Trixie & Katya announce massive UK Arena tour

Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova today announce their first full UK tour together,  Trixie And Katya Live  presented by Obsessed and powered by Five Senses Reeling. The tour will kick off on 5 November 2022, with a massive show at London’s famous Ovo Arena Wembley. Part of a European tour, they return to the UK in Glasgow on 25 November until 11 December at Dublin’s 3 Arena, completing the mammoth 12 date UK tour. A full list of tour dates and venues is below.

“After over a year of living on your small screens, we are pulling out all of the stops on this live show in our spectacular second home, the UK,” said Trixie Mattel. “You can expect spectacular musical numbers, a dazzling set, and impeccable timing from two of the most talented women in the world. Do I smell a Tony?”

Trixie And Katya Live  is a parody homage to the classic female road trip comedies from the 90s to today. From drag classics  To Wong Foo, Thanks for Everything! Julie Newmar  and  The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert , to  Crossroads  and  Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar ,  Trixie And Katya Live  tells the story of two well-travelled women going out on the road together. Meta? Maybe. An outrageous, absurd, and comedic musical drag show spectacular? Definitely.

“Trixie and Katya Live will redefine drag, theatre, and art,” said Katya Zamolodchikova. “You may leave with more questions than answers, but one thing’s for sure: The world will never be the same.”

The  Trixie And Katya Live  tour also marks the launch of Obsessed, a new brand from drag promoters, Five Senses Reeling. Obsessed is a new platform to discover where your favorite LGBTQ+ talent, including drag, music, and comedy, are performing, buy exclusive merchandise, watch engaging content, and more.

“It’s a thrill to be launching our new brand with one of the most highly anticipated drag tours ever to grace the stage,” said Jason Brotman, owner and founder of Five Senses Reeling and Obsessed. “To bring these two drag superstars and viral comedy sensations together live on stage is a dream come true, and we can’t wait for fans to experience this live theatrical tour, unlike anything they have ever seen before.”

A limited number of upgrade package add-ons will be available for sale in each city. The Strawberry Social Early Entry Experience includes early entry to the venue, a tour poster autographed by Trixie and Katya, an opportunity to shop for exclusive tour merchandise before the general audience, plus other commemorative tour items. The Red and Wild Photo Op Upgrade includes all of the Strawberry Social package benefits, plus a photo opportunity with Trixie and Katya. These packages are upgrades and  do not include a ticket   to the show . Tickets must be purchased separately.

Trixie Mattel and Katya announce UK and European tour dates

The legendary Ru Paul’s Drag Race fan-favourites and UNHhhh hosts, Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova, announced on Monday (23 May) that they are crossing the pond to perform the ‘ Trixie and Katya Live ’ tour in Europe.

After touring the show in Australia and the US, the pair will descend on the UK and kick off the European leg of the tour at London’s OVO Arena on 5 November.

They will be embarking on 22 dates around Europe throughout November and December of this year with a show Entertainment Weekly describes as “a new scripted satire inspired by road trip comedies from the ’90s, including To Wong Foo, Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Crossroads, and more.”

Speaking to EW, Trixie said: “After over a year of living on your small screens, we are pulling out all of the stops on this live show. You can expect spectacular musical numbers, a dazzling set, and impeccable timing from two of the most talented women in the world. Do I smell a Tony?”

“Trixie and Katya Live will redefine drag, theatre, and art. You may leave with more questions than answers, but one thing’s for sure: The world will never be the same,” Katya added. 

Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova are longtime collaborators and have worked as a duo on various projects, from UNHhhh to their shared podcast, The Bald and the Beautiful .

‘Trixie and Katya Live,’ however, marks their debut theatrical tour as a pair.

In a YouTube video announcement of the US tour, Trixie and Katya detailed the show would include: “dancing, acting, costume, props, wigs, music, narrative plot structure, well-rehearsed line reads, onstage love triangles, off stage platonic squares… it’s worth every single penny.”

LGBTQ+ talent site Obsessed concludes the announcement: “What critics are calling “shockingly poignant and mercifully brief” Trixie and Katya Live! is sure to be UNHhhhlike anything you’ve ever witnessed.”

It was a very funny show- rude, crude and yet truly endearing. You got to see Brian, the man behind the character Katya Zamolochikova and I couldn't get enough. A must-see for all drag race fans.

This was honestly one of the best moments of my life. There were three parts; Russian, Trish, and just her. There were two or three video skits, one of which featured Trixie Mattel, also her drag race audition tape.she was really funny, really interactive, and it was all together just a great time. Not gonna lie though, the merchandise was very expensive - one T-shirt for £40! I got a signed photo for £20 though. Definitely worth seeing but maybe make the merchandise cheaper :)

Per current mandatory health requirements from the City of Philadelphia, all attendees ages 5 and older must present proof of a COVID-19 vaccination in order to enter the venue and attend the show. In attending the event, you certify and attest that you and all individuals in your party attending the event will abide by the following regulations:

All fans ages 5 and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after second dose) – and provide proof of vaccination prior to entering the venue. Masks will be required at all times except when actively eating or drinking. Trixie Mattel and Katya Zamolodchikova have announced their first U.S. tour together,  Trixie And Katya Live  presented by Obsessed and powered by Five Senses Reeling. The tour will kick off March 15 and 16, 2022, in San Francisco, CA, with 20 additional dates throughout the country, including Chicago, Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Dallas, and more. 5 Things You Need to Know About Hormone Therapy From an Lgbtq+ Nurse Practitioner

When I started medical transition at 20 years old, it was very difficult to get the care I needed for hormone replacement therapy because there are very few providers trained in starting hormones for trans people, even though it’s very similar to the hormones that we prescribe to women in menopause or cisgender men with low testosterone.

I hope more providers get trained in LGBTQ+ healthcare , so they can support patients along their individual gender journey, and provide the info needed to make informed decisions about their body. I’ve personally seen my trans patients find hope and experience a better quality of life through hormone replacement therapy.

If you don’t have a primary care physician who specializes in LGBTQ+ care in your community, you may need to educate yourself (and your provider). But, before you seek such therapy, here are five things you should know!

• Monitor closely. At Spectrum Medical Care Center , we screen patients for certain risks before starting anyone on hormones. We frequently monitor patients in the first year to ensure there are no adverse reactions and lab results are within safe ranges. Follow-up care is also important to assess your comfort with the transition as well as the social impact and social support you’re experiencing.
• Some changes are permanent, some temporary. For transmasculine individuals going on testosterone, they’ll experience these permanent changes: deepened voice, clitoral enlargement (also known as bottom growth), more body, facial hair, and male pattern baldness. Reversible changes include cessation of menses, increased muscle mass and strength, body fat redistribution, and skin oiliness or acne. For those going on estrogen therapy, the most permanent change is breast growth. Feminizing hormone therapy can also cause atrophy (shrinkage) of the genitals and loss of erectile function that may not be reversible. Estrogen will thin body hair, soften the skin, can increase scalp hair, and decrease muscle mass and strength, all of which are reversible.
• You can’t pick and choose results. Unfortunately, you can’t pick and choose the physical changes you want, which may feel challenging. Some of my patients will say, ‘ Okay, ‘I’ve seen the permanent changes I want, and I don’t want it to go any further, ’ and so at that point, we stop therapy. Low-dose hormone therapy can slow down the rate of changes, allowing for a more gradual physical transition. We counsel patients in advance about the common changes, and it’s up to the individual as to when they’d like to scale back and determine whether some benefits are worth the potential risks.
• Be aware of risks. Like any medical treatment, there are potential risks involved. Some risks with testosterone therapy include increased red blood cell mass, acne, hypertension, sleep apnea, weight gain, and dyslipidemia (increases the chance of clogged arteries). Cardiovascular disease is likely increased with additional risk factors for testosterone and estrogen therapy. Transfeminine patients going on estrogen therapy may experience weight gain, thromboembolic disease (when a blood clot breaks off and blocks another blood vessel), and a high level of triglycerides in the blood.
