What Our Customers Say!

A great time.

The trail we chose was above our off road driving skill level and we put a scratch in the UTV, the owner was very fair with us only charging us for a small decal. We appreciated his honesty. The views were incredible and the adventure unforgettable! I highly recommend this company.

Highly recommend

Highly recommend Estes Park ATV Rentals for your off road rentals! Staff is very friendly and they are great to work with!

Great Way to Explore RMNP

We rented a jeep from here to explore RMNP as we had driven an RV on our trip and wanted to be able to have a better view of the mountains. Was a fun ride with great views. Jeep handled the winding mountain roads with no problem. Directions from staff were excellent, jeep in great condition. Had no problems renting from here. Thanks for a great day of exploring!

Great Family Fun!

From the booking to the guides in the field we were blessed to be dealing with some trustworthy people! The equipment was the best and the guys in the field were just great! I’ll recommend it to all my friends back home. Estes park has become our favorite place to come!

She said YES!

We had an excellent adventure through the trails! The trails had lots of cool rocks but none like the one i had in my pocket! I took her up to the sightseeing lookout on the top of the mountain and popped the question……she said yes! It was breathtaking!!!!!!!!

Great Adventure!

Estes Park ATV Rentals was the funniest part of our Colorado Vacation. The staff was absolutely friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. They made you feel at ease, welcome and made you feel a good adventure was about to begin. They started off with informative safety briefs and the rules of the road. We drove about 30 minutes to the Bunch School area to ride. Tim and Jaydon helped pack the UTV Polaris Razor with our cooler and backpack full of lunch. These guys were amazing and friendly which made us feel welcome. The new machines drove incredibly good through the difficult terrain on the hard parts of the trail. Again my wife Amy and I would like to thank the company and staff for a great time!

Age doesnt matter

For most of us being up there in years age doesn’t matter. Had the best time ever.

Honorable Business

First I will say our entire party had a great time. Had a mix up with our reservation and they were great in working with us and honoring the customer. Thank you. We will definitely so this again!

Our fun time

Me and my boys had a great time that we will never forget. At there age it’s hard to find stuff we have in common but this was a great idea!I recommend this to all my friends. Thanks guys

Challenging trails

We were here for USAFA Parent weekend. We book our 4 person ATV. They made it easy for us to book. We have done ATV in the past. They offer military discount and thank us for our service. We drive up the trail to the T-33 crash site. Once we got on the trail leading up to it the course was very challenging. Both my boys love the drive up. Thank you, We will be back

What a great time!

We had such a great time hitting the trails after renting with Este Park ATV Rentals! The staff was great and found a way to work us in even though we showed up the morning we wanted to go riding! We enjoyed the trails on Bunce Rd and wI’ll definitely go back again! Thanks for everything!

BEST HONEYMOON ADVENTURE

My wife and I absolutely loved this off-road experience. Seriously, it was intense. Trail riding for all experience levels and a beyond friendly staff that was supporting us. Definitely will come back and do this again!

Great Time!

Our overall experience was great and we had a blast despite the rain and hail; can’t wait to come back!

Scary good time !!

What an adventure! My wife was hesitant for safety reasons but this company explained everything up front and was very specific about all details to ensure a safe, exciting ride. The machines are powerful and can go over anything in their paths. Fun for all ages!

Awesome day on Trails!

It was a great park to ride. Trails were rugged and not a easy stroll. My teenagers had a blast. Beautiful scenery and staff was awesome. We went early and felt like we had the mountain to ourselves. Would definitely do it again.

Best People!

We were VERY impressed with the customer service, we called some other companies , but chose Estes Park ATV rentals because their staff were the nicest to speak with. They got is all taken care of in the office, and once we reached Bunce, the guys up there were very knowledgeable and got us out on our ride as quick as possible after all the necessary safety instructions and explanation on how to drive the machines.. When we return to Estes Park, we WILL be using this company again! Thanks for the memorable adventure, and for many more adventures in the future! And thanks.for having chill, cool staff!

Colo-RAD-ical!!!

From start to finish our experience was amazing! The office staff were kind and courteous and got us on the road quickly with put helmets and good directions. When we arrived at the trail, our instructors were quick, courteous, and funny as they described how to be safe on the trails but still have fun. It was a chilly , snowy day, and we didn’t bring enough clothes, so the trail host let us borrow some gloves, a coat, and a beanie that was his personal items. This company went above and beyond to give us a good experience, and we had the best time of pur lives. The highlight of the day was going up 216 (the hard trail) The machine made it through the rocky, snowy trail with ease. The machines are well maintained and do a great job. We will DEFINATELY book with this amazing company for future trips!

Great place to do business

The owners are great, nice machines and good prices. We will definitely continue business with them.

Amazing Time

This is an amazing time and the staff was so much fun and very knowledgeable and friendly. We had the best time. Planning on another trip and this is # one on our to do list. Thanks for the adventure!!

Awesome Folks

Our family had a great time. Everyone from the office to the trail were super nice and very helpful. Trails were well marked and the maps were very helpful.

Overall Experience Was Great

The overall experience was great for an Aussies first time visit to Estes Park. Weather was below freezing, majestic views and 2 brand new Kawasaki ATVs Which absolutely suited the icy terrain. Very friendly at checkin and out in the field. Recommend to anyone in either winter or summer.

Trail Was Awesome

We came up to Estes Park for a weekend retreat for our alumni group. We were looking to surprise the group with a fun activity and found Estes Park ATV Rentals and it was PERFECT! Shortly before we got there we told everyone what we were doing and they were so excited! We rented the 4-person ATV’s and went up on Bunce School Rd. (the only one open during winter season). The trail was awesome and kept us exploring the whole time. It was a great bonding experience for all of us and something we’ll never forget! It has set the bar high for planning our next group activities. Can’t wait to come back in the summer time and do this again!

They Are Nice People That Make You Feel Welcome!

It’s one of the best places that you can rent an ATV from! They are nice people that make you feel welcome!! If I am renting an ATV again, definitely I will rent from them.

It Was the Highlight of Our 7 Day Stay

Amazing experience. It was so so cold and the trail head host was nice enough to let my 3 year old have his jacket as a blanket. equipment is top notch .No complaints at all. Both kids passed out about halfway through the ride. Thank you again, it was the highlight of our 7 day stay.

Had a blast! From dust to river-in-trail to rocky, even the 7 year old loved it! We came back dusty, dirty and best of all, with big grins! Very safe and easy system to navigate. Directions good, staff courteous, and equipment good! Thank you for making a family fun day on our vacation! Blessings…….

Staff Was Great

One of the funest times ever!!! And the staff was great to work with, awsome machines!!! You won’t regret going there!!!

Newest Equipment

This is the best place to rent from hands down. If you want the newest equipment for the best price these are the guys. They don’t mess around with filling the tanks half full and make you worry if your going to make it back or not. I have rode pretty well all of the trails and they are number one. Pick your helmet up go over safety and take a quick ride to the trailhead.

Compliance status

We firmly believe that the internet should be available and accessible to anyone, and are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, regardless of circumstance and ability.

To fulfill this, we aim to adhere as strictly as possible to the World Wide Web Consortium’s (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) at the AA level. These guidelines explain how to make web content accessible to people with a wide array of disabilities. Complying with those guidelines helps us ensure that the website is accessible to all people: blind people, people with motor impairments, visual impairment, cognitive disabilities, and more.

This website utilizes various technologies that are meant to make it as accessible as possible at all times. We utilize an accessibility interface that allows persons with specific disabilities to adjust the website’s UI (user interface) and design it to their personal needs.

Additionally, the website utilizes an AI-based application that runs in the background and optimizes its accessibility level constantly. This application remediates the website’s HTML, adapts Its functionality and behavior for screen-readers used by the blind users, and for keyboard functions used by individuals with motor impairments.

If you’ve found a malfunction or have ideas for improvement, we’ll be happy to hear from you. You can reach out to the website’s operators by using the following email

Screen-reader and keyboard navigation

Our website implements the ARIA attributes (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) technique, alongside various different behavioral changes, to ensure blind users visiting with screen-readers are able to read, comprehend, and enjoy the website’s functions. As soon as a user with a screen-reader enters your site, they immediately receive a prompt to enter the Screen-Reader Profile so they can browse and operate your site effectively. Here’s how our website covers some of the most important screen-reader requirements, alongside console screenshots of code examples:

Screen-reader optimization: we run a background process that learns the website’s components from top to bottom, to ensure ongoing compliance even when updating the website. In this process, we provide screen-readers with meaningful data using the ARIA set of attributes. For example, we provide accurate form labels; descriptions for actionable icons (social media icons, search icons, cart icons, etc.); validation guidance for form inputs; element roles such as buttons, menus, modal dialogues (popups), and others. Additionally, the background process scans all the website’s images and provides an accurate and meaningful image-object-recognition-based description as an ALT (alternate text) tag for images that are not described. It will also extract texts that are embedded within the image, using an OCR (optical character recognition) technology. To turn on screen-reader adjustments at any time, users need only to press the Alt+1 keyboard combination. Screen-reader users also get automatic announcements to turn the Screen-reader mode on as soon as they enter the website.

These adjustments are compatible with all popular screen readers, including JAWS and NVDA.

Keyboard navigation optimization: The background process also adjusts the website’s HTML, and adds various behaviors using JavaScript code to make the website operable by the keyboard. This includes the ability to navigate the website using the Tab and Shift+Tab keys, operate dropdowns with the arrow keys, close them with Esc, trigger buttons and links using the Enter key, navigate between radio and checkbox elements using the arrow keys, and fill them in with the Spacebar or Enter key.Additionally, keyboard users will find quick-navigation and content-skip menus, available at any time by clicking Alt+1, or as the first elements of the site while navigating with the keyboard. The background process also handles triggered popups by moving the keyboard focus towards them as soon as they appear, and not allow the focus drift outside it.

Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Disability profiles supported in our website

  • Epilepsy Safe Mode: this profile enables people with epilepsy to use the website safely by eliminating the risk of seizures that result from flashing or blinking animations and risky color combinations.
  • Visually Impaired Mode: this mode adjusts the website for the convenience of users with visual impairments such as Degrading Eyesight, Tunnel Vision, Cataract, Glaucoma, and others.
  • Cognitive Disability Mode: this mode provides different assistive options to help users with cognitive impairments such as Dyslexia, Autism, CVA, and others, to focus on the essential elements of the website more easily.
  • ADHD Friendly Mode: this mode helps users with ADHD and Neurodevelopmental disorders to read, browse, and focus on the main website elements more easily while significantly reducing distractions.
  • Blindness Mode: this mode configures the website to be compatible with screen-readers such as JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack. A screen-reader is software for blind users that is installed on a computer and smartphone, and websites must be compatible with it.
  • Keyboard Navigation Profile (Motor-Impaired): this profile enables motor-impaired persons to operate the website using the keyboard Tab, Shift+Tab, and the Enter keys. Users can also use shortcuts such as “M” (menus), “H” (headings), “F” (forms), “B” (buttons), and “G” (graphics) to jump to specific elements.

Additional UI, design, and readability adjustments

  • Font adjustments – users, can increase and decrease its size, change its family (type), adjust the spacing, alignment, line height, and more.
  • Color adjustments – users can select various color contrast profiles such as light, dark, inverted, and monochrome. Additionally, users can swap color schemes of titles, texts, and backgrounds, with over seven different coloring options.
  • Animations – person with epilepsy can stop all running animations with the click of a button. Animations controlled by the interface include videos, GIFs, and CSS flashing transitions.
  • Content highlighting – users can choose to emphasize important elements such as links and titles. They can also choose to highlight focused or hovered elements only.
  • Audio muting – users with hearing devices may experience headaches or other issues due to automatic audio playing. This option lets users mute the entire website instantly.
  • Cognitive disorders – we utilize a search engine that is linked to Wikipedia and Wiktionary, allowing people with cognitive disorders to decipher meanings of phrases, initials, slang, and others.
  • Additional functions – we provide users the option to change cursor color and size, use a printing mode, enable a virtual keyboard, and many other functions.

Browser and assistive technology compatibility

We aim to support the widest array of browsers and assistive technologies as possible, so our users can choose the best fitting tools for them, with as few limitations as possible. Therefore, we have worked very hard to be able to support all major systems that comprise over 95% of the user market share including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari, Opera and Microsoft Edge, JAWS and NVDA (screen readers).

Notes, comments, and feedback

Despite our very best efforts to allow anybody to adjust the website to their needs. There may still be pages or sections that are not fully accessible, are in the process of becoming accessible, or are lacking an adequate technological solution to make them accessible. Still, we are continually improving our accessibility, adding, updating and improving its options and features, and developing and adopting new technologies. All this is meant to reach the optimal level of accessibility, following technological advancements. For any assistance, please reach out to

Camp Hale/Vail ATV Tour (Leadville CO)

Fighting Nazis – History With A View

ATV Tours Colorado: Camp Hale

Camp Hale is a popular ATV destination . Located at 9,200 feet, the camp is a large wide open valley surrounded by mountains. It’s located in the White River National Forest with miles of trails that take you into the mountains.

You can reach 12,000’ peaks while riding through forests, mountains and beautiful alpine meadows.

Camp Hale is a real slice of history. Established during WWII in 1942, this army base at one time housed 15,000 soldiers. Camp Hale trained the 10 th  Mountain Division, a branch of the US army trained specifically for mountaineous and arctic conditions.

Soldiers were trained in mountain climbing, cold weather survival, weapons and explosives. The soldiers were part of a national effort to create an elite ski corps with advanced Alpine and Nordic skiing skills.

ATV Tours In Colorado: Vail

At one point it also held 400 Nazi prisoners of war from the German Afrika Corps. In a bit of a scandal, two German Sergeants escaped with the help of a US Private. Thankfully they were caught in Mexico and turned over to the US.

Although this base only existed from 1942 to 1945, it was a big part of the war time effort.

Most of the building and remains of the camp have long been removed, but there are some foundations and other remnants of it’s past.

Nova Guides offers Colorado ATV & SxS tours that include hotel pick up, 2 hours of trail time and lunch at McAllister’s Grill, their resort located at Camp Hale. They also offers rentals so you can head out on your own.

The Most Picturesque Tour: The Scenic Rocky Mountains

April 24, 2024 admin

Featured image for post: The Most Picturesque Tour: The Scenic Rocky Mountains

Very little compares to the scenic views of the Rocky Mountains. Colorado’s stretch of the Continental Divide is equally renowned for its stunning natural beauty and remarkably easy access – making it the perfect place for a motorized outdoor adventure!

ATV Tours Colorado proudly hosts the ride of a lifetime, traversing historic mining trails flanked by life-affirming natural beauty and awe-inspiring wildlife in Rocky Mountain National Park. If you’re looking for a storybook wilderness escape, you’ve come to exactly the right place.

Experience the Incomparable Beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains

Our ATV and other motorized tours bring you straight to the heart of the most stunning mountain landscapes and breathtaking scenic views. The Colorado Rocky Mountains are widely considered the best mountain views in the US of A due to their dynamic, jutting peaks, year-round snow caps, and endless evergreen expanse.

A baseline of pleasant weather also bolsters the Colorado Rockies’ iconic status. Here, you’re as likely to experience a crisp, cool summer breeze as an oddly out-of-place warm winter afternoon. Add to it a living tapestry of wildflowers, aspen groves, and towering pines, and you’ll see firsthand what tourists from around the world rave about.

The wildlife in Rocky Mountain National Park is equally humbling. Just a short drive west of Denver, our stretch of wilderness hosts a magnificent array of mule deer, bighorn sheep, and birds of prey to marvel. Of course, seeing them on a given tour depends equally on the season and the luck of the draw.

Tour Options for Exploring the Rocky Mountains in All Their Glory

ATV Tours Colorado offers a 5-star experience with several guided and self-guided tours. We offer several wilderness getaways to choose from, including:

  • Group ATV tours along the historic Silver Creek mining trail. Led by experienced guides and riding instructors, our hallmark ATV tours feature spectacular scenic views that are nearly impossible to look away from as you learn the eye-opening history of America’s western expansion. Single and double ATVs are available.
  • Group UTV tours , suitable for riding with your family or entourage (including children too young to ride solo).
  • Self-guided electric mountain bike tours (no motorcycle license needed!), enabling riders to traverse more variable terrain, or even just go the standard route at their own steady pace.

We also adapt our tour options to varying skill and ability levels. Depending on the experience and comfort levels of those in your group, we may be able to spend less time training and more time hitting the trail.

Alternately, we’ve designed our tours to be incredibly beginner-friendly, which is why we offer thorough safety and riding instructions. Before we set off, our guides/training coaches provide hands-on training at our compound in Dumont, Colorado. Above all, we emphasize safety to help riders of any level have a fun, injury-free off-roading experience – even if it’s their first time.

ATV Tours Colorado: Your Ultimate Outdoor Adventure Partner!

Even locals remark that you just don’t experience the scenic views and wildlife in Rocky Mountain National Park like you do when you go off-road and get up close and personal. There’s no better way than with a fully curated ATV tour, perfectly suited for any of:

  • Family outings
  • Corporate events
  • Bachelor or bachelorette parties
  • History buffs
  • Nature and wildlife lovers

Of course, you don’t need an excuse to book a ride through some of Colorado’s (and possibly even the world’s! ) most stunning and accessible natural terrain. Please contact us with any ATV tour questions , or book a group ride for a sense-enlivening mountain adventure!

ATV Noise in Rocky Mountain National Park

It’s also helpful to be aware of Rocky Mountain National Park’s position on the noise produced by ATVs:

“Park soundscapes are part of a web of natural and cultural resources protected by the National Park Service (NPS). The acoustic environment is a resource that NPS protects, just like air or water. Parks are actively working to minimize noise pollution from many sources, both internal and external. Noise can adversely impact wildlife by reducing the area over which they can communicate and listen for potential prey or predators. Natural sounds are also important to park visitors, 90 percent of whom say enjoying the sounds of nature is one of the top reasons they visit parks.”

The best trails and areas in the Rockies for ATVs.

Taking an ATV or off-road vehicle deep into the wilderness can be an enlivening experience, and there's nowhere better than near Rocky Mountain National Park. As you get off the beaten path for some real outdoors fun, you'll discover that the Rocky Mountains hold miles of fascinating trails.

Although no ATVs are allowed within the confines of Rocky Mountain National Park, there are plenty of trails all around the park that you can ride to take in the scenery and the forested hills and valleys.

Estes Park, CO

Only one and a half hours outside of Denver, and right on the edge of the National Park is Estes Park, a virtual paradise for the off-road lover. The Roosevelt National Forest is minutes away and holds excitement for an ATV adventure. My favorite part of this area is that you can venture deep into the woods, away from the crowds.

Estes Park, Colorado has plenty of ATV rentals in case you don't have your own. And the kids can rent the smaller ATVs so they can drive their own. A simple place to start is Johnny Park Road. Part of this trail is great for beginners. Spend a wonderful 1.5 hours exploring side roads. Of course other parts are more difficult, and you may come upon some rock ledges to navigate. High-clearance four-wheel-drives can also make it on this trail.

The Pierson Park Road is for the intermediate rider. It runs parallel to Highway 7 from Estes Park. This scenic road takes you into some rough terrain, and gets fairly steep in places. It's eight miles of some thrilling riding.

Another intermediate challenge is Pole Hill, a short drive from Estes Park. Great views await you here with no big obstacles. You'll find a variety of terrain. There's limited parking at the start of the trail, so be sure to get there early.

If you like to stop occasionally and take in the incredible vistas, you'll love Storm Mountain. East of Galuchie Meadow, you'll find a network of roads through the forested landscape. With only one really rough spot, beginners will do well here.

Grand Lake, CO

Only 46 miles from Estes Park is another gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Lake, Colorado. You won't have any trouble finding ATV rentals here, as this is a most popular sport in this area. Take Trail Ridge Road from Estes Park through Rocky Mountain National Park. It's on the west side of the park.

The national forest lands surround you and provide plenty of opportunity to ride to your heart's content. Hundreds of miles of beauty and adventure! If you want to really make a day of it, sign up for a guided tour and learn to explore the right way.

North Supply Creek could end up on the top of your list, as it is on mine. They have separate trails just for the ATVs and dirt bikes, which makes it nice. You get about 11 miles of riding with different options as to skill and aptitude.

Want to take a relaxing drive with lake and mountain views? Try Stillwater Pass for the best ride with a well-graded trail for the most part. It climbs up and up – to over 10,600 feet.

Allenspark, CO

Allenspark is on the southeastern edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. From Estes Park, you head south on Highway 7. There is easy access for all sorts of ATV trails here, and for any level of skill.

I highly recommend taking a ride through the aspens and pine tree forests outside of Allenspark. If you are a beginner, start with the Bunce School trail. This is a simple five-mile drive, including some sightseeing. You can stop and check out the old Bunce School, a historic nineteenth-century schoolhouse.

If you like to do some stream crossings for added adventure, you can take the Middle St. Vrain trail from Camp Dick (Highway 72 through Peaceful Valley). When you reach the end, you'll find great places to hike and some fishing spots where you can throw in a line.

With so many lovely National Forests surrounding, you're sure to find the ATV experience you desire near Rocky Mountain National Park.
