essential feature as a mom with two kids — and even a trolley sleeve, so I can slip my suitcase handle through it to give my back a rest while traveling. I also love the backpack's minimalist aesthetic. It's monochromatic with subtle branding and has just a touch of faux leather on the water bottle sleeves and along the base. It's utilitarian but luxe and is the perfect gender neutral bag, so my husband and I can share it.

Yes, we do offer international pre-order. Please note items may vary. However, at this time it will not be available for pre-order on our mobile app.

DO I HAVE TO BE ON THE WAITLIST TO ORDER IT NOW?

No, pre-order is available for everyone regardless of whether or not you joined the waitlist!  The waitlist was created to help us gauge demand and ensure we could offer pre-order.

Yes, unless you placed an order with payment details and received a confirmation, your order has not been placed.

ARE YOUR BAGS WATER RESISTANT? WHAT IS PET LINING?

Most BÉIS bags are lined with a water-resistant lining that helps protect your belongings from liquid.

HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR MY BÉIS PRODUCT?

We recommend that you protect any light-colored product with a fabric and faux leather protector before use.

Light spot cleaning with a clean damp cloth is suggested.

WHAT IF MY BÉIS PRODUCT IS DAMAGED UPON RECEIPT?

Product that is received with damage can be returned for a full refund or exchange

Will the red color transfer onto my clothes?

We tested these bags rigorously and saw no transfer, but please note that slight color migration is possible.

How do i earn points.

Every time you make a purchase on our site or app you will earn at least 1 point per $1 spent. Please visit our Rewards page to view other ways to earn points.

Can I Redeem My Points on the BÉIS app?

Customers can redeem their vouchers on the app and still earn points for all in-app purchases. However, you cannot redeem points for products on the app at this moment in time. Please use beistravel.com for any product reward redemptions.

When will I see points on my account after placing an order?

Points will be credited to your account after a 7-day pending period once you place your order.

How can I check my points balance?

You can check your points balance by logging into your account on our website and visiting our rewards page.

Do points expire?

Yes, they expire after 6 months of inactivity.  What does "inactivity" mean? In this context, inactivity refers to customers who have not earned or redeemed any points through completing a purchase within the selected time frame.

Customers who exceed 6 months without earning or redeeming points through completing a purchase will lose their accrued point balance.

Does my tier status expire?

Yes, customers keep their tier status for a minimum of 12 months and have 12 months to either maintain or upgrade their status.

Can I redeem all my points at once?

No, we offer $10, $20, $30 and $40 discount redemptions based on your tier status. We also give customers the option to redeem their points for products with purchase.

Do I need to make a minimum purchase to use my points?

Yes, there is a minimum spend required based off your voucher amount. The minimum is the price before taxes and shipping. 

• $10 voucher minimum spend is $20 
• $20 voucher minimum spend is $30 
• $30 voucher minimum spend is $40 
• $40 voucher minimum spend is $50 

I received a referral from my friend. Do I need to spend a minimum amount to redeem by $20 off?

Yes, you must have at least $100 worth of items in your cart in order for the discount to be applied and for the advocate to receive 200 points. 

When will I receive points after referring a friend?

You will receive points from referring a friend after our 7 day approval period once they complete their purchase. These codes can be used by new customers only .

When will I receive birthday Points?

After completing "add your birthday" you will receive your points after a 45 day pending period. If you entered a birthdate that has already passed, you will receive points the following year.

I no longer want to use my voucher. How do I get my points back? 

Please email [email protected] with your voucher code so we can return your points back.

I exchanged my order and now I see zero points for the original purchase. How do I get my points back? 

At this time, our system registers any exchange as a return. Please email [email protected] with your order number or exchange order number so we can credit you back.

How do I redeem a free product with my points? 

Using your points for free product are only redeemable with purchase. You must be on our site to do this – our app only allows vouchers to be redeemed at this moment in time. 

You must spend a minimum of $20 (before taxes and shipping) in order to redeem any points for discounts or redeem points for products. 

To proceed, please follow the below steps: 

1. Make sure you are logged into your rewards account. 

2. Add the item you want to purchase in your cart. 

3. Go to your rewards page and select the item you want to redeem for points. 

4. The redeemed rewards item should appear in your cart. 

5. Checkout as you normally would.
