To say that my trip to Iran was amazing would be an understatement. Tap Persia was the best agency that I could have chosen, they organized everything perfectly for me, my guide Mojtaba was kind and knowledgeable and honestly, I have no adequate words to describe how beautiful my trip was. I spent 8 days covering many cities and came back wanting more! Thank you Rasool and Mojtaba for your kindness and most excellent customer service! I have every intention of coming back to beautiful Iran again! Best, Nasseema Visited May 2022 Tripadvisor

I got TAP Persia from TripAdvisor. This was my first experience and first visit to Iran with my wife. When I contacted this company through one of this company guy named Rasool, I found him very positive and true. He introduced me an other nice person named Shorab, who was our trip organiser. Our visa was done in 2 days with the help of nice lady Sara. Our whole plan was done as İ discussed with Shorab. Our all hotels in 4 different cities, internal transportation i.e VIP bus, domestic flight and 5 star sleeper train were booked by this guy. We didn't find a single problem anywhere. Special thanks to this guy Shorab. Shorab invited us in his office in Isfahan and served us with tea and other items. We met there the whole team of Tap Persia. We found them hardworking, honest with their work, sincere and busy to serve their clients as much as they can. We spent some hours with Shorab in Isfahan and enjoyed with his hospitality. İ highly recommend this company to all those who wants to visit Iran without any hassles and worries. Our best wishes and prayers are always with this company and all their workers. Such an amazing Iranian travel agency. I have found tappersia on Instagram while searching for things about Iran. This 15 days vacation was something I really wanted to do. How amazing this country and people are. Tappersia is what every foreigner needs, to go to Iran. Good and professional staff, very nice, friendly and helpful all the time. Ara was our first tourist guide in Tehran. He was very nice, polite and kind. Always worried about what we would like to see and about our preferences. He has a good historic and cultural background and he is excellent explaining everything about Iran's culture and history. Ebrahim, our second guide. He is an excellent, kind and sweet person. He has that special feeling about what people need to know and like to see. We immediately felt a strong bond with him. Although he is a very nice and funny person he is also serious and professional when he speaks about Iran and its cultural heritage and history. He did everything to make our stay as nice as possible. Not only he was an excellent driver but an amazing tour guide. We will recommend him to every tourist going to Iran. He could read our minds and understand exactly what we want and what our preferences were. Ali was our third tour guide. He took us to the Kerman desert. In our first contact, we immediately realize he was very good at his job. He also worried about our food preferences and allergies. He showed us all the beauties of the desert - precious peal hidden in Iran. Such a fantastic and professional guide as well. We had a wonderful dinner together. We will remember it. Last but not least Moji. He took us to Persepolis, Necropolis and Pasargard. What an amazing way to end our staying in Iran. He was wonderful telling us about how everything started in these beautiful and ancient places. We could see how thrill he was telling us about all the history. Finally a special thank to Tappersia for every single moment we spent in Iran. These have been for sure one of the most wonderful vacations we could have had. Thank you so much to all of you. Most relaxed holiday thanks to TAP Persia. We came in a troubled time so booked everything through TAP Persia just so that we would feel a bit more secure but the experience was beyond expectations. I have never had a more relaxed holiday. Everything was already booked for us; we had a private car picking us up every time we changed places, offering tours and stops in between all this on a very affordable price and always being there for every question we had. Totally recommended!   Visited Feb 2020 Tripadvisor

I had an amazing time due to the amazing service provided by TAP Persia. Since the first contact Maryam and Rasool were super helpful, willing to explain everything we needed and replying in a very effective manner at all times. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and I strongly recommend them to everyone that wants to have a relaxed yet fun and cultural experience. Visited Feb 2020 Tripadvisor

Before applying for a visa through TAP Persia, I looked up review's to see if they were trustworthy. The many good reviews almost seemed to be good to be true. But after experiencing their service first hand, I can say that they truly deserve the rating. After payment issues, they went ahead with the process anyways. Without a guarantee or anything. A show of faith from their side shows a great mentality if you ask me. So I'm glad I chose them to arrange the Iranian visa/code. Visited Feb 2020 Tripadvisor

Best travel agency you can find. I travelled for three months in and had the support of TAP Persia at every step of the way. They took care of my visa, my tourist (credit) card and registered my phone after a month. During my travels I could always call or text them about any issue I had. They booked several bus, train or flight tickets for me on short notice. I also got to meet them in person when I was in Isfahan and became really good friends with them. TAP Persia is the best, most professional and friendliest tourist office you can find. You‘ll be in the best hands and won’t have to worry about a thing. I hope to see them again soon! TAP Persia helped me so much on my first adventure in Iran. I didn’t know where to start, but a friend recommended TAP Persia. Before my arrival staff was on call to help me when my flight was delayed. They were flexible to change the “original” route so I could visit the desert and everything I wanted to see without hustle and at a really good price. I did this on a quite small budget. All guides were great! And when I arrived to Isfahan I went to see the the office of TAP Persia and the wonderful people behind it. I’ll be back soon! Visited Nov 2019 Tripadvisor

Over the years and despite preferring to do things by myself, I’ve relied and many tour companies on some locations. I’ve chosen TAP Persia and I was not proven wrong. 🙂 paying a lot of money in advance is something I dread, but did. My trust was never misplaced. They helped me with my visa application (that I did in Istanbul), all of my in between cities transportation, hotels and a few guides. The hotels were amazing, the drivers drove good and safe, always kind; the guides super knowledgeable. The few changes I asked for on the ground (a guide where I hadn’t booked one, changes in itinerary, extra space in last train) were done with care and great effort. Never had to beg or insist. I would totally recommend using their services. You are always in contact with them by multiple ways and their representatives are all really nice! Iran is a wonderful destination and TAP Persia does it justice. Visited Nov 2019 Tripadvisor

Iranian Consulates in Pakistan

You can select to collect your visa from any of the Iranian Consulates worldwide.

  • Iran Visa Application Process

In compliance with the regulations set forth by the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a Tourist visa is granted to foreign nationals who wish to travel to Iran either independently, as part of a group, or to visit friends and relatives.

This visa allows for a maximum stay of 90 days, with the possibility of extensions within Iran, and remains valid for a period of 3 months from the date of issuance. Depending on your nationality and the consulate you approach, you have the option to submit your documents and obtain a visa after a few days without requiring a reference from Iran. Alternatively, you can apply through the new e-visa system. However, this process may prove time-consuming or unproductive, especially when applying from outside your home country.

Most consulates typically require an authorization letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran, a crucial step in the visa application process. Once you have obtained this authorization code, the remaining steps are relatively straightforward, and you can usually receive your visa within 1 or 2 days.

While an Entry (Business) visa is an option, it necessitates an invitation letter from your Iranian host. It’s important to note that opting for a tourist visa provides the advantage of enjoying special tourist rates with hotels and other accommodations.

Step 1 : Complete the Application Form

Your submitted data will be used to generate a formal application sent to the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, granting authorization to the consulate for visa issuance. It’s crucial to ensure the accuracy of the details entered, as they must align with your passport information and the documents you will later submit to the consulate for visa collection.

Step 2 : Payment

Upon submission of your application, you will be provided with the service bill and payment instructions. It’s important to note that this charge is separate from the visa fee required for the consulate to stamp your passport in Step 4.

Step 3 : Obtaining the Visa Grant Notice

Upon completion, you will receive an authorization letter, referred to as the Visa Grant Notice, which will be sent to the Iranian Consulate or airport specified in your application form. You will be provided with both the visa code and a visa grant notice document, allowing you to retrieve your visa. Please note that this code is exclusively valid for the designated consulate and only for a duration of 2 or 3 months from the date of issue. If needed, you can request us to forward it to another consulate for an additional charge.

Iran Visa Grant Notice

Step 4 :  Visa Collection

With the reference code in hand, proceed to the consulate accompanied by your passport (valid for the next 6 months), the completed visa application form (available for pickup at the consulate or downloadable from their website), 2 recent passport-sized photos (sometimes not required), the applicable visa fee (subject to your nationality), and the authorization reference code. Always ensure to verify the specific document requirements with the consulate, as variations may exist from one consulate to another. Additionally, explore the possibility of submitting the documents by mail and receiving the visa through this method. For further information, please reach out to the consulate directly. You can access a directory of all Iranian consulates here .

Step 5. Arrival in Iran

Congratulations! You are now free to enter Iran!

Roundtrip Iran - Classical Persia

Roundtrip Iran - Classical Persia

A cultural trip that will show you both modern Iran and ancient Persia. This is a roundtrip through the Persian lands especially recommended to culture seekers showing both the modern face of Iran and the ancient remains of Persia like it was 2500 years ago. For more than 300 years Persia has played central role in the Greeks, Arabian, Mongolian and the Turkish empires, having influenced all of them to some extend (art, scientific, philosophical or religious aspects). Nowadays Iran remains widely misrepresented and little understood by the general public. We follow the steps of several renown conquerors, that invaded these lands during the ages like Alexander the Great, Chingiz Khan, Timur etc. The tours is rather diverse not only because of the cultural highlights that we will visit. The nature of Iran also amazes with alternating landscapes – deserts, oasis, green areas, orchards etc. Highlights: ♦ Persepolis - Persepolis is the Greek name of the ancient town of Parsa, one of the capitals of the Persian Empire, included in UNESCO’s World Heritage ♦ Isfahan (Esfahan) - Isfahan is the third largest city in Iran and it’s called Orient’s Florence ♦ Yazd - one of the largest cities built almost entirely out of adobe

Day 1. Arrive Shiraz. Arrive Shiraz International Airport and transfer to our hotel for overnight. -/-/-

Day 2. Shiraz Celebrated as the heartland of Persian culture for over 2000 years, Shiraz has become synonymous with education, nightingales, poetry and wine. It was one of the most important cities in the medieval Islamic world and was the Iranian capital during the Zand dynasty (AD 1747–79), when many of its most beautiful buildings were built or restored. Our city tour includes a visit to Karim Khan Complex, Nasir Almolk Mosque, Vakil Mosque and bazaar, the tombs of the famous Persian poets Hafez and Saadi. Overnight in Shiraz. B/L/-

Day 3. Persepolis and Naghsh-e-Rostam Founded by Darius I in 518 B.C., Persepolis was the capital of the Achaemenid Empire. It was built on an immense half-artificial, half-natural terrace, where the king of kings created an impressive palace complex inspired by Mesopotamian models. The importance and quality of the monumental ruins make it a unique archaeological site. Next is Necropolis - the burial site of the Achaemenid kings (Naghsh-e-Rostam). Drive back to Shiraz for overnight.   B/L/-

Day 4. Shiraz - Yazd En route to Yazd (430 km) we visit Pasargadae and the tomb of Cyrus the Great. Pasargadae was the first dynastic capital of the Achaemenid Empire, founded by Cyrus II the Great, in Pars, homeland of the Persians, in the 6th century BC. Its palaces, gardens and the mausoleum of Cyrus are outstanding examples of the first phase of royal Achaemenid art and architecture and exceptional testimonies of Persian civilization. Arrive Yazd late in the afternnon. Hotel overnight   B/L/-

Day 5. Yazd Yazd is located in the middle of the Iranian plateau, close to the Spice and Silk Roads. It bears living testimony to the use of limited resources for survival in the desert. Water is supplied to the city through a qanat system developed to draw underground water. The earthen architecture of Yazd has escaped the modernization that destroyed many traditional earthen towns, retaining its traditional districts, the qanat system, traditional houses, bazars, hammams, mosques, synagogues, Zoroastrian temples and the historic garden of Dolat-abad. On our city tour we visit to Dowlat abad garden, Tower of Silence, Fire temple, Jame mosque, Mir chakhmagh Mosque, Water Museum. Overnight hotel in Yazd.  B/L/-

Day 6. Yazd - Meybod - Isfahan Morning drive to Isfahan (270 km), with stop in Meybod visit the Caravanserai and Narin Castle , continue road to Isfahan. Overnight in Isfahan.  B/L/ -

Day 7. Isfahan Isfahan was once one of the largest and most important cities in Central Asia, positioned as it is on the crossroads of the main north-south and east-west trade routes that cross Central Asia. The city was the splendid capital of the Seljuq and Safavid dynasties, and is renowned for its beauty, which has given rise to the Iranian saying that “Isfahan is half the world”. We have a full day of city tour including Naghsh-e-Jahan Square with Imam & Sheikh Lotfolah Mosques and Alighapou Palace and the bazaar; Sheikh Lotffollah Mosque and in the evening visit the Old bridges of the city. Overnight in Isfahan.  B/L/-

Day 8. Isfahan - Teheran Today we continue the city tour with Vank Church - one of the most beautiful Armenian churches, Monar Jomban (The Shaking Minarets),Chehen Sotun Palace before we continue our journey to Teheran (450 km).  B/L/-

Day 9. Teheran A morning visit to Tabiat Bridge and Sa'ad Abad Complex (The Summer Palace of the Shah) - we visit two out of the 18 historical palaces. Overnight hotel in Teheran.  B/L/-

Day 10. Departure Transfer to Imam Khomeini Airport and departure   B/-/-

Click here to see the required information and documents for obtaining a visa. You will be required to fill out the application form and provide the requested documents as soon as possible after placing your booking.

Visa: Citizens of many countries are eligible for a 15-day tourist visa upon arrival at the airport. To receive the visa, you need to receive a pre-approval visa grant notice, which we can provide for you. The visa is then received and paid upon arrival at the airport (price: about 78 - 90 EUR). Please, check in advance if you are eligible to this. If not, we will provide the necessary documents, so you can obtain Iranian visa in your local Consular Office in advance. NB! No Israeli stamps or visa are allowed in your passport!

IMPORTANT:  *Citizens of Canada, the USA and the UK are not eligible to get visa on arrival and need to get their visa from the local Iran embassy after receiving the grant notice. The visa fee for these nationalities might be higher and is paid in the respective embassy. We can assist with providing grant notice and other necessary documents. Since the process for obtaining visa for the above-mentioned nationalities might take up to 2 months, we do not guarantee you will receive it if you sign up for the tour less that two months before the departure date.

*Visa information is updated April 2023. There might be changes at the time of your trip and all information should be confirmed at the time of booking.

Currency fluctuations might cause correction of price at any time.

We recommend a flight by Turkish Airlines, Aeroflot or Qatar Airways

No special experience is needed; everyone who is in condition to cope with long Saturday walks in the forest can also cope with these tours. As a rule, the trips are short and at a low altitude. Often, it is your choice to join or skip a day-tour. The routes follow a hilly terrain without steep ascents and descents. Normally we walk 3/5h a day.

Travel in Iran FAQ

As a travel agency in Iran , we guarantee that your expedition is both pleasurable and enlightening while also being trouble-free.

Are these trips Iran private tours?

Yes, most of these Iran tours are made so that only you, your family, and your friends will travel together. You will not be traveling to Iran along with people you never met. But we also have Iran group tours available if you’re interested.

At a certain point, while searching on the Internet, you might ask about the difference between private and group tours. The difference is whether you will be sharing transportation with unknown people or just with your family or friends.

Imagine you buy a tour to come with your family. This will be a regular private tour, where you will have private transportation and a guide during the whole trip. Iran tour packages price change depending on the number of days and the quality of hotels. Consequently, a tour of 3 -star hotels will be cheaper than a luxury tour featuring 5-star hotels. The trip cost gets cheaper depending on the people that travel with you since the transportation price will be divided by everyone.

Now, the second situation is if you buy one place in our guaranteed departures group tours. In this case, you will join a group of people traveling along using the same transportation. We set up specific dates with a certain number of open seats so solo travelers can quickly and affordably join an Iran tour. As an Iran tour agency, we offer packages focusing on different thematics such as desert, architecture, culture, photography, and nature.

Yes, tours in Iran from India can be arranged. Yes, Iran tour packages from Pakistan can also be arranged. We receive clients from all over the world. If you plan to travel to Iran, you may be interested in one of the tours with very complete itineraries that can also be customized to extend for more days if you’re interested.

We have guaranteed departures throughout the year, especially during Easter and summer (June, July, and August). Our trips to Iran include accommodation, flights, a guide (in English, Spanish, or French), and monument tickets.

How much is the price of monument tickets in Iran?

The monument and museum entrances in Iran range between 200,000 rials and 500,000 rials for the most famous attractions.

Iran is a highly touristic country, with more than 17.000 registered monuments under the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts. Our tours usually have all the entrances included in the price, so you don’t have to worry about this.

The prices of monuments in Iran differ between local people and foreign tourists. The very high price difference seems unusual, but it is how the government and local authorities compensate for the option of receiving visitors.

Most tourist attractions in Iran are very well maintained, so expect major tourist sites to be clean and well organized, with proper facilities, available tourist guides, opening times, decent opening hours, etc.

RJ Travel wants to be one of the best Iran tour companies. For this, we expect our services to exceed all possible expectations regarding guidance, accommodation, transportation, and food provided to our clients.

What is the best way to fly in and out of Iran?

Without a doubt, the best European hub to fly to Iran is Istanbul. Turkish Airlines flies to six different destinations in Iran: Ahvaz, Isfahan, Mashhad, Shiraz, Tehran, and Tabriz. Pegasus Airlines offers competitive airfare on its flights to Tehran Airport (IKA). Austrian Airlines also offers flights to Tehran.

Flying to Tehran on arrival and departure through Shiraz can be a wise choice as this way, you can organize a tour of Iran with entry and exit from different cities, thus saving time and money. Without having to go through Tehran, the busiest of the Iranian cities. Also, the connection via Istanbul is relatively straightforward.

Some of our tour Iran package offers actually include itineraries that start and end in different cities; for example, our 3-Day Travel to Iran starts and ends in Shiraz.

Other options have the Shiraz domestic flight back to Tehran included in the price. Iran is very simple and easy to arrive and depart from. All the necessary tourist infrastructures are ready, functional, and properly developed to receive visitors.

How much will the flight tickets for this tour cost?

Prices vary depending on the time of the year and how much you purchase your tickets in advance. But usually, we can say that a round-trip ticket from Istanbul to Tehran and out from Shiraz to Tehran will cost around 200 Euros up to 400 Euros, depending on the season. Pegasus, flying in and out of Tehran, can be much cheaper, as it is one of the most famous low-cost airlines in Europe. Flying from Madrid round-trip usually costs around 350 Euros.  Austrian Airlines  through Viena has tickets available for around 500 Euros return.

What is the capital city of Iran?

Iran’s capital is Tehran, with a population of approximately 15 million people. Tehran is the capital of Iran and is located in the north of the country, south of the Caspian Sea and of the Elburz Mountains.

Despite Iran’s very long history, Tehran’s history as capital is relatively young compared to other thousand-year-old sites around the country. Of course, something in Iran that is relatively recent is already ancient if compared to other countries in the world. In the 16th century, the beautiful city of Tehran (photo) was walled by the Safavid dynasty, and even some of its rulers (shahs) made Tehran their residence in the 17th century.

The Kayar dynasty took power in the 18th century and made Tehran the country’s capital in 1795. Some works were carried out in the next two centuries, but the city was still moderately small. With the new Pahlavi dynasty, which took power in 1925, Tehran underwent a sweeping architectural transformation, with massive projects to the detriment of old and historical buildings, which were destroyed to make way for modern buildings.

The most significant symbol of Tehran is the Azadi Tower (in Persian, “Tower of Freedom”), built-in 1971 to celebrate the 2500 years of the Persian Empire (video). This famous monument in Tehran has a museum; from its viewpoint, you have an excellent view of Tehran.

The most modern icon of Tehran is the Milad Tower , the fifth tallest tower in the world at 435 meters high. The Milad tower dominates the Tehran skyline and is a complex that has a luxury hotel, a convention center, restaurants, etc.

Golestan Palace is the oldest monumental complex in Tehran and dates from the Qajar dynasty . It is made up of several palaces and has one of the best museums in the city. The Niavaran Palace is another large palace complex and was the residence of the last Shah of Iran .

Is it safe to travel to Iran?

Yes, Iran is very safe to travel to.

Most people have the wrong idea regarding whether Iran is safe to travel to. Still, the reality doesn’t really match the misleading news we often see on television, picturing Iran as a violent country full of angry people. In fact, Iran is one of the safest countries in the world.

People are extremely friendly and welcome tourists with open arms. Before deciding to travel to Iran, you must open your mind, leave your comfort zone, and embrace this fantastic destination. You will realize the country is “normal” just a few minutes after arrival.

The crime rate towards tourists is unseen and not accepted by the local population; consequently, the penal code provides harsh consequences to criminals. Everyone can walk around all Iranian cities at night without any problem. Iran is safe to travel now, as it was before, and it will be safe to travel after, as a bright future awaits the Iranian tourist industry and its professionals.

Is Iran safe for tourists? Definitely yes.

Also, if you’re wondering if Iran tours for us citizens are safe, Iranian people are very welcoming and love people from all over the world. Very early in their history, Iranian learned not to mix politics with personal relations and human interaction.

Are you asking either if Iran is safe for Indian tourists? YES, it is.

In fact, Iran receives thousands of Indian Zoroastrian pilgrims every year to visit the most sacred pirs. Numerous sites in Iran are destinations for Zoroastrians.

The only imminent danger in Iran is when you are a pedestrian. So, a word of advice, if you want to cross the road, be vigilant, and follow the locals.

Is it easy to get a visa to Iran?

Yes! Getting a visa to Iran is very easy. All our tours include the Iranian visa on arrival reference number so you can skip the line at the airport. Most nationalities can get an Iranian visa on arrival, and prices differ by nationality, usually ranging from 50 to 75 Euros for European Union passport holders. Iran no longer stamps the passports of foreign tourists to ease their concerns about traveling to other countries after leaving Iran.

At IKA Tehran International Airport, you will have to deliver the document to make your visa » follow the instructions on our Iran Visa on arrival – step-by-step page. Download or print the available PDF and take it with you.

Before traveling to Iran, your passport must be valid for at least six months. You need at least 10 working days to apply for an Iranian visa through our services. Fridays in Iran are holidays and therefore are not counted as a weekday. A week in Iran goes from Saturday to Thursday. Last-minute visa to Iran requests is often possible if they are within 5 working days’ distance. Contact us for further information about this matter, and we will tell you if possible or not.

Citizens of Canada, the United Kingdom, and the United States of America must apply for the visa reference number on arrival 3 months in advance.

With our Iran tourist visa reference number, you will skip the line at the airport and go directly to pay your VOA (Visa on Arrival).

There are 10,000 Jewish living in Iran, the largest Jewish community in the Middle East after Israel. So, obviously, it’s OK if you’re Jewish. Jews have one of five seats assured for religious minorities. The others are saved for Zoroastrians and Assyrian-Chaldean Christians, while Armenian Christians get two seats. Iran’s Jewish community is one of four religious minorities with a designated seat in parliament.

But, take into account that citizens of Israel (Jewish, Muslim, and Christian) are banned from entry to Iran. Also important to mention is that visa entrance to Iran is refused to holders of passports or travel documents containing an Israeli visa or stamp or any data showing that the visitor has been to Israel or indication of any connection with the state of Israel.

After you purchase your tour with us, you will have access to your client area, where you will fill up a form to request an Iranian Visa reference number. We will send your application to the Visa Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Tehran. When we receive your approved visa reference number, we will upload the PDF to your personal files area, from where you can download and print it. You will be notified by an automated email when this document is uploaded. Don’t forget to bring a printed paper version of the document to deliver at the airport in Iran.

How should tourists dress while visiting Iran?

All women, including foreigners, should cover their heads with a piece of cloth and wear long, loose clothing in all public spaces. The scarf should cover the neck and be worn as soon as you get off the plane in all public spaces. It can only be removed in your hotel room or houses where other Iranian women also remove their scarf.

Women in Iran are part of all social activities; they work, study, have high-rank career positions, drive, go to restaurants and public cafes, etc. The legs can never be uncovered. However, be aware that long skirts, pants, jeans, and tracksuits are allowed.

Men must wear long pants, a t-shirt, and definitely no shorts or tank tops.

What to do at the airport when arriving in Iran for the first time?

Many travelers might find themselves lost when entering any Iranian airport for the first time. In reality, you have nothing to worry about, and the plan is quite simple and straightforward.

At Tehran airport or any other city like Shiraz airport, head to the Visa office following the signs, located after the insurance office (if someone stops you for insurance, show your printed document included in our tours).

At the Visa office’s first desk, show your visa reference number we provide so that you skip the line for those who don’t have it. Pay for your visa at the bank booth.

Deliver the receipt and passport to the visa booth. After getting your passport, you can go back to the police passport control and enter Iran.

Our guide will be waiting for you in the arrivals area. You will have the guide’s name and phone number with you. If you feel lost and by any chance, you don’t see the guide, ask someone to call him/her. Maybe you went out at a different gate, so you have nothing to worry about. Everyone will help with a smile.

Who lives in Iran?

Iran is a very diverse nation. In fact, although the Persian language is taught at school as the official language, it only corresponds to the mother language of 50% of its population.

The people of Iran are highly educated, so expect even the familiar people to know about many subjects and be able to establish exciting conversations.

The Iranian people are :

Persians » 44.9 million people. Azerbaijanis » 13.3 million people. Kurds » 8.31 million people. Gilaks and Mazandaranis » 5.8 million people. Lurs and Bakhtiari » 4.9 million people. Arabs » 2.4 million people. Turkmen and Qashqai » 1.5 million people. Baloch » 1.7 million people. Assyrians, Armenians, Georgians, Circassians, and Mandaeans » 1 million people.

Are credit cards accepted in Iran?

No. Currently, international bank cards cannot be used in Iran because they don’t work. Therefore it is necessary to carry cash, in euros or dollars, and exchange it for Iranian rials when you arrive in the country. As you can imagine, the rial, the currency of Iran, is not convertible outside of Iran, so it is convenient not to change more than you need.

While booking your tour with us, you pay online, so you don’t have to worry about carrying too much money beforehand. You need to carry money for your personal expenses and souvenirs.

Please consider that a carpet can cost between 50 Euros to 10000 Euros, depending on how much money you want to carry to buy things. A few times, some of our clients don’t bring enough money to get everything they wish for. So you better be prepared to go shopping. Bring cash with you.

How can tourists communicate with Iranian people?

Several languages are spoken in Iran, with Farsi being the official one. Farsi is also spoken in Afghanistan (Dari) and Tajikistan (Tajik).

It is highly recommended to have specific knowledge of English (or, to a lesser extent French). In large cities, the Iranian middle and upper class know English as it allows them to have more accessible contact with the rest of the world, making the trip much more accessible. Either way, all our tours include a full-time guide who speaks the language you understand so that you feel comfortable learning about the country’s culture, history, and traditions.

Bus of Pilgrims From Pakistan Crashes in Iran, Killing at Least 28

Iranian state media reported that the passengers were traveling to the Iraqi city of Karbala for Arbaeen, a Shiite Muslim holiday.

At least 28 pilgrims from Pakistan were killed in Iran when their bus overturned on Tuesday night while traveling to commemorate a Shiite Muslim holiday, state-run media in Iran has reported .

The bus was heading to the Iraqi city of Karbala for Arbaeen , a two-day holiday that begins on Sunday evening, draws tens of millions each year and is one of the world’s largest organized gatherings.

At least 23 other passengers were wounded, 14 of whom were critically injured, the state-run news agency IRNA reported, adding that Iran was working to repatriate the bodies and fly the injured back to Pakistan.

Many of the pilgrims came from Sindh Province in the south of Pakistan, Pakistani officials and local news media said.

Video broadcast on state-run Iranian television showed a yellow and red bus lying upside down. Its big wheels were up in the air. The doors to the luggage storage compartments under the bus had fallen open. Men looked around a gnarl of metal and machinery with flashlights, searching.

The accident took place in Yazd, a province in central Iran, the state media said. The journey from Pakistan, through Iran and on to Karbala can extend 1,100 miles. The cause of the crash was not immediately clear.

Traffic accidents are a systemic problem in Iran, where hazardous roads are a source of concern. The government has been trying to reduce road deaths by 10 percent, but fatalities rose 15 percent in 2022 compared with 2019, according to a paper published in June in The Lancet , a medical journal.

The United Nations Road Safety Fund is also working on a multiyear project to improve highway regulation in the country, saying: “Iran’s performance in policymaking and implementation needs to be radically improved.”

During Arbaeen, the roads may be even more crowded in Iran, which is predominantly Shiite. Last year, the BBC reported , 25 million people participated in the journey. That same year, about 1.8 million people traveled to the Hajj, in Saudi Arabia, according to government data .

There are additional risk factors for people passing through Iran on their way to Karbala, which is about 60 miles southwest of Baghdad, the Iraqi capital: Many people drive for days across hot, bright roads, while struggling to navigate unfamiliar terrain.

The holiday commemorates the death of Imam Hussein, a grandson of the Prophet Muhammad. He was an important leader in Shiite Islam and is said to have been killed in a massacre in Karbala more than 1,300 years ago.

Iranian officials offered their sympathy and condolences to the families of the crash victims on Wednesday. Pakistan’s leadership mourned the deaths, too. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif wrote on social media that he was “deeply saddened.”

Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, Pakistan’s ambassador to Iran, pledged to help families and thanked Iran for its “excellent cooperation.” He said that every year, at least 50,000 Pakistani pilgrims visited Iran to see the holy sites. Most were Shiites, he said, and many continued on to Iraq.

“I have no words to express grief,” he wrote on social media , “but I can assure that I will do my very best for repatriation of those who passed away.”

Salman Masood contributed reporting from Islamabad. Nader Ibrahim contributed video production.
