Worlds Collide at G-Eazy and Logic’s Endless Summer Tour

G-Eazy and Logic 's Endless Summer Tour is an example of how well opposites can attract, especially in the rap world. The Bay Area rock rapper and DMV lyricist brought their show to the Barclay's Center in Brooklyn last night (July 26) and made it clear to see how the seemingly odd couple match up to put on a show that can appease both of their worlds.

As the crowd of the sold out show filed the seats, Logic took the stage first at 8 p.m. with his resident record scratcher, the trusted DJ Rhetorik. The duo greeted fans with two huge LED block screens reminiscent of Logic's set up for the  Incredible World Tour. With each new song performed ("Wrist," "Under Pressure," "Flexicution" , "Fade Away") Logic's fans got high off his contagiously fun energy. The video game aficionado understandably brought out a dabbin' Mario mascot to act as his hypeman for "Super Mario World" off his most recent tape, Bobby Tarantino . Logic finished up his set by rapping "Gang Related" at unimaginable speed. When he saw someone in the front row rapping along with him word-for-word, Logic singled him out and had the fan do the last verse with him and threw his Ratt Pack hat to the fan as a keepsake.

Next up was G-Eazy at around 9:30 pm. The Bay Area native's set included booming renditions of his early and recent hits. From "You Got Me" to "Random" and "Loaded," the seasoned showman proved just why he has risen to stardom in the last three years. Guest appearances included West Coasters Nef The Pharaoh , Ty Dolla $ign , Marc E. Bassy and YG. Memphis hitmaker Yo Gotti  hit the stage and broke up G-Eazy's set for proportional pacing. When G-Eazy brought out YG for the remix of the Bompton rapper's "FDT," the crowd got exceedingly zealous, but it was a surprise appearance from New York's own Jadakiss that really had the show's attendees lose control.

Though G-Eazy and Logic's sets differ in terms of content—G Eazy's burbon swigging, pyrotechnics and raunchy lines vs. Logic's live beat-making, fandom shoutouts and lyrical acrobatics—they share a common thread: the morales of perseverance, gratitude and hard work. During Logic's set he preached about treating everyone the same, no matter their status.

"You make sure you treat your trash man like the president of the United States. We are equals," said the 26-year-old.

And G Eazy's set drove home the idea of hard work as he thanked his mother who sat front row in the arena.

"Growing up in the Bay, this shit don't happen... I just bought a motherfuckin' house off rap music."

With a few more stops left on their national tour, the guys plan to bring the party to Cleveland, Philadelphia, Boston and more before wrapping up in early August. Check out some of XXL 's social coverage of the Endless Summer Tour below.

Openers YG and Yo Gotti brought the street appeal to the bill, as the Compton rapper YG delivered cuts from both his chart-topping debut ,  2014’s  My Krazy Life,  as well as his sophomore effort  Still Brazy.  Yo Gotti brought his No. 1 smash “Down In The DM” as well as standouts from his  The Art of Hustle  LP, while Logic brought an onslaught of bars to Barclays and G-Eazy dominated the sold-out stint with a mix of hip-pop fan favorites like his Top 10 single  Bebe Rexha collaboration “Me, Myself And I.”

1. Performing at Barclays was “a dream” for both Logic and G-Eazy

During the show, both Logic and G-Eazy ruminated on their humble beginnings that consisted of performing low-paying shows to small turnouts. For one, Logic shared that he was only paid $100 for his first show in Brooklyn, which hosted 50 attendees. As for YG’s first New York show, he performed in a tiny room at Webster Hall for approximately 100 people.

2. Brooklyn is definitely anti-Trump

YG riled up the crowd with a live rendition of his politically charged cut “FDT (F— Donald Trump).” G-Eazy also joined in on a performance of the remix, which was released earlier this month with additional bars from Macklemore . Somewhere in America, Hillary Clinton was smiling as the crowd jeered at the thought of Trump becoming president. YG also revealed that he wasn’t allowed to sell “F–k Donald Trump” shirts at Barclays Center because Trump “owns a piece of this building.”

3. Yo Gotti is a party starter

During his set, Gotti had the crowd pumped by jumping into bangers by other artists like Rae Sremmurd ‘s “No Type” and Fetty  Wap ‘s “My Way.” He also had fans screaming “My DM just caught a body” during the performance of his chart-topping hit “Down in the DM.” Club favorites like 2013’s “Act Right,” Gotti’s collaboration with YG and Jeezy as well as 2010’s Lil Wayne -assisted “Women Lie, Men Lie” also turned the tour into an instant lituation.

4. Logic is a Rubik’s Cube on the mic

Logic took a brief time-out from rapping to show off his Rubik’s Cube-solving skills, which he was able crack in under 30 seconds. For his set, the Maryland MC ran through fan favorites like “Gang Related” and “Super Mario World.” For his set, Logic ran through fan favorites like “Gang Related” and “Super Mario World.” He even showed the crowd how to make a beat from his MPC and freestyled over the newly created beat. G-eazy and logic: the endless summer tour, a recap of an amazing tour with two of today's most popular rappers..

G-Eazy and Logic: The Endless Summer Tour

My summer has consisted of working, shopping and hanging out with my friends. While doing all of my usual summer activities was entertaining, nothing beat the day that I went to see G-Eazy and Logic at the Endless Summer Tour.

I had recently gained interest in rap and hip hop, and G-Eazy quickly caught my eye as an entertainer.

I fell in love with his song "Me, Myself, and I" featuring the up-and-coming pop singer Bebe Rehxa. Since I became so attached to this song, I decided to listen to the other songs on his new album "When It's Dark Out" as well as his other album "These Things Happen." Listening to his music daily, I got hooked and was determined to see this man in concert.

I had asked one of my close friends to join me on this adventure to the concert that was located in New Jersey. We traveled 2 1/2 hours from Scranton to Holmdel just to see my favorite rapper.

We decided to splurge and upgrade to meet and greet tickets so that we could spend a few precious moments with G-Eazy. My friend and I were so excited that we didn't know what to expect when we met him in person.

When we arrived at the venue, we stood in line with other fans who had meet and greets and made casual small talk. As we moved into the line and waited for G-Eazy to arrive, we saw him and his body guards walk into the venue where the meet and greet would begin. I was so excited that I yelled out, "Hi Gerald!" and he responded "Hello Ladies," with a big smile and a subtle wave. Just from that little encounter, my friend and I were awestruck. I was so excited when I finally was next in line to meet him. I was so nervous that I would say something stupid and embarrass myself.

I walked into the meet and greet venue and was starstruck. He was just as handsome in person as he is in his photos and music videos. He stood at a tall 6-foot-5 and had his black hair slicked back in his signature style. He gave me a big hug as I approached him and asked me what my name was. I told him, and he responded that I had a beautiful name and thanked me for all of the love and support. After about 5 minutes of talking, I finally got my picture with him and I swear that was the happiest moment I had ever experienced in all of my life.

After our meet and greet, my friend and I went to our seats, which were located in the second row of the venue. While my friend and I didn't know much about Logic and his music, we were so excited and open to experience his style and stage presence.

I admired Logic because he was so down to earth, and told his fans much about his life before he was famous. His story and music resinated with me so much that he is currently one of my favorite artists.

G-Eazy was the final act of "The Endless Summer Tour." Every second was worth the wait and I had never experienced such an amazing time in my entire life. G-Eazy was so interactive with the crowd and kept the party atmosphere going during the whole entire show.

I can gladly say that Logic and G-Eazy put on one of the most amazing concerts that I have ever seen. I wish that I could relive every second of that day. My friend and I vow to go to any Logic or G-Eazy concerts that come our way again and hopefully we will get to hear new music from them, too.

2016 is definitely the year for both G-Eazy and Logic.

A long over due thank you note to my greatest passion..

Dearest Yoga,

You deserve a great thank you.

Never would I have thought a few years ago that I would be such a huge yoga fanatic, that I would be hitting the gym almost every day to get to class, and that I would be forming all these amazing relationships with so many incredible people who also share a love for you. You've enhanced my way of life in numerous ways that I need to thank you for.

Thank you for showing me my true strength. Not only physical strength, but more importantly mental strength. You've shown me that I am more than what others may think of me, and that I can rise above any obstacle that comes through my path.

Thank you for helping me to walk through life with grace and passion. To love what I do and love the life that I share with those around me. Before experiencing yoga, I never truly understood what it was like to be passionate about something. Now that I have, not only do I know what it's like to be passionate, but also have a willing to be passionate.

Thank you for teaching me what it is like to appreciate the small things in life. Which has only helped me more to appreciate the big things. You've shown me to not only appreciate the life around me, but also to give myself the appreciation that I deserve. And more importantly, give others the appreciation that they deserve.

Thank you for allowing me to let go. Whenever I feel as if I need a break from the world, the yoga studio is the first place I think of. As soon as I enter the studio, the outside world leaves my mind. You've allowed me an escape that I will be forever thankful for.

Thank you for turning me into a mindful person. Having mindfulness is harder than it seems, especially here in today's society. Over the past couple years, I have become more mindful to the world around me, I have been able to truly be myself and let everyone else be themselves -- all thanks to yoga.

And lastly, thank you for allowing me to breathe. As simple as it sounds, breathing is the one thing that I carry around most with me off the mat. Deep breaths are what get me through the day. Throughout tough situations, emotional battles, and stressful times, I always know to come back to my yoga, to come back to my breath.

I only hope that those around me feel the same way as I do about you, yoga. You have truly transformed my life in the best way imaginable. It is a gift and a great privilege to be able to experience the practice. Thanks to you, I have grown as a person, proved to myself the true strength I have, become more aware and have ultimately started living a better life.

You're the best,

Your Yoga-Obsessed Friend

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion..

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

The Norse cosmos began with two worlds, Niflheim and Muspellheim. These two worlds, the worlds of primordial cold and fire , were separated by a great fissure called Ginnungagap. The waters from the well Hvergelmir, at the center of Niflheim, by many rivers flowed into Ginnungagap and "when those rivers, which are called Elivagar, came so far from their source, the poisonous flow hardened like a slag of cinders running from a furnace, and became ice. ...Then layer by layer, the ice grew within Ginnungagap" (Byock 13). The northernmost regions of the gap filled with hoar frost and rime, but the southernmost were "the regions bordering on Muspell [and] were warm and bright" (Byock 13). Where the cold of Niflheim's ice and the warmth of Muspellheim's fire met in Ginnungagap the ice thawed, and "there was a quickening in these flowing drops and life sprang up" (Byock 14). From the ice came Ymir, known as Aurgelmir by the giants, the origin of all frost giants. As the wise giant Vafthruthnir says, "'down from Elivagar did venom drop, / And waxed till a giant it was; / And thence arose our giants' race, / And thus so fierce are we found'" (Bellows 76-77).

25 Throwback Songs You Forgot About

But you know you still know every word..

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day. You know when you're going through and you hear a song where you're just like "I forgot this existed!" and before you know it, you're singing every word? Yeah, me too. Like, 95% of the time. If you're like me and LOVE some good throwback music, here's a list of songs from every genre that have gotten lost in time, but never truly forgotten.

1. "Big Pimpin'" - Jay-Z ft. UGK

Jay-Z gives us a ballad about, you guessed it, pimpin' big in NYC. Jay-Z's rhymes paired with that catchy beat is just bound to get stuck in your head for the rest of the night.

2. "Mr. Brightside" - The Killers

If you say that you don't know any of the words to this song, you're the worst kind of person... a liar. This classic has left stamps of its lyrics on 99% of the population, and has a forever spot in my soul.

3. "Lose Yourself" - Eminem

This song always leaves me feeling like I could sign a record deal and launch my career as a rap/hip-hop legend... and craving spaghetti.

4. "Courtesy of the Red, White and Blue (The Angry American) - Toby Keith

A ballad for the ages that brings the overly patriotic American badass out of all of us.

5. "Drop It Like It's Hot" - Snoop Dogg ft. Pharrell Williams

SNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!

6. "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" - Green Day

This song makes me want to walk down a lonely road, preferably a dark one, and reflect on all of my life choices. Nevertheless, it's still a fantastic song.

7. "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" - Panic! At The Disco

If your friends don't "chime in" by screaming the chorus at the top of their lungs in the car with you, it's time to leave them there and find new friends. Also, did anyone ever tell the groom what his bride has been up to?

8. "Semi-Charmed Life" - Third Eye Blind

A life anthem for all of us. Third Eye Blind has recently released another album. My inner child is tingling.

9. "Baby Got Back" - Sir Mix A Lot

Nicki Minaj sampled this in her song "Anaconda" in 2014. Take a minute to realize that some people have heard that, but not the REAL jam that the sample came from. Now, cry.

10. "Get Low" - Lil Jon ft. Ying Yang Twinz

The real question is which version is better: Lil Jon's or Sandra Bullock's?

11. "Check Yes Or No" - George Strait

You don't have to be a country lover to know this song. My hardcore rocker/screamo friend even knows the chorus. Don't try and tell me you don't. I don't like liars.

12. "Ride Wit Me" - Nelly

"Ayyyyye, must be the monaaayyy!" - frequently screamed lyric

13. "Pony" - Ginuwine

Even though I can't hear this song without seeing Channing Tatum's half naked body in my mind, it's still one of my favorite songs to hear. Instant day brightener when I hear that funky beat at the beginning.

14. "Cleanin' Out My Closet" - Eminem

As sad as these lyrics are, Eminem really hit this one out of the park.

15. "Gangstas Paradise" - Coolio

10/10 would recommend listening to Weird Al's parody of this song.

16. "It Was A Good Day" - Ice Cube

The first time I heard this may have been on Grand Theft Auto, but that doesn't mean that it isn't a great song.

17. "What's Your Fantasy" - Ludacris

Another song that I knew most of the lyrics to that I probably shouldn't have at a young age.

18. "Everybody (Backstreets Back)" - Backstreet Boys

They really were back, and we all wish they had stayed.

19. "Misery Business" - Paramore

I can't tell if I want to be Hayley Williams or be ON Hayley Williams. I'd be okay with either. #girlcrush

20. "Steal My Sunshine" - Len

This feel good song makes me want to rip open a popsicle and ride my bicycle around town.

21. "Fly" - Sugar Ray

As repetitive as this is, this song will never get old.

22. "Song 2" - Blur

23. "buddy holly" - weezer.

Weezer may have hated this song, but we are glad they recorded it.

24. "No Rain" - Blind Melon

Maybe it's just me who is obsessed with this song, but if you haven't heard it, I highly recommend.

25. "99 Problems" - Jay-Z

I have 99 problems, and this playlist solves all of them.

27 Hidden Joys

Appreciation for some of life's most discredited pleasures..

Life is full of many wonderful pleasures that many of us, like myself, often forget about. And it's important to recognize that even on bad days, good things still happen. Focusing on these positive aspects of our day-to-day lives can really change a person's perspective. So in thinking about the little things that make so many of us happy , I've here's a list of some of the best things that often go unrecognized and deserve more appreciation:

1. Sun showers

3. tight hugs, 4. discovering new foods you like., 5. laying in bed after a long day., 6. and being completely relaxed, 7. "this reminded me of you", 8. breakfast foods, 9. over-sized clothes, 10. contagious laughs, 11. car rides with that one person, 12. random (i miss you/ i love you) texts, 13. the city at night, 14. surprises, 15. blanket cocoons, 16. good hair days, 17. really good coffee, 18. days where you're in a good mood naturally and for no particular reason, 19. conquering a fear, 20. when they give you a lot of guac at chipotle, 21. being so comfortable with someone that you can literally talk about anything, 22. home-cooked meals, 23. tattoo stories, 24. leaves changing color in fall, 25. butterflies in your stomach, 26. peanut butter & jelly sandwiches, 27. when you can't stop laughing, cool off with these 8 beers.

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports ... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Coors Light Summer Brew:

This summer shandy begins this list, it's a mix of lemon, lime and orange. While this is by no means a craft beer, it still has it place as a refreshing summer brew to enjoy.

Leinenkugel Summer Shandy

Solid choice for any summer get together, great taste with a hint of citrus.

Leinenkugel Sunset Wheat

Distinctly reminds me of Fruity Pebbles, but nonetheless is a wonderful summer beer.

Want to know more about beer?

Summertime is the perfect time for beer, and that's why International Beer Day is on August 2nd. Our community has you covered with more stories about beer, including:

  • The Benefits of Drinking Beer : Let us count the ways. There are more than you might think.
  • Delicious Beer Substitutes : Is beer not typically your thing? Try one of these instead.
  • Unique Beer Flavors to Try : Whether it's hard apple cider or the tase of wild blueberries, these are great options.
  • If College Majors Were Beers : Business, sports medicine, design – there's a beer for every major.

Sam Adams Summer Ale

Sam Adams is known for their traditional Boston Lager, but their Summer Ale is damn good.

Hell or High Watermelon

Made with real watermelon, not much is more summer-esque than juicy watermelon in July.

Blue Moon Summer Honey

I love me some Blue Moon, so the summer brew is a no-brainer on this list.

LandShark Lager

Fun fact: LandShark is owned by Anheuser-Busch, and is more commonly know as the signature drink of Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville.

Obviously Corona had to take the number one spot. To me, there's nothing more refreshing than a cold Corona with lime on a hot summer day.

So whether you're on a sandy beach, a fishing boat, or at a pool, just remember what our dear friend Jack Nicholson said, "Beer, it's the best damn drink in the world."

Drink responsibly and never drink and drive.

We especially cater to new teachers, but half of our attendees are veterans.  Many come to Logos Summer Training again and again, since there is enough content that they don’t repeat.

Workshops will be offered in multiple tracks: Grammar (Elementary), Logic & Rhetoric (Secondary), and Administrative/Board.  Attendees are not locked into any one track; they may attend any session of interest. At check-in, you will receive a workbook with schedules, workshop outlines, maps, etc. Additional handouts will be provided for some sessions. Bring some pens, highlighters, and perhaps sticky notes.

Teacher training is designed for all major subject areas (grades PK-12) using the classical method. Workshops will include time to discuss the methodology of each concept and various methods of teaching the material.   Administrators and board members will concentrate on the practical and philosophical considerations of operating a classical, Christian school.

Every morning and afternoon will begin with a plenary session, followed by a choice of hour-long workshops.  We will allow time for Q&A in each workshop. Come prepared to interact! There will also be informal opportunities to get to know others and tap into their knowledge.

TRAVEL AND LOGISTICS:

But it is also a small, somewhat isolated town…just getting here will be a bit of a challenge for you.  We are very mindful of the sacrifices you are making to come here. We will do our very best to ensure your sacrifices are rewarded.

Airports :  We have 3 airports that are good possibilities:

1) Moscow/Pullman Airport (PUW). About 6 miles from the school. This is a small commercial airport served by Alaska/Horizon through the Seattle hub.  It is very convenient, but not always the cheapest; definitely worth checking because it’s so close.

2) Lewiston, Idaho (LWS).  About 35 miles from the school. This is a small commercial airport served by Delta and United.

3) Spokane, WA. (GEG). About 87 miles from the school, but there is never any traffic so it takes only about 90 minutes. This is a medium-sized airport, but the biggest in the whole Inland Northwest.  Airlines include Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, Southwest, and United. Often this airport is the cheapest, because of the competition and volume.

Hotels : Several hotels are within walking distance of the school.  Make your reservations early!

A guest room block and special rates are being held at the Best Western Plus University Inn.    Prior to May 24 , please visit  Reservations   or call 208-882-0550 x 0 and mention Logos Teacher Training. When using the link,  please confirm your arrival and departure dates at the top of the first page . If the link is showing no availability, you are unable to book your required room type OR if making reservations after May 24 , please call the hotel directly.

  • Fairfield Inn & Suites (less than half a mile from the school)
  • La Quinta Inn and Suites (about 1 mile away from the school)

Within 10 miles of the school, there are another dozen hotel options.

Vendors will be at the conference, with booths set up in the back of the gym in until lunch each day.

  • Canon Press (Christian Publisher)
  • Picta Dicta (A Latin Learning Platform)
  • New Saint Andrews College (a classical college located in Moscow)
