Location Map

This is a part of Australia that offers more. A landscape that’s framed by an iconic river and lake to the south, broad open plains and a lake to the north, big skies above and rich red earth below. With our diverse geography, we offer a diversity of experience – from great food to the great outdoors, from world-class golf to watersport adventures – and all bound together with a proud heritage. It was in the town of Corowa that federation was born – of great things coming together – and that sums us up today. A place of diversity and choice.

Here, there’s more to see, more to taste, more to do, more to experience.

This is where you can drive right up to the water’s edge, set up camp or cast a line without a care. Everything is open, and everything is easy.

Away from the pace of modern life, this is where you can spend more quality time. Back to nature. Back to what matters. Back to simple pleasures.

Because at the end of the day, sometimes less is more, and we’re about that too.

This is where there’s more to discover. This is where there’s more to life.

Corowa has many great local Attractions from Gallery 294, Corowa Distilling CO and Savernake Ecoheritage Tours.

Max’s Motor Museum is located in the Industrial Estate and has many cars on display including vintage Fords, Morris’ and a fully working free standing V12 engine. This privately owned collection is on display to the public, just give them a call and they will be there to welcome you inside, bring the grandkids down and show them what cars were like when you were their age.

A classic Art Deco house is the perfect venue for Gallery 294 featuring a wide range of Arts and Crafts of a very high standard. The Gallery has a continually changing exhibition and sale of the works of the talented artists and craftspeople of Corowa and the surrounding region. Gallery 294 conducts workshops run by members of the co-operative or specialist craftspeople.

Redlands Hill Reserve , located near Corowa NSW , represents a Grey Box Grassy Woodlands, which is considered an Endangered Ecological Community ( EEC ). The reserve boasts four walking trails, developed in 1997 by the joint efforts of Corowa District Landcare and the former Corowa Shire. All the tracks are rated easy, with no bushwalking experience required, with the shortest track being 0.7 kilometres and the longest being 1.7 kilometres. Signs are up to give visitors insights into the reserve’s environment, plants and animals.

The reserve also hosts information on prominent artists, Tommy McRae and Tom Roberts. Tommy McRae (1835-1901) was an Aboriginal stockman based on nearby Brocklesby Station, and Tom Roberts painted the famous ‘Shearing the Rams’ painting in a shearing shed on Brocklesby Station in 1890. A replica of the shearing shed, which burned down in the 60’s, is located in the reserve.

Listed as one of the top 10 up and coming whisky distillery’s in the world in 2017 and named a ‘whisky brand’ of the future by ‘the spirit business’, Corowa Distilling Co in a historic and alluring 1920’s flour mill repurposed to be more than just another tourist attraction.

This Park Was Just Named the No. 1 Tourist Attraction in the U.S.

New York City is home to the top tourist attraction in the country, along with 6 other winners.

Evie Carrick is a writer and editor who’s lived in five countries and visited well over 50. She now splits her time between Colorado and Paris, ensuring she doesn't have to live without skiing or L'As du Fallafel.

As Americans, we dream of summers on the French Riviera and spring in Japan, but travelers around the world aspire to visit the U.S. — so much so that the U.S. was named the top country for tourism in 2024 by the World Economic Forum .

Travelers come from all over the world to see the New York City skyline, peer into the Grand Canyon , and explore the Everglades, but there are certain sites that visitors have deemed a “must-see.” To determine which site is the top tourist attraction in the U.S ., the retreat booking site BookRetreats.com analyzed 77 of the most popular points of interest across the nation, evaluating each on factors like place popularity, overall experience (according to over 7,500 visitor reviews), and hotel costs.

At the top of the list was a site that’s both natural and urban: Central Park in New York City .

The 843-acre park received a score of 4.075 out of a possible 5 points in the rating, making it the top tourist attraction in the U.S. The New York City park stood out for its popularity, maintaining a 4.8 rating on Google and garnering over 270,000 reviews. In addition, 91 percent of recent visitors raved about its beauty and abundance of free activities. (We’re guessing it doesn’t hurt that the park has its own castle and zoo.)

In addition to housing the top tourist attraction in the U.S., six other New York City sites made it onto the list, making the city an easy choice for travelers who only have time to go to one place. Interestingly, iconic spots like the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty were surpassed by natural sites like The High Line and Brooklyn Bridge Park.

Following Central Park in the ranking were two more urban parks: Washington, D.C.’s long, grassy National Mall came in at No. 2, while Balboa Park in San Diego was ranked No. 3.

The trend toward nature-driven tourist attractions continues throughout the ranking, with natural sites making up 50 percent of the study’s best places to go.

Here's the full list:

  • Central Park — New York City
  • National Mall — Washington, D.C.
  • Balboa Park — San Diego
  • Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History — Washington, D.C.
  • Times Square — New York City

The body of a missing boater was recovered from Grand Canyon National Park on Tuesday, the 16th fatality at the popular tourist destination so far this year.

The latest death involved what the park says appears to be the missing 71-year-old man who was on a private boat trip when others noticed he had disappeared without his hat and water bottle, park spokeswoman Joelle Baird said.

The group reached the park’s communications center late on Monday and reported his disappearance from around Lower Nankoweap Camp, about 53 miles (85 kilometers) from where the trip launched.

Park rangers used a helicopter on Tuesday to locate the body about 10 miles (16 kilometers) downstream. The person’s name and hometown weren’t immediately released.

The National Park Service and the Coconino County medical examiner’s office are investigating the death. They’re also looking into the death of a 59-year-old Colorado man who was discovered dead while on a rafting trip on the Colorado River over the weekend.

On average, the park reports 10-15 deaths per year, Baird said. Among the causes of death this year are drownings, falls, natural causes and a heart attack. Some causes haven’t been determined yet, she said.

Last month, a 20-year-old North Carolina man fell off the edge of the South Rim in the park. The following day, a 43-year-old Missouri man died while attempting to BASE jump from Yavapai Point.

That same month, the body of a 20-year-old New Mexico woman was found below Twin Overlooks and a 33-year-old woman from the Phoenix suburb of Gilbert, Arizona, died after being swept away in the Colorado River while on a hiking trip in an adjacent canyon.

An 80-year-old man on a commercial river trip died after falling from a boat near Fossil Rapid, and a 60-year-old North Carolina man on a solo backpacking trip was found dead near a remote trail along the Colorado River.
