Located on the North Somerset Coast, Weston-super-Mare doesn't do Great British seaside tradition by halves. In this coastal town you'll find the usual seaside trimmings and then some; from fish n' chips and buckets n' spades to live music, donkey rides, arcades and the landmark Grand Pier, which is now a Grade II Listed monument which celebrated its 100 year anniversary in 2004.

Whatever you've heard about Weston-super-Mare it's true. The resort has a stunning coastline and wondrous countryside crying out to be explored. Weston-super-Mare is also a perfect stopover should you wish to visit Cheddar, Glastonbury, Wells, Bath, Mendip and QuantockHills as they are all within easy reach of each other. Enjoy the views of Weston Bay from the top of the 40 metre Wheel of Weston or have a go at the many available watersports to be found. This traditional resort has a wide variety of entertainment too so go catch a show in the Winter Gardens, visit the SeaQuarium or check out the world's largest museum dedicated to Helicopters!

There have been quite a few changes to the seafront and promenade with the major refurbishment of the Grand Pier which was unfortunately damaged by fire in 2008 . The renovated Grand Pier is now open all year round providing state-of-the-art rides and a number of facilities offering great food and drink suiting all taste-buds.

Coach holidays to Weston-super-Mare are suitable for everyone as Weston Bay has miles and miles of clean sandy beaches to rival those found in Bournemouth so you can let the children play till their heart's content on the beach. Believe it or not but the sunny seaside resort of Weston-super-Mare has lots of attractions and things to see and do whilst staying here. Here are a few to consider for your next trip:

Weston-super-Mare Museum Discover the exciting history of North Somerset from times of the past to the present day. This museum tells a wonderful story of the area's colourful past, explore Clara's Cottage, a typical Westonian's Home in the 1900's. Or perhaps investigate archaeology of the Mendips and the area's natural history.

Puxton Park Set in the Somerset countryside, the Puxton Park is a great day out for the family allowing children to learn, explore and most importantly have fun! Enjoy outdoor activities such as mini golf, a maze, a giant fort and pay a visit to the farmyard animals – there are feeding and petting times throughout the day. Watch flying demonstrations and a special owl encounter

Grand Pier The Weston-super-Mare Pier is a great attraction for everyone and is located on the Bristol Channel. Re-opened in 2010, the pier has a variety of attractions for both children and adults including Go Karting, Dodgem cars, a Helter Skelter, a Laser Maze and Britain's smallest rollercoaster the 'Robocoaster'.

Wookey Hole Located on the southern edge of the Mendips, Wookey Hole are a series of caves which were used in the Stone Age for shelter. The caves are now lit beautifully and still have a river flowing through them today. The Caves aren't the only attraction at Wookey Hole; explore dinosaur valley, the fairy garden, clown museum and the magical mirror maze.

Health and Travel Insurance  Travel insurance is recommended by all our tour operators and for some operators it is a condition of booking. When choosing a travel insurance please ensure it fully covers all your personal requirements including pre-existing medical conditions, cancellation charges, medical expenses, and repatriation in the event of accident or illness. As a British citizen you will obviously be entitled to free emergency health care on the NHS.

If you are visiting England from outside the United Kingdom and fall ill or are involved in an accident and are from an EU country or Switzerland, you can use a valid EHIC issued by your home country to access healthcare. Please note this is not an alternative to travel insurance.  Comprehensive travel insurance is advised for nationalities planning on visiting the UK.

Crime  The United Kingdom is a safe place to visit, however, as with all countries please exercise common sense. Petty crime can occur so take your usual precautions such as not leaving luggage unattended, beware of pickpockets in tourist areas and leave valuables in the hotel safe.

Local Laws and Customs  Queuing is a British Institution - jump a queue at your own risk!

If you are visiting from outside of the United Kingdom, it is wise to check customs requirements before you travel. If you are planning to bring alcohol, tobacco or souvenirs into the country, you need to be familiar with the UK's custom laws. If you go over your allowances, you may have to pay tax or duty. It is worth checking the  HM Revenues and Customs website  before you travel.

UK Entry Requirements  When travelling between the UK, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man you may need to show a Border Force officer a document confirming your identity. In most cases an official form of identification such as a driver's license or an armed forces identity card will be ok. However, some airlines will insist you show a passport so please check before you travel.

If you’re from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein you can enter the UK with one of the following identity documents: a passport, an Irish passport card or a national identity card issued by an EU country, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, if you’re eligible to use one. The identity document should be valid for the whole of your stay.

If you’re from outside the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein, you must have a valid passport to enter the UK. It should be valid for the whole of your stay. You may also need a visa, depending on which country you’re from. Please check  here  if a visa is required before you travel. 

During the 18th Century naked bathing was commonplace in Weston Super Mare! This wasn't to last however, as the invention of the bathing machine came in to cover swimmers completely on their transfer to and from the sea.
