In-person tours, campus tour, self-guided campus tour, virtual tours, live virtual tour with tour guide, frequently asked questions.

Prospective students are defined as the following:

  • High school students grade 9-12 (or equivalent)
  • High school graduate with no college work
  • Transfer students
  • Admitted students
  • International students
  • Graduate students

A prospective student may only bring 2 guests on a tour. If you have other prospective students, please register them separately. Additional guests can also participate in a self-guided walking tour. For further accommodations, please give us a call at 801-422-1280 .

You can schedule a live virtual tour! On this tour, one of our tour guides will show you campus and introduce you to the BYU experience.

We offer group tours to the following groups:

  • Elementary school classes
  • Middle school/junior high classes
  • High school classes
  • Church/youth groups
  • Other groups

Please keep in mind that group tours require chaperones. For students K-8, you will need to bring 1 chaperone for every 10 students. For students 9-12, you will need 1 chaperone for every 15 students.

Tours should be scheduled prior to your visit. In-person tours leave every other hour and are available Monday through Friday. The first tour leaves at 10 a.m. and the final tour leaves at 4 p.m.

Tours are 60 minutes long, and will allow you to do the following:

  • Tour campus either on a golf cart or walking
  • Admission application
  • Campus resources
  • Student life

One-hour parking is available at the Hinckley Center visitor's parking lot . Before your tour, you will need to ask the Hinckley Center receptionist for a pass to hang on your rearview mirror.

If the Hinckley Center visitor's parking is full, or you plan to stay longer than an hour on campus, additional parking is located at the Museum of Art visitor's parking lot .

Remember to give yourself an appropriate amount of time to find a parking space.

We try to accommodate all our tours with golf carts, but this is not a guarantee. Please be prepared to do a walking tour if golf carts are not available. Groups of eight or more will be walking tours.

Both the golf cart tour and walking tour have the same content, just a different mode of transportation! Your tour guide will take you through BYU campus delivering the same information whether walking on campus or riding on a golf cart. Please note that golf carts are not guaranteed, even when booking a golf cart tour.

Dance Alliance Performance Tour

Brigham Young University-Idaho is pleased to announce the 2024 Dance Alliance performance tour to Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, and Michigan. Comprised of 28 highly skilled dancers, Dance Alliance is the elite performance dance company at BYU-Idaho. Their 2024 tour will showcase hit songs from the Beatles, in celebration of the 60 th Anniversary of the Beatles’ arrival in America.

Featuring a wide range of styles and techniques, Dance Alliance performances are a delight to all! The program highlights an impressive variety of ballet, ballroom, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, foot works and world dance, all expertly coupled with exciting costumes, compelling music, and masterful choreography. Company members are tutored by master teachers and professional dancers and are prepared to teach workshops or provide demonstrations. They look forward to every opportunity to share their talent.

Since its creation in 1978, the company has toured throughout the United States and in many countries around the world, including Canada, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Panama, Peru, Brazil, Austria, Belarus, Ukraine, Russia, New Zealand, and Fiji.

BYU Legacy: A Journey Through Time and Tradition   

  • This entertaining and informative 40-minute outdoor campus cart tour explores Brigham Young University’s rich spiritual and academic heritage, the vast campus and historical buildings where tens of thousands gather every year to seek learning by study and by faith, and the Spirit of the Y, which makes BYU one of the most unique universities in all the world.

Inside the Game: Exploring BYU Athletics   

  • This one-of-a-kind 60-minute tour invites campus guests to get up close to BYU’s iconic sports venues and modern athletic facilities including LaVell Edwards Stadium , the Marriott Center Annex , and the Miller Park baseball-softball complex . University Relations Campus Ambassadors take you back in time connecting BYU’s underlying academic mission with its athletic goals and pursuits while highlighting past and present individual student-athlete and team success.

University visitors are hosted by an experienced student Campus Ambassador, and the golf cart tours run on the hour from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. during Monday through Friday. *Please note, golf carts have a limit of 7 passengers.
