Thousand Foot Krutch a Christian rock band formed back in 1995 from Canada. 8 Albums in and still touring with their Christian lyrics and rock fused music.

Back in 1995 when the likes of Nirvana and Oasis were on the front pages of papers, destroying the charts and touring around the world, a Christian rock act was about to take to the scene and conquer the Christian crowds. Thousand Foot Krutch have sold half a million albums in their time and are continuing to sell out crowds of Christian rock lovers everywhere.

Their sound is rather like Linkin Park but imagine lyrics based on religion and beliefs. The three members Trevor McNevan lead singer, Joel Bruyere, bass guitar, and drummer Steve Augustine rock out with their crosses out night after night and are a huge success in their national home. They've won countless awards for their religious music including Rock Song of the year and Rock Album of the year in 2010 at the Gospel Music Association Canada Covenant Awards.

Their recently released album 'OXYGEN:INHALE,' has sent them on a tour around the world so be one of the lucky ones to witness this sensational act live.

If you are a fan of Christian rock and don't know about this band then there is something seriously wrong with you. Have you been living under a rock your whole life? If so change it to a Christian rock and get into this band.

Live reviews

As a Canadian Christian rock band, it is no wonder that Thousand Foot Krutch is not a household name in the UK. However, the band are enormously successful in their home country and have racked up a huge number of awards since their formation in 1995, as well as having released eight studio albums. Their obscurity in the UK is shocking considering how recognised they are in Canada and the US; clearly it is time to banish whatever veil is hiding them from us and bring them to Britain! Far from your generic, guitar bashing heavy rock band, Thousand Foot Krutch’s songs are catchy, meaningful and melodic. With almost twenty years behind them, they have grown so much in both musical ability, stage presence and style. Clearly experienced musicians, with a range of eclectic songs behind them, they are a force to be reckoned with on stage and definitely worth a watch. Their concert was loud, powerful and full of energy. Their heavier rock music was aggressive but passionate and had the entire crowd in an uproar. However, slower songs such as personal favourite ‘This is a call’ would suddenly turn the whole atmosphere around and bring the formerly frenzied crowd to a sudden halt, as everyone would shut up screaming and listen to the emotional ballad. Favourite tunes included ‘Move’, ‘War of change’, ‘Courtesy call’ and slower tunes ‘Breathe you in’ and ‘This is a call’.

There are very few bands who can perform Christian rock with the intensity and passion of Canadian outfit Thousand Foot Krutch. Their success is very much centred around their homeland where they have won countless awards for their albums over the years yet across the globe the trio has amassed a cult like following for their music.

Although the band has gone through a number of lineup changes since their beginnings in 1995, the current lineup of Trevor McNevan, Steve Augustine and Joel Bruyere work really well together and each member is equally confident when addressing the crowd and making sure they are having a fantastic time. The music sounds record perfect thanks to the high quality of their musical ability as well as the crystal clear acoustics of the venue. The likes of 'The Flame in All Of Us' sounds brilliant live and the crowd are happy to sing back in force, the best reactions though are given to the impassioned speaking of Trevor who talks about the intrinsic link between music and faith.

Awesome show! Lots of energy in the crowd. Great light show, good sound mix, great crowd interaction. The rest of the bands on the tour complimented the music mix very well.

Get Thousand Foot Krutch tickets now to see an amazing performance live by a great entertainer. Pop-Rock music has an emphasis on recording craft and songwriting and not as much emphasis on attitude. Beginning in the 1950s as an alternative to rock and roll, early iterations of pop-rock were influenced by doo-wop and rock-and-roll arrangements and styles. Many traditionalists prefer rock and roll to the more slick, commercial production of pop-rock.

Some refer to the music as power pop with a similar sound and lyrical content. Pop-rock music has been very commercially successful using elements of rock music. Many describe it as an upbeat variety of rock music. The term pop comes from the early twentieth century referring to popular music. In the 1950s, it began to be referred to as a specific genre typically aimed at youth and young adults. It is frequently characterized as a softer alternative to rock and roll. Ontario, Canada-bred international rock favorite THOUSAND FOOT KRUTCH  reignites for its first new project in over six years, this time with the help of several of its musical peers. The album, entitled  The End Is Where We Begin: Reignited , includes newly recorded performances morphed with the original tracks from the band’s hugely successful independent recording,  The End Is Where We Begin . The first single from the project releasing today (July 21), “War Of Change (2023),” features Thousand Foot Krutch and Las Vegas-based rockers  Adelitas Way . Premiered on this week’s  SiriusXM Test Drive , the single is also available now at digital and streaming outlets globally from  Endurance Music Group  and  The Fuel Music  via  https://slinky.to/WarOfChangeTFK .

“Creating  The End Is Where We Begin  was a special and defining moment that will always hold a special place in my heart,” says Thousand Foot Krutch founder, vocalist and songwriter  Trevor McNevan . “It was a time of big faith steps, trusting our hearts and leaving behind any securities of a record label. The album was forged through a fire, creating a special relationship with our audience in a new way. Not only did the audience show up, but they also walked with us. I’ll never forget it.”

McNevan continues, “It’s an honor to have so many cool bands/vocalists involved with the  Reignited  edition that Endurance Music Group has put together – hearing different expressions and interpretations of things and hopefully connecting audiences in a new way.”

“ The End Is Where We Begin  was our first independent release. A leap of faith. One that we took on with our fans, friends and new team,” remembers TFK bassist  Joel Bruyere . “We were able to create exactly what we wanted to, how we wanted to, and I look back on it with the same gut feeling as I did back then. Trev tapped into some incredible stories told in the most raw and honest way. I cannot wait for people to hear the new take on these special songs.”

“I have a lot of love for Thousand foot Krutch,” says Adelitas Way’s lead vocalist and songwriter  Rick DeJesus . “Trevor brings so much emotion and energy to ‘War Of change,’ it excited me to sing it with him. I hope we get to rock it out on stage someday!

“It was a smooth, fun day recording ‘War Of Change (2023)’ with Joel,” adds DeJesus. “He did a great job recording, and I love his mix! The song has a positive message of strength and change for the better. Its message is more relevant now than ever.”

“War Of Change (2023)” Lyric Video

Along with Adelitas Way, additional well-known artists have recorded  The End Is Where We Begin  tracks on this remarkable  Reignited  album, re-imagining the songs that have rocked generations of fans for over a decade. The featured artists and the new music will be revealed in the coming months.

Nashville-based Endurance Music Group, known for its work with independent rock and country artists and songwriters, will be partnering with TFK for the first time on its  Reignited  project.

“Working on this album with TFK has been a dream come true,” says EMG Senior Vice President  Mark Ahlberg . “Each of the artists that jumped onto these tracks brought their own passion and flavor to the recording, and I'm excited for people to get a taste of that with ‘War of Change (2023)’ and Adelitas Way.”

The roots of this project began in 2012 when TFK took a huge risk, walking away from record label life to release the SiriusXM Octane-nominated “Epic Album of the Year” and  Billboard  No. 1 selling Hard Rock album  The End Is Where We Begin . Launching with the band’s biggest sales debut to date, the five-star acclaimed indie album went on to spark five Active Rock hits and four Christian No. 1s that continue to resonate with the band’s fans. In 2021, the album garnered two  RIAA Gold ®  Single  certifications, including for its single “ War Of Change .” This track also landed at No. 1 on both Octane Big-Uns Countdown and at Christian radio while further becoming the band’s first-ever independent video that has now received 68 million views on YouTube alone.

With “War Of Change” leading the charge, by mid-summer 2014,  The End Is Where We Begin  had gathered 215 million YouTube streams alone, while averaging 296,000 plays every day. The success landed TFK’s McNevan, Bruyere and drummer  Steve Augustine , on the biggest rock festivals of that time nationally, including Rock on the Range and mainstage appearances at Rocklahoma, Carolina Rebellion, and more. Since then, the band has literally received billions of streams.

Thousand Foot Krutch does not have any upcoming events.

Just a year-and-a-half after Thousand Foot Krutch landed their second consecutive Hard Rock No. 1 and  Billboard  Top 10 album with the understated experiment  OXYGEN: INHALE , the adrenaline-doused rockers are back to the aggressive side of the dial with the entirely new companion collection  EXHALE. Not only is the experience loaded with arena-shaking anthems and bellowing battle cries at every self-assured turn, but the lyrics are some of the boldest and most uncompromising in the group’s history.

“I had gotten the idea a few years back of having an album called Inhale showcasing the lighter, quieter side of the band that's always been a part of our albums, allowing us the freedom to dig deeper into that than we have before. And then to have an album called  EXHALE  that drops the gloves and dives even deeper into the aggressive side of the band. We didn’t get soft on the last one! I promise!” laughs front man Trevor McNevan. “It was always meant to be a two-part story."

Besides bursting out of the stereo and ear buds upon the initial listen,  EXHALE  is also poised to rip off the roof in concert. In fact, McNevan, bassist Joel Bruyere and drummer Steve Augustine specifically crafted the collection to translate seamlessly between the two environments, rather than over producing the songs in a manner that would be impossible to duplicate.

“Lately my wife and I have been looking at houses and we’ve seen photos of places online that look amazing, but then when you actually go see them for yourselves, they look nothing like the photos,” he observes. “It’s basically a great photographer and not a great house, which is exactly what we don’t want to have happen when people come see us live. During the making of  EXHALE , we spent more time on certain elements to make sure we can capture that accurately since live shows are such a big part of who we are.”

One instant point of connection from the studio to the stage is the lead single “Running With Giants,” which in light of being the fastest chart riser in TFK’s history, has thus far been met with feverish live reactions. And it’s easy to see why given its unapologetic, gate-charging bursts of infectiousness, paired with an assertive message to empower even the most unlikely underdog.

“If there was a song that best encompasses the ‘release the dogs’ symbolism of the new album’s title, it would be this one,” notices McNevan. “In life, everyone wants to put you in a box, and label you, but your value or success doesn’t depend on what others think of you. Follow your own convictions, dreams and inspirations, and don't be afraid to step over your fears. The faith steps in our lives define our journeys, and that's what this song is about."

That musical momentum continues throughout “Incomplete,” another unbridled riff rocker that just begs to be played at full blast with the top down. “It’s a song about our journeys in life, personally inspired by our journey as a band,” continues McNevan, laughing as he recalls the band’s early days of playing for pizza and having a hole in the van floor that was literally a portal to the open highway below as they drove. “No one sees behind the curtain in others’ lives; the sacrifices made, the obstacles faced, the mountains climbed, or the fear, faith and failure involved to stay the course. This song says ‘we’re not perfect’ and that’s ok.’ We’re not expected to be, but we’ll fight tooth and nail for the truth we know and the journey that’s before us.”

Indeed, there’s a whole lot of history behind that heart on the group’s remarkable expedition dating back to 1997, which has amassed over 1.1 million albums sales, ten Active Rock hits, countless soundtrack slots, plus a massive presence in professional sports. In addition to being regulars on ESPN, the Ontario-bred artists are staples of the NFL (including the Super Bowl), MLB, NHL, NCAA, WWE and NASCAR. All the while, TFK tallies about 25,000,000 monthly views in combined streaming across all of YouTube, and since going independent in 2012, have sold an astounding 350,000 albums, a million singles and garnered 54 million streams!

“This hasn't been an overnight thing for us, it's been a journey. We're like an all-terrain vehicle who rarely pops out on the highway,” laughs McNevan. “We're always learning, and that’s the beautiful thing about this ever-changing music industry that we’re in. The rule book kind of got burnt and we’re starting again. That’s not saying you’re recreating the wheel by any means, but you’re definitely recreating the vehicle. When we finished our deal in 2011, we had some big record deals on the table with more money than we’d ever been offered, so it wasn’t easy to go our own way. But even these themes on  EXHALE  come from those experiences of taking steps of faith and being willing to go to a place that isn’t comfortable. You don’t have to understand all the details because if we had to have the right business plan with every detail written down on paper, every move we made, we would’ve never survived in music for 20 years."

Even with all that experience, TFK have kept their feet firmly planted on the ground in their pursuit to press on despite the unknown, a concept that certainly plays into the pummeling “Can’t Stop This.” Rather than coming across as cocky, as the title might casually imply, it’s a true testament to their tenacity, unwavering commitment to their principles and refusal to ever let the roadblocks take them down for the count. “Maybe we have a few more tools to fight with these days,” considers McNevan, “but we still fight every bit as hard.”

Another interesting ripple surrounding  EXHALE  and the guys’ ongoing quest to utilize the cards they’ve been dealt is their commitment to pouring back into their audience. Long before the project hit streets, TFK gave away the second chances-themed rocker “Born Again” as a free download to thank fans for their support. Received by fans so plentiful that they spanned more than 120 countries, clearly the band’s reach continues to cross musical and cultural borders.  Perhaps this is most evident throughout the album’s gritty yet uplifting centerpiece “The River,” which explores the idea of redemption through the universal metaphor of being “washed in the water.”

“Ideally I hope that the songs connect with people where they are at,” the singer sums up. “I hope they can relate to music and it can help them through the obstacles they are facing and also accompany them in their victories. I’ve learned through the years that if you write a song that’s honest to you, there’s a good chance quite a few other people can relate to that, even in totally different ways than you can imagine. I share stories with songs and listeners share stories face to face. Communicating together is like a two-way street and it’s the heart and soul of why we do what we do.”
