Destination Must-Sees

Canada ms1

Explore Labrador, a place where time stands still, nature remains untouched by modernism and the people welcome you whole-heartedly. The newest of Canada’s 10 provinces, it is large in size but has a small population in comparison. Labrador features some of the oldest rocks in the world that tell the remarkable story of earth’s evolution. Just off its coast, the meeting of its cool current and the warm Gulf Stream creates a home for an abundance of marine life and seabirds.

Canada ms2

Newfoundland Icebergs:

See Iceberg Alley, one of the best places in the world to see these colossal floating 10,000-year-old glacial blocks in many shapes, colors and sizes. On a sunny day, you can see these glaciers from many points along the northern and eastern coasts by boat tour, sea kayak or by hiking along the coast. The best time of year to view them is in late May and early June.

Canada ms3

Take in Canada's diverse, captivating scenery! From mountain ranges and glaciers to pastoral land and coastal natural wonders, Canada is simply brimming with wildlife and adventures for every age and activity level. Photographers who visit the region are never disappointed and always leave with truly incredible photos. With its abundance of colors and diverse landscapes, Canada deserves a top spot on every nature lover’s bucket list.

Canada ms4

You're in for a treat! The foods of Canada offer your palate a variety of spices and flavors. The cuisine is influenced by local sources, the traditions of the Indigenous people, and a diverse population. Each region has its own specialty, like the seafood of Atlantic Canada, Vancouver’s fantastic Asian restaurants, the meat produced by Alberta’s sprawling ranches and the wine from British Columbia.

Destination Must-Dos

Canada md2

Icefields Parkway:

Winding along the Continental Divide, the Icefields Parkway is one of Canada’s national treasures and a favorite destination for many. It will take you past waterfalls, rushing rivers, glacial peaks, imposing cliffs and snowcapped mountains. Be sure you bring your camera. You’ll want to take lots of pictures to capture the incredible sights to share with family and friends back home. This is a journey through natural history and captivating landscapes that will change you forever. You will revisit this close encounter with nature’s grandeur over and over again in your dreams as long as you live.

Trains (VIA Rail):

Aboard VIA Rail’s The Canadian, admire the majestic beauty of the Rockies and experience train travel like it used to be in your private cabin. Listen to the peaceful sounds of the train while natural beauty dances to life before your eyes in a scenic wonderland; it’s a veritable journey back in time as you travel from Vancouver to Jasper. Enjoy first-class meals and awe-inspiring vistas during the day. Spend the night in the comfort of your private sleeping room that includes a private washroom. From the moment you board The Canadian, you’ll embrace the nostalgia of a golden era; rail lines trace history while whisking travelers through scenery far removed from the highway.

Canada md3

Niagara Falls:

Behold Niagara Falls, an incredible natural wonder where a staggering four to six million cubic feet of water flows over the falls every minute. Straddling the international border of Canada and New York State are the three waterfalls known as Niagara Falls. They’re called Bridal Veil, Horseshoe and American and have a vertical drop of over 165 feet. Providing hydro-electric power and majestic beauty, the Falls are best viewed from one of the many cruise boats operating on the river below, or from the new zip line that borders the Falls. Also, if given the chance, go see the falls at night. They are lit up and look incredible in the night sky. You may even see fireworks.

Canada md4 Frontenac Castle

Old Québec City:

Take a trip back in time and explore Old Québec, North America’s only walled city north of Mexico. Here you’ll find colonial architecture, unique shops and restaurants, and plenty of old-world European charm. Visit the Place Royal where Samuel de Champlain built what became the first permanent French settlement in North America. See the neoclassical façade and stained glass of the oldest church in Canada, the Notre-Dame de Québec Basilica-Cathedral. Explore the antique shops, cafés, and art galleries of the Old Port and stroll along the St. Lawrence River. Visit Parliament Hill, see the iconic Château Frontenac, and discover over 400 years of history in this cultural heart of Québec City.

Expert Advice

diana

One of the best parts of traveling is coming back home with souvenirs that really reflect the place you’ve just been. In the Canadian Rockies, native handcrafts such as wood carvings and artwork by aboriginals are very popular. Look for jewelry made from Canadian materials such as ammonite (a rare fossil that produces a precious gem stone) and jade in British Columbia.

Canada e2

Please be sure to pack a warm sweater and jacket as well as gloves and a hat, as temperatures at higher elevations can change very quickly. Summer temperatures can also vary greatly when in the mountains. It is suggested that you bring a pair of sunglasses, especially while visiting the Icefields — it can be very bright.

Welcome to Canada

Canada is a country that feeds the souls of nature lovers and provides a depth of thinking to those culturally curious. From the rock candy mountains of Western Canada, to the sparkling European-flavored capital cities of the east, this is a destination we behold in our roots and continued to be inspired by.

Experiencing the best of eastern canada.

In Canada's eastern provinces, our ninety plus years of experience means introducing you to the breathtaking coastal landscapes of Nova Scotia's Cabot Trail. Or taking a cruise to feel the mists of Niagara Falls. It's about indulging in a Celtic "kitchen party" on Cape Breton Island and a cider tasting in Quebec. It includes rug-making and scallop traditions in the Maritimes, visiting Anne of Green Gables' backyard on Prince Edward Island, an evening at the Citadel in Halifax, and many more regional experiences in Ontario, Quebec and the Maritime Provinces.

Welcome to Western Canada

West and north of Canada's cosmopolitan capital cities lies some of the most beautiful scenery in the world, protected in stunning national parks dressed in jeweled lakes, iced mountains and wilderness playgrounds. Experiencing it with Tauck means stays in grand resorts, eye-opening walks on the wild side, and insights that inspire your daily discoveries. Whether you're exploring an icy glacier, peering at polar bears, flightseeing over the Gulf Islands or taking in the sights by rail, river raft, or from atop a lookout in the Canadian Rockies, Tauck's expert perspectives enrich the view.

Toronto, Ontario

Immersing in the multicultural mix of canada's largest city.

On the northwestern edge of Lake Ontario, Canada's largest city – Toronto, Ontario – offers a vibrant mix of markets, museums, green parks, great food, drink and jazz. With Tauck, a stay at one of the city's most popular hotels puts you at the center of it all...

Traverse the Welland Canal

A marvel of engineering two centuries in the making....

Comprising eight locks that enable ship traffic to travel between Lake Erie and Lake Ontario by bypassing the Niagara River and Niagara Falls, the Welland Canal is a 200-year engineering marvel that actually represents four successive canals. Originally designed and built in the 1820s, a second canal replaced it in the late 1840s, and a third opened in 1887. The construction on the fourth and current Welland Canal – which your ship on "Cruising the Great Lakes" will traverse in about 11 hours, accompanied by an expert guide – began before World War I was not completed until 1932 and expanded some 40 years later.

30 Facts You Didn’t Know about Canada

From its fascinating history to intriguing facts about its vibrant cities, let's explore 30 surprising details about this northern wonderland.

Frequently asked Questions about Touring Canada

To really get to know this glorious country - there is no better experience than the Grand Tour of Canada - journeying from East to West and encompassing a ride on the iconic Rocky Mountaineer train. Alternatively, you can choose to take time in the East - enjoying the cosmopolitan city of Toronto in our Toronto and Niagara Winter Escape or explore all the way up to Quebec City on our Eastern Splendours tour.

With its unspoilt natural wonders including crystal clear lakes like Lake Louise, deep and vast forests and mountainous backdrops - most visitors to Canada would agree that the highlight of Canada is the landscape itself. And let's not forget the bucket list experience of a visit to the spectacular Niagara Falls!!

However the cities of Canada deserve a mention here too - world famous for offering their residents high quality of life, clean living and vibrant, thriving environments. Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Quebec are places to behold.

The below guidelines apply mainly to the settled areas of southern Canada. Travellers heading to northern areas, such as the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, Nunavut and Labrador, should bring warm clothing for all but the summer months (and even in summer, at least a lightweight jacket is advisable)

For all months of the year, we recommend layers of clothing. This will allow for any change in weather conditions. Although most of Canada can enjoy warm summer temperatures, one waterproof top is always useful for occasional rain.

March: Moderate temperatures. Winter clothing with some medium weight clothing. April: Milder days but the evenings are cool. Medium weight clothing including a topcoat and umbrella is recommended. May: Warm days but cool at night. Medium weight and summer clothing recommended.

June: Warm, summer clothing with some medium weight clothing for cool evenings. The weather in June is ideal for travel and all outdoor activities. July/August: These are the warmest months of the year. Lightweight summer clothing is recommended.

September: Warm days and cool evenings. Light- to medium weight clothing recommended. October: Cool, with the first frost in the air. November: Cool to frosty. Medium- to heavyweight clothing is recommended. First signs of snow. December/January/February: Winter temperatures. Winter clothing is necessary (eg overcoat, hat, boots and gloves). Heavy snowfall in most provinces.

In the winter months it is useful to take sunglasses with you as the reflection of the snow can be a strain on the eyes. Rubber soled shoes are also recommended.

Canadian cuisine is as varied as the country. The colonial influence is still strong, with European menus available in all major cities. The French influence in Québec is easily discernible in the many restaurants that specialise in French cuisine. Areas where particular groups of immigrants have settled have their own distinct specialties; look for German-style cuisine in south-western Ontario, Ukrainian dishes on the Prairies and Asian foods in Vancouver, for instance. Waiter service in restaurants is common. Dress requirements and billing procedures vary. Imported European and 'New World' wines and spirits are widely available.

Specialities:

  • The hundreds of miles of coastline offer varied  seafood .
  • The central plains provide  first-class beef  and agricultural produce.
  • Some more  unusual games meats include elk, bison and caribou

As Canada is such a vast country (3,000 miles from coast to coast), it has been divided into time zones.

  • Toronto is 5 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Montreal is 5 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Calgary is 7 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Banff is 7 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)
  • Vancouver is 8 hours behind Greenwich Mean Time (GMT)

From April to late October, Canada adopts ‘daylight saving time’, which is equivalent to our British Summer Time, so the time ratios remain the same between the two countries.

Hibernation season (for animals AND humans) is quickly approaching. How about one final trip?

Some folks prepare for winter by resting and nesting, but we're all about squeezing in one last adventure before the "long dark" settles over the country. In Canada , most trips start wrapping up in early fall as the country battens down the hatches against the harsh winter weather. If you want to explore the Canadian Rockies , unwind in a hot spring in Banff , or enjoy a fresh Prince Edward Island lobster roll , consider a trip in September . Eating your weight in Timbits (tasty doughnut holes), all-dressed chips , and poutine isn't a bad idea...bears stock up for winter, so why can't we?

Air canada prepares for orderly shutdown to mitigate customer impact resulting from labour disruption.

Talks with ALPA nearing impasse over union's excessive wage demands

Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge prepare to gradually suspend flights over three days, potentially starting as early as September 15, 2024

Customers advised to use airline's goodwill policy to defer imminent travel at no cost

MONTREAL , Sept. 9, 2024 /CNW/ - Air Canada today said that it is finalizing contingency plans to suspend most of its operations. Talks between the company and the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA), representing more than 5,200 pilots at Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge, continue, but the parties remain far apart. Unless an agreement is reached, beginning on September 15, 2024 , either party may issue a 72-hour strike or lock out notice, which would trigger the carrier's three-day wind down plan.

"Air Canada believes there is still time to reach an agreement with our pilot group, provided ALPA moderates its wage demands which far exceed average Canadian wage increases. However, Canadians have recently seen the chaos abrupt airline shutdowns cause for travellers, which obliges us to do everything we can to protect our customers from an increasingly likely work stoppage. This includes the extremely difficult decision to begin an orderly shutdown of Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge once a 72-hour strike or lock out notice is given, possibly as early as this Sunday," said Michael Rousseau , President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada.

"We understand and apologize for the inconvenience this would cause our customers. However, a managed shutdown is the only responsible course available to us. We are publicizing our plans to give the more than 110,000 people who travel with us each day greater certainty and the opportunity to reduce the risk of being stranded by using our goodwill policy to change or defer imminent travel at no cost. We are also alerting the Government of Canada to the potential disruption's impact upon Canadians."

Air Canada Express flights will continue to operate, as third-party carriers Jazz and PAL Airlines provide these services. However, these regional partners only carry about 20 per cent of Air Canada's daily customers, many of whom ultimately connect on Air Canada flights.

For customers

Air Canada's first consideration is the needs of customers and providing peace of mind. For detailed information see  www.aircanada.com/action .

All customers whose flights are cancelled by Air Canada would be notified and will be eligible for a full refund, which can be obtained online at www.aircanada.com or through the Air Canada mobile app.

The airline has also been arranging with other carriers to secure space for customers in the event of Air Canada flight cancellations. Customers will be notified by Air Canada or their travel agency if options for travel on another carrier are identified for them. Unfortunately, seats on other carriers are expected to be very limited across all airlines, and refunds or accepting a future travel credit, or agreeing to travel on Air Canada at a later date, may be the only options available.

Since August 27 , Air Canada has had in place a goodwill policy allowing customers holding bookings on any fare type with travel between September 15 and 23, 2024 , to make changes if they wish to at no cost or to receive a credit for future travel. This policy will be expanded as warranted.

Under Canada's Airline Passenger Protection Regulations, customers in Canada are not eligible for compensation for delayed or cancelled flights, meals, hotels or other incidental expenses for situations outside the carrier's control such as a labour disruption. 1 Air Canada will in all cases inform passengers of their rights under applicable rules if their flight is cancelled or delayed.

Customers with bookings whose flights are cancelled in the event of a labour disruption are strongly advised against going to the airport without a confirmed booking for a new flight (check your flight's status on  www.aircanada.com before going to the airport). Customers are also advised to use self-service tools as contact centre wait times are expected to be highly elevated.

Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge presently operate close to 670 daily flights on average and carry more than 110,000 passengers within Canada or internationally. Every day, Air Canada flights bring about 24,000 Canadians back home from abroad and return about 15,000 foreigners visiting Canada to their home country.

Under the plan announced today to potentially suspend flying, an orderly wind down of operations would begin once a 72-hour strike or lock-out notice is issued, which can occur any time after 00:01 EDT on Sunday, September 15 . Flights throughout the system would be progressively cancelled over three days, with a complete shutdown as early as 00:01 EDT on Wednesday, September 18 . Some activities would need to start as early as Friday, September 13 , including the cancellation of some holiday packages and the grounding of some aircraft.

Air Canada projects that unless a settlement is achieved within the 72-hour notice period, the number of passengers affected by the suspension plan will increase progressively during the period to reach approximately 110,000 daily after 72 hours. A gradual shutdown is required because it is the only responsible way to manage such a labour disruption for customers and employees alike. Air Canada operates globally to 47 countries on six continents with a fleet of 252 aircraft, which will have to be repositioned or repatriated along with their crews. By optimally positioning aircraft ahead of a possible disruption, Air Canada will be able to more quickly restore regular service to customers having travel plans at that time. The aircraft will also be properly safeguarded and receive all necessary routine maintenance during this time.

Cargo operations will also be affected. Each day, Air Canada Cargo carries in the belly holds of its aircraft and air freighters perishable or live commercial goods, components for manufacturers, and other time-sensitive items for Canadians. Already, the airline has begun limiting acceptance of some of these goods given average shipment timelines.

In the event of a suspension of operations, Air Canada will make every effort to resume normal operations as quickly as possible once a settlement with ALPA is reached. It is estimated however it will take up to 7 to 10 days to do so after a complete shutdown.

Air Canada and ALPA negotiations

Air Canada and ALPA have been in discussions for 15 months. Although tentative agreement has been reached on a large number of items for a new collective agreement, the union remains inflexible on its unreasonable wage demands.

The company is committed to maintaining its pilots' historic position as the best paid commercial pilots in Canada and is continuing to negotiate to secure such an agreement.

Alternatively, it has offered to the union to submit to arbitration. To date, the Federal Labour Minister has assisted the negotiation process by appointing a conciliator and mediator, and if a negotiated settlement is not reached, Air Canada would look to the government to intervene, as it has in recent labour disputes, to avoid a major disruption for Canadian travellers and other stakeholders. A timeline of negotiations, backgrounders on the issues, pilot compensation and other information about the negotiations is available on our Media Centre .

Explore the Freedom Trail after dark. Lantern tours return.

It's almost fall, and that means being able to see Boston in a unique way through lantern tours on the Freedom Trail.

“The Freedom Trail welcomes the return of the annual lantern tours as well as historic sites’ crypt tours (for Halloween), which give visitors and residents the opportunity to experience true, lesser-known and dark, Boston history,” Suzanne Taylor, executive director of the Freedom Trail Foundation, said in a written statement. “These unique tours offer one-of-a-kind voyages through Boston’s most historical sites by lantern light."

How can you go on one of these tours? What, exactly, are crypt tours on the Freedom Trail? Here's everything you need to know.

What are Freedom Trail lantern tours?

These annual tours offer guests the opportunity to learn about local history and explore the Freedom Trail in Boston by lantern-light. Each tour lasts 90 minutes.

"Duels, the grave of a ruthless pirate, punishments of convicted witches and more: all real and explored on the Freedom Trail lantern tours," according to a release about the tours.

All of the lantern tours start on Boston Common and are led by guides dressed in 18th Century garments.

What are some of the locations featured on the tours?

Some of the stops on the tours include:

  • The Granary and King’s Chapel burying grounds (the final resting places of convicted pirates and others connected to Boston’s darker past).
  • The site of the Boston Massacre.
  • Old Gaol (old jail) , adjacent to the old State House.

When do the tours start? When does the season end?

The lantern-tour season runs from Sept. 12 until Oct. 26. There will also be tours on Oct. 30, but the season will close after that.

How much are tickets for the lantern tours?

Tickets cost $17 for adults, $15 for senior citizens and students, and $8 for children 12 and under.

"Purchase of a ticket includes a $1 donation to the Freedom Trail Foundation’s Preservation Fund, which helps support preservation projects at official Freedom Trail historic sites," according to a release.

Where can tickets be purchased?

Tickets are available at the Boston Common Visitor Information Center (9 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.) or online at TheFreedomTrail.org.

Where can more information be found?

You can call the Freedom Trail Foundation at 617-357-8300 or check out the Freedom Trail website at TheFreedomTrail.org.

Fall Foliage 2024: Plan Your Day Trips with this Interactive Map

Let the New England leaf-peeping preparation begin.

From day trips to weekend getaways, our biweekly Traveler newsletter shows you the best of New England and beyond.

canada tours october 2023

Map via SmokyMountains.com

Much like Rory’s grandpa Richard Gilmore , New England is the epitome of autumn. Summer is almost over (note: brat summer is officially done ) a nd while we’ll all be sad to bid farewell to trips to the beach, theme park outings, and glamping excursions , we’ll at least be transitioning to the very demure season of fall—arguably, the most New England of all seasons.

That means it’s the most wonderful time of the year to watch the trees change into vibrant hues of yellow, orange, and red. Good news for prospective leaf-peepers: SmokyMountains.com’s Fall Foliage Prediction Map is back to guide your autumn travel plans. A collaboration between the regional tourism site and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), this interactive and data-driven tool forecasts the progression of leaf-color changes across the United States. For most of New England, the map predicts patchy to partial change by September 16, with “near peak” to “peak” throughout the region around September 30 to October 7, 2024.

This year’s vibrant summer blooms of hydrangeas and magnolias have researchers optimistic for a similarly stunning display with the dying leaves. Yankee Magazine ‘s 2024 forecast —which factors in winter snowfall, drought conditions, rainfall, and other variables—predicts a “big show” due to the forest’s health and vitality. (Special thanks to foliage reporter Jim Salge, as always, for his annual analysis.)

With the crisp air, stunning foliage, picturesque landscapes, and charming towns—much like the fictional Stars Hollow—is there a region more perfect than New England in autumn? We think not.

Man arrested entering U.S. charged with plot to kill NY Jews on anniversary of Hamas attack

Portrait of Sarah D. Wire

WASHINGTON − Muhammad Shahzeb Khan, 20, a Pakistani citizen residing in Canada, was arrested and accused of attempting to enter the United States to carry out a mass shooting in support of ISIS at a Jewish center in Brooklyn, New York.

He was stopped by Canadian law enforcement approximately 12 miles from the U.S.-Canada border on Sept. 4, according to a complaint filed in the Southern District of New York. He is charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to a designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO), the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS).

"We are deeply grateful to our Canadian partners for their critical law enforcement actions in this matter. Jewish communities — like all communities in this country — should not have to fear that they will be targeted by a hate-fueled terrorist attack," Attorney General Merrick B. Garland said in a statement .

If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

According to the complaint, Khan began posting about his support for ISIS on social media and communicating with others on an encrypted messaging app around November 2023. That communication included distributing ISIS propaganda videos and literature. Soon after Khan began communicating with two undercover law enforcement officers, telling them that “Oct 7th and oct 11th are the best days for targeting the jews” because “oct 7 they will surely have some protests and oct 11 is yom.kippur.” According to the complaint, Khan initially planned to target a different, unnamed city, before turning his attention to New York.

Khan's arrest came on the same day that the U.S. Department of Justice announced it has charged six senior Hamas leaders for the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel.

Khan's case has not yet been entered into the federal court system database, and an attorney for him could not be identified. The United States has requested extradition, according to a news release.

Khan detailed plans for the attack to the undercover officers, including housing to rent and having a smuggler get him into the United States, according to the complaint. Khan also said he planned to work with an U.S.-based ISIS supporter, who is not named in the complaint, but that person backed out.

Khan encouraged the undercover officers to acquire AR-style rifles, ammunition, and other equipment including “some good hunting [knives] so we can slit their throats,” according to the complaint. Khan repeatedly reiterated his desire to carry out the attack in support of ISIS, noting that “if we succeed with our plan this would be the largest Attack on US soil since 9/11,” according to the complaint.

How to buy Taylor Swift tickets: Eras Tour dates and prices compared

When you buy through our links, Business Insider may earn an affiliate commission. Learn more

Taylor Swift's European tour dates have come to an end, but she'll start back up on the final leg of The Eras Tour in October. She finished her final London shows in August and will return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift released her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, and the Swiftie hype has continued throughout the summer.

  • See also: Olivia Rodrigo tickets | Gracie Abrams tickets |  Adele tickets  | Bruce Springsteen tickets | Stevie Nicks tickets

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. So far, Swift's tour has passed through various cities in the US, Europe, Australia, Latin America, and Asia, among other regions. As Swift approaches her last tour dates, which will see her take her final bow in Canada, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options. You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. European resale tickets tended to be a bit cheaper than North American resale tickets. Some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,661 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 6) to $2,322 (Indianapolis, Indiana, on November 2). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,600 and $2,300. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,899 and $2,625, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?

Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore opened for Swift. Earlier in the tour, Swift had Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, MUNA, HAIM, and more open for her.

Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift has already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations.

During her 100th show, a mid-June performance in Liverpool, Swift acknowledged that the tour would conclude in December. "The celebration of the 100th show for me means this is the very first time I've ever acknowledged to myself and admitted that this tour is going to end in December," Swift told the crowd in a moment that was widely captured and posted across social media. This statement means that the Eras Tour is unlikely to extend past 2024, but we'll keep this guide updated if Swift announces any changes (or additions) to her tour lineup.

Were any tour dates canceled?

Taylor Swift was originally scheduled to play three Eras Tour shows from August 9 to 11, 2024, in Vienna, Austria. However, the shows were canceled after Austrian officials confirmed that multiple individuals were  arrested on suspicion of planning an attack  at one of the shows. As of August 12, no other Eras Tours performances have been canceled.

Is The Tortured Poets Department a part of the Eras Tour?

It's good news for fans of "The Tortured Poets Department," Swift's most recent album that dropped on April 19, 2024. Swift is incorporating several of the new tracks into the Eras Tour, as evidenced by the first shows of her European leg. "The Tortured Poets Department" songs currently featured on tour include "But Daddy I Love Him," "So High School," "Down Bad," "Fortnight," "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me?," "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived," and "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart."

Since the Eras Tour is already pretty long, this means that Swift is also cutting down a few songs from past Eras that previously made the tour setlist. The songs that were removed from the setlist include "The Archer," "Long Live," "The 1," "The Last Great American Dynasty," "'Tis the Damn Season," and "Tolerate It."

Where can I stream The Eras Tour concert film?

If you'd rather watch The Eras Tour from home, you could always stream it on Disney+. Check out everything you need to know about streaming The Eras Tour concert film in our guide .

The final Eras Tour dates: Where to see Taylor Swift in US, Canada in 2024

T aylor Swift is bringing the Eras Tour to North America for one last victory lap that starts with three nights in Miami Gardens, Florida, the weekend of Oct. 18-20.

She’ll hit five venues on the final leg of a tour she launched at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona – or Swift City as Glendale rebranded itself (albeit symbolically) for the opening weekend — with a 44-song journey through her catalog on March 17, 2023.

The Eras Tour has since become the highest-grossing tour of all time and the  first tour in history to generate more than $1 billion  in revenue.

There’s a concert film, naturally. Released in theaters worldwide on Oct. 13, 2023, "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" quickly overtook a Justin Bieber movie to become the  highest-grossing concert film in history .

Following The Eras Tour launch, Swift immediately shot to  No. 1 on Pollstar's Artist Power Index chart , ending 2023 as  Time magazine’s perfectly obvious choice for Person of the Year .

Prince edward island stuns in fall with festivals, foliage and more.

It may be the smallest of Canada’s 10 provinces (think Rhode Island, but marginally bigger), but what Prince Edward Island (PEI) lacks in size it more than makes up for in stature.

Situated off the east coast to the north of Nova Scotia, PEI was originally home to the Mi’kmaq people who called the island ‘Epekwitk (it means “resting on the waves”). By the 1720s French settlers had renamed it Île Saint-Jean before, inevitably, the Brits turned up. Capturing the island in 1758 during the Seven Years’ War, they renamed it St. John’s Island before changing it again to Prince Edward Island after the son of King George III and soon-to-be father of Queen Victoria.

Today, PEI is home to around 177,000 people but in the peak season from June to September, the influx of tourists eager to sample everything this picture-postcard island has to offer can see that double.

Perhaps the first thing you’ll notice about PEI are the lighthouses — they’re everywhere. In fact, there are 63 in total with 35 still in use and nine of them open to the public. The oldest on the island is Point Prim, which dates back to 1845.

For many, though, PEI will be best known for its association with Lucy Maud Montgomery, author of the beloved novel, “Anne of Green Gables.” A publishing phenomenon, the story of 11-year-old orphan Anne Shirley, first published in 1908. has since been translated into over 30 languages and sold over 50 million copies worldwide.

Montgomery was born and lived her entire life on PEI and this November will see the 150th anniversary of her birth, an occasion that the Royal Canadian Mint have marked with a special $1 commemorative coin.

Today, you can enjoy Montgomery-themed literary tours, taking in some of the spots that inspired her and her most famous characters, but the best place to start is the L.M. Montgomery’s Cavendish National Historic Site of Canada on the north shore.

A building with a sign in Avonlea Village, Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, taken in September 2022

It’s home to both the Green Gables Heritage Place (the setting for the novel) and Montgomery’s home.

There’s even an Avonlea Village (the fictitious name Montgomery gave to her hometown of Cavendish in “Anne of Green Gables”) and living museum, complete with the original schoolhouse she once taught in, the Minister’s residence and many other replica houses based on those featured in the book. It’s free admission, too.

The other thing that PEI is rightly proud of is its unparalleled seafood. The island is renowned for it, especially its oysters, lobsters and mussels, all of which are abundant in its chilly waters.

A person holding a ladle over a pot of soup at the PEI International Shellfish Festival

Every September, it hosts the annual PEI International Shellfish Festival in the capital, Charlottetown. It’s a four-day feast showcasing the many culinary delights the island has to offer and features demonstrations, tastings, live music and contests like the Potato Chowder Championship and the Oyster Shucking Championship. Think Woodstock with whelks.

If you need to work off some of that seafood, then take on the Confederation Trail.

Created out of the island’s abandoned railways lines, it was developed in the 1990s and now boasts over 290 miles of trails for walkers or hikers, runners or cyclists. It’s the ideal way to take in everything PEI has to offer, from its rugged cliffs and coastline to its beautiful shores — Cavendish Beach is a must — and the many quaint fishing villages like Summerside and Victoria-by-the-Sea. It’s a distillation of all the reasons Montgomery loved PEI so much.

“You never know what peace is until you walk on the shores or in the field or along the winding red roads of Prince Edward Island in a summer twilight…You find your soul then.” she wrote.
