Red Hot Chili Peppers Head To London Stadium As Part Of 2022 Uk Stadium Tour

The Red Hot Chili Peppers have revealed details of the 2022 UK Stadium Tour, as part of the band's World Tour next summer! The group will come to London Stadium on Saturday 25th June, with special guests Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals and Thundercat. The band has now added a second date on Sunday 26th June, with Thundercat + more. 

The 32-city global stadium tour kicks off on Saturday, June 4th at Estadio La Cartuja in Seville, Spain with stops in London, Paris, Dublin, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, and many more before wrapping up in Arlington at Globe Life Field on September 18th. The tour is produced by Live Nation. 

The 2022 tour will mark the return of guitarist and all round cosmic musician John Frusciante to the group, as well as the band’s first ever stadium tour in the U.S. Red Hot Chili Peppers will be performing their career-spanning hits as well as new music from their forthcoming album.

Tickets go on sale to the general public starting Friday, October 15th directly from London Stadium here . All seat levels and price tiers will still be available to purchase at this time.

Return coach tickets from across the UK to the venue will be available through National Express via the London Stadium ticketing link here .

It’s a big day for members of the Rockinfreakapotamus fan club in London. Tonight (Friday July 21) the Red Hot Chili Peppers are heading to north London to rock out Tottenham’s London Stadium. One of only two UK shows, you don’t want to miss this rare chance to see the Chili Peppers IRL. This is all the information about the show today.

Doors open at the Tottenham Stadium at 4.30pm. 

What time will the Red Hot Chili Peppers come on stage? 

The Peppers haven’t released their official stage time, but they’re likely to come on at around 8.45 pm.

The band hasn’t given away an official setlist either, but they have been playing similar songs across their world tour. The show is likely to go something like this:

Are there any tickets left? 

There are a few last-minute tickets being flogged on Ticketmaster . Standing will set you back a pretty penny, costing £200, but some seats are going for £90. 

What’s the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium bag policy? 

The north London venue doesn't allow any bags bigger than an A4 piece of paper (21cm x 30cm), which means no backpacks. As with most gigs, illegal items like fireworks, knives or drugs aren't allowed, but you can use your common sense for that. The stadium also doesn't allow flag poles longer than 1m, or flags or banners bigger than 250cm on their longest side. 

Will the train strikes impact transport to and from Tottenham Stadium?

If you're coming from outside London, your travel to the gig might be scuppered by train strikes  taking place on July 20 and 22. Rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers has announced a huge 2023 world tour with a show in London. The legendary group will perform at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (62,850 capacity) in North London on Friday July 21, 2023.

Kicking off in Vancouver on March 29, the band's massive global tour - which is in support of two 2022 studio albums, Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen - features North America and Europe legs and includes a concert in Glasgow as well as London. They will be supported by plenty of other big names, including T he Strokes, Iggy Pop and St. Vincent.

How to buy tickets

General sale begins on Friday, December 9 at 10am local time. Tickets will be available via official ticket selling platforms including Ticketmaster , See Tickets and LiveNation.co.uk .

Keen to nab tickets early can also take advantage a number of presale events. O2 customers will have access to presale tickets from Wednesday December 7 at 10am until Friday December 9 at 9am.

Red Hot Chili Peppers have been blowing fans away with the European leg of their Unlimited Love world tour so far, looking and sounding better than ever.

After a date at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester, the band capped off the second of two nights in the capital with a nostalgic performance at London Stadium this weekend.

After their customary Intro Jam, Anthony Kiedis , Flea , Chad Smith and John Frusciante treated fans to an energetic performance of Around The World , before playing Dani California and dusting off the Californication album track I Like Dirt .

The Chilis also continued to switch up their set, giving Wet Sand from their 2006 double album Stadium Arcadium its tour debut and giving By The Way album classic Don't Forget Me another outing.

Their career-spanning setlist also saw the band play the likes of The Zephyr Song , Snow ((Hey Oh)) and a supercalifragilistic rendition of Right On Time , which was preceded by a tease of The Clash's London Calling.

It was clear that being back in London brought back plenty of memories for the band, which Flea took the reins in sharing with the crowd.

The band's nostalgia didn't stop after their rendition of the Blood, Sugar, Sex Magik live favourite Give It Away either. Returning for their encore, they opted to ditch Under The Bridge in favour of 90s ditty Soul To Squeeze , which no doubt would have been welcomed by their old-school fans.

Ending their set in the manner they have done thus far, the rockers bowed out after a rousing performance of By The Way , proving once again why they've managed to endure through the ages.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Tap St. Vincent, the Strokes, King Princess for Extensive 2023 World Tour

Red Hot Chili Peppers have scheduled an extensive 23-date world tour for 2023 in support of their latest studio albums, Unlimited Love and Return of the Dream Canteen. Throughout their trek through North America and Europe, the band will be joined by St. Vincent, the Strokes, King Princess, Iggy Pop, the Roots, the Mars Volta, and City and Colour on select dates.

The 2023 tour will launch on March 29 at Vancouver’s BC Palace and wrap on July 23 in Glasgow’s Hampden Park. A number of stops — including performances in Alabama, Odense, Landgraaf, Milan, Lisbon, and Madrid — double as festival appearances. Red Hot Chili Peppers will perform headlining shows at stadiums in Las Vegas, San Diego, Phoenix, Houston, Vienna, London, and more. 

General sale for both the North American and European leg of the tour begins Friday, Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. local time via the official Red Hot Chili Peppers website.

Red Hot Chili Peppers live in London: veteran funk-rockers keep it weird

July 21, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium: with returning guitar hero John Frusciante, the slap-bass enthusiasts raise smiles even as they’re going through the motions

What a strange band this is. At one point, Flea , dressed in a long-sleeved red shirt and a kilt that meets long blue socks, looking like a sexagenarian Super Mario , breaks from proceedings to pump out a slap-bass solo and recount the contents of his breakfast. “Three more poached eggs this morning for meee!” he sings. Without comment, the four-piece then tumble into their gleefully grubby 1991 classic ‘Suck My Kiss’.

The bassist had begun the show on handstands, pogoing across the stage in the manner of a man whose band have never taken the simple route. Given their status as one of the biggest acts in the world, it’s easy to overlook what unlikely stadium-fillers the Red Hot Chili Peppers really are. Anthony Kiedis ’ nonsensical but phonetically perfect semi-rapped lyrics, returning guitar hero John Frusciante ’s aversion to the limelight, those bloody slap-bass solos: none of it exactly screams 2022-2023 Global Stadium Tour, as the Chili fellas have unimaginatively billed this sprint around the Earth.

And yet here we are. In conversation with NME ahead of their first-ever headline US stadium tour last year, Kiedis explained: “They’re tricky places to fill up with the feeling we want to fill them up with, but we wanted to do something that we’ve not really done. So we’re gonna try to build a beautiful stage and make it feel right in this oversized environment.”

There’s little evidence of this ambition at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, truth be told. The sparse staging is augmented only by trippy visuals that might remind this ageing millennial audience of the Windows Media Player graphics that played alongside their illegal downloads of ‘Californication’ in the early ‘00s. Replete with Frusciante’s baggy, doodled-on trousers and a T-shirt adorned with a spray paint-style cartoon character, along with the cameras crash-zooming in on him like it’s an episode of ‘90s TV show The Word , this is no-frills dad-rock from a simpler time.

Upon opening with an interminable jam session, the band reward the audience’s patience by rolling from the joyful ‘Can’t Stop’ into the instantly recognisable ‘Scar Tissue’ (which Kiedis dedicates to beloved crooner Tony Bennett , whose death was announced earlier in the day). As well as the tunes that are etched in fans’ memories, though, there’s the small matter of two new Chilis albums to get through.

Having laid low for a decade, Frusciante re-entered the fold for ‘ Unlimited Love ’ and ‘ Return of the Dream Canteen ’, which were released in quick succession last year. By some strange twist of fate, the tracks from those albums coincide with swathes of the audience heading out to the bar. Of the new material, the sultry ‘Black Summer’, the first single released upon their return, sits most comfortably in the set. Pleasingly, Kiedis’ weird enunciation of its lyrics remains intact from the record: “ China’s on the durrrk side of the mooooon.” Less compelling is the noodly, impenetrable ‘Aquatic Mouth Dance’, even if he says it “goes out to” London punk legends The Slits.

That’s one of several homages paid to the city, as when the Chilis precede breakneck funk workout ‘Right On Time’ with a chug through the opening bars of The Clash ’s ‘London Calling’. Flea, meanwhile, makes a misty-eyed speech about their debut visit to these shores, back when RHCP were just four randy blokes with a dream and a demo. “Please just listen to it!” he remembers begging. “Give us a chance! We can play your nightclub! We can play your grandmother’s living room! Just listen to this shit!”

Besides that heartfelt moment and Frusciante’s solo cover of Cynthia & Johnny O’s 1990 dance-pop curio ‘Dreamboy/Dreamgirl’, the show feels like business as usual for the Chilis. Before the sun drops, with rows of empty seats on display, you get a sense of what it might be like to drag yourself around the interchangeable sports stadiums of the world, cranking out the hits and politely received newbies. Still, many of us thought we’d never hear Frusciante tease that planet-sized ‘Can’t Stop’ refrain in person again – and his presence is certainly keenly felt, whether he’s falling to his knees in a moment of high riffage or adding melodic glimmers to the end of ‘Don’t Forget Me’.

‘By The Way’ gets a glorious, cowbell-adorned make-over and precedes the inevitable encore of ‘Under the Bridge’ and ‘Give It Away’. The audience’s iPhone torches come out for the former and Kiedis rolls his syllables on the latter with the same gusto he’s summoned for the last 30-odd years; like tens of thousands of fans roaring the words “hardcore soft porn” along to ‘Californication’, it can’t fail to raise a smile.

Was tonight just another date on the relentless 2022-2023 Global Stadium Tour, another sports stadium to fill with sweet slap bass? Perhaps – since this is the Chilis we’re talking about, though, it was anything but ordinary.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium cost the club a whopping £1.2billion to build. The 62,850-seated arena opened in 2019 and has been the best stadium in the capital since.

The state-of-the-art stadium had been envisioned for some years, as Spurs looked to upgrade on the iconic White Hart Lane ground. Now, the multi-purpose venue is used all year round as opposed to just matchdays.

NFL games in the United Kingdom, a popular event in the country, have created new revenue streams while the F1 Karting Experience opportunity and possibility of hosting concerts in the summer have generated millions for Spurs.

According to UEFA European Club Finances and Investment report published earlier this year, Spurs are on course to have the third highest figure in terms of matchday revenue in football, above Real Madrid and behind Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona.

Despite criticism for decisions made on the pitch, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy's tactic of maximising revenue off the pitch has worked . In August, the Haringey Council approved plans to double the number of 'major non-football events' after the stadium, meaning 30 events are now permitted to take place.

The Tottenham Hotspur Stadium has become one of Europe's leading live music concern venues with Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Guns 'N' Roses and Red Hot Chili Peppers among those to perform at the venue.

Event insurance specialists Protectivity recently analysed Google reviews for the 20 Premier League stadiums to the 2024/25 season, as well as the three teams relegated last season. They looked at which stadium had the highest proportion of five-star Google reviews left by visitors.

Liverpool's Anfield ranked highest with 86.99% of reviews rated five stars. Tottenham's venue followed closely in second at 84.33% of five-star reviews, a huge 17,441 out of 20,683. Just 3.51% of reviews for the stadium were listed as one star and it scored an impressive 4.7 out of five rating overall on Google with North London rivals Arsenal beaten into fifth place.

October will see two NFL games take place as the New York Jets take on the Minnesota Vikings (6th) and the Jacksonville Jaguars facing Chicago Bears the following Sunday (13th). Imagine Dragons will perform as part of their 'Loom' World Tour in July before Catfish and the Bottlemen take the stage at the start of August.
