Luke Bryan's Farm Tour kicks off in Central PA, bringing a boost for local farms

Bow Creek Farm in Grantville will be the first tour date of the 2024 Farm Tour.(LukeBryan.com)

Luke Bryan is coming to Central PA on Thursday as part of his Farm Tour.

Bow Creek Farm in Grantville will be the first tour date of the 2024 Farm Tour.

Owner of Bow Creek Farm, Rob Hess said they were first asked about being a venue site for the tour back in May. Hess said they closed in on Bow Creek Farm in July, leaving only a couple months to get ready for thousands to come to his property.

He said it’s been a hectic couple of weeks leading up to the show.

“It’s been a lot more significant work than I anticipated. Just a lot of planning with entrances into the farm, and fencing, and working with police, EMT, emergency management about plans the day of and things like that,” Hess said.

Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) are the overall command for the concert security and safety. PSP will also be monitoring and controlling the flow of traffic around the venue.

According to Hess, Luke Bryan’s tour team has been so helpful.

He also said the exposure for the farm because of the tour has been great.

“We’ve definitely had an increase in sales. I can’t put a number to it, but like last Saturday, we had at least 4 to 5 customers at our farm that had never been there before,” Hess said.

Hess said the day the concert was announced, their Facebook page grew by 20 percent.

However, it’s not only Bow Creek Farm that will benefit from the Farm Tour. A large part of the proceeds will go towards agricultural scholarships, something Hess said is extremely important for the growth of the industry.

“I think it’s important to explain to young people that you don’t have to be on a farm to work as a food scientist, veterinarian, a plant geneticist. There’s a lot of jobs in agriculture that are not necessarily farming,” Hess said.

According to Hess, the concert stage will be set up Wednesday night and broken down by Friday morning.

Tickets are still on sale.

The address for the concert on Thursday night is 769 Ridge Road, Grantville PA.

What an amazing experience with Rich. He’s embedded in the Amish culture and very well connected which made the tour very authentic. Initially, we were concerned that three hours was a bit too long but it flew by in no time and we got to see and experience a bunch of different places and people.
