Journey to celebrate 50th anniversary with 30 shows in 2024: See where they're headed

Journey is continuing the celebration of its five-decade career with a run of 2024 shows.

The 50 th Anniversary Freedom Tour kicks off Feb. 9 in Biloxi, Mississippi and will play 30 dates in North America through April 29 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Sept. 29 via ticketmaster.com.

Toto, which supported Journey on their tour earlier this year to celebrate their "Freedom" album, will again join Journey founder, guitarist Neal Scho n, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, lead singer Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen as show openers.

Journey's tour finds the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers tearing through a set list of anthems including "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully," "Be Good to Yourself" and, of course, "Don't Stop Believin'."

When "Freedom" arrived in July 2022, Schon told USA Today that the album title was originally tapped for the band's 1986 release, "Raised on Radio," but then-singer Steve Perry didn't like it, "so we sat on it for many years … when we were tossing around album titles said, why not just call the whole thing 'Freedom?' It's for the times right now."

Schon was also sanguine when reflecting on the band’s legacy.

"It’s quite an accomplishment and I’m very proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve gotten through emotional and personnel changes and survived," he said. "It’s pretty mind-boggling but also a lot of hard work."

Journey Announces 2024 Tour Dates With Toto

Journey has announced dates for their 50th Anniversary Freedom Tour 2024 featuring special guest  Toto .

The trek will make its way through 30 North American cities, beginning Feb. 9 in Biloxi, Missouri, and ending April 29 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

"We are looking forward to hitting the road again with our very good friends Toto," Journey guitarist Neal Schon said in a press release. "Come join us for a special evening full of fun and rockin' good memories. See you soon, friends."

You can see a complete list of dates below. Tickets for all shows will be available starting Sept. 29, except Sioux City, which begins Oct. 5.

"We are thrilled to have been asked to join our dear friends Journey on the road again," Toto's  Steve Lukather  added. "We had such a blast the last couple of tours across North America together. Great success and so much fun. It is truly one big happy family, and it is a great night of music. Can't wait to see you all out there soon in 2024!"

It’s been 11 years since Journey released their last studio record, and for a while it was looking like they’d never get around to making one. “Nobody was really interested in making new music,” Journey founder and guitarist and Neal Schon tells Rolling Stone via Zoom from his California home. “It’s very difficult to get new material played and to get people familiar with it before you go out and play live. Everybody in the band was like, ‘I don’t want to do it.'”

Following the success of the 2023 Freedom Tour, legendary rock band JOURNEY has announced a new round of shows for their 50 th Anniversary Freedom Tour 2024 featuring very special guest TOTO . JOURNEY – Diamond-selling Rock & Roll Hall of Famers – will take the stage in 30 cities across North America with their catalog of global chart-topping hits, including "Don't Stop Believin”, "Any Way You Want It", "Faithfully", "Lights" and more.

Presented by AEG Presents, JOURNEY Freedom Tour 2024 begins Friday, February 9 in Biloxi, MS – making stops Louisville, Omaha, Las Vegas and more. The band will play PNC Arena in Raleigh, NC on Saturday, Feb. 17

JOURNEY features founder Neal Schon (lead guitarist), J onathan Cain (keyboards, backing vocals), Arnel Pineda (lead vocals) Jason Derlatka (keyboards, vocals), and Deen Castronovo (drums, vocals) and Todd Jensen (bass). Neal Schon is a 3x Hall of Fame inductee, having been inducted to the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and the Grammy Hall of Fame.  Jon Cain is a recipient of two BMI songwriter awards and was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey.

Journey are once again headed on the road with special guest Toto for their “Freedom Tour 2024” across North America.

The 30-city trek kicks off on February 9th in Biloxi, Mississippi, and will make stops in cities including Raleigh, North Carolina; Baltimore, Maryland; Louisville, Kentucky; Calgary, Alberta; and Las Vegas, Nevada before wrapping up on April 29th in Bridgeport, Connecticut. A Ticketmaster pre-sale will begin on Thursday, September 28th (use access code STUDIO ) ahead of the general on-sale slated for Friday, September 29th via Ticketmaster .

Once tickets are on sale, you can also find them at StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Earlier this year, a  Billboard report provided a look into the feud between Journey’s remaining classic members, guitarist Neal Schon and keyboardist Jonathan Cain, which had escalated to the point that off-duty police officers had been hired to guard their respective dressing rooms during the first iteration of “Freedom Tour.” Their last album,  Freedom , was released last July.

Get ready for a rockin’ time as Journey celebrates its 50th Anniversary Freedom Tour in 2024, and they’re bringing along their special guest, Toto! This epic musical journey will take them through 30 North American cities, promising unforgettable nights of classic rock.

The tour kicks off on February 9th in Biloxi, Missouri, and will wrap up on April 29th in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

Toto’s Steve Lukather is equally thrilled about the upcoming tour.

Journey 2024 Tour Dates

The band Journey will be on what is being called their Freedom Tour 2024 this year and fans could not be any happier. The Journey tour 2024 has an awesome special guest so far which is the band Toto . Although the band’s present line-up does not include original frontman Steve Perry, his eventual permanent replacement Arnel Pineda has stepped in to do an incredible job. So far, their itinerary for the 2024 year consists of about 40 Journey tour dates listed so far, but we know there’s more coming because too many major cities are not included in the present tour plans. Right now they’re scheduled to perform in Washington DC, Pittsburgh, Saint Paul, Portland, Tampa, Denver, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, St. Louis, Detroit, Pittsburgh and even up in Toronto Ontario (Canada). We are huge fans on the band Journey and can’t wait to see them perform live. Some of our favorite songs by them include Don’t Stop Believin’, Faithfully, Any Way you Want It, Open Arms, Wheel In The Sky, Separate Ways, Stone In Love, and Lovin’ Touchin’ Squeezin’.     Check down below for the latest official list of Journey tour dates . Shy Janitor Richard Goodall Crying After Getting Heidi's Golden Buzzer Is So Emotional

Richard Goodall had never been on a plane before, but that didn't stop him from chasing his dreams on AGT Season 19.

America’s Got Talent is a place for people with immense talent, but with sometimes limited access to a grand stage to showcase it. Perhaps no one embodied that more than Season 19 premiere superstar, Richard Goodall.

The humble janitor from Terre Haute, Indiana closed out the premiere episode by kicking the already high talent bar up another notch with a vocal performance you simply had to hear to believe. In fact, it was so good it earned one of the coveted Golden Buzzers from a Judge who was just as moved by his song as everyone in the crowd. 

How Richard Goodall made it to AGT

Before he took the stage, Goodall noted he grew up loving music and listening to it endlessly as a kid. When he got older, he needed money so he took a job as a janitor at a middle school just three blocks from where he lived. To pass the long hours, he would often belt out some jams in the hallways, much to the delight of the students.

Eventually, he believed them when they told him he had talent, which prompted Goodall to get on a plane for the first time in his life and audition for AGT  19 — and it's a good thing he did! 

What song did Richard Goodall sing for his AGT  audition? 

When he took the stage to answer some of Simon Cowell’s preliminary questions, it was clear to anyone watching that Goodall was shy and a little nervous to perform in what was doubtlessly his biggest crowd ever.

However, all nerves seemingly fell away when he hit the first note of Journey’s 1981 classic “Don’t Stop Believin’.” The Judges and the audience were shocked to hear this quiet janitor suddenly hit the song’s notes with the talent of a seasoned professional singer. It didn’t take long before the crowd was on its feet, with some even being moved to tears.

Perhaps Cowell said it best (and most matter-of-factly) when he told Goodall he was his hero. 

“That was special, genuinely special,” he added. “I think America is going to love you.” 

Sofia Vergara agreed, saying: “I mean that was spectacular, that was fun. This was an amazing surprise. I think you are perfect to come to AGT because you made our night.”

Howie Mandel told the singer he “cleaned up” and called him “amazing” before speculating that all his students watching at home were probably screaming for him. 

However, it was Heidi Klum who gave the highest praise in the form of one of her two Golden Buzzers of the season.

“Richard, Richard, Richard, you knocked me off my feet,” she said. “I mean we all had the best time with you up on that stage. I really feel something with you up there and I hear you up there… and now, this is what I’m going to do for you, because I love you.” 

With that, she pressed her Golden Buzzer and instantly moved Richard to tears. 

“I’ve never even been on plane,” he said as golden confetti rained down on him. “This was not on my radar to come to California, this was a dream come true.”

After coming up on stage to hug him, Klum accompanied Goodall backstage where he called his fiancée to tell her the good news. While she was clearly proud of him, it was clear she wasn’t surprised his smooth voice earned him a Golden Buzzer.
