SUPERCHARGED- OUT OCTOBER 11

Going full speed into summer, The Offspring have released another killer track off of their highly anticipated new album SUPERCHARGED, out October 11 via Concord Records, aptly named Light It Up.

The song follows their first release off of the album Make It All Right which is currently Top 10 on the Billboard Alternative and Mainstream Rock Charts and climbing. Last week the band released the animated music video for the track

unnamed.jpg

“We wanted this record to have pure energy - from the start to the finish! That’s why we called it SUPERCHARGED. From the height of our aspirations to the depths of our struggles, we talk about it all on this record…in a way that celebrates the life that we share and where we are now. Our single “Make It All Right” is a great example of this because it talks about the people in our lives who make us feel strong when we are feeling low – our partners in crime who make us feel all right.    Dexter Holland

When The Offspring and Sum 41 announced their massive Australian tour in early 2020, tickets flew like hot cakes. Every show around the country sold out instantly within two hours of going on sale, and when the pandemic shut down in March 2020, many ticketholders were left brokenhearted.

Thanks to the legends at Destroy All Lines, The Offspring are preparing to hit accelerate on their return to Australia. The 90s punk rock icons have confirmed they’ll be hitting all major Australian cities this December to play all their hits over the year plus songs from their brand new record, Let the Bad Times Roll in order to redeem their promise from 2020, with new shows added in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne due to the insane popularity of this tour. Noodles shares his excitement on this highly anticipated announcement:

“I’m super stoked, we’re all super stoked to finally be coming back to Australia on tour in December.”

The Offspring announce Australian tour with Sum 41

Update (19/03/2020) : The Offspring and Sum 41 have announced that this tour will be rescheduled due to the current global health crisis with COVID-19. You can find a detailed statement here .

Australian shores are set to play host to a punk rock onslaught, the likes of which are rarely seen in our corner of the globe with the genre-defining The Offspring announcing a run of headline dates, bringing with them the equally as genre-defining Sum 41.

It’s been quite a gap between drinks for Australian fans of The Offspring. The below tour dates mark the first of their kind from the group in 16 years. The habitual trouble makers kept their Australian love affair alive with the odd festival slot including performances at Warped Tour Australia in 2013 and again at the inaugural 2018 Good Things festival. However, the last time they were in town in a headline capacity was off the back of their 2003 record, Splinter . They’ve since released Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace and Days Go By so, naturally, we have a lot to catch up on.

An incredibly rare Sum 41 has also been spotted on the line up, yet another group that will be returning to their Australian fans for the first time in a while not associated with a festival. The band took to the stages of Download Festival past, taking the time to perform an incredibly sweaty club show at Sydney’s the Bald Faced Stag, damn near bringing down the house. It’s safe to say both rapid-paced performances whet fans’ appetites for a more Sum-centric set. Now we’re salivating for one, goddammit. Salivating.

This will be the perfect opportunity for the band to introduce their Australian legion of fans to their latest record, 2019’s Order In Decline.

The Offspring Australian Tour With Very Special Guests Sum 41 Tickets available Monday 3 February, 9am local time .

Formed in Garden Grove, California, The Offspring became hugely popular during their glory days of the '90s, with their anthemic, metal-tinged punk that helped reignite interest in the genre for a new generation.

Featuring Dexter Holland (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman (lead guitar), Greg K (bass) and Pete Parada (drums), the beginnings of the band started in 1984, coming together under the moniker, Manic Subsidal. In 1986, they changed their name to The Offspring, A string of independent releases followed, with the band slowly gaining a footing in the West Coast punk scene.

Their self-titled debut appeared in 1989 to moderate success. Yet with their second record, "Ignition," The Offspring became underground favorites, finding fans of their relentless, power chord-driven punk. By 1994, fortunes were abut to change dramatically for The Offspring, with the release of their third album, "Smash." Despite being released on an independent label, "Smash" became a hit of the same name, propelling the band to stardom overnight, selling over four million records. Taking their cues from Nirvana and their quiet/loud dynamics, The Offspring found a string of singles make their way to chart success, with "Self-Esteem" and "Come Out And Play" gaining significant airplay.

Despite major labels knocking at the door, The Offspring decided to stay at the small independent, Epitaph, touring extensively thereafter across the US. After two years, the band caved and decided to join major label Columbia Records, a move that caused controversy amongst punk fans, garnering accusations of selling out. Regardless, their third album, "Ixnay on the Hombre," arrived in February 1997, a record that whilst maintaining positive critical acclaim, it failed to reach the same heights of success as "Smash."

In 1998, "Americana" attempted to regain the band's momentum, finding a hit with the pop-punk single, "Pretty Fly (for a white guy)," returning the quartet to mainstream success. "Conspiracy of One" was to be their next release, a record they threatened to offer as a free download online but their record company denied them this desire, with the record receiving a conventional release in 2000.

Three years later, The Offspring had recorded a new album of material, with "Splinter" offering a return to form. Subsequently, they embarked on international tours during which they found legions of fans across several continents. In 2005, a Greatest Hits was released, featuring new music in the single, "Can't Repeat." Their relentless touring schedule may have set new music releases back, but in 2008, they returned with "Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace," displaying a hotly anticipated return to form. Still hard at work over twenty years into their career, "Days Go By" was released in 2012 displaying a more mature sound for their fans.

Live reviews

The Offspring are a pop-punk band best known for a string of hits in the 90’s that you probably heard in at least one movie soundtrack or TV show, such as “Why Don’t You Get a Job?” and “Pretty Fly for a White Guy”.

They are known for their humorous, sardonic songs and their commercial success, as they are one of the most successful pop-punk bands of all time. They might not have the credibility of more underground punk bands, but their live show is undeniably a fun and energetic experience for even the most jaded punk fan.

They tend to draw a younger crowd, consisting of a good mix of people in their 20’s and 30’s nostalgic for the good old days of the 90’s, as well as younger people who are just discovering the band. The band has been around for quite some time, especially in a genre where bands sometimes only last a year or two, so they demonstrate a streamlined, workman-like approach that can only come with many years of practice and dedication, but they also never lose touch with their somewhat juvenile sense of humor.

There is a large amount of audience interaction, even when the band is playing larger festivals, with lots of stage-diving, singing along, etc. Anyone who grew up in the 90’s or is a fan of 90’s culture should see The Offspring, if only for the nostalgia.

Absolutely amazing venue! We brought our 2 daughters (16 & 13) for their first concert. We got there early and were 6 people from the front!

Security got rid of the drunk asshole within the 1st 30 minutes of the opening act... he snuck back in and they got him again! - It was crowded and pot smoke filled the air but the vibe was chill.... Until Offspring came on stage - within 10 seconds of the 1st song a mosh pit formed - a 6'4" 275lb guy decided to get in my face and my girls started freaking out... I guess I am the mama bear type cuz I shoved right back. Protecting the girls from the pit I kept pushing.. I fell into the pit and was pulled out instantly and we rushed through the crowd to get away from the pit- both daughters crying now...Security here is amazing - they saw my girls crying and brought them waters and let them sit.. We got them calmed and enjoyed the rest of the show!

Offspring was fantastic and Sublime w/Rome phenomenal!! - Plus 1st time I ever heard the Menzingers, and they are great!!!

Pop-punk band The Offspring are known well for their satirical and tongue in cheek approach to music. They have been performing as a band since the mid-80's and really know how to work their crowd. A technically able live band, the fun aspect of their show comes out when performing early material such as 'Self Esteem' and 'Come Out and Play'.

A great festival act, they really know how to interact with their audience and the sheer sound of the music along with the crowd's cheers can draw revellers from around the site to their stage. The band are beginning to show their age yet when classic songs such as 'All I Want' begin they play like a group thirty years their junior.

Supported by a mammoth crowd who clap, cheer and fist pump at all the right moments. The atmosphere is electric throughout as the band play a career spanning set of cult hits, the finale of 'Pretty Fly (For A White Guy)' and 'The Kids Aren't Alright' receives mammoth applause and cheers and cements the group's reputation as cult icons.

The show was canceled due to protests for better living conditions in the country! Throughout the week, thousands of Chileans took to the streets to protest for improvements in health, education, transportation. Revolted by government corruption and tired of being exploited by the system.

Because of this situation, the offspring show had to be canceled

Was an amazing concert. I just wish they would've played the song I went there for. I was hoping for GONE AWAY. I lost my father a year ago and had a connection with this song. Guess I'll have to wait for five finger death punch to return to hear that song live.

Terrible. I been in shoreline multiple times and for the first time the sound was terrible.

All the speakers from the laws where off. i already have tickets for others concerts there and I'm thinking of selling them if they don't fix the sound soon.

This was my first Offspring show. It was great. I wish they would have played longer. I did have a really good time. A friend and I drove from Minneapolis to Souix Falls S.D. to see them. They do not seem to come to Minneapolis/St Paul much.

Sick show! The sound was good though the Luna park doesn't have a good acoustic. To me The Offspring is a up lifting band! So I spend the whole concert in to moshpit! So it was pretty enjoyable!

P.D: Noodles is such a cool dude!

*UPDATE: Punk-pop legends The Offspring and Sum 41 are heading our way for one heck of a punk rock party. It’s just a little later than first announced. With tour dates originally locked in for this April, promoters have announced the power duo will now be visiting us in 2021. Official tour dates are still to be announced, but we’ll keep you updated when we know more.

And the best part is, we don’t even have to wait that long.

It’s been a little while since The Offspring played a headline show on Australian soil. Last on our shores for Good Things Festival in 2018, they also headlined the one-off return of Vans Warped Tour Down Under back in 2013.

Since bursting onto the scene with their self-titled debut album back in 1989, they’ve spent the last three decades defining – and ruling – the punk-pop genre. You can’t think of The Offspring without thinking of their anthemic, crassly humorous tunes, and across nine albums they haven’t turned down the dial for a single decade.

How do they even go about selecting a setlist? We aren’t sure, but we’ll leave the hard work to the professionals. Just know that when they get to Australia you can expect them to blast through a set featuring their best-known bangers like ‘Self Esteem’, ‘Pretty Fly For A White Guy’, ‘Come Out And Play (Keep ‘Em Separated)’,’ The Kids Aren’t Alright’, ‘Original Prankster’, ‘You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid’, and a stack more.

The Offspring - The Kids Aren't Alright (Official Music Video)

Joining The Offspring is Sum 41, who have also kept their recent Australian visits to the festival calendar. The band took to stages around the country for last year’s Download Festival (and a very sweaty club show at Sydney’s The Bald Faced Stag) and before that, it was Soundwave Festival in 2013 that saw them on our side of the world.

If the singalongs we’ve already chatted about weren’t enough to get you over the line, throw in throwback tunes like ‘Fat Lip’ and ‘In Too Deep’ as well as some choice cuts from their latest album  Order In Decline and, well, we’re in for one heck of a night.

Sum 41 - In Too Deep (Official Music Video)

See you in the pit, yeah?

The Offspring and Sum 41 Tour Dates:

  • Sunday 19 April – HBF Stadium, Perth
  • Saturday 25 April – Riverstage Brisbane

The Offspring and Sum 41 will head to Australia in 2021. We’ll keep you updated via  Ticketmaster.com.au.

The Offspring Announce Let The Bad Times Roll 2023 Tour

Facebook icon

Special Guests Simple Plan and Sum 41 Join Across All dates

Tickets available starting tuesday, march 21 with citi presales, general onsale begins friday, march 24 at 10am local on livenation.com.

Today, The Offspring have announced their 2023 run – Let The Bad Times Roll Tour – with special guests Sum 41 and Simple Plan. Produced by Live Nation, the 24-city tour kicks off on August 1 at White River Amphitheatre in Auburn, WA making stops across the U.S. in Irvine, Phoenix, Atlanta, Tampa, St. Louis and more before wrapping up in Mansfield, MA at Xfinity Center on September 3

“One of the best things about being on tour is traveling the world playing to great audiences, and it’s even better when you can do it with your friends – we had sold out International tours with Simple Plan and Sum 41, and we’re excited that they’ll be joining us this Summer in America. It’s going to be great!” said Dexter Holland of The Offspring

“We couldn’t be more excited to get back on tour all across the US with our friends The Offspring and Sum 41! We had such a blast touring with both of them last year that we just had to do it again and put together what we feel will be one of the most awesome tours of the summer. There’s nothing like going to see a show outside on a perfect summer night, and we hope our fans will join us and enjoy this really special show. See you there!” said Chuck Comeau of Simple Plan.

“We’re so excited to be back touring the States with The Offspring and Simple Plan this summer!” said Deryck Whibley of Sum 41. “There’s nothing better than hitting the road with your friends, and we can’t wait to bring the tour to you – see you soon!”

Frequently regarded as one of the best rock bands of all time, The Offspring have garnered a reputation for their unmistakable sound and social comment. The multi-platinum band first achieved worldwide success in the 90’s with the release of their album Smash, which sold over 11 million copies. Following Smash, they continued to release hit after hit, popularizing rock at a mainstream level. The group is also currently working on new music.

Throughout their career, they’ve sold over a staggering 40 million albums, and toured arenas, and built a global fan base. Let the Bad Times Roll marks the band’s tenth studio album and third album produced by the legendary Bob Rock. True to the irreverence at the core of their rock music, the band and lyricist Dexter Holland took a view to today’s cultural moments and didn’t shy away from creating topical material in this album.

ABOUT OFFSPRING

The Offspring is an American rock band from Garden Grove, California, formed in 1984. Originally formed under the name Manic Subsidal, the band’s lineup consists of lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Bryan “Dexter” Holland, bassist Todd Morse and lead guitarist Kevin “Noodles” Wasserman. Over the course of their 38-year career, they have released ten studio albums. The Offspring is often credited—alongside fellow California bands Green Day and Rancid—for reviving mainstream interest in rock in the 1990s. They have sold over 40 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling rock bands in history.

ABOUT SIMPLE PLAN

From their new millennium rise to MTV superstardom through pop-punk’s modern resurgence, SIMPLE PLAN have been an indelible part of pop culture since forming in Montreal in 1999. They’ve sold 10 million albums worldwide, won multiple Juno Awards, performed at the 2010 Winter Olympics – and, most recently, launched the omnipresent #ImJustAKid TikTok challenge that’s spawned more than 3.4 million videos, including clips from Hilary Duff, Ed Sheeran, Usher and Venus and Serena Williams. But most importantly, they’ve never lost connection with what really matters: their audience.

That ambition is fully on display on the band’s sixth studio album, HARDER THAN IT LOOKS. The first self-released album from Comeau, vocalist Pierre Bouvier and guitarists Sébastien Lefebvre and Jeff Stinco, the album respects Simple Plan’s storied career while pushing forward in new ways, with songs like “The Antidote,” “Ruin My Life” (ft. Deryck Whibley),“Congratulations,” “Wake Me Up (When This Nightmare’s Over)” and “Iconic” set to stand as fan favorites for years to come.

ABOUT SUM 41

Looking back at the band’s storied 27-year career with over 15 million records sold worldwide, multiple Billboard Charting releases, a Grammy Award nomination, 2 Juno Awards (7 nominations), a Kerrang! Award in 2002, and multiple Alternative Press Music Awards , Sum 41 is still at the top of their game. Vocalist Deryck Whibley shas hared that the band’s new double album, titled Heaven and Hell , is shaping up to be the most ambitious of their career – half of the album brings Sum 41 back to their pop punk roots, Heaven , and half of the album is strictly metal, Hell .
