The Wiggles set to hit the road again in 2022

The Wiggles could be back on the road in the first half of 2022, with Emma Watkins saying the group are keen to start performing live again.

Like the rest of Australia, the music group - who are celebrating 30 years entertaining children - have been in lockdown relying on FaceTime and Zoom calls to meet with fans.

"Live performance has been such a big part of The Wiggles for the last 30 years, it does feel bizarre not being on the road," Emma told Today.

"We're looking forward to coming out very soon and travel and meet families all around the world, hopefully, but Australia first, we can't wait."

Emma says the group will hopefully start touring again in the first half of 2022 and the group wants to visit every state and territory in the country.

"When the borders open, hopefully that will be okay. It will have to be pending restrictions and the rest, but for us it is such a big part of our history and our lives," she said.

"We've had so many children and families write to us on social media waiting to come to the shows and actually making signs in preparation and anticipation for the tour.

"We can't wait to see everybody there."

Emma said the group are all working on their choreography and the boys have been working really hard on their ballet skills and using online dance lessons to brush up.

"We're constantly working on their dance training. Even though we're in lockdown, they need to do online dance classes and make sure they point their toes," Emma laughed.

Big Red Car Tour (partially found footage of The Wiggles concert tour; 1995-1996)

Promo photo from the Big Red Car album shoot

Status: Partially Found

Big Red Car is the fifth album by the Australian children's band The Wiggles [1] [2] that was released on February 20, 1995 [3] and it's video counterpart (their third video overall) would be released eight months later. The album would feature the debut of both the titular Big Red Car and a new character Wags The Dog and both continue to appear in various pieces of Wiggles media to this day. The album and video would also mark the last time Anthony would wear a green shirt, as starting with the previous releases of the Yummy Yummy album and video, he would wear a blue shirt and eventually, the blue skivvy and continues to wear the blue skivvy to this day. The group would go out on a tour to support the album not long after it's release and the tour would mark the first to have it's concerts recorded.

While details on the tour are scarce, what is know is that it commenced on March 6, 1995 at the Albert Hall in Canberra, Australia and wrapped on January 9, 1996 at the Dallas Brooks Hall in Melbourne, Australia, with performances at Kidz Fest '95, Carols in the Domain and New Year's Eve at Darling Harbour also taking place during the tour [4] . The tour would mark the only time the title track and Hat On My Head would be performed and the debuts of several concert main-stays like Dorothy's Dance Party, I'm a Cow, Wags The Dog and Nicky Nacky Nocky Noo and most famously Can You (Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?). The titular Big Red Car would also make it's first on-stage appearance, pre-dating it's appearance as a fully-motorized vehicle in 1997. Their December 18-21, 1995 shows at the Seymour Centre in Sydney and January 8-9, 1996 shows at the Dallas Brooks Hall in Melbourne were named "The Wiggles' Happy Holiday Show" and these concerts would feature new songs from their yet-to-be released Wake Up Jeff! album like the title track, Five Little Ducks and Henry's Underwater Big Band [5] and would feature the "Magic Box" that would be seen in the video of the same name to introduce Can You (Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?). Though unconfirmed, the songs Everybody Is Clever and We Like To Say Hello are rumored to have also been performed at these concerts.

Availability

The tour would be the group's first to have it's concerts recorded (exact number of concerts that were recorded or when they were recorded are unknown). The first glimpse of footage the public would see from the tour is during a segment of the Australian lifestyle program Healthy, Wealthy and Wise in November 1995. The footage is taken from their performance at an unknown church in Blackburn sometime in April 1995. Although it's unlikely The Wiggles still have the footage of the concert that was shown in Healthy, Wealthy and Wise, it may still exist in the Network Ten archives. Further footage from the tour would be seen at the end of the Wake Up Jeff! video that was released in August 1996, location of this footage is unknown. The songs shown were Can You (Point Your Fingers And Do The Twist?) and D.O.R.O.T.H.Y. (My Favourite Dinosaur). Since they lost the masters to the Wake Up Jeff! video (to which they uploaded a VHS copy of the video to their YouTube channel), it's likely they lost the masters to this concert as well. On June 13, 2022, a brief clip from one of the Happy Holiday Shows was used in a RNZ report on the original lineup's upcoming tour in New Zealand. Clips from other concerts on the tour have surfaced over the years with the majority of them showing up in news reports or interviews, but no full performances have surfaced.

BRET MICHAELS: POISON Will 'Do Another Big Stadium And Arena Tour In 2025'

During a February 25 question-and-answer session aboard the Rock Legends Cruise XI , Bret Michaels spoke about POISON 's plans to regroup for more shows following the band's 2022 participation in "The Stadium Tour" alongside MÖTLEY CRÜE , DEF LEPPARD and Joan Jett . he said: "When we go back, I think in 2025, it's always been, to me, all-original POISON . We'll have C.C [ DeVille , guitar] and Bobby [ Dall , bass] and Rikki [ Rockett , drums] and myself and go do another big stadium tour and arena tour in 2025."

Regarding his motivation for going back out on the road with POISON after spending most of his time touring with his solo band, Bret said: "We've known each other since we've been in junior high school… I wouldn't be here without Bobby or Rikki or C.C. And then, as you go along, we've been together a long time — still great friends. If anyone saw 'The Stadium Tour' , that was a party. And when you're out there with that DEF LEPPARD and MÖTLEY and Joan , you're talking A-plus awesomeness. And we just came out and brought it.

"For me, what it is, we do about a couple of years solo, and then we'll go out and do 35 or 40 dates with POISON ," he explained. "And we set it up, we schedule it."

POISON 's long-delayed North American trek with DEF LEPPARD , MÖTLEY CRÜE and JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS was originally planned for 2020 and later moved to 2021 and then to 2022.

In 2018, POISON completed the "Nothin' But A Good Time" tour with CHEAP TRICK and POP EVIL .

POISON 's last album of new material was 2002's "Hollyweird" . An album of covers, "Poison'd" , followed in 2007.

Back in 2018, Dall said that POISON "should" be making a new studio album but claimed that he didn't know if it would happen. "I'm not going to bullshit you and say there's any [new music] in the process [of being made]," he told All That Shreds . "Would I like there to be? Yes. But, it's a matter of everyone having the time. Everybody in the band has other commitments. Some members have younger children than others. So between those two issues, it's difficult, and, you know, [there are] health issues as we get older. Should we be making a new record? Yes, definitely. But will it happen? I don't know."

In a 2017 interview, Rikki acknowledged that part of the reason the band hasn't been motivated to work on new music has been the fact that fans rarely show interest in hearing fresh material performed live when classic rock groups go on tour. "We could write the second coming of 'Talk Dirty To Me' , and I don't know if people wanna hear it or not, and that's a frustrating thing; it really is," he said. " AEROSMITH was able to do it, but not everybody is. I mean, even THE ROLLING STONES have had problems with that in the last few years. So… I don't know. But I do think it's important to stay viable. For the 'über fans,' it's always a really, really good thing. And that's what you do it for — you do it for you, you do it for the real fans, the real true fans."

More recently, Rockett admitted that he and other members of POISON harbored some resentment toward Michaels , whose frequent tours as a solo artist caused the band to take a five-year break from the road.

"I think we need to get away from each other and do other things, but at the same time, I think he spent a little too much time away," Rockett said. "There's definitely some resentment, but not resentment like I want him to fail. I want him to do good. I just want POISON to be important too, and I would like [him] to put a little more energy into POISON ."

Taylor Swift manifested her future.

On Sunday night, the pop star surprised Eras Tour concert-goers in Lyon, France with a mashup of “Fifteen” and “You’re On Your Own, Kid.”

While singing the chorus from the hit song off “Fearless,” fans noticed that Swift couldn’t contain her excitement while mentioning a once-made-up relationship with a football player.

“But in your life, you’ll do things greater than / Dating the boy on the football team,” she sang through her smile. “But I didn’t know it at fifteen.”

In a video shared on X , the 34-year-old could be seen blushing and giggling as the crowd erupted into cheers at the line, which draws parallels to her romance with Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce.

“shut up her smile during ‘you’ll do greater things than dating the boy on the football team,'” one fan wrote.

“Turns out you can do greater things AND date the boy on the football team (she just didn’t know that at fifteen),” another user added.

“Taylor smiled and was giddy during ‘in your life you’ll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team’ because it’s ironic how she ended up with a football player after writing these lines as a teen,” a third chimed in . “it’s also cute. no hidden meaning.”

Others gushed that the “Cruel Summer” singer looked “so happy” and “so in love” with the football star, who she started dating last summer.

Kelce didn’t attend Swift’s shows in Lyon as the Kansas City Chiefs visited the White House on Saturday to celebrate their February 2023 Super Bowl win.

The pair have been apart for over two weeks following a romantic getaway to Lake Como in mid-March.

However, they are likely to link up later this month when Travis and his brother, Jason Kelce, travel to France to record their hit podcast from the 2024 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity.

Page Six confirmed last month that the brothers will tape their podcast at  Stagwell’s Sport Beach on June 20.

The “All Too Well” singer has a concert in Wales on June 18 before playing in London three days later. It is unclear whether Swift will pop over to the South of France or if the hunky athlete will travel her way after the festival.

Although Travis has been busy in the States the last couple of weeks, Swift’s BFFs Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds attended both of her shows in Madrid last week.

The couple was spotted singing, dancing and even sharing a sweet smooch in the crowd.

Swift gave the pair’s three eldest daughters — James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4 — a special shoutout during the concert.

“I have to say that on ‘Folklore,’ some of my favorite characters are named James, Inez and Betty,” the singer, who famously  used the names of the couple’s daughters  in her songs, told the crowd.

Like their parents, the three girls seemed to have the time of their lives at the concert.

How To Get Adele Tickets In 2024

Adele has given fans a reason to set fire to the rain this spring: She’s announced new performance dates for 2024. The 16-time Grammy winner’s Weekends With Adele tour picked up in Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace back in May. Later this year, she travels to Munich, Germany for ten shows before finally returning to Vegas for October and November. Here’s everything we know about how to get Adele tickets this year.

Adele is performing a select number of shows in the summer and fall of 2024. Read on to see how to ... [+] get tickets for her tour of Vegas and Munich.

The 7 Best Stone Bath Mats That Dry Instantly And Don’t Slip

The best crib mattresses, according to extensive testing, where to buy tickets for “weekends with adele”.

While tickets for the Weekends With Adele tour dates are mostly sold out on direct platforms like Ticketmaster , fans who want to ditch their earbuds and experience Adele live still have a few options to snag tickets on the secondary market. Keep in mind that prices on ticket reselling platforms fluctuate greatly date-to-date, and the cost varies wildly between the Vegas and Munich events.

  • Ticket reseller StubHub has concertgoers covered for all of Adele’s upcoming tour dates in the United States and Europe, with U.S. tickets selling for $700 and up; tickets in Germany start at $100.
  • Prices on Vivid Seats are similar to StubHub, with the Vegas shows starting at around $770 and the Munich shows starting around $100 a ticket.
  • SeatGeek is only offering tickets for Adele’s shows in Las Vegas, with tickets starting at $750. Prices have escalated quickly, though, with Seatgeek warning on its website, “The average price for Adele tickets is around $3,216” and “floor seats for Adele cost around $2,350.”
  • TicketNetwork’s prices for Adele’s Vegas show begin around $1,000 each, and her Munich show tickets start at $120. However, you can save $25 on a purchase of $150 or more using promo code TNTIX25 at checkout.

When Do Adele Tickets Go On Sale?

Tickets are already on sale, so don’t wait too long if you want to see Adele live this year. Many dates are listed on ticket sites as “selling fast.”

Adele announced on Instagram earlier this month that the Vegas concerts in October and November will be shows that had to be rescheduled from March. Ticket holders should expect an email with more information about their new show date.

The singer had to put her Vegas residency on hold during after she fell ill. Being sick took “a toll on [her] voice,” she shared in a statement, as reported by Deadline .

Of course, if you don’t yet have a seat at one of those shows, you can still purchase tickets for the October and November dates; they are not exclusively for fans who are being rescheduled.

How Much Are Adele Tickets?

It should go without saying that as with all live performances, ticket prices vary by venue and the seat’s proximity to the stage. For this tour, Adele is limiting her performances to just two stages: The Colosseum at Caesars Palace for her Las Vegas residency and The Open Air Arena at Messe München in Munich, Germany.

On average, you’ll need to spend significantly more money on tickets for the Vegas show than on the Munich gigs. The lowest prices at the Messe München clock in less than $150, while Vegas tickets start around $700 (with some tickets selling for as much as $6,000).

It’s also important to remember that ticketing sites typically charge additional fees that aren’t included in the original price of the ticket but instead are added at checkout.

How Long Is The Adele Residency In Las Vegas?

Adele’s Las Vegas residency began in October 2023 and will end in November 2024. Fans can still snag tickets to her show during weekends in May, June, October and November.

Did Adele Cancel Her Las Vegas Tour?

Due to an illness, Adele had to postpone 10 of her Weekends With Adele tour dates in March, rescheduling them for October and November of this year. The final part of Adele’s original Vegas residency was supposed to run from January through June. Now, she will return to The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in the fall to make up for the shows she had to cancel.

What Songs Will Adele Sing During Her Tour?

While Adele’s setlist generally varies based on the venue, SeatGeek noted on its ticketing page that she will probably include these each night: Set Fire to the Rain, Easy On Me, Someone Like You, Skyfall, Love In The Dark, When We Were Young, Make You Feel My Love, Hello and Chasing Pavements .

Day in the life of Jack Nicklaus: Golden Bear stays busy at Memorial Tournament | Oller

do the wiggles still tour

Jack Nicklaus will have had plenty of practice shaking hands by the time he congratulates the winner of the Memorial Tournament Sunday at Muirfield Village Golf Club.

I stopped counting at 150, but it’s safe to say Upper Arlington’s most famous Golden Bear shook well over 200 paws Wednesday as he moved along the 220 acres of golf course on his way to meet-and-greets, photo shoots, autograph signings, ceremonies, lunch, board meetings and dinner.

And he didn’t drop from exhaustion. That may be more impressive than him winning the 1986 Masters .

“I think he gets very primed for this event,” 2019 Memorial honoree Judy Rankin said. "And it means so much to him, he just decides he can be tired later."

Nicklaus is 84 but has more energy than a man in his 60s. I should know. I shadowed him from early morning through late afternoon Wednesday – “A day in the life of Jack Nicklaus at the Memorial” if you will – and I needed a nap by the time we parted company. Jack needed no such thing. He is like the Man of Steel, except Superman never smacked a 1-iron like Nicklaus could in his prime.

That prime is past, but the legacy lives on:

Nicklaus as golf’s greatest champion, winner of a record 18 major championships.

Nicklaus as Memorial Tournament visionary, founder and host.

Nicklaus as humanitarian, raising millions for children’s hospitals and charities.

Nicklaus as needler, applying a well-placed elbow of sarcasm into the ribs of those he likes.

Jack Nicklaus, Papa Bear, is comfortable around the cubs

The day began with Nicklaus and wife Barbara, or the First Lady of Golf as she is known in these parts, arriving at the practice putting green to shake hands and pose for pictures with officials, parents and kids involved in the Play Yellow initiative, a program in which the Nicklauses, PGA Tour and Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals join forces to raise money for kids at local children’s hospitals.

Nicklaus listens to Jimmy Smith, whose 16-year-old daughter Madison died of colorectal cancer in October.

“The heartache just doesn’t go away, but things like this help,” said Smith, who arrived at Muirfield from Rockville, Maryland, as a guest of PGA Tour player and Play Yellow spokesperson Denny McCarthy.

Nicklaus nods, then engages McCarthy in a history lesson on the Masters, which he won six times. He shakes more hands before gravitating toward his favorite audience – kids. Cordial to adults, he lights up around 3 and 4 footers.

Nine Golden Cubs – current or former patients from Nationwide Children’s Hospital – swarm like bees around the Bear. Jack’s eyes light up. He signs their shirts, hats, anything they want.

“I’m going to sit here with my gang,” the man said, squeezing between two gigglers. “How long do you think I’ve been married?”

“Fifty years,” someone chirps.

“That’s a good guess,” Nicklaus says. “How about 64.”

An adult speaks up.

“You still look happy.”

Then, the Nicklaus wit: “We’re working it,” he says, patting Barbara’s leg.

Hayden Laycock is one of the Cubs. The 15-year-old Grandview Heights sophomore has a congenital heart block. Nicklaus has his own health issues. The two bond.

“He’s pretty cool,” Laycock says, adding that Nicklaus was “the Tiger (Woods) before Tiger. I know he was really good for his time.”

At least the teen knows that much. Many of the kids simply see a hunched older man in black pants and shoes with a gray sports coat and tangerine tie. They do not realize the ground they stand on, once forest and farmland, might be retail space if not for Nicklaus choosing in 1966 to give back to the area where he grew up by building a championship golf course that would attract the best players in the world.

Then again, Nicklaus is self-aware enough to know that he wouldn’t be standing here either if “I had missed about 10 five-foot putts.”

Had that happened, Nicklaus would have won fewer majors, earned less money and lacked the cache to create his own tournament in Dublin.

Fans recognize Jack Nicklaus as a member of golf royalty

But he made the putts, which turned him into a king of golf, which is what he resembled as he offered the “royals wave” while driving his cart to the 16th green following the Play Yellow event. As Jack and Barbara sped along the hilly cart paths – does he have a license for that thing? – a chorus of “Hey, Jack” hellos rang out among fans dotting the fairways.

There was even a fist bump.

Three things struck me about the constant attention: 1. It must feel good, especially since it’s been nearly 20 years since Nicklaus played a competitive round ( 2005 British Open ).; 2. I wonder if it’s easy to take the adulation for granted. 3. Celebrity must get exhausting. I mean, 200-plus handshakes?

Pertaining to point No. 3, the only time the sea of fans parted was when Ohio State coach Ryan Day and wife Nina showed up at the Play Yellow meet-and-greet photo opp. Suddenly, Nicklaus was left alone for a few minutes. He did not mind.

Another Ohio State coach arrived on the scene. John Cooper looks younger than his 87 years. While three years older than Nicklaus, he gushes like a little kid when recalling Jack’s generosity.

After getting fired at OSU following the 2000 season, Cooper received a call from Muirfield Village’s CEO informing him that his membership was ending because it was tied to his coaching job. Several years later, Cooper bumped into Nicklaus.

“He asked me why he had not seen me (at Muirfield Village),” Cooper said.

After hearing the explanation, Nicklaus informed the club to renew Cooper’s membership.

Nearly a quarter century later, Cooper wanted to thank Nicklaus again for the kind gesture.

Nicklaus’ response?

“We take care of all our friends.”

Ryan Day picks brain of ‘elite’ Jack Nicklaus

Eventually, Nicklaus and Day sit together on the nearby “Helen Nicklaus” bench, dedicated to Jack’s mother, who passed Aug. 16, 2000 – the Wednesday of the PGA Championship.

“I always like getting a chance to meet, know and study people who are elite. And he was,” Day says. “Just to be around him, listening to the mindset, you can pick something up. I had an opportunity a year ago to go down and spend some time at the house with Jack and Barbara, Nina and I both, and so it was great. We appreciate their support.”

The coach and golfer discuss OSU quarterbacks, NIL and recruiting. Nicklaus, who played golf at Ohio State, could talk Buckeyes football all day. But he does not have all day, because soon it is off to another ceremony.

Wednesday is Military Appreciation Day at the Memorial, sponsored by JobsOhio, and inside a huge tent located near the 16th green Nicklaus shakes at least 100 hands, including that of 76-year-old Bob Patterson, one of 61 living recipients of the Medal of Honor, the military’s highest award recognizing valor.

Patterson says he does not play golf as much as he works at playing golf. The native North Carolinian, who lives in Pensacola, Florida, gets a handshake from Nicklaus, who made golf look as easy as child’s play.

It is something to see a Vietnam veteran, who in 1968 destroyed five enemy bunkers while under fire, melt while meeting a man who fired golf balls into the air. Such is the power of Nicklaus.

“A lot of my friends served in the military,” Nicklaus says to the crowd of military men and women and their families. “It’s a big thing for us to say thank you. We don’t understand what you did, but we understand the results of what you did.”

Nicklaus launches into a brief history of Muirfield Village, telling the crowd it cost $2.5 million to build the course. When asked for his expectation of where the Memorial will be in a decade or two, he raises his index finger to the sky, signaling he wants the tournament to keep trending up.

More humor: “Notice how crooked that (finger) was. From holding a golf club (all those years.)”

At 11:35 a.m., Jack and Barbara hop back in their cart and head toward the clubhouse for lunch in the Captain’s Grill. More waves. More fans pointing out “There goes Jack.”

Lunching with a who’s who of the golf world

Inside the players' locker room, Nicklaus and his media representative, Scott Tolley, go over details of his upcoming afternoon speech at the honoree ceremony for LPGA Hall of Famer Juli Inkster. Then it is off to lunch, where Nicklaus shakes more hands. He exchanges a few words with Rickie Fowler, greets members of the Captains Club, including Rankin, Hale Irwin and Andy North, then checks out what’s being offered in the buffet line.

An hour later, he joins the procession of golf dignitaries, including PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan and Augusta National chairman Fred Ridley, who walk from the clubhouse to the driving range for the honoree ceremony.

Temperatures reach into the mid-80s. But if Jack is uncomfortable, he doesn’t show it.

The ceremony ends, but, unlike me, Nicklaus is far from finished. There is a Captains Club meeting to attend, then a dinner that will last until 9 p.m.

Finally, lights out. A 14-hour day comes to a close and the Bear gets to hibernate for the night.

2024 NCAA baseball tournament bracket, scores, schedule: Super Regionals underway for College World Series

Sixteen teams remain in the ncaa tournament, and the eight-team college world series starts june 14.

ncaa-trophy.png

The 2024 NCAA baseball tournament is underway after the 64-team field was trimmed to 16 this week. Action in the Super Regionals runs through the weekend. On Friday, it was all about the ACC, as North Carolina and Virginia pulled out wins, but Florida State put an exclamation point on its 24-4 blowout over UConn.

The Seminoles blasted five home runs -- they finished with 18 hits -- while setting a Super Regionals record for most runs and largest winning margin.

Top seed Tennessee was able to survive Evansville as AJ Causey was dominant from the mound. The Vols are now one win away from another appearance in Omaha. The eight winners of the best-of-three Super Regional matchups move on to the College World Series, which kicks off June 14.
